Etude House Pink Bird Box November “Snowy Dessert Collection”

16. December 2015

If you follow me on instagram or facebook you already know that I was offered to be part of the Etude House Pink Bird Program and I’m really honoured and happy to present to you my first Etude House Pink Bird Box today! The theme of Etude House November Pink Bird Box is “Snowy Dessert Collection”, which is the name of Etude House’s Christmas Collection 2015 on the same time, and as the name already reveals, this box contains products of that collection! If you are curious about some of Etude House’s newest product continue reading, but be aware that this post is picture-heavy :D

Etude House Pink Bird Box

First of all, some words about the Korean brand Etude House: Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adorable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging… Etude House is having a blogger program called Pink Bird. Selected blogger will receive a monthly box for a defined period of time packed with selected products for reviewing purpose. Since I’m really a huge fan of Etude House I’ve always looked up to other bloggers who were part of the program in the past and read their posts of previous Etude House Pink Birds eagerly, and now, having a pink bird box in my own hands, makes me really proud and also ashamed, since some of the past pink birds are people I could call blogger-idols :D (please check out bloggers like for example HelloPrettyBird, MangoBeautyTips, or BeautyJunkie…there are many, many more of course!).

Etude House Pink Bird

Opening the Etude House Pink Bird Box November was super exciting! I was so curious about the products of the Snowy Dessert Collection, but also about the other sample kit of the new Honey Cera skin care line, which was part of the Etude House Pink Bird Box, too. Inside the box there was also the Etude House magazine and some advertorial flyers of the two lines which are part of the box. The Etude House magazine is really cute and contains some how-to instructions and makeup tips. Are you interested in some pictures from the magazine? Let me know in the comments!

Etude House Pink Bird

The products of my Etude House Pink Bird Box November were Etude House Snowy Dessert Play 101 Pencils in shade No. 71 and No. 73, Etude House Snowy Dessert Pudding Tint No.3 Grapefruit Tint, and Etude House Snowy Dessert Ginger Cookie Blusher. Moreover, there was a Honey Cera 4-in-1 Kit, containing the Etude House Honey Cera Nourishing & Elasticity Cream, the Etude House Honey Cera Priming Eye Serum and the Etude House Honey Cera Toner and Emulsion.

Etude House Pink Bird

Let’s start off with the products from the Snowy Dessert Collection 2015: This collection is designed to remind you of all these tasty and lovely Christmas desserts, only here you cannot eat them, but instead use them for your next makeup. The collection contains 5 new and limited colors of the Etude House Play 101 Pencils (I reviewed some of their pencils in the past >>here<<), 5 colors of the Snowy Dessert Pudding Tints, the Snowy Dessert Ginger Cookie Blusher and Contour Maker, two different Snowy Dessert Hand Creams and two Snowy Dessert Scented Tablets. You can check out the whole collection on Etude House Online Shopping Mall.

Etude House Pink Bird

I was most excited about the Etude House Snowy Dessert Ginger Cookie Blusher, because it was one of the products I was thinking about to buy, before I knew that I would receive the Pink Box. The packaging of this Blusher is really adorable and fits perfectly to Christmas. The Snowy Dessert Cookie Ginger Blusher comes in a cardboard packaging designed like an oven! This is so cute! I fell in love with this packaging at once!

Etude House Pink Bird

The Snowy Dessert Ginger Cookie Blusher is a two-toned blusher with a bronze color. It has a sweet ginger bread man imprinted and I really hesitated to use my brush on this blusher, because I feared the cute ginger bread man would disappear. So far I’ve used this blush quite often but you still see the ginger bread man luckily!

Etude House Pink Bird

The color of this blusher is very light and swatched on my hand you hardly see anything apart from a glowy, bronze shimmer. Nevertheless, when I applied it on my cheeks the color is more vibrant and visible, resulting in a brownish/ bronze color which is more than lovely for fall and winter season. The Snowy Desser Ginger Cookie Blusher contains 9 g of product and retails for 16.80 US$. It doesn’t come with a puff or a brush. Some pictures below I also will show you how my complete facial makeup looks like and how the color of this blusher turns out on my cheeks.

Etude House Pink Bird

The Etude House Snowy Desser Pudding Tint in Shade 3 called Grapefruit Pudding comes in a cardboard box designed like those cake boxes you will receive at some bakeries. Another super adorable designed product! Once you open the cardboard box you will find the tint in a small jar together with a spoon/spatula.

Etude House Pink Bird

The Snowy Dessert Pudding Tint has a pudding texture, as the name suggests, which also remind me a bit of some mousse or other desserts like that. Kind of a bouncy texture. The spatula has a soft plastic tip. You can use it like a spoon to scoop out the pudding tint. The spreading of the tint is better done with the backside of the spoon, or with a separate lip brush or your fingers. The color of the pudding tint is super vibrant and highly pigmented, but also can be blended in as soft gradient. As for the staying power of this lip tint the stain is visible quite a long time. It may be not as vibrant as when you apply it, but it doesn’t look bad either. If you have dry lips you should exfoliate your lips definitely in advance, otherwise the vibrant pink color will cling to every dry lip flake or wrinkle. The lip tint jar contains 5.5 g and retails for 10.40 US$.

Etude House Pink Bird

The Etude House Snowy Dessert Play 101 Pencils, which I received in shade No.71 and No. 73 are both pencils with a shimmering finish. They come in a plastic box and have a stripe design. No. 71 is a light pink color, whereas No. 73 is a light pearly color.

Etude House Pink Bird

Both shades are super pretty for the under-eye area or the inner corners of your eyes for highlighting. You can twist up the pencils and there is also a tiny sharpener included for sharpening the tip of the pencils. The texture of the product is a creamy type pencil, so it is also useable as eyeshadow for example. I love the shades, because they are really subtle and yet have such a pretty sparkle. Each pencil contains 0.5g and retails for 7.80 US$.

Etude House Pink Bird

In the image below I used all the products I received from the Snowy Dessert Collection to create a makeup look. I used the Ginger Cookie Blusher on my cheeks, the Grapefruit Pudding Tint on my lips and I used the Play 101 Pencil shade No. 71 on my lid and shade No. 73 under my eyes for highlighting. I really like the combination of all the colors for this soft and yet fresh look.  There are some discounted Snowy Dessert Makeup Sets available on Etude House which come with a Snowing in my Hand Snow Pen as gift!

Etude House Pink Bird

Last but not least the Etude House Pink Bird Box November contained the Honey Cera 4-in-1 Kit. The new Etude House Honey Cera line contains honey as key ingredient for nourishing and moisturizing. Furthermore, it contains Royal Jelly and Ceramide. Royal Jelly has nourishing properties like the honey and Ceramide strengthens the skin barrier. Also, you will find extracts of the Helichrysum italicum or also called Italian Immortelle or Curry Plant in the Etude House Honey Cera Line. The purpose of this extract is soothing and moisturizing. Aim of this line is to make the skin plump and nourished and give it the “honey-look”. These ingredients are perfect for winter-time and for dry and rough skin types!

Etude House Pink Bird

I cannot say anything about the long-term effects of this set since it is too few to make any conclusions, but from my first impression I really like this kit. The scent is a nice sweet and flowery scent, but nothing like honey as I imagined before. Unlike most other toners the Honey Cera Toner has a milky color, but the consistency is watery nevertheless. It absorbs quite fast without stickiness. The emulsion is a lightweight lotion, whereas the cream has a thick and nourishing consistency. The cream also leaves the skin a bit tacky afterwards, but definitively  the nourishing and firming aspect is noticeable. The eye serum looks like a balm but is very light and doesn’t feel heavy. It feels nice under and above the eye. Toner and Emulsion contain 15ml each, the eye serum contains 4 ml and the cream contains 10 mg of product. If you order any of the Etude House Honey Cera products in fullsize you will reveive one of this kits with your order!

Etude House Pink Bird

Finally, I’m at the end of my first Pink Bird Box review. Did you like the content of Etude House Pink Bird Box November? I really like the topic of the Christmas themed products and the winter-proof skincare items to combat dry winter skin. Which are your favourite products? Did you try any of the products already? Tell me about it in the comments below!

Unboxing: Mishibox November 2015

2. December 2015

And here is another unboxing, but this time I’m super excited to introduce to you my first ever Mishibox! Yeeeii! I was eagerly waiting for the moment Mishi Box would start shipping to europe and finally I’m able to try them on my own! This monthly Korean beauty subscription box is packed with with a combination of 4 – 6 deluxe-sized samples and full-sized Korean beauty products from a wide range of Korean brands. Today I present you the content of the Mishibox November 2015:

Mishibox November 2015

MISHIBOX is a U.S.-based online retailer providing a wide selection of Korean beauty products. Apart from their online store they also offer a monthly Korean beauty subscription service that delivers a combination of 4-6 deluxe-sized samples and full-sized Korean beauty products. This way they are trying to help you to discover your favorite Korean beauty products. Their aim is to make Korean beauty products easily accessible to everyone regardless of where you live or what language you speak. Mishi (pronounced “me-she”) is their bunny mascot! When I first discovered about Mishibox I directly subscribed for their newsletter, because they planned to deliver worldwide one day. When I received their Email that finally Mishibox was shipping to Germany aswell I was sooo happy! And here it is finally, my first Mishibox:

Mishibox November 2015

The pink box was filled with 6 products in total, 2 of these being sample sized products, one mini-sized product and 3 products in full-size. Each box comes with a product description card, which is very detailed and even reminds us how we can distinguish between expiration and manufactured date and were we can find the list of translated ingredients. I really like the effort they put into the box by translating all the ingredients for example. You can even participate in a Mishibox Selfie Contest in order to win something! So lovely!

Mishibox November 2015

The theme of the Mishibox November 2015 was snail mucin. Two of the full-sized products are using snail mucin in their ingredients list. The variety of different brands in this box is nice, too: we have known brands like Etude House, Tonymoly and Secret Key, but also less known brands like D’Ran and White Cat. The product types are also versatile. Although all the products are skin care items you will find a cleanser, a sheet mask, a cream, a toner and emulsion, and an eye cream. It’s almost a complete skin care routine! Below I will go into the details of each of the products. Nevertheless, I will do a full review once I’ve used the products for some time.

Mishibox November 2015

The main product for me was the D’Ran Wonder Snail Treatment Cream. This nutrience-rich and highly moisturizing cream is perfect for upcoming winter days. Snail mucin is the key ingredient here and it contains 10% of it. Some other nice ingredients of this cream are Glycerin, Silkworm Cocoon Extract, Niacinamide, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Panthenol, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (jojoba) Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Camellia Sinensis Callus Culture Extract and Human Oligopeptide-1 (also called EGF). The jar comes with 100g of content in a beautiful jar, too. It retails for 43 US$ which is super expensive, but it makes me even more happy to find this in a 20 US$ subscription box! I’m looking forward to use this cream, especially since I already tried a product from D’Ran before and was happy with it. Other than the one product from the past, this brand is hardly known to me.

The second item containing snail mucin is the Secret Key Snail + EGF Repairing Eye Cream. This eye cream is supposed to be very popular and it comes in a typical eye cream type. Snail secretion filtrate and EGF are the key ingredients here aswell, but it also contains some plant and fruit extracts and even some fermented plant extract. The tube contains 30 g and retails for 17 US$.

Mishibox November 2015

I was very happy to spot a sheet mask from the new brand White Cat. I just recently reviewed their eye balm and this is now the second product I can try from this brand. There were three types of this sheet mask which were selected randomly for each Mishibox in November. I received the White Cat Charcoal Pore Tightening Mask, which is directed towards pore care as the name already suggests. The masks from White Cat are free from paraben, mineral oil, benzophenone, petrolatum, imidazolidinyl, urea, talc, silphate and BHT. and I’m still loving their logo with the white cat :D The White Cat sheet masks retail for 3 US$.

Mishibox November 2015

The Tonymoly Fresh Cleansing Tissues in Mishibox November 2015 are provided in a miniature size. These water-type facial cleansing tissues contain baking powder for removing makeup and I’m not sure whether I like that or not, since baking powder is usually drying on my skin. But it also contains 5 natural oil ingredients to moisturize and nourish the skin. I will definitively try these, but I’m not sure whether I will like them or not. :D This small packaging of 15 tissues retails for 5 US$.

The last two items in Mishibox November 2015 were the two sample sized bottles from Etude House Age Defense line: there is a bottle of the Age Defense Essential Softener and a bottle of the Age Defense Essential Emulsion. I love these kinds of miniature bottles, especially for travelling! I didn’t try any products from Etude House’s Age Defense line yet, so I’m curious about these, too!

Mishibox November 2015
My first impression of Mishibox and their subscription box is very positive. Although all the products in their November box were skin care products there for items for almost all skin care routine steps. The themed ingredient snail mucin was included by two full-sized products containing snail mucin. The variety of brands was well balanced with known and unknown Korean cosmetic brands. The total value of 68 US$ for a subscription box sold at 19.95 US$ is awesome! If you are interested in Mishibox you can use my referral ID and get a discount code for $5 USD off your order (min. $30 USD) for your first purchase. At the moment their box subscription is closed due to high demand, but you can put your name on the waiting list. Mishibox also has a product store where you can buy a specific product, too. Until 4ths of December they are having Blackfriday sales with up to 30% off by using the coupon BFSALE2015. Did you try Mishibox already? How do you like their subscription box? Did you know any of the products I received?

Mishibox November 2015

Fell free to join my giveaway with Japan Candy Box, too! Did you see it already?

Graveyard: May – October Empties 2015

7. November 2015

I realized my last product empties post was for March & April! I always took the pictures for the empties posts but never made one, so here is a massive May – October Empties 2015 post! As usual, I didn’t include any sheet mask sachets or sample sachets, because it would simply be to messy. But as far as posible I tried to document the products I used up in the past months.

Graveyard: May - October Empties 2015

  1. Stylenanda’s 3CE Water Wrapping Facial Mask – I reviewed these before and I absolutelly love how soft the cotton of these sheet masks is and how soft and nice the essence hydrates the skin. One of my favourite moisturizing sheet masks so far. Click for the review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes!
  2. Innisfree Jeju Bija Anti Trouble BB Cream – This was past expiration date and had to be tossed. I used it mostly mixed with other BB creams because it was to drying for dry skintypes. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? No.
  3. Heart Face Ultra Pore Care Sleeping Pack I was super Excited to try this Sleeping Pack since it smelled so amazingly of Rose Water. Unfortunatelly, my skin didn’t like one of the ingredients, so I ended up using it on my dry body parts like knees and elbows. Worked fine for them, a pitty though that I couln’t use it as sleeping mask. Repurchase? No.
  4. Innisfree Eco Safety Perfect Waterproof Sunblock – This was a lovely sun cream after all. I would think about buying the fullsize or one of the other versions of it. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Maybe.
  5. Skin House Face Calming Galactomyces Cream – I loved this cream! It absorbed nicely and made the skin feel bouncy. I used it up so quicly after all. click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes.
  6. Forencos Selene Project Silk Mask Series – I liked some of the sheet masks from this series and I also made a second in depth review on this set of sheet masks. I didn’t like the ampoule which was included for each sheet mask though. Click for my reviews >>here<< and >>here<<. Repurchase? Probably not.
  7. Merz Special Beauty Talent – This cream was a complete dissapointment. I didn’t like the scent and it didn’t do anything for making my skin less dry, bumpy or anything it was promised to do. Repurchase? No!
  8. It’s Skin Have A Pomegranate Cleansing Foam – Unfortuantelly, this Foam Cleanser was too drying for my skin. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? No!
  9. CosRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid – I did like this, although I do not have any Whiteheads to begin with. But for a AHA product this one is great. I can recommend you to check out the COSRX products in general because they do a nice job. Click for my reviews on the other COSRX products >>here<<. Repurchase? Maybe.
  10. Skin79 BB Cream Miniatures – This were past expiration date, too. I used all of them from time to time, but I cannot say that one of these was my HG BB cream. click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? No.
  11. Etre belle Liplift Peel Exfoliator – Pretty much an average lip scrub. I like the tube it comes in. Repurchase? No.
  12. Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-Up Remover – I love this Point Make-Up Remover from Skinfood. It also comes in a Milk version which I want to try next. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes!
  13. Rituals Sakura Scrub – Another product which I absolutely love! It smells so great and I cannot stop smelling my own skin after using this scrub. Same for the complete Cherry Blossom Line from Rituals! Repurchase? Yes!
  14. Alverde Body Butter Vintage Rose – Guess what, I bought this body butter for the pretty design! It had a nice scent, too, but not as rosy as I had hoped. Nevertheless, a good product and also natural cosmetics! Repurchase? Maybe. Graveyard: May - October Empties 2015
  15. Benton Honest Cleansing Foam – This cleansing foam was surprisingly mild and not drying like other cleansing foams. I really enjoyed using this one, although I was really wary, because I had a negative experience with the Benton Snail Bee Steam Cream. Click for my review >>here<<Repurchase? Maybe, if I have used up all my cleansers :D
  16. Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel – So far my favourite suncream I used. Absorbs fast, doesn’t leave the skin sticky or oily, feels hydrating enough for dry skin. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes!
  17. Rituals Cherry Blossom Body Milk – Also here: I love the scent of this line! Definitively want to rurchase it!
  18. Dermasel Shower Gel Pomegranade – Just a regular showe gel. Had a nice scent, too, but it was not so lingering as the Rituals scents. Repurchase? No.
  19. Johnson and Johnson (Bebe) Beautifying Eye Cream – I like the illuminating eye cream from Lavera much better than this one. This one didn’T absorb completelly and always left kind of a film underneath your eyes. Repurchase? No.
  20. Meishoku DET Clear Bright & Peel Peeling Gel – Another product which I love! I can recommend you to try the MEishoku DET Clear Pelling Gels. They are perfect for using in the shower, too! I’m so sad this one is empty. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes!
  21. Xaivita+ Goat Milk Whitening Cream – This cream is super great! I used it up quickly. It absorbs super fast and leaves the skin nourished. I still have a facial soap from this line and I want to make a review of both products together., so please be patient for more details. I can imagine to repurchase it! Repurchase? Yes.
  22. Banila Co Clean It Zero – This mini jars of Banila Co Clean It Zero cleansing balm are great for travel! I already used the first of them, but I still have a couple more of these. There will be a review about these, too. Repurchase? Yes.
  23. O.S.T C21.5 Vitamin C Serum – I like both vitamin C serums from O.S.T. and I can recommend you again and again to try a vitamin C serum for yourself. These are affordable and effective, too. At the moment I’m using a Vitamin C serum by MapleHolistics, but the bottle slipped out of my hand some days ago, so I will be out of vitamin C serum again…Probably I’m going for O.S.T again. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes!
  24. Coreana SHO EGFactor Eye Cream – One of the best eye cream tubes I’ve had so far. The seringe shape was super convenient and you could close and open it easily. The cream was nice, too. I still have one of these at my bf’s house. See my review >>here<<. Repurchase? No, too expensive.
  25. Shara Shara Fairy’s Synergy Sun Cream – Despite the creepy doll packaging and the defect pump this was not such a bad product. Nevertheless, the packaging puts me off. Repurchase? No.
  26. Schwarzkopf Gliss Kur Ultimate Oil Elixir – I like these large jars of hair packs and treatments. This one smells of cacao. Liked it. Repurchase? Maybe.
  27. Etude House Help My Finger Quick Drop Dry – I love these Quick Dry Drops for Nail polish. I ususally don’t have enough patience to wait ad ruin my nails almost immediatelly. These are great to prevent some of that damage. I bought a similar quick dry drop from Essence this time. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes.
  28. Confume Argan Hair Treatment Ampoule – The Confume Argan Oil is one of my favourite hair oils at the moment. These treatment ampoules are great for a more intense treatment after washing your hair. I like them a lot. The review is still in progress though! Repurchase? Yes.
  29. Dear by Eprani Believe in a Bottle Moistfull Booskin – One of the best Korean Toners (Skin) I tried so far! Lovely scent, makes the skin feel great and definitively worth a try! Repurchase? Yes!
  30. Shiseido Hada Senka Hoshitsu Lotion – This Japanese Toner (Lotion) is great for homemade sheet masks or soaked cotton pads. Definitively worth a try, too. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Maybe.
  31. Nelafantasia One day Whitener Magical Whitening Lotion – This was also past expiration date. This whitening cream contains titanium dioxide and makes the skin appear brighter. The packaging is lovely, but I didn’t use it often after all. Repurchase? No. Graveyard: May - October Empties 2015
  32. Alverde Repair Hair Butter – I didn’t like that at all. It was too rich to be used on dry or freshly washed hair and too hard to wash out when using as a pack before washing the hair. The scent was not to my liking either. Repurchase? No.
  33. Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Omega Repair Hair Mask – Another Hair Pack. I liked the version from above more, though. Repurchase? No.
  34. Ingobeau Perfect Deep Clean One-Step Cleansing Water – My first cleansing water and now I’m eager to try more. I loved this so much and it was super effective in removing all kinds of makeup. It has a nice pH, too. There will be a review, soon. Repurchase? Yes.
  35. Nivea Care face and body cream – This was not as heavy and rich as the regular Nivea Cold Cream, but lighter. If you like Nivea you might like it. Repuchase? MAybe.
  36. John Frida Frizz Ease Dream Curls – I like this conditioning spray from Fritt Ease. This makes my curls look more defined and nice. I bought it in the past and I can imagine to repurchase it in future again. Repurchase? Yes.
  37. Beautiful A.M. Moisturizer and P.M. Revitalizer – A pitty these are empty know, since it starts to get colder here in Germany. Facial oils are great for my dry skin in these times. These were light oils which absorbed fast and were not heavy. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? I want to try other facial oils.
  38. O’SUM’s Aloe Vera Soothing Mist – I do not use up many mists, but here I am with one. I tried to make use of the benefits of mists more often this summer. click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? I want to try other mists, too.

Graveyard: May - October Empties 2015

That was quite a lot! I hope it’s useful for some of you nevertheless. Sorry, for the long and boring post! :’D

Do you know any of these and did you try them yourself? What is your opinion on these products I showed above? I’d be happy about your comments ♥

The Blush Addict Tag

16. September 2015

I would never have considered myself as a blush addict since I have way more lip products than blushes, but after being nominated by KimKine (please do check out her wonderful blog!) I discovered that I have a bunch of blushes and for people with only one or two this might already be considered as an addict. Hopefully, you will enjoy my collection of blushes, although most of them are no high-end blushes and most shades are similar :’D

The Blush Addict Tag

1. What colour blush suits you the most?

I like rose shades, but I think coral/peachy shades suit me most…

2. Pressed/cream/loose blush?

I like cream blushes because it is so easy to use them on the go. Most of my blushes are pressed blushes though.

3. Favourite shimmery blush?

Usually I don’t buy any shimmery blushes. But my favourite of the two I own is the Etude House Princess Happy Ending Rose Cheek Blusher.

4. Favourite matte blush?

At the moment it is Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher in shade #11, before it was Bellapiere Mineral Blush Desert Rose.

The Blush Addict Tag

1028 Visual Therapy Muse Powder Blush, Kryolan for Glossybox Blush, Bellapiere Mineral Blush

5. Favourite cream blush?

Skinfood Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher and 3CE Creamy Cheek Stick

6. Favourite drugstore blush?

I used to buy the Manhattan Cream Blusher regulary, when I only used and owned one single blush.

7. Favourite high-end blush?

My only higher-end blush is the Benefit Dandelion Blush which is part of my Benefit Feelin’ Dandy Kit.

8. Favourite bright blush?

I don’t have any bright blushes. the brightest would be 1028 Visual Therapy Muse Powder Blush.

The Blush Addict Tag

Benefit Feelin’ Dandy Kit

9. Biggest blush disappointment/regret?

Holika Holika Love Fantasy Blusher. It is so pretty, but the lid doesn’t close properly and it largely depends on the brush you use whether the pigmentation is visible or not.

10. Best blush packaging?

Etude House usually does a great job in packaging, so I’m very easily tempted to buy them. I’m still lusting for Canmake blushes because they look super pretty, too, but I didn’t try any yet.

11. What’s on your blush wish list?

Canmake blushes are on my wishlist. And the famous NARS Orgasm Blush is something I would love to try. Kiko also launched a new ollection with some beatiful cream blush colors.

12. Number 1 holy grail blush?

I don’t have a real holy grail blush yet, but I was positively surprised by the Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher, because I didn’t expected it to be too good. It is one of my most used blushes at the moment.

The Blush Addict Tag

I probably don’t have the most exceptional blush collection, but I hope you still like it. I have linked the blushes I reviewed in the text, so ou can read some more details about each blush if you are interested. You are also welcome to do the Blush Addict Tag yourself. I would have tagged Sharlynn for this post, but she already did the tag. she is one of the greatest blush addicts I know within my blogging friends :D. Other than her I will tag my sister MissLovelyAttitude, and Sooyoona, and everybody reading and enjoying these kinds of posts. :)

Here are the questions for the Blush Addict Tag:

1. What colour blush suits you the most?
2. Pressed/cream/loose blush?

Review: Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher

11. August 2015

// AFFILIATE LINKS / KBEAUTY / BLUSH //

I would lie if I told you I was not influenced by media when I’m buying my beauty products. For Korean beauty products it is mostly other blogs, or the Korean Beauty Show “Get It Beauty”. The Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher was selected earlier this year by the Get It Beauty Blind Test as best pink blush. I’ve been eyeing the Etude House Cookie Blusher for a long time before already, but I thought it will be a regular drugstore blush with a cute packaging only. After it became #1 in the blind test I decided that it is finally time to try it!

Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher

Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adoreable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging…The Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher has exactly this cute, girly packaging which makes your heart beat. The name already sounds like something deliciously cute and then there comes the blush in this simple pink container, but below the milky plastic lid you see a cute puff with a pink ribbon!

Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher

Currently 5 different shades are available for the Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher, but the one shade that won the blind test was #11 “Peach Choux Wafers”. This is the shade I bought after all, a lovely natural beige pink color for a natural blush on my cheecks. You can check out all the shades currently available on the official Etude House page, too. The volume of the blush is 7.2 g, and since it is a powder pressed blush I guess this will last for ages.

Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher

The description of the Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher says, that this blush comes with a blur effect. The ‘unique powder reflects shine to various ways to express bright skin color and delivers excellent application and delicate vivid colors’. The blush is long lasting, too. By using sebum control powder the sebum of the skin is absorbed and the blush stays longer. Moreover the fluffy cushion type puff helps to blend and build up the blush as desired. First, I didn’t use the puff at all. It was just a gimmick for me, making this item so cute. But then I started to use it and I must say that is not too bad. It really takes up the powder, but does not take too much, so you won’t be overdoing it. Shade #11 is a light color anyways and is supposed to be natural on the cheecks, but still you can build up the color. This shade doesn’t have any shimmer or glittering particles in it, but it is completelly matte and a great all day blush.

Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher

I don’t know why I didn’t try the Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher earlier! The shades available are nice and this shade especially really looks lovely, probably on most skintones. Moreover the blusher is very affordable. On the official site it retails for 7.80 US$. I bought my Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher on W2Beauty for 8.23 US$, which is a good price, considering the low shipping costs compared to Etude House official shop. For those living in the US you might want to check out the prices on Amazon, too. Did you try the Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher already? Which is your favourite shade?

Berries in the Snow 2nd Bloganniversary Giveaway

10. June 2015

Honestly speaking, this giveaway is 2 month delayed! I was going to celebrate Berries in the Snow’s 2nd Bloganniversary in March or April and now we have June already…time is passing quickly :’D When I started BitS I never thought about having it for any specific time, but seeing now that I’m still enjoying my reviews and other posts I’m kind of proud of myself. I never thought that people will enjoy reading my posts, but seeing that I have so many regular readers and blogger friends really makes me happy.

Berries in the Snow 2nd Bloganniversary Giveaway

When I’m looking back to the first posts I made I feel a bit ashamed, too. Naturally, I didn’t know much about blogging (and I still know too few), and my posts were not the best ones. Sorry, for that! I’m also a bit sad that I didn’t have time to fix all the pictures from the old post since I transferred my blog from Blogspot to WordPress. I hope I will be able to change the blurry images soon. I started to overdo some of the reviews, but it is so time-consuming and sometimes it is simply more exciting to write reviews about the new products instead of taking care of the old posts :’D

Berries in the Snow 2nd Bloganniversary Giveaway

Nevertheless, I want to thank all you wonderful people who kept reading my blog from long time ago, and I want to welcome my new readers. And there is no better way to say “thank you” than with a giveaway! I picked a couple of items, some of them I reviewed already, some I will review in the future. Review: Etude House Dreaming Swan My Blooming Lips-talk

8. May 2015

// KBEAUTY / MAKE UP //

Here is the second product I bought from Etude House’s Dreaming Swan collection, the Etude House Dreaming Swan My Blooming Lips-talk. I also bought the powder brush from this collection and you can have a look at the review >>here<<.

Etude House Dreaming Swan My Blooming Lips-talk

Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adoreable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging…The new Dreaming Swan collection is fully dedicted to the topic of ballerinas, with light colors and a beautifully designed packaging. You will find pretty illustrations of ballerinas, ballerina shoes, tutus…The collection consists of lipsticks, eye and cheek blushers, powder pact, nail polish, cushion cases, cream multi shadows, a pouch and a powder brush. I chose the Etude House Dreaming Swan My Blooming Lips-talk in shade PP501, which was the darkest shade from the collection. I’m always doubtful about brighter shades on my lips, because they tend to settle more obviously into my lip lines than darker shades. The Etude House Dreaming Swan My Blooming Lips-talk comes in a cardboard box packaging displaying one of the illustrations from the Kerry Hess, the collaborating illustrator. Let’s enjoy the sight of this beautiful packaging first:

Etude House Dreaming Swan My Blooming Lips-talk

I really like the ballerina theme, although it is super girly actually! The cardboard box also displays the Korean and English product description and ingredients. You can also check out the ingredients >>here<< (it is for one of the other shades, but it only differs in the pigments. Thanks Evelyn for adding it to COSDNA ♥). Good thing: the ingredients contain titanium dioxide for UV protection. The lipstick itself comes in the typically shaped Etude House lipstick containers It has a light pink color and a white bow at the bottom. You can remove the bow and use it as a ring for example.

Etude House Dreaming Swan My Blooming Lips-talk

The bullet is protected by a metal part, which is illustrated with bows and ballet shoes. There is also a typical Etude House emblem imprinted on the bullet. On the bottom of the lipstick you’ll find the manufacturing date of the product.

Etude House Dreaming Swan My Blooming Lips-talk

PP501 is a pink/ rose shaded color. According to the promotional pictures it looks less pink than the other lipstick colors from the Dreaming Swan collection. There are 5 shades in total. Below you can see how the lipstick looks when swatched on the back of my hand and how it looks on my lips. The lipstick has a light rose scent, which is not noticable once applied on the lips.

Etude House Dreaming Swan My Blooming Lips-talk

Honestly speaking, I’m not liking this lipstick too much. The formula is very difficult to work with. If you have dried and chapped lips don’t use it at all! My first picture for this lipstick looked terrible and the lipstick was settling into all the lines and looking patchy and just not nice. The only way I can wear this lipstick it either using lipbalm before, which means that the lipstick is not lasting at all, or as a base color for some gradient lips. I love the packaging! And I like the rose scent. But that’s it! The Etude House Princess Happy Ending Lipsticks had a far better formula than these. These don’t glide as smoothly and make the lips feel dry after a while. I would not recommend you to buy these, unless you want to collect them because of the packaging. There are still some available on ebay. On the official Etude House Global Store I couln’t find the lipsticks anymore. I bought mine from W2Beauty, but they are not listed there anymore. The price of these lipsticks lies around 10 US$.

Review: Etude House Dreaming Swan Veiling Pact Brush

27. April 2015

// KBEAUTY / MAKE UP //

It seems I’m addicted to buy at least one item per year from Etude Houses spring collections. This time I fell for the Etude House Dreaming Swan Veiling Pact Brush from the Dreaming Swan collection, a ballet inspired collection designed by Kerry Hess, a popular fashion illustrator.

Etude House Dreaming Swan Veiling Pact Brush

Some words about Etude House to start with: Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. The latter is the one I’m showing here! Unfortunately, there was no brush set.  would have totally loved that. The Etude House Dreaming Swan Veiling Pact Brush comes in a plastic packaging displaying one of the illustrations from the illustrator Kerry Hess. The backside of the packaging shows the Korean and English description.

Etude House Dreaming Swan Veiling Pact Brush

You’ll find the full description of the product on the official Etude House page, too. The description says that the Veiling Pact Brush helps powder particles to be absorbed evenly and prevents smudging. Moreover the slightly cutted edged help to reach curved areas as well and more easily than other brushes. The brush is designed for powdery textures and comes with a brush bristle protector, which looks like a ballerina tutu. I would lie if I told you that the brush tutu is not the main reason why I bought this brush :D I think it makes a simple brush look so much more lovely ♥

Etude House Dreaming Swan Veiling Pact Brush

The brush itself has a pink handle and a rosegold metal part. The bristles are super soft and pink colored, which a light coral hint at the tips. The bristles are cut slightly, which gives the brush a round shape. The bristles take up powder nicely, too. The pink design fits very good into the overall theme of the collection.

Etude House Dreaming Swan Veiling Pact Brush

As a lover of cute and girly packaging of any items you will love this brush. I do already, although the packaging might be considered super girly or corny by some. I’m definitively not an brush expert, but as far as I can say it also does a good job in taking up the powder and in the application aswell. I bought my brush from W2Beauty for 13.86 US$. For my last order, including this brush and a lipstick from the same collection, I received a whole bunch of samples like sheet masks and even a travel size jar of the Laneige Waterbank Sleeping Cream. I couldn’t have been more satisfied with my purchase! ♥

Review: Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes Rose Garden

3. April 2015

Again, Etude House made me buy something because of its lovely packaging. I’m not using eyeshadows often and I definitively have enough eyeshadows to use up, nevertheless I ended up buying the Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes Rose Garden eyeshadow palette. I was so happy when it finally arrived at my doorstep that I had to try it right away :D

Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes Rose Garden

Some words about Etude House to start with: Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adoreable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging…Two new eyeshadow palettes were released, called Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes Rose Garden and Cherry Blossom, both perfect for announcing spring time containing pink eyeshadow colors. After some consideration I decided for the Rose Garden palette. Since both are limited editions I don’t know how long they will be availavble.

Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes Rose Garden

This small eyeshadow palette (actually it is smaller than my mobile phone) comes with a very pretty cardboard box printed with a rose pattern, which fits to the theme. The backside of the cardboard box contains English and Korean description. The eyeshadow palette itself is made of white plastic with roses all over. When flipped open, you can see that the lid contains a mirror and that the palette comes with 6 different eyeshadow shades. The eyeshadows are separated by a plastic (which has the names of the shades printed on) from the lid. There is also a sponge applicator included, which I don’t use, because it doesn’t pick up enough color.

Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes Rose Garden

The colors are pretty and fit well together. They also fit nicely to the topic of roses. Juliette is a sheer pink toned eyeshadow, perfect as base shadow. Honey Bouquet has the most shimmer particles and is a light golden shade. It is nice for highlightening and the inner corner of the eyes. Although Antique Touch looks quite matte and brown it has a nice bronze sheen and is, together with Handtied, the most pigmented eyeshadow of the palette. Vintage Rose is a nice highlighting shade in a warm light pink shade and fits nicely to Honey Bouquet. And last, My Girl, which is the most matte shade out of the palette.

Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes Rose Garden

Here are the swatches of the eyeshadows. I used an eyeshadow base before, otherwise the swatches are too sheer and don’t show off nicely.  My favourites are Honey Bouquet and Vintage Rose. I tried to create an eyeshadow look below, too, although I must excuse my limited skills :D My eye does also look a bit tear-y because I have caught a cold and I’m struggeling with lots of tissues for my nose right now :D

Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes Rose Garden

When using my eyeshadow brushes I don’t have much of a fall-off from the eyeshadows. Since the shades are light and mostly sheer fall-off isn’t easily visible anyways. I like that the shimmery shades are not overly glittery, but rather look lovely. All in all a pretty palette with some nice pink toned eyeshadow colors that have been missing in my collection so far. What do you think? Did you buy any of these two palettes? You can still get this one at Beautynetkorea for 13.50 US$.
