Review: Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint

12. March 2015

// KBEAUTY / MAKEUP / AFFILIATE LINKS //

This product has probably been reviewed dozends of times in the blogger comunity, nevertheless I would love to share my opinion about it with you. The Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint is most likely one of the best known and still best selling products from Etude House. Koreans love their lip tints and if you like tint you’ll find so many different ones. And although I love tints, too, I did not purchase too many yet, simply because this is the only lip product I actually seem to use up after a while :D By the way, is anybody interested in a lip product collective post? :D

Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint

Some words about Etude House to start with: Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adoreable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging…Also here, the packaging design looks lovely. As the name says, the packaging is covered with cherries all over. The design of the cardboard box is kind of pinup- vintage style and really lovely. There are four different shades for this tint and each of them has packaging colors fitting to the color of the product. The Etude House Fresh Cherry tint I bought is in shade RD301, Cherry Red.

Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint

Apart from the cute cardboard box packaging the liptint itself comes in a cute bottle, too. The description on the cardboard box is in Korean and in English. The lip tint is supposed to offer moisture and shiny lips. It is a cream/milk type tint, in contrast to watertype tints like Benetint, for example. You can find the ingredients of the lip tint on Etude House Official. According to COSDNA there are no harmful ingredients.

Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint

The bottom of the bottle and the top of the cardboard box reveal the shade of the lip tint. On the bottom of the bottle you’ll find the production date printed, too! When the Etude House Official Online store opened a lot of customers were confused with that, because they thought it is the expiration date.

Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint

The cap of the bottle comes with the applicator brush. The tint itself is creamy and feels moisturizing. It gives the lips a nice glossy and plumping effect. The Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint smells and tastes fruity and I love that point. colorwise it is less cherry red but more cherry pink toned. I had some samples of this tint before, so I knew about the color.

Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint

The tint looks pretty on the lips. As you can see in the pictures below the color of the tint is more visible in the center of my lips. I encountered this with many tint products. Nevertheless, it gives your lips a nice pop of color and the stain is lasting some time, too. As usual, it won’t stay as you apllied it after eating/drinking, but a hint of color will remain.

Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint

This tint has several advantages: it is cheap, it gives a nice pop of color to your lips, it smells and tastes delicious! Moreover, I didn’t feel that the lip tint is drying on my lips. The downside may be that it tends to gather up in the inside of the lips, so some won’t like the way the lip tint applies. If you love lip tints you need one of these in your collection! I bought mine from Etude House official online store. It retails for 6 US$ there, but shipping is high and I would recommend you to wait for some free shipping event and make a larger purchse. You can also get this from W2Beauty for 4.50 US$ or from testerkorea for 4300 Won (~4.50 US$).

Review: Etude House Missing U! Hand Cream Pink Dolphin

16. February 2015

Here is a quick review of the well-known Etude House Missing U! Hand Cream in Pink Dolphin. I received this item as part of a MeMeBox and I was very delighted to see this product at this time. In first place, the packaging was absolutely lovely and I wanted to try one of Etude House’s hand creams anyway.

Etude House Missing U! Hand Cream Pink Dolphin Some words about Etude House to start with: Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. The Etude House Missing U! Hand Creams are no regular tube hand creams, but they are packed in a container. There are four different types, each shaped like a specific animal. The hand cream I’m showing here is supposed to be a pink dolphin, although I thought it is a duck or something like this. The other animals available are a seal, a penguin and a panda. Each of them has another scent symbolized by a flower held by the animal. The Etude House Missing U! Pink Dolphin shows a rose shaped flower.

Etude House Missing U! Hand Cream Pink Dolphin Apart from the container even the cardboard box is beautifully designed and displays an island and palms and ocean. The description is in Korean and English. The cardboard box is made from recycled paper and is printed with soy ink, too. The ingredients are mainly shea butter, herbal extracts and olive oil in order to provide moisture to your hands. The full ingredients list is also displayed on the cardboard box and you can have a look at it on Etude House Global site too. According to COSDNA the hand cream contains safe ingredients.

Etude House Missing U! Hand Cream Pink Dolphin I really do like the container of the Etude House Missing U! Hand Cream, but I musst say that the volume of it, being only 30 ml is quite few compared to drugstore tube hand creams. The hand cream has a shelf life of 12 months after opening. On the bottom of the container you’ll find the production date of the cream.

Etude House Missing U! Hand Cream Pink Dolphin Etude House Missing U! Hand Cream is a cream type hand cream. It has a light structure and feels watery upon application. The cream has a rose scent which is lovely.

Etude House Missing U! Hand Cream Pink Dolphin Each of these Etude House Missing U! Hand Creams retail at 4.50 US$ on the official Etude House store. I personally think the price is quite expansive for a hand cream of this volume, but it is most likely a result of the cute container. Actually, after emptying this container you can still use it for either other creams or anything else you want…or just as decoration.

How To Winterize Your Nails

27. January 2015

As you know, here in Germany we are in the midth of winter, which means we have a cold and mostly rainy weather here. You’ll feel such changes during the seasons also on your skin, as it feels drier than usual. And it is not only the skin, but also your hair and nails. Julep, a beauty company for cosmetics, nail color, and skincare, shared their nailcare tips with me and I wanted to share them with you and add some of my own tips on how to winterize your nails, since I really liked the idea of writing a post like this (

How To Winterize Your Nails

So, what are specific nail care advices in order to winterize your nails? First of all, you should not neglate your nails during winter, even if you wear gloves and closed shoes you should still think of your nails. Most important is, to regulary clip and shape your nails. I usually don’t have very long nails and in winter I prefer shorter nails anyways, because of wearing gloves for example. When I’m having long nails they tend to break easily, because they get stuck into the wool of the gloves sometimes. Another very important point is to remove the loose skin and cuticles, if you have any. You can prevent this by moisturizing your hands as often as possible and also using hand or finger masks on a regular basis. I reviewed a nail/finger maks some time ago, which I really liked for this purpose. You can check out my review on Etude House Help My Finger Nail Finger Pack here. Here is a list of some helpful tips on how to winterize your nails:

How To Winterize Your Nails

Recently, I discovered some Korean handcreams which I really like and love to use often in these colder days. Below you’ll see my two favourite hand creams, the Etude House Missing U hand cream, which comes in an adorable container and smells of roses, and the Shib Jang Ceng Chun Ji Heang hand cream, which was part of the MeMeBox Oriental Medicine. The latter contains ginseng extracts, shea butter and olive oil and feels really nourishing. If you feel your nails are still dry desprite using hand creams, I can recommend you to use nail oil. I bought one from a local drug store from the brand p2. It is called One Drop Fitness Oil and contains soy, sweet almond and sunflower oil for deep nourishment and hydration.

How To Winterize Your Nails

Even though it might be that we wear gloves I use nail polish from time to time. My best tip for you in cold seasons is to use a nail polish drier. It reduces the time of your nail polish to dry largely. I discovered the Etude House Help My Finger Quick Drop Drier some time ago and it belongs to my favourite items now.

How To Winterize Your Nails

Here are some color inspirations for your winterized nails. You can get these specific colors from Julep. I never tried their nail polishes, but I’ve read positive reviews about them. I really do like the colors Joanne and Shari, because they look like they go well with almost every style. In general, I think you never can go wrong with a classic red nail polish for every season of the year. In the image above I used Etude House Play nail polish in shade 52.

How To Winterize Your Nails

What are your winterizing nail care advices?

Just as a short reminder: This is an advertorial post for http://www.julep.com/. I wasn't paid for this post and I'm sharing my honest opinion throughout this post.

Graveyard: November and December Empties 2014

14. January 2015

Here are the last empties I’ve got for you from 2014. I also changed the design of my product graveyard cover image. Hope you like it :D I’m still not sure if this will be final though. Now, have fun reading about my emtied products for the last two months (I didn’t keep sheet masks and other masks, and also no sample sachets…it would simply be too much…and also too messy ;)

November and December Empties 2014

1. Laneige Waterbank Essence: Repurchase? Yes, if I can afford it XD

A very nice and moisturizing essence. A pitty Laneige is quite expensive, otherwise I would have bought the fullsized product already. A review is upcoming.

2. Nivea Soft Milk: Repurchase? Yes.

I bought this a couple of times and since it is cheap and locally available I would always get another one when needed.

3. Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumescara: Repurchase? Yes, but I still want to try various different asian mascaras first.

A volumizing and lengthening mascara. You can turn it and change the amount of mascara on the brush by rotating in three steps. See my review >>here<<.

4. Tunemakers Original Moisture Lotion? Repurchase? Yes, but I have a lot of new toners to test first.

This water based toner has a light acid pH and not many, but good ingredients, like hylanoronic acid, honey, ceramide and collagen. If you love products with few ingredients which are natural you should check out Tunemakers. Read my review >> here <<.

5. Anatomicals sud the lot of you get lost grime body cleanser: Repurchase? No.

Nothing special about this body cleanser to be honest. The scent wasn’t spectacular either.

6. Dita von Teese Rouge Shower Gel: Repurchase? Yes!

I told you already how much I love the Dita von Teese Rouge Body Lotion and Perfume and I do love the shower gel, too. The scent also lingers quite some time on your skin and is amazing! Love it ♥

7. Lush Sugar Scrub: Repurchase? Maybe.

This scrub was really nice, but I don’t like the packaging because it has no protection for the scrub. If you do not put it in another container it will melt away in the shower as soon as it gets wet. The scent was nice though and the grains did a good scrub on my body.

8. Shiseido Ibuki Softening Lotion: Repurchase? Yes, but it is too expensive…

I really like the scent of the Ibuki line and this softening toner really softens the skin. I did like using it, but it is too expensive to be rebought atm.

9. Donginbi Donginbidam Red Gingseng Aqua Oil & Red Ginseng Aqua Pack Essence: Repurchase? Yes and No.

This set was part of Memebox Oriental Medicine and from the two products I really liked the Aqua Oil better, which was a watery and ungreasy facial oil. The essence was okay, but nothing special. I think this is more on the expensive side which is why I would not repurchase it. Other than this it was an interesting line and brand. Review is upcoming.

10. Avène Cleansing Lotion: Repurchase? No.

This mild cleansing lotion unfortunately didn’t remove makeup as I expected. If you have gentle skin you will like it, and if you don’t wear makeup you will like it, too. Other than that it is not really useful.

11. Hairich Vedacell Hair Program Shampoo: Repurchase? No.

This herbal shampoo was part of Memebox Global No. 8 and it targets hair growth and vitality, similar to the Damoae Therapy Shampoo. I liked the effects from the Damoae shampoo better and my hair was softer after washing it. If I would go for a herbal shampoo, I would go for Damoae.

12. Declaré Anti- Irritation Serum: Repurchase? No.

I was not convinced by this serum, especially compared to asian serums I tried. It was too sticky, when applied alone! But the application with included pipette in the cap was nice and the scent was pleasant, too. And it did a great job in moisturizing the skin. Read my review >> here <<.

13. D’Ran wonder Serum: Repurchase? No.

This serum is packed with great ingredients used in traditional korean and chinese medicine. I liked using it and it had a nice and calming ginseng scent. Read my review >> here <<.

14. Etude House Aloe Moistful Soothing Gel: Repurchase? Yes, or maybe another aloe gel

The Etude House aloe soothing gel comes in a convenient pump packaging, which was the reason for me to buy it. It is soothing and refreshing for face and body and perfect for warm weather. I could imagine buying another Aloe gel for summer. Read my review >> here <<.

15. MAX Clinic Caviar Massage Oil Form Cleanser: Repurchase? No.

I had high hopes for this cleanser since it sounds very luxurious, just from the name. I didn’t like the citrus scent and it was not the best oil cleanser I encountered. Read my review >> here <<.

16. Missha Vita M BB Cream Moisture: Repurchase? Maybe.

A light BB cream with a glowy finish. I love Missha BB creams, but the Perfect Cover BB is still my favourite. Read my review >> here <<. Anyways, I could not repurchase it at the moment because I have too many BB creams :D

Review: Etude House Color Lips-fit

8. January 2015

I showed you previously the products I received from the Honestskin Special Gift Event and the Etude House Color Lips-fit was one of the products I received. This liquid lipstick line from Etude House was released in summer 2014. I’ve been curious to try it since then, but I had too many lipsticks around and moreover I wasn’t sure if I would like the matte texture, which it is supposed to provide. Here is my impression on the Etude House Color Lips-fit:

EH_ColorLipsFit_1

Some words about Etude House to start with: Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adoreable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging…Also here, the packaging design looks lovely. You’ll find dots and bows and stars all over the packaging. The color of the cardboard packaging is pink, of course. There are 7 shades available for the Color Lips-fot, plus a glossy top coat, if you prefer a glossy finish instead of a matte one. I received shade OR201 called “Dream Fit Coral”. I rarely buy light shades myself, because it usually lookd awkward on me, if it is not even and opaque enough, because my natural lip color is darker. I was especially curious, having received this shade, how it will turn out on my lips.

EH_ColorLipsFit_2

The cardboard packaging contains descriptions in Korean and English. Since Etude House has opened also an online worldwide store, you’ll also find the English description there, plus the ingredients for the products. According to COSDNA the ingredients of the product are safe. It even contains titanium dioxide as sunprotection.

EH_ColorLipsFit_3

The bottle itself has a beautiful design, too, with the same stars, bows and dots as the cardboard packaging. It is a see-through plastic bottle, so you see the color of your liquid lipstick. As you can see in my images, the color looks a bit uneven in the bottle. Keep in mind to shake the bottle before you use it. It contains 10 g of product and comes with a white cap with an attached angled applicator sponge.

EH_ColorLipsFit_4

The product itself feels soft and smooth while applying. It dries off to a matte product after a while and feels velvety on the lips. It is not transfer proof, unfortunately, and smears off easily, as you can see in my swatches below.

EH_ColorLipsFit_5

Since it is a bright color is is unforgivable to dry lips and it will settle in all your lip lines and make the product look patchy. This makes it difficult to apply an even and oaque layer. If you have pigmented lips the challenge will be harder. I’ll show you the Etude House Color Lips-fit on my lips below. It is a very bright coral shade, almost neonlike…definitively a summer color.

EH_ColorLipsFit_6

Since it is not smear or transfer proof it is also not long-lasting. It wears off very quickly and in the case of this shades also leaves a ugly stain on the borders of your lips, which I don’t like at all. If you have brighter lips naturally, the effect might be different on you, but if you have darker lips than this color it will not look very nice. I’d love to try a darker shade to compare, but for the moment I personally would not rebuy the Etude House Color Lips-fit. Apart from the color, the short staying power and the feeling of dry lips after half an hour puts me off. The velvet finish on the other site is a nice one and also the texture glides smoothly on the lips while applying. You can buy this product from honestskin for 6.71 US$, which is agood value. Shipping depends on the amount of products you buy. Oh, another thing, you will get some points when you register on their page, and you can also collect more points for doing reviews of the product on their. These points can be spent as money for your future order. Check out about this >>here<<.

Top 20 asian cosmetics products 2014

7. January 2015

Hello my dearest readers! Happy new year to all of you! I know I’m a bit late for a roundup of last year, but I didn’t want to start into 2015 with simply a new review, which is why I decided to show you my favourite 20 asian cosmetics products which I reviewed in 2014. It was quite difficult to decide because I have quite a few products I liked last year, but I could shorten it to 20 products, including makeup, skincare, nails, masks and even a hair product. I still have some products I bought last year, but I didn’t review them, and I decided to not include them into my top 20 of 2014, but rather save them for this year, after I did the reviews :) Here is my selection of products:

Top 20 asian cosmetics products 2014

Honestskin Special Gift Event

20. December 2014

As you know there are a lot of different retailer selling asian cosmetics products in the world wide web. I’m trying to check out different shops in order to see which one offers the best service and good prices on the same time and it’s been a while that I subscribed for honestskin‘s newsletter. But somehow, although they have a lot of discounts, I never ordered anything myself, but after I read about The Beauty Code’s experience I was curious and applied for the Special Gift Event– and I was lucky to be one of the selected winners of a gift package. So here is my experience with honestskin so far:

Honestskin Special Gift Event

Honestskin is an online shopping mall run by the Silicon Two Inc. in Korea. They claim to have authentic products, a huge range of different products and fast delivery. They ship internationally, too. Their page is easy to navigate and already displays all the different brands they offer on the front page.

Honestskin Special Gift Event

As I said, I follow their newsletter for quite some time and I recognized that they offer a lot of different discounts and special sales. The only downside is, that they don’t offer free shipping. Instead, they have a way to collect the shipping price in dependence to the amount of items you buy. If you buy 1-3 items you pay 5 US$, for 4-6 items you will already pay 9 US$…(see details >>here<<) Actually, it would be better to pay for the weight instead of number of items.

So, apart from their regular discounts they have also this so called special gift event you can apply for. They also seem to have other events from time to time, like the Sponsor Event they offer at the moment (if you are a blogger you should try to apply for it ;) ). In the event I took part, I received a package containing three korean beauty products. The parcel arrived after 11 days of shipping, which is a good shipping time for packages from Korea. All three items were packed in bubble wrap. I received  Iope Super Vital Cream VIP Special Gift, Etude House Color Lips-Fit in shade #OR201 Dream Fit Coral and Nature Republic Collagen HD Essencial BB Cream. The products were undamadged, too :)

Honestskin Special Gift Event

Oh, another thing, you will get some points when you register on their page, and you can also collect more points for doing reviews of the product on their page. These points can be spent as money for your future order. I always like the idea of being rewarded :) Check out about this >>here<<.

I’m happy about my gifts and I will review them within the next time, so if you are curious about any of these items watch out for future posts. I hope this quick shop introduction was helpful for you :)

Unboxing: MeMeBox My Cute Wishlist No. 4

17. December 2014

When I received and reviewed the MeMeBox My Cute Wishlist No. 1 I ordered MeMeBox My Cute Wishlist No.3 and 4 shortly afterwards. I was a bit dissapointed with No. 3, although it really contained some products which I use and like, but it simply didn’t give me the impression of being a “cute” box. Now, it’s time to show you the content of the most recent MeMebox My Cute Wishlist No.4, although it arrived some weeks ago:

Unboxing: MeMeBox My Cute Wishlist No. 4

MeMeBox is a box service company, offering a wide amount of different beauty boxes. Unlike most western beauty boxes which have to be subscribed for on a monthly basis, MeMeBoxes can be preordered but that doesn’t force you to buy more than the desired box. They ship to many countries and the products they send in their boxes are mainly Korean. Apart from their monthly Global Boxes, they also have a huge amount of themed boxes, MiniBoxes, Boxes where you know what is inside, so called Superboxes with a higher value and so on (check out the links at the end of the post)…just check out their online store and you’ll find a huge selection of different boxes. Since they have become very popular within the blogger community they sell out pretty fast, but they bring up new beauty boxes so fast, that you cannot keep up with them anyways. That was at least my experience during this year. At the moment they seem to be focusing on their own brand and some collaborations with well-known blogger in the asian beauty blogger community. At the end of this post I will make a list of all the discounts they offer at the moment, too.

Unboxing: MeMeBox My Cute Wishlist No. 4

“We bring you, the latest edition of our Meme-fans’ most favorite series, My Cute Wishlist #4!

For endless days and nights, we scoured through the entire country searching for the cutest, most lovable beauty products in the world! We went through a deluge of beauty product wonders and carefully selected only the best to bring you a box packed with whimsical – and effective- beauty products that will once again make the My Cute Wishlist series a Memebox fan favorite!

Loaded with some seriously adorable and hard-to-find beauty loot—straight from the hotbed of cute beauty products – this My Cute Wishlist #4 will make you ridiculously giddy with excitement!

Who else does cute like we do?”

According to the description, this MeMebox should contain a huge amount of super adorable products, which are partially not well known to the Korean beauty lovers. A first peek inside the box reveals that this box is far more fit for the My Cute Wishlist theme than the previous one- yet the amount of unknown products is kept at bay because surprisingly it contains some of the well known brands like Tonymoly, Holika Holika and even Etude House. Two other brands in this box are at least a name to the frequent MeMeBox buyers like ddung and the japanese brand Pure Smile. The only brand I didn’t know about is Yadah.

Unboxing: MeMeBox My Cute Wishlist No. 4

According to the product card, which comes with each box,  the MeMeBox My Cute Wishlist contains 8 fullsized products. I did some research on the Yadag creams, which have a fun design and I liked them from the first glance and I discovered that the creams are availbale in 50 ml jars. I don’t think that these two 5 ml jars are fullsize products, but rather deluxe samples. Anyways…let’s take a closer look at the content:

1 & 2. Yadah Vita-Whitening Aqua Gel and Puregreen Moisturizing Cream (fullsized product, each 5ml for US24)

I was happy when I saw these cute jars with the fun design. Since I didn’t know the brand I was curious to test them right away and both creams seem nice and feel moisturizing when tested on the back of my hand. I will make a more in-depth review once I tried them properly. Although described as fullsized items they are not. You can find the fullsized jars of the cream on the official brand page for 21000 Won (50 ml), which is around 21 US$. The two tiny sample jars here are worth 3000 Won (~3 US$)!

3. Tonymoly Apple Red Tox Honey Cream (fullsized product, 80ml for 12 US$)

This product from Tonymoly has a lovely design. I really adore the apple shaped container! This cream smells so nice of sweet apples and is not comparable to artificial apple scent. Also the structure of this yellow gel cream reminds me of apple purée…just it is more fluid :D It comes with a spoon and I love to use it over night as sleeping mask. I have no complaint about this one so far ♥

4. Etude House Sweet Recipe Candy Stick (fullsized product, 2g for 5US$)

Unfortunately, I received one of these already with the MeMeBox My Cute Wishlist No.1. At least it is not the same, but another shade called seedless strawberry candy. I didn’t open it because I have a lot of lip balms at the moment. It fits for the Christmas season at least.

5. Pure Smile Snail Hand Cream Milk (fullsized product, 60g for 5US$)

This hand cream has a cute design and it contains snail mucus. So I like it although I only tested it once so far. I will use up my other hand creams before I start with this one, but at the moment I’m using hand creams often because it is so cold here. It is good to have a tube in backup. :D

6. Tonymoly Egg Pore Nose Pack (fullsize product, 7ea for 4US$)

Since the moment Tonymoly renewed their packaging of the Egg Pore line I wanted to try a product from it. I think the design is very pretty although simple and the egg makes it somehow even cute. ♥ It is great that they included a whole box of these containing 7 pieces :)

7. ddung Liquid Eye Liner (fullsized product, 5ml for for 15 US$)

I use eye liner daily and it is great to have one in this box, especially since this box is mainly focused on skincare. I will use this for sure although the packaging design is nothing I would buy personally.

8. Holika Holika Pig Nose Clear Blackhead Steam Starter (fullsized product, 30ml for 6 US$)

I love this packaging! I don’t have a lot of Holika Holika products either, which makes me even more happy to receive one with a MeMeBox. The pink tube with the dots and the pig snout looks really cute and I’m looking forward to try it :) ♥

9. Pure Smile Choosey Lip Pack Milk (fullsized product, 1ea for 1US$)

I received one of these lip maks in an earlier box and it was fun to try. Also, this time the essence is milk type so I’m curious how the two versions compare. Maybe I make a review on both, too :)

Below you’ll see all the products of the box:

Unboxing: MeMeBox My Cute Wishlist No. 4

All in all, this box is a nice one, although probably not the best one I received so far. MeMeBox My Cute Wishlist No.4 has its focus on skincare mainly. The variety is nice, too! The products selected fit to the topic of the My Cute Wishlist and it contains products from some brands which are well known for their cute packaging design like Holika Holika, Etude House and Tonymoly. From the description of the box I would have expected some unknown brands, too, but the only real unknown treassure I found is the Yadah creams, which come in sample size jars -although claimed to be fullsized products by MeMeBox. I think this box would have a much more possitive feedback if they would have included a real fullsized product from this new Korean natural cosmetics brand. By the way, the brand name stands for “Young Adults with Determination to Achieve Happiness”. I’d like to see more products of this brand in future boxes…

What do you think of this box? Any product you love?

Review: Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

5. December 2014

A while ago Etude House released an adorable nail polish line called Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails. There was a “Sweet Idea” competition called out by Etude House and the fans could participate and send in their suggestions. One of them was selected and realized. I really think this is a great idea to involve the fans of Etude House by such competitions, and I have to say that this line truly is a cute gift idea– or maybe also a treat for yourself….:)

Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

First of all, some words about Etude House: Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. The Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails set consists of two nail polish bottles, each designed like one half of a rabbits face. Together they form the complete rabbit. There are 5 different sets available, each rabbit face has another facial expression though:

No. 01 Dalmatian Bunny : Black Bunny Glitter + White French
No. 02 Analog Bunny : White Bunny Glitter + Black French
No. 03 Pink Milky way Bunny : Lavender Pink + Silver Spangle French
No. 04 Red Carrot Bunny : Cherry Red + Shimmering Gold French
No. 05 Mint Gold Moon Bunny : Retro Mint + Jewel Gold Pearl Powder

I selected No. 04, because I think the red and gold combination is best suited for the upcoming festative season :)

Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

As you can see, the packaging design is really pretty and everybody loving these cute packaging designs will fall in love with it. Each of the two nail polish bottles contains 4 ml of product. The backside of the cardboard box contains description in Korean and in English, but you can also find these information on the official global webpage of Etude House. You will also find the ingredients there :)

Even removed from the cardboard box the bottles look adorable ♥

The two nail polish bottles come with two different brushes: The red polish has a normal polish brush. The golden polish has a thin brush and you can draw easily dots or lines with it. I really like this idea. I used the nail polish in the picture below and I applied one layer of the red nail polish. As you can see the color is opaque. It also dries in a good time (it is not super quickly drying, but it doesn’t take long time either).

Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

I think the Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails are a cute gift idea. I don’t have any complaints about these and they do a good job as nail polish. The thin brush for one of the polishes makes it easy to do some nail art, if you like, too. I received mine from  KollectionK for 7.10 US$, but it is sold out there at the moment. You can also get this from testerkorea for 4500 Won (around 4,50 US$). What do you think of the Sweet Idea competition?

♥ PS: Check out my post on Beautiful AM Moisturizer and PM Vitalizer. There is a giveaway for you, too :) ♥

Review: Etude House Help My Finger Part 2

14. November 2014

Yesterday, I introduced to you the Etude House Help My Finger Quick Drop Dry and today I’ll show you the second review from Etude House’s nail care line, the Etude House Help My Finger Nail Finger Pack. This is similar like a sheet mask, only it is designed for pampering your poor old nails and letting them recover from nail polish sessions :)

Etude House Help My Finger Part

First of all, some words about Etude House: Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adoreable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging…Also here, the packaging design looks lovely, displaying a nail with a happy face probably relaxing while being pampered. Scalloped pink borders all around the cardboard box frame this to an even more cute packaging. :)

Etude House Help My Finger Part

The  nail packs come in a sachet divided into two parts, one containing the finger packs for the left hand, the other for the right hand. You can tear the packaging open easily by using the indicated arrows. The backside of the sachet contains detailled product descriptions in Korean and in English. You can find the ingredients listed >>here<<. Mostly, the ingredients are safe and green flagged according to COSDNA. There are some plant and fruit extracts for nourishment of the nails and also Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, which has whitening properties.

Etude House Help My Finger Part

Below you’ll see the application on my hand. The first image shows my hand before I used the Etude House Help My Finger Nail Finger Pack. I just removed nail polish and my hand feels a bit dried up. In the second image you’ll see the tip of my fingers coated by the packs. It is like sheet mask socks on each of my fingers. These caps are covering half of my finger, so people with long fingers will also be able to use it. Also, as you can see, there is also space left in each cap for those with bigger hands (any male reader amongst us?!). In the last image you see my fingers after removing the caps (after around 15 minutes).

Etude House Help My Finger Part

As you can see, the tips are soaked nicely with essence. The essence is a milky type and smells of fruity yoghurt, which I like personally. Also, the sachets contain a lot of excess essence, you can use it on other days, like a hand cream…if you press on the opened sachet parts it will stick together tightly and be even usable after some weeks (that’s what I discovered at least while tidying up my room ^_^’). The finger packs have a rough and a smooth side. The smooth side is for pampering you nail, the rough side for the other side of you finger. I didn’t know what function it has, except of trying to make your life easier in these 15 minutes while using you hands.

Etude House Help My Finger Part

It takes a couple of seconds for the moisture to fully absorb, but your skin feels super soft afterwards. I must say it has a tiny sticky feeling to it though, but if you use it before going to bad it will hardly disturb you. It was a bit tricky to separate the single caps from each other when I took them out of the sachet. Especially the second hand is difficult, if you already hooded your other hand before. But nevertheless it was a nice experience and my nails were happy about the pampering time. Next I would love to try a full hand mask :) I received mine from  KollectionK for 1.69US$. I think the price is very reasonable.
