Guestpost: Round-up: The Cutest Cat Cosmetics

I love Asian cosmetics for two reasons: firstly, the quality is great. I have very sensitive skin. Most western drugstore brands make my skin react. However, I have no problem with Korean and Japanese products from inexpensive brands like Etude House and Nature Republic.

The second (less important) reason is the packaging. When I see something cute, it’s easy to get me to part with my money! Korean brands often team up with some of my favorite characters like Line Friends and Gudetama.

Given that I run a cat blog, it’s no surprise that I’m a sucker for any makeup with a cat theme. Many brands have made adorable cat items. It’s mostly just the outer packaging that has a feline appearance, but Japanese company Felissimo recently made a hand cream with the fragrance of a cat’s paw!

In this post, Fräulein Schnee has kindly invited me to share five of the cutest cat-themed makeup items I’ve ever seen.

1. Skin79 – Animal Mask (Angry Cat)

Sheet masks with animal faces have become very popular in the last year or two. Not only are they fun to look at, but they have all the benefits you’d expect in a Korean sheet mask. In the animal mask series from Skin79 there are three options – Angry cat, Dry money or Dark panda. These have different properties for various skin problems. Angry cat contains aloe and tea tree extracts to soothe irritated and troubled skin. It claims to moisturize and purify rough, flaky, dry and lifeless skin.

2. Miss Hana x Choo Choo Cat – Waterproof Eyeliner Kit

The Choo Choo cat series is a range of adorable cat artwork from Korean company Jetoy. The cats can be found on postcards, teacups, purses…and now a makeup collaboration with Miss Hana! The Miss Hana x Choo Choo Cat Waterproof Eyeliner kit contains four colors – black, brown and glitter versions of both. The pretty metal case also includes a sharpener. This is one item I’d buy just for the packaging. The blue-eyed white cat actually looks like a lot like my pet Saus (you can see my favorite picture of her at the top of this post – she’s so silly!). I found the advert for this collaboration set and it’s so adorable I melted:

3. Holika Holika x Audrey Jeanne – Dodo Cat Glow Cushion BB

Holika Holika is a famous Korean makeup brand. You can’t walk down a street in Seoul without spotting one or two branches! But have you heard of Audrey Jeanne? Probably not. She’s a French illustrator specialising in adorable cat drawings. The Holika Holika x Audrey Jeanne collab is a strange combination but definitely a cute one. The Dodo Cat Glow Cushion contains both foundation and brightener for a natural skin glow. Used together they create a natural, radiant and flawless complexion.

4. The Face Shop – Mini Pet Sweet Perfume Hand Cream

I have already mentioned Felissimo’s strange cat-paw fragranced hand cream – but other brands have created feline-themed hand creams too! The Face Shop is one of my favorite brands when it comes to moisturisers. They are generally effective while being gentle on my sensitive skin. This Mini Pet Sweet Perfume Hand Cream has a floral fragrance (maybe how my cat smells after after I’ve washed her with scented shampoo!). It’s only 30mls so it’s small enough to pop into your handbag. There are also three other animal options to choose from if cats aren’t your thing.

5. White Cat – Super Berry Silky Eye Balm

Another Korean brand which I hadn’t come across before is actually named after a cat – White Cat. This brand is known for using nature-friendly and hypoallergenic ingredients. Not all of their products are feline themed but many of them have leopard print packaging. One such example is their Super Berry Silky Eye Balm. This product claims to provide moisture and increase elasticity in the sensitive eye area. It also improves wrinkles – I’m sold! And look at the lovely fluffy pet in their promotional image:

I would buy anything that this kitty is selling!

I hope you enjoyed this round up! If you’re not a cat lover, these items would make a good gift for a friend who is. Crazy cat ladys are easy to buy for. I would certainly love to receive them!

Graveyard: May – October Empties 2015

I realized my last product empties post was for March & April! I always took the pictures for the empties posts but never made one, so here is a massive May – October Empties 2015 post! As usual, I didn’t include any sheet mask sachets or sample sachets, because it would simply be to messy. But as far as posible I tried to document the products I used up in the past months.

Stylenanda’s 3CE Water Wrapping Facial Mask – I reviewed these before and I absolutelly love how soft the cotton of these sheet masks is and how soft and nice the essence hydrates the skin. One of my favourite moisturizing sheet masks so far. Click for the review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes!
Innisfree Jeju Bija Anti Trouble BB Cream – This was past expiration date and had to be tossed. I used it mostly mixed with other BB creams because it was to drying for dry skintypes. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? No.
Heart Face Ultra Pore Care Sleeping Pack – I was super Excited to try this Sleeping Pack since it smelled so amazingly of Rose Water. Unfortunatelly, my skin didn’t like one of the ingredients, so I ended up using it on my dry body parts like knees and elbows. Worked fine for them, a pitty though that I couln’t use it as sleeping mask. Repurchase? No.
Innisfree Eco Safety Perfect Waterproof Sunblock – This was a lovely sun cream after all. I would think about buying the fullsize or one of the other versions of it. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Maybe.
Skin House Face Calming Galactomyces Cream – I loved this cream! It absorbed nicely and made the skin feel bouncy. I used it up so quicly after all. click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes.
Forencos Selene Project Silk Mask Series – I liked some of the sheet masks from this series and I also made a second in depth review on this set of sheet masks. I didn’t like the ampoule which was included for each sheet mask though. Click for my reviews >>here<< and >>here<<. Repurchase? Probably not.
Merz Special Beauty Talent – This cream was a complete dissapointment. I didn’t like the scent and it didn’t do anything for making my skin less dry, bumpy or anything it was promised to do. Repurchase? No!
It’s Skin Have A Pomegranate Cleansing Foam – Unfortuantelly, this Foam Cleanser was too drying for my skin. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? No!
CosRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid – I did like this, although I do not have any Whiteheads to begin with. But for a AHA product this one is great. I can recommend you to check out the COSRX products in general because they do a nice job. Click for my reviews on the other COSRX products >>here<<. Repurchase? Maybe.
Skin79 BB Cream Miniatures – This were past expiration date, too. I used all of them from time to time, but I cannot say that one of these was my HG BB cream. click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? No.
Etre belle Liplift Peel Exfoliator – Pretty much an average lip scrub. I like the tube it comes in. Repurchase? No.
Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-Up Remover – I love this Point Make-Up Remover from Skinfood. It also comes in a Milk version which I want to try next. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes!
Rituals Sakura Scrub – Another product which I absolutely love! It smells so great and I cannot stop smelling my own skin after using this scrub. Same for the complete Cherry Blossom Line from Rituals! Repurchase? Yes!
Alverde Body Butter Vintage Rose – Guess what, I bought this body butter for the pretty design! It had a nice scent, too, but not as rosy as I had hoped. Nevertheless, a good product and also natural cosmetics! Repurchase? Maybe.
Benton Honest Cleansing Foam – This cleansing foam was surprisingly mild and not drying like other cleansing foams. I really enjoyed using this one, although I was really wary, because I had a negative experience with the Benton Snail Bee Steam Cream. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Maybe, if I have used up all my cleansers :D
Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel – So far my favourite suncream I used. Absorbs fast, doesn’t leave the skin sticky or oily, feels hydrating enough for dry skin. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes!
Rituals Cherry Blossom Body Milk – Also here: I love the scent of this line! Definitively want to rurchase it!
Dermasel Shower Gel Pomegranade – Just a regular showe gel. Had a nice scent, too, but it was not so lingering as the Rituals scents. Repurchase? No.
Johnson and Johnson (Bebe) Beautifying Eye Cream – I like the illuminating eye cream from Lavera much better than this one. This one didn’T absorb completelly and always left kind of a film underneath your eyes. Repurchase? No.
Meishoku DET Clear Bright & Peel Peeling Gel – Another product which I love! I can recommend you to try the MEishoku DET Clear Pelling Gels. They are perfect for using in the shower, too! I’m so sad this one is empty. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes!
Xaivita+ Goat Milk Whitening Cream – This cream is super great! I used it up quickly. It absorbs super fast and leaves the skin nourished. I still have a facial soap from this line and I want to make a review of both products together., so please be patient for more details. I can imagine to repurchase it! Repurchase? Yes.
Banila Co Clean It Zero – This mini jars of Banila Co Clean It Zero cleansing balm are great for travel! I already used the first of them, but I still have a couple more of these. There will be a review about these, too. Repurchase? Yes.
O.S.T C21.5 Vitamin C Serum – I like both vitamin C serums from O.S.T. and I can recommend you again and again to try a vitamin C serum for yourself. These are affordable and effective, too. At the moment I’m using a Vitamin C serum by MapleHolistics, but the bottle slipped out of my hand some days ago, so I will be out of vitamin C serum again…Probably I’m going for O.S.T again. Coreana SHO EGFactor Eye Cream – One of the best eye cream tubes I’ve had so far. The seringe shape was super convenient and you could close and open it easily. The cream was nice, too. I still have one of these at my bf’s house. See my review >>here<<. Repurchase? No, too expensive.
Shara Shara Fairy’s Synergy Sun Cream – Despite the creepy doll packaging and the defect pump this was not such a bad product. Nevertheless, the packaging puts me off. Repurchase? No.
Schwarzkopf Gliss Kur Ultimate Oil Elixir – I like these large jars of hair packs and treatments. This one smells of cacao. Liked it. Repurchase? Maybe.
Etude House Help My Finger Quick Drop Dry – I love these Quick Dry Drops for Nail polish. I ususally don’t have enough patience to wait ad ruin my nails almost immediatelly. These are great to prevent some of that damage. I bought a similar quick dry drop from Essence this time. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes.
Confume Argan Hair Treatment Ampoule – The Confume Argan Oil is one of my favourite hair oils at the moment. These treatment ampoules are great for a more intense treatment after washing your hair. I like them a lot. The review is still in progress though! Repurchase? Yes.
Dear by Eprani Believe in a Bottle Moistfull Booskin – One of the best Korean Toners (Skin) I tried so far! Lovely scent, makes the skin feel great and definitively worth a try! Repurchase? Yes!
Shiseido Hada Senka Hoshitsu Lotion – This Japanese Toner (Lotion) is great for homemade sheet masks or soaked cotton pads. Definitively worth a try, too. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Maybe.
Nelafantasia One day Whitener Magical Whitening Lotion – This was also past expiration date. This whitening cream contains titanium dioxide and makes the skin appear brighter. The packaging is lovely, but I didn’t use it often after all. Repurchase? No.
Alverde Repair Hair Butter – I didn’t like that at all. It was too rich to be used on dry or freshly washed hair and too hard to wash out when using as a pack before washing the hair. The scent was not to my liking either. Repurchase? No.
Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Omega Repair Hair Mask – Another Hair Pack. I liked the version from above more, though. Repurchase? No.
Ingobeau Perfect Deep Clean One-Step Cleansing Water – My first cleansing water and now I’m eager to try more. I loved this so much and it was super effective in removing all kinds of makeup. It has a nice pH, too. There will be a review, soon. Repurchase? Yes.
Nivea Care face and body cream – This was not as heavy and rich as the regular Nivea Cold Cream, but lighter. If you like Nivea you might like it. Repuchase? MAybe.
John Frida Frizz Ease Dream Curls – I like this conditioning spray from Fritt Ease. This makes my curls look more defined and nice. I bought it in the past and I can imagine to repurchase it in future again. Repurchase? Yes.
Beautiful A.M. Moisturizer and P.M. Revitalizer – A pitty these are empty know, since it starts to get colder here in Germany. Facial oils are great for my dry skin in these times. These were light oils which absorbed fast and were not heavy. Click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? I want to try other facial oils.
O’SUM’s Aloe Vera Soothing Mist – I do not use up many mists, but here I am with one. I tried to make use of the benefits of mists more often this summer. click for my review >>here<<. Repurchase? I want to try other mists, too.

Graveyard: January to March 2014

As you can see I’m a bit late for this post, but I thought I’ll put it up anyway, since I already edited the image for it :) Here are my empties for January, Febuary and March…(I also used a bunch of samples and sheet masks which I didn’t keep).

1. TheBodyShop Strawberry Body Polish- Repurchase?Yes!

I love this showering gel with the tiny strawberry particles. It smells divine and it foams up nicely too. Plus, you have these strawberry grains for a soft peeling effect. This is the second time I bought it and there will be a time when I will repurchase this again.

2. Nivea Supreme Touch Cream Shower- Repurchase? Maybe.

I love the scent of Nivea products. This one is no exception. Other than this it is a regular showering product. I like it, I would rebuy it, but I prefer testing other shower creams/gels.

3. Lush Dream Cream Hand and Body Lotion- Repurchase? Yes!

I was in love with the scent while using it and I really liked the feeling it left behind on my skin. I think I used this jar within a week and I would definitively rebuy it (but it is quite expensive compared to other body lotions…;_;).

4. Skin79 Super BB and Super Gold BB creams – Repurchase? Maybe.

These are both nice BB creams and if I would not have so many other BB creams and if the market would not keep up making new versions, I would rebuy those because they do a quite nice job- not perfect, but nice. I reviewed these in the past (>>here<<).

5. The Face Shop Mango Seed Line – Repurchase? Yes!

I really loved using these products from the MangoSeed line. If you are interested read my review >>here<<. I want to repurchase these for winter, when my skin is in need of a lot of moisture.

6. Great Length Daily Moisture Shampoo – Repurchase? No.

This Shampoo did not overwhelm me. It was not even giving me the feeling of having more moisturized hair, so I wouldn’t repurchase it.

7. Laneige Water Sleeping Pack – Repurchase? Yes.

I loved the scent, I loved the effect and there is nothing more to say. See my old review on it >>here<<.

8. Missha M Perfect Cover BB cream – Repurchase? Yes.

This is my last hoarded tube of Missha’s Perfect cover BB ;_;. I love this cream, it works super well with me, it did improve my skin so much during the first year I used it. I would always repurchase this BB cream…but I have o get rid of all the other BB creams I hoarded first ;_; See my old review >>here<<.

Review: VIP Gold Super Plus BB Triple Function Cream

Earlier I posted swatches of Skin79 BB Cream Miniature Set and I realized that I actually never did the real reviews for those BB creams. I had enough time to try and empty the miniatures and I’ll start of with a review on the VIP Gold Super Plus BB Triple Function Cream.

Here is the product description and image from Skin79’s official web page:

BB CREAM THAT PRESENTS LUXURIOUS SKIN. Ingredients with an abundance of nutrition keep skin resilient and moist and its whitening and wrinkle fighting properties helps maintain clear and resilient skin, while giving the skin a natural and bright look.

And here is how my tube looks like if you use it up :D

The tube contained 5 g and could be tested thoroughly. The full size products comes with a pump, which is more convenient and hygienic. :)

The consistency of this BB cream is similar to Missha’s Perfect Cover cream. Below I will show the swatches of all BB creams in comparison:

This BB cream has a good coverage and is lighter than Misshas Perfect Cover in #23, but it adapts perfectly to my skin tone, nevertheless. It leaves you with a subtle glow. Although I think the glow might be stronger if you have oily skin. But for dry skin it works fine. It has a nice scent, too, which is not disturbing while you have the BB cream on your face.

All in all it is a nice BB cream comparable with Missha Perfect Cover. It doesn’t have different shades like Missha’s BB cream, in my case it fit optimally to my skin color.

Swatches: Skin79 BB Cream Miniature Set

I did some swatches for the sample kit of Skin79 BB creams from my recent ebay haul compared to Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream. The set of Skin79 BB creams contained small tubes of 5 g of the following BB creams:

I put a nail polish bottle beside, so you can see the size of the tubes. They are quite small, but perfect for testing something new :)
The set contains:

Hot Pink Super Plus BB Triple Function Cream
Diamond The Prestige BB Cream
VIP Gold Super Plus BB Triple Function Cream
Diamond Luminous Pearl BB Cream

The Skin79 BB creams are lighter in shade compared to Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream in #23 when squeezed out of the tube. Nevertheless, applied on the face and blended in I don’t see anydifferences and the Skin79 BB creams were not to bright for my skin tone. Skin79 VIP Gold BB Cream and Hot Pink BB Cream are comparable to Misshas BB Cream. They are all thicker in consistency and have a good coverage. I liked them a lot and I’m considering to buy either of these in a full-sized tube. Diamond the Prestige and Diamond Luminous Pearl have a lighter consistency and are more liquid. Diamond Luminous Pearl contains small glitter particles and leaves a dewy look if applied on the face. Diamond The Prestige feels as moisturizing as Diamond Luminous Pearl but leaves a matte finish.

I just tried out each of the four tubes once each, so I can’t tell anything about the long-term effects, but I will keep you updated :D…
