Review: The Face Shop Gelato Tint | TesterKorea Beauty Tester

1. October 2018

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / MAKEUP //

I received a few items from TesterKorea within the frame of their Beauty Tester Event. The first item that got my attention was the The Face Shop Gelato Tint, which I want to show you today! Let’s face it: The packaging is so cute and unique, no wonder it screams “Buy Me!” into our faces. Moreover, I love Korean Lip Tints! It already seems like this one will be a hit for me.

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

First, some information about TesterKorea: if you know me and my blog for some time you will know that TesterKorea is my favorite online retailer for larger KBeauty hauls. I’ve purchased products from them many times and they never failed me. Also, they are quite popular for offering many free samples and having a LARGE variety of samples for sale as well. If you do not know a specific product and you want to test it I can recommend you TesterKorea. Also, they have a huge amount of different products from many brands, so you can be sure to find what you are looking for in most cases. Unlike other online retailers they do not offer free shipping, though, but their shipping is based on weight. The cheap prices of the products themselves totally balances out the shipping costs in my eyes – especially for larger hauls. They even have a specific topic where you can request a product if it is newly launched. They are also quite fast in listing the latest products from most brands. Considering the fact that I know they are a reliable retailer and have a good reputation makes me even more happy that I’m part of their new Beauty Tester round-up.

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

The Face Shop is a Korean brand that “shares the benefits of nature”. It launched in 2003 in Korea and tries to bring together science and nature in their cosmetics products. They have a huge range of items and most of the items I tried from this brand I actually did like. Also, from time to time the brand comes up with unique packaging designs and it comparable to Tonymoly or Etude House. This The Face Shop Gelato Tint is a perfect example!

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

The Face Shop Gelato Tint is a creamy lip tint that comes in 6 different shades that come in ice cream shaped containers in pastel colors. The description says that these tints melt like soft ice cream on our lips with the melting mousse texture, long-lasting color, and 4 different plant oils, which are rose hip, safflower seed, apple, and mango oil. The color I selected is called Strawberry&Cream (No.02) and is a vibrant strawberry pink shade.

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

Let’s take a moment to look at the beautiful and perfect packaging design of The Face Shop Gelato Tint! Despite being made from plastic, the plastic has a soft touch and doesn’t feel cheap. Even look at these details: there are sprinkles on the ice cream and the cone has a typical waffle pattern, too!

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

When removing the lid you see the attached angled brush applicator. The lip tint is scented like strawberry bubble gum!

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

The product has a mousse texture, as stated in the description. The tint is thick and vibrant in color and applies smoothly.

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

The Face Shop Gelato Tint is not drying when applied to the lips. On the contrary, the mousse texture feels more like a lip butter. The color is pigmented and shows nicely even on my lips. It will not last a meal, but the stain stays on the lips some time and disappears in a nice and even way. The tint comes with 4.2g of volume.

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

I enjoy using the The Face Shop Gelato Tint, and although we have autumn now the cute ice cream shape reminds me of summer and makes me smile. I love the packaging design and the fact that it is not made from simple and cheap plastic but feels like a nice fabric and has all these tiny details. If you love mousse tints and cute packaging this one is for you! If you are sensitive to strawberry bubble gum scents in cosmetics products I would not recommend this tint though.

The Face Shop Gelato Tint retails for 9000Won at TesterKorea, which makes around 8 US$.

Do you like The Face Shop? And are you team lip tint or lipstick?

Guestpost: Round-up: The Cutest Cat Cosmetics

9. March 2017
Here is a guestpost by the lovely Anne from the blog Cat Obsessed. I hope you will enjoy reading it:

I love Asian cosmetics for two reasons: firstly, the quality is great.  I have very sensitive skin.  Most western drugstore brands make my skin react.  However, I have no problem with Korean and Japanese products from inexpensive brands like Etude House and Nature Republic.

Cutest Cat Cosmetics

The second (less important) reason is the packaging.  When I see something cute, it’s easy to get me to part with my money!  Korean brands often team up with some of my favorite characters like Line Friends and Gudetama.

Given that I run a cat blog, it’s no surprise that I’m a sucker for any makeup with a cat theme.  Many brands have made adorable cat items.  It’s mostly just the outer packaging that has a feline appearance, but Japanese company Felissimo recently made a hand cream with the fragrance of a cat’s paw!

In this post, Fräulein Schnee has kindly invited me to share five of the cutest cat-themed makeup items I’ve ever seen.

1.  Skin79 – Animal Mask (Angry Cat)

Cutest Cat Cosmetics

Sheet masks with animal faces have become very popular in the last year or two.  Not only are they fun to look at, but they have all the benefits you’d expect in a Korean sheet mask.  In the animal mask series from Skin79 there are three options –  Angry cat, Dry money  or Dark panda.  These have different properties for various skin problems.  Angry cat contains aloe and tea tree extracts to soothe irritated and troubled skin.  It claims to moisturize and purify rough, flaky, dry and lifeless skin.

2.  Miss Hana x Choo Choo Cat – Waterproof Eyeliner Kit

Cutest Cat Cosmetics

The Choo Choo cat series is a range of adorable cat artwork from Korean company Jetoy.  The cats can be found on postcards, teacups, purses…and now a makeup collaboration with Miss Hana!  The Miss Hana x Choo Choo Cat Waterproof Eyeliner kit contains four colors – black, brown and glitter versions of both.  The pretty metal case also includes a sharpener.  This is one item I’d buy just for the packaging.  The blue-eyed white cat actually looks like a lot like my pet Saus (you can see my favorite picture of her at the top of this post – she’s so silly!).  I found the advert for this collaboration set and it’s so adorable I melted:

3.  Holika Holika x Audrey Jeanne – Dodo Cat Glow Cushion BB

Cutest Cat Cosmetics

Holika Holika is a famous Korean makeup brand.  You can’t walk down a street in Seoul without spotting one or two branches!  But have you heard of Audrey Jeanne?  Probably not.  She’s a French illustrator specialising in adorable cat drawings.  The Holika Holika x Audrey Jeanne collab is a strange combination but definitely a cute one.  The Dodo Cat Glow Cushion contains both foundation and brightener for a natural skin glow.  Used together they create a natural, radiant and flawless complexion.

4.  The Face Shop – Mini Pet Sweet Perfume Hand Cream

Cutest Cat Cosmetics

I have already mentioned Felissimo’s strange cat-paw fragranced hand cream – but other brands have created feline-themed hand creams too!  The Face Shop is one of my favorite brands when it comes to moisturisers.  They are generally effective while being gentle on my sensitive skin.  This Mini Pet Sweet Perfume Hand Cream has a floral fragrance (maybe how my cat smells after after I’ve washed her with scented shampoo!).  It’s only 30mls so it’s small enough to pop into your handbag.  There are also three other animal options to choose from if cats aren’t your thing.

5.  White Cat – Super Berry Silky Eye Balm

Cutest Cat Cosmetics

Another Korean brand which I hadn’t come across before is actually named after a cat – White Cat.  This brand is known for using nature-friendly and hypoallergenic ingredients. Not all of their products are feline themed but many of them have leopard print packaging.   One such example is their Super Berry Silky Eye Balm.  This product claims to provide moisture and increase elasticity in the sensitive eye area. It also improves wrinkles – I’m sold!  And look at the lovely fluffy pet in their promotional image:

Cutest Cat Cosmetics

I would buy anything that this kitty is selling!

I hope you enjoyed this round up!  If you’re not a cat lover, these items would make a good gift for a friend who is.  Crazy cat ladys are easy to buy for.  I would certainly love to receive them!

Review: The Face Shop Face It Power Perfection BB Cream

3. June 2015

// PR SAMPLE / MAKEUP / AFFILIATE LINKS //

It’s been some time since my last BB cream review, although BB creams are why I started blogging in the frst place. There are so many to try, especially in the asian market, and The Face Shop Face It Power Perfection BB Cream is one of them. This BB cream is supposed to be a total skin treatment with lifting, moisturizing and correcting properties. and was send to me by a new Korean cosmetics online store named Q-depot.

The Face Shop Face It Power Perfection BB Cream

The Face Shop is a Korean brand that “shares the benefits of nature”. It launched in 2003 in Korea and tries to bring together science and nature in their cosmetics products. They have a huge range of items and most of the items I tried from this brand I actually did like. The Face Shop Face It Power Perfection BB Cream is an all-rounder BB cream formulated with omega-3 and vita skin complex to nourish and moisturize your skin. The BB cream comes in 2 shades: 01. bright beige and 02. natural beige. I received shade 02. The BB cream also has SPF37 and PA++ and has some sun protection properties.

The Face Shop Face It Power Perfection BB Cream

The Face shop Face It Power Perfection BB Cream is also available in two sizes. You can get either a smaller tube of 20 ml, or the larger tube as I’m showing here with 40 ml of product. Both versions are packed in tubes with a pump dispenser, which is the best way to pack a BB cream in my opinion (apart from Pacts/Cushions). The signature color of this BB cream is purple and the tube looks quite elegant in my eyes. It is not something fancy or super cute, but it looks nice on the shelf, too.

The Face Shop Face It Power Perfection BB Cream

The cardboard box packaging contains English and Korean description. You can find the ingredients on COSDNA, too. They are mostly green labelled and safe to use. Since this BB cream has a SPF 37/PA++ it contains titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate for UV protection. It also contains niacinamide and other some plant extracts and moisturizing ingredients. This BB cream has a shelf life of 12 months after opening.

The Face Shop Face It Power Perfection BB Cream

As you can see, the tube has a pump dispenser which is protected by a clear, purple colored plastic cap. The amount of one pumping is usually enough for the whole face, let’s say 1.5 pumps if you need some corrections and whant to cover your neck, too. It is super easy to use and the pump works prefectly fine.

The Face Shop Face It Power Perfection BB Cream

Below you can see a swatch of The Face Shop Face It Power Perfection BB Cream in shade 02. natural beige. I swatched it on my hand. It looks quite light in the image and also lighter than my skintone, but can be blended in to fit. The consistency of this BB cream is quite creamy. It has a matte finish and a medium-high coverage, which can be layered. The BB cream has a light floral scent, like most BB creams do.

The Face Shop Face It Power Perfection BB Cream

Below you can see my face before and after the application of the BB cream.  I don’t have skin troubles in terms of many pimples, but my skin is not even colored and I have some redness here and there. I have used my regular creams/skincare in the “before” image already. After using the BB cream my skin looks more even and the color differences of my skin are corrected. Although it has a matte finish and my skin is usually quite dry it didn’t get flaky and looked nice even after 6 hours. Also, it didn’t have a white or greyish cast after using it. The texture isn’t heavy either, despite the fact that the BB cream has a creamy consitency.

The Face Shop Face It Power Perfection BB Cream

My conclusion for The Face shop Face It Power Perfection BB Cream is, that this is a good and solid BB cream and nice for daily use. If you are looking for a BB cream with matte finish you might want to try this, even with nomal/dry skintypes. I would not say that it is the most moisturizing BB cream I have tried, but it isn’t heavy and isn’t drying. Nevertheless, I would not skip using your regular skincare creams before :D

You can get this BB cream at Q-Depot for 25.79 US$. The smaller tube of 20 ml costs only 15.29 US$, which is quite a regular price for BB creams of that size. They offer free worldwide shipping from 69 US$ onwards. Also, they have a promotion were you can get 5 US$ coupon upon signing up for a minimum purchase of 69 US$.

It is also available here:

W2Beauty for 25.97US$ (use coupon code berries10 for additional 10% off and free shipping)

Amazon.com for 20.74US$

Amazon.de for 19.03€

Graveyard: September and October Empties

6. November 2014

I completely forgot to make an empty post for Septmeber and here are now my product empties from two months. Again, I’m really trying hard to use up all my opened products at the moment and it starts to show some progress slowly. I didn’t keep the sample sachets or sheet masks though…It would be too much of a mess. Nevertheless, I hope you’ll have fun reading!

empties_SepOkt2014_1

1. Dita Von Teese Rouge Body Lotion – Repurchase? Yes.

I love the scent of this line by Dita. I tried all the perfumes and the Rouge Line is my favourite scent and at the same time this body lotion smells great. The scent lingers on the skin for a long time and it absorbs fast and makes the skin feel nice. I will repurchase this (I still have the shower gel in use atm…*_*).

2. Naobay Protective Shampoo and Shower Gel -Repurchase? No.

This was part of one of my older Glossyboxes. I used it as shower gel only, so I cannot say anything about the quality as a shampoo. The scent was not my favourite scent but it wasn’t bad either. Nevertheless, it didn’t convince me in a way that I would repurchase it.

3. Illi Fresh Moisture Body Lotion – Repurchase? Maybe.

You will find my review >>here<<. This was part of one of the Global MeMeBoxes. It is a citrus scented moisturizing lotion. I liked that the citrus/lemon scent was natural and not like bathroom cleaning products. It absorbs quickly, too and was not sticky at all. It was a tiny bit to runny for my tasting but I could imagine to try one of their other lotions.

4. The Faceshop Face It Auro Color Control Cream- Repurchase? Yes.

I really do like this CC cream from The Faceshop. It has a nice coverage and lovely finish. I’m sad that it is emptie now, but there are refills available. As soon as I have used up 2-3 of my other BB/CC cream tubes I will repurchase this. I also like the fact that you can buy refills for it. See my review >>here<<. I’m sorry, that my older posts have blurry images…this is because of the switch I made to my new domain. I’ll try to fix all the older posts as soon as I have some spare time. :/

5. CaoLion Mool Pool Deep Cleansing -Repurchase? No.

Actually, I didn’t like this too much. It didn’t remove everything, it had a almost watery consistency and I didn’t like the scent.

6. Balea Diamantentraum Bodylotion – Repurchase? Yes.

Balea is a German drugstore brand, which is easily available and has fair prices. This bodylotion was a limited edition and I liked the scent. It made a nice feeling of the skin. Since it is affordable I would definitively repurchase their bodylotions, but maybe another version, just for the variety.

7. Kneipp Hautöl Mandelblüten Hautarzt – Repurchase? Yes.

Another German brand :) This almond blossom oil has such a nice scent. It is perfect for dry skin and delivers deep nourishment. I enjoyed using it, and I have a second travel-sized version of this oil still in use.

8. Pure Smile Muddy Girl Charcoal Face Mask – Repurchase? Maybe.

This charcoal-type mask pack from the Japanese brand Pure Smile was in my first MeMeBox My Cute Wishlist. It has a heartshaped packaging and contains enough product for 2 times usage. It is a mud-type mask which dries on your face. It has some cooling effect and I heard that some reacted to these pacs, but luckily I just experienced the cool feeling and a tightened skin. I would like to purchase other masks from this brand just to see how they compare.

9. Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence – Repurchase? Maybe.

Since I tried samples from Missha’s Time Revolution First Treatment Essence and was overwhelmed by it I wanted to get the essence. Unfortunately it is not the cheapest product. I found some reviews on Secret Key’s Starting Treatment Essence and read that it was comparable with the one from Missha, and even cheaper. So I decided to get the travel size. I enjoyed using it- but I enjoyed the one from Missha even better. Especially since the effects were much quicker visible and the scent of the Missha product is much nicer.Nevertheless, considering the price, I might buy the one from Secret Key again…

10. The Body Shop Vitamin E Nightcreme – Repurchase? Yes.

I love this cream! It was only a tiny sample jar, but it lasted for quite some time. This rich and nourishing night cream has a wonderful flowery scent and a perfect consistency for a night cream. It absorbs fast and makes the skin silky. I used it in combination with the Vitamin C serum from Tunemakers (see below).

11. Tunemakers VC-3 Serum – Repurchase? Maybe.

This stabilized vitamin C serum is a good alternative to O.S.T. Vitamin C Serum because it is mild and suited for sentitive skin, too. Unfortunately, the bottle is not large, but it lasted for 2,5 months. In general, both of the products from Tunemakers that I tried ( the toner and this serum) were nice products with few ingredients only. This brand is worth a closer look.

12. Shiseido Ibuki Protective Moisturizer – Repurchase? Yes.

I had quite some samples from the Ibuki line and I like the scent and the effect of the products. This emulsion is really great. It absorbs super fast into the skin and makes ist feel soft and moisturized without any stickiness or greasiness. If I had the money for it I would buy it immediately.

12. Only You Green Tea Jamine Bodyscrub – Repurchase? Maybe.

I didn’t know this brand but I received a set of products as a gift. I love drinking green tea and jamine, so I was very pleased about the scent. It is a milder body scrub with shower gel. I’m still using the shower gel and the body lotion, which have the same nice scent.

Graveyard: September and October Empties

These are quite some products. Do you know any of these and did you try them yourself? What is your opinion on these products I showed above? I’d be happy about your comments ♥

Graveyard: July 2014

31. July 2014

Another month passed, which means another graveyard post for me. Here are the product empties in July 2014:

empties_July2014_2

1. Damoae Therapy Shampoo – Repurchase? Yes!

I would love to repurchase this shampoo. It worked so nice on my hair and gave me back the shine I missed so much. Also my hair felt stronger during the time I used. You can also check out the before and after pictures in my review for Damoae Therapy Shampoo and Tonic. They speak for themselves. Unfortunatelly, it is a bit pricey…But the shampoo also lasts for quite a time. I used it together with my bf, both of us washing our hair twice with the shampoo, and it lasted for 3 months. I guess for one person it can last more than half a year.

2. Innisfree Green Tea Pure Deluxe Kit – Repurchase? Parts of it.

Also here you can check out my review. I enjoyed using the kit, because it contained everything for a nice skincare routine, but my favourite items were the emulsion and the sleeping mask. I could imagine rebuying these some time. For green tea lovers I can definitively recommend you to try out one of the products from this line, or search for those kinds of kits. It is always more helpful than buying a fullsize and discovereing that you don’t like it.

3. Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream – Repurchase? Yes.

I talked about this product more than once and it was in one of my previous empty posts, too. This is the second tube I bought, which was at my bf’s place. Snail mucus newbies should try out this gel cream. You can also read more in my review.

4. TheFaceShop Foot Peeling – Repurchase? Yes.

My first foot peeling! I was doubtfull if if yould work, but it did. My skin is renewed and I’m ready for summertime and sandals XD Review in progress.

5. Skinfood Vita Water Drop CC Cream – Repurchase? Yes and no.

This is such an adorable packaging!*_* I’m still in love with it, although it is now time for us to part XD This was my first CC cream and it is not one of those CC creams containing color changing beads, but a fully colored one. It has a light and watery texture and gives you a nice finish. I really like this product. I won’t repurchase it though, simply because I have so many other CC/BB creams which I need to finish up before rebuying anything XD. Here is my review.

6. Skinmiso Rice Foam Cleansing – Repurchase? No.

This foam cleanser made me curious because it contained rice. It is a good cleanser, building up a decent amount of foam with a tiny bit of product. Somehow the scent is not my favourite and considering the huge amount of different cleanser I will try other foam cleanser before I repurchase this one. Read my review here.

Here are all my empty products in one picture :) Time to say goodbye to them :D

Which products do you like from these? Which did you try? Which one would you like to try? Leave a comment if you like :)

Graveyard: January to March 2014

24. April 2014
As you can see I’m a bit late for this post, but I thought I’ll put it up anyway, since I already edited the image for it :) Here are my empties for January, Febuary and March…(I also used a bunch of samples and sheet masks which I didn’t keep).

1. TheBodyShop Strawberry Body Polish- Repurchase?Yes!
I love this showering gel with the tiny strawberry particles. It smells divine and it foams up nicely too. Plus, you have these strawberry grains for a soft peeling effect. This is the second time I bought it and there will be a time when I will repurchase this again.

2. Nivea Supreme Touch Cream Shower- Repurchase? Maybe.
I love the scent of Nivea products. This one is no exception. Other than this it is a regular showering product. I like it, I would rebuy it, but I prefer testing other shower creams/gels.
3. Lush Dream Cream Hand and Body Lotion- Repurchase? Yes!
I was in love with the scent while using it and I really liked the feeling it left behind on my skin. I think I used this jar within a week and I would definitively rebuy it (but it is quite expensive compared to other body lotions…;_;).
4. Skin79 Super BB and Super Gold BB creams – Repurchase? Maybe.
These are both nice BB creams and if I would not have so many other BB creams and if the market would not keep up making new versions, I would rebuy those because they do a quite nice job- not perfect, but nice. I reviewed these in the past (>>here<<).
5. The Face Shop Mango Seed Line – Repurchase? Yes!
I really loved using these products from the MangoSeed line. If you are interested read my review >>here<<. I want to repurchase these for winter, when my skin is in need of a lot of moisture.
6. Great Length Daily Moisture Shampoo – Repurchase? No.
This Shampoo did not overwhelm me. It was not even giving me the feeling of having more moisturized hair, so I wouldn’t repurchase it.
7. Laneige Water Sleeping Pack – Repurchase? Yes.
I loved the scent, I loved the effect and there is nothing more to say. See my old review on it >>here<<.
8. Missha M Perfect Cover BB cream – Repurchase? Yes.
This is my last hoarded tube of Missha’s Perfect cover BB ;_;. I love this cream, it works super well with me, it did improve my skin so much during the first year I used it. I would always repurchase this BB cream…but I have o get rid of all the other BB creams I hoarded first ;_;  See my old review >>here<<.
Did you try any of these?
I’ll try to do the next empty post earlier than after 3 months :D Hope I can keep up to my words now :D

Review: TheFaceShop Mango Seed Silk Moisturizing Facial Butter, Toner, Emulsion and Exfoliating Clear Smoother

22. February 2014

As you know, I’ve normally dry skin, especially in cold winter. This year’s winter is still quite mild, so luckily my skin is not that sensitive yet. But in any case, I love good moisturizing creams for my skin especially my face. One cream which caught my attention is TheFaceShop Mango Seed Silk Moisturizing Facial Butter, after I saw it on an episode of Get it Beauty, where different moisturizers were being compared. This one was the most loved moisturizing facial cream, so I decided to give it a try and bought a bunch of samples. And since I was really curious about the product, I added the toner, the emulsion (lotion) and exfoliating liquid from the same line.

The design of the Mango Seed Line is made in yellow, which is the color everybody would associate with Mango :D Let’s start off with the main product: The Mango Seed Silk Moisturizing Facial Butter.

The full size product comes in a jar and it is delivered together with a spatula for scooping out the butter.

Special about this product is the consistency of the cream, which has the consistency of butter. Although it seems having a rather solid structure, it melts off easily if it is in contact with the skin. It has a silky and smooth feeling and it leaves the same smoothness on the skin.

The scent is fruity and similar to another Mango product I tried (Nature Republic Fresh Hawaiian Mango Pack, click >>here<< for the review). It absorbs quite quickly into the skin and leaves the skin moisturized in a pleasant way. I had the feeling that the moisture really sunk into the skin and wasn’t lying on top of it, if you know what I mean. And the great thing is, that this feeling was noticeable all day long! Moreover, the facial butter doesn’t leave the skin sticky or greasy at all. I really loved using this facial butter ♥

You can combine the facial butter with the other products from this line, like the Mango Seed Moisturizing Toner, Emulsion (also called Lotion) and the Exfoliating Clear Smoother. All products come in bottles with a pump, which is super convenient to use. The toner has a see-through plastic body.

The toner has two phases: a milky phase and a clear phase, which have to be mixed previously. You can see in the image below that the toner has a milky color after mixing. The scent is the same fruity scent which the butter had. The toner also feels moisturizing on the skin. Probably the milky phase is some kind of lotion providing the moisture.

The emulsion/lotion is a light creamy type emulsion, which is lighter than the facial butter. It is slightly sticky after application, but the stickiness fades away after 1-2 minutes. Also here, the scent is the same, as for the other products of the line.

The last product I bought is the Mango Seed Exfoliating Clear Smoother. You have to use this one after cleansing your face. I put the clear liquid on a cotton pad and wipe it over my face as an additional cleaning step to remove dead cells. The cotton pad did show excess dirt, so I guess it was effective. This one feels also slightly sticky after application, but also here the stickiness fades off after some minutes.

I discovered for my dry skin, that if you use all products together, the skin starts to look a bit greasy. I would recommend the use off all products together only to very dry skin, or people living somewhere, were it is super cold and dry and your face is exposed to that. This is a super moisturizing line for this purpose. If you have oily skin, I would use the toner and the emulsion only, occasionally the exfoliating clear smoother. For dry and normal skin the facial butter in combination with the toner is the best choice in my eyes. Using the Exfoliating Clear Smoother in the evening after cleansing.

This line has a lot of potential if you are looking for moisturizing products. If you are not sure which one or which combination might be the best for you, you should order some samples like I did (I ordered my samples at www.testerkorea.com). I decided to buy the full size jar of the facial butter definitely after I used up my other moisturizers, because I really loved how nice and supple my skin felt all day long. I also used this butter in combination with the Face It Primer Moisture Fitting I reviewed yesterday, and it gave me a super nice finish ♥

You can get all of these products at W2Beauty. The Facial Butter (50 ml) costs US$ 32.23, the Toner (145 ml) costs US$ 24.49, the Lotion (125 ml) costs US$ 25.49 and the Exfoliating Clear Smoother (145 ml) costs US$ 25.49.

My rating for the whole line and especially the facial butter is:

Review: TheFaceShop Face It Primer Moisture Fitting

21. February 2014
I’m not using foundation often, practically I don’t use them at all… Instead, I’ve been preferring using BB creams for years now and I never really thought about trying it primer for it. But lately I thought “Why not?!” Maybe it works out for me, too, to use some primer occasionally. That’s why I bought TheFaceShop Face It Primer Moisture Fitting a while ago and I’ve fallen in love with it ♥

There are three versions for this primer, one is called velvet skin, one called glow, and this one is called moisture fitting and it has a light pink packaging. The packaging is designed neat and simple. The instructions on the cardboard box are written in Korean and in English, which is a great plus!
Here is the list of ingredients for this product:

The ingredient list is quite long and you can look up the stats on COSDNA if you like (click >>here<< for the link to this ingredients list). It contains Alcohol and Parabens, and if you have sensitive skin you should check out the list first.
The primer comes in a bottle with a pump. the bottle is plastic, but you cannot see through it in order to see how much is left in the bottle. I love using pumps for such products, because it makes them much easier to use ♥ Again, the design stays simple, like the design of the cardboard box.
The primer itself has a creamy, lotion-like structure and has a white color. It feels moisturizing and gives the skin an instant cooling sensation. The skin feels soft and gets a nice glow after applying the primer. Furthermore, this primer is really lightweight and is not sticky at all. The scent is flower-like, but it is not overwhelming. I used both BB and CC cream with this primer and I’m really happy with the effect. My face looked great all day long and I didn’t have the need to touch up in the evening, which was really surprising. I will definitively recommend this primer to you! Maybe the Velvet Skin primer is better suited for oily skin, but for dry and normal skin I can only recommend trying TheFaceShop Face It Primer Moisture Fitting! ♥

Review: TheFaceShop Face It Aura CC Cream

2. October 2013
I wanted to do this review much much earlier, but due to shipping problem in Germany it was really delayed until know. There have already been a lot of reviews about this product, but nevertheless I want to share my thoughts about TheFaceShop Face It Aura CC cream with you.

Here is the description taken from TheFaceShop’s official web page:
usable for all skintypes, recommended for normal skin
description:
Brightening + Anti-wrinkle + SPF  effect
Creates a “Spotlight Makeup” : turns up the wattage of your skin tone with enhanced skin luminosity
“A Born-color Cream” : just like you were born with a  brighter ,healthier & naturally luminescent  skin!
*12H Long-wearing : with its innovative darkening-proof formula, the makeup is maintained morning-fresh & bright for 12 hours.
*12H Hydrating: promotes Clear & lively skin tone
Super blendable & layerable  texture allows buildable coverage & easy touch ups on-the-go.

Sounds great, doesn’t it? I was skeptical nonetheless, because most CC creams had a coverage which was to light for my tasting and were not able to replace my routinely used BB cream. But I read a lot of good reviews about this CC cream and so I gave it a try. The packaging contains a lot of description, too (you can enlarge the images). They put also some images on how you can add the refill. The fact that you actually can put a refill is great and is the first point I like about this product.

The pact itself is sturdy, but handy on the same time. The design is very clean and mature with a light pink color.

When you open the pact, it comes with a mirror on the one side and the CC cream container on the other. In between there is an application pad.

Now, in order to apply the CC cream you have to push the container and the CC cream is pumped through the hole in the middle of the container (you have to remove the sticker before). This CC cream looks like a BB cream. It is not based on color changing beads, but has an even tone. TheFaceShop Face It Aura CC Cream is available in two shades: light beige and natural beige. I bought natural beige. Below you can see the swatch of the CC cream on my hand. As you can see, I’m still a bit tanned from my vacation and this CC cream has a shade comparable to Missha’s No. 21, if I remember correctly. Nevertheless, it can be blended in nicely. I think the shade will work even better for me in winter :)

The coverage is really, really great. I didn’t expect it, because most CC creams have a lighter coverage, but this one does a good job and a better job than the Skinfood’s Vita Water Drop CC cream I reviewed before >>here<<. Below you can see an image of my face with and without the CC cream. You can clearly see how good the coverage is, it even covers my birth mark at my mouth’s corner. Also my skin tone is evened out and brightened up. Unfortunately, because of the SPF it is difficult to get a nice picture while using flash light. I also didn’t have any problems layering this CC cream on that parts of my skin which are not dry. With help of the sponge it looked always nicely blended and not cake-y. But, if you have dry parts in your skin or dry skin in general I recommend you to you to use a moisturizer before, otherwise it will not look nice, but a bit powdery/flaky. I don’t agree with their claim on being hydrating for drier skin types. For oily and normal skin it might be okay.
The staying power was nice, nevertheless, even if I would not say it lasts for 12 hours, but it lasts really a long time. Since I have skin on the drier side I cannot say anything about oil control. It performed nice enough for me.

I love this CC cream! I was very skeptical about CC creams because I didn’t like formulas with color changing beads, but this one is a normally toned cream without any color adapting beads. The coverage is great and comparable to BB creams, like Missha’s Perfect Cover. It evens out the skin tone, has SPF and the application is great, too. I can live with the part of having to use a good moisturizer before, because I do this anyway. Moreover, it fits perfectly into any handbag :D I am totally happy with this buy!

TheFaceShop Face It Aura CC Cream contains 20 g and costs US$ 39.00. If you decide to buy something at Keautystore I can offer you a 5 % coupon code that they provided me. Review: The Face Shop Volcanic Clay Blackhead Clay Nose Pack

17. July 2013
Hello ♥
This Volcanic Clay Blackhead Clay Nose Pack from The Face Shop is also part of my KoCoMall haul from quite a while ago. You’ll find the haul here. Ever since I tried one of The Face Shop’s Volcanic Clay nose patches I wanted to try this Clay Nose Pack. I was really curious about how it works, and since it was on sale I thought I’ll give it a try.

Here is the product description by The Face Shop’s official web page:

Description:
Say Good-bye to your blackheads!
A Perfect cleansing line effective for removing blackheads and dead skin cells
Peel-off type of blackhead nose strip that draws out blackheads completely. (Same as existing Mud Nose Pack)

Application:
Dispense an adequate amount and gently apply onto and around the nose area. After 10~15 minutes when completely dry, remove the mask upwards.
The package design of the tube is really nice. With all the writings and the little symbols it is kind of cute, too. The tube has a cap which can be flipped open. The description is written in Korean and English on the backside of the tube.
The consistency of the mask is glue-y when it comes out of the tube. It is very sticky and can be messy if you don’t take care in first place. That is also a point why I personally would have preferred a screw cap instead of one that can be flipped open, because those “flipping caps” tend to close sometimes and you’ll mess around within the cap :/
Once you put a layer on your nose and wait for a while you can feel how the mask tightens and dries. The package description says to leave it 15-20 minutes until it is dry. I tested this mask on me and on my boyfriend and the results were partly good, partly not. In my opinion you get the best results if you leave it for longer time. Then it really removes stuff which is inside your pores and you didn’t even realize it was there XD But I have to admit that it hurts to peel it off the drier it gets. If you have sensitive skin don’t buy it! My boyfriend likes it as it seems, since he asks for this every now and then :D
You can buy it at the moment on KoCoMall for US$ 4.16 since it is on sale.
Will I repurchase? Actually you don’t need a lot of product, so this tube will stay with me for quite some time. But I won’t purchase the same again, I will rather try out other similar masks or stick with nose patches.
