Review: Tansan Kakumei Carbonate Revolution

4. October 2014

In Korea and Japan recently a trend developed to wash your face with carbonated water. I first saw this trend in Korean Beauty Show “Get it Beauty” and when I received the Tansan Kakumei Carbonated Revolution from Beautystar I was very happy to be able to try this trend. By using carbonated water for cleansing your skin will get a massage and be cleaned more thoroughly, taking advantage of all the pearling bubbles in the water. I will tell you right away that I have a little crush on this product ♥

Tansan Kakumei Carbonate Revolution

Tansan Kakumei is a Japanese product and it is one of the best selling items. After its release 50 million packages were sold within half a year. This product is part of the Synapse Media Lab. All you need to have is a basin or a bowl with water in order to use the product. The product consists of two bags with two powders, which combined make up your carbonated water. The front of the bags show a face covered in bubbles, persumeably the carbonate bubbles. Since it is a Japanese product, the instruction on the backside of the package are in Japanese. There are pictures explaining the instructions. You’ll find a English translation to the product description on Beautystar.

Tansan Kakumei Carbonate Revolution

The bags for the two powders are separately packed and marked with “A” and “B”. The color of the bags is different, on e is a bold pink, the other a light rose pink.

Tansan Kakumei Carbonate Revolution

Below you’ll see how to use the two bags of powder to create the carbonated water. First you dissolve powder A into the water. The color of the water remains clear. You won’t see any bubbles at this step. Powder A contains citric acid, malic acid, and glycolic acid. As soon as you add powder B the water will start to sparkle. Powder B contains more ingredients than A, which are:

hydrogencarbonate Na, sodium carbonate Na, sea salt, Sodium lauroyl glutamate Na, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate Mg, Argania spinosa Kernel oil, Aloe barbadensis leaf extract-1・(BG)・(H2O), Hyaluronic acid Na・(H2O), hawthorn berries extract, zizyphus jujube fruit extract, citrus paradise grandis (grapefruit) fruit extract, pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) juice, lemon juice, citrus aurantifolia (lime) juice, BG・H2O

First it foams up, then the foam on the water surface dissapears and you are left with bubbling and fizzy carbonated water. Putting your hand or face into this carbonated water makes the bubbles burst and results in a tingling feeling on your skin. The ingredients are what differentiates this carbonated water from normal carbated water from the bottle. It contains plant extracts and hyalorinic acid, which have beneficial properties for the skin. The sparking and bursting of the bubbles will result in a massage of the skin and promote the blood circulation while the ingredients will provide care to your skin.

Tansan Kakumei Carbonate Revolution

Now, the funny part when using this: you have to soak your face into this sparkling solution, and while you are doing this you have to keep your eyes and mouth closed. Moreover, I would advise you to hold your nose, because the bubbles will popp into your nose otherwise :D You best use cold water, but if you are not used to use cold water start of with lukewarm water – this reduces the tingling. In any case I would previouly clean the face and remove make up residues. The first time I used, the tingling feeling was so shocking that I had to put out my face quickly and start all over again. Now, after I was prepared for the sensation I could try it again. If you use the whole package, the carbonated water is quite strong and the bubbles will burst heavily on your skin. The tingling effect may be considered as unpleasant first, but after a while you get used to it and occasionally start to enjoy it. Afterwards, my face appeared red, because of all the bursting bubbles on my skin and I really could tell that the blood circulation of my skin was stimulated. My face felt refreshed and clear. The redness dissapeared quickly, too. I also tried using only half of the packaging of powder A and B and you still have a lot of bubbles, but the effect was less intense and my face didn’t become red this time. The reddening of the face is also described on the product description, so it is normal and you don’t have to worry about it as long as it dissapears after some minutes. After a while the powder will sink to the bottom of the bowl or basin, but if you stirr the powder, the water will start to bubble up again.

I never thought that this carbonated water would be so addictive…at first I was annoyed that you have to use a bowl or something similar because it means more work. But after feeling and seeing the effect on the skin it made me kind of addicted, although the bubbles tingle on the skin and feel discomforable first. I really love this and I can recommed you to try this. ♥ You can get this from Beautystar for 3.69 US$ each. If you buy 10, you’ll receive one for free. If you buy 30 you’ll receive 5 for free.

Review: Tunemakers VC3 Vitamin C Derivate

20. September 2014

A while ago I reviewed the Tunemakers Original Moisture Lotion (a Japanese toner) I’m using currently, and – as I mentioned back then- I use it together with a serum called Tunemakers VC3 Vitamin C Derivate Serum. Both items have been provided by Beautystar, a new online shop for some Japanese beauty products which are harder to get for people living outside of Japan. If you want to have soft skin and don’t use products with a long ingredients list but with natural ingredients mainly these two products are a perfect combination which I can recommend to you anytime. Keep on reading if you want to read more about it :)

Tunemakers VC3 Vitamin C Derivate

Tunemakers is a Japanese brand, which seems to be featured in a lot of Japanese magazines…unfortunately the brands site is in Japanese only, but according to Beautystar’s describtion, Tunemakers was born through the wish of a lot of people for skincare products which contain ingredients which are part of the skin. I think this means, the use of raw ingredients in a good concentration to be absorbed by the skin and yet have the best possible effect. Tunemakers VC3 Vitamine C Derivate serum is formulated, as you can say from the name, from a vitamine C derivate for skin conditioning. It can fix the balance of oil and moisture in skin, and leads to glistening and smooth skin according to the product description. The ingredients list is again – like for the Tunemakers Lotion- very short and contains safe ingredients only: water, BG, ascorbyl phosphate Mg, hydrogenated lecithin, citric acid Na, PEG-100 hydrogenated castor oil, dihydro correspondent-20, Toriokutanoin, citric acid, cholesterol, tocopherol acetate, methyl paraben. You can look up the ingredients on COSDNA >>here<<.

Tunemakers VC3 Vitamin C Derivate

This tiny bottle is made of brown glass, like the Tunemakers Lotion, and prevents the content from light in this way. Nevertheless, since it is real glass you have to be careful not to drop it. The design looks again like the old bottles in pharmacies. I personally like it, but maybe some of you will consider this boring… The cap can be winded on the bottle tightly, too, to prevent oxidization. The opening of the bottle has a dripping nozzle, so you can get out the product dropwise…according to the product description it is advised to use 2 drops in the morning and two in the evening. In this way the bottle should last you last less than two months…I was sometimes a bit unpatient with the nozzle and I ended up with more drops on my hands than the two drops, but still after 4 weeks I have still serum left in the bottle.

Tunemakers VC3 Vitamin C Derivate

The serum is a watery milky colored liquid which is scentless. After a while of using the product you’ll see some white powder on the winding of the bottle. Don’t worry about this, because it is only the dried vitamin C powder. The VC3 derivate is a stabilized vitamine C derivate matched with a derivate of phosphoric acid in high stability. In order to guarantee the stability it is based on capsular lecithin. Other than the O.S.T. Vitamine C Serum, this serum doesn’t change it’s color because of oxidization or anything and doesn’t have to be used up super quickly...but the concentration of the vitamin C in this serum is also less than in the O.S.T. vitamin C serum and thus the effect of these two serums is quite different. As a huge fan of the O.S.T. Vitamin C serum I certainly want to compare these two vitamin C serums and I came to the conclusion that both are good in their own ways. The Tunemakers VC3 Serum makes your skin as promised smooth. Especially in combination with the lotion the skin feels nice afterwards. The ingredients list of both products is short, so it will be suitable for sensitive skintypes, too. The O.S.T Vitamin C Serum shows a more visible result. Because of the high concentration of vitamin C it acts like a chemical peeling, and you will even feel some tingling on your skin sometimes. I didn’t experience any tingling feeling with the tunemakers serum. The downside of both are, that they feel a bit sticky after application, that’s why I prefer to use them at night. If you mix the serum with a cream the stickyness is reduced though.

Concluding these points, I would say that I recommend the tunemakers VC3 serum for a use on daily basis, whereas I recommend the O.S.T. serum for a more deep peeling. People with very sensitive skin, who did not like the tingling effect of the O.S.T. serum will maybe enjoy the tunemakers VC3 serum more. You can get Tunemakers VC3 Serum (and a lot of other serums, too) from BeautyStar. This bottle costs 14.60 US$ and contains 10 ml. Also, check out my review on the Tunemakers Original Moisture Lotion which teams up perfectly with this serum. Did you know about this Japanese brand? Which is your favourite vitamin C serum? :)

Review: Tunemakers Original Moisture Lotion

2. September 2014

I introduced the online shop Beautystar in my previous review about Relevance Highlighter Tip and today I will review another item which was provided to me for reviewing purpose, the Tunemakers Original Moisture Lotion. Beautystar is an online shop selling Japanese skincare and cosmetic products which are harder to find in other online shops. Apart from the lotion (Japanese lotion is the adequate to Korean toner or skin) I received a serum with I will review separately in future.

Tunemakers Original Moisture Lotion

Tunemakers is a Japanese brand, which seems to be featured in a lot of Japanese magazines…unfortunately the brands site is in Japanese only, but according to Beautystar’s describtion, Tunemakers was born through the wish of a lot of people for skincare products which contain ingredients which are part of the skin. I think this means, the use of raw ingredients in a good concentration to be absorbed by the skin and yet have the best possible effect.

Tunemakers Original Moisture Lotion

The Tunemakers Original Moisture Lotion is a simple waterbased lotion containing ceramide, hyaluronic acid, honey, collagenand royal jelly extract in a ratio of 5:3.5:2:1:1. Water with a weak acidity builds the basis of this mixture. Ceramide is one of the main lipid components of the skin. The content of ceramide declines with age, so ceramide is a skin-identical component and is supposed to help the skin regenerating or balancing the decrease in ceramides.  Collagen is also one of these components which occur naturally in our body and thus in our skin. The amount of collagen declines with our age, too. Ceramides and collangens in cosmetics won’t probably affect our skin in a way, that we start building more collagen and/or ceramides in our skin, however, collagen binds moisture and thus does it help to prevent our skin to dry, when applied on our skin. The same for ceramide, which, as a lipid keeps the right amount of fatty acids on our skin. Hyaluronic acid binds moisture aswell and thus helps the skin to stay moisturized, too. Honey and royal jelly extract are both natural ingredients. Honey is one of the ingredients with the oldest history for beauty uses. Both these ingredients contain vitamins, aminoacids and have anti-inflammatory and also antioxidant effects.

Tunemakers Original Moisture Lotion

The full ingredient list is supprisingly short: water, glycerin, 1,2 – hexanediol, sphingoglycolipids of rice bran , hyaluronic acid Na, honey,water-soluble collagen, hydrolyzed royal jelly extract, licorice root extract, ascorbyl phosphate Mg, lysolecithin, hydrogenated lecithin, BG, xanthan gum, apple acid Na, malic acid, citric acid, citric acid Na, phenoxyethanol. Thant’s it! According to COSDNA almost all the ingredients are green flagged. No fragrance, no coloring, no mineral oil, petroleum based surfactant-free, paraben-free,and alcohol- free. I guess this should be suited to people with sensitive skin, too.

Tunemakers Original Moisture Lotion

The product itself comes in a brown colored glass bottle. It is real glass, so you have to be careful while using it. Other than this, the bottle looks like a vintage medicine bottle, with a simple ettiquette and all in Japanese. The opening has a drip function, so you won’t spill too much lotion on your hands. I usually apply these moisturising toners/lotion with my hands, directly after washing my face. It has the same consistency like water, it has no scent and feels very light. After applying it absorbs really quickly into the skin and leaves my skin very soft and hydrated.

Tunemakers Original Moisture Lotion

Apart from the fact that it is a glass bottle, this lotion/toner has nothing I would complain about. It has a short ingredient list, feels like water, but makes the skin feel hydrated. I didn’t have any skin irritations while using it and I’m using it every day since two weeks now :) You can get this from Beautystar for US$ 19.50 and I’m sure, that there will be quite some of you, who will share my opinion.

Review: Miracle Romance Sailor Moon Star Power Prism Eyeliner

30. August 2014

One of the things I was really excited about this year was the new Sailor Moon Anime, which started a couple of weeks ago. On the occasion of Sailor Moon’s 20th anniversary not only the new Sailor Moon Crystal anime, but also a whole bunch of merchandise came to being, one of these being the Miracle Romance Sailor Moon Star Power Prism Eyeliner. I love Sailor Moon and I love eyeliners, so I simply had to buy it ♥

Miracle Romance Sailor Moon Star Power Prism Eyeliner

This pen type eyeliner is distributed by Creer Beaute and it is available in 2 different colors, black and brown. I ordered the black version, because this is what I usually use. Let’s start of with the most important point here: the packaging. and the main reason why I bought this. If you are a Sailor Moon fan, you know why this packaging is absolutely adorable and beautiful…it is exactly how you want this packaging to be, displaying a silhouette of Usagi, having a light pink packaging and flowers and ribbons all over.

Miracle Romance Sailor Moon Star Power Prism Eyeliner

The top of the packaging is sealed with a sticker for the 20th anniversary of Sailor Moon.

Miracle Romance Sailor Moon Star Power Prism Eyeliner

You can flip open the front and you’ll find some information and a picture from the old Sailor Moon anime. The descriptions all over the packaging are in Japanese.

Miracle Romance Sailor Moon Star Power Prism Eyeliner

The eyeliner pen has a light pink color combined with some Sailor Moon-typical ornaments. Removing the cap reveals the brush-type tip of the eyeliner pen.

Miracle Romance Sailor Moon Star Power Prism Eyeliner

The previous eyeliner pen I used and reviewed is Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner. The tip of both product is comparable. Both glide smoothly on the lids and are rubb proof. The pigmentation fades, but it doesn’t smear. Comparing the lasting time of the two eyeliners, I would say, that the eyeliner by Kiss Me Heroine Make lasts longer, whereas the Miracle Romance eyeliner dissapears more easily. The pigmentation of the Miracle Romance eyeliner is also weaker, but can be layered. Also, when using for the first time you have to shake the pen well. I found, that the pigmentation became better with each use and shaking procedure.

Miracle Romance Sailor Moon Star Power Prism Eyeliner

My final thought about this eyeliner is, that it is beautiful and enjoyable for someone who love Sailor Moon. Comparing the pigmentation and lasting power of this eyeliner pen to the Kiss Me Heroine Make eyeliner I reviewed previously, I would preferr the latter. Nevertheless, I don’t regret that I bought it, because it made me happy and reminds me of childhood memories ♥ I bought this from ebay for around 16 US$.

Review: Relevance Highlighter Tip

25. August 2014

It’s one week since my last post, but unfortunately my internet broke down and I didn’t have any possibilty to upload any new posts. Nevertheless, I took a lot of new pictures for upcoming reviews and I’m happy that I can post one of these reviews today- moreover, it is a japanese brand and as you know, I love trying out new brands: Relevance Highlighter Tip will be topic of today’s post.

Relevance Highlighter Tip

Relevance is a Japanese brand and honestly I didn’t hear about this brand until I received the package from Beautystar, a new online shop for japanese cosmetic brands which are hard to find elsewhere. Relevance belongs to Reinatural Pure Cosmetics and if you are interested in their products you can check out their (japaese) page >>here<<. The trend of highlightening your eyebag is very popular in asian countries, simply because it makes your eyes look more awake, younger and vivid looking. These all contribute in a more youthfull look and larger appearing eyes. The Relevance Highlighter Tip is one of the best selling items for this purpose.

Relevance Highlighter Tip

The Relevance Highlighter Tip comes in a girly pink packaging with ornaments all around. There are three different colors available for this Highlighter Tip: pink, orange and yellow. I received the pink version of the Relevance Highlighter Tip from Beautystar for reviewing purpose and I’m really glad about the color. Pink toned highlighters look always more natural than for example white colored ones. The Highlighter comes in a pen-shaped form. the material of the pen is plastic and as the packaging it has a pink color and some ornaments on it. It looks lovely, but simply. The product description is unfortunately only in japanese, but as far as I know the product contains hyaloronic acid for providing moisture and indeed, this product doesn’t make your eyes feel dry at the end of the day.

Relevance Highlighter Tip

Other than you would expect, it is not a pencil type highlighter, but it is a sponge-type applicator with the eyeshadow included in the cap. You can twist the cap (it feels like there is a spring inside the cap), and by twisting you dispense the eyeshadow on the sponge applicator. The color of the highlighter is a soft pink color with glitter/shimmer particles. The pigmentation of the eyeshadow is soft and not too opaque, so you can create a natural look. By adding more layers you can double the pigmentation.

Relevance Highlighter Tip

If you look at the before and after pictures, the effect is not too strong on my eyes, which is caused by my dark cicles, but you can see that my appearance looks brighter and awaker in general. If you add conceiler before, keep in mind that this will make the sponge applicator dirty, since you use the sponge directly on top of it. The shimmer particles cause fall-off, unfortunatelly, and so the lasting power of this eyebag highlighter is not optimized for 24 hours, neither for 12 hours. I must point out that I don’t like that kind of glitter particles normally, but here it looks still appropiate for every day use. Also the size of the Relevance Highlighter Tip is perfect for the handbag, so I end up using it every day or every second day in turn with the Etude House Rose Drawing Show Eyeshadow Pencil, despite of the shorter staying power.

Relevance Highlighter Tip Relevance Highlighter Tip

All in all, this is a nice alternative product for eyebag highlighteing. The sponge applicator is kind of unique and I love the twist mechanism for using it. The packaging design is cute and reminds of Etude House Rose Collection. Moreover, the size is travel-friendly. The downsides are the fall-off caused by the glitter particles and the short staying power as a result of this. If you love highlightening your under eye area you might want to check out this product. I received my Relevance Highlighter Tip from Beautystar and I can recommend you to check out their online store. They have some interesting products, but you can also write them if you want any other specific japanese product. The shipping was fast, too, and they added japanese sweets as gift, which is really nice ♥ They also have a youtube chanel where the members try the products they offer or recommend. Here is the video for the Highlighter Tip:

Review: Shiseido Hada Senka Hoshitsu Lotion

30. June 2014

A while ago I baught some Japanese skincare and beauty products, but I never found the time to edit the pictures I had taken. Finally, I managed to write the review on Shiseido Hada Senka Hoshitsu Lotion :) This is a basic toner, from Shiseido’s drug store brand Hada Senka.

Shiseido Hada Senka Hoshitsu Lotion

First of all, as I said, Hada Senka is a drugstore brand from Shiseido. The product range is not expansive and directed towards younger people, since it is a basic skincare line. Also, since it is a japanese brand they use slightly other terms than korean brands do. This product is called a “lotion”, but that doesn’t mean that we have a liquid form of cream here, but it is the equivilant to korean toner or sometimes also called “skin”. That means, that the lotion is used as first step of the skincare routine, after cleansing. This product is also available in two forms, a light version and a heavy version and you can differentiate them according to the color of the cap (pink for the heavy version and white for the light version). I’m showing you the heavy version for dry skin.

Shiseido Hada Senka Hoshitsu Lotion

I bought this as a promotional kit, which is why it came with travel size samples of the Hada Senka Perfect Whip and the Perfect Watery Oil. Also, the set contained samples of the Hada Senka Milk, which is the emulsion from this skincare line. The description of the product is unfortunately only in Japanese. You can find the ingredients listed on COSDNA, too. The key ingredients for moisturization are hyaluronic acid and royal jelly extract. This is also the main reason I wanted to buy this moisturizing toner, because I love the effect of skincare products with hyaluronic acid, since it provides the skin with moisture. The ingredients are safe to use according to COSDNA, but if you have very sensitive skin be aware that this toner contains alcohol.

Shiseido Hada Senka Hoshitsu Lotion

The tones comes in a hard plastic bottle, which appears sturdy. It is milky plastic, so you can see how much is left inside the bottle if you see through it against the light. The bottle comes with a simple cap with a small hole for dispensing, but the application works nice and it is not difficult to get the product out of the bottle. The packaging is not very special, I would rather say the packaging is super boring, but it shows the simplicity of the product. Since shiseido Hada Senka is a cheaper branch of Shiseido I can live with the boring packaging on the other hand.

Shiseido Hada Senka Hoshitsu Lotion

As I said, this is a moisturizing toner containing hyaluronic acid. It does exactly what it claims to do and provides the skin with moisture. The toner is  geltype, so it is not completelly liquid. It has a light alcoholic scent when you pour it out, but the scent dissapears quickly and leaves a scentless product. The lotion absorbs quickly and is not sticky after absorbing. The skin feels soft after apllication. I like this toner a lot. I especially liked to put a few drops of the O.S.T Vitamin C serum in my palm and mix it with the toner. This worked very well! Moreover, this toner has a PH of 5, which makes it work gerat together with active ingredients like vitamin C or BHA/AHAs.

Shiseido Hada Senka Hoshitsu Lotion

Overall, the Shiseido Hada Senka Hoshitsu Lotion is a solid basic lotion with a good pH (weak acidity). It works good with skincare routines containing actives, too! Unfortunatelly, it contains alcohol, so if you have sensitive skin make a patch test before. I bought the promotional kit at Adamsbeauty and it is still available. It costs around 10 US$, which is quite cheap for a japanese product. The great thing is, that there are refills available which makes it very environmental friendly, too. I can totally recommend you to give this affordable product a try!

Unboxing: MeMeBox GetItBeauty 10 Minutes Box

13. June 2014

I know, it is another unboxing post and no review…I’m just so hooked by the various boxes that MeMeBox offers :D This time it is not their global boxes, but one of their themed special boxes. It is called “10 minutes Box” and it should help you to get ready for a date in 10 minutes. I didn’t try if it works with all the products from this box, but I doubt XD But: MeMeBox GetItBeauty 10 Minute Box contains some nice essentials if you want to prep yourself quickly for a date! ♥

MeMeBox GetItBeauty 10 Minutes Box

MeMeBox GetItBeauty 10 Minutes Box

MeMeBox is a box service company, offering a wide amount of different beauty boxes. Unlike most western beauty boxes which have to be subscribed for on a monthly basis, MeMeBoxes can be preordered but that doesn’t force you to buy more than the desired box. They ship to many countries and the products they send in their boxes are mainly Korean. Apart from their monthly Global Boxes like the ones I reviewed previously (check out the links at the end of the post), they also have a huge amount of themed boxes, Mini Boxes, Boxes where you know what is inside, so called Superboxes with a higher value and so on…just check out their online store and you’ll find a huge selection of different boxes. Since they have become very popular within the blogger community they sell out pretty fast, but they bring up new beauty boxes so fast, that you cannot keep up with them anyways.

MeMeBox GetItBeauty 10 Minutes Box

Here are the products I received in this MeMeBox:

MeMeBox GetItBeauty 10 Minutes Box

MeMeBox GetItBeauty 10 Minutes Box

1. Secret Romance Hair Essence Lovely (60 ml) – full size (60 ml) costs US$39)

That’s a considerable price for such a tiny bottle. It is a pheromone hair essence with a has a flowery scent, according to the description a scent of “sensual rose”. The essence contains some oils in order to give your hair some shine. I didn’t use it on towel dry hair as written in the application, but only on dry hair and it smelled nice. I’ll try it again for sure and I’m always happy about new hair products to try.

2. Aromalab Designer Fragnance Oil- American Pheromone Woman Type 01 (8ml) – full size (8ml) costs (US$34)

Another scented product. This is a perfume role on in a travel frienly size. It is the same size like a lipstick as you can see in the image below. When applied first I don’t like the scent because it is very heavy and not the kind of scent I would buy, but after a while the scent turns somewhat less heavy and more sweet.

3. Hope Girl Milky Balm Lipstick Red Burgundy (3.4g) – full size (3.4g) costs US$25

I was super happy about this item. I love lipsticks and I love red colored shades and here is a red colored lipstick. The color is lovely and for me a daily wearable lipstick. And the packaging is beautiful. ♥♥♥ Another shade called Chicago Red was also available in some boxes.

4. Hope Girl Powdery Body Perfume (20 g)- full size (20 g) costs US$49

Again, the price is…..I mean, I would never buy a powder for 50 bucks myself…This one is from the same company as the lipstick and it has a matching design which I totally love ♥. The cap contains a build in powder puff. When you rotate it, the powder is released into the puff and you can apply it. This powder makes your skin look silky and gives it a sweet candy scent. It contains sweat absorbing micro particles. I tried it already and it is a nice powder and gives you definitively some refreshing feel.

5. Laboratory Eyelash Natural Angel 001 (5 pairs) – full size (5 pairs) cost US$5

The first japanese product I received in a MeMeBox! Woohoo! I hope they will add other japanese brands in the globaly available MeMeBoxes (I saw one korean MeMeBox with a Kate eyeshadow palette *_*). I don’t wear lashes often, but for special occasions I try to wear some. The design of the lashes I received it really nice and volumous. There were 5 different designs available in this MeMeBox.

MeMeBox GetItBeauty 10 Minutes Box

MeMeBox GetItBeauty 10 Minutes Box

This MeMeBox was mainly focused on scented products: we have a roll-on perfume, a perfumed hair essence and a scented body powder. I think it could be hit or miss with scented products, but they all will make you feel clean and fresh for a date night. Nobody wants to smell bad on a date- even if you don’t have much time to prepare yourself. The pheromones in two of the products and the red lipstick add some seductive touch to your date night. I think the combination is a nice idea all in all. I’m especially happy about the Hope Girl products. They have a lovely leo pattern and together with the Hope Girl Nail Polish Kit from my previous MeMeBox Global No. 11 they look like a super cute trio. ♥

This beauty box costs 23 US$, plus shipping (6.99 US$ for standard shipping). Unfortunately , it is already sold out, but they have so many new boxes, just take a look at MeMeBox to discover all the different Boxes they offer. But I think I never paid the full price for any of the MeMeBoxes I ordered up to now. They always have so many ways to save money, by coupons and other promotions. I can definitively recommend you to check out MeMeBox online store.

Review: Kose Visee Glossy Rich Eyeshadow Palette No.3

25. May 2014

If I would pick a favourite for this month it would definitively be the Kose Visee Glossy Rich Eyeshadow Palette that I’ve bought recently. As some of you might know, Kose is a Japanese cosmetic brand with various subbrands. Visee is one of their subbrands, having a couple of nicely designed makeup products. I love the colors and I love the design of this mini palette and- most important- I used it so often already, although I’m normally not wearing eyeshadows a lot. But this cute palette sweept me off my feet. I’m not an expert in eyeshadow reviewing, and I’m sure there are other eyeshadows with a excellent quality, but never the less I would like to share my opinion about it. ♥

A lot of people will understand why I fell for this packaging design. It is super elegant and yet playfull. I love the ornamented lid so much ♥ The brandname is written in a curly font on the lid, too. The fabricant plastic is of standard quality. It is glossy, so you’ll see fingerprints on it easily. The palette comes in a hard plastic packaging with description written on it. Unfortunately all the description is written in Japanese, but there is an image on the backside showing how to use the colors together.

Let’s take another look at the beauty: The imprint on the eyeshadows is so beautiful ♥

Kose Visee’s Glossy Rich eyes are available in 8 different palettes. My palette is No. 3 and it has  a rose/burgundy Theme. The palette consists of four eyeshadow colors which can be used together nicely. A small applicator  with two sides is provided, too, but no mirror.

The pigmentation of the colors is nice and visible. They contain tiny shimmer particles. The brightest color on the top left is the base color providing the glow. The eyeshadows are soft when applied and are easily blendable. The pigmentation is buildable to a certain degree, too. Below you can see how the eyeshadows look on me:

You can create nice looks with this palette and the colors are really wearable for every day look. But they also can be used for a romantic look. I really love how easy they are to blend and how soft the eyeshadow powder feels. The shimmer is not too extreme either. After a couple of uses unfortunatelly the nice imprint on the shadows dissapears and a little fall off from the eyeshadows lies inside the lid, but all in all these are minor points. I’ll definitively keep my eyes out for other Kose Visee products in future. This was my first time trying this brand, but not my last :D I bought my palette at Ichibankao for 2050 Yen which makes around 20 US$

Review: Fairydrops Platinum Mascara Film Type

12. May 2014
I love my Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumescara (review >>here<<) and it is one of my favourite mascaras for everyday use. Nevertheless, I want to try other mascaras, too, especially since there is a wide range of Japanese mascaras which have a good reputation. Fairydrops is one of these brands I was especially curious about. The Platinum Mascara was receiving lots of good reviews, so it was my first choice in the end. And I don’t regret that decision :)

This mascara is a film type fiber mascara, which is supposed to volume and curl your lashes and make them look longer on top. This sounds like everything one needs when looking for a good mascara. The mascara and its packaging are really pretty. The colors of both of them are mainly golden, with black symbols/ornaments all over. I really do like the packaging.

I read that the main ingredients of the mascara are moisturizing, which is great. Unfortunately the product description and the ingredients are only written in Japanese, so I couldn’t translate them. :/
The wand of this mascara is curved and consists of three rounded parts. This helps to catch all the lashes, even the smaller ones.
The effect of the mascara is clearly visible in the pictures below. My lashes are curved and look longer and denser at the same time.

I love this mascara as much as I love the one from Etude House. Its also super easy to remove because it is a film-type mascara. I’m completely happy! The only downside is, that it is quite expansive. I bought mine at AdamBeauty for around 18 US$, but the price can go up to 25 US$ depending on were you order.

Review: Hadalabo Shirojyun Medicated Bikhaku Whitening Facial Mask ♥sponsored♥

14. November 2013
Here is a short sheet mask review again. This time it is Hadalabo’s Shirojyun Medicated Bikhaku Whitening Face Mask I received from BeautyChamber. This is Japanese brand I heard from often, but never tried.

The packaging is nothing special and rather boring with a lot of Japanese characters on the front and a detailed Japanese description on the back. Unfortunately there is no English description on it, but actually we can guess, that this mask is to be used in the same way as all the other sheet masks.
I’d love to know the ingredients of this mask, but unfortunately I couldn’t find them anywhere. So if you have any idea what the sheet mask essence contains, please write a comment. I think it contains Arbutin as whitening ingredient. At least the scent of the essence was rather medical. the sheet was soaked nicely with essence and wasn’t dripping, although I thought it might happen. the essence absorbed also quickly into the skin. As to the effects: I had the feeling my skin was brightened. That was great because I didn’t think to notice anything after only using one mask. The downside was (apart from the scent, which is not my favourite) that I had the feeling that the mask left my skin with a dry feeling. Did anyone else try this mask and had the same experience? I personally would not repurchase it, simply because of the dry feeling of the skin afterwards, but if you like to try the brightening effect you can probably just use a moisturizer afterwards.Unfortunately I don’t know how much this costs, but I think that you’ll be able to buy it in a box. I saw these in a 4 piece box on www.sasa.com for 11.50 US$ on sale.
You can get this mask from BeautyChamber. It is not listed on the online store, but you can ask for a quote. Check out the facebook page of BeautyChamber, too: https://www.facebook.com/beautychamber2013
