Review: Peripera Peri’s Ink Stick

Peripera lip products are widely known among Korean beauty lovers and still, I had so many tints and lipsticks from other brands that I never tried them out. It was inevitable that our ways would cross some time and here it is, my first review of the Clio Peripera brand, the Peripera Peri’s Ink Stick, thanks to a giveaway and reviewing opportunity by 0.8L Germany.

Club Clio Professional was founded by makeup artists in 1993 and they opened their first flagship in Seoul in 1998. They carry brands like Peripera and Goodal and the brand Clio of course. I tried the Clio Lipniqure and the Clio Kill Black Waterproof Pen Liner before but neither of the other brands.

The Peripera Peri’s Ink Stick is a matte powdery lipstick for a long-lasting stain of your lips and although it has a similar shape to the Peripera Liquid Inks this one is not liquid at all. When I first saw the product I thought that I would have to push out the black part which looks like a dropper, but then I discovered that you have to remove the lower see-through plastic part.

And as you see, removing that part reveals the lipstick bullet! The shade I’m showing here is No.3 called “Love Hunter”. It is a vibrant tomato red and perfect for a bright pop of color in summer. There are 6 different shades available for the Peripera Peri’s Ink Stick. The bullet feels powdery when you use it on your lips and doesn’t have any moisturizing effects. It simply creates an evenly colored layer of stain on your lips. The stain is buildable and pigmented, but can be blended out into a more soft look. I discovered that it has really a long-lasting pigmentation. My lips were stained from morning on even after lunch. Then the stain started to fade slowly but not completely.

Peripera Peri’s Ink Stick is definitely great for achieving a long-lasting matte stain on your lips. The stain is drink and meal proof for some time and fades slowly. The swatches on the back of my hand were even visible after taking a shower. It doesn’t have any moisturizing properties, so if you have dry lips you want to apply lip balm on top, which will probably reduce the lasting power of the stain.

Nail Art with Crack Holographic Nail Foil

Holographic Nail Foil has been quite of a trend in the past few months and I was curious about this Nail Art Technique. Despite being not really a genious or talent considering Nail Art I gave it a try by testing out the Crack Holographic Nail Foil from Born Pretty Store.

Born Pretty Store is an asian based online store selling very affordable products, reaching from accessories to make-up and beauty products. They have a super huge amount of all kinds of nail art products and tools. They also have a super large amount of stamping plates and tools needed for stamping nail art, like I showed in my previous nail art post which was quite a long time ago :D.

The holographic nail foils from Born Pretty Store come each packed in a tiny plastic tube, which is really a great way to protect and store the foil. The foil is 1 m long and 4 cm in its width, which lasts for a really long time, since you do not need a lot for your nails. This Crack Holographic Nail Foil has a golden crackling appearance. It can be used on regular Nail Polish and UV nail polish, too. Since it is a fine golden motif it looks best on darker nail polish shades, because it will be more visible then.

In order to use these kinds of foils you have to go through these steps:

1. Prepare your nail bed by shaping, pushing cuticles back and removing all oils (do this using professional nail prep or nail polish remover).
2. Apply a base coat, and wait until dry.
3. Apply nail polish (dark color is better), wait until dry, and apply the polish again. Wait until dry again, but this time the nail polish should not be totally dry, but a gentle fingerprint should be left on the nails when you press your finger on the nail.
4. Press the foil shiny side up onto the nail and rub over it using your finger, or for a better more precise application, use a rubber hoof stick. Different colors of foils can mixed on the nails.
5. Remove the foil and the foil pattern should be stuck to your nail. If a bit is missing, just apply the top coat to the part not taken and repeat step.4
6. Once completely dry, apply a coat to protect the foil.

I needed a couple of tries until it works out, but usually my nail art is limited to a simple red nail polish. I discovered that it is more difficult to use on jelly-type nailpolishes and best to use on those nail polishes which do not stay soft for a long time. You’ll have the risk to remove your second nail polish layer otherwise, instead of transferring the motif from the foil. I used a simple black polish from a cheap drug store brand here. I think black polish or red one gives a nice contrast to the golden color, but also dark green or blue would look nice I guess.

How do you like the effect of the crack holographic nail foil? It really took me a long time until I found which nail polish works with the foil and how to do it the best way, but still it is some fun way to try new nail art. Another thing which I really like is that it is super affordable and even if it doesn’t work for you you didn’t spend a lot of money on it either. Pink Sheer Mesh Pleated Ballerina Skirt from SheIn

I’ve been looking for a ballerina-type skirt for quite some time and finally I found one on SheIn. The Pink Sheer Mesh Pleated Ballerina Skirt does have this princess-y vibes, but also can be combined to an elegant garment.

SheIn, formerly known as Sheinside, is an online fashion retailer since 2008, providing affordable fashion targeting women. Apart from clothing like dresses, tops and bottoms, you will also find accessories, shoes and jewelry.

I’ve been seeing these kind of ballerina skirts much more frequently in the last years and I think it is a great idea to have one in your wardrobe. This pink colored mesh pleated skirt I’m showing here has a midi length and has an under skirt which is covered by a mesh layer. The waist is made from a stretchy part at the back and a non-stretch part in the front. It is also a one-sized skirt, but the stretch is only working to an extend. There is a ribbon on one side which can be used to bind a bow for decoration on the side. The material is made from polyester. The skirt looks lovely when combined with a corsage, for example like the one showed in the images.

The Pink Sheer Mesh Pleated Ballerina Skirt retails for 17.99 US$ on SheIn. Starting from 27th to 28th they will have a clearance sale as well. And they have a whole bunch of new off-shoulder blouses available at the moment. Remember my wishlist for off-shoulder blouses?!

Dresslink Wishlist

I love discovering new online shops for clothes and accessories! In the past I did a couple of orders with taobao, which was always a bit complicated because you had to work with Google Translate and an agent for shipping. Recently more and more online stores are available that have much of the similar items as you would find on taobao. One of my recent discoveries is Dresslink. I made a little wishlist of a few items I would like to try from this store:

Currently, I’m looking for a backpack. I have so many things to carry around that I don’t want to put all the stress on one shoulder. I found this backpack which can be used as shoulder bag, too! Sounds perfect for me!

I’m also on the hunt for some summer maxi dresses. The good thing about maxi dresses are that they are flattering for short people and they can be worn at work (at least for my work :D)…also they remind me at beach holidays.

Dresslink has also some beauty products like makeup and brushes etc. The eyeshadow palette above is super adorable. I love the design and the color selection of the eyeshadows. Last but not leat I found some pretty headbands like the one below. It looks really pretty in combination with the hair up-do of the model.

I reviewed the Kawaii Box a couple of times ago and it is always filled with so many cute items from Japan and Korea, reaching from stationary, stickers, charms, and even plushies. Usually, my favorite products from these kinds of boxes are the stationary items or the anime based plushies. So I will start off with my favorite items from this box: the Egg Highlighter Set is definitely one of these items! The box came with 6 of these cute, tiny eggs, each illustrated with an adorable animal face. All the markers have a distinct color, as you can see from the coloring of the bottom of the eggs.

My second favorite product is the Ghost Family Pen. This gel pen is especially unique, since it can be erased with the rubber on the end of the pen. I never had a gel liner which is erasable, too…I was totally astonished!

And there is no Kawaii Box without cute stickers inside…this box came with Juwelry Seal Deko Stickers and Glow in the Dark Stickers. Another cute thing are these Bonjour Envelopes. I’m sure your friends will love to receive a letter or gift in these :D ♥

The Kawaii Face Mini Purse and the Emoticon Squichy Charm are both suited to keep your chains. Moreover the box came with a 3D Panda Card Sticker and some Girly Pastel Hair Loops and Pins. The later are perfect for kids.

And as with every Kawaii Box there are some sweets included, too: The Oekaki Sherbet DIY Candy Kit and the Anpanman Ramune Candy! I didn’t try them yet, but the DIY jelly looks kind of cute with the animal shapes. Last but not least the box came with a Korean Deco Tape Set. The set included three mini dispensers and 9 different tapes with colorful motives. I love the tapes!

Totoro inspired Outfit by Romwe

Like many people in the AB community I cannot resist cutely designed products and it is the same for me with clothes. I love for example shoulder bags with fun and cute motifs and I do love T-shirts with anime or Disney prints for example. So I created this Totoro inspired Outfit by Romwe for you guys, hoping that the one or the another might enjoy this post:

Romwe is an online fashion retailer with the saying “from runway to realway”, selling fashionable clothes for affordable prices. They ship internationally, and you will find very unique fashion items there from time to time. You can check some of my previous reviews of their clothing, for example my review for the floral pleated skirt or the striped Mix & Match Dress.

For my Totoro inspired outfit by Romwe I simply spotted this T-shirt with the Totoro print and combined it with a classic blue denim shorts. The T-Shirt is a simple white shirt with a round color made from polyester with a very soft and nice touch. It is one-sized and therefore for small-sized people it will be a loose shirt. It is a thin material and perfect for summer. I’m absolutely in love with the motif. ♥

For summer a denim shorts is always a great combination for a simple shirt. The material has no stretch. It comes with pockets and a high waist fit. The shorts are available in 5 sizes (S,M,L, XL, XXL), but they are on the smaller side. I chose size L and it has a good fit for me.

In combination the two clothing items fit perfectly together. The shirt can be either tucked into the shorts or worn loose. A perfect outfit for everyday summer :D Both clothes have a nice material and are sewn properly.

Review: Banila Co. Glam Muse Luster Lipstick

You know I have an obsession with lipsticks so it is time for another lipstick review. I kindly received the Banila Co. Glam Muse Luster Lipstick by Korean cosmetics online shop Qdepot some time ago and although my initial wish for a product for reviewing was another item which was out of stock I accepted the offer for this product mainly out of two reasons: I never reviewed any products from Banila Co, and I loved the packaging design!

Banila Co. first came into my focus when everybody started to rave about their Cleansing Balm. I even bought a couple of samples of it in order to try but I didn’t have the chance to write the reviews yet. Other than that this Korean brand reminds me of benefit when I look at their logo and design of their skincare and makeup products.

The Banila Co. Glam Muse Luster Lipstick is from the Glam Muse Makeup line and all the products have the same patterns and ornaments. The design is not only restricted to the cardboard boxes of the products and it is also present on the products themselves.

The Banila Co. Glam Muse Luster Lipstick is available in 6 shades and you will also find additional description about the lipstick on Qdepot. The shade I’m showing you here is shade LRD331, a rosy-pink shade with shimmering particles. It applies smoothly and leaves a sheen on the lips. Due to the creamy texture it is not long lasting though and dissappearsee quickly. It doesn’t leave visible stain on my lips either, but still the color is pretty, even though usually I prefer lipsticks without shimmer particles. Since the product also contains argan oil and palm seed oil it has also a moisturizing effect and is not drying on the lips.

If you are looking for a creamy and naturally colored lipstick the Banila Co. Glam Muse Luster Lipstick in shade LRD331 might be a good choice for you. It is not long-lasting and not too opaque though, but rather makes your lips look natural and shiny. It is a good everyday-lips color in my eyes. The Banila Co. Glam Muse Luster Lipstick retails for 11.81 US$ at Q-depot and they have up to 35 % discount on products from Banila Co. at the moment.

Review: Laneige Multiberry Yoghurt Pack

Recently, I was contacted by Global Interpark, an e-commerce company in Seoul, whether I would like to chose any product from their shopping mall for reviewing. I didn’t know about Interpark before, but I learnt that they are the very first company to provide e-commerce service in Korea. There are over 800,000 items listed on their website and around 5,000 items are translated focussing on K-beauty and K-pop related items. I used this opportunity and selected the Laneige Multiberry Yoghurt Pack with had been on my wishlist for a long time.

Laneige is a Korean brand, part of the Amore Pacific Group. The brand name comes from the french word for snow which is “la neige”. The brand name reflects the beauty of young women between 24 and 32 years by focusing on water as source of life. Therefore the products design is more mature and clean, reflecting the image of moisture obtained through water. The Laneige Water Sleeping Pack is probably the more famous mask pack by Laneige, but the Laneige Multiberry Yoghurt Pack does sound super delicious and on top has a pink colored jar...so what to say more?! :D In contrast to the sleeping pack this pack has to be washed off after leaving it for a couple of minutes on your face.

The jar comes in a very simple cardboard box with the typical blue and white colors of Laneige. It doesn’t have many descriptions either, but inside the cardboard box you will find an instruction paper with descriptions, also in English. The Laneige Multiberry Yoghurt Pack is ‘designed to nourish the skin from deep inside and leave it supple’. It contains Soghurty, a specialized fermented yoghurt which promotes collagen synthesis and enhances the defense abilities of the skin from harmful external causes, according to the description. The berryblend complex, containing berry extracts from Raspberries, Blueberries, Wolfberries, Cranberries and Strawberries, supplies the skin with antioxidants and delivers nutrition. You can find a list of all ingredients on COSDNA. There are some minor irritants in the list, so be sure to check them out beforehand.

There is a spatula included in the packaging, so you do not have to worry about using your fingers for spooning out the pack. It has a creamy consitency and especially a very very delicious scent. I can only say that it smells like fruit yoghirt so I was really tempted to give it a try (but I didn’t!). The color is mainly white, but with a hint of pink. Spreaded it also feels like firm yoghurt and spreads easily, without being drippy. It will stay on your face and you don’t need to worry about dripping it all over. The pack can be left on the face for 5-10 minutes and washed off with lukewarm water afterwards. The skin feels – as promised- supple and nice and nourished and up to this point I cannot find anything negative about it.

The Laneige Multiberry Yoghurt Pack fullfilled my expectations in every point. I think that this is a good quality wash-off maks with a delicious scent and this might be the only downside for some people who do not like scented products. I was surprised to read that the yoghurt was fermented, because I didn’t know that before, and as a lover of fermented products I’m happy to have chosen this wash off pack. It will definitely stay in my collection and be used up to its end. The Laneige Multiberry Yoghurt Pack retails for 18.47 US$ from Global Interpark.

Off-Shoulder Fashion Obsession

Since I spotted this lovely review from my sister wearing this off-shoulder top I’m totally obsessed to get some of these myself. While browsing through SheIn (formerly known as SheInside) I spotted this beautiful selection of off-shoulder tops and dresses. Which is your favorite?

Did you see that this spring and summer everything seems to be overflowing with off-shoulder pieces?! They have been popular in the past and just like everything in fashion the trend returns sooner or later. I’ve always loved these kind of tops and dresses, since they combine cute and feminine on the same time.
