Review: YBPN Is It Me You Are Looking For Extraordinary Volume Mascara

I’m always searching for a good and volumizing mascara, and I want to take you along my mascara journey today. These days, I’ve been using the YBPN Is It Me You Are Looking For Extraordinary Volume Mascara. I received this mascara as PR gift during the Erborian x YBPN Event in Cologne, which I attended some time ago.

First of all, YBPN is no pure make-up brand, originally it stands for “Your Beauty Professional Network” and is an expert network of 1200 perfume stores in Germany. Moreover, the network allows you to get useful information about the participating stores, spreads useful tips and knowledge about beauty products, and now they are also launching accessible and affordable makeup products like the YBPN Is It Me You Are Looking For Extraordinary Volume Mascara.

I received the mascara in a beautiful YBPN make-up Pouch saying “Mein Schönstes Ich”, which means “my most beautiful me”, and also represents the way that this network wants to connect and communicate with their customers.

Also, the cardboard packaging reflects the signature colors of YBPN, using black, white and pink. “Is It Me You Are Looking For” is an original and catchy name for a mascara, too, and makes it stand out. Since it is a volumizing mascara it is supposed to give more volume to the eyelashes, but also make them appear longer.

The mascara tube itself is neat and simply designed, showing the name of the mascara in silver-colored lettering. It contains 15ml of black mascara.

The YBPN Is It Me You Are Looking For Extraordinary Volume Mascara comes with a rubber wand with a pointed end for reaching smaller lashes, too. The formula is smudge-proof and can be applied in several layers to intensify the effect.

Here are the ingredients of the mascara:

Aqua (Water), Glyceryl Stearate, Copernicia Cerifera Cera (Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax), Acrylates Copolymer, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Vp/Hexadecene Copolymer, C12-16 Alcohols, Cera Microcristallina (Microcrystalline Wax), Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Benzyl Alcohol, Ceteth-10 Phosphate, Dicetyl Phosphate, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Lecithin, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Palmitic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Hydroxide, Citric Acid, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, BHT, CI 77499 (Iron Oxides)

Above, you can see me without any mascara on the left and with one layer of the YBPN Is It Me You Are Looking For Extraordinary Volume Mascara on the right. I think you can clearly see the difference. It makes the lashes appear thicker and denser and visibly makes them longer. Also, the eyelashes show a nice curl that lasts all day while I’m wearing makeup. So far, I’m happy with this mascara, since it brings out the eyelashes very nicely. It also doesn’t have a formula that feels clumpy or gooey on the lashes but applies smoothly. what do you think?

Review: Catalina Geo Lash Power Volumizing Mascara

We all know that skincare works different depending on your skintype and skin sensitivity on each individual. How about mascara? Also here, we have the problem, that every person has different eye lashes, some have more and some have less. And also the length of our lashes is different from one another. I have long lashes, but not many. Luckily my lashes are black, so I do not need mascara to make them show up. I need mascara to give volume to my lashes and to give them a nice upward curl. The Catalina Geo Lash Power Volumizing Mascara promises exactly that. Does it also perform like its name?

Catalina Geo belongs to Lamy Cosmetics , a Korean cosmetics company with 6 different cosmetics brands: Renoma, Geo, Sortie, Mennen, Lafine, and Catalina Geo. I reviewed some products of their range already previously. This is the first time trying a mascara from Catalina Geo.

The Catalina Geo Long Power Volumizing Mascara is a 3D volumizing mascara that is supposed to give you a detailled long lash look. The mascara also claims to be long-lasting for up to 12 hours.

The Catalina Geo Lash Power Volumizing Mascara comes in a cardboard box in a golden reflecting paper. You will see fine ornaments on the box too. Inside that cardboard box is the mascara tube. The mascara tube has the same golden color as the box and looks really beautiful. I love the ornaments on both the mascara tube and the cardboard box.

The design of the mascara is so pretty and really looks luxurious. When opening the twist-off cap you will find a straight bristle brush inside. The mascara I received has shade No. 6 which is a matte black mascara. The diameter of the brush is medium and easy to use on most eyes and lashes.

This mascara applies very easy and makes my lashes look more defined and curled upwards. It also makes them appear longer but doesn’t clump the lashes together. The lashes appear thicker than without the coat of mascara, which gives the eyesmore depth. The mascara lasts all day with me and the lashes are still curled in the evening. It doesn’t provide volume to my lashes as the name suggests. but it makes your lashes curled and appear longer. As a last plus, this mascara is easy to cleanse off.

This mascara was provided to me by BNTnews, and I didn’t find them online yet to tell you the retail price. But I do like the Catalina Geo Lash Power Volumizing Mascara! The packaging design is super pretty and elegant and the mascara holds my curled lashes all day long. It also makes them look more defined. Unfortunately, it doensn’t do anything for volumizing the lashes though. What is your favorite mascara?

Review: Too Cool For School Check Hot Girl Lash

Spring and summer are always the seasons where the make-up choice gets more colorful. Therefore, I’m introducing the new Too Cool For School Check Hot Girl Lash to you today, a colorful mascara selection by my favorite Korean design cosmetic brand Too Cool For School.

Too Cool For School is a Korean brand, known for a unique packaging design. Their products are in the mid-pricey region and slightly more expansive than Etude House for example. The Too Cool For School Check Hot Girl Lash belongs to the Check line of Too Cool For School, which all have a checkered/plaid pattern design as common characteristic. I like plaid pattern in general and it reminds me of school uniforms and/or punk(rock) fashion.

The Too Cool For School Check Hot Girl Lash mascara comes in a checked cardboard box. The paper of the the box has not only the checked pattern printed on, but also has the pattern imprinted into the surface, so you can feel it. It looks like a high quality packaging that way. The description on the cardboard box is short and in Korean only, but you will find a lot of pictures and more Korean description on the official Too Cool For School page.

Too Cool For School Check Hot Girl Lash is a colorful volume mascara, which helps creating a unique makeup look. It is available in three shades, which are No.1 Nuts Brown, No.2 Royal Blue and No.3 Raspberry Pink. I received No. 3 with my BNTnews Box for July, a pink/plum colored mascara. The Too Cool For School Check Hot Girl Lash mascaras come in smaller containers than other mascaras have regularly. Therefore the wand is also shorter, which makes it a bit easier to use and to control.

The consistency of the mascara is creamy. The texture is soft yet not cakey and allows a long-lasting effect. This product presents the Curl-up Polymer technology, which preserves a water and sweat-proof C-curve for a long time. The wand has a curved shaped, too, as you can see in the images. I tried the mascara on my bare lashes for the images below and used one layer and I must admit that it does a good job in curling the lashes and holding the curl. My lashes are naturally dark, so it is difficult to see bright colors on them. It gives them rather a light pop of color than being super pigmented. since I never were super colorful eye make-up I’m not bothered by that fact. I think it will look much brighter and colorful on people with naturally light/blonde lashes. On the Too Cool For School page you will even see some suggestions on how to in-cooperate these mascaras into pretty eye make-up looks.

I really like the small size of the Too Cool For School Check Hot Girl Lash mascaras, since it is very travel friendly. Nevertheless, I would love if they added a regular black color to it, although I would be intrigued to try the brown version. Although I’m not really wearing very bright and colorful eye make-up I’m positively surprised by the pink color, since it makes the eyes appear softer and might look good with very minimalistic make-up, too. Considering the curling effect, this mascara does what it promises and give a nice curl, too. The Too Cool For School Check Hot Girl Lash mascaras retail for 12000 Won from the official Too Cool For School page. Since it is a new item it might take some time before it is available in other online stores.

Review: Innisfree Skinny & Jumbo Dualcara

It is not too long ago that I reviewed the Innisfree Soy Essence Volume Mascara, but I couldn’t resist to try the Innisfree Skinny & Jumbo Dualcara. I loved the idea of having a two sided wand applicator with one small and one thicker brush.

Innisfree is an eco-friendly Korean skincare and makeup brand focusing on natural ingredients and recycle packaging. The design of their products is simply and neat and nicely reflects the ideology of the brand. Innisfree products are ususally free from harmful ingredients, but for this mascara I couln’t find any ingredientslist. This dual wand mascara (or dualcara) comes with two different wands and makes it easier to design your lashes this way. The packaging is black and white mostly, with some stripes around. It is simple, but yet doen’t look cheap.

It has some short description written on it in Korean and it also has the production date printed on one side.

I had another dualcara in the past which had one side a white/transparant mascara to volumize and another black side for the color. That mascara had both containers in the middle part and the brushes on each ends. Other than that mascara the Innisfree Skinny & Jumbo Dualcara has the two containers on each ends and the brushes in the middle. The container for the skinny mascara contains 5 g of product, whereas the container for the jumbo mascara contains 7 g. The skinny brush has a diameter of 2.5 mm. This brush makes it easy to reach all your lashes, even the tiny lower lashes in the corner of your eyes. You can also use the skinny brush on your upper lashes to give them a perfect curl and define them nicely. The jumbo brush is thick and has a S-curved shape. The tip of this brush is formed like a ball. This brush gives the volume to your lashes and also curls them.

The formula of this mascara is film-typed. It doesn’t smudge and holds the curl all day. Below you’ll see how my lashes look like without and with mascara. You can see that even the small lower lashes look more obvious using this mascara. My upper lashes appear more curled and thicker, too.

I’m using this mascara almost daily now, because I love the two brushes. It makes reaching the lower lashes so much easier! I can recommend this mascara to you. There are other mascara by Innisfree called Skinny Longlongcara and Skinny Microcara and I saw Pony using one of them often in her tutorials. If you cannot decide wether you’ll like such a skinny brush you could also try out this one. this way you still have the ususal thicker brush in case you do not like the skinny wand. I received mine from KollectionK and it retails 18.23 US$. It is also available for 19.36 US$ at W2Bauty.

Review: Innisfree Soy Essence Volume Mascara

A while ago I purchased some great Innisfree products for 50 % doscount at testerkorea. One of these is the Innisfree Soy Essence Volume Mascara. This is my second Korean mascara, after I tried the Etude House Lash Perm 3 Steps Volumescara, and I love it ♥

Innisfree is an eco-friendly Korean skincare and makeup brand focusing on natural ingredients and recycle packaging. The design of their products is simply and neat and nicely reflects the ideology of the brand. Innisfree products are ususally free from harmful ingredients. In this case I didn’t find detailled information about the ingredients, but, as said in the name, the formula uses soy essence from black beans in order to give your lashes extra care. The packaging is very simple and it didn’t have an extra box with detailled information. The body of the mascara bottle has a matte brown color. Because of the color I was first unsure which color the mascara has, but it is a black colored mascara.

Other than this the packaging is not really special and doesn’t have any kind of ornaments or decorative elements. It looks simple and mature like most of Innisfree’s products. The brush of the mascara is medium, I would say. It is not super thin, nor is it very thick. The wand has a normal length like almost all mascaras have. You can see the production date printed on the bottle, too.

Below you can see how the mascara looks on my lashes. It makes my lashes look thicker and gives them a nice curl. All in all, my lashes get more visible. The consistency is creamy and you feel that there is some kind of essence in it, because it feels a bit “heavier”. It wasn’t bothering though. I have to point out that this mascara is a fibretype mascara and it is not easy to remove. It works best with some eye make-up remover and warm water. On the other hand, I didn’t experience any fall-off or smudging with this mascara and I love using it.

Innisfree Soy Essence Volume Mascara is a good and affordable mascara that I enjoy using. It costs 14.68 US$ at W2Bauty for 9g of product. There are also other types of this mascara, like the Innisfree Soy Essence Curling mascara and the Soy Essence Waterproof mascara available. Other than that you can get it from testerkorea for 10000 Won/10 US$ (shipping not included). I’m really happy that I got mine during the 50% sale, because it was such a great deal for 5 bucks only :D.

Review: Fairydrops Platinum Mascara Film Type

I love my Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumescara (review >>here<<) and it is one of my favourite mascaras for everyday use. Nevertheless, I want to try other mascaras, too, especially since there is a wide range of Japanese mascaras which have a good reputation. Fairydrops is one of these brands I was especially curious about. The Platinum Mascara was receiving lots of good reviews, so it was my first choice in the end. And I don’t regret that decision :)

This mascara is a film type fiber mascara, which is supposed to volume and curl your lashes and make them look longer on top. This sounds like everything one needs when looking for a good mascara. The mascara and its packaging are really pretty. The colors of both of them are mainly golden, with black symbols/ornaments all over. I really do like the packaging.

I read that the main ingredients of the mascara are moisturizing, which is great. Unfortunately the product description and the ingredients are only written in Japanese, so I couldn’t translate them. :/

The wand of this mascara is curved and consists of three rounded parts. This helps to catch all the lashes, even the smaller ones.

The effect of the mascara is clearly visible in the pictures below. My lashes are curved and look longer and denser at the same time.

I love this mascara as much as I love the one from Etude House. Its also super easy to remove because it is a film-type mascara. I’m completely happy! The only downside is, that it is quite expansive. I bought mine at AdamBeauty for around 18 US$, but the price can go up to 25 US$ depending on were you order.

I’ve been wondering for a long time if it is worth a try to buy a mascara from an Asian brand, but I actually never new which one to try first. And each time I was really in need of a mascara, I preferred to buy one in the local drugstores here in Germany. On the other hand, I heard a lot of positive feedback about Etude House’s Lash Perm 3 Step Volumescara, and luckily twofacemall gave me the opportunity to finally try this mascara. (^_^)/ ♥

Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumescara Black Minnie Edition

I was not really aware of the fact, that they changed the packaging of the Lash Perm 3 Step Volumescara for the Etude House XOXO Minnie collection, but it’s only the packaging which they changed. The mascara itself is the same as it was before. Actually, since I already was in love with the XOXO Minnie collection before (see my reviews on the other products from this collection >>here<< and >>here<<), it made me even more happy, that I got this :D

Here is the description for Etude House’s Lash Perm 3 Step Volumescara and some pictures of the packaging ♥:

The mascara is not the largest one, but you can change between 3 steps in order to create the desired degree of volume on your lashes. The wand is on the shorter side, but it was easily to use and handle. The color of this mascara is black, but it is available in brown, too (for the standard packing though). Since I already have long lashes (at least I’m happy with the length), I was especially curious for the volume. I tried to show the effects on some pictures, but I don’t know if it is visible nicely :/ , but I can tell you, that this mascara totally convinced me: It gives my lashes a curl that lasts all day long and it makes them appear perfectly dense when applying the 3 steps. And this is all I want from a good mascara. Also, although I was not primarily looking for any lengthening, this mascara lengthens my lashes visible and it didn’t smudge all over and around my eyes during the day. The only thing which is not included in this mascara is waterproof-ness, but it doesn’t claim to be waterproof either.

I can totally recommend this mascara and I’m really happy that I finally did try an Asian mascara. If you are looking for a fun-to-use mascara which gives you volume and length and a nice curl you can go perfectly fine with this one.

As I mentioned above, I received this from twofacemall and you can get it from their shop for US$15.90. The mascara contains 9.5 g. The brown mascara is available for US$15.26. They offer free worldwide shipping, too, and they give samples with every order.
