Review: iUnik Rose Galactomyces Essential Toner & Synergy Serum

25. January 2018

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / SKINCARE //

A while ago I was contacted by the Korean brand iUnik whether I would like to try and test their products. While browsing through their website I discovered the iUnik Rose Galactomyces Essential Toner and Synergy Serum and I knew that these would be the products that I would love to test. After all, I love roses and I love fermented ingredients.

iUnik Rose Galactomyces

IUnik is a newer Korean brand that has launched a couple of interesting skincare products. Their packaging design is simple but neat, and the products sound promising. you can check out the products >>here<< on the official webpage.

iUnik Rose Galactomyces

I selected the iUnik Rose Galactomyces Essential Toner and Synergy Serum because I love it when I have a serum and toner from the same line. Next to each other, they look very pretty and perfect. But not only from the outside, but the inside also contains some notable ingredients, too.

iUnik Rose Galactomyces

iUnik Rose Galactomyces Essential Toner

Let’s start of with the iUnik Rose Galactomyces Essential Toner. The toner has acne-fighting, brightening, and anti-aging properties. This toner helps to moisturize, re-balance and soften even sensitive skin types with rosa damascena flower water (70%) and galactomyces ferment filtrate (10%). Moreover, it is paraben-free, sulfate-free, and free from alcohol. The ingredients of the products can be checked via SkinCarisma. Rose Damascena flower water has anti-oxidative properties and acts skin conditioning. Fermentation extract is nutrient-rich. It contains many vitamins, amino acids, and proteins and helps to improve the moisture level of the skin. Adenosine has anti-aging benefits. Moreover, it contains Licorice extract, which has anti-inflammatory properties and acts brightening. The toner comes in a large bottle containing 200ml. the bottle is made from plastic and lightweight. The formulation is a clear and water-like one (I haven’t shown any pictures this time, because both look similar on them). It has a pleasant rose scent and absorbs quickly, leaving a tiny bit of tackiness behind. The skin feels very moist and nice after application and I feel it makes the skin feel more bouncy, too.

iUnik Rose Galactomyces

iUnik Rose Galactomyces Synergy Serum

The iUnik Rose Galactomyces Synergy Serum is dedicated to nourishing and pore control, as well as whitening and anti-aging properties. According to the description, it is especially great if you want to tackle your T-zone and even out the oil/moisture balance of the skin. You can check out the ingredients on SkinCarisma again. Here we have 50% Galactomyces ferment and 10% rose water. Other notable ingredients are niacinamide for brightening, allantoin for soothing, sodium hyaluronate for moisturizing and aloe extract for soothing. The serum comes in a glass bottle with a dropper attached. The consistency of the serum is not as watery as for the toner, but it is not very gel-like either. I feel that the rose scent is less noticeable than for the toner. The serum feels very moist and refreshing upon application and absorbs quickly, too. The skin feels more nourished than with the toner and kind of smooth, too. I’m at the last third of the bottle, but in terms of pore effects, I haven’t noticed any difference. I love the moisturizing and nourishing part though. Also, the serum works great with other products.

iUnik Rose Galactomyces

All in all, both products are really nice, and especially for the price and the moisturizing effects, I can only give it thumbs up. A pity, the serum didn’t show more effects on reducing the appearance of the pores, but then again, it does what I want from a rose and galactomyces product. Both products are moisturizing and softening the skin and they apply nicely with other products. You can buy iUnik products from unique4u.net.

iUnik Rose Galactomyces Essential Toner retails for 16.49 US$

iUnik Rose Galactomyces Synergy Serum retails for 14.99 US$

Review: 9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment

21. October 2017

// PR SAMPLE / SKINCARE / AFFILIATE LINKS //

Roses are the queens of all the flowers, and that’s for a good reason. Since the ancient times these flowers have been used for therapeutic benefits. The rose essential oils are rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants antibacterial and therefore widely used in cosmetics products. I’m one of those rose-loving people when it comes to skincare and I’m really happy that BBCOSMETIC introduced me to the 9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment:

9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment

9Wishes is a Korean beauty brand which was unknown to me before. If you look at their official site you will also see that have a small range of beauty products and that the page is relatively new, so I guess the brand is quite new as well. The products have a sleek and pretty design and make me curious to try more.

9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment

The 9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment comes in a pale pink cardboard box with English and Korean description written onto. It doesn’t look especially fancy, but very simple. But inside you will discover the beautiful bottle containing the product and on my first glance I fell in love it! Look at that gorgeous pump bottle with rose-gold cap. And the treatment has even a pale pink color contains bits of rose petals (I guess) in it!

9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment

The 9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment is supposed to maximize the skin’s natural night-time renewal process and uses their special oil encapsulation technology for it. Although it is targeting the night-time renewal of the skin it can be used in the mornings and evenings on your cleansed face before using your moisturizer.

9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment

The ingredients of the treatment are listed below:

Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Water, Methylpropanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Acrylates/C10-30 Akyl Acrylates Crosspolymer, Argnine, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate, Caprylyl Glycol, Beeswax, Allatoin, sh-Decapeptide-9, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Powder, Ethylhexylylglycerin, Butylene Glycol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Propanediol, Jadminum Officinale (Jasmine) Oil, Geranium Maculatum Oil, Centella Asiatica Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Artemisia Vulgaris Extract, Vaccinum Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extractm Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Rose Canina Fruit Oil, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit Extractm Morus Alba Fruit Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Nut Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Glycerin, Rose Flower Oil, Cl 77491, Aspalathus Linearis Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolysed Glycosaminoglycans, Hydrolysed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Hyaluronic Acid

9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment

You can see that there are various plant-based ingredients and especially a lot of rose extract and oils. The product is alcohol-free, sulphate-free and paraben-free. Apart from rose it contains a lot of Hyaluronic Acid for moisturizing, but also macadamia oil. Further more it contains Licorice Extract, which is one of my favourites. At the moment I’m trying a new tool for ingredients analytics and it is quite nice and I can recommend you to have a look at it: it is called Skincarisma and you can find the analysis of the 9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment >>here<<.

9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment

As you can see from the ingredients this treatment is especially suited for dry skintypes, but also contains some ingredients that promote wound healing. Since it contains jasmine oil and geranium oil people with sensitive skintypes should keep in mind whether they react to these ingredients or not. According to COSDNA and Skincarisma the ingredients are safe to use, only the jasmine oil has to be noted for sensitive people.

9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment

The 9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment is a gel type essence with a rose scent. Despite of the oils the application feels moist and watery and the product absorbs very quickly into the skin. The pink particles dissolve while rubbing the essence into the skin. Once absorbed there is no trace of oiliness or stickiness noticeable.

9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment

The glow and shimmer that you see on the picture below is only visible during the short moment while it absorbs. Afterwards there is no glow left on the skin, but it fully absorbs and leaves the skin matte, leaving only the rose scent behind. The skin feels hydrated on the area where you apply the essence.

9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment

You only need one or two pumps of the product to cover your face and in the time I’ve been using it I never had a bad reaction. Of course everyone is different, so be sure to check the ingredients before using and make a patch test on another part of your body if you know that your skin could react to it.

9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment

I’m completely happy with the 9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment and I feel sad that there is only one-third left in my bottle. I received this essence from BBCOSMETIC where it retails for 19 US$ and is on saleYou can use the code Q2C8JX9N45R3O for a chance of 10 % off your order, too! You can also get the 9Wishes Rose Hydrating Capsule Treatment on amazon.com for 35.20US$.

Did you hear about the brand 9Wishes? Have you tried any of their products? What do you think about roses as ingredients in cosmetics?

Review: Oolu Moisture Liquid Jasmine and Rose

6. November 2016
I still cannot believe that I’m part of the MeMeBox Brand Ambassador program and that they’ve already been so kind to send me so many exciting products I cannot wait to share with you. If you are on a “no-buy” month you should definitely skip reading this review because the following products from the brand Oolu by Dr. OhKims are beyond beautiful. This review is about the Oolu Moisture Liquid.
Oolu Moisture Liquid

Oolu is a sister brand of Whamisa. If you know Whamisa you might already have thought about the resemblance in their packaging design and style. Both products are belonging to Dr. Ohkims Cosmetics. That is why both brands are focussing on natural cosmetic products and especially fermented plant extracts. The description for this brand stated at MeMeBox says:

  Oolu Moisture Liquid
“When plastic surgeons from Korea, the world’s leading nation in plastic surgery, create an organic skincare line, everyone ought to take note. The doctors behind Oolu, by Ohkims Cosmetic, believe natural beauty is the best beauty, so they curated choice floral leaves that help strengthen skin’s self-regenerating powers. A 1,656-hour fermentation process from selection to blending and steeping maximizes the natural benefits of these organic ingredients. Then the premium products, from toning mists to mask packs, are hand-made to ensure the highest quality. As they say, true beauty takes patience.”
Oolu Moisture Liquid

I received a whole bunch of products from Oolu but I didn’t want to fit them all in one post, instead I divide the post into three parts starting with the Oolu Moisture Liquids. I was beyond happy to see that I received even two versions of the Oolu Moisture Liquid, the Jasmine version and the Rose version. These are also the two versions available on MeMeBox. On the official page of Ohkims cosmetics there is a third Moisture Liquid with Sunflower.

Oolu Moisture Liquid

Looking at the beautiful cardboard box packaging it is hard to imagine that the inside can even be more breathtaking, but it is! The bottles of the Oolu Moisture Liquid contain real flower petals and blossoms! It is so amazingly beautiful I cannot keep from looking at them. The description says, that to make one of those gorgeous bottles of Moisture Liquid it takes 1656 hours of preparation starting with collecting, drying, selecting and preserving process, blending, and so on. Although both Oolu Moisture Liquids are toners and are used after cleansing your face and before using other products like serums and cream both have distinct properties.

Oolu Moisture Liquid

Oolu Jasmine Moisture Liquid

The description of the Oolus Jasmine Moisture Liquid says: “Jasmine Bloom with botanical natural extracts help the skin toning, moisturizing and revitalizing. It increases the skin elasticity and clearness.” This yellow colored liquid comes in a hard plastic bottle with a metal lid. Inside the bottle you will spot beautiful tiny jasmine flowers. I made a video on Instagram showing how pretty the flowers look like. The ingredients of the Jasmine Moisture Liquid are listed on MeMeBox:

Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Flower/Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Caulerpa Lentillifera Extract, Artemisia Annua Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Helichrysum Italicum (Everlasting) Extract, Azadirachta Indica Leaf Extract, Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract, Rosa Rugosa Flower Extract, Magnolia Kobus Flower Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Jasmine Flower, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Alcohol

You can look up the ingredients at COSDNA, too. All ingredients except of Jasmine Oil are labelled green. Jasmine Oil can be irritant to some people because it is considered a very heavy oil, so please be sure to avoid the product if you react to it. Jasmine Flower and Leaf extract is the key ingredient of course and it acts not only as fragrance but also for moisturizing and anti-inflammatory ingredient. Apart from Jasmine, which is obviously a key ingredient according to the name, you will discover our old friends Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide in the list. Also another bunch of plant extracts are listed (eg. licorice) . Lastly, the toner uses alcohol for better absorption into the skin. If you have dry skin and are worried about alcohol here: there is no need to fear that the alcohol dries out your skin. The Jasmine oil and the bergamotte oil give the Oolu Moisture Liquid a light oil consistency, not heavy but still you will feel how nicely it glides on the skin and how it feels like more than just a bit of water and alcohol, although it actually only looks like water. I find it extremely moisturizing and skin conditioning. The jasmine scent is definitely recognizable and it feels like a spa event if you like the scent and apply it. A little goes a long way here. You can decide whether to apply the moisture liquid by hands or by cotton pad. I usually use my hands for applying. It has a slightly sticky feeling to it at first, which disappears after a bit.

Oolu Moisture Liquid

Oolu Moisture Liquid

Oolu Rose Moisture Liquid

The description of the Oolu Rose Moisture Liquid says: “Fresh Rose Petal with botanical extracts help the skin calming, deep moisturizing and increases the skin elasticity.” This pink colored liquid comes in a hard plastic bottle with a metal lid, like the Jasmine Moisture Liquid. Inside the bottle you will spot rose petals instead of jasmine blossoms. The ingredients of the Rose Moisture Liquid are listed on MeMeBox:

Rose Damascena Flower Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Taraxacum Officinale (Dandelion) Leaf Extract, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Iris Versicolor Extract, Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract, Caulerpa Lentillifera Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Rose Damascena Flower, Adenosine, Rose Damascena Flower Oil, Geranium Maculatum Oil, Brassica Oleracea Capitata (Cabbage) Leaf Extract, Alcohol

You can look up the ingredients at COSDNA, too. All ingredients are labelled green. Rose is surely the key ingredient here. Rose extract is antibacterial in first case, but also acts as fragrant. You will discover Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide in the list here, too. Also another bunch of plant extracts are listed. Lastly, the toner uses alcohol for better absorption into the skin. If you have dry skin and are worried about alcohol here: there is no need to fear that the alcohol dries out your skin. The rose oil and the wild geranium oil give the Oolu Moisture Liquid a light oil consistency, similar to the Jasmine Moisture Liquid. The scent is not an extreme rose heavy as some other products, but you will definitely recognize the rose scent. A little goes a long way here, too. You can decide whether to apply the moisture liquid by hands or by cotton pad. I usually use my hands for applying. It has a slightly sticky feeling to it at first, which disappears after a bit.

Oolu Moisture Liquid

If you are a sucker for special packaging design you will need to get the Oolu Moisture Liquid Jasmine and/or Rose. The flowers inside the bottles are super pretty. I also like the hard plastic bottles here. Furthermore, I’m quite a scent-loving person and these definitely have a scent to them. I really like both because I love rose and I love jasmine scent. Although the two toners claim to have slightly different properties I didn’t feel any difference between using these two. I really like them both. Oh, and did I say that Oolu products are free from animal testing?! Also, their pH is between 5-6. Each bottle of this precious Oolu Moisture Liquid contains 200 ml and retails for Oolus Jasmine Moisture Liquid . Also, since it is natural cosmetics it has to be used within 6 months after opening. What do you think about these two products?

Review: Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick

11. March 2015

// KBEAUTY / SKINCARE / AFFILIATE LINKS //

Now, this is really a long time in my draft! I bought the popular Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick before it was sold out the first time. Since it was sold out I decided to postpone the review until it is back in stock :D The product is now back in stock, but it took me months to finally finish this review :D. Most of you will have probably heard about this cleansing stick and I guess a lot have been intrigued to try it. So did I and here is my impression:

Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick

This is the first product I’m trying from the high end brand Sum 37. This Korean brand focusses on products with natural fermentation ingredients which are on top artificial scent free, artificial color free and compose preservatives free. The brand is part of LG Household and Healthcare. The name is derived from the Korean word for “breathe” and by using good ingredients the motto of Sum 37 is to make the ‘skin breath happily’. The design of the products is mature and luxurious looking, which fits with their pricetag. The Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick is a facial cleansing product containing fermented rose flower extracts. It not only helps you to clean your skin, but in the same time makes a good facial massaging product.

Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick

The Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick comes in a cardboard box. The paper feels already luxurious and sturdy, with a matte finish. The name of the product and the description is made with golden color. since these parts are reflective it was a bit hard to take a picture. The box I show you was sold during Christmas-time, which is why you have the snowflakes printed on the packaging. The description is written mostly in Korean, with some pictures displaying how to use the stick. It contains a short description in English on one of the sides.

Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick

The pretty cardboardbox reveals a pale pink stick of sturdy plastic. It has the logo printed on it in golden letters. On the backside of the stick you’ll find some Korean description again. The top of the stick is a simple cap and the bottom can be rotated in order to push the stick out, similar to a lipstick or lipbalm.

Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick

The bottom also has the expiration date printed on it. The stick itself has a size which fits good into the hand. The volume of the product is 80 g.

Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick

The cleansing stick is a cleanser in a solid form. It contains coconut oil as one of the main ingredients, which makes the product solid at room temperature. As soon as the stick gets into contact with warmer temperatures, like our skin, it melts. The second key ingredient for the Sum37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick is the fermented damask rose extract. You will even find rose petals inside the cleansing balm (similar to the Rosemine Floral Remedy Cleansing Foam, only that this one is a foam cleanser). Apart from these two key ingredients all the ingredients listed for this product are safe according to COSDNA. It contains also a couple of other plant oils and extracts, so if you have any reactions with specific plant extract you might want to check out the ingredients list first.

Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick

When using the Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick you first have to wet you face, then you push up the stick by turning the bottom. You do not need to push it out fully, 1 cm is enough, I even need less. Then you massage the stick over your skin. Afterwards you can soak and lather the product on your skin. It won’t create a lot of foam like most of the foam cleansers do, but it will clean away most of your makeup. In the picture below you see that it cleans off all the makeup and simply a light trace of the orange pencil liner remains. Since most people use some kind of makeup remover for eyes and lips before cleansing, it is of less importance. But even if you do not use any makeup remover before, you’ll be able to take of most of your makeup efficiently with this cleansing stick.  The scent of the product is nice and of course you can smell the roses! The pH of the product lies between 5-6, so it is a weak acid and your natural skin barrier is protected while cleansing.

Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick

What do I like about the Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick? First of all, it is super travel friendly, since it is a cleanser in a solid form. Then, I love roses and rose scent, but I know that some people don’t like the scent or have sensitive skin that has problems with rose extracts. Another plus is the ingredient list and the point that it contains fermented ingredients and has the perfect pH for the skin. You really have this spa experience while using this cleanser, first giving yourself a facial massage and then cleaning it thoroughly. It does not only have the label of a high end brand but it also feels like one. The pricetag for the Sum 37 Miraacle Rose Cleansing Stick is high and that is the major disadvantage. This is also the reason I can not make myself to use it everyday, but rather use it occasionally. Another small downside is, that some product melts to the sides of the stick, so if you would simply put on the cap after using you would have a lot of cleansing balm messed around in the cap. I take the excess melted balm with my finger and use it on my face, or reduce the amount of product I push up from the beginning. Would I recommend you to buy it? Yes, even for the pricetag it is worth at least to try it once. I don’t know if I will be able to repurchase it ever again, but I love my cleansing/spa experience with the Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick and I would love to try other products from this brand. This one retails for 36.50 US$ at W2Beauty.

Review: Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser

3. March 2015

I reviewed the Rosemine Plumpy Tint a while ago and here is my review for the Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser, which was part of the MeMeBox Rose Scentbox, too. This is one of my favourite foam cleansers so far and I’ve almost used it up.

Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser

The brand Rosemine is made by the Korean cosmetic manufacturing company called “EVAS”. The name is not chosen randomly, I think, because they stress the point, that their brand is wants to “give people clean & safe lifestyle (by Christian principle)”. I’m feeling a bit discomfortable if a cosmetic brand or company also makes religious remarks, since skincare and cosmetics should be reaching beyond religious aspects…Apart from my critisism towards the brand’s philosophy I want to point out that I really do like this cleanser. Ilove the floral packaging design, and also the Rosemine Plumpy Tint did convince me design-wise. The cardboard box the foam cleanser comes in is printed with a floral pattern and looks very pretty.

Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser

Unfortunately, the cardboard box only contains Korean description, but from the images of the products webpage I could conclude that this cleanser contains a bunch of different flower extracts, especially rose extracts. It also smells of roses, which is really nice if you love rose scented products. Moreover, you’ll find rose petals within the foam, which reminded me of the Sum37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick (I still am planning to do a review for it…>_<). The cleanser also contains coconut, which is a beneficial ingredient aswell. The foaming cleanser comes in a tube which has a matching design to the cardboard box. It looks really girlish with the flowers and the pink and white stripes and the baby blue cap.

Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser

The backside of the tube has some short Korean description printed on, too.

Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser

How does the Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser perform? First of all, the product comes out as a beige, shiny and yet creamy product. It contains rose petals (unfortunately, in my shot there is none XD), and creates a dense and full foam. If you love foam cleansers you will like the foaming ability of this cleanser. You only need a small amount to create enough foam for the whole face, especially when using a facial brush/electric facial brush or a foaming net, like I do use in the picture below. I use a chickpea sized amount of the product usually. The cleanser has a pH of 7, which might be not acid enough for some people.

Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser

I usually use this cleanser as a second step after I use the Klairs Cleansing Oil, but even on its own this cleanser performs great and removes almost all makeup products. In my test below you can see that it cleansed away everything and just some very light stains from the lip products remained.

Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser

I have mostly dry skin and some foaming cleansers might additionally feel drying on my skin, but I didn’t have the feeling here. The skin doesn’t feel squeeky, but simply clean and refreshed afterwards. I would even call this an alternative for the Sum37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick, if you love it because of the rose ingredient. It retails for 18900 Won (~19 US$) on the product site. If you would like to try it I would recommend you to ask at testerkorea at their “want” section.

Review: Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-up Remover

30. January 2015

// KBEAUTY / SKINCARE //

After I fell in love with the Skinfood Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher I had no choice, but trying out other products from the Skinfood Milky Rose collection. I bought the Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-up Remover from the same line and I’ve been using it for quite some time. This is also one of the items which were mentioned in the previous guestpost by Chie here. Here is my impression of this make-up remover:

Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-up Remover

Skinfood is one of these brands which are competing with Etude House in terms of design– in my opinion at least. It is a Korean brand with vintage appearing design of their products which occupied my heart very quickly. The products are using the beneficial effects of ingredients, which are familiar to us in terms of “food” like vegetables and fruits. Their motto “Food that is good for your health, is also good for your skin.” reflects this brands’ ideology nicely. Their spring make-up collection of 2014 was called “Milky Rose”and the design of the products offered within this collection is beautifully selected, showing vintage-style rose drawings and pastell pink packaging. The design is really beautifully chosen and fits perfect for a spring collection. Apart from the Skinfood Rose Shake Poinr Make-up Remover liptints, nailpolish, blusher and a make-up fixer were offered.

Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-up Remover

As you can see, the make-up remover from this line is no exception and has a beautifully designed packaging with rose printing. The Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-up Remover comes in a hard plastic bottle which has a transparent pink color. You can see the two phased removing liwuid through the bottle and it appears in a soft pink color. The Skinfood logo, the little angel, is engraved into the plastic bottle.

Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-up Remover

The backside of the bottle shows the description of the product in Korean and English. It also has the production and expiration date printed there. The bottle contains 160 ml make-up remover. The main ingredient of this product is Rosa Centifolia Flower Water. The scent of the  Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-up Remover is therefore a nice rose scent as I expected and it is one of the reasons I love this product. Apart from the scent Rosa Centifolia Flower Water is a great ingredient with lots of benefits. The obtained water from these flowers contains the etheral oils and lots of beneficial substances. Also, the pH of rose water is lower than pH7. I meassured the pH of the  Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-up Remover and it lies between 5-6. Also, the rose water has soothing and astringent properties, which makes it a good product for sensitive skin.

Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-up Remover

The remover is a two phased liquid. The instruction says to shake it before using it. Once you shake it, the phases combine to a milky fluid.

Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-up Remover

Since the cap has a small hole for dispensing you can use it easily on a cotton pad. I would have preferred if it came with a pump bottle, because that’s even more convenient, but since you have to shake it before using it it is only a minor comment.

Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-up Remover

I used a selection of various make-up products on my arm and wiped it away with a soaked cotton pad and as you can see it removes all the products easily. The product on the right is mascara, and when I removed the mascara it was not fully dried yet. This leads me to my only complaint about the Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-up Remover, since it does have problems to remove dried fibertype mascaras with one cotton pad only. I didn’t have any problems removing eyeliner, eyeshadow, lipsticks, but it needs some extra wipes for mascara.

Skinfood Rose Shake Point Make-up Remover

Although this product shows some weakness in removing some stubborn mascaras I still love and recommend this to 1. rose scent lovers and 2. people with sensitive skin. This remover makes the skin feel soft after using it and it didn’t feel any irritating, neither did I feel that my skin is feeling dried. It is available at testerkorea for 6900 Won (around 7 US$) which is affordable, too. I really like and use this almost every day before cleansing my face :)

Review: Skinfood Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher

14. October 2014

I was planning to write this post later, but I’m so in love with this blush that I have to share my thoughts about it with you: I’m talking about the Skinfood Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher! This blush is from Skinfood’s spring collection from this year and considering the point that new products appear out of nowhere every month this might already be considered old and not up-to-date, but nevertheless this is my new everyday blush since I received this from KollectionK one week ago ♥

Skinfood Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher

Skinfood is one of these brands which are competing with Etude House in terms of design – in my opinion at least. It is a Korean brand with vintage appearing design of their products which occupied my heart very quickly. The Rose Essence Soft cream Blusher is available in 6 different shades. I picked No.6 called “Edge Rose”. According to the promotional pictures it is probably the boldest color of the 6 shades. Let’s look at our beauty again from the top and the back:

Skinfood Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher

The back side contains a short description and the number of the shade. It also has the production date printed on it. If you open up the lid you’ll find that the complete backside of the lid contains a large mirror, which is very convenient. The material of the container is made of sturdy plastic and although the color of the plastic is a light pink it doesn’t appear like cheap quality. The lid closes properly, too, and will not easily flip open, so it is safe to carry in the handbag. The first thing you’ll notice when opening the container is the scent: it is AMAZING! It smells of roses and you know that I’m a lover for rose scent. If you hate scents, you’ll not like the product, if you love the scent of roses get yourself one of these quickly! I’m so in love with the scent that I sometimes only open up the container of the blush to smell the scent XD …okay, that’s a bit weird, but anyways….

Skinfood Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher

The blush itself is a cream blush, so it has a soft and creamy texture which is easily to apply with only using the fingers (this might be considered as  not hygienic for some of you and is the only negative aspect of this blush that I could find after all). I don’t have any problem applying it with my fingers. By the way, for those of you that are afraid of putting bacteria on your face when using your fingers I found a super interesting product on Wishtrend called “OMG Spray it” from Chica y Chico which allows you to sanitize your products frequently (if you consider to buy it you have to check out the Promotional Wishtrend codes for October, because you can receive a free Klairs Be Clean Soap!!). Back to the Skinfood Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher: the pigmentation is great, it is buildable but also blendable super easily, too, so you can choose by yourself if you want pigmented cheeks or only a light color. Also, the creamy texture turns into a matte one when blended in. It looks very natural and lasts all day. So, as you see this is a super quality blush and I’m really thinking to get all the different shades, because it is so georgeous. You can get this at KollectionK for 11.08 US$.

Unboxing: MeMeBox Scentbox Bundle

2. July 2014

Two days ago a huge box arrives at my doorstep and I was completely surprised what this heavy box might be, when I discovered that it was a set of the three scentboxes by MeMeBox. There were three MeMeBox Scentboxes available, each dedicated to a specific scent topic, and if you bought two of them, you received a third one for free. Again a superb deal by MeMeBox I couldn’t resist :D

MeMeBox Scentbox Bundle

MeMeBox is a box service company, offering a wide amount of different beauty boxes. Unlike most western beauty boxes which have to be subscribed for on a monthly basis, MeMeBoxes can be preordered but that doesn’t force you to buy more than the desired box. They ship to many countries and the products they send in their boxes are mainly Korean. Apart from their monthly Global Boxes like the ones I reviewed previously (check out the links at the end of the post), they also have a huge amount of themed boxes, Mini Boxes, Boxes where you know what is inside, so called Superboxes with a higher value and so on…just check out their online store and you’ll find a huge selection of different boxes. Since they have become very popular within the blogger community they sell out pretty fast, but they bring up new beauty boxes so fast, that you cannot keep up with them anyways.

The three scentboxes were themed Rose, Babypowder and Grapefruit Scentbox. At first I only wanted to buy the rose scent box, because I really love rose scented products, but then I was kind of undecided, because the babypowder scent box was appealing, too…and in the deal they offered I would get the grapefruitbox on top. So I finally ended up buying the whole set for 30 US$ (each of the boxes cost 15 US$).

Let’s start with the MeMeBox Rose Scentbox:

MeMeBox Scentbox Bundle

MeMeBox Scentbox Bundle

Evas Rosemine Plumpy Tint 01 Roseberry (13 g for US$11- box contained fullsize product)

A jelly-type lip tint in cherry red. The scent is very faint, but the packaging: OMG! Both Rose Mine products have such a girly beautifull packaging, I’m in love! the tint itself can be used on cheeks and lips, but it has to be blended in quickly, because it dries fast. It also leaves a good stain on your finger if you use them from blending or applying XD

Evas Rosemine Floral Remedy Foamy Cleanser  (120 ml for US$22- box contained fullsize product)

Again, I love the packaging! ♥ And this is a nice partner for my Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick (I will do a review soon). This is a foamy cleanser which contains also rose petals. The scent is not overpowering but nice.

Happy Bath Rose Essence Body Wash (200 g for US$11- box contained fullsize product)

I didn’t use it yet, but it smells divine for lovers of rose scented products *_*

Hope Girl Magic Skin Primer  (35 g for US$33- box contained 2 ml*5ea samples)

Such a pity that there was no full size of this! I love it! It smells super nice (the scent is stronger than of the rose mine products) and it is a nice primer, giving a satin smooth skin.

Second is the MeMeBox Babypowder Scentbox:

Eva’s Mimi Lauryn’s Perfume Soap French Blossom (100 g for US$18- box contained fullsize product)

I’m a solid soap hoarder. I’ve so many of them and I’m too slow in using them. I should start to change something about it XD The scent is really nice of this soap, but I didn’t unpack it yet. The packaging is also too beautiful to throw away ;_;

Urban Lailly 7 Seconds Make-Up Booster (50 g for US$40- box contained fullsize product)

I was excited about this item. It is a light blue colored priming cream, providing moisture and a more even skintone. I applied it on my hand and the feeling reminds me of Secret Key’s Snow White Cream.

Happy Fam Deo Fresh Baby Powder (20ea for US$2- box contained fullsize product)

These are Deodorant wipes for your armpits. Great for putting in a handbag or at work or travellling. A nice idea :) Didn’t try it yet.

Consensis fabric deodorizer (330 ml for US$7 – box contained deluxe sample)

A fabric deodorizing spay. I don’t have anything like that, so I’m happy about it :)

And last but not least the MeMebox Grapefruit Scentbox:

Eva’s Mimi Lauryn’s Dress Perfume Mist de Grapefruit (150 ml for US$18 – box contained fullsize product)

Another fabric, room and car spray with a fresh fruity scent. I like the etiquette of the spray bottle with its floral design.

Kaell28 Sunkilling Grapefruit Gel (270 ml for US$30- box contained fullsize product)

A multipurpose soothing gel. I love multipurpose gels and this one will replace my Etude House Aloe Soothing Gel as soon as it is empty. A pitty that it does not come with a pump though. Didn’t try it yet.

Happy Fam Deo Fresh Grapefruit (20ea for US$2- box contained fullsize product)

These are Deodorant wipes for your armpits. Great for putting in a handbag or at work or traveling. A nice idea :) Didn’t try it yet.

Sun Smile Hydro Gel Choosy Fruit Lip Mask (3 ml x 2ea for US$2- box contained fullsize product)

Finally, I can try a lip mask! :D I’m happy about this product and super curious to try it :)

MeMeBox Scentbox Bundle

All in all, I’m very happy with the boxes. The products are nice and they didn’t send a hand cream at all, which was my first thought when I was thinking of scented products. I have one or two favorite products in each box, but the one I love most is the Rose Scentbox ♥ Which one do you like most?
