Review: Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

5. December 2014

A while ago Etude House released an adorable nail polish line called Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails. There was a “Sweet Idea” competition called out by Etude House and the fans could participate and send in their suggestions. One of them was selected and realized. I really think this is a great idea to involve the fans of Etude House by such competitions, and I have to say that this line truly is a cute gift idea– or maybe also a treat for yourself….:)

Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

First of all, some words about Etude House: Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adoreable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging…Also here, the packaging design looks lovely. The Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails set consists of two nail polish bottles, each designed like one half of a rabbits face. Together they form the complete rabbit. There are 5 different sets available, each rabbit face has another facial expression though:

No. 01 Dalmatian Bunny : Black Bunny Glitter + White French
No. 02 Analog Bunny : White Bunny Glitter + Black French
No. 03 Pink Milky way Bunny : Lavender Pink + Silver Spangle French
No. 04 Red Carrot Bunny : Cherry Red + Shimmering Gold French
No. 05 Mint Gold Moon Bunny : Retro Mint + Jewel Gold Pearl Powder

I selected No. 04, because I think the red and gold combination is best suited for the upcoming festative season :)

Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

As you can see, the packaging design is really pretty and everybody loving these cute packaging designs will fall in love with it. Each of the two nail polish bottles contains 4 ml of product. The backside of the cardboard box contains description in Korean and in English, but you can also find these information on the official global webpage of Etude House. You will also find the ingredients there :)

Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

Even removed from the cardboard box the bottles look adorable ♥

Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

The two nail polish bottles come with two different brushes: The red polish has a normal polish brush. The golden polish has a thin brush and you can draw easily dots or lines with it. I really like this idea. I used the nail polish in the picture below and I applied one layer of the red nail polish. As you can see the color is opaque. It also dries in a good time (it is not super quickly drying, but it doesn’t take long time either).

Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

I think the Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails are a cute gift idea. I don’t have any complaints about these and they do a good job as nail polish. The thin brush for one of the polishes makes it easy to do some nail art, if you like, too. I received mine from  KollectionK for 7.10 US$, but it is sold out there at the moment. You can also get this from testerkorea for 4500 Won (around 4,50 US$). What do you think of the Sweet Idea competition?

Review: Innisfree Eco Peel Off Base Coat Pro

4. August 2014

// KBEAUTY / NAILS / AFFILIATE LINKS //

I have a whole bunch of nail polishes containing glitter particles, but I rarely use them only for one reason: it is a pain to remove them afterwards. I bet, some of you know this particular situation. Finally, I decided to make my life easier by buying a peel off base coat and I decided for Innisfree’s Eco Peel Off Base Coat Pro in particular.

Innisfree Eco Peel Off Base Coat Pro

Innisfree is an eco-friendly Korean skincare and makeup brand focusing on natural ingredients and recycle packaging. The design of their products is simply and neat and nicely reflects the ideology of the brand. Normally, Innisfree products are free from harmful ingredients, but unfortunatelly I couln’t find any information on this specific product.

Innisfree Eco Peel Off Base Coat Pro

The nail polish bottle has a simply design. It has a clear body and a white cap and looks very sturdy. The color of the coat shines through the bottle. The peel off coat has a milky color, but when dried it looks clear on the nails. The brush is short and easy to handle and it takes an appropriate amount of the peel off coat. The product is basically scent free, too.

Innisfree Eco Peel Off Base Coat Pro

The consistency of the peel off coat is something between glue-like and normal nail polish. When applied it has to dry off completely before you apply the next nail polish. It should help to make your second layer dry quicker and ít claims to enhance the color of the nail polish. I used it in the pictures below together with Etude House Play Color No. 55 nail polish.

Innisfree Eco Peel Off Base Coat Pro

This was the first try I used the base coat. If you have some experience you know how to find the corner for peeling off larger chunks. My other hand turned out much better as you see below :D Some residues may be left, but they can be removed very easily, too.

Innisfree Eco Peel Off Base Coat Pro

I definitively should have bought such a peel off coat earlier. I’m super happy how easy this Innisfree Eco Peel Off Base Coat makes my life now :D If you love glitter nail polishes but hate removing them, I can definitively recommend you to buy one of these. I bought mine from Keautystore, for 8 US$, but I had reward points to use, so I paid nothing :D You can get this from W2Bauty for 2.50 US$. If you use my affiliate link or enter the code 088505 in the registration form you’ll receive a 5 US$ voucher, which can be used immediately for purchases over 30 US$.

Review: Etude House Play Color Nails

26. April 2014

// KBEAUTY / NAILS / AFFILIATe LINKS //

It’s been a while since Etude House released their Play Nail Polishes. They introduced so many different colors and styles, that is was quite difficult to decide which ones to pick. I chose two nail polishes at that time, them I received two other ones in a giveaway, so I decided to make a collective post for all four nail polishes at once.

The shades I’ll show you today are No. 55, 118, 132 and 52 from left to right. Each of them represent a different type/style of nail polish.
On the label of the cap you’ll find the numbers and a letter code. The letter code represents the type of nail polish, meaning M for matte, P for paint, SG for Syrup and Glitter and PS for Paint and Syrup. (That’s at least what I could conclude. Feel free to comment if it is not correct :D).
The design of the tiny bottles is cute and they have a perfect shape to be stored and collected. They beautified the bottles with a lace art ribbon on the upper rim. I personally loved the old shape of the nail polish bottles from Etude House more :D They were more princess-y *_*…
All in all the quality is quite descent for the price. But you need two layers of polish to receive a nice coverage. Another downside is, that they need quite a time to dry, especially if you use two coats of polish. Other than these points, these nail polishes are really nice. Etude House offers us a huge variance of different colors and styles and probably you’ll find every thing you’ll need. Unfortunately, the matte nail polishes were limited, but I hope that they will return for autumn :D…
No. 55
No. 118
No. 131
No. 52
Which one is your favourite? Did you try any of Etude House’s Play nail polishes?

You can get these nail polishes almost in every online store which is selling Etude House products, for example:

Twofacemall for US$ 5.13 ( free shipping option) – They are currently on sale, normally they cost 18.28 US$

W2Beauty from US$ 4.64 onwards (free shipping option. You’ll get a 5$ voucher upon registration with this link, which is usable for orders of minimum 30$)

Testerkorea from 2000 Won onwards (around 2 US$) (shipping depends on weight)

Also check out ebay!

Review: Astor Soft Sensation Lipcolor Butter Crayon and Perfect Stay Nail Polish

24. January 2014
I was looking for this kind of rose pink color for some time now and finally I found it: Astor’s Soft Sensation Lipcolor Butter Crayon in “Flirt Natural” and Perfect Stay Nail Polish in “Retro Beige”. And these two products are a perfect color match, too. I’m so happy I’ve found them finally and these are the products I use almost daily at the moment. Keep on reading, if you want to know more ♥

Astor has a new range of lip crayons at the moment called Soft Sensation Lipcolor Butter Ultra Vibrant, providing 4 new shades. Although normally I would buy a classic red shade, this time I grabbed the more natural color called “Flirt Natural”, a rosy and vintage-kind pink color. I’m a huge fan of lip crayons in general, because they are so easy to use and they are normally a mixture of lipbalm and lipstick. This one is no exception. It gives the right amount of color and is moisturizing, too.

The packaging is nothing special and typical for a lip crayon. It has a twisting mechanism to wind up the lip crayon. The package says, that this product should give your lips color, treat your lips like lip balm and give them a nice shine on the same time. Seems to be a great deal :)

So, here we come to the exiting part: how does it look swatched and how does it look on the lips. You can see the result below:

Although my lips are naturally pigmented, you can see the color on my lips. It doesn’t feel drying or look awkward at all. The color is buildable, too. If you only use one stroke it is just barely coloring. On my hand you see like two strokes.
The next product is the nail polish in “Retro Beige”. The bottle contains 12 ml and doesn’t have any special design at all.

The brush has a good length and the nail polish itself has a good consistency, too. It is neither too liquid, nor too thick.

Below you can see the nail polish with one layer on my nails. the color gets more intense with two layers and looks exactly like the color you see in the bottle.

Comparing the two colors of the products above on a piece of paper you can see the perfect match they’ve created.
I’m completelly happy with both products and I’m thinking of buying more colors from this line. The prices for the lip crayon is 6.99 €. The nail polish costs 5.99 €.

Review: Etude House Minnie In The Nails nailpolish and glitter

21. November 2013
Apart from the Minnie Kissing Lips from Etude House I reviewed earlier (click), I bought a fitting nail polish of the XOXO Minnie collection in red and Minnie nail glitters in black and white.

The nail polish comes in a bottle with a white cap with mickey mouse#s head silhouette. The color is the same red as the Minnie Kissing Lips lipstick in Minnie Red has. So it fits perfectly to be worn together. The brush is on the broader side. The nail polish itself is on the more liquid side, so you have to be careful. If you get to much of it on the brush and thus on your nails it moves on your nail and creates not desirable gradient effects. With two layers you’ll achieve a nice and opaque color. One layer alone dries rather quickly, too. The bottle contains 8 g.
This is how it looks on my nails with two layers.
I bought the nail glitter, too. The handling is a bit tricky if you don’t have experience (like me XD). I tried to put them on the nail polish before it was dried. The glitter boxes contain dot-shaped glitter, Minnie Mouse’s head as silhouette and tiny bow shaped glitter.
As you can see, the glitter particles make the surface of your nails uneven. ‘d recommend you to use a top coat. I didn’t use any, and by the end of the day I lost all the glitter due to running my fingers through my hair, unzipping and zipping clothes, getting dresses etc. pp. I don’t know if the top coat prevents it, but at least it should help a bit. did anybody try these glitters already and knows how to seal them in a better way? Feel free to write a comment :D
I bought these products at www.testerkorea.com for 3000 Won/ ~US$3 for the nail polish and 2500 Won/ ~US$2.50 for the nail glitter (shipping depends on weight). The nail polish is out of stock, but the glitters are still available. You can get Etude House Minnie Collection also at:
BeautyNetKorea (free shipping option)
W2Beauty (free shipping option, you’ll get a 5$ voucher upon registration with this link, which is usable for orders of minimum 30$)
KollectionK (shipping depends on destination)
Also you can have a look on ebay. The prices vary from shop to shop.

Review: Etude House Look At My Nails Maple Syrup

14. October 2013
Here is another nail polish from Etude House, but this time it is not a matte nail polish like in my last review about Etude House’s Petit Darling Nails Matte Nail Polish (review here). This time it is a jelly type nail polish called Etude House Look At My Nails Maple Syrup from Etude House spring collection this year. There are five shades available, all shades are in the pink and beige color range.

The shade Maple Syrup is a dusky pink shade which comes in a glass bottle decorated with some swirls and ornaments. You can find the words “look at” written on the bottle as well. I like the design of the bottle. It is not something special, but girly in its own way.

The nail polish brush is not very broad and not really long. Nevertheless, I had no problems in applying the nail polish. The polish itself is rather on the runny side, so you have to be a bit carefull about the amount of nail polish on the brush.
An opaque color can be achieved on the nails with two coats. Three would even be better, but I’m not patient enough for waiting so long for each layer to dry, especially, because these jelly type nail polishes need longer anyway. Below you can see an image of my nails with two coats. This nail polish really has a nice glossy effect (click to enlarge). The color looks like the color inside the bottle.

All in all I love this nail polish. I was on the hunt for a pink shade like this. Also, I like the jelly/glossy effect. I should have ordered more shades of this last time (I ordered this one at Keautystore, but they don’t have it anymore). You can get this from www.testerkorea.com for example, for around 1500 Won, which is around US$ 1.50. Shipping depends on the weight. There is also a new range available, but I don’t know if they are of the same consistency. They are called “Look At My Natural Nails” and I saw these on W2Beauty.

Review: Etude House Petit Darling Nails Matte No.1 Ceylon Tea Beige

26. June 2013
Hey ♥
Did you all save your favourite blogs from Google reader to another one? Don’t forget to do it until end of the month :) You can follow me on bloglovin’facebook or since recently on instagram :D Yeii!
Here is the last review for the products from my W2Beauty haul from last month: it’s Etude House’s Petit Darling Nails Matte Nail Polish. (I will review the samples from this haul, too, but I don’t know when…:D). You can have a look at the haul here and the reviews for Etude House Kissful Tint Choux in Tangerine and Skinfood’ s Vita Water Drop CC Cream are here and here :)
The Etude House Petit Darling Nails Matte are available in 11 different colors. I ordered No1 called Ceylon Tea Beige. at W2Beauty you can order 6 of the 11 colors.
As the name of these polishes says, they’re supposed to have a matte appearance after applied on the nails. I was really curious about the outcome, because I always wanted to have a matte nail polish. Ceylon Tea Beige is a beige/flesh colored shade. The brush is small and thin, but the application of the nail polish works great with it.
One thick coat of the nail polish results in a good color and nice matte effect, but partly the white of your nails still is visible. With two thinner coats you get a more opaque result. Nevertheless, I  discovered that if you put the second layer after some hours onto the first, it may be, that you loose the matte effect. You’ll loose it anyways after a day which is a little bit sad ;_; Of course it doesn’t mean, that they look suddenly as shiny as normal nail polish, but they simply shine more…perhaps the use of hand cream and touching fatty things is also contributing to that effect, which is logical somehow…
Nevertheless, I like this nail polish, the color is very natural/ nude and it dries fast, too. I’d which they would offer the other colors at W2Beauty because I’d like to try some of the other brownish shades :)
Each bottle costs US$ 3.63 at W2beauty. If you use my link or the sponsor code 088505 for registration at W2Beauty you’ll get a 5.00 $ voucher after registration. The other products I mentioned above are available there, too. You can use the voucher immediately for purchases from $ 30 onwards.

NOTD: KIKO Mirror Nail Lacquer Golden Rose

13. April 2013
Honestly, I never went inside a KIKO store, although I have one near my place. But recently I heard about a mirror nail polish they have and I decided to have a look at their store, finally :D
I bought a bottle of KIKO’s Mirror Nail Lacquer in color No. 630 called “Golden Rose”.

Here is the description from http://www.kikocosmetics.co.uk:
Description:
Mirror Nail Lacquer, limited edition mirror effect nail polish with an ultra-radiant, metallic finish.
The special mirror formula is enriched with aluminum micro-pearls with a strong reflective power, creating a glossy metallic effect on the surface of the nail.
After application, the texture dries, leaving a chrome, ultra-radiant finish. Thanks to the metallic pigments, the nails are dressed in vibrant, chrome shades.
The flat shape of the brush ensures a perfect, smudge-free application. The length, flexibility and density of the bristles allow the ideal amount of polish to be released and applied evenly to the nail, reducing the risk of streaks.
Formulated without adding aggressive ingredients such as Toluene, Camphor, DBP or Formaldehyde.
Available in 15 metallic colours.
Hypoallergenic = formulated to ensure minimum instance of allergic reactions.
Results:
Chrome and glossy with a mirror effect. Thanks to the innovative Mirror Nail Lacquer formula, the nail is perfectly dressed in ultra-radiant, metallic colours.
Advice:
Before application, prepare the nail using the Nail File Glossing Buffer: use side 1 to smooth the surface of the nail and eliminate any irregularities, and side 2 to polish it.
Apply a base layer of nail polish to the nails, allow to dry and proceed with the first application of Mirror Nail Lacquer.
Once dry, apply the second layer of nail polish.
The perfect mirror effect can only be seen when the nail polish is completely dry.

I used a base coat and applied one layer of the nail polish. The consistency is a bit vicious, but it really opaque using only one stroke (although they recommend two stokes in the product description I think one is enough). due to the consistency it is not easy to achieve an eaven layer, at least I had some problems. It looks laso best on nails with a very smooth surface. I have some creases on a few nails from working and the nail polish doen’t look to nice on these parts. If you have healthy and smooth nails you won’t have a problem with it. The color is really nice and looks just like the color in the bottle. If you like the colors and you can get your hands on them, they are worth trying and a nice alternation to the glitter and sandstyle nail polishes ;)
A bottle contains 11 ml and costs 4,90 €.
