Review: Benton Honest Cleansing Foam

23. March 2015

As you might remember, my relationship to Benton products is not the best. I tried they Benton Snail Bee Steam Cream and the Snail Bee High Content Skin, but my skin didn’t seem to like either of the two products. There are many different opinions towards Benton skincare products and there are people in love with it and other people don’t like it. Nevertheless, when I heard about the new Benton Honest Cleansing Foam I was curious about it, and somehow I was lucky enough to receive the reviewing opportunity for this product by Jolse.

Benton Honest Cleansing Foam

The Korean skincare brand Benton did unleash a noticable raving amongst lots of bloggers. Especially the high quality of the ingredients, without any additional fragnances or other fillers did impress most people. Also, the key ingredient in their famous Benton Snail Bee skincare line being snail secretion filtrate in first place and adding bee venom on top made it widely appalling for skincare junkies. Apart from all the raving people there were also incidents of people breaking out from the Benton Snail Bee line, and I had also a similar experience. As soon as I stopped using it my skin recovered. Nevertheless, I’m giving the Benton skincare a new chance by trying their newest addition to their skincare line, the Honest Cleansing Foam. This cleanser promises not only to cleanse your skin, but also deliver the necessary moisture to the skin. This is a high promise, since most foaming cleansers tend to be drying.

Benton Honest Cleansing Foam

The cardboard box of Benton’s Honest Cleansing Foam consists mainly of description either in Korean or English. It describes how to use the product and the full ingredient list. You can check the ingredients on COSDNA, too, and they are safe to use. The ingredients are mainly plant extract and oils. Inside the cardboard box you will find a tube containing the foam cleanser. Similar to the cardboard box the packaging of the tube is very simple. The white plastic tube comes with a simple black cap. The tube was sealed when it arrived, so you can be sure that it was unopened before.

Benton Honest Cleansing Foam

The backside of the tube shows some Korean and English descriptions again. The Benton Honest Cleansing Foam has a shelf life of 6 months after opening and contains 150 g volume. The tube (and the cardboardbox) also show the web address of the official Benton page.

Benton Honest Cleansing Foam

The foam cleanser itself has a white creamy texture with a glossy appearance. If foams up nicely with a foaming net, but the foam is not as dense as for the Rosemine Floral Remedy Cleanser. The pH is unfortunately between 7-8, so people using more acid cleansers will have to skin this one. It has a light soapy scent, which gives the feeling of being clean and fresh.

Benton Honest Cleansing Foam

The Benton Honest Cleansing Foam has an average perfomance when it comes to makeup. As you can see below it has problems with waterproof makeup. It will serve nicely if you are using a two step cleansing routine with an oil cleanser at first. I would not rely on the Benton Honest Cleansing Foam for washing off makeup. Apart from this, it leaves the skin in a nice condition, and here is my most surprising verdict from this cleanser: I thought the Rosemine Floral Remedy Cleanser was gentle to my skin, but this feels amazing afterwards! It feels like having cleansed with an oil cleanser. It is not stripping at all (even though the pH is higher). Speaking for dry skinned people, this foam cleanser was really the first one (despite the Sum 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick– if you would count it as foam cleanser) that did moisturize my skin after washing it!

Benton Honest Cleansing Foam

Do I recommend the Benton Honest Cleansing Foam? So, if you are looking for low pH cleansers this one is not for you. If you are looking for a one step cleansing product I wouldn’t recommend this cleanser either. But if you are using a two step cleansing routine and you don’t want to remove special makeup from your skin and your previous foam cleanser have been too drying I can recommend this one to you. I tried it or almost three weeks now and I didn’t have any negative reactions towards this product either, which really makes me happy considering my previous experience with Benton products. You can get this foam cleanser from Jolse and it is discounted to 11.88 US$ at the moment.

Review: Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser

3. March 2015

I reviewed the Rosemine Plumpy Tint a while ago and here is my review for the Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser, which was part of the MeMeBox Rose Scentbox, too. This is one of my favourite foam cleansers so far and I’ve almost used it up.

Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser

The brand Rosemine is made by the Korean cosmetic manufacturing company called “EVAS”. The name is not chosen randomly, I think, because they stress the point, that their brand is wants to “give people clean & safe lifestyle (by Christian principle)”. I’m feeling a bit discomfortable if a cosmetic brand or company also makes religious remarks, since skincare and cosmetics should be reaching beyond religious aspects…Apart from my critisism towards the brand’s philosophy I want to point out that I really do like this cleanser. Ilove the floral packaging design, and also the Rosemine Plumpy Tint did convince me design-wise. The cardboard box the foam cleanser comes in is printed with a floral pattern and looks very pretty.

Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser

Unfortunately, the cardboard box only contains Korean description, but from the images of the products webpage I could conclude that this cleanser contains a bunch of different flower extracts, especially rose extracts. It also smells of roses, which is really nice if you love rose scented products. Moreover, you’ll find rose petals within the foam, which reminded me of the Sum37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick (I still am planning to do a review for it…>_<). The cleanser also contains coconut, which is a beneficial ingredient aswell. The foaming cleanser comes in a tube which has a matching design to the cardboard box. It looks really girlish with the flowers and the pink and white stripes and the baby blue cap.

Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser

The backside of the tube has some short Korean description printed on, too.

Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser

How does the Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser perform? First of all, the product comes out as a beige, shiny and yet creamy product. It contains rose petals (unfortunately, in my shot there is none XD), and creates a dense and full foam. If you love foam cleansers you will like the foaming ability of this cleanser. You only need a small amount to create enough foam for the whole face, especially when using a facial brush/electric facial brush or a foaming net, like I do use in the picture below. I use a chickpea sized amount of the product usually. The cleanser has a pH of 7, which might be not acid enough for some people.

Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser

I usually use this cleanser as a second step after I use the Klairs Cleansing Oil, but even on its own this cleanser performs great and removes almost all makeup products. In my test below you can see that it cleansed away everything and just some very light stains from the lip products remained.

Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser

I have mostly dry skin and some foaming cleansers might additionally feel drying on my skin, but I didn’t have the feeling here. The skin doesn’t feel squeeky, but simply clean and refreshed afterwards. I would even call this an alternative for the Sum37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick, if you love it because of the rose ingredient. It retails for 18900 Won (~19 US$) on the product site. If you would like to try it I would recommend you to ask at testerkorea at their “want” section.

Review: Max Clinic Caviar Massage Oil Foam

9. August 2014

MeMeBox Global No. 8 contained a bunch of really nice products, among those was also Max Clinic Caviar Massage Oil Foam, an oil/foam combo cleanser, making double cleansing easier and adding the extra step of massage. As some of you might know, Korean skincare routine contains the important step of double cleansing your face. That means you use two cleansing steps: in the first one, you remove the makeup, usually by using an oil cleanser, in the second step you clean your face by a foam cleanser for example. For most people this sounds like too much, but I can assure you that there is a difference in your skin condition if you do so. On the other hand, I’m mostly a lazy person, so I’m happy if things going faster…and this is exactly one aim of this combo product, because it combines those two cleansing steps in one.

Max Clinic Caviar Massage Oil Foam

I didn’t find any specific information about the brand Max Clinic, but it is a Korean brand which seems to be on the high end level, especially according to the price of the products (see details later). The packaging is made of a cardboard box, with reflecting sides. I think the image at the front of some oil (probably) looks really clean, but on the same time it looks attractive to me. Unfortunately, the description is only in Korean, but this explains probably, why this brand is rather unknown to Korean cosmetics lovers.

Max Clinic Caviar Massage Oil Foam

The oil itself comes in a sturdy plastic container with a pump. It has a clear, plastic protective cap, too. The pump dispenser is a bit inconvenient because it is not the long type of dispenser, where you easily can put your hand below, but you’ll always have to hold the bottle in an angular, so you dispense the product into the middle of your palms. Other than this the packaging looks elegant and the material is not appearing cheaply.

Max Clinic Caviar Massage Oil Foam Max Clinic Caviar Massage Oil Foam

In order to use this cleanser you first dispense one pump on your palms and massage it on your dry face. After massaging, wet your hands and continue massaging. The oil becomes a bit foamy, although it doesn’t generate huge amounts of foams. The cleansing oil is a clear, oil type (of course), yellow-ish colored product and smells fresh. It doesn’t smell of caviar or anything like that. By the way, apart from the caviar oil, I didn’t find any information about the ingredients…but the packaging says “natural ingredients”, so I hope that’s true.

Max Clinic Caviar Massage Oil Foam

This cleanser doesn’t make your skin feel dry at all. It feels nice on the skin and I read somewhere that it is also good to use together with a cleansing brush or the electric cleansing brushes. Washing with your hands limits the effectivity of this cleanser, because in my “arm test” it didn’t remove the waterproof make up nicely (see image below). Nevertheless, the skin feels clean afterwards and if you use some other make-up remover before anyways, than it should be a nice cleanser to use.

Max Clinic Caviar Massage Oil Foam

Let’s talk about the price of this cleanser. Obviously it is a rather unknown brand, but of high quality. Also the ingredient caviar oil sounds very luxurious. When I received this product with my MeMeBox Global No.8 I was shocked when I saw the price tag on the information card, because it says, that this full sized product (containing 110 g) costs US$ 73. I personally would never ever buy a cleansing oil for that price…While researching for this brand on the internet, I found that Korean resellers sell this same product for prices between 20 and 30 US$ via ebay. Still, this is expansive, but this sounds like a price more reasonable to me and lies in the range of Sum37 cleanser for example. It has some downsides, like the arrangement of the dispenser and that it doesn’t cleanse waterproof make-up that easily, but it is a good cleanser all in all.

Blog_Rating_MaxClinicCaviarOilCleanser

Nevertheless, in total, this is a high end product and I’m really happy that MeMeBox is always selecting a bunch of nice products for their global boxes. Review: Skinmiso Rice Foam Cleanser

9. February 2014
Here is another foam cleanser I’m using at the moment: Skinmiso Rice Foam Cleanser. I’m always curious about skincare products containing rice ingredients, since rice is well known for its skin benefits. This foam cleanser is claimed to be the best facial foam cleanser by Wishtrend, where you can buy it.

The packaging is simple and looks very clinical. It gives the impression of being a medical product. Indeed, the product description says that it contains many natural ingredients derived from plants, so it should be beneficial for the skin.

Here is the description taken from Wishtrend:

The best facial cleansing foam !

SKINMISO’s Rice Foam Cleansing is the best facial cleansing foam ! It uses many natural ingredients derived from plants so that the product is not harmful to your skin. It effectively removes dirt, dead skin cells, and makeup from your skin all while keeping your skin moisturized by regulating the sebum-water balance !

Plus-10 Patented Complex !This patented complex is comprised of the 10 ingredients found in nature. This formula increases elasticity of your skin and is also a great antioxidative agent.

Recommend

This facial cleansing foam is perfect for :

  • People who have excess sebum secretion.
  • People who have dead skin cell build up on their skin.
  • People who have dull looking skin.
  • People who are concerned about their whiteheads and blackheads.
  • People who want clean but not dry skin.
  • People who want an effective facial cleansing.

Ingredients:

Water, Myristic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate, Lauric Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Stearic Acid, Cocamide DEA, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin, PEG-6, Diglycerin, Glycol Stearate, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Fragrance, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Disodium EDTA, Allantoin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Morus Alba Bark Extract, Phellinus Linteus Extract, Paeonia Albiflora Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract

The product has the typical moussy consictency of foam cleansers. It is white colored and has a difficult to describe scent. I’m not good in describing scents anyway, but the scent is a mixture between sweet and fresh, but it is neither flowery nor herbal….>_<”’ Excuse me that I’m not able to describe it in a better way…

It lathers into a fine and rich foam. If I use my new Konjak Sponge I only need a tiny amount and I get enough foam already. I think it will be the same if you use a cleansing brush. The cleansing effect is also good. It cleanses reliably make-up. The skin feels clear and soft afterwards and also a bit brightened up- which is probably the effect of the removed dead skin cells. For very dry skin: don’t forget to use moisturizer afterwards, because it is not leaving your skin moisturized. But that’s with almost all foam cleansers. I think this cleanser will work great on oily skin, because of the sebum reduction effect it claims to have. Since I have dry skin mostly, I cannot judge this part. I’ve been using this foam cleanser for 4 weeks now and it didn’t give me any irritations or breakouts.

If you are curious about this foam cleanser you can have a look at Wishtrend’s online store. It is available for US$ 12.99. At the moment it is available with free shipping as far as I know. If you’ve never ordered at Wishtrend you’ll get a one-time free shipping voucher upon registration.

Review: Tony Moly Floria Flower Energy Foam Cleanser

20. June 2013
I ordered on KoCoMall a while ago (see haul here) and they gave me really a lot of samples. Tony Moly’s Floria Flower Energy Foam Cleanser was one of the products I tested already (I’m trying to use a lot of samples at the moment in order to make room for new stuff XD).

Here is Tony Moly’s description:
Youthfully radiant skin & Blooming baby-face made by time reversing secrete potion of Floria.
14 kinds of flower extract- strong anti-oxide and skin improvement effect Hibiscus solution
Evening Primrose oil Botanical moisturizing ingredient prevents dry face, keeps skin moist and soft after washing.

How to use
Push out adequate amount of Floria Flower Energy Foam and make rich foam. Cleanse face gently like massaging and rinse face with tepid water.

The sample sachet has the shape like the full size product: A simple tube with a flower printing at the front.
The cleanser has a creamy consistency with pearly shimmer. The color of the cleanser is light purple- pinkish. I hope you can see it on the picture above. It creates a nice foam which feels nice and soft. The cleaning works great, it removes everything perfectly, but struggles with waterproof eyeliner like most cleansers. But after some scrubbing it removes actually everything. The skin feels squeaky clean afterwards. Actually, it is a bit drying. Also it stings if you get some product into your eyes…so better avoid it. On the other hand, my face looked brighter after usage. I really liked the foam and the cleansing effect of Tony Moly’s Floria Flower Energy Foam Cleanser.
The full size product contains 150 ml and costs around US$ 15. I couldn’t find it in KoCoMalls shop. But it costs US$ 14.99 at cosmetic-love and US$ 13.27 at W2Beauty. If you use my link or the sponsor code 088505 for registration at W2Beauty you’ll get a 5.00 $ voucher after registration. You can use this voucher immediately for minimum order of US$ 30. But they have such a variety of products, that it becomes much to easy to spend that money, haha.

Review: Etude House Baking Powder B.B. Deep Cleansing Foam and Giveaway winner ;D

31. May 2013
Hey everyone! :) I got Etude House Baking Powder B.B. Deep Cleansing Foam as a sample with my Keautybox Sample Set. I really like this product a lot and I already ordered the full size tube a while ago through ebay, but there was a postal problem somehow and I didn’t get my order yet ~_~.

Here is the product description from Etude House:
Why we love: Facial cleanser effectively removes BB cream coverage with Baking Powder and natural scrub beads.
More to love: Natural Baking Powder: Pore Cleansing
This cleanser has already a foamy texture when you push it out of the sample sachet. You don’t need a lot of product to clean your whole face, so a sample sachet lasts for some uses, too. The foam smells of citrus and provides more foam while applying it to your face. It cleans the skin thoroughly, making it feel squeaky-clean afterwards. And I really mean squeaky clean! :D I recommend to use a moisturizing cream afterwards, especially if you have dry skin, but I guess this should be the case after almost every cleanser :D
The full size comes in a tube and contains 150 ml  and costs around US$ 14. At W2beauty you can buy this foam for US$ 13.93. If you use my link or the sponsor code 088505 for registration at W2Beauty you’ll get a 5.00 $ voucher after registration.
By the way, I reached 50 followers at GFC! Thank you all so much for sharing some interest with my blog and blog topics. If you have any requests in reviews or improvements don’t hesitate to write me an email! I appreciate your opinion a lot! And upon these good news I have an announcement to make for my mini-giveaway. Unfortunately it is over, but we have a lucky winner: Congratulations to Gabriëlle La Croix!♥ I wrote you an email about the details!:D
