Review: Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules

17. December 2017

// PR SAMPLE / BEAUTY / SKINCARE //

Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum are the renewed and even more potent version of the famous capsules from Elizabeth Arden. I’ve heard a great deal about the brand and the capsules before, but this was the first time for me to actually try this product. I love serums as you know and these tiny capsules make it even more appealing to use them every day! The product was offered to me for reviewing purpose by “brand you love”.

Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules

“To be beautiful is the birthright of every women” is the saying and motto of Elizabeth Arden, who established the brand and beauty industry revolving around it a century ago. The products are well-established and many people love the brand for its scientific approach and quality. Moreover, the products have a time-less and elegant packaging design.

Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules

The Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum is a lightweight, silky-smooth serum targeting aging skin and helping to replenish the skin barrier using the key ingredient and name-giver ceramides. It comes packed in small, golden-colored, daily portioned capsules and looks super luxurious and elegant.

Ceramides

Ceramides help to make aging skin look younger and more elastic. Ceramides are naturally occuring lipids that fortify the skin’s moisture barrier. During aging the ceramide level in our skin decreases, which leads to wrinkles and loss of firmness, but applying ceramides topically can help to reduce the effect of the loss of the ceramides. The Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum contains three different types of ceramides which help to condition the skin and make it appear and feel smoother again.

Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules

The full ingredients list of the Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum is noted on the cardboard box of the product:

Iisononyl isonanoate, isodecyl neopentainoate, isododecane, isopropyl myristate, dimethicone, camellia japonicamseed oil, divinyldimethicone/dimethicone crosspolymer, caprylic/capric triglyceride, cyclopentasiloxane, ceramide 1, ceramide 3, ceramide 6 II, cholesterol, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, crithmum maritimum extract, dimethiconol, lecithin, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, medicago sativa (alfalfa) extract, phytosphingosine, retinyl palmitate, squalene, tocopherol

As you can see, there are some ingredients to point out here. First of all the serum is dermatologically tested, free from preservatives, sulphates, and alcohol, and the capsules are made from bio-degradable material. Also, it contains other important anti-aging ingredients, like vitamin A and E, apart from the three types of ceramides. Moreover, ingredients like coconut oil and camellia japonica seed oil are great for providing hydration and moisture. Nevertheless, on the downside, the serum also contains silicon if you have a closer look at it (dimethicone). Silicons act as skin conditioner, and while they are able to make your skin feel silky smooth they also act as barrier and hinder ingredients to act in the deeper layers of the skin. So the effect you will achieve is only topically.

Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules

And indeed, when I open up a capsule, containing more than enough serum to cover the face and decolleté, I feel the silky feeling at once, and it gives you that effect that is typical for silicon containing products, the skin appears instantly smooth and feels super silky soft. Unfortunately, the oils need a long time to absorb properly, too, since the silicon doesn’t really help them to be absorbed either. In order to open the capsules you need to twist tab around and squeeze the content of it onto your fingers. You have to be careful, because the serum is released instantly, and the first time I spilled almost everything on the floor. I really like the fact that it is portioned out,and that the capsules are biodegradable, but if you are in a hurry the capsules are not really the best thing to use. A pump or pipette would be better then.

Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules

I was really happy to see Vitamin A and E on the ingredients list first, since this is a perfect combination of vitamins to battle your wrinkles. Unfortunately, I guess that the silicon will prevent these two top ingredients to sink into the deeper layers of the skin. Also, since it contains vitamin A I do not feel comfortable to use the capsules during the day, instead I prefer to use them as last step during the night (no use to add any creams on top). During the days, that I have used the capsules I noticed the instant smoothing effect from the silicon, but I didn’t see any effects it had on my wrinkles in general.

Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules

All in all, I’m a bit dissapointed about these capsules! The ingredients are really high-end, apart from the silicon! And the silicon also hinders that the other great ingredients do their job properly and penetrate into the skin. That’s really a bummer, after all the Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum is not cheap and has a good reputation. I would recommend these capsules at once if they removed the silicon in future, but as it is I can say that there are better and less expensive options to go for. The jar contains 60 capsules and retails for 78 US$ or 64.99 €.

Review: Swanicoco Bio Ferment F Fermentation Snail Care Skintoner and Emulsion

7. December 2017

// PR SAMPLE / AFFILIATE LINKS / KBEAUTY //

Two things that always get my attention in skin care products are fermented ingredients and snail secretion filtrate. I love both of these in my skin care products and I feel that they do the trick on my skin to make it happy all over. A while ago I was selected for the second round of the Swanicoco Swan Program, and they send me a huge package containing a ton of skin care products, including the Swanicoco Bio Ferment F Fermentation Snail Care Skintoner and Emulsion.

Swanicoco Bio Ferment F Fermentation Snail Care

Swanicoco is a Korean brand that stared off its business by creating naturally fermented soaps. Now, they have a huge range of products including skin care and make up products, but still all the products share the same believe in natural ingredients excluding artificial and chemical components. Swanicoco uses grains, fruits, herbs and oriental medicine materials as raw materials for their fermentation. By fermenting the products they can be much more easily absorbed into the skin, help retaining moisture and improve damaged skin. They state that instead of using purified water like in most existing cosmetics, Swanicoco has replaced the water with ferment filtrate. Additionally, pigments, synthetic perfumes, chemical preservatives, alcohol, mineral oil, paraben and benzophenones have been excluded from their products. Oh, and they are also free from animal testing!

Swanicoco Bio Ferment F Fermentation Snail Care

The brand name Swanicoco is derived from the word “swan” and the term “coco”. “Swan” referrs to the elegance and feminine aspects of the bird we probably all know. “Coco” refers to the coconut, representing the natural ingredients. In the logo of the brand you will find the word “natural”, which refers to the brand as being a natural cosmetics brand. There is also a peony blossom in the middle of the logo  that stands for richness and splendor.

Swanicoco Bio Ferment F Fermentation Snail Care

The Swanicoco Bio Ferment F Fermentation Snail Care Skintoner and Emulsion is a perfect basic skin care combination. It is hypo-allergenic, has soothing and calming properties. The combination of fermented ingredients and snail secretion filtrate helps to recover the skin and transit to a new skin care routine. It recovers and provides sufficient moisture to the skin. Snail Secretion filtrate claims to be rich in hyaluronic acid and antioxidants and thus help our skin to regenerate stimulating the formation of collagen, elastin and dermal components that repair the signs of photoaging. Also, it claims to minimize the damage generated by free radicals that are responsible for premature skin aging (there is a wikipedia entry for snail mucus, too). The snail mucus is not obtained by harming the snails, but it is collected is so-called snail farms. Ferment filtrate is nutrients-rich. It contains many vitamins, amino acids and proteins and helps to improve the moisture level of the skin.

Swanicoco Bio Ferment F Fermentation Snail Care

Swanicoco Bio Ferment F Fermentation Snail Care Skintoner

The Swanicoco Bio Ferment F Fermentation Snail Care Skintoner is a hydrating and soothing gel-type toner. It comes in a large bottle containing 120 ml and will last you for quite some time. The hard plastic packaging has the typicxal packaging we are used to from Swanicoco: simple with many information and a kind of medical/science-y design. The toner has a milky color and a floral scent. It absorbs fast though and fells refreshing on the skin. After application the skin feels hydrated and plumped and feels nice upon touch.

Swanicoco Bio Ferment F Fermentation Snail Care

The ingredients of the toner are listed below and you can also check the ingredients via Skincarisma.

ingredients: Water, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Water, Aspergillus/Rice Ferment Filtrate, Snail Secretion Filtrate, Butylene Glycol, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Panax Ginseng Callus Culture Extract, rh-Oligopeptide-1, Saccharomyces/Asparagus Cochinchinensis Root/Lycium Chinense Root/Ophiopogon Japonicus Root/Panax Ginseng Root/Poria Cocos/Rehmannia Glutinosa Root Ferment Filtrate, Bacillus/Cordyceps Sinensis/Ganoderma Lucidum/Inonotus Obliquus/Lentinus Edodes/Phellinus Linteus/Schizophyllum Commune/Tricholoma Matsutake Extract Ferment Filtrate, Saussurea Involucrata Extract, Saccharomyces/Viscum Album (Mistletoe) Ferment Extract, Lactobacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract, Saccharomyces/Imperata Cylindrica Root Ferment Extract, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Polysorbate 60, Tocopheryl Acetate, Allantoin, Ceramide 1, Carbomer, Arginine, Rosa Centifolia Flower Oil, Magnolia Kobus Bark Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Thujopsis Dolabrata BRANCH Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Leaf Extract

Apart from snail secretion filtrate and fermented ingredients the toner also contains licorice extract, collagen, hyaluronic acid, ginseng extract, and so many more ingredients worth mentioning!

Swanicoco Bio Ferment F Fermentation Snail Care

Swanicoco Bio Ferment F Fermentation Snail Care Emulsion

The Swanicoco Bio Fement F Fermentation Snail Care Emulsion has similar properties as the toner and many of the same ingredients. The two products work perfectly together, and also the emulsion comes in an identical bottle packaging containing 120 ml. You have to look and read what’s on the bottle if you have both. I sometimes grabbed blindly and reached out for the emulsion first, before having used the toner. The emulsion is a light textured cream, which is perfect as daily moisturizer, leaving no greasiness or traces after application. It has the same scent as the toner.

Swanicoco Bio Ferment F Fermentation Snail Care

You can find the ingredients listed below and they are also included in Skincarisma:

Water, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Water, Aspergillus/Rice Ferment Filtrate, Snail Secretion Filtrate, Butylene Glycol, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Stearic Acid, Lactobacillus/Bambusa Vulgaris Shoot Extract/Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract/Luffa Cylindrica Fruit Extract/Morus Alba Root Extract/Pueraria Lobata Root Extract Ferment Filtrate, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Panax Ginseng Callus Culture Extract, Human Oligopeptide-1, Saccharomyces/Viscum Album (Mistletoe) Ferment Extract, Lactobacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract, Saccharomyces/Imperata Cylindrica Root Ferment Extract, Saussurea Involucrata Extract, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Polysorbate 60, Tocopheryl Acetate, Allantoin, Ceramide 1, Carbomer, Arginine, Saccharomyces/Lycium Chinense Fruit/Rehmannia Glutinosa Root/Cuscuta Chinensis Fruit/Cistanche Deserticola/Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit/Chrysanthemum Morifolium Fruit/Poria Cocos/ Cinnamomum Cassia Ferment, Rosa Centifolia Flower Oil, Magnolia Kobus Bark Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Thujopsis Dolabrata BRANCH Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Leaf Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract

Also here the ingredients are mainly targeting moisturizing and soothing the skin. The main difference between the toner and the emulsion in my opinion lies in the fermented extracts which are either from Saccharomyces, Lactobacillus, Aspergillus, or Bacillus.

Swanicoco Bio Ferment F Fermentation Snail Care

I love how great the Swanicoco Bio Ferment F Fermentation Snail Care Emuslion and Skintoner work together! They both provide moisture and are soothing and therefore perfect for stressed skin. Nevertheless, both products contain so many great ingredients, that they also have properties that support the elasticity and nutrition of the skin. I can imagine that this is perfect for recovering stressed skin and for a transition into a new skin care routine. I also really like the huge packaging contains 120 ml each. This will make sure to last for a while. Unfortunately, both look very similar in their design, so you have to look properly what you are grabbing. My skin worked well with these two products and I didn’t experience any negative reactions. Still, everyone’s skin might react differently, so in case you will be trying out these products, please do a patch test before starting to use it, just to be sure. You can also find Swanicoco products at Beautytap (formerly W2Beauty). The toner and the emulsion retail for 15 US$ right now each.

You can also use these coupon codes until end of 2017 for a discount:

Unboxing: Kirei Station Getsu Box November 2017

5. December 2017

//PR SAMPLE/ MAKE UP / JAPAN //

I love Japanese beauty products equally much to Korean beauty products, but unfortunately, they are a bit harder to get. Remember when I reviewed some Japanese products from Kirei Station a while ago? Guess what?! Now they have also a subscription box to offer: the Getsu Box! Here is an unboxing of the first Getsu Box November 2017:

Kirei Station Getsu Box

What is Kirei Station Getsu Box?

What Kirei Staion says: “Kirei Station Getsu (monthly) Box delivers unique Japanese products to you on a monthly subscription basis. All products are from a wide range of Japanese brands. There are a lot of Japanese products that works really well and are raved by the locals, some of them are often very affordable and convenient to use. Unfortunately, these products are not very easy for people overseas to get their hands on, hence the reason we decided to offer subscription boxes in our shop. Mainly to spread awareness of different brands and help other beauty enthusiasts find interesting and sometimes cute Japanese beauty products whether it is from a popular or  an unknown brand and also to make purchasing these products more accessible for anyone at a low-cost. You might also find your holy grail products through our Getsu Box!”

Kirei Station Getsu Box

This box came with 3 full-sized makeup products, one mask, and some cute samples and chocolate! *_* Of course there was also a description note for the single products included.

Kirei Station Getsu Box

Sana Pore Putty CC Cream

This was my personal highlight of this box. I’ve wanted to try this CC cream for forever and here it is! And it has become my go-to daily CC cream for the last weeks. This CC cream offers a pore-less, skin-like natural finish, claims to be long-lasting, and contains SPF 50+ PA++++ and hyaluronic acid. Apart from the “natural matte” finish, which was part of the Getsu Box here, this CC cream is also available in “Enriched Moist” and “Bright Up”. It also was a part of the Cosme 2017 Mid-year rankings.

Kirei Station Getsu Box

Cezanne Gel Eyeliner

Cezanne is also one of the more popular Japanese beauty brand. This brown colored gel eyeliner has a soft texture and a natural pigmentation. It doesn’t smudge or bulge at all and it was really a thing to remove my swatched line on my hand. It is waterproof and can be used as eyeliner, but also blended out for more depth. It is available in black, too, but in Japan brown eyeliner is really popular, because it gives a more natural look.

Kirei Station Getsu Box

Shiseido Therapindo Oil Balm R

This oil balm bar by Shiseido is perfect for winter days. It is made with lavender essence and sesame oil. I haven’t used it yet, but I’m sure it will be useful in the next months. And look at this adorable packaging design! I wished the western Shiseido products would offer more of their girly designs here, too.

Kirei Station Getsu Box

Kose Clear Turn Lift Astaxanthin Mask

You can never go wrong with a mask! This sheet masks contains Astaxanthin for firmness and anti-aging. The Kose Clear Turn masks have been number 1 in the sheet mask category in Japan from January 2006 to December 2016! That sounds like a really superb mask to me!

Last but not least, some samples and chocolate!*_*

Kirei Station Getsu Box

What do you think about this box? I will make use of all the products, so I’d say that this was a good one for me. My highlight is the CC cream, which I’m really using on a daily basis at the moment :)  The Getsu Box retails for 30 US$ plus shipping if you want to opt for EMS or registered mail (SAL is free of charge). There are also options to get the Gestu Box for 3, 6, or 12 months. At the moment you can subscribe for the January Getsu Box, which will include 4 full-sized products and 4 other products (masks/travel sized/snacks/samples…).

I will make more detailed reviews on the single products in future. Are you especially interested in any of these? Let me know!

Review: Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum & Snail Repair Advanced 91 Serum

3. December 2017

// PR SAMPLE / SKINCARE / KBEAUTY //

I’m always up for new skin care products and I love especially trying new serums. Some of my favorite key ingredients are vitamin C and snail secretion filtrate. A while ago I received two serums containing exactly these two ingredients: the Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum and the Purito Snail Repair Advanced 91 Serum from Eopenmarket for reviewing purpose. I have tested these two products thoroughly the last weeks and here is my verdict regarding these two products. Additionally, there will be a giveaway on my Instagram account, where you can win both products!

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

Purito is a rather young Korean brand with cruelty-free and 10-free skin care products. The products are free from paraben, ethanol, surfactants, artificial coloring, fragrance, triethanolamine, phthalein, triclosan, petrochemicals, benzoyl peroxide.

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

The Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum is directed towards anti-aging and prevents the formation of new wrinkles as well. It is highly moisturizing containing almost 90% of hyaluronic acid. 10% of the serum is ascorbic acid (Vitamin C). Vitamin C is always good to have in your skincare routine. I have tried a couple of serums in the past (check >>here<<). Vitamin C is an antioxidant and thus can prevent our skin from aging too early and from sun-damage. A high concentration of Vitamin C doesn’t mean automatically that it is more effective concerning anti-aging. Normally, a high concentration of Vitamin C aims at a visible effect, because it tends to operate as a chemical peeling by loosening dead and old cells. This is not a bad effect and stimulates the skin to regenerate itself, but keep in mind that it won’t affect the inner cell layers of your skin which have to be aimed if you really want an anti-aging effect. With 10 % vitamin C in this serum this serum lies between the OST C20 serum and the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop. The thing about Vitamin C is, that it oxidizes with time, and you have to use it up very quickly. You will see as the color of the serum will get more yellowish with time. A possibility to prevent the vitamin C from oxidizing is to stabilize it with ferulic acid or vitamin E or use derivates.

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

If you look at the ingredients list of this serum you will see that the ascorbic acid is not stabilized, so the only way is, to store it in a dark and cool place and use it up quickly, once opened.

ingredients: Sodium Hyaluronate (84%), Ascorbic Acid (10%), 1,2-Hexanediol, Niacinamide, Arginine, Human-Oligopeptide-1, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Extract, Magnolia Liliflora Bude Extract, Lilium Tigrinum Extract, Paeonia Albiflora Root Extract, Tuber Magnatum Extract, Pyrus Malus Extract, Red Ginseng Extract, Sodium Polyacrylate, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA

You can check for the properties of the single ingredients via Skincarisma. Ascorbic Acid and Niacinamide have brightening and anti-aging properties, and also arginine is directed towards anti-aging. The ingredients are also listed on COSDNA.

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

As you can see my serum already started to get darker in color and it is time to throw it out. Yet when I opened it up newly it already had a light yellow tint. The serum is a quite runny formula despite being a serum and it feels very moist and hydrating on the skin. It has no specific fragranced scent either. Once applied it will dry down after a while. At first, it will still have a slightly tacky residue, which disappears after some time without a trace. I don’t have any before and after pictures of my skin, because I use a combination of many products which affect each other. But this serum definitely makes the skin feel softer!

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

Purito Snail Repair Advanced 91 Serum

The second serum from Purito is the Snail Repair Advanced 91 Serum and as the name says, this serum contains 91% of snail secretion ferment.  Snail Mucus claims to be rich in hyaluronic acid and antioxidants and thus help our skin to regenerate stimulating the formation of collagen, elastin and dermal components that repair the signs of photoaging. Also, it claims to minimize the damage generated by free radicals that are responsible for premature skin aging (there is a Wikipedia entry for snail mucus, too). The snail mucus is not obtained by harming the snails, but it is collected is so-called snail farms.

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

The ingredients are also listed on the cardboard packaging:

ingredients: Saccharomyces/Snail Secretaion Ferment Filtrate (91%), Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Niacinamide, Betaine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Polyacrylate, Allantonin, sh-Oligopeptide-1, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Pyrus Malus Fruit Extract, Cucumus Sativus Fruit Extract, Camelia Sinsensis LEaf Extract, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA, Lavandula Angustifolia Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Citrus Limon Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcus Oil, Cananga

You can check out the properties of the single ingredients via Skincarisma or COSDNA. The Purito Snail Repair Advanced 91 Serum contains more ingredients than the Vitamin C Serum, but mostly plant-based extracts and oils. Again, because of the oils added people with sensitive skintypes should be aware of potential reactions.

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

The serum has a clear color and feels a bit tackier upon application. But also here the product absorbs without traces after a while. This serum is free from any fragrance, too, and feels calming on the skin. I love using anything that contains snail secretion on irritated skin and troubles. I feel they help to reduce redness and irritations.

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

I’m really happy with both serums, although, I would wish that the Vitamin C in the first serum would be stabilized to make it last longer. I like the short and mainly plant-based ingredients lists and the fact that the products are free from 10 unwanted chemicals. Additionally, it is a plus that the brand is cruelty-free. On top, the price for the serums is super affordable with only 10.31US$!

If you are curious about these two serums you have the chance to win both of them on my Instagram account! Feel free to enter :)

Have you heard of Purito? And what serums are you using in your skincare routine?

2. December 2017

// PR Sample / Disney / Stationary //

Christmas is just around the corner and I know that many of you will probably also look online for some gift ideas…or maybe you are looking for something to spoil yourself? I personally love to make myself happy with little cute things and since I’m a huge Disney lover everything that has to do with any of their characters usually makes me happy, although I have of course my favourites. Of course, I love the Disney Princess Movies, and I love Alice in Wonderland! I was happy to receive a bag of surprises from Modes4U and in case you didn’t know that online store I can recommend you to check it out:

This tiny Bento Box with the Little Mermaid print on the lid is so adorable! I love bento boxes and all the cute items you can buy for them and if I have time I prepare a bento for my lunch time at work. It always brings me to a happier mood. The box here is really tiny, but it fits some small snacks like a trail mix or grapes for example. It is also cute to use for small things you want to keep…for example like the stickers above. There are different motives for this tiny box with either prints from Arielle, Tinker Bell, Rapunzel, or Alice. The box can be washed up to 140 degrees Celsius, the lid can be washed up to 70 degrees Celsius, and the lower part of the box can be used in the microwave, too. This item is BPA free and therefore food and child safe! It retails for 6.99US$ (5.99€).

Disney

Perfectly for the season, the delivered items came with a free Christmas-themed Washi Tape and a Christmas themed business Card *_* So cute!

Disney

Now, and for my orders in the past, I have always been very happy with Modes4U and their products, aswell as with their delivery. The items arrive really quickly and they have a good quality, too. I can really recommend you to check out their store, and if you love cute things like the items I showed you here, you will fall in love with their product range! The shipping costs are free from 70 US$ (60€), but also if you order less than that the shipping costs are not that high and calculated on a fair basis. You might also want to check out their Christmas themed products, since it might be the perfect season for it ;).

What do you think about these items? Have you ordered from Modes4U before?

Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream: Probably, you cannot here it any longer, but I love this jar of eye cream! Plus that purple packaging! *_* You can get it  >>here<<.

SanDaWha Camellia Flower Hydrating Mist: Are you looking for a mist with few ingredients and a lovely scent of Camellia japonica Flower Extract? Then you should take a look at this mist from SanDaWha! I don’t use mists often, but I love this one! It is available >>here<<.

Tonymoly Perfect Lips Shocking Lip: A lip tint with a great color pigmentation and long-lasting stain. One of my favourite every day tints! Get it >>here<<.

Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact: The favourite cushion of mine I tried this year. It gives a beautiful finish and a nice glow! Go >>here<< to grab it!

These products have been reviewed here aswell.

22. November 2017

//AFFILIATE LINKS / AD / KBEAUTY //

Did you wonder why I haven’t written any posts on the monthly Wishtrend coupons, yet? Here is the answer: there are no regular monthly coupons this month. You will probably wonder why, but on the other hand, maybe this post title already explains most of it: November is that time of the year when the huge Wishtrend Black Friday Offers and Discounts await us. And also Wishtrend has prepared some AMAZING deals. I also started to think about what items to stock up and we have still few days left to make up our minds. As I heard, yesterday the site already has been down due to the incredible amount of traffic!!!

Wishtrend Black Friday

If you don’t know Wishtrend, but love Korean or Asian cosmetics and skin care products I can recommend you to check out their online shop, especially for some of my favorite products. I will put a list at the end of all the products that I have reviewed before, and also give some recommendations on what to grab if you have the chance. Furthermore, they have really a great affiliate program for blogger and I can advice you to join it if you are one. If you know Wishtrend already: there has been a change to our shopping experience at Wishtrend, apart from the Black Friday Offers:

Wishtrend Black Friday
Usually, Wishtrend also has a great friends invitation program: you can receive a 5 US$ referral coupon if you are a new customer. The principle is easy as this: If you use my invitation code 17939205 upon registration you’ll receive a 5 US$ voucher immediately. There will be a specific field in your registration form called “friends invitation program” where you can put the code mentioned above. This way new customers can get 5 US$ off, which is a great to save some money on your first order. I don’t know though, if this coupon can be used during the black friday sales (I guess it cannot be used since there is already so much discount…)

Wishtrend Black Friday

Last but not least, if you do not know where to start and what to put in your card I have some recommendations for you: I selected 4 products that I enjoyed during this year, and I have reviewed all of them before and used them for a longer period of time without any regrets. Please keep in mind though, that every skin and skin type might react in a different way. My dry but yet very insensitive skin might react in another way as your skin, whether it may be dry, too, or any other skin type. If you have any questions to the products feel free to contact me (write me comments here or reach out to me via Instagram).

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water: If you do not know whether harsh chemical peelings like AHA and BHA are suited for your skin you should go for this mild chemical exfoliator containing mandelic acid. Mandelic Acid is a mild AHA, which is perfectly suited for sensitive skin types. It didn’t feel irritating at all and makes the skin texture so much more even. This is one of my favourite deals because you receive 2 bottles of this for the price of one! That makes a discount of 50%!

I’m from Ginseng Serum: This serum combines so many ingredients I love and is my favourite serum during the day. Ginseng extracts, Ginseng oil, green tea, licorice….so many great plant-based ingredients and that hanbang scent! So lovely! The serum retails for 18.72 US% instead of 28.80 US$.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash: I can only repeat myself and say how much I love the Matcha scent of this powder wash! It is a great exfoliator for every now and then and really great for travelling, since it comes as powder and has only to be mixed with water or toner for use. This cleanser retails for 17.20 US$ instead of 22 US$.

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum: I have used three bottles of this serum and it is – hands down – still one of my all-time favourites! I love the warming sensation and the oil-like consistency of the serum and it makes the skin look more healthy and smooth than before. LOVE! You can get this for 14.95 US$ instead of 23 US$ during the Black Friday Week. Or you can get this together with the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask (which is lovely and has a wonderful cream-to-liquid consistency and acts brightening) for 30 US$ instead of 50 US$.

I hope that these quick last minute-recommendations will help you to decide what to buy during Black Friday on Wishtrend. As promised at the beginning, here are finally the reviews for products available on Wishtrend that I did in the past. You might like to check these out, if you are interested in purchasing these. Have fun shopping!

asian cosmetics beauty Chiara Ambra PR Sample review

Review: Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming Face & Eye Mask

20. November 2017

//PR SAMPLE / BEAUTY / SKINCARE //

Lace always give me that feeling of luxury and mystery! I love lace on clothes, since it makes them look more feminine and noble. But lace is not only limited to clothes and cloth in general, but we can also enjoy its beauty in our skincare. One example are the Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming Face & Eye Masks, which were provided to me for reviewing purpose by Chiara Ambra.

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming

Chiara Ambra is a German skincare company, that is influenced by the new skincare trends. They have a nice range of sheet masks by now, like animal print sheet masks, bubble masks, cotton sheet masks and masks for lips, hand and feet. They also offer other skincare products for your face and body though. I want to show you their Hydrogel Firming Face and Eye Mask here:

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming Face Mask

This Hydrogel firming sheet mask containing green tea and hyaluronic acid is providing intensive moisture to the skin and thereby improves the skin’s elasticity. The mask is divided into two parts, one for the upper and one for the lower part of the face. Both hydrogel sheets are folded in a clear plastic separating foil and additionally have a black plastic foil folded separately.

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming

The sheet mask comes in a sachet with descriptions in English, German, and French on the backside. Other important ingredients to mention, apart from hyaluronic acid and green tea, are red algae, soy bean, urea and allantonin. The ingredient list is also stated on the sachet:

Hydrogel Lace: WaterGlycerinButylene GlycolCeratonia Siliqua GumSucrose,Chondrus Crispus PowderCellulose Gum, 1, 2-HexanediolAgarXanthan GumAllantoin,Disodium EdtaMicaTriethoxycaprylylsilane,Sodium HydroxideHydroxyacetophenone,C12-13 Pareth-9ParfumCi 77891Ci 77491.

Serum: WaterButylene Glycol,GlycerinDipropylene GlycolGlycereth-26,Peg/ppg-17/6 CopolymerTrehalose, 1, 2-HexanediolSaccharide IsomerateCamellia Sinensis Leaf ExtractPropylene Glycol,Sodium LactateGlycolic AcidSucroseUrea,Sodium CitrateCitric AcidMalic Acid,Tartaric AcidGoldGlycine Soja Seed Extract,Dipotassium GlycyrrhizateSodium HyaluronatePolyacrylic AcidAcrylates/c10-30 Alkyl Acrylate CrosspolymerSodium HydroxideAllantoinHydroxyethylcellulose,Disodium EDTA, HydroxyacetophenoneC12-13 Pareth-9Parfum, Linalool.

You can also check for the ingredients on Skincarisma. There are some irritants regarding sensitive skintypes it seems, like citric acid, tataric acid, glycolic acid, and it also contains fragrance. I personally didn’t experience any irritations, but my skin is mostly dry and not too sensitive either. It was very happy about the many moisturizing ingredients instead.

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming

When you remove the plastic layers you will be left with the hydrogel sheet with a beautiful lace pattern imbedded into it. Also there are golden shimmer particles inside the hydrogel. It really looks beautiful and luxurious.

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming

Since it is made from two parts it also fits very nicely, and surprisingly it also has a very good adherence. Usually, I have problems with hydrogel sheet masks sliding of my face, but this one stayed perfectly fine during the 15 minutes I used it.

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming

I rarely post a full-face sheet mask picture on my blog, but the lace pattern is so beautiful I had to share it.

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming

The mask really makes the skin feel hydrated and cared for after the time I used it. Instead of removing the serum with a tissue as recommended I left it on my skin to absorb. I also used the left-over essence in the sachet on my neck and arms. I was very happy with the mask and its moisturizing properties. However, the essence does leave a tackiness on the skin. It is not a very unpleasant stickiness though, but it also doesn’t absorb trackless.

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming Eye Mask

This Hydrogel Firming Eye Mask can be seen as the little sister of the face mask. These pads are designed for the under-eye area and will help to make your eyes look less tired and cool them down.

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming

The ingredients of the Hydrogel Firming Eye Mask are pretty much the same as for the face mask. Instead of green tea it contains grape seed extract though. It still also contains hyaluronic acid, red algae, soy bean, urea and allantonin. The ingredient list is also stated on the sachet:

Hydrogel Lace: WaterGlycerinButylene GlycolCeratonia Siliqua GumSucrose,Chondrus Crispus PowderCellulose Gum, 1, 2-HexanediolAgarXanthan GumAllantoin,Disodium EdtaMicaTriethoxycaprylylsilane,Sodium HydroxideHydroxyacetophenone,C12-13 Pareth-9ParfumCi 77891Ci 77491.

Serum: WaterButylene Glycol,GlycerinDipropylene GlycolGlycereth-26,Peg/ppg-17/6 CopolymerTrehalose, 1, 2-HexanediolSaccharide IsomerateVitis Vinifera Seed ExtractPropylene Glycol,Sodium LactateGlycolic AcidSucroseUrea,Sodium CitrateCitric AcidMalic Acid,Tartaric AcidGoldGlycine Soja Seed Extract,Dipotassium GlycyrrhizateSodium HyaluronatePolyacrylic AcidAcrylates/c10-30 Alkyl Acrylate CrosspolymerSodium HydroxideAllantoinHydroxyethylcellulose,Disodium EdtaEthylhexylglycerin,PhenoxyethanolHydroxyacetophenoneC12-13 Pareth-9Parfum.

As for the face mask also here there are some ingredients that people with sensitive skin should be aware of, namely citric acid, tataric acid, glycolic acid and fragrance. Check out the full ingredients on Skincarisma.

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming

The Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming Eye Mask is a white laced hydrogel pad, in contrast to the black laced face mask. Also here the lace pattern is really nicely made and embedded inside the hydrogel. You will also discover sparkles of shimmer gold particles inside.

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming

Also here, the hydrogel really clings nicely to the skin and doesn’t slide around or fall off. I really loved that fact!

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming

It delivers a refreshing and cooling sensation on the skin under your eyes and makes you look more awake after application. The skin also feels moisturized due to all the ingredients inside the serum.

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming

All in all, I’m happy about these hydrogel sheet masks from Chiara Ambra. It was the first time for me to use laced sheet masks and I really like the appearance of these. also, I really was happy that these hydrogels didn’t slip off my face, because usually, that’s my downside about hydrogel masks. Instead they fit very nicely and stayed in place. My only downside would be the irritants for senstive skintypes. I can understand why glycolic acid was included, especially with regard to its smoothing properties, but I could think of natural fragrance instead of perfume.

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming Face Mask retails for 9.95€

Chiara Ambra Hydrogel Firming Eye Mask retails for 7.95€

asian cosmetics beauty PR Sample review Wishtrend

Review: By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

12. November 2017

// PR SAMPLE / AFFILIATE LINKS / KBEAUTY //

I love drinking tea and green tea is one of my favourites! The scent makes me feel awake in the mornings and also I tend to love skincare products containing green tea a lot regarding their scent. A new product from Wishtrend called By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash has just launched and I am so happy to be able to report to you about my experiences on testing this product for the last weeks.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

Probably, you know that Wishtrend does not only sell other Korean brands but also has a step in the beauty industry itself. Apart from known brand names Klairs or Jungle Botanics they also have products named under the brand “By Wishtrend”. Well-known products from By Wishtrend are the Vitamin C 21.5 Advanced Serum, Natural Vitamin 21.5 Enhancing Vitamin Mask, or the Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water which I reviewed not long ago. The latest addition to the By Wishtrend product family is the By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash is a cleanser that comes in powder form. In order to make the product ready for cleansing your skin you have to add water or your favourite watery toner to the powder and lather it up. Powder Wash are probably one of my favourite cleansing types for travelling, since the product will never leak and create a mess during transportation if it breaks. The powder wash comes in a pale green plastic bottle which makes it very lightweight and perfectly portable. The packaging is very simple and only shows the product name and some minor description on the backside. The cardboard box has the same green color and simple design, but it contains more thorough information on the sides in Korean and English.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

Green Tea

Green tea does not only have health benefits when consumed, but also has many benefits for the skin when applied topically. It contain polyphenols and Vitamins A,C, and E, which have anti-oxidant properties, and so it acts anti-aging and protects the skin from UV damage. Moreover, it also has moisturizing, soothing and smoothening properties on the skin. It is practically an all-rounder and has been used for many years in cosmetics products, especially in the asian region, where drinking green tea and tea in general is a major part of the culture.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

Other key ingredients of the By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash are Papain, Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Powder), and Amino Acid Surfactants derived from coconut. Papain is an enzyme that mildly exfoliates your skin and acts as skin conditioner. Baking powder has skin conditioning and exfoliating properties as well. It is more abrasive than papain and suited to help acne-prone skin to get rid of skin troubles. Last but not least, the amino acid surfactants have a weak acidity and moisture retaining properties. The ingredients list in total is not very long and you can find the full english ingredients listed on the cardboard box packaging:

Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder, Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Sorbitol, Papain, Betaine, Cellulose Gum, Citric Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate

You can check the ingredients via COSDNA or Skincarisma to see what the single ingredients are for. The product is free from alcohol, paraben and sulphates. It has mainly brighteing, exfoliating and  anti aging properties and is in generally suited for all skintypes, but it contains corn starch and citric acid. Corn starch can be irritating for acne-prone skintypes and citric acid has to be used with care for sensitive skintypes. I personally have dry skin and didn’t react in a negative way the Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

As I said before you have to mix this powder with lukewarm water (or your favourite toner) to lather it up. The Wishtrend description recommends lukewarm water to activate the enzyme properties of the cleanser. Also, it is recommended not to use AHAs/BHAs, highly concentrated Vitamin C, Retinol, etc. together with the product, because the cleanser already contains exfoliating ingredients and you do not want to over-exfoliate your skin. For sensitive skintypes it is recommended to use the cleanser only 2-3 times a week.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

First of all, the By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash smells amazing! It has the scent of fresh matcha tea or matcha latte and just is sooo yummy if you are a green tea lover like me. I feel directly refreshed by the scent when I’m using this cleanser. The foam that is created is not a lot, but only a very watery lather, but on the other hand it is not drying on the skin either. The pH I tested was at 7, but it largely depends on your tap water (or toner) in this case. Regarding it cleansing properties I can recommend it as second step cleanser. It won’t do the work as full makeup remover, so I would use an oil cleanser or balm cleanser to remove my makeup first and then use the powder wash. More often I preferred to use this wash in the mornings as only cleanser though! The powder wash will make the skin feel really refreshed, but not dried out. Moreover the skin feels super soft after application and you can feel that it really works with all these exfoliating ingredients.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

For me the By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash is perfect as once in a while morning cleanser. Usually, I only use water or cleansing water in the mornings. This powder wash adds some nice exfoliating effects and has an amazing scent that makes you feel awake! Since it contains many exfoliating ingredients people with sensitive skin have to try it out slowly, using it only few times in the week. I can imagine that it will act very positively on people with acne prone skin and make the skin feel smoothened out.

If you are curious about the By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash, too, it usually retails for 22.00 US$ and is available at Wishtrend. But at the moment it is on launching sale until 16th November for only  17.60US$. Keep in mind the friend-referral program from Wishtrend: You can receive a 5 Us$ referral coupon if you use my invitation code 17939205 upon registration and you’ll receive this voucher immediately. There will be a specific field in your registration form called “friends invitation program” where you can put the code mentioned above. This way new customers can safe 5 US$ which is a great possibility to safe some money. Also, Wishtrend has a Free-Shipping Area, were you can find products that can be bought with free shipping. There won’t be any Wishtrend Coupons for this months because of the upcoming Black Friday sales. But there are special prices available for the powder wash in combination with the Vitamin 75 Maximizing Cream and 21.5 Enhancing mask.

What is your impression on the By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash? Have you tried powder washes before?
