Graveyard: August empties 2014

August has passed too quickly :/ But it means, that I have a new empties post for you. Here you go:

1. Etude House Color My Brows – Repurchase? Yes.

This was the first eyebrow mascara I bought. I wanted my brows to have a lighter color than my natural dark eyebrows and it did a descent job. Considering the price I could imagine to repurchase it, too. See my old review >>here<<.

2. Bebe More (Johnson&Johnson) Fresh Eyes and Face – Repurchase? No.

This was in one of the Glossyboxes I received. It is a nice eye makeup remover and it did a good job. Moreover, it is a local drugstore brand so it is easily available here in Germany. But there are a lot of other cleansers in my stash which I would love to try first before I repurchase this.

3. Shiseido Perfect Whip Cleansing Foam and Watery Oil – Repurchase? Yes.

I really enjoyed using these two. They were part of the promotional set of the Shiseido Hada Senka Lotion. I loved especially the foam cleanser. It created such a lovely soft foam with a foaming net ♥ These cleansers are quite cheap in full size, so I’m thinking of buying the Perfect Whip Foam in future.

4. John Frida Frizz-Ease Daily Miracle Deep Conditioner – Repurchase? Maybe.

I still have a travel size version of this leave in deep conditioner. It’s easy to use and it tames your hair if your hair tends to be frizzy…At the moment I’m prefering hair oils… that’s the only reason I won’t repurchase it at the moment. (I don’t know if I translated the product name correctly).

5. Syoss Deep Repair Hair Treatment – Repurchase? Maybe.

Again, the same as for the above, I’m using mostly hairoils at the moment and very rarely deep conditioners…and my hair looks much better since that. But maybe I will repurchase this sometime, especially when my hair gets longer again :D

That’s it for my product empties from August. Not much, but still some :D I used a couple of samples and sheet masks, but I don’t want to list them :D Do you know any of the above? What’s your opinion about them? Leave a comment if you like ♥

Review: Etude House Sweet Recipe Candy Stick

The Etude House Sweet Recipe Candy Stick was part of my MeMeBox My Cute Wishlist I reviewed earlier, and it deserves it place in this box, simply because of it’s sweet candy stick design. I was really happy about the content of the box and this item is no exception. Since it is a lipbalm, it is also something which is handy all time and therefore usefull, too :)

Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adoreable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging…The Etude House Sweet Recipe Candy Stick fulfills these criteria, too, since it is a lipbalm designed like the candy sticks you know probably from Christmas :D The lipbalm is available in three different shades called Seedless Strawberry Candy, Sour Lemon Candy, and Oh!Orange Candy. The latter is the one I will show you here.

Each of the candy sticks comes in the color of the fruit described by the name and thus this one is orange…and not only the color matches, the scent is also a sweet orange scent which is lingering quite long (if you don’t like scents you should skip this). The lipbalm has no taste and feels moisturising and glides smoothly. On my swatch below you can see, that it has a light tint, but this is not visible on my lips, since I have pigmented lips. Maybe people with light colored lips will see an orange hue on their lips.

This is a cute lipbalm and it is comparable to Tonymoly’s Petit Bunny Gloss Bar I reviewed in my early blogging days. I love both of them, but I adore the fruity and fresh orange scent of the Etude House Sweet Recipe Candy Stick! ♥ If you would like to buy this you can search through most of the Korean online retailes, for example from W2Bauty for 7.32 US$.

Review: Tunemakers Original Moisture Lotion

I introduced the online shop Beautystar in my previous review about Relevance Highlighter Tip and today I will review another item which was provided to me for reviewing purpose, the Tunemakers Original Moisture Lotion. Beautystar is an online shop selling Japanese skincare and cosmetic products which are harder to find in other online shops. Apart from the lotion (Japanese lotion is the adequate to Korean toner or skin) I received a serum with I will review separately in future.

Tunemakers is a Japanese brand, which seems to be featured in a lot of Japanese magazines…unfortunately the brands site is in Japanese only, but according to Beautystar’s describtion, Tunemakers was born through the wish of a lot of people for skincare products which contain ingredients which are part of the skin. I think this means, the use of raw ingredients in a good concentration to be absorbed by the skin and yet have the best possible effect.

The Tunemakers Original Moisture Lotion is a simple waterbased lotion containing ceramide, hyaluronic acid, honey, collagenand royal jelly extract in a ratio of 5:3.5:2:1:1. Water with a weak acidity builds the basis of this mixture. Ceramide is one of the main lipid components of the skin. The content of ceramide declines with age, so ceramide is a skin-identical component and is supposed to help the skin regenerating or balancing the decrease in ceramides. Collagen is also one of these components which occur naturally in our body and thus in our skin. The amount of collagen declines with our age, too. Ceramides and collangens in cosmetics won’t probably affect our skin in a way, that we start building more collagen and/or ceramides in our skin, however, collagen binds moisture and thus does it help to prevent our skin to dry, when applied on our skin. The same for ceramide, which, as a lipid keeps the right amount of fatty acids on our skin. Hyaluronic acid binds moisture aswell and thus helps the skin to stay moisturized, too. Honey and royal jelly extract are both natural ingredients. Honey is one of the ingredients with the oldest history for beauty uses. Both these ingredients contain vitamins, aminoacids and have anti-inflammatory and also antioxidant effects.

The full ingredient list is supprisingly short: water, glycerin, 1,2 – hexanediol, sphingoglycolipids of rice bran , hyaluronic acid Na, honey,water-soluble collagen, hydrolyzed royal jelly extract, licorice root extract, ascorbyl phosphate Mg, lysolecithin, hydrogenated lecithin, BG, xanthan gum, apple acid Na, malic acid, citric acid, citric acid Na, phenoxyethanol. Thant’s it! According to COSDNA almost all the ingredients are green flagged. No fragrance, no coloring, no mineral oil, petroleum based surfactant-free, paraben-free,and alcohol- free. I guess this should be suited to people with sensitive skin, too.

The product itself comes in a brown colored glass bottle. It is real glass, so you have to be careful while using it. Other than this, the bottle looks like a vintage medicine bottle, with a simple ettiquette and all in Japanese. The opening has a drip function, so you won’t spill too much lotion on your hands. I usually apply these moisturising toners/lotion with my hands, directly after washing my face. It has the same consistency like water, it has no scent and feels very light. After applying it absorbs really quickly into the skin and leaves my skin very soft and hydrated.

Apart from the fact that it is a glass bottle, this lotion/toner has nothing I would complain about. It has a short ingredient list, feels like water, but makes the skin feel hydrated. I didn’t have any skin irritations while using it and I’m using it every day since two weeks now :) You can get this from Beautystar for US$ 19.50 and I’m sure, that there will be quite some of you, who will share my opinion.

Review: Aritaum World Glam Coating Tint

I was super excited when Ibuybeauti contacted me a while ago, in order to write some reviews for their Beautifan page. After having received my products, here is the first review I wrote :) You can also have a look at the review on Beautifan here and I would be happy if you would leave a comment or just have a look at it :) ♥

Aritaum is a Korean brand which belongs to the Amore Pacific family. The first time I came into contact with this brand was though another lip product, the Aritaum Wannabe Cushion Tints, which I fell in love at first site, because of the beautiful and colorful design. In case of the World Glam Coatint Tints, it was not because of the design of the product, that I chose this. The design here is simple and mature here. The World Glam Coatint Tint collection comprises ten different shades and each shade is named after a city. That is where the name World Glam comes from. The name of the city is written in capital letters around the cap of the lip tint, which also has the corresponding color of the tint. Apart from this the packaging is black. I chose the shade “Shanghai”, a classic red according to the promotional pictures.

Each lip tint bottle contains 9 ml of lip tint. The description printed on the bottle is written in Korean. On the bottom you’ll find the production date of the lip tint. The Aritaum World Glam Coating Tint is provided with a doe foot applicator, which feels soft upon application. It is easy to use and allows you to create nicely coated lips.

Below, you can see how the tint looks swatched on my hand and lips. The color of the tint is a bright red with an orange hue. The orange hue is stronger than I expected, but it is a nice red shade in total. The texture of this lip tint lies somewhere between lip gloss and the milky lip tints. It is not sticky like a gloss, which I’m really happy about. Moreover, it gives your lips a soft texture. The pigmentation is really nice and covers the natural lip color. The scent of the Aritaum World Glam Coating Tint is fruity and the taste is the same. Some lip tints tend to taste a bit bitter, but this is not the case here.

Last but not least, the most important part when talking about lip products: How long is the lasting power of the Aritaum World Glam Coatint Tint? This tint lasts for up to 4 hours. It is waterproof to a ceratin extend- if leaves a stain on your lips even when drinking. When I swatched the lip tint on my hands and washed it off, the stain was still visible, too. The glossyness of the tint fades away after 3-4 hours, that’s when the soft feeling on your lips disappears and your lips feel normal/dry again. Of cource, this tint doesn’t survive any fatty foods either, but for a lip tint it shows a descent lasting time.

All in all, I love this tint. It became one of my favourites, especially when I go to work I love using it, because it stays long enough and I can reapply once or twice and that’s it…and even if I don’t, it leaves a natural stain and doesn’t look ugly while fading. If you are a lip tint lover – or lip product lover- I can recommend you to try the Aritaum World Glam Coating Tint. I think I will make sure to grab one or two other shades from this collection. you can buy this product for 14.99 US$ at ibuybeauti.

Review: Miracle Romance Sailor Moon Star Power Prism Eyeliner

One of the things I was really excited about this year was the new Sailor Moon Anime, which started a couple of weeks ago. On the occasion of Sailor Moon’s 20th anniversary not only the new Sailor Moon Crystal anime, but also a whole bunch of merchandise came to being, one of these being the Miracle Romance Sailor Moon Star Power Prism Eyeliner. I love Sailor Moon and I love eyeliners, so I simply had to buy it ♥

This pen type eyeliner is distributed by Creer Beaute and it is available in 2 different colors, black and brown. I ordered the black version, because this is what I usually use. Let’s start of with the most important point here: the packaging. and the main reason why I bought this. If you are a Sailor Moon fan, you know why this packaging is absolutely adorable and beautiful…it is exactly how you want this packaging to be, displaying a silhouette of Usagi, having a light pink packaging and flowers and ribbons all over.

The top of the packaging is sealed with a sticker for the 20th anniversary of Sailor Moon.

You can flip open the front and you’ll find some information and a picture from the old Sailor Moon anime. The descriptions all over the packaging are in Japanese.

The eyeliner pen has a light pink color combined with some Sailor Moon-typical ornaments. Removing the cap reveals the brush-type tip of the eyeliner pen.

The previous eyeliner pen I used and reviewed is Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner. The tip of both product is comparable. Both glide smoothly on the lids and are rubb proof. The pigmentation fades, but it doesn’t smear. Comparing the lasting time of the two eyeliners, I would say, that the eyeliner by Kiss Me Heroine Make lasts longer, whereas the Miracle Romance eyeliner dissapears more easily. The pigmentation of the Miracle Romance eyeliner is also weaker, but can be layered. Also, when using for the first time you have to shake the pen well. I found, that the pigmentation became better with each use and shaking procedure.

My final thought about this eyeliner is, that it is beautiful and enjoyable for someone who love Sailor Moon. Comparing the pigmentation and lasting power of this eyeliner pen to the Kiss Me Heroine Make eyeliner I reviewed previously, I would preferr the latter. Nevertheless, I don’t regret that I bought it, because it made me happy and reminds me of childhood memories ♥ I bought this from ebay for around 16 US$.

Review: Etude House I Need You Heart Sheet Mask

I know that sheet mask reviews are not the most exciting reviews, honestly, but I simply couldn’t pass on reviewing this adorable Etude House I Need You Heart Sheet Mask ♥ I recieved it as a gift with my last W2Beauty haul some of you might have seen on my Instagram. Actually, this sheet mask is part of the Etude House I Need You A-Z Sheet Masks and is labelled as “free gift” on the packaging.

Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adoreable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging (I also could not resist to order from their newest princess collection ~_~ ♥ ). Let’s go back to this sheet mask, which is, as I said, part of the I Need You A-Z sheet mask collection. The design of all the sheet masks from this line is lovely and designed with each letter of the alphabet. The Heart sheet mask here, is the only one with a pink heart on it. It has a 5 Berry Complex, which means it contains the extracts of 5 berries: blueberry, acai berry, rasberry, blackberry,and strawberry. Berries contain lots of antioxidants and vitamins and thus are beneficial for the skin.

If we have a closer look to the back side of the packaging, you can see, that the upper part is written in Korean, displaying also images of how to apply the sheet mask. The lower part is written in English. The ingredients are mainly green and yellow flagged according to COSDNA. The sheet mask itself has a berry-like fruity scent which is really nice. Since the cotton sheet is soaked well with the essence, it feels cooling and moisturizing while application. It is a nice and quick way to refresh your face inbetween, as all sheet masks are, and give it a final boost. I loved using this mask, although it doesn’t claim to have any additional benefits, it does what a sheet mask primarily is supposed to do: it gives your skin some extra hydration!

Unboxing: MeMeBox My Cute Wishlist

When MeMeBox released their first box named with the words “My Cute Wishlist” I knew that I have to get this box, despite the fact that I was planning to use up my current products first before buying new ones :D I was so happy about receiving this MeMeBox and I want to share my excitement about unboxing this box with you ♥ Let’s take a look inside this awesome box:

MeMeBox is a box service company, offering a wide amount of different beauty boxes. Unlike most western beauty boxes which have to be subscribed for on a monthly basis, MeMeBoxes can be preordered but that doesn’t force you to buy more than the desired box. They ship to many countries and the products they send in their boxes are mainly Korean. Apart from their monthly Global Boxes like the ones I reviewed previously (check out the links at the end of the post), they also have a huge amount of themed boxes, Mini Boxes, Boxes where you know what is inside, so called Superboxes with a higher value and so on…just check out their online store and you’ll find a huge selection of different boxes. Since they have become very popular within the blogger community they sell out pretty fast, but they bring up new beauty boxes so fast, that you cannot keep up with them anyways.

The MeMeBox My Cute Wishlist contains a selection of cute products with a beautiful or special packaging. The description of the box says:

“We’ve searched and scoured through the Korean beauty scene to find you all the beauty things adorbs and irresistibly cute! From miniature beauty trinkets to cute face makeup kits and skin care potions, these precious little beauty finds will make you “oooh” because of its trademark Korean charming packaging and “aaahh” because of how cute it makes you look. Carry around these beauty treasures wherever you go and make your friends green with jealousy!”

When I fell in love with asian makeup and skincare products it was mainly because of the beautiful and very girly packaging compared to western brands. This box is perfect for everybody feeling the same or having the same reason to buy products. The first thing I saw when opening the box was the product card with the description of the products inside (in English) and a sqeaking sound of joy when seeing the content:

Here is the content of MeMeBox My Cute Wishlist and it is a lovely content:

1. Pure Smile Neko Punch Point Pad Hibiscus & Lemon Grass (17 ml x 2) – box contains fullsize product worth 2 US$ each

These are moisturizing and sebum controlling pads enriched with a bunch of beneficial ingredients like hyaloronic acid, vitamin E, Collagen etc. You just put them on the areas of your face which need some extra care and leave it for a couple of minutes. I didn’t try these yet but I can imagine that it looks cute having some cat paws on your face :D

2. Pure Smile Muddy Girl (15 g) – box contains fullsize product worth 1 US$

This is a wash off type pack from mud and clay to smooth and purify your skin. It is in a heartshaped packaging and looks nice, but I didn’t try it. there were two different types which were randomly chosen for each box.

3. Beauty People Snow White Special Edition Season 2 (1.6 g x 5) – box contains fullsize product worth 54 US$

A adorable metal box conatining 5 creamtype eyeliner pencils. Each of the pencils is worth around 10 Us$ if you divide the the price among the five pencils. The color range is beautiful, because it is black, brown and gold and they contain some glitterparticles. The swatches I took were pretty long lasting despite washing my hands, so I’m looking forward to make a seperate review for this box. They also added a sharpener for the eyeliner pencils :)

4. Etude House Missing U Hand Cream (30 ml) – box contains fullsize product worth 5 US$

Finally, an Etude House product ♥ But if not in this box, where should it have been else?! :D The boxes contain randomly one of these four adorable hand creams. I received a pink dolphin with rose scented hand cream. since I love rose scent, this is exactly the perfect choice for me. There is a seal, a penguin and a panda, too. I would love to have all of these, just because of the packaging…and I would definitively reuse the packaging and transferr new handcream inside, if this one is empty :D ♥

5. Etude House Sweet Recipe Candy Stick (2 g) – box contained fullsize product worth 5 US$

These sweet lip balm remin me of christmas because of the sugar cane shape. The boxes contain one of three different versions. I received the “Oh! Orange Candy”. It has a orange scent and taste and feels like a good every day lip balm. It has a soft tint, too.

6. Kocostar Split End Therapy (8 ml) – box contained fullsize product worth 6 US$

This is a leave-in hair treatment and it has included a dotted ribbon for tying your hair, which makes it a worthy product for this box. I will review this item, too :)

7., 8., and 9. a;t fox Whitening Capsule Cream. Lifting Cream and and Moisturizing Gel Cream (10 ml x 3) – box contained fullsize product worth 6 Us$ each

These are my favourites of the box, apart from the Etude House handcream. The three mini creams have cupcake shaped containers, each in another color. Each of these is themed with another kind of tea and has a special purpose. I cannot wait to try these and I could imagine that these are great for travelling, too.

I’m really happy about this box because it fulfills all my expectations. All the products are fullsized, which is great, and there is a nice variation in products, too. The packaging of the products is adorable and I love the Etude House Missing U hand cream and the cupcake shaped creams. The colors of the pencil eyeliners is beautiful, too. I’m really happy and I do not regret that I broke my ban and bought this box. Review: Relevance Highlighter Tip

It’s one week since my last post, but unfortunately my internet broke down and I didn’t have any possibilty to upload any new posts. Nevertheless, I took a lot of new pictures for upcoming reviews and I’m happy that I can post one of these reviews today- moreover, it is a japanese brand and as you know, I love trying out new brands: Relevance Highlighter Tip will be topic of today’s post.

Relevance is a Japanese brand and honestly I didn’t hear about this brand until I received the package from Beautystar, a new online shop for japanese cosmetic brands which are hard to find elsewhere. Relevance belongs to Reinatural Pure Cosmetics and if you are interested in their products you can check out their (japaese) page >>here<<. The trend of highlightening your eyebag is very popular in asian countries, simply because it makes your eyes look more awake, younger and vivid looking. These all contribute in a more youthfull look and larger appearing eyes. The Relevance Highlighter Tip is one of the best selling items for this purpose.

The Relevance Highlighter Tip comes in a girly pink packaging with ornaments all around. There are three different colors available for this Highlighter Tip: pink, orange and yellow. I received the pink version of the Relevance Highlighter Tip from Beautystar for reviewing purpose and I’m really glad about the color. Pink toned highlighters look always more natural than for example white colored ones. The Highlighter comes in a pen-shaped form. the material of the pen is plastic and as the packaging it has a pink color and some ornaments on it. It looks lovely, but simply. The product description is unfortunately only in japanese, but as far as I know the product contains hyaloronic acid for providing moisture and indeed, this product doesn’t make your eyes feel dry at the end of the day.

Other than you would expect, it is not a pencil type highlighter, but it is a sponge-type applicator with the eyeshadow included in the cap. You can twist the cap (it feels like there is a spring inside the cap), and by twisting you dispense the eyeshadow on the sponge applicator. The color of the highlighter is a soft pink color with glitter/shimmer particles. The pigmentation of the eyeshadow is soft and not too opaque, so you can create a natural look. By adding more layers you can double the pigmentation.

If you look at the before and after pictures, the effect is not too strong on my eyes, which is caused by my dark cicles, but you can see that my appearance looks brighter and awaker in general. If you add conceiler before, keep in mind that this will make the sponge applicator dirty, since you use the sponge directly on top of it. The shimmer particles cause fall-off, unfortunatelly, and so the lasting power of this eyebag highlighter is not optimized for 24 hours, neither for 12 hours. I must point out that I don’t like that kind of glitter particles normally, but here it looks still appropiate for every day use. Also the size of the Relevance Highlighter Tip is perfect for the handbag, so I end up using it every day or every second day in turn with the Etude House Rose Drawing Show Eyeshadow Pencil, despite of the shorter staying power.

All in all, this is a nice alternative product for eyebag highlighteing. The sponge applicator is kind of unique and I love the twist mechanism for using it. The packaging design is cute and reminds of Etude House Rose Collection. Moreover, the size is travel-friendly. The downsides are the fall-off caused by the glitter particles and the short staying power as a result of this. If you love highlightening your under eye area you might want to check out this product. Review: Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask

As you might have read in my post about Wishtrend’s latest promotions, they do offer Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask as special gift in this month. I’ve tried this moisturising sheet mask myself and here is my impression on how it works on my skin.

Klairs is a Korean brand sold on Wishtrend. It is eco-friendly, claimimg to produce products which are animal-testing-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free, and articial-color-free. Their products adress people with sensitive skin and people who want to moisturize their skin. I reviewed the Klairs Illuminating Supple BB cream, which is one of my favourite BB creams so far, apart from Missha’s Perfect Cover BB cream.

It seems that Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask is very popular if you are looking for a moisturizing sheet mask. Its description says, that it contains half a bottle of essence, which sounds really amazing. The sheet mask is produced from 100% cotton, too, and it feels really soft. It is not separated through any additional plastic or paper in order to make it easier to unfold, but since this produces less waste, it is probably part of being eco-friendly. The ingredients list can be found on Wishtrend and also their description is very detailled as usual. The ingredients are mostly green flagged and there is only one preservative included (see at COSDNA). The ingredients list contains fragnance, but you barely smell any scent. It also contains fermented fruit juice. The front of the packaging is written in English, the back side contains Korean description. The packaging design is clean and reminds a bit of Kiehl’s cosmetics. The mask is soaked very well with the essence, but it doesn’t drip at all. Your skin feels very nicely moisturized and refreshed after using and it also absorbs into the skin after a time. I even could use makeup on top, which is not possible with some other masks. This mask is very recommendable for everybody looking for a moisturizing and mild sheet mask for every day. It isn’t too heavy or to strong and people with sensitive skin will probably like it, too. If you put it into the fridge before using it, it will give you an extra cooling boost. This sheet masks costs 1.99 US$ and is available at Wishtrend. You can also get it in larger amounts and you’ll receive extra free masks then.
