Review: MAXCLINIC Purifying Vitamin Oil Foam & Cloud Embo Massage Brush

20. November 2016

From the moment I started using the asian double cleansing method I loved it! Double cleansing is easy and really makes a difference in your skin condition once you use it for a while. For the method you use two cleansing steps: in the first one, you remove the makeup, usually by using an oil cleanser, in the second step you clean your face by a foam cleanser for example. For many people this sounds like too much, because it takes to much time, so combination products are always popular. I reviewed the MAXCLINIX Caviar Massage Foam Oil in the past and today I will review another similar product, the MAXCLINIC Purifying Vitamin Oil Foam. Additionally, I will show you the Cloud Embo Massage Brush which completes this cleansing routine. Both products were kindly offered to me by BNTnews.

MAXCLINIC Purifying Vitamin Oil Foam

Max Clinic is a Korean brand. Unfortunately, the description is only in Korean, but this explains probably, why this brand is rather unknown to people outside of Korea and even to many lovers of asian beauty products. The packaging design of the products is simple and neat and both products came packed in cardboard boxes.

MAXCLINIC Purifying Vitamin Oil Foam

The MAXCLINIC Purifying Vitamin Oil Foam comes in a sturdy plastic container with a pump. It has a clear, plastic protective cap, too. The pump dispenser is a bit inconvenient, because it is not the long type of dispenser, where you easily can put your hand below, but you’ll always have to hold the bottle at an angle, so you dispense the product into the middle of your palms. Other than this the packaging looks elegant and the material is not appearing cheaply, but rather sturdy.

MAXCLINIC Purifying Vitamin Oil Foam

This massage and cleansing oil has a thick oil/jelly texture when pumped out. The formula contains capsules, which probably contain the vitamins. In order to use this cleanser you first dispense one pump on your palms and massage it on your dry face. After massaging, wet your hands and continue massaging. The oil becomes a bit foamy, although it doesn’t generate huge amounts of foams. The cleansing oil is a clear, oil type (of course), yellow-ish colored product and smells nicely. I didn’t find any information about the ingredients…but the packaging says “natural ingredients”, so I hope that’s true.

MAXCLINIC Purifying Vitamin Oil Foam

While cleansing your face this product doesn’t make your skin feel dry. The pH though lies at 7 and is not suited for those people in need of low pH cleansers. I experiened that the cleanser removes most makeup, but not all of it efficiently. Since it is claimed to be an all in one product this is a bit disappointing. The skin itself feels clean though, but for removing all your makeup you will need eye-and lip makeup remover.

MAXCLINIC Purifying Vitamin Oil Foam

The best way to use this product is in combination with the Cloud Embo Massage Brush. This super soft brush has two sides: a V-Padding Massage side and the Cloud Embo side. It is suggested to apply the oil cleanser first with your dry hands, then use the V-Padding Massage side of the brush to massage your face. Then, with the wet brush side brush your face in circular movements.

MAXCLINIC Purifying Vitamin Oil Foam

The oil cleanser lathers up into a much nicer foam when used together with the brush. And the bristles of the brush are so soft and nice and are perfectly suited for sensitive skintypes too.

MAXCLINIC Purifying Vitamin Oil Foam

Once the brush has been used make sure to rinse it off with clear water, then squeeze it out and leave it to dry thoroughly. The embo brush will be as soft as during the first time you used it. I love it!

MAXCLINIC Purifying Vitamin Oil Foam

I must say that for a all-in-one product I am not totally happy with the MAXCLINIC Purifying Vitamin Oil Foam. The foam it creates without using the help of a brush is really few. Also, it is not able to remove your eye makeup properly. The Cloud Embo Massage Brush on the other hand is great! I love that it has a massage side and I love how soft it is. You can buy the cleanser from ebay for around 17 US$ and the brush for 20 US$.

Review: Oolu Orchid Emulsion and Toner

13. November 2016

Let’s continue with the reviews for the wonderful brand Oolu by Dr. OhKims: Today I’ll share my impressions with the Oolu Orchid Emulsion and Toner! First of all, who else loves orchids? Such a beautiful and exotic flower which is great in retaining nutrients and water and thus it is also popular in skincare. The Oolu Orchid Emulsion and Toner, which were sent to me by MeMeBox uses these flowers as key ingredients for their skincare here:

Oolu Orchid Emulsion and Toner

Oolu is a sister brand of Whamisa. If you know Whamisa you might already have thought about the resemblance in their packaging design and style. Both products are belonging to Dr. Ohkims Cosmetics. That is why both brands are focussing on natural cosmetic products and especially fermented plant extracts. The description for this brand stated at MeMeBox says:

Oolu Orchid Emulsion and Toner

“When plastic surgeons from Korea, the world’s leading nation in plastic surgery, create an organic skincare line, everyone ought to take note. The doctors behind Oolu, by Ohkims Cosmetic, believe natural beauty is the best beauty, so they curated choice floral leaves that help strengthen skin’s self-regenerating powers. A 1,656-hour fermentation process from selection to blending and steeping maximizes the natural benefits of these organic ingredients. Then the premium products, from toning mists to mask packs, are hand-made to ensure the highest quality. As they say, true beauty takes patience.”

Oolu Orchid Emulsion and Toner

I received a whole bunch of products from Oolu but I didn’t want to fit them all in one post, instead I divide the post into three parts starting with the Oolu Moisture Liquids, which I reviewed a couple of days ago and now continuing with the Oolu Orchid Emusion and Toner. Again, both products are beautifully packed in flowery cardboard boxes. The products themselves come in plastic bottles with metal screwing caps.

Oolu Orchid Emulsion and Toner

What makes Oolu cosmetics so special is that the key ingredient is preserved in the fluid products. For the Oolu Moisture Liquids there were jasmine and rose petals and blossoms inside the bottles. Here the Oolu Orchid Toner contains one single Orchid Flower. It is so pretty to look at! Also, the ingredients used in Oolu Cosmetics are Ecocert and from organic origin and they are free from animal testing!

Oolu Orchid Emulsion and Toner

Oolu Orchid Toner

Of course the signature color for the Oolu Orchid Emulsion and Toner is purple. The Oolu Orchid Toner is a liquid solution, almost like water with a light purple color. Toner is used after cleansing the face. You spread a bit into your palms or onto a cotton pad and pat it into your damp skin. I usually use my hands instead of a cotton pad, so I can benefit from the warms of my hands. The product tends to absorb more quickly then. The ingredients of the Oolu Orchid Toner are:

Orchid Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Helichrysum Italicum (Everlasting) Flower Extract, Symphytum Officinale Leaf Extract, Taraxacum Officinale (Dandelion) Leaf Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract, Bellis Perennis (Daisy) Flower Extract, Lilium Tigrinum Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Orchid Flower, Adenosine, Rosewood Oil, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Oil, Cedrus Atlantica Bark Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Geranium Maculatum Oil, Brassica Oleracea Capitata (Cabbage) Leaf Extract, Beet Root Red

You can check the ingredients on COSDNA, too. According to COSDNA all the ingredients are safe to use and green-labelled. As I said before, the ability of orchids to retain moisture and nutrition makes it a great ingredient for anti-aging and strengthening the skin’s barrier. Additionally, the Oolu Orchid Toner contains Hyraluronic Acid and Glycerin for providing the skin with moisture. Moreover, the toner features a bunch of plant extracts and oils. This is why the toner doesn’t feel like water, although it is a runny liquid. The oils make it feel richer and it feels more nourishing on the skin, but doesn’t make it greasy. In contrast to the Oolu Moisture Liquids the Oolu Orchid Toner doesn’t contain alcohol. The scent of the product is mild and flowery.

Oolu Orchid Emulsion and Toner

Oolu Orchid Emulsion

The emulsion also features the signature color of the Oolu Orchid line, which is a purple color. The Oolu Orchid Emulsion is a lotion-type, light cream. It has a more runny texture than thick creams and is perfect for daily moisturizing. It is used after the toner. If you have serums and essences you should use them after the toner but before the emulsion. The ingredients of the emulsion are listed below:

Orchid Extract, Corylus Avellana (Hazel) Seed Oil, Rice Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Symphytum Officinale Leaf Extract, Taraxacum Officinale (Dandelion) Leaf Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Shea Butter, Sorbitan Olivate, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Cetearyl Olivate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Adenosine, Rosewood Oil, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Oil, Cedrus Atlantica Bark Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Geranium Maculatum Oil, Brassica Oleracea Capitata (Cabbage) Leaf Extract, Beet Root Red

You can check the ingredients via COSDNA for their properties. According to COSDNA there are three potential irritants included, which are Cetearyl Alcohol, Jojoba Oil and Apricot Oil. If you know that you react to these ingredient make sure to patch test before you use them. Apart from this all the ingredients are safe to use and green labelled. Also here, the key ingredient is orchid extract with its anti-aging and smoothing properties. Additionally you will find mostly plant extracts and oils in the ingredients list. Although the texture of the lotion is very liquid and light it needs more patience until it absorbs into the skin. It needs a couple of extra rubs and pats as I discovered. Once it absorbs it doesn’t leave the skin sticky or greasy but simply hydrated. It has a pleasant flowery scent.

Oolu Orchid Emulsion and Toner

For the Oolu Orchid Emulsion and Toner I can say that both products are really nice. I love the fact that Oolu cosmetics uses natural and organic ingredients and mostly plant extracts. I also love their packaging, especially their cardboard box, design and the idea of the flowers in the solutions. I especially like the toner here, because it contains the oils and feels nice and smooth on the skin. In contrast to the Oolu Moisture Liquids it doesn’t contains alcohol either, pure essences and extracts instead, which is lovely! The emulsion has the downside that it really takes a bit longer to absorb and to rub it into the skin. Once it is absorbed it feels nice though! My second downside for the emulsion is the bottle. I hate it when emulsions come in bottles like this! I always prefer pump containers here! It makes it so much easier to use…Both products are available from MeMeBox for 28 US$.

What do you think of Oolu Cosmetics so far? Would you like to try them?

Review: Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil

7. November 2016

Good news for my fellow German kbeauty lovers: Whamisa skincare is now also available in Germany through the online store for natural cosmetics Najoba. I received the Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil for testing and since the temperatures are constantly dropping with the days it is always a good idea to have a facial oil at hands. Here is my impression:

Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil

The Korean brand Whamisa is relatively young and was founded in 2010 as certified natural cosmetics brand. Their key ingredients focus on plant based fermentation extracts. The brand name is written in Chinese characters which have the meaning of flowers and beauty and the use of four key components of natural materials in their products.  The attractive ingredients are combined with a beautiful packaging design in light colors. Some of the products are decorated with flower illustrations, as you can see here, too.

Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil

The Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil is made of 98 % of pure ingredients derived from nature. It provides deep moisture and absorbs into the skin without any stickiness according to the description. Fermented organic ingredients help the skin to protect itself from harmful environment and dryness by nourishing and creating a skin protective film. The facial oil is also supposed to improve the immunity of the skin by balancing the oil-moisture barrier. The skin is feeling more elastic, moisturized and brightened.

Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil

By the way, Whamisa products are formulated without Parabens/Synthetic/Chemical Preservatives, Artificial Dyes and fragrances, Petrochemicals, Silicon/Mineral Oils, EDTA, Animal Origin ingredients. Their products are environmental friendly and free from animal testing. The ingredients of the Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil are:

*Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, *Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, *Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, *Corylus Avellana (Hazel) Seed Oil, *Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Daucus Carota Satica (Carrot) Seed Oil, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil, *Lactobacillus/Chrysanthemum Sinense Flower Ferment Filtrate, *Lactobacillus/Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Ferment Filtrate, *Lactobacillus/Taraxacum Officinale (Dandelion) Rhizome/Root Ferment Filtrate, **Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, **Paeonia Suffruitcosa Root Extract, **Glycyrrihiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Aniba Rosaeodora (Rosewood) Wood Oil, Geranium Maculatum Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil

*Certified Organically Grown **Natural Perservative

You can check the ingredients also on COSDNA and you will see that the list is quite short, and that all the ingredients are green labeled. Since some of the oils can cause potential irritations or Acne please be sure to patch test before use. Apart from the plant-based oils like Argan oil, jojoba oil or Camelia oil the product contains also Lactobacillus fermented plant extracts. Ferment filtrate is nutrients-rich. It contains many vitamins, amino acids and proteins and helps to improve the moisture level of the skin.

Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil

The Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil comes in a milk glass bottle with an attached pipette for dispensing the oil. you can see the yellow colored oil through the glass. In contrast to regular oils like olive oil you will see that this oil is more fluid. It has a light flowery/sweet scent which reminds me of the Whamisa sheet masks I reviewed previously. In order to use this facial oil in your skincare routine you place 1-3 drops on your palms after your regular moisturizing skincare. The you rub the palms to your face and pat until absorbed. I leaves the warming feeling of oil on the skin while applying and feels nourishing directly. It absorbs after a few rubs and leaves a very adorable glow on the skin, without being greasy. Depending on your skintype the amount of the oil varies. You can also mix one drop or two with your regular moisturizer.

Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil

I love the Whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil. It is not as heavy as pure argan oil, which I used last winter when my skin was too dry, but it still gives that noticeable protective film to your skin. My only downside for Whamisa products in generall is the price, especially if offered by shops outside of Korea. Of course a high price is justified by the origin of the ingredients, since it is natural and organic cosmetics, and for non-Korean sellers they also have to add the costs for export. Still 45 € for 30 ml bottle of facial oil can be considered quite expensive, but be assured that there are facial oils on the market with less effective ingredients/mineral oil and so on sold for even more.

What is your favorite facial oil?

Review: Oolu Moisture Liquid Jasmine and Rose

6. November 2016
I still cannot believe that I’m part of the MeMeBox Brand Ambassador program and that they’ve already been so kind to send me so many exciting products I cannot wait to share with you. If you are on a “no-buy” month you should definitely skip reading this review because the following products from the brand Oolu by Dr. OhKims are beyond beautiful. This review is about the Oolu Moisture Liquid.
Oolu Moisture Liquid

Oolu is a sister brand of Whamisa. If you know Whamisa you might already have thought about the resemblance in their packaging design and style. Both products are belonging to Dr. Ohkims Cosmetics. That is why both brands are focussing on natural cosmetic products and especially fermented plant extracts. The description for this brand stated at MeMeBox says:

  Oolu Moisture Liquid
Oolu Moisture Liquid

I received a whole bunch of products from Oolu but I didn’t want to fit them all in one post, instead I divide the post into three parts starting with the Oolu Moisture Liquids. I was beyond happy to see that I received even two versions of the Oolu Moisture Liquid, the Jasmine version and the Rose version. These are also the two versions available on MeMeBox. On the official page of Ohkims cosmetics there is a third Moisture Liquid with Sunflower.

Oolu Moisture Liquid

Looking at the beautiful cardboard box packaging it is hard to imagine that the inside can even be more breathtaking, but it is! The bottles of the Oolu Moisture Liquid contain real flower petals and blossoms! It is so amazingly beautiful I cannot keep from looking at them. The description says, that to make one of those gorgeous bottles of Moisture Liquid it takes 1656 hours of preparation starting with collecting, drying, selecting and preserving process, blending, and so on. Although both Oolu Moisture Liquids are toners and are used after cleansing your face and before using other products like serums and cream both have distinct properties.

Oolu Moisture Liquid

Oolu Jasmine Moisture Liquid

The description of the Oolus Jasmine Moisture Liquid says: “Jasmine Bloom with botanical natural extracts help the skin toning, moisturizing and revitalizing. It increases the skin elasticity and clearness.” This yellow colored liquid comes in a hard plastic bottle with a metal lid. Inside the bottle you will spot beautiful tiny jasmine flowers. I made a video on Instagram showing how pretty the flowers look like. The ingredients of the Jasmine Moisture Liquid are listed on MeMeBox:

Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Flower/Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Caulerpa Lentillifera Extract, Artemisia Annua Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Helichrysum Italicum (Everlasting) Extract, Azadirachta Indica Leaf Extract, Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract, Rosa Rugosa Flower Extract, Magnolia Kobus Flower Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Jasmine Flower, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Alcohol

You can look up the ingredients at COSDNA, too. All ingredients except of Jasmine Oil are labelled green. Jasmine Oil can be irritant to some people because it is considered a very heavy oil, so please be sure to avoid the product if you react to it. Jasmine Flower and Leaf extract is the key ingredient of course and it acts not only as fragrance but also for moisturizing and anti-inflammatory ingredient. Apart from Jasmine, which is obviously a key ingredient according to the name, you will discover our old friends Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide in the list. Also another bunch of plant extracts are listed (eg. licorice) . Lastly, the toner uses alcohol for better absorption into the skin. If you have dry skin and are worried about alcohol here: there is no need to fear that the alcohol dries out your skin. The Jasmine oil and the bergamotte oil give the Oolu Moisture Liquid a light oil consistency, not heavy but still you will feel how nicely it glides on the skin and how it feels like more than just a bit of water and alcohol, although it actually only looks like water. I find it extremely moisturizing and skin conditioning. The jasmine scent is definitely recognizable and it feels like a spa event if you like the scent and apply it. A little goes a long way here. You can decide whether to apply the moisture liquid by hands or by cotton pad. I usually use my hands for applying. It has a slightly sticky feeling to it at first, which disappears after a bit.

Oolu Moisture Liquid

Oolu Moisture Liquid

Oolu Rose Moisture Liquid

The description of the Oolu Rose Moisture Liquid says: “Fresh Rose Petal with botanical extracts help the skin calming, deep moisturizing and increases the skin elasticity.” This pink colored liquid comes in a hard plastic bottle with a metal lid, like the Jasmine Moisture Liquid. Inside the bottle you will spot rose petals instead of jasmine blossoms. The ingredients of the Rose Moisture Liquid are listed on MeMeBox:

Rose Damascena Flower Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Taraxacum Officinale (Dandelion) Leaf Extract, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Iris Versicolor Extract, Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract, Caulerpa Lentillifera Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Rose Damascena Flower, Adenosine, Rose Damascena Flower Oil, Geranium Maculatum Oil, Brassica Oleracea Capitata (Cabbage) Leaf Extract, Alcohol

You can look up the ingredients at COSDNA, too. All ingredients are labelled green. Rose is surely the key ingredient here. Rose extract is antibacterial in first case, but also acts as fragrant. You will discover Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide in the list here, too. Also another bunch of plant extracts are listed. Lastly, the toner uses alcohol for better absorption into the skin. If you have dry skin and are worried about alcohol here: there is no need to fear that the alcohol dries out your skin. The rose oil and the wild geranium oil give the Oolu Moisture Liquid a light oil consistency, similar to the Jasmine Moisture Liquid. The scent is not an extreme rose heavy as some other products, but you will definitely recognize the rose scent. A little goes a long way here, too. You can decide whether to apply the moisture liquid by hands or by cotton pad. I usually use my hands for applying. It has a slightly sticky feeling to it at first, which disappears after a bit.

Oolu Moisture Liquid

If you are a sucker for special packaging design you will need to get the Oolu Moisture Liquid Jasmine and/or Rose. The flowers inside the bottles are super pretty. I also like the hard plastic bottles here. Furthermore, I’m quite a scent-loving person and these definitely have a scent to them. I really like both because I love rose and I love jasmine scent. Although the two toners claim to have slightly different properties I didn’t feel any difference between using these two. I really like them both. Oh, and did I say that Oolu products are free from animal testing?! Also, their pH is between 5-6. Each bottle of this precious Oolu Moisture Liquid contains 200 ml and retails for Oolus Jasmine Moisture Liquid . Also, since it is natural cosmetics it has to be used within 6 months after opening. What do you think about these two products?

Review: It’s Skin Power 10 Formula Propolis Ampoule

2. November 2016

Another propolis ampoule I’ve been trying since I finished up the COSRX Propolis Light Ampule: I received the It’s Skin Power 10 Formula Propolis Ampoule by Korean cosmetics online shop Qdepot and I’ve been testing it for quite a while now. Actually, I’ve been wanting to try something from the It’s Skin Power 10 Formula line a long time already, so I’m happy I was offered this opportunity.

It's Skin Power 10 Formula Propolis

It’s Skin is a Korean brand made by dermatologists at Seoul University and it was created to recover the natural power of the skin. The brand is not expansive, but on the same level like Etude House. They also have some cute designs for some of their products, so in general it is an interesting brand, especially their Power 10 Formula intrigued me for a long time. There are 12 or even 13 different kinds of ampoules reaching from Vitamins to Q10, and even yeast filtrate. I guess you will find every possible ampoule. I decided to try another Propolis Ampoule since I enjoyed the previous one already so much.

It's Skin Power 10 Formula Propolis

The It’s Skin Power 10 Formula Propolis Ampoule comes in a glass bottle with an attached pipette as lid. The bottle is yellow colored, but transparent enough to see how much product is left inside. Of course the key ingredient here is Propolis. Propolis is a resinous mixture collected from barks of trees by bees to seal their chambers with the larvae. Propolis has antibacterial and antifungal properties and thus protects the larva, but this also makes it useful in skincare, especially for troubled skin, but it also has skin conditioning properties and makes your skin feel smooth.

It's Skin Power 10 Formula Propolis

If you check COSDNA you will see that the ingredients list is not too long, which is quite positive. Apart from Propolis the ampoule contains honey, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide, which are all great and effective ingredients for anti-inflammatory effects, hydration and brightening. The majority of the ingredients is green labelled, too.

It's Skin Power 10 Formula Propolis

The It’s Skin Power 10 Formula Propolis Ampoule has a milky consistency, which is not totally liquid like a toner but shows some substance. It is easily blended in though and turns into a watery solution once starting to rub it in. It makes the skin feel smooth while applying and glides over the skin– not in the same way as oil, but in a silky smooth way, if you know what I mean. The scent is nice, too, and not overly strong. The ampoule absorbs quickly without a sticky or greasy feeling, but it leaves a nice glow on the skin. I use a few drops on my skin until I feel I have used enough to cover my face and neck.

It's Skin Power 10 Formula Propolis

It is hard to say which ampoule I would prefer, the one from COSRX or the It’s Skin Power 10 Formula Propolis Ampoule. Both are different in their consistency and in the feeling they leave on the skin. The COSRX serum has the shorter ingredients lists and doesn’t contain any potential triggers. Since it is a light ampoule it is probably suited better for sensitive skintypes. The Propolis serum from It’s Skin feels “heavier” without  being heavy on the skin, but the texture feels richer. I like both ampoules but if I had both at hands I would prefer the COSRX one for summer season and the one from It’s Skin for winter. You can buy the It’s Skin Power 10 Formula Propolis Ampoule from QDepot for 18.13 US$.

Q-depot is an online retailer for Korean cosmetics. They have already quite a variety of the most popular Korean brands and they keep adding products frequently. The site is easy to navigate, too. And they offer free samples for each order and free shipping for orders above US$ 49. They are committed to contributing 3% of their group’s net profit for social causes in different countries. So you can shop for your favorite Korean products and do something good, too. Also, Q-depot is having a promotion were you can get 5 US$ off your first order by using the code SW5OFF (orders +50 US$) or 10% off your first order using SW10OFF.

Review: Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion and Intensive Cream

25. October 2016

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / SKINCARE //

Today I will continue with the review of the Atoclassic Real Tonic skincare line which the overly lovely Jieun from Kokofash send out to me for reviewing purpose. Again my thanks to hear to give me so much time for the reviews! I really tested all the products thoroughly since May and I’m so happy to be able to write the reviews now. She sent me a total of 4 products, plus four different types of sheet mask, so I will make three separate reviews. I started with the Atoclassic Real Tonic Soothing Multi Cleanser and Soothing Origin Essence last time and today I will talk about the Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion and Intensive Cream.

Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion and Intensive Cream

Atoclassic is a Korean hanbang brand with more than 100 years of experience, developed by a Korean herbal medicine doctor family of three generations. They opened their clinic in 1912 and been devoted to treating skin diseases and troubles since 1997 and by now there are 15 clinics across Korea. The same ingredients for treatments used in these clinics (both internal and external) have been used to create Atoclassic skincare line. The Real Tonics skincare range thereby focuses on enhancing complexion in whole.

Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion and Intensive Cream

The design of the brands products is simple, and yet really beautiful! All the products have white containers with black/grey flower and plant illustrations. There is a rosegolden ring around the cap of the products which makes it even more elegant and beautiful! All the products are packed in separate cardboard boxes with the similar beautiful design. I was absolutely stunned when I opened the box! The Atoclassic Real Tonic skincare products consist of a cleanser, an essence, a lotion and a cream. A toner is still being developed. Furthermore, there are 4 different sheet masks available. Here are my reviews for the Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion and Intensive Cream:

Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion and Intensive Cream

Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion

The Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion is a lightweight lotion with a calming fragance according to the description. It is safe for all skintypes and also suited for under eye area, aswell for breastfeeding women. Below you can see the beautiful bottle of the Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion.

Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion and Intensive Cream

The ingredients of the lotion are listed below. I can spot a lot of plant based extracts when taking a closer look here.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Olivoyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Oleate, Glyceryl Stearate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Hydroxide, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, PEG-100 Stearate, Butylene Glycol, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Stearic Acid, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Sophora Angustifolia Root Extract, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Angelica Gigas Root Extract, Cnidium Monnieri Fruit Extract, Forsythia Suspensa Fruit Extract, Lithospermum Erythrorhizon Root Extract, Sanguisorba Officinalis Root Extract, Xanthium Strumarium Fruit Extract, Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Coptis Chinensis Root Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Disodium EDTA, Allantoin, Xanthan Gum, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Ceramide 3, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Biosaccharide gum-1

You can look up the ingredients on COSDNA >>here<<. There are some typical key ingredients for hanbang included in this lotion. Lithospermum Erythrorhizon Root heals jaundice, baby boils & ageing spots. It is also said to have antiviral properties and detoxes by promoting blood circulation. Korean Angelica helps pus/skin trouble to get easily extruded, promotes skin’s radiance, and helps to produce new blood. Elm tree / Ulmus Davidiana root helps reduce puffiness and reduces insomnia, sinus, ageing spot and freckles. All these sound kind of promising already. On top it contains also licorice, ceramide and macadamia seed oil. there are some yellow labelled ingredients though, although in the minority so please be sure to patch test before you use it.

Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion and Intensive Cream

Like the cleanser and the essence the lotion comes in a pump bottle. The bottle contains 200 ml of product, which is huge and lasts for quite a bit. The texture is quite thick for a lotion I would say. Therefore I loved using it as my main moisturizer. It makes the skin feel hydrated and glowy, but absorbs fast into the skin. Although it has a rich consistency it is not sitting heavily on the skin but fully absorbs.

Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion and Intensive Cream

Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Intensive Cream

The Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Intensive Cream is the last step of your skincare routine. It is suited as night cream. In the morning it can be applied in addition to your lotion in the eye area for extra hydration. It is mildly formulated to be suited for all skincare types again.

Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion and Intensive Cream

The ingredients of the Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Intensive Cream are listed below and also here the main components of the cream are plant-based.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Betaine, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Hydrogenated vegetable Oil, Lecithin, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Cetearyl Glucoside, Glyceride Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Vitris Vinifera Seed Oil, Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Sophora Angustifolia Root Extract, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Angelica Gigas Root Extract, Cnidium Monnieri Fruit Extract, Forsythia suspensa Fruit extract, Lithospermum Erythrorhizon Root Extract, Sanguisorba Officinales Root Extract, Xanthium Strumarium Fruit Extract, Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Coptis Chinensis Root Extract, Trehalose, Beeswax, Tri-C14-15 Alkyl Citrate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Limnanthes Alba Seed Oil, Imperata Cylindrica root Extract, Viscum Album Leaf Extract, Butylene Glycol, Stearic Acid, Olyacrylate-13, Polyisobutene, Polysorbarte 20, Caprylic/capric glycerides, Citrus Paradisi Fruit Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Panthenol, Lavendula Angustifolia Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Ceramide 3

You can look up the ingredients also on COSDNA >>here<<. There are similar key ingredients to the Calming Smart Lotion, but apart of these you will find more oils in this cream, like shea butter and macadamia oil and so on. These make the cream more rich than the lotion.

Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion and Intensive Cream

Other than the other products from the Atoclassic Real Tonic series, the Intensive Cream comes in a jar containing 50 ml. The jar comes with a plastic spatula for taking out the cream, which is great. Between the lid and the container is a second plastic lid. Compared to the already rich lotion this cream is even richer. It is definitely something for dry skintypes and for cold winters because it gives so much oils to your skin and protects it. It is too much for normal and oily skintypes, because the lotion fulfills already all the needs of moisture here. Since it is mildly formulated it needs a bit longer for absorption and has to be rubbed into the skin in circular motions to help the absorption.

Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion and Intensive Cream

I love the Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion and Intensive Cream. They are perfectly suited for dry skintypes and formulated as rich creams. I was surprised to see that the lotion was not the usual milky thin lotion but really a rich cream already. On regular basis the lotion would have been totally sufficient for me. The cream is so much more rich that I loved using it when my skin felt tight or super dry. I guess it will be great for cold winters. Both formulations can be used under the eye, too, which is great. The Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Smart Lotion retails for 52 Singapore Dollars which is around 38 US$ from Kokofash. The Atoclassic Real Tonic Calming Intensive Cream retails for 59 Singapore Dollars, which is around  42 US$. Kokofash ships also to US, Europe and Australia! What I really like about the store is that they offer you selected brands which are not at easily seen elsewhere in online stores. I really like how much effort is put into this online store. I hope you will stay tuned for the last reviews of the sheet masks from this skincare line, I really enjoyed using these so much, that I hope that you will share my excitement.

What is your first impression of this hanbang brand? Did you try anything from this brand already?

Top 10 Must-Try KBeauty Box | YesStyle

23. October 2016

YesStyle is probably one of the most widely known retailers for fashion and beauty online, especially when you are looking for something from asia. They have a wide selection of KBeauty products and recently they have made a list of their Top 10 Must-Try KBeauty Products 2016. I had the chance to receive one of their beauty boxes containing their Top 10 products for testing and I would love to share my opinion with you on these products.

Top 10 Must-Try KBeauty Box | YesStyle

YesStyle is the first online retailer to globally distribute a wide range of fashion, beauty and lifestyle products from Asia. Apart from their selection of Korean beauty products you will also find Japanese and Taiwanese products in their selection. Let’s take a look at the products from their Top 10 Must-Try KBeauty Products, which were by the way packed in a beautiful pastel colored box:

Top 10 Must-Try KBeauty Box | YesStyle

The Top 10 products are very versatile and reaching from skincare to makeup products reaching from brands that are well-known and brands that have a name amongst kbeauty enthusiasts.  The selected products are from Etude House, Tonymoly, Berrisom, Laneige, Tosowoong, Beauty People, and MacQueen. Below is a picture of all the 10 products from the selection:

Top 10 Must-Try KBeauty Box | YesStyle

In my past years of asian beauty product addiction I already tested quite a lot of products and surely some of the ones you will spot here have been in my stash and under testing previously. Still, since I want to keep you updated as good as possible, I will update and rewrite some of my old reviews of the products I tested in the past with new images and maybe also with a new impression. Bur first I want to share with you a quick first impression of all the 10 products.

Top 10 Must-Try KBeauty Box | YesStyle

I’ll try to keep the products thematically, so I will start with the skincare products, which can be categorized in the masks type.

Tonymoly I’m Real Sheet Mask

Of course a Top 10 KBeauty selection needs a sheet mask. YesStyle selected the Tonymoly I’m Real Sheet Masks as part of their favorites. I received the Tonymoly I’m Real Makgeolli Mask Sheet for Skin Purification. I reviewed these masks in the past and I loved the packaging design so much! I think I also tried the Makgeolli Mask back then, but I only reviewed the lemon and the avocado mask. The avocado mask was a real hit for me back then because it made my skin feel so nourished even on the next day. You can check my previous reviews >>here<< (Tonymoly I’m Real Lemon Mask Sheet) and >>here<< (Tonymoly I’m Real Mask Sheets). I’m hoping for a similar experience with the Makgeolli Sheet Mask, but I will let you know about the details.

Etude House Collagen Eye Patch

Apart from your face you also need to take special care for your under eye area. Eye patches are my life savers after a short night in the next morning. I really love my SNP Bird’s Nest Aqua Hydrogel Eye Patches. Now I had the chance to try the Etude House Collagen Eye Patches and also here I must say that it is such a nice feeling to have eye patches. These eye patches are not made from hydrogel in contrasts to the ones from SNP. There will be a full review in future, too.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

This sleeping mask is designed for your lips to make them feel super soft and hydrated the next morning. The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask has been on my wishlist for ages and so I’m super happy to be able to review this in more detail. I’m so curious myself, but I can already tell you that I heard so many positive things about this one.

Tosowoong Blackhead & Sebum Out Nose Pack

There are two kinds of people, those who love nose stripes and those who would never use them. I love them…at least occasionally! Also, my boyfriend always uses my nose stripes for himself. I can already say that he was impressed on how much stuff he got rid of with the Tosowoong Blackhead & Sebum Out Nose Pack. Since they are black you will see almost everything which comes off…sounds gross…and it is! But it works!

Top 10 Must-Try KBeauty Box | YesStyle

Let’s now take a look at the makeup products from the Top 10 Must-Try KBeauty selection from YesStyle.

Beauty People 10 Seconds Auto Pencil Eyeliner

I received a light color for the Beauty People 10 Seconds Auto Pencil Liner and it is really pretty and versatile to use for highlighting the eyes. If I’m not mistaken I never reviewed any products from the brand Beauty People so it is time to do this as quickly as possible. Review will be upcoming :)

Etude House Color My Brow

The Etude House Color My Brow is a eyebrow coloring mascara and it was one of the early products that I bought from this Korean brand. Since then they have changed the size of the product (it is larger now) and I think they have slightly altered the packaging design, too. You can take a look at my old review >>here<< (apologies in advance for the bad and poorly written reviews back then). I want to rewrite this review and update it with the new version I received here.

Top 10 Must-Try KBeauty Box | YesStyle

Berrisom Oops My Lip Tint Pack

I already have two of the Berrisom Oops My Lip Tint Pack and now this and I can definitely say that this is one of my favorites, too! These peel of lip tints will stain your lips like hell and the color is really long-lasting. It is a bit time-consuming compared to a regular lip tint, because you have to apply it first on your lips, leave it to dry, and peel it off before you are ready, but I love them. You can read my reviews >>here<< and >>here<< for the two shades I bought myself (shade “Virgin Red” and “Sexy Red”).

MACQUEEN Creamy Lip Tint

The MACQUEEN Creamy Lip Tint comes in a super adorable tiny matte milkglass bottle which is so adorable at first sight already. I heard some good things about it and so I cannot wait to share swatches and my full review on this. The pink color looks lovely, too. Review upcoming.

Top 10 Must-Try KBeauty Box | YesStyle

Berrisom Oops Tint Cheek Cushion

The Berrisom Oops Tint Cheek Cushion has been on my wishlist aswell, especially since I’m so in love with the Oops My Lip Tint. I have a similar cushion type cheek product from Too Cool For School which I like a lot so I hope that this will be similar.

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Cover & Bright Fit SPF30 PA++

The Etude House Precious Mineral BB Creams are probably one of the most known and used BB creams. My first BB cream was from Missha and I loved it so much that apart from samples I never had a full-sized tube of any Etude House Precious Mineral BB cream. The Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Cover & Bright Fit SPF30 PA++ is my first one now and I already used it a couple of times and liked it quite a bit. It has more a matte finish on my drier skin, but still does not make it appear flaky. It was nice to use a BB cream out of the tube after so much cushion bb cream craze. I will definitely write a full review for this one.

Top 10 Must-Try KBeauty Box | YesStyle

As you can see the Top 10 Must-Try KBeauty Products selected by YesStyle are quite versatile. You will find almost everything here and I can confirm that some of these have already been within my favorites before, too. I’m curious to try the ones I didn’t now so far and show you my impression on these. You can get the products from YesStyle of course and you will find the links and prices below:

Berrisom Oops My Lip Tint for 8.46 US$

Tony Moly I’m Real Mask Sheet for 3.71 US$

Review: Atoclassic Real Tonic Soothing Multi Cleanser and Origin Essence

3. October 2016

I do not own many hanbang cosmetic products, allthough I would love to. Usually, because of the high quality ingredients derived from traditional chinese medicine hanbang products tend to be more pricey. The dear and overly lovely Jieun from Kokofash was so unbelievably kind and send out a bunch of products to me for reviewing prupase, all by the brand Atoclassic. I’m really thankful, and even more because she gave me all the time I needed for writing the reviews without asking how long it might take. I really tested all the products thoroughly since May and Im so happy to be able to write the reviews now. She send me a total of 4 products, plus four different types of sheet mask, so I will make three separate reviews, starting with the Atoclassic Real Tonic Soothing Multi Cleanser and Soothing Origin Essence today.

Atoclassic Real Tonic

Atoclassic is a Korean hanbang brand with more than 100 years of experience, developed by a Korean herbal medicine doctor family of three generations. They opened their clinic in 1912 and been devoted to treating skin diseases and troubles since 1997 and by now there are 15 clinics across Korea. The same ingredients for treatments used in these clinics (both internal and external) have been used to create Atoclassic skincare line. The Real Tonics skincare range thereby focuses on enhancing complexion in whole.

Atoclassic Real Tonic

The design of the brands products is simple, and yet really beautiful! All the products have white containers with black/grey flower and plant illustrations. There is a rosegolden ring around the cap of the products which makes it even more elegant and beautiful! All the products are packed in separate cardboard boxes with the similar beautiful design. I was absolutely stunned when I opened the box! The Atoclassic Real Tonic skincare products consist of a cleanser, an essence, a lotion and a cream. A toner is still being developed. Furthermore, there are 4 different sheet masks available. Here are my first two reviews for the Atoclassic Real Tonic Soothing Multi Cleanser and Soothing Origin Essence:

Atoclassic Real Tonic

Atoclassic Real Tonic Soothing Multi Cleanser

The Atoclassic Real Tonic Soothing Multi Cleanser is a gel-type cleanser designed for all skin types, but especially for those people with skin troubles or sensitive skins…or even for pregnant people. With a light acidic pH it promotes the natural resilience of the skin and thus combats stress.

Atoclassic Real Tonic

Ingredients: Water, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Cocamidopropyl betaine, Chrysanthellum Indicum Extract, Potassium cocoyl glycinate, Lauryl Glucoside, Dipropylene Glycol, Codonopsis Lanceolata Root Extract, Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Algin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA , Xanthium Strumarium Fruit Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Leaf Extract, Angelica Tenuissima Root Extract, Pogostemon Cablin Leaf Extract, Poncirus Trifoliata Fruit Extract, Nardostachys Chinensis Root Extract, Lysimachia Foenum-graecum Extract

First of all, you see that the ingredients list is relatively short. 11 out of the 22 ingredients are plant extracts: Japanese Cypress Leaf Extract has soothing properties and Patchouli is giving the cleanser its scent. All the other plant, root and flower extracts have skin conditioning and restoring properties. You can look up the ingredients from COSDNA. you will also see that almost all ingredients are labbeled green. The ingredients contain algin, which is a potential irritant, so please make a patch test before using the product on your face.

Atoclassic Real Tonic

The Atoclassic Real Tonic Soothing Multi Cleanser comes in a large 200 ml pump bottle with a sturdy pacakging and a beautiful design. The head of the pump is short, so you have to take it into your hand to pump. The first time I used the product I had to pump a couple of times before it started working. Now, I use two pumps for cleansing my face. If you wear light makeup this can be used as your only cleanser, because it is mild and can be used on the eyes aswell to remove some makeup, but usually I would suggest you to use this cleanser after removing makeup. The lightly pink colored gel transforms into a soft and light lather and has a specific herbal scent. Actually, I never thought about patchouli as scent, but know since I wrote it down it has some similarities. At first the scent was a bit strange for me, but now, after using it for so many months I got used to it and really think that it is a relieving scent. A very gentle cleanser that doesn’t dry out the skin, but also doesn’t leave the skin greasy or leave the feeling of a film on the skin. The pH of the cleanser lies at 4, which is great if you are using actives in your skincare routine.

Atoclassic Real Tonic

Atoclassic Real Tonic Soothing Origin Essence

This gel-type restorative essence calms and nurtures the skin. Like the cleanser it is suited for all skin-types , but especially for those people with skin troubles or sensitive skins…or even for pregnant people. The essence has a light formulation and therefore can also be applied around the eyes without being discomfortable.

Atoclassic Real Tonic

Ingredients: Water, Chrysanthemum Sinense Flower Extract, Panthenol , Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Rehmannia Chinensis Root Extract , Polygonum, Multiflorum Root Extract, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Extract, Paeonia Albiflora Root Extract , Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract , Lycium Chinense Root Extract, Dictamnus Desycarpus Root Extract, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Angelica Gigas Root Extrac, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Kochia Scoparia Fruit Extract , Lithospermum Erythrorhizon Root Extract, Cinnamomum Cassia Bark Extrac, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Poria Cocos Extract, Atractyloides Japonica Rhizome Extract, Forsythia Suspensa Fruit Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract , Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, PEG-8, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Polyacrylate, Carbomer, Algin , Acrylates/C10-30, Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer , Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA , Triethanolamine

You can check the ingredients via COSDNA, too, and you will find that most of the ingredients are safe to use. The key ingredients is Chrysanthemum Sinsese Flower extract, which is rich in flavonoids and has skin soothing properties. Moreover you will find that Ginseng is also part of the ingredients lists. I love products containing ginseng, because it has so many versatile effects, reaching from anti-inflammatory to anti-aging properties! Also, panthenol and hyaluronic acid are mentioned which both have excellent moisturizing properties.

Atoclassic Real Tonic

Upon application the essence has a sticky touch, but it is not too strong. After a while the sticky feeling dissapears and it feels perfectly fine on the skin. The Atoclassic Real Tonic Soothing Essence contains 14 % active hanbang ingredients. The ingridients are listed above and you will see that the majority of the ingredients consists of the plant based extracts.

Atoclassic Real Tonic

Both products work perfectly well for my skintype (mostly dry skintype). Love how mild the cleaqnser is formulated and the essence works really nice also below makeup. The Atoclassic Real Tonic Soothing Multi Cleanser retails for 35 Singapore Dollars which is around 25 US$ from Kokofash. The Atoclassic Real Tonic Soothing Origin Essence retails for 40 Singapore Dollars, which is around  30 US$. Kokofash ships also to US, Europe and Australia! What I really like about the store is that they offer you selected brands which are not at easily seen elsewhere in online stores. I really like how mucxh effort is put into this online store. I hope you will stay tuned for the reviews of the other products from this skincare line, I really enjoyed using these so much, that I hope that you will share my excitement.

What is your first impression of this hanbang brand? Did you try anything from this brand already?

Review: Lafine Vegetable Foam Cleanser

21. September 2016

Here is the confession of a dry skin type person: I love foam cleansers! I know, foam cleansers usually tend to be more drying than gel cleansers or cleansing waters and I – as someone with dry skin – should be aware of it! Yet, I love the luscious and soft embrace of a good old foamy cleanser. Here is a review of my latest tested cleanser, the Lafine Vegetable Foam Cleanser.

Lafine Vegetable Foam Cleanser

Lafine is the first brand of Lamy Cosmetics, a Korean Cosmetics Company. Lamy Cosmetics is a Korean cosmetics company with 6 different brand. The brands are Renoma, Geo, Sortie, Mennen, Catalina Geo, and, the brand mentioned in this post, Lafine. I reviewed a couple of products from Lamy Cosmetics already, I even reviewed another cleanser by Lafine before, the Lafine Vegetable Deep Cleansing Cream. You can read my review >>here<< if you missed it.

Lafine Vegetable Foam Cleanser

Lafine Vegetable Foam Cleanser is part of the Lafine Vegetable line, which uses 5 vegetable ingredients for nourishing the skin: tomato, carrot, parsley, cucumber and water parsley. This is also displayed by the design of the cardboard box and the tube containing the foam cleanser. On the cardboard box you will also find the Korean and the English description of the product. The ingredients are also listed on COSDNA if you want to look them up. Although the product is 5 free (no animal oil, triclosan, paraben, benzophenon and talc), there are quite a lot of potential irritants and acne triggers stated in the list.

Lafine Vegetable Foam Cleanser

The vegetable ingredients are represented by tiny red and green granules in the product, which dissolve and release the nutrients (unfortunately, not visible in my swatch below). Tomato is known for its antioxidant effects. It contains vitamin C, B1, and B2 and have a high content in sugars (fructose/glucose). Cucumber is known for its detoxing properties because it contains mostly water. Apart from water cucumber also provides vitamin A and C. Carrots are also rich in anti-oxidants. Especially are they known for their vitamin A content and iron. Parsley is rich in fiber and brightens up the skin tone and water parsley contains vitamin C and minerals. Moreover the Lafine Vegetable Foam Cleanser contains Papaya Extract for a gentle exfoliation. The measured pH lies at 7 though, so it is not your ideal choice if you only use low pH cleansers. It builds a rich and soft foam though and cleans away nicely leftover makeup, resulting in a squeaky clean feeling of the skin. Here, I have to state, that it is quite drying on my skin after using it (as expected if you have squeaky clean skin).

Lafine Vegetable Foam Cleanser

Lafine Vegetable Foam Cleanser does a good job in really cleansing your face from oils. I have to state though, that it is quite stripping and makes the skin feel squeaky clean. If you enjoy cleanser like this (and have oily type skin) you should have a look into it. It has a pH of 7, so if you are looking for a more acid cleanser for using actives this is not your best choice. The Lafine Deep Vegetable Cleaning Cream has a pH of 5 though. The Lafine Vegetable Foam Cleanser is available from KMall24 for 12.73 US$ (additional shipping costs) or from amazon.com for 23.99 US$ (includes shipping) (also by KMall24).

Review: Jungle Botanics Natural Body Glow Nutshell Scrub

6. September 2016

Here is my promised review about the Jungle Botanics Natural Body Glow Nutshell Scrub which was sent to me by Wishtrend. I talked about the hair care products from this newly launched brand Jungle Botanics previously, and all in all I am very pleased with this new brand and the products I tested. Here is my impression, not about hair care, but about body care:

Jungle Botanics Natural Body Glow Nutshell Scrub

Jungle Botanics is a brand created by Wishtrend. According to its description it brings to you the vitality of the green jungle by combining advanced technologies  with natural ingredients. So far there are three products available from this brand: the Jungle Botanics Forest Leaves Cooling Shampoo and Warming Treatment and the Natural Body Glow Nutshell Scrub.

Jungle Botanics Natural Body Glow Nutshell Scrub

I love body scrubs! Especially, when I feel my skin is dry and I have flakes of dry skin clinging around there is nothing better than removing those unwanted flakes with a good body scrub and use a rich body moisturizer afterwards! Also, if you are using spray tan or similar a good body scrub is your best friend! Body scrubs are designed to give you smooth, glowing and healthy skin!

Jungle Botanics Natural Body Glow Nutshell Scrub

The ingredients of the Jungle Botanics Natural Body Glow Nutshell Scrub are listed below and you can check them via COSDNA, too! You can see that the scrub uses walnut shell powder for achieving a perfect and environmental friendly scrub of your skin. So no microbeads here! Yei! The scrub comes in a beautiful bronze/brown tube packaging and contains 250 ml. The product has a soft consistency with very fine walnut shell particles visible. The Walnut Shell Powder is round-cut and fine as sand and doesn’t hurt the skin. Therefore it is non irritating and suited for more sensitive skin types, too.

Ingredients: Water, Juglans Regia (Walnut) Shell Powder, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, TEA-Lauryl Sulfate, Propylene Glycol Laurate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Fragrance, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Oleyl Alcohol, Sodium Chloride, Cocamide DEA, Triethanolamine, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Carbomer, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Sucrose, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Mannitol, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Pentaclethra macroloba seed oil, Garcinia Indica Seed Butter, Bertholletia Excelsa Seed Oil, Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter, Tocopheryl Acetate, Titanium Dioxide, Mica, Butylene Glycol, Origanum Vulgare Leaf Extract, Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Extract, Moringa Oleifera Leaf Extract, Malpighia Emarginata (Acerola) Fruit Extract, Gaultheria Procumbens (Wintergreen) Leaf Extract, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Extract, Crocus Sativus Flower Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Flower Extract, Achillea Millefolium Flower Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Prunus Persica (Peach) Kernel Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Hippophae Rhamnoides Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Gossypium Herbaceum (Cotton) Seed Oil, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Oil, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Pseudozyma Epicola/Soybean Flour/Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil Ferment Filtrate, Tin Oxide, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, CI 77491

The ingredients list contains cacao seed butter plus 10 other plant derived oils. Moreover it contains Pseudizyma epicola ferment filtrate. Also here, the majority of the ingredients is green-labelled, but still there are some potential irritants and triggers which should be considered before using them, especially for allergic people. There is a red-labelled ingredient, too, which I discussed in one previous review of the Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad, the Cocamide DEA. For rinse off products it is safe to use, but also depends on the concentration. So please be sure to patch test before using it.
Jungle Botanics Natural Body Glow Nutshell Scrub

The Jungle Botanics Natural Body Glow Nutshell Scrub has a mousse texture, which comes with a bronze color (fits to the packaging) and tiny granules, which appear like sand first. They allow a very fine and soft scrub, but also melt away nicely on the wet skin and even form some foam while rinsing. The smell of the product is very nice, but hard to describe for me.

Jungle Botanics Natural Body Glow Nutshell Scrub

I love this body scrub and I almost used it up already. My bf uses it aswell, so it seems it will not be long-lasting. The best part is of corse that it is free from microbeads! Jungle Botanics Natural Body Glow Nutshell Scrub retails for 23.90 US$ from Wishtrend. If you want to check it out don’t forget to check out the Wishtrend monthly vouchers in order to save some money on your order and get freebies. I also have a list on all the products I reviewed from Wishtrend there. Also keep in mind their friend-referral program: You can receive a 5 Us$ referral coupon if you use my invitation code 17939205 upon registration and you’ll receive this voucher immediately. There will be a specific field in your registration form called “friends invitation program” where you can put the code mentioned above. This way new customers can safe 5 US$ which is a great possibility to safe some money.
