I received a few items from TesterKorea within the frame of their Beauty Tester Event. Today, I want to talk about the Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow. When it comes to brow products I prefer pencils to be honest because they are precise and quick to use. Nevertheless, I give over brow products a try from time to time. This Double Proof Brow is a 2in1 product with brow ink and brow mascara combined.

First, some information about TesterKorea: if you know me and my blog for some time you will know that TesterKorea is my favorite online retailer for larger KBeauty hauls. I’ve purchased products from them many times and they never failed me. Also, they are quite popular for offering many free samples and having a LARGE variety of samples for sale as well. If you do not know a specific product and you want to test it I can recommend you TesterKorea. Also, they have a huge amount of different products from many brands, so you can be sure to find what you are looking for in most cases. Unlike other online retailers they do not offer free shipping, though, but their shipping is based on weight. The cheap prices of the products themselves totally balances out the shipping costs in my eyes – especially for larger hauls. They even have a specific topic where you can request a product if it is newly launched. They are also quite fast in listing the latest products from most brands. Considering the fact that I know they are a reliable retailer and have a good reputation makes me even more happy that I’m part of their new Beauty Tester round-up.

Too Cool For School is a Korean brand, known for a unique packaging design. Their products are in the mid-pricey region and slightly more expansive than Etude House, for example. I have reviewed a bunch of their products in the past and the Too Cool For School Artclass By Rodin Contour is my favorite compact pact when it comes to contouring. The Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow is a double-lasting brow mascara and ink to create cleaner and more refined brows that last double-time according to the description. There are three different shades available called Natural Brown, Ash Brown, and Light Brown. I selected Ash Brown (02) because it seems to fit most with my black eyebrows according to the promotional pictures.

The Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow is designed with two caps, one for the brow ink, and one for the brow mascara. In a first step, the brow ink is used to define the shape of the brows and fill in the gaps. The applicator is a sponge-like applicator that reminds me of lip tint applicators. The brow mascara comes with a classic brush and is step 2 for adjusting the color of your own brow hair to the color of the brow ink.

The color is a nice ash brown, very light and natural. Its color is water- and smudge-proof once tried, too! Unfortunately, the brush applicator for the ink is not very precise and convenient to use for me, since I’m used to pencils. I couldn’t manage to create a decent brow look with it. Also, the ash brown shade of the mascara is too light to show off on my black brows.

Unfortunately, the color I picked for the Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow doesn’t show up on my brows visibly, so this one was a miss for me. I will try to apply the ink with another brush in future and see whether the result is more promising. Regarding the staying power this brow product is great and will last you all day! If you have lighter or less dense brows than I have you might want to check these out!

Review: Bonnie Choice Eyebrow Pencil & Brush

My favorite quick and easy product for beautiful eyebrows is eyebrow pencils. I love especially the ones with a soft texture and good but not too prominent color pay-off, and of course, they should be long-lasting, too. I was offered the Bonnie Choice Eyebrow Pencils and an Eyebrow Brush for reviewing by Born Pretty Store and here is my impression:

Born Pretty Store is an Asian-based online store selling very affordable products, reaching from accessories to make-up and beauty products. They have a super huge amount of all kinds of nail art products and tools. I have tried many of their nail art products in the past and the products were good and affordable. >Here< are some of the products I reviewed before. I’ve been asked by the very nice people from Born Pretty Store, if I can try some of their new makeup products from their brand Bonnie Choice. I selected these two Bonnie Choice Eyebrow Pencils and a double-sided eyebrow brush from the same brand.

The Bonnie Choice Eyebrow Pencils are automatic eyebrow pencils that are waterproof and long-lasting. There are 6 different shades available and I chose shade 01 and shade 05, a black and an ashy brown tone. I have black eyebrows and any lighter shades will look quite strange, but these two seem to fit according to the swatches according to their product description.

The packaging of the products is simple and neat, nothing special. All the products have a signature black color and the name of the brand. Each of the pencils came packed in a cardboard box with the ingredients listed.

The Bonnie Choice Eyebrow Pencil has two sides: one containing the bullet, which is rotatable, and the other side a brush protected by a cap. The bullet has a triangular shape and is perfect for designing eyebrows precisely. The brush is suitable for brushing the eyebrows and does its job in a good way.

The swatches of the two eyebrow pencils show off distinct colors as I expected. They are perfectly pigmented for creating a natural eyebrow look. The color stays in place after rubbing – but only to a certain extent, of course. I would not say that it is 100% waterproof, but it will last you all day. From the two colors shade, 01 is the shade to go for me, although shade 05 can also be used, but doesn’t blend in so naturally as shade 01. You can see the swatches below, 01 on the left, and 05 on the right.

I also received an eyebrow dual-sided brush together with the two pencils. This eyebrow brush has an angled brush on one side and a helical comb on the other side. This brush is perfectly suited if you have an eyebrow palette that doesn’t come with any brushes. The angled brush is perfectly designed for creating a nice shape with your eyebrow palette, and the brush can be used to brush your eyebrows in the desired shape. Far more important is, that it is very affordable!

All in all, we have a couple of very decent and affordable makeup products here, that will help you to achieve a nice and groomed eyebrow look. If you have been looking for cheap, but good eyebrow products go for the Bonnie Choice Eyebrow Pencils! I really like the texture and the natural color pay-off. I personally have enough brushes, but if you are looking for a cheap and useful brush I can also recommend the Bonnie Choice Dual Eyebrow Brush.

Using brow pencils on your eye brows makes such a difference in your whole appearance and yet many people here in Germany do not dare to use them, because they fear it could appear to much like painted. Together with the Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolors I reviewed previously I also received all shades of the Revlon Colorstay Brow Crayon from the German drugstore Rossmann. I think you might be interested in the swatches for these brow crayons, because they could be really an opinion if you want a very subtle and natural look!

As I said in my last Revlon post, I’m happy to have Revlon back in German drugstores. After many years of abstinence people can now buy Revlon products in the German drugstore chain Rossmann .Welcome back, Revlon!

The Colorstay Brow Crayons are thick brow crayons containing wax, that melt down to a powdery finish when applied. They are supposed to be waterproof and last for 24 hours.

The Crayons are available in 4 different shades:

305: Blonde

310: Soft Brown

315: Dark Brown

320: Soft Black

As you can see from the swatches below (from left to right: 305, 310, 315, 320) the color payoff of the crayons is very soft and powdery. Although it is a crayon it has a very subtle and powdery finish. The colors are perfect to create a soft look. The brightest color 305 barley shows up on my skin, so it may be a great choice for very pale skintypes and fair hair. Even soft brown will be a good option for many people with blonde or light brunette hair. In terms of staying power the swatches are resistant to rubbing, too. I couldn’t check if they last for 24 h yet though.

For me personally, having black and dense eye brows, these crayons are too soft in terms of color payoff. On the other hand I’d say that these are perfect for beginners in terms of eye brow make up, because the soft and powdery finish doesn’t show errors too much. If you never have used any brow pencil you definitely have to try out one of these!

Review: BEIGE CHUU Hard Finish Wood Pencil Eye Brow

I do not have many eyebrow products, since this is one of the things I only repurchase if used up, nevertheless I discovered that there are many differences between the different brands. Apart from the different brands there are also different types to enhance or fill in your brows like powders, pencils or eyebrow mascaras. The most widely known product is the eyebrow pencil though. Today I’m showing you the BEIGE CHUU Hard Finish Wood Pencil Eye Brow, which I received by BNTnews for reviewing purpose this month.

BEIGE CHUU, formerly known as BEIGE only, is the cosmetic brand of the online retailer CHUU. They have a range of clothing and accessories, but also cosmetics products and their slogan is “I know you want to kiss me”. I’ve been following BEIGE CHUU for a while on Instagram and I’ve been curious about their products to be honest. The BEIGE CHUU Stick Foundation I reviewed yesterday is the first product I’ve been trying and here is the second product now:

This eyebrow pencil doesn’t need much of description since it is really only a piece of wood pencil with a plastic cap. No additional brush, no included sharpener, simply an eyebrow pencil made from hard wood.

The BEIGE CHUU Hard Finish Wood Pencil Eye Brow doesn’t even come sharpened in first place, which makes it special. Instead you can sharpen it by yourself. In the picture above I sharpened it using a normal sharpener. But then I saw the instruction on the product page showing how to sharpen these. This is great for people who want to sharpen the pencils by themselves, because they want a special flatness for example. You can decide how flat or round you want your eyebrow pencil. Below is my first try sharpening it, and as you can see I’m not much talented…and my blade was not sharp enough anymore :D But it was definitely fun to try it, although my pencil shrunk very drastically during my trial :’D

As the name suggests, this eyebrow pencil has a hard texture. It only gives a light pigmentation, too, and you won’t be able to accidentally overdo your eyebrows since the color is really soft. The dark brown color was perfect for my dark brows. The pencil is available in 5 shades totally.

The BEIGE CHUU Hard Finish Wood Pencil Eye Brow will be a good choice for anyone who wants to customize their eyebrow pencil and who like a natural finish. The soft texture of the hard type pencils are good for people who try out pencil eyebrows for their first time, but the sharpening with the blade needs some practice. Review: Etude House Tint My Brows Gel | TesterKorea

I love Etude House’s eyebrow products! I’ve been using the Etude House Color My Brows and I’m still using the Etude House Perfect Brow Kit, and the Etude House Tint My Brows Gel is the newest addition to my collection. As I announced via Instagram I’m honoured to be part of TesterKorea’s Real Tester, who offered me this product for reviewing purpose, amongst some other products I cannot wait to share with you.

Let’s start with the review for the Etude House Tint My Brows Gel: The Korean brand Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adorable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging…Looking at the packaging of the Etude House Tint My Brows Gel it appears simple, but yet feminine. The combination of the gray-brown color and the pink makers it look adorable in a way. The product comes in a cardboard box which shows the Korean and English description. The product is one of the newer products from Etude House. The gel comes in 3 different shades and works similar to lip tint like the Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack, that means you apply a layer of the gel, leave it to dry and peel it off after a while. This new-concept eyebrow gel tint is designed for a long-lasting eyebrow makeup.

The three shades available are #1 brown, #2 light brown and #3 gray brown. I chose gray brown, because I have naturally black eye brows and I think the gray brown will suit my eyebrow color best. The ingredients of the Etude House Tint My Brow Gel are harmless according to COSDNA. There are minor irritants, but no bothersome ingredient. And although the product is made for simply tinting your brows it contains some plant derived ingredients with anti-inflamatory, antioxidant and moisturizing properties. As I said before, the Etude House Tint My Brows Gel works like a kind of non-permanent tattoo. The bottle reminds of a liquid eyeliner and comes with a thin brush-type applicator. The gel has a sticky consistency and reminds of brown colored glue. The brush is thin enough to create proper outlines for your brows. Below you can see how the gel looks when swatched on the back of my hands. First you apply a proper amount of the gel. After a while it will start to dry. When you peel off the dried product you will see that it stains the skin. After 1.5 h waiting the stain is already properly visible and shows in a light gray brown. After one day (including washing hands and showering) the stain is still visible, but is looks more light and the color changed to a light yellow-brown.

When using the product on your eyebrows Etude House advises you to trim your eyebrows first and not to apply skincare products or makeup. Then you should apply a liberal amount according to the desired shape of the eyebrow. Dry the gel for at least 2 hours. For stronger coloration you can apply the gel before going to bed at night and remove it the next morning. After the gel dried completely you can remove it starting from the tail of the eyebrow, but don’t be too forceful. Etude House also says to not use a cleansing product (product with detergents) or apply force on the eyebrow area within 24 hours of using the product. Below I applied the Etude House Tint My Brows Gel on my eyebrows. As you can see, my eyebrows are dense and very dark, but I have some spare areas at the front and on the arch of my eyebrow. I applied the gel according to the desired shape of my eyebrows and waited for 2 hours. You can see that the spare areas look slightly more filled, but it doesn’t look too strongly pigmented and not unnatural either. The effect is comparable to a light brow powder, giving a natural finish.

Do I like the Etude House Tint My Brows Gel? Yes, I do, and I think people with spare eyebrows or very bright color of eyebrows will like this product a lot! It looks natural and it is long-lasting. The downsides are that you have to be patient and maybe you need to practice a couple of times before you know how to paint your desired eyebrow shape. The gel contains 5 g and depending on the thickness of the layers you apply on your eyebrow it will last for a while. The price for the gel is not expansive either, so it is worth a try, especially if you love using eyebrow products. If you are already too lazy to use an eyebrow pencil or powder this product will not make it any easier or quicker though. The product retails on TesterKorea for 7650 Won, which is around 6.50 US$.

Review: Etude House Perfect Brow Kit

The Etude House Perfect Brow Kit has been my first eyebrow product and it is still the one I’m using the most. Many people neglate their brows, but I assure you it makes a huge difference whether you care and groom your brows or not. Not only grooming is important, but also shaping and filling parts of your eyebrow. Koreans really have a thorough eyebrow routine and thus there are so many products available. In contrast to western eyebrow products, which tend to be too pigmented, you can create really natural look with Korean eyebrow products.

Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adoreable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging…The Etude House Perfect Brow Kit comes in a pink cardboard box illustrated with bows,ribbons and lace pattern all around. I fell in love with it just because of the packaging again. ♥

On the backside of the packaging you can see a Korean description for the Etude House Perfect Brow Kit. It is quite easy and understandable because of the little illustrations and no need to be able to read it. :D Also an English description is provided on the side of the box.

The Etude House Perfect Brow Kit is a brow-grooming kit containing 2 eyebrow colors and a highlighter. The kit comes in a solid black (it has a hint of pink though) plastic case with a mirror and a screw brush (or spooley) for arranging the eyebrows, a wide brush for filling in needed eyebrows and for high-lightening and a diagonal/angled brush drawing the eyebrow tail. It is super easy to open the case and to close it without being too easy to fly open while inside a bag for example. The brow colors are not strongly pigmented which makes it perfect to create natural brows. They are powdery and make it easy to fill the gaps between your eyebrow hairs. The highlighter is very sheer, too and just has a hint of shimmer and is really natural, too. Applying the highlighter below your brow’s arch gives it a pretty lift. The mirror and the little brushes are really handy and make the whole kit perfect for travel and handbag if wanted.

EDIT: I’ve been using this eyebrow kit for 2 years now and I have just barely reached the pan with the highlighter and the light brown shade (make sure to disinfect the surface regularly and clean the brushes once in a while, or you will not be able to keep such products for long time because of possible germs). So the amount of this tiny palette is more than sufficient. Furthermore, the highlighter and the light brown shade are also nice shades for contouring your nose for example. I loved using the highlighter on other parts of my face, too.

My eyebrows are naturally very dense and black and the Etude House Perfect Brow Kit gives them really a very natural and subtle groom. It doesn’t make me look artificial or anything, but fills the gaps within my eyebrow hairs and gives them a nicer shape. Using the highlighter makes your eyes looking more vivid and bright, too. It can be used for contouring as well. I recommend this kit for everyone who is looking for a travel friendly kit for eyebrows, which makes them look nice and really natural. Review: Etude House Color My Brows Rich Brown

Here is a review for Etude House Color My Brows in color Rich Brown. I have pitch black eyebrows and they are naturally very dense. Since my hair is dark brown, and usually I’m coloring them in lighter brown shades I wanted to achieve a slightly brighter eyebrow color. I was eyeing this product from Etude House therefore since it is available in 3 shades: Rich Brown, Red Brown and Light Brown (EDIT: available in 5 shades by now).

What it is:

A mascara only for eyebrow to keep its layer neat and give natural but urbane colors.
What it does:
– Hide dark & black brow: Providing natural and clear brow colors by hiding its own dark color.
– Easy & Quick brow coloring: Quickly dried to make brow layer and color fixed even while re-applying.
– Brow care: Allantoin, Beeswax, Carnauba wax provide nutrition and moisture on skin and brow.

How to apply
– Lightly touch eyebrow in the opposite direction of eyebrow to layer color.
– Comb towards eyebrow layer to make them neat. Make brow head’s layer to stand.

Beauty Tip
– In case of lack of eyebrow hair, use eyebrow pencil to make eyebrow line first and use Color My Brow: It makes naturally clear eyebrow.

As you can see from the picture below it looks like a mascara brush. You can easily color your eyebrow hair using the brush. The packaging is simple, but yet feminine and girly with the scallops and pink. It does a good job in coloring my black hair to a dark brown.

The color is matte on the brows and I could create a discrete brighter color of my brows without looking too unnatural. At the beginning you have to be careful not to color the skin around your brows, but even if you do you can correct it easily with a Q-tip :D The only thing I have to remark (at least with my natural dark brows) that it wears of during the day. In the evening the brows look darker again. the bottle contains 4.5 g and costs around US$ 7.80 at the Etude House Official Store. You can find this product on W2Beauty for US$ 9.24.
