Graveyard: November – February Empties 2015/2016

1. March 2016

My last emties post was back in October! So here is a long post about my November – February Empties 2015/2016 this time. I hope  this can give you an idea of which products I really liked and didn’t and which I would love to repurchase.

November – February Empties 2015/2016

  1. Moonlab Real Cooling Thermometer Mask – I loved these! I would really like to repurchase them as well, but I still have a huge amount of sheetmasks, so it will take some time until I have the chance. Read my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes!
  2. Cossu Body Ade Rose – This body wash smells so amazing, given the fact that you love the scent of roses. The body wash was part of a Cleopatra themed MeMeBox and I loved using it. Unfortunately, the pump was not working properly, which made it hard to use. It was labelled with a price-tag of 29 US$, which I’m still doubtful about. For a cheaper price I would consider repurchasing it. Repurchase? Maybe.
  3. COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner – A very good toner which I can recommend you to try. I didn’t repurchase it because I wanted to try something else, but still I can say that there are many bloggers whoc love this toner. See my review >>here<<…Repurchase? Yes.
  4. Fairydrops Platinum Mascara Film Type – I enjoyed using it, but it started to clump quite fast. It does a good job in legthening and curving the lashes, but it doesn’t give the amount of volume I’d like to have. Here is my >>review<<. Repurchase? No.
  5. Dove DermaSpa Goodness³ Body Lotion – This bodylotion has a nice scent, but unfortunately it starts peeling and doesn’t really sink into the skin. Read my review >>here<<. Repruchase? No!
  6. Too Cool For School Egg Mousse Pack – I love Too Cool For School’s packaging design, no doubt about that, and this pack made the skin tightened and smooth, but I couldn’t use it too often because of my dry skin. People with oily skin might love this, or if you have dry/combination skin apply it only on your T-zone. Here is my >>review<< Repurchase? Maybe.
  7. Nivea In-Shower Make-Up Remover – This didn’t work for me. I tried it in the shower, I tried it on its own. It simply doesn’t work the way it claims, I still have panda-eyes after using it and my makeup isn’t removed. Repruchase? No!
  8. Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion – The first Cushion I used up, after flipping the cushion over and over and getting out all the mini-bits from this awesome bb cream. I still have two refills, so I’m really happy and can advise you to give it a try, especially in cold seasons. Read my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes!
  9. Shiseido Extra Gentle Shampoo For Dry Hair – A good shampoo, which didn’T feel drying on my hair, but still I preferr the Shiseido Tsubaki Shampoo over this one. Repurchase? Another shampoo from Shiseido maybe.
  10. Lush The Olive Branch – A mediterranian smelling shower gel with a herbal scent. This was nice, but a kind of more manly scent. Repurchase? Probably not this one exactly. November – February Empties 2015/2016
  11. HIPP Shampoo and Showering – I bought this for the obvious reason of the Seal packaging! It’s kid’s shampoo and has a nice baby-powdery scent and is gentle. Repurchase? Yes!
  12. Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner Pen – I love this pen! A pitty the pretty ornaments were vanishing by the time. Read my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes, but there are so many other brands to try.
  13. Avène Very High Sunprotection 50 + – This is a really heavy sunscreen and it leaves a good thick white cast and has a neutral cream scent (which I do not like that much). Repurchase? No!
  14. Too Cool For School Egg Mousse Soap – This super rich and dense foam was really fun, but to drying to use on my face, so I used it as shaving foam. Read my review >>here<<. Repurchase? No.
  15. Figs & Rouge Lip Balm Cherry Blossom – This had a bad taste the second moment, so I didn’t really use it up. Also, I’m not much into cherry scented products. Repurchase? No.
  16. Schwarzkopf GlissKur Damage Repair Hair Treatment – I love this line of hair care because it smells of chocolate. I also liked using this hair treatment. Repurchase? Yes.
  17. Purederm Make-up Cleansing Tissue Green Tea – These were part of a MeMeBox, too. I really like Cleansing Tissues, especially after a long night when you are too lazy to cleanse your face or when travelling. Unfortunatelly, these were’nt the most effective tissues I used. Repurchase? No.
  18. COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch – My secret weapon for a newly appearing pimple. I still have more of these, but I wanted to pint out that I really love them. See my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes.
  19. a;t fox Lifting Cream and Moisturizing Gel Cream – Another product from my MeMeBox hoardings. Such a lovely packaging, but the creams were so-so. Nothing special. Repurchase? No.
  20. Palmolive Aroma Sensations Feel Glamorous Shower Gel Peeling – a lovely shower peeling with a nice scent. Repruchase? Maybe. November – February Empties 2015/2016
  21. bebe Young Care (Johnson’s) Smoothie Shower Gel – Loved the scent! Repurchase? Maybe.
  22. Rojukiss Multi Vita Cleansing Powder – This is the first cleansing powder I’ve been trying. I really like the fact that cleansing powders are so leightweight and perfect for travelling because there is no danger of leaking. I discovered that there is a risk of them to clump when stored in humid places (like the bathroom). Read my review >>here<<. Repurchase? MAybe another cleansing powder.
  23. Kneipp Bath Oil –  I have a couple more of these and I like the scent a lot. I like Kneipp products in genereal :D Repurchase? Maybe.
  24. Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo –  The size of this was perfect for travelling. Unfortunatelly the spraying nozzle didn’T work anymore after 3 uses and I had to discard it. Repurchase? Maybe.
  25. ISANA Young Make-up Remover and Cleansing Gel – A cheap drugstore cleanser. I didn’t like the scent and it is not the most effective makeup remover either. Repurchase? No.
  26. Kneipp Almond Blossoms Showering Gel – They have a body oil from the same line and I’m so much in love with the scent! Repurchase? Yes!
  27. Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream – A BB cream which I can totally recommend. I was using it way more often on everyday occasions than my other BB creams. It has a nice tone and leaves a nice finish as well. Read my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes, but I have too many BB creams to use up.
  28. Trusted Health Products Botanical Splash Body Oil –  A body oil with a fruity orange-citrus scent which is very refreshening.Read my review >>here<< Repurchase? Maybe.
  29. Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo – This thick brown herbal shampoo works nicely, but can be leaving your hair dry. I used a hair treatment alweays after using it. This is only a travel-sized bottle, I still have the large bottle to use up. Read my review >>here<<. Repurchase? No, I’ll stick to my Shiseido or Damoae Therapy Shampoo, which I adore both!
  30. OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum – This was my second bottle of the C21.5 Vitamin C serum, but unfortunately, I dropped the bottle when I was half through it and all the rest of my precious serum was lost T_T Read my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Yes.
  31. MapleHolistics Vitamin C Serum – Despite my love for the Vitamin C serums from OST I really enjoyed using this serum! Read my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Maybe.
  32. Lailly 7 Second Make-Up Booster – A nice makeup base with a baby powder scent. Read my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Maybe, but I have some other makeup bases to try. November – February Empties 2015/2016
  33. Balea Cleansing Oil – If you have the possibility to get Balea products I can recommend you this cheap cleansing oil from the drug store dm. It costs a few euros (2-3 €) and is a good makeup remover. Still, asian cleansing oils have a nicer scent and seem to be more luxurious to the skin, but for quickly and simply cleansing your face this is great. It is also great for cleaning your makeup brushes and sponges. Repurchase? Yes!
  34. BRTC Aqua Rush Cream – Wow! I used this up so quickly, despite having many other moisturizers to be tried. I loved the waterdrop texture of this cream. It was so refreshening. Read my review >>here<<. Repurchse? Maybe!
  35. ElishaCoy Vita Capsule Cleanser –  I didn’t review this product yet, although I hav it for quite a time. It was not my cup of tea to be honest and too drying on top, but it came with the ElishaCoy 3D Spin Cleanser (which is not available any longer on Wishtrend it seems), which I enjoy using few times a week. Repurchase? No.
  36. Confume Argan Gold Treatment – I didn’t review this in detail yet, but I loved it! I used it up so quickly, too! Definitively recommendable for those having dry and frizzy hair! Also available on WishtrendRepruchase? Yes!
  37. Coréana Sho EGFactor 28 Days Timeless Program Eye Cream – This was a good and nourishing ey ecream and had a really nice packaging, shaped like a seringe. I used up two of these and really liked it. Read my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Maybe.
  38. Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish – I preferr this over the one from Skinfood because it is more gentle. You can read my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Maybe.
  39. Sum37 M;iracle Rose Cleansing Stick – I’m crying because I used it up already and I probably won’t be able to afford this luxurious cleanser in near future :D Lovers of rose scent will adore this cleansing stick! Read my review >>here<<. Repurchase? Maybe one day, hopefully!

Review: Daeng Gi Meo Ri Look At Hair Loss True Shampoo

17. August 2015

The BNTnews beauty box for August came with another Daeng Gi Meo Ri Shampoo to try: Daeng Gi Meo Ri Look At Hair Loss True Shampoo. This shampoo targeting hair protection and scalp care would not be that kind of shampoo I would select personally for my dry hair, but nevertheless, I was willing to give it a try.

Daeng Gi Meo Ri Look At Hair Loss True Shampoo

The name of the brand and product sound very long and complicated to someone with no Korean language knowledge, but the brand name Daeng Gi Meo Ri can be translated in this way:Daenggi is a traditional Korean ribbon which is tied to the braided hair of unmarried Korean women. Meori means simply hair in Korean. I reviewed the Daeng Gi Meo Ri Ja Dam Hwa The First Scalp and Hair Cleansing Treatment and the Oriental Special Shampoo before, and like the previous products this Korean shampoo works on your hair by using oriental medicine inspired ingredient, like traditionally used herbs, roots and flowers. In contrast to the previously reviewed products, the design of the Daeng Gi Meo Ri Look At Hair Loss True Shampoo is much more simple and modern. A pitty, since I love the super elegant and pretty design of the other two products. The Daeng Gi Meo Ri Look At Hair Loss True Shampoo comes in a pale blue bottle and looks almost medical. The 500 ml bottle doesn’t come with a pump either, but a regular opening.

Daeng Gi Meo Ri Look At Hair Loss True Shampoo

Since Daeng Gi Meo Ri is not well known outside of Korea it is hard to get more informationa about the ingredients of this shampoo. But I can tell you about the details I know: The Daeng Gi Meo Ri Look At Hair Loss True Shampoo is supposed to deliver energy and vitality to hair and scalp through Chinese Medicine issued ingredients such as white ginseng, cynanchum, coix, Russian iris and pomegranate. It moisturizes dry scalp with aloe extracts and avocado oil, plus leaves a refreshing feeling with menthol. It creates a creamy foam while lathering it up, which is generated by natural surfactants used. These help to eliminate wastes on scalp, too. Most important, the Daeng Gi Meo Ri Look At Hair Loss True Shampoo doesn’t contain silicones. The shampoo is dermatologically tested and Korean FDA approved. According to the description on the bottle it is suited for oily scalp types…Wait! Oily scalp? When I read about the point that it is suited for oily scalp types I was worried that this shampoo will not be suited for me. My scalp is normal, but my hair is dry and frizzy, espcially in the ends. In advance I used a hair treatment on my end after using the shampoo. I discovered the shampoo foams up nicely and has a pleasant creamy scent, which is not ginseng-y like the other two Daeg Gi Meo Ri products I tried. My hair didn’t feel dry while washing it neither. Moreover, it has a cooling feeling on my scalp, probably due to the menthol. My hair was also managable after washing and I could comb through it without any problems of tangled hair. I discovered though, that when my hair has dried down I kind of have the feeling that the hair is weightened down, especially near my scalp. After one day the top hair looks greasy already and I have to wash the hair again. Usually, my hair looks that way after two days, if it looks that greasy at all.

Daeng Gi Meo Ri Look At Hair Loss True Shampoo

I don’t know if the heavyness of the Daeng Gi Meo Ri Look At Hair Loss True Shampoo is due to the point that my hair has gotten used to the Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo, which is making my hair feel drier, or if it is the richness of the shampoo itself. Although it states that it contains aloe extracts and avocado oil it still is recommened for oily scalp types, so I doubt it is too rich after all. Since I don’t have any hair loss yet (luckily) I cannot discuss that point, but I like the fact that it doesn’t contain any silicon and the cooling effect it has on the scalp. The scent is pleasant, too, and the foam feels nice and creamy on my hair…I hope my hair will adjust to that shampoo, because I would love to use it for a longer time and see if it works for me. Yet, compared to the Oriental Special Shampoo I like the Daeng Gi Meo Ri Look At Hair Loss True Shampoo better. The retail price should be similar to the Oriental Shampoo, but I couldn’t find it online available, yet.

Review: Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo

28. July 2015

// HAIRCARE / PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY //

The BNTnews beauty box for July contained another shampoo from the Korean brand Daeng Gi Meo Ri, which I introduced to you in one of my previous reviews. This review will be about the Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo, a softening and protecting shampoo full of oriental medicine inspired ingredients.

Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo

The name of the brand and product sound very long and complicated to someone with no Korean language knowledge, but the brand name Daeng Gi Meo Ri can be translated in this way: Daenggi is a traditional Korean ribbon which is tied to the braided hair of unmarried Korean women. Meori means simply hair in Korean. Like the Daeng Gi Meo Ri Ja Dam Hwa The First Scalp and Hair Cleansing Treatment this Korean shampoo works on your hair by using oriental medicine inspired ingredient, like traditionally used herbs, roots, and flowers.

Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo

The Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo comes as a 500 ml pump bottle along with a 145 ml travel sized bottle in a kit. Both bottles are packed in a cardboard box with a lot of Korean description all over. On the backside the most important facts are listed and it displays an image of some herbs at the top, too.

Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo

According to the description it contains more than 35% of ripe and enriched medicinal ingredients as well as a patented substance extracted from Giant Crinum Lily (Crinum asiaticum). The Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo is full of vitamins and minerals, and it uses marine phyto-complex to protect the scalp with green algae (Caulerpa racemosa) extracts, antioxidative chlorella (a single cell green algae) and deeply moisturizes with fermented Pseudoalteromonas (marine bacterium). Moreover, it contains Tripterygium wilfordii root, false daisy (Eclipta prostrata) and hazelnut extracts for energizing and vitalizing tired and dry scalps. Furthermore, it contains keratin and camelia to treat damaged scalp from within and reinforce its elasticity. It uses natural surfactant so it does not irritate. You can find some more Korean description >>here<<.

I also found the picture above there and it lists the 15 herbs used for the Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo. Apart from some of the ingredients already mentioned above I could detect these ingredients (hopefully correctly translated with help of google translate): gujeolcho (Siberian chrysanthemum), ginseng (Panax ginseng), Chinese arborvitae (Platycladus orientalis), Mulberry (Morus), Rehmannia glutinosa, Siberian ginseng (acanthopanax), lotus, bamboo, and pigweed (Portulaca oleracea). Apart from all these oriental ingredients let’s take a moment to take a closer look at the Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo packaging design. I think the bottles look super pretty. I love the ornaments around the pump, which is the stopper for the pump in the same time. All the golden and dark green color makes it look super luxurious already.

Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo

I love how it comes with a smaller bottle in travel size! But now, let’s get into the real review for the Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo. First, what makes it special? On the one hand it is the ingredients of course, which gives it the name, but on the other hand, what I personally found very special was the recommendation to wash twice with this shampoo and to not use any other hair products during treatment. I have dry, frizzy and naturally wavy/curly hair, so usually I’m always using conditioner with any shampoo I use and moreover I’m using hair treatments, hair oil or entangling mists/serums every other day, too. My scalp is not dry, nor do I have any problems with an itchy scalp. For dry scalp, it is even recommended to use this shampoo in the morning and evening for a short period of time. I’m washing my hair almost every day, if not every second at least. For two weeks I have been using the shampoo as advised. I washed my hair twice with the shampoo and didn’t use any other hair products. The shampoo has a brown color and a herbal scent (mostly ginseng-ish). It foams up very nicely already after the first washing and one pump was enough for my long hair. Nevertheless, the natural cause of this was, that my hair became super dry and frizzy already after one usage. The hair didn’t feel soft and smooth like when using my regular shampoo and conditioner, nor was it easy to comb. I was struggling a lot with that, but I kept using the shampoo as recommended. After one week I felt that my upper hair felt smoother after washing once dried. The hair around my scalp looked more shiny, too, but the length of my hair and the ends continued to be very dry and tangled.

Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo

My conclusion considering the Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo is, that I cannot use it on its own. I love what it makes which my upper hair and the way the hair near my scalp feels, but it is too drying for the long ends of my naturally dry hair structure. If you have dry hair and would like to try this shampoo on your own I would recommend you to use a hair pack on your ends nevertheless. That’s the way I’m using this shampoo now and it works much better for my hair. People with oily/normal hair or people with shorter hair might love the shampoo as it is. I love that it comes in a pump bottle and that it contains so many plant-derived ingredients and I love that it makes my hair partially more soft and shiny, but I would rather prefer a shampoo which also provides enough moisture for long and dry hair. The Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Special Shampoo retails for 25500 Won from www.doorimall.net. The kit is available on Amazon.com for 37.99 US$. I tried another Korean herbal shampoo before, the Damoae Therapy Shampoo, which was supposed to be used in a similar way. But in contrast to the Daeng Gi Meo Ri Oriental Spacial Shampoo, it came with a tonic to use after washing, which helped to comb my hair. Also, the Damoae Therapy Shampoo felt like a conditioner when used for the second wash, and if you like herbal shampoos and have dry hair I can definitively recommend you the Damoae Shampoo instead.

Review: Daeng Gi Meo Ri Ja Dam Hwa The First

10. July 2015

I love the ingredients used in traditional asian medicine, like ginseng or ginger, so when I received Daeng Gi Meo Ri Ja Dam Hwa The First Scalp and Hair Cleansing Treatment with my BNTnews beauty box in June I was very excited to try it. I previously saw an episode of Get it Beauty, where they pointed out the importance of also using scalp treatment along with your regular hair care and though I never heard of that approach before I was willing to give it a try.

Daeng Gi Meo Ri Ja Dam Hwa The First

The name of the brand and product sound very long and complicated to someone with no Korean language knowledge, but the brand name Daeng Gi Meo Ri can be translated in this way: Daenggi is a traditional Korean ribbon which is tied to the braided hair of unmarried Korean women. Meori means simply hair in Korean. Daeng Gi Meo Ri Ja Dam Hwa The First is a multi-function product that washes scalp and boosts hair’s vitality by using traditional Korean medicine inspired ingredients.

Daeng Gi Meo Ri Ja Dam Hwa The First

First thing to notice is the beautiful packaging! The cardboard box and the tube containing the treatment shampoo are both very luxuriously ornamented with an oriental flower pattern in red and golden colors. I love the design! The cardboard box also contains a lot of Korean description, so if you speak and read Korean you’ll find a lot of information there (click below to enlarge).

Daeng Gi Meo Ri Ja Dam Hwa The First

Since the shampoo is oriental medicine-inspired it contains ingredients like white ginseng and ginger and the patented formula containing crinum lily extracts provides tired scalp and hair with energy, strength, and beauty. Moreover, silk extracts from golden cocoons and proteins protect the hair while reinforcing firmness and glow. It also contains a real herb complex made of green tea, camomile, sage, calendula and henna to moisturize the hair deeply. The foam created by the natural surfactant softly helps eliminate wastes on scalp, too, which is why this is not only a shampoo, but a scalp treatment, too. The tube contains 250 ml of the red coloured shampoo-treatment, which has a flowery/herbal scent. It is described as a subtle wild flower fragrance. The Daeng Gi Meo Ri Ja Dam Hwa The First also creates a nice foam while lathering it up in your hair and I really enjoyed the scent while using the shampoo. Unfortunately, it doesn’t provide my hair with enough moisture in order to make it shiny. After only using this shampoo-treatment on its own my hair feels pretty dry and tangled. I tried to keep using it on its own hoping my hair will get used to it, but I discovered that I simply cannot use this product without using a conditioner or deep hair treatment afterwards.

Daeng Gi Meo Ri Ja Dam Hwa The First

In conclusion I must say that this product doesn’t suit my hair. It makes it too dry and tangled and I have used other products that suit better. I even could not figure out where to buy it online or how much it retails, but according to other hair products from this brand it must be around 20 US$. If you want to try an oriental medicine inspired shampoo that really worked for me check out my review on Damoe Therapy Treatment Shampoo. It really made my hair soft and shiny and I had the feeling my fine hair felt more firm and fuller! Other than that I still prefer using the Shiseido Tsubaki line as my daily hair care.
