Review: TheFaceShop Face It Primer Moisture Fitting

21. February 2014
I’m not using foundation often, practically I don’t use them at all… Instead, I’ve been preferring using BB creams for years now and I never really thought about trying it primer for it. But lately I thought “Why not?!” Maybe it works out for me, too, to use some primer occasionally. That’s why I bought TheFaceShop Face It Primer Moisture Fitting a while ago and I’ve fallen in love with it ♥

There are three versions for this primer, one is called velvet skin, one called glow, and this one is called moisture fitting and it has a light pink packaging. The packaging is designed neat and simple. The instructions on the cardboard box are written in Korean and in English, which is a great plus!
Here is the list of ingredients for this product:
Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Cetylethylhexanoate, Hydrogenated polydecene, Cetearyl alcohol, Niacinamide, Glyceryl stearate, Glycereth-26, Butyrosperum parkii (Shea Butter), Microcrystalline wax, PEG-100 Stearate, Dimethione, Corallina officinalis extract, Citrus paradisi (Grapefruit) fruit extract, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Butylene Glycol, Triceteareth-4 phosphate, Dipentaerythrityl, Hexahydroxystearate/Hexastearate/Hexarosinate, Caprylic/Capric glycerides, PEG-2 Stearate, Glycol stearate, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone crosspolymer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate crosspolymer, Limnantes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Potassium hydroxide, C12-14 pareth-12, Disodium EDTA, Propylparaben, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Yellow 5, Red 4, Fragnance,Alpaha-isomethy ionone, Benzyl salicylate, Butylphenyl, Methylpropional, Citronellol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool
The ingredient list is quite long and you can look up the stats on COSDNA if you like (click >>here<< for the link to this ingredients list). It contains Alcohol and Parabens, and if you have sensitive skin you should check out the list first.
The primer comes in a bottle with a pump. the bottle is plastic, but you cannot see through it in order to see how much is left in the bottle. I love using pumps for such products, because it makes them much easier to use ♥ Again, the design stays simple, like the design of the cardboard box.
The primer itself has a creamy, lotion-like structure and has a white color. It feels moisturizing and gives the skin an instant cooling sensation. The skin feels soft and gets a nice glow after applying the primer. Furthermore, this primer is really lightweight and is not sticky at all. The scent is flower-like, but it is not overwhelming. I used both BB and CC cream with this primer and I’m really happy with the effect. My face looked great all day long and I didn’t have the need to touch up in the evening, which was really surprising. I will definitively recommend this primer to you! Maybe the Velvet Skin primer is better suited for oily skin, but for dry and normal skin I can only recommend trying TheFaceShop Face It Primer Moisture Fitting! ♥
You can get this at:
testerkorea for 12.900 Won (around US$ 13). Shipping costs depend on weight.
W2Beauty for US$ 18.99 each (free shipping option. You’ll get a 5$ voucher upon registration with this link, which is usable for orders of minimum 30$).

Review: The Saem Gem Miracle Black Pearl O2 CC Cream

20. February 2014
I’m a bit sceptical towards CC creams, especially towards those with color changing beads, because of the coverage which is just not enough for my liking. So, still I prefer using BB creams instead of CC creams, but nevertheless once in a while I’ll buy or try some CC creams or samples of CC creams. This time I tried The Saem Gem Miracle Black Pearl O2 CC Cream. This is also the first The Saem product I tried, although this brand offers some more products I would definitively love to try sometime.
Since I only had samples of this CC cream, I cannot say much about the packaging, except that it comes in a jar/tube with a pump. The sample packaging looks attractive with the colorful motif on it. I think the same motif is depicted on the paper packaging of the CC cream tube.

This CC cream has a white base and contains color changing beads in it. It feels very smooth upon application.  This CC cream also contains a nice list of ingredients, mostly natural ones. You can look up the ingredients on COSDNA if you want to check them out first. The good point which I like a lot is, that it doesn’t contain parabens, mineral oil, talc, benzophenone, artificial color, PG or 3-ethonolamines, so people disliking these ingredients in their cosmetic might like this product as well. It has SPF 50+/PA+++, too, which supports anti wrinkle effects and prevents skin damage. As all CC creams it claims to have a lot of skin benefits and smoothen the skin.

Honestly, I really enjoyed using this CC cream. It made the skin look nice and more even. It doesn’t have super cover like Missha’s Perfect cover BB cream, but it has more coverage than Skinfood’s Vita Water Drop CC cream. The finish is also not glowing like the Skinfood CC cream but semi matte. If you have dry skin make sure to use a moisturizer before, because it doesn’t provide that much moisture. Below, you can see a comparison between this CC cream and the CC cream from Skinfood and The Faceshop’s CC cream I reviewed previously (you can enlarge the image by clicking).

I tried using this CC cream with two different moisturizers and also combined it with primer beforehand and it looked really nice in all cases, especially with primer it just looked great all day long. I would definitively prefer this CC cream over the Skinfood cream. for more coverage I would still recommend The Faceshop Face It Aura CC cream.
You can get The Saem Gem Miracle Black Pearl O2 CC cream here:

W2Beauty for US$ 25.85 (free shipping option. You’ll get a 5$ voucher upon registration with this link, which is usable for orders of minimum 30$)

Did you try out this CC cream? Or do you still prefer BB creams?

Review: Tonymoly I’m Real Avocado Mask Sheet

13. February 2014
It’s quite some time ago that I bought some Tonymoly I’m Real Mask Sheets. This is one them containing Avocado and having the purpose to provide nutrition to the skin. What made me buy these masks in the first place was the design. I’m totally loving the comic style design displaying the main ingredient in a specific color. There are 11 different mask types available and they can either have emulsion type essence or milky lotion type essence. The Avocado mask contains milky lotion type essence.
Tonymoly I'm Real Avocado Mask Sheet

The packaging is much larger than I expected, and the folded Sheet mask only takes half of the packages space. The sheet is soaked thoroughly with the milky essence. Since it’s a milky essence the texture feels super soft.

Tonymoly I'm Real Avocado Mask Sheet
This mask is really rich, and I would really recommend it to super dry skin. I used it in the evening before going to sleep and even on the next day the skin felt like I put cream on it and was really soft. Although the lotion was absorbed, my skin was glowing. It could be too greasy for oily type skin, but since I have dry skin I really liked the bounciness and nutrition it provides. And Avocado’s have a lot of skin benefits anyway, since they contain a lot of healthy fats. The nourishing and rich feeling probably comes from these fats. I heard that they penetrate quite deeply into the skin layers and stimulate your blood circulation of the skin. I felt my skin getting warmer after I used. Whether it is because of this effect or something else I cannot say. I didn’t react to the mask in any other way. The scent of the mask was also very pleasant, but it didn’t smell of Avocado. You can get this mask at:

W2Beauty for US$ 3.08 (free shipping option. You’ll get a 5$ voucher upon registration with this link, which is usable for orders of minimum 30$)

I can recommend this mask to anyone with dry skin. You’ll love the nourishing effect this mask provides. :)

Review: Skinmiso Rice Foam Cleanser

9. February 2014
Here is another foam cleanser I’m using at the moment: Skinmiso Rice Foam Cleanser. I’m always curious about skincare products containing rice ingredients, since rice is well known for its skin benefits. This foam cleanser is claimed to be the best facial foam cleanser by Wishtrend, where you can buy it.

The packaging is simple and looks very clinical. It gives the impression of being a medical product. Indeed, the product description says that it contains many natural ingredients derived from plants, so it should be beneficial for the skin.

Here is the description taken from Wishtrend:

The best facial cleansing foam !

SKINMISO’s Rice Foam Cleansing is the best facial cleansing foam ! It uses many natural ingredients derived from plants so that the product is not harmful to your skin. It effectively removes dirt, dead skin cells, and makeup from your skin all while keeping your skin moisturized by regulating the sebum-water balance !

Features:

Removes dead skin cells, excess sebum, and cleans deep into pores.
Papaya extracts in this facial cleansing foam gently removes dead skin cells and excess sebum without damaging your skin.
Effectively removes sun block, BB cream, and other makeup !The fine yet rich lather of this facial cleansing foam has great capabilities to effectively remove all types of makeup that has built up on your skin during the day.
Regulates skin’s sebum-water balance and nourishes for clear skin !Rice extract included in this facial cleansing foam serves as a great regulator of sebum-water balance. It also adds much needed nutrients to your skin.
Plus-10 Patented Complex !This patented complex is comprised of the 10 ingredients found in nature. This formula increases elasticity of your skin and is also a great antioxidative agent.

Recommend

This facial cleansing foam is perfect for :

  • People who have excess sebum secretion.
  • People who have dead skin cell build up on their skin.
  • People who have dull looking skin.
  • People who are concerned about their whiteheads and blackheads.
  • People who want clean but not dry skin.
  • People who want an effective facial cleansing.

Ingredients:

Water, Myristic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate, Lauric Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Stearic Acid, Cocamide DEA, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin, PEG-6, Diglycerin, Glycol Stearate, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Fragrance, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Disodium EDTA, Allantoin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Morus Alba Bark Extract, Phellinus Linteus Extract, Paeonia Albiflora Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract

The product has the typical moussy consictency of foam cleansers. It is white colored and has a difficult to describe scent. I’m not good in describing scents anyway, but the scent is a mixture between sweet and fresh, but it is neither flowery nor herbal….>_<”’ Excuse me that I’m not able to describe it in a better way…

It lathers into a fine and rich foam. If I use my new Konjak Sponge I only need a tiny amount and I get enough foam already. I think it will be the same if you use a cleansing brush. The cleansing effect is also good. It cleanses reliably make-up. The skin feels clear and soft afterwards and also a bit brightened up- which is probably the effect of the removed dead skin cells. For very dry skin: don’t forget to use moisturizer afterwards, because it is not leaving your skin moisturized. But that’s with almost all foam cleansers. I think this cleanser will work great on oily skin, because of the sebum reduction effect it claims to have. Since I have dry skin mostly, I cannot judge this part. I’ve been using this foam cleanser for 4 weeks now and it didn’t give me any irritations or breakouts.

If you are curious about this foam cleanser you can have a look at Wishtrend’s online store. It is available for US$ 12.99. At the moment it is available with free shipping as far as I know. If you’ve never ordered at Wishtrend you’ll get a one-time free shipping voucher upon registration.

Review: Skinfood Black Sugar Wash-Off Mask

5. February 2014

// AFFILIATE LINKS / KBEAUTY / SKINCARE //

One of my first posts on this blog almost one year ago was about Skinfood’s Black Sugar Scrub Foam. Since then I’ve always been curious about Skinfood Black Sugar Wash-Off Mask, because I loved the scrub foam so much. Finally, I bought it a while ago and I don’t regret it ♥ Skinfood offers quite a wide range of different masks and packs, each addressing a different skin concern and provided in tiny plastic buckets.
Skinfood is one of these brands which are competing with Etude House in terms of design – in my opinion at least. It is a Korean brand with vintage appearing design of their products which occupied my heart very quickly. The products are using the beneficial effects of ingredients, which are familiar to us in terms of “food” like vegetables and fruits. Their motto “Food that is good for your health, is also good for your skin.” reflects this brands’ ideology nicely. The Skinfood Black Sugar Wash-Off Mask comes in a cute plastic jar with a vintage-like styled label on the lid. It is simple, but I love this kind of design.
The description is written in English and in Korean on the plastic jar. You can see from the ingredients list, that the main ingredient is sugar, but it also contains various fats and oils. Black sugar has several benefits. It is rich in potassium, iron, calcium and other minerals. Brown and black sugar are often used as mechanical skin exfoliator, as in several skincare products (also see the Klairs Gentle Black skincare line). Here they help to remove the dead cells while massaging. Also, molasses contains vitamin B, which is an antioxidant that prevents and reverses signs of photo-aging of the skin. You can check the ingredients list on COSDNA, too. Two ingredients are red flagged, which are PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, a surfactant and BHT (Butylhydroxytoluol), an antioxidant. If you know that you are sensitive to these two ingredients, keep in mind to test the product previously on your arm.
Below the lid you’ll find another separating plastic lid, which prevents the product to lick out. Nevertheless, due to the rather solid consistency, especially in cool areas, it is practically not necessary.
I was really surprised about the solid consistency, somehow I thought it would be more creamy…Anyway, the scent of it is the same citrus-ish scent that I found with the scrub foam. On the ingredients list is written that they used caramel perfume, but I don’t smell any caramel scent to be honest. When I tried the scrub foam back then, I didn’t like the scent too much in the beginning, because normally I like flowery scents more. But I grew fond of it, because it gives you some refreshment in a way.
If you have sensitive skin you should also keep in mind to don’t use this product on dry skin, but to make your skin wet or damp before. The more water you add while massaging, the more do the sugar grains melt and they won’t irritate your skin anymore. Another way of using this would be in combination with a cleansing oil, like I showed in my Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil review. I think this makes the application even more suitable for sensitive skin.
By the way, the jar doesn’t come with a spatula or a spoon, but I would recommend to use one. Not only because it is more hygienic, but also because it makes it easier to take out product from the jar  (I don’t know if they give you spoons with it, if you buy it at a store). How did it perform on my skin? You can achieve a nice peeling on your skin while massaging this mask into your skin. While leaving it on the face, you can either enjoy the fresh scent, or observe a slight heating effect of the skin, because your blood circulation was promoted while massaging. After I wash off the mask, the skin has a soft feeling. I don’t have a dry feeling nor is my skin greasy.
If you love using masks and you don’t mind leaving a product on your skin for a couple of minutes, I will recommend this mask to you. If you don’t like waiting so much, you can optionally also go for the Black Sugar Foam Scrub. In principal it has the same effects, only it is a cleansing foam on the same time.
You can buy a jar containing 100 g at:

Review: Belleme Cosmetics Get Your Crayon “Bad Girl”

30. January 2014
Some time ago I made a review on Belleme Cosmetics’ Not The Same Tint which I really liked. Before Christmas Abbamart-who is selling Belleme Cosmetics– had a free shipping event. Since I really wanted to try the lip crayons they have I grabbed my chance and ordered finally Belleme Cosmetics Get Your Crayon in shade “Bad Girl”. I also ordered a gel eye liner, but this will be reviewed another time. First, let’s have a look at the crayon:

So, this is again a lip crayon :D It has a clear plastic cap and works with a twisting mechanism, which I like a lot, because you don’t need a sharpener at hand. The design is simple, but the cute font they use on the crayon packaging gives it just the necessary amount of individuality to not get boring.

You can choose between 5 different shades on Abbamart’s Online Shop. The description for “Bad Girl” on the page says:

* Belleme’s trend-setting lip crayons express pure, vibrant color with a single swipe

* BAD GIRL gives irresistible attitude with a deep rich burgundy

* Creamy texture glides effortlessly on

* Perfect for creating two-tone lips with your favorite lipstick (see below for our favorite match!)

* Gives lips long-lasting moisture and softness

* No need to search for a sharpener – convenient twist-up base pushes up the crayon right when you need it

Ingredients: Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride, Octyldodecanol, Diisostearyl Malate, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Ceresin, Candelilla Wax, Microcrystalline Wax, Dipentaerythrityl Hexahydroxystearate / Hexastearate / Hexarosinate, Lanolin, Polyethylene, Avocado Oil, Rosehip Fruit Oil, Macadamia Seed Oil, BHT, Mica, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Titanium Dioxide, Red 201, Yellow 4, Red 218

As you know, I love burgundy and red lip shades, so I was really happy about finding this crayon. The swatch of it is greatly pigmented and it has a smooth feel while applying. ♥ That’s exactly how a crayon has to be in my eyes.
The color stays quite for a couple of hours, let’s say up to four, if you are not excessively eating and drinking. And the stain also stays on your lips a bit, which is because of the dark shade, I guess. It also doesn’t make my lips go dry, which is a plus! All in all, I don’t find anything negative about this lip crayon and I totally love it ♥
You can get this at Abbamart for US$ 9.00. They don’t offer free shipping unfortunately, but if you have a look at their facebook page, you might have the chance to read about free shipping events.

Trustworthy Shops for Asian Cosmetics Part II

29. January 2014
I talked about RoseRoseShop in “Trustworthy Shops for Asian Cosmetics Part I” and today I will introduce another of my favourite shops to you: W2Beauty!
This shop was newly founded beginning of last year and since then got a lot of popularity. Main reason for this is probably the shop owner Alice. She is very nice and does care about any inquiries and questions made. Also she makes use of social media a lot, and if you follow her on facebook or instagram you’ll see that she’s doing a lot of giveaways and wants us to take part in her cosmetic shopping experiences in the various Korean brand shops.

The online shop has a cute layout and is arranged nicely. If there are any discounts you’ll find them on the starting page. Sometimes she’ll put coupons for a selection of brands, so you can get some discount. W2Beauty offers a free shipping option, but you can also go for registered mail if you want to be on the safe side. My orders I did there were always with free shipping (you only pay for tracking number) and they arrived every time after 2-3 weeks. The prices are higher than on RoseRoseShop, but then again shipping doesn’t depend on weight and thus it can be cheaper for heavy products. She is also generous with samples, depending on how much you spend. If you didn’t buy a lot, she’ll include samples nevertheless. Mostly I got brands or products I didn’t know and the sample selection was different each time.
www.w2beauty.com
I really like W2Beauty‘s Affiliate/Sponsorship Programme. If you have a blog you should check it out. They also have an affiliate program.
So, it might be worth to take a look at this online shop if you do not know it already :)
I hope this post was helpful to you. Please write me your comments!♥ If you like this, I will continue with more posts of this kind.

Review: Etude House Bling Bling Eyestick No. 9 “Gold Tail Star”

28. January 2014
I’m not wearing eyeshadow often, simply because I’m too lazy in the morning to spend to much time on it. That’s also the reason I like eyeshadow sticks and pencils a lot. They are easily and quick to use and you can add some glow to your eyes and it makes you look more awake. Etude House’s Bling Bling Eyesticks are an example for easily to use eyeshadow sticks. They are available in 6 different colors. I bought this stick in a shade called “Gold Tail Star” at www.keautystore.com.

The packaging is compared to Etude House’s normally very girly packaging not really special. The color of it is simply black, with the name of the stick written on it. It has a simple cap, to protect the stick and it works via twisting mechanism, so you can wind up the eyeshadow stick. At the bottom of the stick you can see which color you are using.

“Gold Tail Star” is a golden shimmery eye shadow color. I love using it under my eyes, but it looks good on the eyelids, too, giving a soft spark. It is super easy to use in both ways. It glides smoothly on the skin, but since the skin around the eyes is extra sensitive, don’t scrub it too hard over it :)

I like this eyestick, because it is very easy to use and it has a travel friendly size (it’s shorter than most pens and pencils are). It is also really affordable in my eyes, although the prices seem to vary a bit (I bought mine at Keautystore because I’ve earned some credit there by writing reviews, so I paid actually almost nothing for it). You should have a look at ebay, too, if you are interested in buying these. The only downside of these eyeshadow sticks are, that they are not smudgeproof. If you have oily lids I would recommend you to use a eyeshadow primer in order to extend the wearability and prevent creasing. I don’t have oily lids myself, but even I am totally surprised what a difference wearing an eyeshadow base can make (I’m using a cheap drugstore eyeshadowbase, so it doesn’t have to be something high end to do the difference).
You can buy these eyeshadow stick here:

keautystore for US$ 7.90 (no free shipping option, only registered mail. You can get 5% discount using this coupon code >>here<<)

W2Beauty for US$ 7.00 (free shipping option. You’ll get a 5$ voucher upon registration with this link, which is usable for orders of minimum 30$)

Twofacemall for US$ 5.25 ( free shipping option)

RoseRoseShop for US$ 3.20 (shipping depends on weight, item is on sale now and not all colors are available anymore)
