Review: Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers

19. September 2017

/ PR SAMPLE / NAILS / BEAUTY /

Since May Catrice released their new range of nail polishes: the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers! These newly formulated nail polishes come in 45 colours and promise to be staying up to 7 days without a top coat. I guess so far I never had a nail polish that really lasted for 7 days, so of course this calls for me to try my luck here:

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers

The Catrice ICONails are formulated with Acai Oil and give your nails a Gel Shine Finish and a long-lasting finish. The square bottles have a modern design with an edgy vibe. Below the main cap there is a second round cap with a brush attached. The length of the brush is very easy to handle and makes it easy to apply the nail polish in few strokes.

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers

I received 4 different and versatile colours from Catrice Cosmetics to try and test for their long-livity within the frame of their #ICONailsChallenge . Plus the one that I already had it makes 5 different colours from this line. Below you can see from left to right the following shades: #16 “Cloud Nine”, a light grey-blue, #05 “It’s All About That Red”, a classic red shade, #34 “The Berry First Time!”, a berry-pink shade, #11 “Go For Gold!”, a gold-metalic shade, and #21 “Want To Be My Bridesmaid?”, a white nail polish.

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers

For my test, I decided for the colour called “For The Berry First Time”, since I was on vacation during the test and pink was the perfect colour for the Caribbean vibes and beach.

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers

I applied only one layer of the nail polish and I was already amazed by the pigmentation of the colour. One coat is totally enough for this shade to look perfectly shiny and nice. I would say the colour looks exactly like out of the bottle. For the test I also didn’t use any top coat, since the nail polish is supposed to be long-lasting even without top coat. Below you can see an image of my nails on the first day:

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers

During the time I tested the nail polish I was in Mexico. This means I was wearing it through 30° C day and night, while I was at the beach, swimming, snorkeling, bicycling…etc. I really put this nail polish to its limits. And yet, below you can see the image after 5 days. Yes, there are some marks on the shiny coat of the nail polish, but still, altogether it looks still neat and has no chips. Starting from day 6 the heat and sand slowly started to make the polish fade after all.

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers

Despite the fact that the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer started fading starting from day 6 I’m really amazed. My experience with nail polish and beach and sand is usually that it fades after 1-2 days. This nail polish lasted for 5 days perfectly neat and shiny on my nails without a top coat. Every other nail polish I own would have been melted away by that time. Also the pigmentation of the nail polish is really great for the pink colour I selected for the test. One layer of the nail polish was enough to make it look like a proper gel manicure.

The Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers retail for 2.99€. For this affordable price I can only recommend you to grab the one or the other colour. Have you tried the ICONails already?

Review: Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion

7. January 2017

Happy new year! This is my first post in 2017 and I feel really relaxed after two weeks of vacation. As you noticed I was mostly unactive on my blog except for occasional Instagram pictures, but now I’m happy to be back with tons of reviews…starting with the Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion. So I know that many of you love sheet masking and even more love snail filtrate containing products. Keep reading to know more abot this sheet mask which combnines both:

Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion

Wish Formula is one of these Korean brands I know for quite, but didn’t try many products from them. My favorite product so far was Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad and I still have a couple of products from this brand waiting here to be reviewed. Wish Formula has two different versions of their Wish Formula The Mask Sheet Masks, one with Centella Honey Fermented Serum and the one shown here with Snail Milk Lotion.

Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion

Before I scare those of you off who never have heard of snail secretion filtrate as ingredient for skincare: Snail Mucus claims to be rich in hyaluronic acid and antioxidants and thus help our skin to regenerate stimulating the formation of collagen, elastin and dermal components that repair the signs of photoaging. Also, it claims to minimize the damage generated by free radicals that are responsible for premature skin aging (there is a wikipedia entry for snail mucus, too.). The snail mucus is not obtained by harming the snails, but it is collected is so-called snail farms.

Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion

The Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion is directed towards protecting and strengthening irritated skin. Furthermore ingredients like aloe and hyaluronic acid provide the skin with hydration and have a refreshing effect. The ingredients are listed in English on the backside of the sachet in which the sheet mask is packed. By the way, I’m in love with the delicate illustration of the sachet with the simple flowers and the snail, leaving it still quite minimalistic. The ingredients list is also short which I love, too:

Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Apricot Kernel Oil, Snail Secretaion Filtrate, Polyglutamic Acid, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Centella Asiatica Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Morus Alba Bark Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizae, Allantoin, Sodium Polyacrylate, Polyacrylate-13, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate 20, Chlorphenesin, Methylparaben, Parfum

I added the list to COSDNA here and you can check the single ingredients there. Mostly green labelled ingredients and the only potential acne irritant could be the apricot kernel oil.

Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion

The Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion is a thick cotton sheet mask soaked with a lotion-type milky essence. It is packed without any additional plastic in the sachet. There is plenty of essence in the sachet after taking out the mask, so your sheet mask won’t dry out while storing it for a longer period, and also you can use the left-over essence on your arms and neck, and so on. Don’t waste all these moisturizing ingredients! I personally like cotton sheet masks slightly better than hydro gel masks although hydrogel masks tend to have a better fit. Although this mask from Wish Formula doesn’t fit perfectly on my face, it stays on its place and doesn’t keep sliding and falling around while wearing it for the recommended 15-20 minutes. After the time the skin feels moisturized and refreshed and even calmed. And the sheet mask didn’t dry out at all!

Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion

Thumbs up for Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion! I love the essence of this sheet mask and I love the thick cotton fabric. Furthermore this ingredients list is perfect contining mainly the basic ingredients needed. Definitely a repurchase product for me and it provides a ot of hydration and moisture. I saw that they also sell the mask in a cardbox of 10 sachets, but also as big box containing 50 sheet masks (not packed separately). Did you try this mask from Wish Formula already? What is your opinion on snail mucus?

Asian Beauty Blog Party: Sheetmask Favorites

29. May 2016

For our last winter season Asian Beauty Blog Party we thought about sharing our favourite sheetmasks with you and explain why we like them so much. If you are wondering, there will be a traditional summer time Asian Bleauty Blog Party where everybody can share their links to a certain topic in June, July, August, and  September. It will be hosted by Sophie. The winter Asian Beauty Blog Party will continue in October probably, so keep your ears and eyes open :D

Asian Beauty Blog Party: Sheetmask Favorites

I will start off with my favorite sheetmask and then I will comment on the selected sheetmasks of my fellow bloggers:

For me, my favorite sheetmask has no specific name but it is rather a favorite ingredient, which is Aloe Vera.  I chose a Missha Pure Source cell sheet mask with Aloe below because of the key ingredient Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera is one of my favourite ingredients for not only moisturizing but also calming and soothing the skin. In summer my favorite is a cooled aloe sheetmask which I placed in the fridge before using it.

Asian Beauty Blog Party: Sheetmask Favorites

Sophie from MapleTreeBlog chose a  My Scheming brand. She says “This brand was a new discover for me this year and I’m loving what I’ve learnt so far. They’re not overly expensive and can be bought in boxes which makes daily masking less guilt inducing. I also love the packaging. In the herbal anti acne mask which I’m wearing the girl is hitting the acne with a mallet. Which is something I wish I could do! They come with a plastic backing which makes using them easier and are absolutely dripping in essence. There’s enough for me to slather my face, neck and décolletage in it. This particular type is moisturising and does help with my redness. It contains green tea, witch hazel, chamomile, aloe and Orris among other ingredients. Definitely a repurchase for me.”

My Scheming was actually the first brand for sheetmasks that I tried. I bought a pack containing 10 different types for testing and they were so adorable in their packaging and I liked them a lot back then. I can imagine that I would still like using them, especially now that Sophie reminded me of this wonderful brand.

Asian Beauty Blog Party: Sheetmask Favorites

Michele from Beautyfindsforme says: Benton Snail ? Bee ? High Content Mask Pack (Korea) is one of my favorite masks for when my face feels really oily or has blemishes. I find it to be very soothing and helps reduce redness, while controlling oil and hydrating my skin. This mask is on the drier side as far as essence goes, but I find that the mask benefits outweigh that this is a bit drier. My face feels refreshed and if I have blemishes, they are less red and sore after I use this. Snail mucin will help moisturize and heal your skin and bee venom helps prevent blemishes. This mask is also good for sensitive skin as well. I really love this mask and I try to keep 5 to 10 on hand, as I am known just to slap this on in the morning as a quick pick-my-skin-up!”

I love snail mucus and products containing snail mucus… and usually I’m into bees and products from bees for skincare too. Unfortunately, my skin didn’t like the Benton snail bee line, so I avoided using the sheetmasks too. I reviewed the cream previously aswell (here). But you will also find many positive reviews for this specific skincare range from Benton.

Asian Beauty Blog Party: Sheetmask Favorites

Julie from PDXBeautiful says:Here is my pick. The Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask in Shea Butter. This mask hydrates my skin like nobody’s business. The thick, milky essence not only hydrates but plumps and soothes. This does leave a slightly oily finish behind but that is one thing I love about this mask because it helps eliminate dehydration. I find I don’t need to apply a ton of moisturizer after using this mask. No matter what stress I put my skin through (yes, actives I’m looking at you) this always puts my skin back into proper balance. It also has a light but yummy creamy, nutty and buttery scent that I just adore. This mask is inexpensive and widely available as Innisfree is a very popular Korean cosmetic brand. The fit is great, lasts for about 30 minutes and as a bit of left over essence for extra hydration. I have not had any reaction, no sensitivity or irritation and no breakouts from this mask. Main ingredients include shea butter, hyaluronate and green tea.”

Honestly, I really want to try exactly this mask right now! Thanks Julie for introducing it. I love Innisfree masks and I have a bunch of them at home at hands. I also tried the Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Masks previously, but not the one with shea butter. And since I love shea butter as rehydrating ingredient I’m slightly angry I didn’t get this mask any earlier.

Asian Beauty Blog Party: Sheetmask Favorites

Amy from PeepingPomeranian chose a hydrogel sheetmask from Banila. It looks so pretty with the laces, doesn’t it?She says: “As a person who hates spending more an a dollar on a sheetmask, I found it funny that I prefer hydrogels #expensivetastes. For myself, its mostly a time and texture issue. I don’t like spending more than 30mins masking. I always have stuff to do and having to lay down with a mask is almost never something I do. Which means I need a mask that will stick to my face well. I find more often than not hydrogels, due to the way they conform to the face, will stay put allowing me to continue on with my business. I suspect that my dry skin is probably better suited to sticking to the gels as well. Additionally, I also don’t really like sheetmasks that are sopping wet with essence. These are usually fiber masks, cotton, silk etc. Some do conform better than others, but I don’t like spending so much down time and I find that my skin doesn’t absorb all the extra essence. This leaves my skin tacky, even when I apply the essence elsewhere. This is probably why I tend to be quite picky about which non-gel masks I use since I like a thinner less gel like essence.”

I’m really starting to like hydrogel masks but there are some which seem to be drying out quickly. One of my favorite sheet masks is the Moonlab Real Cooling Thermometer Mask, which is made of coconut fiber, very similar to hydrogel. I can really recommend yu to try this mask if you can get your hands on it!

Review: Skinfood Hydro Fitting Snail Mask Sheet

12. June 2015

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / SKINCARE //

The Skinfood Hydro Fitting Snail Mask Sheet was featured in the guestpost for the Skinfood Brand Focus and Top 5 products, and since then I was curious about trying this mask. Luckily, the Korean cosmetics online store named Q-depot offered me to review exactly that mask, which made me really happy. First of all, it is a hydration-type sheet mask, which are my favourite, and second, it contains the key ingredient snail mucus, which is one of my favourite ingredients.

Skinfood Hydro Fitting Snail Mask Sheet

Skinfood is one of these brands which are competing with Etude House in terms of design– in my opinion at least. It is a Korean brand with vintage appearing design of their products which occupied my heart very quickly. The products are using the beneficial effects of ingredients, which are familiar to us in terms of “food” like vegetables and fruits. Their motto “Food that is good for your health, is also good for your skin.” reflects this brands’ ideology nicely. The Skinfood Hydro Fitting Snail Mask Sheet represents the cute design with a light pink sheet mask sachet showing a cute crawing of a snail. Normally, this sheet mask comes in boxes of 5 pieces.

Skinfood Hydro Fitting Snail Mask Sheet

The backside of the sachet contains the Korean and English description.  The English description are quite short, but the main content of it is that this mask is supposed to moisturize and nourish your face and have a good and comfortable fitting. The ingredients are listed on COSDNA, too, and you can look them up >>here<<. The ingredient list is short and safe to use, but it contains alcohol as 5th ingredient and also methylparaben is included. The key ingredient is snail filtrate, which has a concentration of 1,120 mg.

Skinfood Hydro Fitting Snail Mask Sheet

This sheet mask is a regular cotton sheet mask. It is attached to a plastic sheet, which makes it easy to unfold the mask. The essence is a clear, liquid one, which soaks the cotton sheet very nicely. The scent of the sheet mask is a floral one, and it is quite strong. It smells of alcohol first, too. But even after the alcohol scent is gone the perfume scent still is noticeably strong.

Skinfood Hydro Fitting Snail Mask Sheet

The fabric of the sheet mask is soft and very thin. The mask promises a nice fit, but i’d say it is regular and depends on your facial shape. It doesn’t dry out quickly because of all the essence and thus feels very moisturizing and refreshing on the skin. Unfortunately, after a while my skin felt a bit sensitive, probably because of the alcohol. After taking off the mask and waiting for the essence to absorb the skin feels still sticky. I personally don’t like sticky feelings, so it was a bit of a dissapointment and didn’t really work for me. Since I only had one mask I can not say anything about longterm effects resulting from the snail filtrate, for example.

Skinfood Hydro Fitting Snail Mask Sheet

Overall, the Skinfood Hydro Fitting Snail Mask Sheet was not suitable for my skintype. Unfortunately, the alcohol felt irritating on my dry skin and also the stickiness is not to my personal liking. If you don’t have alcohol sensitive skin, are not very sensitive to strong scents either, and do not mind a sticky feeling afterall, you might want to try this mask anyways. As usual (and that’s something for all reviews in general), it might be different from person to person! If anybody tried this mask from skinfood and had a different experience feel free to write a comment below!

Last but not least some words to Q-depot: Like the Face Shop Face It Power Perfection BB Cream I received the Skinfood Hydro Fitting Snail Mask Sheet from Q-depot. This store selling Korean beauty items is quite new, but from the first glance it looks quite promising and is worth a look. They keep adding more brands and products, but they have already quite a variety of the most popular Korean brands. The site is easy to navigate, too. And they offer free samples for each order and free shipping for orders above US$69. What I like especially, that they have an extra section for cruelty-free products, which contains brands like Iope, Innisfree, Etude House, etc. I didn’t see that before for most of the online stores, so that’s something really innovative and nice. You can get the Skinfood Hydro Fitting Snail Mask Sheet for 9.95 US$ and it comes in a box containing 5 pieces of sheet masks. Q-depot is having a promotion were you can get 5 US$ coupon upon signing up. The coupon is useable for a minimum purchase of 69 US$.

Review: Flower Water Transfer Nail Stickers from Born Pretty Store

9. June 2015

// PR SAMPLE / FASHION / AFFILIATE LINKS //

I wanted to post this Flower Water Transfer Nail Sticker from Born Pretty Store together with the Peackock Feather Water Decall showed previously, but this one gave me a hard time to get nice pictures to be honest :’D

Flower Water Transfer Nail Stickers from Born Pretty Store

As mentioned above, I received this set of double-ended dotting pens from Born Pretty Store. Born Pretty Store is an asian based online store selling very affordable products, reaching from accessoires to make-up and beauty products. They have a super huge amount of all kinds of nailart products and tools. This Water Transfer Nail Sticker is available in different patterns. This sheet contains various stickers: There are 13 transparant flowers, 15 black flowers and 6 Rolling Stones Symbols. I decided for these decalls because of the flowers in first place, especially the black flowers.

Flower Water Transfer Nail Stickers from Born Pretty Store

The backside of the water decalls shows the description on how to use them. Basically it is very easy: You have to soak the stickers in water first, then adjust them on your nail, remove the excess water, wait until it is dry, add clear nail polish on top, wait until it is dry, remove excess water decal by simply peeling it off (as soon as you put the clear nail polish on top of the water decal the uncoated water decal can be easily peeled off). Also, the instruction on the back of the package says, that you should blow dry the water decals. I didn’t do this…actually, I only dried the nails after the application of the stickers with help of a tissue and continued with the top coat directly. And it worked super well.

Flower Water Transfer Nail Stickers from Born Pretty Store

Since I was so excited about the black flowers I painted my nails black and started to put the flowers on top when I realized that they are not visible on black nailpolish. It seem the black flowers should be used as whole nail sticker, but there aren’t any shapes indicated and the area is too small to make 10 whole nail stickers of the black area. That was my first dissapointment. I continued with the transparent flowers. Since I knew from my previous experience with the peacock feather decalls that the decalls won’t show up on red nail polish I tried pink polish first. But the pink polish was to dark aswell :'(. After lots of tests and trials I finally used two coats of Etude House Look At My Nails Maple Syrup, which is probably the sheerest nail polish I own :D. Afterwards, I added the remaining decalls on some nails and sealed it with a top coat. Here is the result:

Flower Water Transfer Nail Stickers from Born Pretty Store

How do you like it? I love how pretty the flowers are, but like with the peacock feather decalls they don’t show off nicely on darker nail polish shades. I would advice you to use sheer nail polish, although I would have loved to see the design on darker shades, too. You can get this Flower Feather Nail Art Water Decals Transfer Stickers for 0.99 US$ per sheet from Born Pretty Store. I think it is super affordable! You can also use the promotional code KBX31 for 10 % discount on your order. They do offer free international shipping by the way. If youi use sheer and light nailpolish often the flower decalls are worth a try, they are cheap, long lasting and they have a lot of different styles available at BornPrettyStore. I will check out more in future for sure!

Review: Peacock Feather Water Transfer Nail Stickers from Born Pretty Store

27. May 2015

In my last nailart I showed you the dotting pens from Born Pretty Store and how to create a simple cherry blossom nailart. Today, I’m showing you some Peacock Feather Water Transfer Nail Stickers, which I received from Born Pretty Store, too. I’m not a pro considering nailart, but I liked the peakcock feather design of these water transfer nail stickers.

Butterflies and flowers are also available for this specific product number. Each sheet contains 20 stickers, so you can use it twice. The feathers have different sizes, so you can  put the larger stickers on your larger nails, like thumbs, and the smaller ones on the other fingers.

water transfer nail stickers

The backside of the water decalls shows the description on how to use them. Basically it is very easy: You have to soak the stickers in water first, then adjust them on your nail, remove the excess water, wait until it is dry, add clear nail polish on top, wait until it is dry, remove excess water decal by simply peeling it off (as soon as you put the clear nail polish on top of the water decal the uncoated water decal can be easily peeled off). I didn’t do this…actually, I only dried the nails after the application of the stickers with help of a tissue and continued with the top coat directly. And it worked super well.

water transfer nail stickers

As you might know by now, I’m pretty obsessed with red nails and lips, so I tried the decalls on my red painted nails. I’ve used one coat of Etude House Play Color Nails Polish in shade 52. afterwards, I added a sticker on each nail and sealed it with top coat. Here is the result:

The peacock feather design is really pretty, but it doesn’t show off nicely on darker nail polish shades. I would advice you to use sheer nail polish, although I would have loved to see the design on red nail polish, too. I will definitively check out some more.

How To Winterize Your Nails

27. January 2015

As you know, here in Germany we are in the midth of winter, which means we have a cold and mostly rainy weather here. You’ll feel such changes during the seasons also on your skin, as it feels drier than usual. And it is not only the skin, but also your hair and nails. Julep, a beauty company for cosmetics, nail color, and skincare, shared their nailcare tips with me and I wanted to share them with you and add some of my own tips on how to winterize your nails, since I really liked the idea of writing a post like this (

How To Winterize Your Nails

So, what are specific nail care advices in order to winterize your nails? First of all, you should not neglate your nails during winter, even if you wear gloves and closed shoes you should still think of your nails. Most important is, to regulary clip and shape your nails. I usually don’t have very long nails and in winter I prefer shorter nails anyways, because of wearing gloves for example. When I’m having long nails they tend to break easily, because they get stuck into the wool of the gloves sometimes. Another very important point is to remove the loose skin and cuticles, if you have any. You can prevent this by moisturizing your hands as often as possible and also using hand or finger masks on a regular basis. I reviewed a nail/finger maks some time ago, which I really liked for this purpose. You can check out my review on Etude House Help My Finger Nail Finger Pack here. Here is a list of some helpful tips on how to winterize your nails:

How To Winterize Your Nails

Recently, I discovered some Korean handcreams which I really like and love to use often in these colder days. Below you’ll see my two favourite hand creams, the Etude House Missing U hand cream, which comes in an adorable container and smells of roses, and the Shib Jang Ceng Chun Ji Heang hand cream, which was part of the MeMeBox Oriental Medicine. The latter contains ginseng extracts, shea butter and olive oil and feels really nourishing. If you feel your nails are still dry desprite using hand creams, I can recommend you to use nail oil. I bought one from a local drug store from the brand p2. It is called One Drop Fitness Oil and contains soy, sweet almond and sunflower oil for deep nourishment and hydration.

How To Winterize Your Nails

Even though it might be that we wear gloves I use nail polish from time to time. My best tip for you in cold seasons is to use a nail polish drier. It reduces the time of your nail polish to dry largely. I discovered the Etude House Help My Finger Quick Drop Drier some time ago and it belongs to my favourite items now.

How To Winterize Your Nails

Here are some color inspirations for your winterized nails. You can get these specific colors from Julep. I never tried their nail polishes, but I’ve read positive reviews about them. I really do like the colors Joanne and Shari, because they look like they go well with almost every style. In general, I think you never can go wrong with a classic red nail polish for every season of the year. In the image above I used Etude House Play nail polish in shade 52.

Review: Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

5. December 2014

A while ago Etude House released an adorable nail polish line called Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails. There was a “Sweet Idea” competition called out by Etude House and the fans could participate and send in their suggestions. One of them was selected and realized. I really think this is a great idea to involve the fans of Etude House by such competitions, and I have to say that this line truly is a cute gift idea– or maybe also a treat for yourself….:)

Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

First of all, some words about Etude House: Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adoreable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging…Also here, the packaging design looks lovely. The Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails set consists of two nail polish bottles, each designed like one half of a rabbits face. Together they form the complete rabbit. There are 5 different sets available, each rabbit face has another facial expression though:

No. 01 Dalmatian Bunny : Black Bunny Glitter + White French
No. 02 Analog Bunny : White Bunny Glitter + Black French
No. 03 Pink Milky way Bunny : Lavender Pink + Silver Spangle French
No. 04 Red Carrot Bunny : Cherry Red + Shimmering Gold French
No. 05 Mint Gold Moon Bunny : Retro Mint + Jewel Gold Pearl Powder

I selected No. 04, because I think the red and gold combination is best suited for the upcoming festative season :)

Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

As you can see, the packaging design is really pretty and everybody loving these cute packaging designs will fall in love with it. Each of the two nail polish bottles contains 4 ml of product. The backside of the cardboard box contains description in Korean and in English, but you can also find these information on the official global webpage of Etude House. You will also find the ingredients there :)

Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

Even removed from the cardboard box the bottles look adorable ♥

Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

The two nail polish bottles come with two different brushes: The red polish has a normal polish brush. The golden polish has a thin brush and you can draw easily dots or lines with it. I really like this idea. I used the nail polish in the picture below and I applied one layer of the red nail polish. As you can see the color is opaque. It also dries in a good time (it is not super quickly drying, but it doesn’t take long time either).

Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails

I think the Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny Nails are a cute gift idea. I don’t have any complaints about these and they do a good job as nail polish. The thin brush for one of the polishes makes it easy to do some nail art, if you like, too. I received mine from  KollectionK for 7.10 US$, but it is sold out there at the moment. You can also get this from testerkorea for 4500 Won (around 4,50 US$). What do you think of the Sweet Idea competition?

♥ PS: Check out my post on Beautiful AM Moisturizer and PM Vitalizer. There is a giveaway for you, too :) ♥

Review: Etude House Help My Finger Part 2

14. November 2014

Yesterday, I introduced to you the Etude House Help My Finger Quick Drop Dry and today I’ll show you the second review from Etude House’s nail care line, the Etude House Help My Finger Nail Finger Pack. This is similar like a sheet mask, only it is designed for pampering your poor old nails and letting them recover from nail polish sessions :)

First of all, some words about Etude House: Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adoreable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging…Also here, the packaging design looks lovely, displaying a nail with a happy face probably relaxing while being pampered. Scalloped pink borders all around the cardboard box frame this to an even more cute packaging. :)

The  nail packs come in a sachet divided into two parts, one containing the finger packs for the left hand, the other for the right hand. You can tear the packaging open easily by using the indicated arrows. The backside of the sachet contains detailled product descriptions in Korean and in English. You can find the ingredients listed >>here<<. Mostly, the ingredients are safe and green flagged according to COSDNA. There are some plant and fruit extracts for nourishment of the nails and also Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, which has whitening properties.

Below you’ll see the application on my hand. The first image shows my hand before I used the Etude House Help My Finger Nail Finger Pack. I just removed nail polish and my hand feels a bit dried up. In the second image you’ll see the tip of my fingers coated by the packs. It is like sheet mask socks on each of my fingers. These caps are covering half of my finger, so people with long fingers will also be able to use it. Also, as you can see, there is also space left in each cap for those with bigger hands (any male reader amongst us?!). In the last image you see my fingers after removing the caps (after around 15 minutes).

As you can see, the tips are soaked nicely with essence. The essence is a milky type and smells of fruity yoghurt, which I like personally. Also, the sachets contain a lot of excess essence, you can use it on other days, like a hand cream…if you press on the opened sachet parts it will stick together tightly and be even usable after some weeks (that’s what I discovered at least while tidying up my room ^_^’). The finger packs have a rough and a smooth side. The smooth side is for pampering you nail, the rough side for the other side of you finger. I didn’t know what function it has, except of trying to make your life easier in these 15 minutes while using you hands.

It takes a couple of seconds for the moisture to fully absorb, but your skin feels super soft afterwards. I must say it has a tiny sticky feeling to it though, but if you use it before going to bad it will hardly disturb you. It was a bit tricky to separate the single caps from each other when I took them out of the sachet. Especially the second hand is difficult, if you already hooded your other hand before. But nevertheless it was a nice experience and my nails were happy about the pampering time. Next I would love to try a full hand mask :) I received mine from  KollectionK for 1.69US$. I think the price is very reasonable.

Review: Etude House Help My Finger Part 1

13. November 2014

My next posts will be about two products from the Etude House Help My Finger line, which are designed to provide your poor and neglated nails some care. If there is a perfect time for nailcare, it must be towards autumn and winter, like it is here in Europe at the moment ;D The first product I’ll review today is the Etude House Help My Finger Quick Dry Drop. Honestly, I never used a nail polish drying drop before, so I’m even more overwhelmed by the power of “technology”, if it might be called like that XD How did I survive all these years using nail polish without such a quick drier?!

Etude House Help My Finger

First of all, some words about Etude House: Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adoreable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging…Also here, the packaging design looks lovely, displaying a nail with a happy face probably relaxing while being pampered. Scalloped pink borders all around the cardboard box frame this to an even more cute packaging. :) This product will help you to make your nailpolish dry faster. Actually, after some seconds you can already touch your nails.

Etude House Help My Finger

The cardboard box contains a lot of description, mostly it is written in Korean, but on one side you’ll find the English description, ingredients and directions, too. The product itself contains 10 ml and can be used for 12 months after opening. The ingredients of this product are safe according to COSDNA. You can check it up >>here<<.

Etude House Help My Finger

The bottle of the Etude House Help My Finger Quick Dry Drop is made of clear (I think it is) glass with a cap which is a pipette or dropper at the same time. The nob for soaking in the product is made of a harder plastic and  you need to sqeeze it some times until you know what pressure it needs. The solution of the drier is a clear one. You need one drop per nail, maybe two if you use it on your thumb.

As soon as you drop the solution onyour polished nails it spreads on the whole nail super fast. The nailpolish dries and you can use your hands again without being worried about strange marks on the nail polish. Usually, this always happens to me, because I’m not very patient with nailpolish, so you can gues what a big discovery this was for me.

Apart from being amazed about the magic work of a nailpolish drier it is also nice that the nails do not feel dry after using but moisturized. I’m really happy about the product and I can recommend you to get your own Quick Dry Drop :D I received mine from  KollectionK for 5.82US$ which is quite affordable for being such a time saver :)
