Review: Jumiso Have A Good Cream Snail & Centella

25. April 2021

// SKINCARE / PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY //

This review of the Jumiso Have a Good Cream Snail & Centella is long overdue,  but I enjoyed this moisturizer so much, that I wanted to share my opinion with you nonetheless. It is a deeply hydrating moisturizer suited for all skin types and day and night use.

Jumiso Have A Good Cream Snail & Centella

The Korean brand Jumiso is part of the brand Helloskin and is directed towards meeting all consumer needs. Their brand name is composed of  “Ju” for ” to give”, and “miso” for “smile”. This is even visualized in their smiling brand logo. To me, the brand is probably best and widely known for the All Day Vitamin Brightening & Balancing Facial Serum, which has been loved by many within the skincare enthusiast community. But today, I will talk about this wonderful cream called Jumiso Have A Good Cream.

Jumiso Have A Good Cream Snail & Centella

This hydrating and soothing cream is directed towards all skin types and for use during night and day. It is a very simple cream, but this makes it probably so much more worth a try.  Noteworthy are the two focus ingredients, that are snail secretion filtrate and Centella Asiatica extract. The snail extract delivers great hydration and anti-inflammatory properties, while the Centella extract also helps to repair the skin.

Snail Secretion Filtrate

Snail Mucus or snail secretion filtrate claims to be rich in hyaluronic acid and antioxidants and thus help our skin to regenerate stimulating the formation of collagen, elastin, and dermal components that repair the signs of photoaging. Also, it claims to minimize the damage generated by free radicals that are responsible for premature skin aging (there is a Wikipedia entry for snail mucus, too). The snail mucus is not obtained by harming the snails, but it is collected in so-called snail farms.

Centella Asiatica

Centella Asiatica extracts have been used in traditional medicine and are still used today, having beneficial properties like wound-healing. Scientific studies have shown that continuous application of the extract can promote collagen-building, act anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidative. The purified extract of Centella Asiatica is called TECA. It is a standardized extract composed of Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, and Madecassic acid. It is used in skincare targeting wound-healing, scarred skin, sensitive skin, but also seems to be effective on cellulite.

Jumiso Have A Good Cream Snail & Centella

Apart from these two ingredients, the composition of the cream is paraben-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free, and free from allergens according to the EU. Furthermore, it contains panthenol and hyaluronic acid, which are both known for their wound-healing and hydrating properties. I also spotted bacillus ferment and oils (macadamia and jojoba) among the ingredients:

Water, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Squalane, Centella Asiatica Extract, Bacillus Ferment, 1-2,Hexanediol, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Olivate, Dimethicone, Trehalose, Arachidyl Alcohol, Sorbitan Olivate, Arginine, Carbomer, Cyclopentasiloxane, Panthenol, Caprylyl Glycol, Behenyl Alcohol, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Polysilicone-11, Arachidyl Glucoside, Ethylhexylglycerin, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Allantoin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Mentha Haplocalix Extract, Snail Secretion Filtrate, Menthyl Lactate, Disodium EDTA, Backhousia Citriodora Leaf Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Asiaticoside, Madecassic Acid, Asiatic Acid, Beta-Glucan

Jumiso Have A Good Cream Snail & Centella

Jumiso Have A Good Cream Snail & Centella

The texture of the cream is like you’d expect it to be. A white-colored cream, that is not as stiff as Nivea, for example, but glides softly and feels very moisturizing and melty. It absorbs nicely and doesn’t pill when using sunscreen or BB creams on top. I used up the 50g of cream in such a short time because my skin loved it so much- and of course, it worked great during the day, but also for the night-time routine. Since my skin is dry, I definitely enjoyed all the hydrating properties of the cream, but the soothing properties were a plus during the night. I also mixed drops of oil into the cream for my night routine, to make it even richer.

Jumiso Have A Good Cream Snail & Centella

If you have a dry skin type like me, I can assume, that you will like this cream. Also, if you are looking for minimal skincare products, this cream is a good choice, because it works during morning and evening skincare routines and contains hydrating and repairing properties. I discovered, that the design of the jar has been changed a bit, but the content is still the same. At YesStyle it retails for around 19 US$. You can also use my code BERRIES for up to a 5% discount on your order. Also, check out my Coupons & Discount page for more and up-to-date deals.

Review: A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream | TesterKorea Beauty Tester

3. October 2018

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / SKINCARE //

I received a few items from TesterKorea within the frame of their Beauty Tester Event. This one was the only skincare related product within the bundle I received, the A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream! Tea and water sound definitely like my cup of tea XD ! This gel cream uses green tea extract and comes packed with a lot of moisture and can be used as a regular moisturizer or as a sleeping mask!

A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream

First, some information about TesterKorea: if you know me and my blog for some time you will know that TesterKorea is my favorite online retailer for larger KBeauty hauls. I’ve purchased products from them many times and they never failed me. Also, they are quite popular for offering many free samples and having a LARGE variety of samples for sale as well. If you do not know a specific product and you want to test it I can recommend you TesterKorea. Also, they have a huge amount of different products from many brands, so you can be sure to find what you are looking for in most cases. Unlike other online retailers they do not offer free shipping, though, but their shipping is based on weight. The cheap prices of the products themselves totally balances out the shipping costs in my eyes – especially for larger hauls. They even have a specific topic where you can request a product if it is newly launched. They are also quite fast in listing the latest products from most brands. Considering the fact that I know they are a reliable retailer and have a good reputation makes me even more happy that I’m part of their new Beauty Tester round-up.

A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream

A;T Fox is not the most famous KBeauty brand, but it has a good reputation and some really cute designs, too. I had 3 cupcake shaped creams back in the days of the MeMeBox craze, and I loved the tiny cute jars! The brand has a lot of products containing tea, btw!

A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream

The jar of A;T Foc Tea Toc Water Cream comes in a cardboard box. Both have a very cute design with leaves and green colors, which fit great with the key ingredient green tea. Also, look at the beautifully illustrated lid of the jar! It looks very pretty!

A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream  A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream

The ingredients of the  A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream are listed below:

Water, Isopentyldiol, Glycerin, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Butylene Glycol, Betaine, Allantoin, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Disodium EDTA, Benzyl Glycol, Butoxydiglycol, Raspberry Ketone, 1,2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance

According to SkinCarisma, the cream is paraben-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free and silicone-free! There are also a bunch of plant-based extracts, like green tea, Centella, licorice, aloe, rosemary, and chamomile! All these plant-based extracts come with notable properties for skin care. As you might know, Licorice is good for fighting acne because of its anti-inflammatory effects. Moreover, it has brightening properties. Centella has wound-healing properties and acts soothing and is one of my favorite ingredients atm (check out other products containing Centella Asiatica >>here<<). Aloe, chamomile, and allantoin all have soothing properties, too, and help with moisturizing the skin.

A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream  A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream

The A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream comes in a big jar containing 100ml of the gel-type moisturizer. It comes with a spatula for keeping the jar as hygienic as possible, which is important for big product sizes in my eyes. The gel texture feels cooling and refreshing, which I always love about products with that kind of texture. The plant-based extracts even promote this freshness and cooling effect!

A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream  A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream

The gel melts into water while applying it and has a pleasant fresh scent, that is not overpowering. It absorbs very quickly and soaks into the skin without leaving greasiness or a sticky after effect. I love the way that it feels like nothing on the skin! This makes the cream also a great sleeping mask! Usually, for daily use, I would use a good dollop of the cream to apply all over my face. When using this as a sleeping mask I simply take the double amount and apply it. It feels so refreshing! Since there is no trace or film I can imagine that the product is even great for all skin types. It may not be nourishing enough for very dehydrated skin types though who prefer heavy creams.

A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream  A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream

The A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream is a nice 2 in 1 product that can be used as a daily moisturizer, but also as a sleeping pack. It has refreshing and cooling properties and the soothing effects of the plant extracts make it great for sensitive and irritated skin types. It may be not rich enough for very dehydrated and dry skin types seeking more nourishment, but I can imagine that this is a great moisturizer for hot and humid weather. If you like lightweight moisturizers that don’t leave a film or trace and are simply absorbed you will love this!

The A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream retails for 14400Won at TesterKorea, which makes around 14 US$.

Do you prefer gel type ord cream type moisturizers? Are you familiar with A;T Fox?

Review: Olivarrier Emollient Extra Comfort Cream

24. April 2017

Let’s  continue my brand introduction for Olivarrier! You might have seen it in my Instagram popping up occasionally and finally I have some time to write up the reviews for it. I received a couple of products, courtesy of Olivarrier, and I already reviewed the Olivarrier Gentle Glow Seed Polishing Mask before. Today, I will be talking about the Olivarrier Emollient Extra Comfort Cream:

Olivarrier Emollient Extra Comfort Cream

Olivarrier is a new Korean beauty brand focusing on the key ingredient in their product, which is olive squalane. The name is a mix of “olive” and “barrier”, since the olive squalane in their skincare products is supposed to moisturize and penetrate the skin and helping to protect its natural moisture barrier.

Olivarrier Emollient Extra Comfort Cream

Olive Squlane

What is olive squalane exactly? First of all, there is squalene and squalane. Squalene occurs widely within animals and plants, since it is part of the synthesis of sterols. It occurs in our sebum for example. But also in plant oils and in a high concentration it is also found in shark liver. Squalene is unsaturated and therefore it oxidizes easily. In order to prevent oxidization squalene is hydrogenated leading to saturated and stable squalane. Olive squalane is an animal friendly alternative of using squalane derived from sharks for example and has the same benefits for skin. Squalane is a great emollient, humectant and suited for sensitive skins by being non-irritating.

When I heard about the brand first time on Fiftly Shades of Snail I was attracted especially about the word “olive”, but also because of the simple and minimalistic design of the products. They have a beautiful skincare range that you can check out on their official web page (unfortunately, the last days it seems to be not available). It consists of a cleansing bar, a toner, and essence, two different creams, and the mask I’m showing you here.

Olivarrier Emollient Extra Comfort Cream

The Olivarrier Emollient Extra Comfort Cream comes in a simple white cardboard box with descriptions in Korean and English. It is a skin-barrier strengthening cream designed for dry and sensitive skintypes containing 5 % of panthenol. The cream itself comes in a tube, which I personally prefer over jars.

Olivarrier Emollient Extra Comfort Cream

Olivarrier Emollient Extra Comfort Cream is weak acid based (pH 5.5), free from chemical preservatives (parabens & phenoxyethanol), moreover, it is fragrance-free, coloring-agent free and dermatologically tested. The ingredients are:

Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Panthenol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Glycerin, Squlane (Olive Sqialane), Cerearyl Alcohol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Madecassoside, Allantoin, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Arginine, Ceramide NP, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitane Olivate, Carbomer, Octyldodecanol, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Cetearyl Glucoside, Oryza Sativia (Rice) Bran Wax, Camellia Sinsenis Leaf Extract, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Ectract, Dodecane, Isohexadecane, Isoeicosane, Octodecane, Tetradecane, Dimethicone, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Ectract, Disodium EDTA, Potassium Hydroxide, Tocopheryl Acetate, Butylene Glycol, Glucose, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Linoleic Acid

Olivarrier Emollient Extra Comfort Cream

You can check the single ingredients >> via COSDNA here <<. Most of the ingredients in this cream are safe to use, but there are some potential irritants marked aswell. Many of the ingredients are moisturizing ones, like panthenol, shea butter, olive oil, avocado oil, camellia oil, olive squalane, ceramide and hyaluronic acid. Apart from all these moisturizing ingredients, the cream also contains Madecassoside,  triterpenoid compound found in Centella asiatica. Madecassoside has anti-inflammatory, wound healing, and anti-oxidant activities. It is supported by Allantoin, which also has wound-healing and cell-regererating properties. However, for those avoiding silicons and silicon-based products, the cream also contains Dimethicone, a silicon-based oil.

Olivarrier Emollient Extra Comfort Cream

The texture of the Olivarrier Emollient Extra Comfort Cream is like you expect from a moisturizer. The white cream emollifies quickly upon application and absorbs, leaving the skin non-sticky and non-greasy. It leaves a cooling sensation behind after it absorbed. The cream is scentless, too. I absolutely cannot say anything negative about my experience with this cream, while using it during daytime. It didn’t irritate my skin, and it works well with makeup, too. My skin feels sufficiently moisturized, too.

Olivarrier Emollient Extra Comfort Cream

The only downside for the Olivarrier Emollient Extra Comfort Cream which I can thing of is that it contains the silicon-oil Dimethicone, which some people would love to avoid. Other than that the ingredients list is really to the point perfect for moisturizing and soothing skin and I can imagine that sensitive skintypes, and people with dry and irritated skin might love this cream. There is another cream from Olivarrier, called Dual Moist Comfort Cream. I think that cream is lighter than the Emollient Extra Comfort Cream, but I didn’t try it yet. The tube of the cream is grey instead of green and can therefore be easily distinguished from each other. You can buy the Olivarrier Emollient Extra Comfort Cream from RoseRoseShop for 19600Won (~20 US$).

Did you try any of the products from the brand Olivarrier already? What is your opinion about silicons and silicon-based ingredients in cosmetics?

Review: Swanicoco Flower Silk Cream

19. March 2017

// PR SAMPLE / SKINCARE / AFFILIATE LINKS //

End of last year I was also contaced by another new Korean brand called Swanicoco. I wrote some emails with the company and I received such a detailed insight into the brand and their products which made me really fascinated. After they asked for my skin type I received a recommendation of what products would suit me best. The Swanicoco Flower Silk Cream I’m reviewing today is one of the products they send to me, together with so many additional products and samples that I was really amazed and thankful!

Swanicoco Flower Silk Cream

First of all, Swanicoco is a Korean brand that stared off its business by creating naturally fermented soaps. Now, they have a huge range of products including skincare and make up products, but still all the products share the same believe in natural ingredients excluding artificial and chemical components. Swanicoco uses grains, fruits, herbs and oriental medicine materials as raw materials for their fermentation. By fermenting the products they can be much more easily absorbed into the skin, help retaining moisture and improve damaged skin. They state that instead of using purified water like in most exsiting cosmetics, Swanicoco has replaced the water with ferment filtrate. Additionally, pigments, synthetic perfumes, chemical preservatives, alcohol, mineral oil, paraben and benzophenones have been excluded from their products. Oh, and they are also free from animal testing!

Swanicoco Flower Silk Cream

The brand name Swanicoco is derived from the word “swan” and the term “coco”. “Swan” referrs to the elegance and feminine aspects of the bird we probably all now. “Coco” refers to the coconut, representing the natural ingredients. In the logo of the brand you will find the word “natural”, which refers to the brand as being a natural cosmetics brand. There is also a peony blossom in the middle of the logo  that stands for richness and splendor.

Swanicoco Flower Silk Cream

The Swanicoco Flower Silk Cream is a moisturizing cream, perfectly suited for dry skin types, bringing elasticity and hydrate the skin. It contains yeast ferment filtrate instead of water, and Niacinamide, Glycerin, Panthnol and Shea Butter as moisturizing ingredients. It also contains Silk Amino Acids and Peptides to boost the skin with elasticity. You can check the ingredients via COSDNA and mostly they are safe to use and only few potential irritants have been labelled.

Swanicoco Flower Silk Cream

The Swanicoco Flower Silk Cream comes in a cardboard box. The cream is delivered in a tube containing 20 ml. I love it when moisturizers come in tubes. It is so much easier to squeeze them out and still be hygienic, without having to handle it with a spatula or spoon (Also, if the ingredients are prone to oxidization it keeps them better safe than jars do). Oh, and on the cardboard box you will also see the logo that I described earlier :D

Swanicoco Flower Silk Cream

What makes the Swanicoco Cream unique is its texture. It has a sticky texture remindig of spider web, which leads to long strands of cream if you squeeze it between your fingers. The reason for it is the peptide ingredient. On the skin it forms a protective shield and also gives back elasticity to your skin. Another thing is the flowery scent, which is really lovely and directly connects to the name. Although the cream can be used day and night I love using it during day-time. Despite being moisturizing I love that the finish of this cream is silky smooth. At first you might think that the cream has a dewy and slightly sticky finish. It gives the skin a moist and sparkling look – not greasy at all. After it absorbs fully the finish is satin-like, but still ou feel your skin has gained the necessary moisture it need during a regular day, also it feels more tight. There is still a tiny bit of tackyness left, but not of the unpleasant kind.

Swanicoco Flower Silk Cream

I espescially love that unique texture of the Swanicoco Flower Silk Cream. It has a lovely scent and contains nice ingredients, and if you don’t have a proer day-time moistuizer I can recommend you to try this one. It has a lovely scent contains nice and natural ingredients, plus it comes in a size that is realistic to be used up too. The only downside for me is the price that lies around 36 US$. I’ve been using this cream for 2 months now (alternating with another moisturizer during day time) and I didn’t experience any breakouts or problems at all. Still, each skin might react differently, so in case you will be tring out this cream, please to a patch test before starting to use it, just to be sure. You can also find Swanicoco products at W2Beauty.

You can also use these coupon codes until end of 2017 for a discount:

Review: Kicho Sheep Oil Cream

23. April 2016

By now anybody familiar with asian beauty products has become familiar with strange or unusual ingredients, like snail mucus, donkey milk or horse oil. If you are crazy about trying products like this (or simply curious) I have another one for you here: the Kicho Sheep Oil Cream! But before the animal lovers will scream and run I can assure you that no animal have been harmed for the production of this cream. I must admit that I was eyeing the products from this brand for a long time and I was really thrilled to receive it by BNTnews this month, so let’s get right into the review:

Kicho Sheep Oil Cream

Kicho cosmetics is a Korean brand and has the saying “We provide pure nature greatness to your skin”. I read so many reviews on their products, especially the sheep oil ones, and I hope I will be able to try more from this brand in future to get a better inside into this brand. First of all, I love the design of the packaging of the Kicho Sheep Oil Cream. It looks elegant and feminine on the same time with a beautiful flower printing. The cardboard box is not only pretty from the outside, but even inside the box the beauty continues: The flower pattern continues inside and reveals a beautiful, square glass jar with a metal lid with a vintage imprint on it.

Kicho Sheep Oil Cream

There is also a holographic authentication sticker on the cardboard box, to make sure that you have bought an original cream from Kicho.

Kicho Sheep Oil Cream

The bottom part of the cardboard box contains descriptions about the product in English and in Korean. Some sheep illustrations add a bit of cuteness to the packaging here. The ingredients are listed on the bottom of the box and they are also included in COSDNA if you want to take a closer look. The key ingredient is Lanolin made from pure Lanolin from New Zealand lamb wools purified with German Technology. So what is Lanolin exactly?

Lanolin

Lanolin is also called wool wax and is produced by the sebaceous glands of sheep to protect their wool from getting wet and protects the sheep from climate and weather. Actually, it is obtained by cleaning the obtained freshly shorn wool from sheep, so you do not need to fear that animals are harmed for obtaining lanolin and the name sheep oil is a bit misleading here because one thinks of horse oil directly. Also, as you might have thought first, Lanolin is not a new fancy ingredient but has been used for more than hundred years and cosmetics and pharmaceutical products. Also, thinking of Lanolin as fat is also not correct, because it lacks glycerides, but contains of sterol esters instead. By hydrolizing lanolin you will obtain lanolin alcohols, which are rich in cholesterol, and lanolin acids. 40 % of the lanolin acids are AHA’s (alpha hydroxy acids)! Also, studies have shown that Lanolin has chemical and physical similarities to human stratum corneum (the skin layer you actually see when looking at your skin) lipids. These lipids regulate the hydration state of your skin. So lanolin is great to protect your skin from water-loss and it also is a great skin softener. Also, since it has semiocclusive properties your skin can still breath. And on top of that the healing properties of lanolin are great and it helps to recover rough and dry, itching and cracking skin better than glycerin or petroleum. Nevertheless, it still might be that you react allergic to lanolin, so be sure to patch test products before using them.

Kicho Sheep Oil Cream

They combined the Lanolin with multivitamins from 8 types of berries from all over the world: Cranberry, Blueberry, Strawberry, Goji Berry, Blackberry, Raspberry, Sea Buckthorn, and Acai Berry. Berries are rich in anti-oxidants, which are great for the skin, and add to moisturize and brighten up the skin. The cream is free from fragnance, paraben, mineral oil, steroids, formaldehyd or chemical preservatives. Instead it contains the natural preservative totarol. Totarol was isolated for the first time from heartwood of Podocarpus totara, a yew tree found in New Zealand. Totarol has antimicrobial properties.

Kicho Sheep Oil Cream

Unfortunately, the cream doesn’t come with a spatula, but you can simply use a small spoon or similar. I think it is especially important to work with clean fingers or spoons here, since it does not contain chemical preservatives. The light-yellow cream has a rich and balmy texture, which melts off into the skin easily and absorbs without leaving the skin greasy. It has a nice citrus scent, too. It feels really hydrating for the skin and I applied some on my dry elbows and felt how instantly softening the cream was. It makes the skin feel considerably smoother and more supple and the effect lasts for hours, too. Also, a little of this cream goes a long way so it will last you some time, too.

Kicho Sheep Oil Cream

My final verdict is that I’m in love! This cream makes my skin supple and soft and most important my skin feels like this for hours. I think that the effects of the Lanolin show off pretty nicely in this cream and all in all the whole combination of ingredients works great. Since the ingredients list is not free of minor irritants it is import to check for yourself whether these ingredients suit your skin or not, but I can give dry skin types having troubles with itchy or cracky skin some thumbs up and encourage you to consider a moisturizer containing lanolin for your skin. For some people the balmy texture might appear to rich, although it really is not leaving a greasy residue, but still for those this cream might work great as semiocclusive cream in the night-time routine. You can get this cream from the official Kicho Store for 58 US$ or from Amazon US for 59.99 US$, or from Cupidrop for 58 US$. As you can see the main downside is the price, but this tends to be usual for products containing Lanolin…

Unboxing: Mishibox November 2015

2. December 2015

And here is another unboxing, but this time I’m super excited to introduce to you my first ever Mishibox! Yeeeii! I was eagerly waiting for the moment Mishi Box would start shipping to europe and finally I’m able to try them on my own! This monthly Korean beauty subscription box is packed with with a combination of 4 – 6 deluxe-sized samples and full-sized Korean beauty products from a wide range of Korean brands. Today I present you the content of the Mishibox November 2015:

Mishibox November 2015

MISHIBOX is a U.S.-based online retailer providing a wide selection of Korean beauty products. Apart from their online store they also offer a monthly Korean beauty subscription service that delivers a combination of 4-6 deluxe-sized samples and full-sized Korean beauty products. This way they are trying to help you to discover your favorite Korean beauty products. Their aim is to make Korean beauty products easily accessible to everyone regardless of where you live or what language you speak. Mishi (pronounced “me-she”) is their bunny mascot! When I first discovered about Mishibox I directly subscribed for their newsletter, because they planned to deliver worldwide one day. When I received their Email that finally Mishibox was shipping to Germany aswell I was sooo happy! And here it is finally, my first Mishibox:

Mishibox November 2015

The pink box was filled with 6 products in total, 2 of these being sample sized products, one mini-sized product and 3 products in full-size. Each box comes with a product description card, which is very detailed and even reminds us how we can distinguish between expiration and manufactured date and were we can find the list of translated ingredients. I really like the effort they put into the box by translating all the ingredients for example. You can even participate in a Mishibox Selfie Contest in order to win something! So lovely!

Mishibox November 2015

The theme of the Mishibox November 2015 was snail mucin. Two of the full-sized products are using snail mucin in their ingredients list. The variety of different brands in this box is nice, too: we have known brands like Etude House, Tonymoly and Secret Key, but also less known brands like D’Ran and White Cat. The product types are also versatile. Although all the products are skin care items you will find a cleanser, a sheet mask, a cream, a toner and emulsion, and an eye cream. It’s almost a complete skin care routine! Below I will go into the details of each of the products. Nevertheless, I will do a full review once I’ve used the products for some time.

Mishibox November 2015

The main product for me was the D’Ran Wonder Snail Treatment Cream. This nutrience-rich and highly moisturizing cream is perfect for upcoming winter days. Snail mucin is the key ingredient here and it contains 10% of it. Some other nice ingredients of this cream are Glycerin, Silkworm Cocoon Extract, Niacinamide, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Panthenol, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (jojoba) Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Camellia Sinensis Callus Culture Extract and Human Oligopeptide-1 (also called EGF). The jar comes with 100g of content in a beautiful jar, too. It retails for 43 US$ which is super expensive, but it makes me even more happy to find this in a 20 US$ subscription box! I’m looking forward to use this cream, especially since I already tried a product from D’Ran before and was happy with it. Other than the one product from the past, this brand is hardly known to me.

The second item containing snail mucin is the Secret Key Snail + EGF Repairing Eye Cream. This eye cream is supposed to be very popular and it comes in a typical eye cream type. Snail secretion filtrate and EGF are the key ingredients here aswell, but it also contains some plant and fruit extracts and even some fermented plant extract. The tube contains 30 g and retails for 17 US$.

Mishibox November 2015

I was very happy to spot a sheet mask from the new brand White Cat. I just recently reviewed their eye balm and this is now the second product I can try from this brand. There were three types of this sheet mask which were selected randomly for each Mishibox in November. I received the White Cat Charcoal Pore Tightening Mask, which is directed towards pore care as the name already suggests. The masks from White Cat are free from paraben, mineral oil, benzophenone, petrolatum, imidazolidinyl, urea, talc, silphate and BHT. and I’m still loving their logo with the white cat :D The White Cat sheet masks retail for 3 US$.

Mishibox November 2015

The Tonymoly Fresh Cleansing Tissues in Mishibox November 2015 are provided in a miniature size. These water-type facial cleansing tissues contain baking powder for removing makeup and I’m not sure whether I like that or not, since baking powder is usually drying on my skin. But it also contains 5 natural oil ingredients to moisturize and nourish the skin. I will definitively try these, but I’m not sure whether I will like them or not. :D This small packaging of 15 tissues retails for 5 US$.

The last two items in Mishibox November 2015 were the two sample sized bottles from Etude House Age Defense line: there is a bottle of the Age Defense Essential Softener and a bottle of the Age Defense Essential Emulsion. I love these kinds of miniature bottles, especially for travelling! I didn’t try any products from Etude House’s Age Defense line yet, so I’m curious about these, too!

Mishibox November 2015
My first impression of Mishibox and their subscription box is very positive. Although all the products in their November box were skin care products there for items for almost all skin care routine steps. The themed ingredient snail mucin was included by two full-sized products containing snail mucin. The variety of brands was well balanced with known and unknown Korean cosmetic brands. The total value of 68 US$ for a subscription box sold at 19.95 US$ is awesome! If you are interested in Mishibox you can use my referral ID and get a discount code for $5 USD off your order (min. $30 USD) for your first purchase. At the moment their box subscription is closed due to high demand, but you can put your name on the waiting list. Mishibox also has a product store where you can buy a specific product, too. Until 4ths of December they are having Blackfriday sales with up to 30% off by using the coupon BFSALE2015. Did you try Mishibox already? How do you like their subscription box? Did you know any of the products I received?

Review: The Skin House Face Calming Galactomyces Cream

12. May 2015

My last review on a daily moisturizing cream lies months back (Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream, btw), but today I’m back with another moisturizer I used after I finished the previous one: The Skin House Face Calming Galactomyces Cream. This cream contains galactomyces fermented extracts and is designed to sooth the skin.

The Skin House Face Calming Galactomyces Cream

The Skin House is another Korean brand which was founded in Seoul in 1979. The brand is committed to produce “honest and high quality cosmetics” using natural raw materials. The packaging design of the brand’s products is also simple and pure. The Skin House Face Calming Galactomyces Cream comes in a simple cardboard box with white and salmon/pink colors. There are three types of this kind of facial moisturizer from The Skin House which have different colors each: the Ultra Firming Collagen Rich Cream (yellow), the Hydro Papaya Moisture Cream (blue), and the Face Calming Galactomyces Cream (salmon/pink). The Galactomyces Cream has thereby not only soothing properties, but also gives moisture and has anti-wrinkle properties.

The Skin House Face Calming Galactomyces Cream

The cardboard box contains the descriptions of the product in English and Korean (click on the image below to enlarge). The Skin House has an english brand page, too, but this product is not listed there (I don’t know if it is not popular or if it has been discontinued).  The key ingredients of the cream are of course galactomyces ferment filtrate and yeast extract, but the cream also contains hyaluronic acid and glycerin for moisturizing. Moreover, the cream contains mango seed butter and a couple of other plant extracts. You can check the full ingredients >>here<<. There are some potential irritants, so if you have specific allergic reactions make sure to check the ingredients first.

The Skin House Face Calming Galactomyces Cream

The cream comes in a regular plastic jar, which is very lightweight and contains 30 ml of product. I was really suprised how light the jar was actually, and I think it is perfect for people who travel a lot considering the weight. The lid is nothing special, but a white plastic lid, but the cotainer of the jar is made of a milky kind of salmon/pink plastic which looks quite pretty.

The Skin House Face Calming Galactomyces Cream

The jar is sealed when unopened and contains Korean descriptions on the side and the expiration date on the bottom of the jar.

The Skin House Face Calming Galactomyces Cream

When removing the lid you’ll find a plastic separator, which prevents the cream from leaking out and onto the inside of the lid. The cream itself has a light orange/pink color and  and a soft creamy texture. The scent is a flowery one, but not too heavy.

The Skin House Face Calming Galactomyces Cream

The cream feels very soft and is easily to spread. It melts easily into the skin, leaving it moisturized, but not too heavily. Actually, if you have very dry skin it won’t provide enough moisture, but for oily, normal to lightly dried skin it is enough, especially when wearing this cream during day time and having other moisturizing steps like essences, serums, emulsions and so on. For regular use you don’t need a lot of this cream to cover your face. At night I preferred to slap on a thicker layer of the cream on my face, because it made the skin feels super soft on the next morning. And although using a thicker layer it absorbs comparably fast into the skin. The skin also felt more bouncy afterwards, which was a nice experience.

The Skin House Face Calming Galactomyces Cream

I’ve used the Skin House Face Calming Galactomyces Cream for several weeks now and I’ve just finished the jar and I was really happy with this moisturizer. It made the skin feels soft, but not greasy, absorbed fast, and worked with my makeup.

The Skin House Face Calming Galactomyces Cream

There are no negative points I can make for this cream. Probably, all skintypes can use it, because it is not super matte, not super oily. It contains some great ingredients, makes the skin feel great afterwards and also can be used below other makeup steps. The best part of it: it is not expansive! It retails at testerkorea for 9900 Won (~10 US$) and on ebay for 12 US$. This cream is totally recommended!

Review: Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

10. February 2015

A while ago Wishtrend send me the Klairs Moisture Rescue Set for reviewing purpose, which contained a skincare routine in form of four products from the brand Klairs. As you might have seen from my previous reviews of this brand I really do like their products and this is why I’m really happy to be able to review these items for you. I devided this post into two parts and they gonna be picture-heavy. Yesterday I posted Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 1 about the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner and the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum. Todays review will be on Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2 and I will talk about the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask and the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

Klairs is a Korean brand sold on Wishtrend. It is eco-friendly, claimimg to produce products which are animal-testing-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free, and articial-color-free. Their products adress people with sensitive skin and people who want to moisturize their skin. I reviewed the Klairs Illuminating Supple BB Cream and the Klairs Gentle Black Cleansing Combo before, which both convinced me in their effects. I was interested in this Rescue Moisture Set especially, because as you know, my skin tends to become drier in winter as it is right now. This set consists with everything you need for a solid skincare routine, starting with toner, serum and moisturizer. The mask sheets on top are a great addition for days you want to treat yourself with extra moisture.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

After the toner and the serum application I talked about yesterday we arrive at the most important step in your skincare routine. At least in my opinion a good daily and nighttime moisturizer is the important step I would never miss. The Klairs Rescue Moisture Kit comes also with a moisturizing cream for your skincare routine, the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream. This cream is available from Wishtrend for quite some time, and in contrast to the former versions, the new version of this moisturizing cream contains more product for the same price. The volume changed from 45 ml to 50 ml, which is nice. The Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream is a rich moisturizing cream for normal and dry skintypes. It is designed to give immediate and long-term hydration for a radiant complexion.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

The cream is targeting people who:

– need a moisturizer for your dry skin.
– want a moisturizer cream that reduce’s the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dry rough skin texture.
– want your skin to deliver a soft and glowing appearance
– want the best face moisturizer that will cure skin peeling and flaking.
– want to relieve the feeling of tight itchy dry skin.
– want a moisturizing that has a creamy texture that absorbs evenly into the skin, leaving the skin feeling smooth to touch.
– need a creamy moisturizer to serve as a better, more hydrating base for makeup.

Typically for Klairs products, the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream comes in a cardboard box made of recycled paper. The box contains a detailled description Korean, but it also mentions some of the points which are important for Klairs products in English, like that the product is alcohol-free, artificial color-free, artificial fragnance-free, paraben-free, no animal testing and respect the enviroment.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

The cream itself comes in a jar made of sturdy brown colored plastic. You can see the product through the jar. The design fits to the other Klairs products and I like its simplicity. Unfortunately, the cream doesn’t come with a spatula. The ingredients are listed on Wishtrend and according to COSDNA this cream doesn’t contain any red flagged ingredients. Most of them are green or yellow flagged. There are some ingredients which can be irritating to some people, so please be sure to check the ingredients if you know that you are sensitive to special ingredients. The cream contains Glycerine and Hyaluronic Acid as main moisturizing ingredients, but also a lot of plant extracts. Moreover it contains yeast derived Beta-Glucan, like the other Klairs products I described in the first part of the Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

The label of the jar contains some shorter description, mostly in Korean. Like the other products it also lists an official webpage and an email address for contacting in case of questions etc. I like this idea especially. It even lists a phone number!

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

Below the lid of the jar you’ll find a plastic cover protecting the product from dirt. The production and expiration date is printed on the bottom of the jar.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

The expiration date is in two years, but th shelf-life for the cream after opening is 12 months. The Klairs Rich Moist soothing cream is a cream type moisturizer. The cream has a rich and creamy structure, but melts easily into the skin once distributed. It has a herbal and refreshing scent and feels cooling upon application. Normally, I don’t like herbal scented product, but I must admit that I do like the scent here, maybe also because the product feels refreshing and cooling on the skin. After the cream absorbs it leaves the skin smooth and gives it a moisturizing glow, but no greasyness. I also would say, that despite the fact that the skin looks more glowy the finish of the cream is on the matte side, maybe a bit silky.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

All together, this cream is my favourite from all the products I tested in this Moisture Rescue Kit. I love the finish of the cream and I love the refreshing effect of it. It provides a good amount of moisture for my dry skin, but it is not too much and can also be combined with a second lighter moisturizer like an emulsion if you need more hydration. Also, makeup application afterwards is no problem, since this cream provides a good canvas for other products, too. The jar retails for 23.99 US$ on Wishtrend and I think that it is a normal price for a lot of Korean moisturizing creams. I would not mind a larger volume nevertheless and a spatula. :D

Blog_Rating_KlairsSoothingCream

So, apart from the regular skincare routine steps, like toner, serum and moisturizer, the Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit also came with a couple of sheet masks from Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask. I reviewed these sheet masks previously >>here<<. I think that this moisturizing sheet mask is a perfect masks for using multiple times a week, maybe some of your prefer even a daily use of hydrating masks and this one is definitively a good choice then.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

Similar to the other products of Klairs, the design is simple and contains a lot of text. Here, all the text is written in English on the front side of the sheet mask sachet. The back side contains the description in Korean, but the ingredients are listed in English. You can also check the ingredients on COSDNA. Similar to the toner and the serum it contains one red flagged ingredient, which is the preservative Methylisothiazolinone. The key ingredient of this mask is hyaluronic acid, which is the second ingredient in the list. Apart from this a couple of plant extracts are also part of the ingredients for this mask. It also shows in some images how to use the mask. This sheet mask is an essence type sheet mask made of 100% cotton. It feels very smooth upon application, is soaked well with the essence without being too dripping. It is a refreshing and hydrating mask and you can boost the effect by putting the sheet mask into the fridge before using it, so it has a cooling effect, too.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

I think that this mask is a good every-day mask. It fullfils all the expectations you have for a moisturizing mask. The scent is pleasant and not too strong either. It is also affordable and retails for 1.99 US$ on Wishtrend. If you buy 10 masks you’ll even get 3 for free additionally, and if you buy 20 masks you will get 10 for free. So if you are a daily sheet mask user you can even safe some money here.

Review: Missha Super Aqua Ultra Waterfull Cream and Gel Serum

9. January 2014
As I told before, I’m trying to get rid of all the samples I collected and I discovered that I had a huge pile of Missha Super Aqua Ultra Waterfull Cream and Gel Serum Samples. I used them all last year and now here is my review for them finally :D

Some of you might already know, but I have to mention that I have dry skin, especially in winter like now. I’m always looking for good moisturizing creams and one of my favourite moisturizers is Missha’s Super Aqua Ultra Marine Stem Cell Defending Cream, which was one of my first reviews on this blog :D I had high hopes for this Cream from Missha’s Super Aqua line and I was not disappointed.

I’ll start of with the cream: This cream comes in a jar in full size and looks elegant in my eyes. The sample packaging is not any special, it just shows the image of the full size product on the front. The sample sachets contain only little in my eyes. The ones for the cream contain 1 ml only.
The description on Missha’s Official US page says:
Inspired by the moisture preserving ability of desert plants, the Super Aqua Ultra Waterfull Cream activates the moisture preserving ability to keep skin hydrated throughout the seasons.
The main ingredients are: mineral water, baobab oil, Imperata Cylindrica root extract, Adenium Obesum, jojoba oil and Trehalose. These are natural ingredients which all have moisturizing benefits.

The cream itself has a creamy, thick consistency, in contrast to the Missha super Aqua Marine Stem Cell Defending cream, which was a mixture between a cream and a gel. Due to the consistency of the cream, this product is very rich and a little amount goes a long way. If you use too much, your skin can not absorb it and it will look greasy. With the right amount it absorbs into the skin quickly and really makes the skin feel supple and soft. Actually, the fact that you only need a bit of the product each time, makes the price of the full size product quite okay. Although it is more on the expensive side of moisturizers generally seen. The full sized jar contains 47 ml and costs 30 US$. Like Missha’s Super Aqua Marine Stem Cell Defending Cream it contains a spatula to spoon out the product and keep it more hygienic. The scent of the cream is fresh, but pleasant in my eyes.

Let’s talk about Missha’s Super Aqua Ultra Waterfull Gel Serum now. Missha’s Super Aqua Ultra Waterfull Serum is the perfect serum if your skin is really very dry.

I thought this serum would be more fluid, like water, but it has a semi fluid consistency, like oil for example (but it is not oily!). Thus it is called Gel Serum, I guess ^_^”’ It absorbs super fast into the skin and makes it feel really nice. The skin looks in a way dewy and fresh and the feeling stays throughout the day.

Compared to the cream it is rather scentless, but also here the sample sachet only contains 2 ml which is enough for two times use at the most. The full sized product comes in a tube with a pump, which is convenient for this type of product. It contains 40 ml and costs around US$30. Actually I didn’t find this serum on Missha’s US site.

All in all, If you have dry skin and you are looking for a good moisturizer, this one will not fail you. It makes everything you require from a good moisturizer. If you have oily skin, this line might be to intense/rich for you. The cream is definitely something I personally could buy for myself. since the amount you need to use is rather little, the price is okay all-in-all, although still expansive. I can give these two products only full rating, but considering the price it would have been sad if it was different.
