Review: Eos Jewel Brown Lenses

9. September 2015

This review for Eos Jewel Brown Lenses by KLensPop is super late, similar to my other lens reviews, but I simply didn’t have any access to my old data these past weeks, which makes it super hard to write any reviews at all. Nevertheless, here it is finally!

Eos Jewel Brown Lenses

I wear my regular contact lenses a lot, so my eyes are in general used to wear contact lenses. Some words about my eyes in advance: My prescription is -0.25 and -0.5, which is why I choose plano lenses mostly, because these small steps of prescription are usually not available for fashion lenses. Also, my eyes have astigmatism, which is the reason that lenses which are not adjusted to my base curve might feel uncomfortable more quickly than for normal eyes.

Eos Jewel Brown Lenses

KLensPop kindly send me these lenses and I received lenses from them in the past, but since some time they always send their lenses in these illustrated cardboard boxes, which is a very cute idea. Especially, since the backside of the box contains a cute comic on how to use the lenses. Furthermore, apart from the lens vials, you receive a lens storage container and tweezers. The box also contains instructions inside, also on how to care for your lenses. I love this idea they included into their delivers, since it is very important to take care of your lenses and be hygienic with them. You will put the lenses in your eyes and you don’t want to get an infection there, believe me! (Sometimes it happens nevertheless, that you will get some irritation, but if you see your eyes are getting to red, simply give them a break from lenses until your eyes look normal again)

Eos Jewel Brown Lenses

Eos Jewel Brown are simple soft lenses with a natural pattern. They are manufactured in Korea. You can find the description of the Eos Jewel Brown Lenses >>here<<.

Diameter : 14.0 mm, Graphic Diameter: 13.4 mm
Water Content : 38%
Base Curve : 8.6 mm
Life Span :  6 month using period

Eos Jewel Brown Lenses

Here are my thoughts on the Eos Jewel Brown Lenses:

Design:
The design is natural, but not too special. The dotted pattern blends in nicely with my brown eye-color.
Comfort:
These lenses are quite comfortable, since they are not overly large. I can wear them some time, before my eyes get tired. Probably, on eyes with normal base curve these are very comfortable. I had some problems at the beginning because they didn’t sit properly on my eyeballs.
Enlargement:
The lenses do enlarge slightly, but keep looking natural. It has no dolly effect.

Eos Jewel Brown Lenses

These lenses work nicely with brown/darker eye-colors, but I guess it would look pretty with green colored eyes especially. The hazel-ish brown color makes the eyes pop a bit more than my regular plain brown eyes. It doesn’t look creepy with flash photography either.

Eos Jewel Brown Lenses

And lastly, a selfie showing me wearing the lenses. The lipstick I’m using is Innisfree Color Glow Lipstick by the way. Since it is September it is time for cherry and burgundy shades again. Yeah!

Eos Jewel Brown Lenses

All in all all, these lenses are nice for everyday use and come in a lovely packaging with all the information you need. You can get them from KLensPop for 25 US$. I would rate these lenses 7 out of 10, considering they are not perfect for me because of the base curve, but daily useable delivering a natural but still enhanced look.

Guestpost: Make-up Talks – From Daywear to Evening Wear

12. August 2015

Today I have another guestpost for you. This post about Make-up Talks describes how to transform your daywear to evening wear and has been written by Peter Minkoff, style editor at High Style Life. Enjoy the read!

Make-up Talks – From Daywear to Evening Wear

Make-up Talks - From Daywear to Evening Wear

For all girls who work crazy hours and are professionals at our workplace, but still want to keep our social life going, it’s important we learn how to manage work and fun, all in the same day! And while it seems impossible to look amazing after a 10 hour work day, it all comes down to a few beauty and outfit tricks you need to master.

Assuming your workplace requires casual smart dress code (as most offices do), it won’t be too difficult to manage it all.

As a stylist, I’ve picked up some amazing tricks of the trade that will surely help! Follow this guide I’ve put together and learn some incredible stuff that will keep the glam queen in you ready to rule the dance floor after she’s been leading the team at her workplace the entire day!

Where do I start?

Make-up Talks - From Daywear to Evening Wear

Well, it’s all about the plan. If you know you’ll be going out after work, then dress in such a way that you’ll be able to manipulate your outfit before you go out. Instead of putting on a pencil skirt, opt for super skinny jeans and a jacket over it. Jeans works perfectly and is easy to combine with virtually anything!

The shirt under should be in a neutral color such as nude, beige, white, black to look professional at work and be easy for accessorizing later. Bring statement jewelry with you, you’ll later accessorize this seemingly plain shirt with later. When you leave work, just fold the jacket and put it in your bag. You’ll let the clever jean-shirt-necklace-outfit speak for itself!

What if I was dressed smart and it happens I need to go out later?

Make-up Talks - From Daywear to Evening Wear

In these cases, letting your hair down (literary) and going through it with your fingers, giving it that wild, messy vibe will do the trick. You want to erase that corporate stench off of you and nothing says “cool” better than your flowy locks falling loosely on your shoulders. Also, mind the makeup! Assuming you were in nude tones in your workplace, all it takes is to put a bold lipstick shade on, add a bit of concealer and blush, a fresh coat of mascara and you are ready to go! This is why I always advise girls I style to have their makeup emergency kit with them at all times – blush, concealer, mascara and lipstick in bold color.

If you were in a jacket and shirt, loose the jacket and unbutton the shirt a bit. It’s all it takes!

I usually wear flats to work. What do I do?

Make-up Talks - From Daywear to Evening Wear

If you have the option, and this goes for all situations, keep one pair of pumps in nude or black in your office drawer so you can put them on when you want to go out after work. Heels are pretty uncomfortable to spend eight hours in. You want to look chic, sure, but you want to be comfortable, too. No need to cause yourself pain. Replace your flats with a cool heel, and you are already half way there.

If,  however, you can’t keep shoes in your workplace, bring them with you to work in case you are going out afterwards. Just don’t put them in a plastic, see-through bag, they’ll draw attention.

What about hygiene?

Make-up Talks - From Daywear to Evening Wear

Eight to ten hours in a workplace can be pretty stressful and cause a lot of sweating, maybe even some unpleasant smells. You obviously can’t have your hygiene kit with you at all times BUT what you can do is always have a pack of paper tissues, lip balm, wet wipes and a pack of gums with you. Freshen up with wet wipes, and leave it dry for a second and you’re good to go. If you’ll be going to a party later, don’t forget to carry a decent bag to pack all those hygiene accessories for later. Also, check if there’s anything behind your teeth, then take a gum to freshen up your breath and you are ready to go!

See? It’s all as easy as I’ve promised!

Review: Soufeel Jewelry

22. July 2015

Charm bracelets have gained a lot of popularity in the last years and almost everyone has either heard from or owns products from brands like Pandora or Chamilia. Soufeel Jewelry is similar to the two mentioned brands and offers a wide selection of charm and bracelets with affordable prices.

Soufeel Jewelry

Soufeel was founded in 2011 and works for the slogan “For Every Memorable Day”. They offer charms, beads, bracelets and other accessories. The products are made from 925 sterling silver and the charms can fit Pandora or Chamilia bracelet, too, which makes them a nice and more affordable option for these bracelets in case you own one of these. Moreover, they have over 500 designs of charms, so there is quite a large variety to choose from. It was really hard for me to decide on a couple of charms, since there were quite many pretty ones after all. Nevertheless, in the end I decided for 5 charms and a bracelet.

Soufeel Jewelry

After a while the items arrived and were beautifully packed, too! My Soufeel Jewelry came in a pretty gift box and a bag was included, too. Packed like that it looks like a beautiful present to myself. The Soufeel logo was printed on the giftbox and the bag, too, and gives it some elegant vibe. My selected charms were separately packed in tiny plastic bags inside the gift box, but it just took seconds to arrange everything into the bracelet.

Soufeel Jewelry

Beautiful, isn’t it? I decided for a regular silver bangle bracelet with a barrel clasp. The clasp is super easy to open and to close and stays closed tightly, that you won’t lose your charms. Since the bracelet is very simple it can be worn on its own, too, but of course you can vary it with different charms as well. Let’s take a closer look at the charms I selected now:

Soufeel Jewelry

Soufeel offers really a large selection of charms, so it was not easy to choose, but in the end I decided to go for some red colored charms, like the Red Travel Suitcase and the the Strawberry Pendant. I love strawberries and since it is a pendant you can also wear it with a necklace for example. I also spotted my birthday stone for November, which has champagne colored Swarovski crystals embeded. I love Swarovski crystals, so I’m totally in love with that birthstone. The Starfish Pendant is not really red colored, but more a orange color, nevertheless I think it fits nicely to the suitcase and reminds me of traveling and vacation at the beach. Last but not least, my favourite charm from this selection, the Crown Pendant! It says crown pendant, but for me it is the Frog King pendant and reminds me of the fairytale. The crown on top of the crystal ball looks almost magical to me!

Soufeel Jewelry

Do you see the tiny logo on the barrel clasp of the bracelet? I really love the details here…I would totally like to wear the pendant-type charms as necklaces, too, since the motives are really pretty on their own already, but wearing all of them with the charms bracelet looks pretty, too.

Soufeel Jewelry

I can totally imagine that the variety at Soufeel offers charms for almost every taste and I can recommend you to take a look at their page in case you like charm bracelets. They also have a variety of special offers. When you spend $59 you will receive a pair of free earrings. For $79 purchase you get a free charm and for $99 you get a free sterling silver bracelet! Additionally, Soufeel offers free shipping worldwide with orders over $50 and 365-day return and exchange guarantee. They also have daily deals on some products and a sale selection.

Soufeel Jewelry

I’m very happy with my bracelet and I love the variety Soufeel offers their customers and the possibility to fit the charms with bracelets and/or charms from other companies. If you want to take a look at their products Soufeel offers my readers the coupon code Laven5 and you can enjoy 5% off for any order.

Review: LensVillage The Dolly Eye Candarae ML5 Lenses

22. May 2015

I should have written this review of The Dolly Eye Candarae ML5 lenses in brown much earlier, but my eyes were a bit sensitive recently (due to spring time) and so it took me a bit longer. Finally, here is my review for these lenses, which were kindly send to me by LensVillage.

The Dolly Eye Candarae ML5 Lenses

I wear my regular contact lenses a lot, so my eyes are in general used to wear contact lenses. Some words about my eyes in advance: My prescription is -0.25 and -0.5, which is why I choose plano lenses mostly, because these small steps of prescription are usually not available for fashion lenses. Also, my eyes have astigmatism, which is the reason that lenses which are not adjusted to my base curve might feel uncomfortable more quickly than for normal eyes.

The Dolly Eye Candarae ML5 Lenses

I received these lenses from The Dolly Eye from  Lensvillage. The lenses came in the typical vials, together with a buisness card and an animal lens case. I got the lenses without prescription. The vials are really cute in their design, because of the colors and the hearts on the labels. And I love this hippo lens case ♥

The Dolly Eye Candarae ML5 Lenses

You can find the description of The Dolly Eye Candarae ML5 lenses >>here<<.  They are also available in other colors like blue, grey, green and violet. Here are the properties for the lenses:

Diameter : 14.5 mm
Water Content : 38%
Base Curve : 8.6 mm
Life Span : 1 Year Disposal

The Dolly Eye Candarae ML5 Lenses

Here are my thoughts on The Dolly Eye Casndarae ML5 Lenses:

Design:
The rose pattern all over the lenses is very special and pretty. I had hoped that the pattern would be visible on my eyes, but unfortunately my eyes are too dark. I would have loved if the color of these lenses would have been brighter and more visible on my eyes.
Comfort:
These lenses are quite comfortable, since they are not overly large. I can wear them some time, before my eyes get tired. Probably, on eyes with normal base curve these are very comfortable.
Enlargement:
It has a visible enlargement, but nothing too huge and unnatural. I think this is a good size for people with naturally larger eyes.
Shipping:
Shipping was quick, but it was stuck in the customs this time. If you get standard shipping it will take 3-4 weeks. This is not the fastest shipping I experienced with standard shipping, but neither the slowest. The lenses were packed securely in bubble wrap plastic and they came with a cute animal shape lens case ♥.
Below you will find some pictures on how the lenses look on my eyes:

The Dolly Eye Candarae ML5 Lenses

All in all, these are nice lenses. I the pattern would have been more noticeable they would be great for cosplay, but since the pattern almost dissolves with my natural eyecolor it looks surprisingly natural.

Daniel Wellington Classy Bristol Watch

4. March 2015

Honestly, the last time I was wearing a watch was before I had my first mobile phone. Remember those oldschool Nokia mobiles? Without internet! Almost unbeliveable today…The moment I had my first mobile phone made it unnessasary to me to wear a watch, since I had the time displayed on my mobile anyways. These days I kept on wishing for a classic watch, just for wearing on special occasions for example, when you do not want to grab your phone every few minutes in order to check the time…or even if you do not want to cary your phone out at all. So here is the Daniel Wellington Classy Bristol watch I’m wearing these days and I’m very happy about it!

Daniel Wellington Classy Bristol Watch

Daniel Wellington is a young swedish watch manufacturing company. They focus on producing elegant watches with interchangeable straps. The watch I selected from their online shop is called “Classy Bristol” and you can find it >>here<<. All their watches are available with either rose gold or silver cases. I think rose gold is a color which will always be considered classy and elegant, that is why I chose the color for my watch. I also do love the brown leather strap. It makes the watch super wearable to all occasions. Apart from leather straps in brown and black, Daniel Wellington offers a range of NATO straps. NATO straps derived from the british navy and they are offered in different colors and patterns. So if you get bored by the leather strap of your watch you can easily switch your strap.

Daniel Wellington Classy Bristol Watch

My Daniel Wellington Classy Bristol watch was delivered in a beautiful leather case in dark brown and white with the logo of the company imprinted on it. The Classy Bristol watch has a case diameter of only 26 mm and is quite thin with 6 mm case thickness. I do not much like big watches, so this flat and smaller watch was perfect for my liking.

Daniel Wellington Classy Bristol Watch

The most beautiful part of the watch is the index, which is made of Swarovski Stones. The watch has a Japanese Quartz Movement and the case is made of stainless steel.  It is water resistent to a certain extend (3 ATM).

Daniel Wellington Classy Bristol Watch

All in all, I am pretty happy with my new watch and if you like elegant, but simple watches I can recommend you to check out Daniel Wellington. With the coupon code DW_inthesnow you’ll receive 15 % discount until 31st of March, 2015.  Simply check out their site at www.danielwellington.com. They do ship worldwide with your purchase of a watch.

Review: Dream Eye Hazel Iris Circle Contact Lenses

7. June 2014
You remember the Dream Eye circle lenses/coloured lenses by SpookyEyes I received and reviewed a while ago? Here is another pair called Dream Eye Hazel Iris Circle Lenses. You can find my previous review on the Brown Star Glow contact lenses here.
Dream Eye Hazel Iris Circle Contact Lenses

Dream Eye Hazel Iris Circle Contact Lenses

You don’t know Dream Eye, yet? Dream Eye is a Korean, FDA approved circle lens manufacturer. These yearly lenses don’t come in the typical vial, but in a standard paper card packaging. The design is simple and it looks similar to the packaging of normal contact lenses that you’ll receive from your eyes doctor. Each package is labelled by a sticker where the product number and the details like prescription, expiration date, diameter and curve radius are written on (the expiration date is meant for the unopened contact lenses of course). Inside of the box you’ll find the two lenses, each packed separately in a plastic container. The inside of the paper card box contains the description and usage of the contact lenses and is very thoroughly.

On SpookeyEyes you’ll find the following description for the lenses:

Dream Eyes Contact Lenses are high quality fashion contact lenses. They are soft and breathable, with a high water content that makes them very comfortable to wear. These brown&hazel color contact lenses keep your eyes feeling hydrated and comfortable all day long. They are easy to use and clean, working in complete harmony with your eyes.
Diameter : 14.5 mm
Base Curve : 8.6 mm
Life Span : 1 Year Disposal

Unfortunately, I didn’t find any information on the water content.

Dream Eye Hazel Iris Circle Contact Lenses

This is how the lenses perform:
Design:
The design is simple. It is basically an outer brown colored circle, making your eyes look like the eyes of a doll. I thought the brown color would be brighter- more hazel, but it is a typicxal brown color instead.
Comfort:
These wearability was comfortable. I could wear them on work and only after 5-6 hours I had to use eye drops.
Enlargement:
Enlargement is clearly visible. It makes your eyes look super dolly, but not unnaturally. They give you a more childish look.
Shipping:
SpookeyEyes offers free shipping internationally which is really great! I didn’t have any problems with the delivery either. Thanks again!

Here is how the lenses look on my eyes. Keep in mind that I have brown eyes naturally. The lenses might look different on brighter eyes.

Dream Eye Hazel Iris Circle Contact Lenses

Dream Eye Hazel Iris Circle Contact Lenses

I liked how comfortable these lenses were. At first I was a bit dissapointed because they didn’t look that much like hazel brown color, but they were very natural on my brown eyes, it just looked like I had larger eyes. a nice effect and definitively everyday-wearable.

If you like these lenses check out SpookeyEyes and have a look through their wide range of contact lenses. These lenses cost 27.95 US$.

Did anybody else try the Dream Eye lenses? What is your opinion about these lenses?

Review: The Dolly Eye Circle S-9 Series ♥sponsored♥

16. January 2014
I received a pair of contact lenses during the holidays from The Dolly Eye, an online store selling circle lenses, hair pieces, cosmetics and accesoires. The lenses name is “The Dolly Eye S-9 Series” and the color I received is grey.

The vials have a cute and girly design and are a bit smaller than the vials you normally get. The lenses came together with a simple lenscase, too.
The properties of the lenses is written on the web page of The Dolly Eye:
Two sterile daily wear soft contact lenses 45% methafilconA, 38% water, immersed in 0.9%buffered saline.
Lens technical details:
  • Diameter: 15.0mm
  • Water Content: 38%
  • Base Curve: 8.6mm
  • 3 months contact lenses
The design of the lenses looks really beautiful. It has some playful ornamental swirls in it. The border of the lenses is not straight but has a frayed design. I like the pattern, it is something special, compared to the standard, zwo colored lenses.
Let’s see how they look if you wear these lenses:
Design:
As I said above, I like the design of the lenses, because they are not as boring as the standard design for two colored lenses for example. Nevertheless these lenses look very artificial in flash photography. In natural light they look much better. Unfortunatelly, I think my eyecolor is too light for these, because they don’t blend in perfectly.
Comfort:

You can wear them a couple of hours, but they are not super comfy, probably because of the diameter.
Enlargement:
Enlargement is really huge since these lenses have a diameter of 15 mm! I have to say, that due to the design and the large diameter they do not blend in perfectly with my natural eye color. I think they will look much better on someone with darker brown or black eyes.
Shipping:
The package arrived quickly, but there was just a thick layer of paper around the vials for protection. I think bubble wrap would have been safer, although nothing happened anyway.

Did anyone try these lenses before? You can get them >>here<<  for US$27.99. Thanks again for The Dolly Eye for sending me these lenses. Please have a look at their store:

Review: My new glasses from Firmoo ♥sponsored♥

6. January 2014
Happy new year everybody! Long time no see, but finally I’m back and I have a lot of new reviews on my list. I was so busy during the holidays, that I had barely no time for doing anything for my blog. I’ll start off this years first review with a pair of glasses which were kindly sent to me by www.firmoo.com. I was very happy when they asked me to review their glasses and even more happy that I could get the glasses in my prescription.^_^

Probably some of you have already heard about www.firmoo.com, a popular online eyeglasses shop. They offer varieties of prescription glasses for affordable prices. they offer a huge variety of Men’s and Women’s Glasses and of sunglasses as well. I was pretty amazed at the selection and I had a hard time to decide which ones to choose. Finally I selected a pair of unisex full frame acetate glasses in tortoise (black with brownish freckles). These glasses are the kind of fashionable nerd glasses you see quite often in the web. My other pair of glasses a bit smaller than these, but I really wanted to try larger and more nerdy glasses XD. Here is the link to my glasses:

The glasses came pretty fast and they were provided with a bunch of accessories: a free hard protective spectacle case, an eyeglass bag and a piece of micro-fibre lens cloth. They also enclosed a repair kit including screws, screwdrivers and replacement nose pads, which I didn’t expect at all and it made me very happy. Since I’m wearing glasses since my childhood I experienced it quite often that the screws get loosen by the time. This kit is more then helpful in my opinion.

What really helped me to select the proper pair of glasses is the virtual try-on system that they provide on their page. You can either upload a picture of you or use the example pictures, to see how the glasses look on you. I used one of the example pictures which had the same PD (pupillary distance) value  and it turned out perfectly and was just as I imagined it to be.

One thing I have to mention at this point: It is important to know your exact values for your glasses, even if you don’t need prescription I can recommend you to get your pupillary distance (PD) measured by an optician. This is important to get glasses which fit you.

I have to say, that I really liked their service. I had some difficulties ordering by myself, but they helped me very quickly and did the order for me. Another thing which is really great for anybody who never bought glasses online before is the “Free Glasses” event they provide (http://www.firmoo.com/free-glasses.html). Every day they provide a limited amount of coupons for a pair of free glasses. All free frames come complete with 1.50 single vision lenses, complimentary cases, cleaning cloth and other accessories. You just need to pay shipping. It’s a great way to test, if the way of ordering glasses online convinces you, or not.

I can recommend Firmoo to everybody who wants to buy glasses online. Check out their page at:
If you have a blog and you are interested in cooperation with them follow the link below:

Review: Geo Princess Mimi Sesame Grey Bambi Series ♥sponsored♥

24. December 2013
♥ Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you have some nice holidays ♥

My first pair of circle lenses were Geo Princess Mimi Apple Green (review >>here<<) and since then I was always very curious about the Geo Princess Mimi Sesame Grey (Bambi Series) lenses of this series and I’m happy that MapleLens send these lenses to me. The circle lens pattern is designed by Tsubasa Masuwaka, one of the most influential and popular Japanese teen models. She is also modelling in the advertise of those lenses and she looks gorgeous with all of the lenses.

As before, when I got lenses from MapleLens they arrived pretty fast via EMS. They were packed safely and came in a cute present box together with an animal lens case in shape of an elephant *_*

Here are the properties for the lenses:
Diameter : 15.0mm
Water Content : 42%
Base Curve : 8.7mm
Life Span : 1 Year Disposal
Design:
I like the design! The colors blend in nicely with my natural brown eye color. there are brown dots towards the center of the lenses which design a nice blending effect. I was happy with the design of the green ones, too, and these are the same.
Comfort:
Although I should wear toric lenses, I could wear this lenses for quite a while. After 3 hours I applied some eye drops and then it was no problem to wear them for another 4 hours. The diameter of the lenses was no problem at all, but I’m used to use contacts every day anyways.
Enlargement:
Enlargement is really huge! The thick black circle ring makes your eyes really big and dolly. If you apply some eye make-up it looks nice and not too much like an alien :D But if you want to use them without any make up they can easily look strange.
Shipping:
Super fast shipping thanks to EMS.♥
Below you can see how these lenses look on my eyes.
All in all these lenses are perfect if you want to create a dolly effect. Because of the black outward circle they do not look natural, but really like doll’s eyes. If you are looking for a huge enlargement I can recommend you to go for these. If you like natural lenses more, then I don’t think these are a good choice. I really like the color and the effect, but I don’t wear these lenses every day.
You can buy these lenses at MapleLens for US$ 20.90. Check out the facebook page, too: https://www.facebook.com/MapleLens
