Review: Too Cool For School Art Class by Rodin

5. May 2015

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / AFFILIATE LINKS //

I saved my favourite item from April’s BNTbox for last, and here it is, the Too Cool For School Art Class by Rodin contouring powder! If you have read my blog previously you will know that I’m a huge fan of the Korean design cosmetic brand Too Cool For School. They have the most creative packaging design and illustrations. When I saw this product I was absolutely in love from the first moment! ♥

Too Cool For School Art Class by Rodin

Too Cool For School is a Korean brand, known for a unique packaging design. Their products are in the mid-pricey region and slightly more expansive than Etude House for example. The packaging design of the Too Cool For School Art class products is dedicted to the arts. I reviewed one of the art class cream blushes in the past, which came in a tube packaging, similar to the tubes painting colors are packed. Below you can see the georgeous packaging of the cardboard box of the Too Cool For School Art Class by Rodin contouring powder, or in french “créateur du contour”:

Too Cool For School Art Class by Rodin

This contouring powder helps you to shade and sculpture you face, as if you were August Rodin himself. The french sculptor Rodin was the progenitor of modern sculpture and is the inspiration for this product from Too Cool For School. The powder comes in a usual compact, wrapped by transparent paper and labelled with a “by Rodin” sticker. Too Cool For School makes all efforts to show how much love for the detail they put into their products. ♥

Too Cool For School Art Class by Rodin

The cardboard box has written Korean and English instructions on the backside, suggesting to either mix the three colors of this contouring powder or use them separately to shade the facial features like nose, cheeks and hairline. The inside of the cardbox reveals the story behind this product labelled “by Rodin”. I especially like the idea of giving some information about the concept of the design of a certain product by hiding them inside the cardboard packaging.

Too Cool For School Art Class by Rodin

Let’s have a closer look at the contouring compact itself:

Too Cool For School Art Class by Rodin

The compact has the same design like the cardboard packaging and looks super pretty on its own. The back of the compact displays the shelf-time of the product and the production date.

Too Cool For School Art Class by Rodin

I was looking for a contouring powder for quite some time, but I had the feeling that the shades were either too dark or only came in one shade alone. This contouring powder contains three different shades, reaching from a light one, to a darker shade. The compact comes with a mirror in the lid which is protected from the fall-off powder by a transparent plastic sheet labelled with the word “artclass”.

Too Cool For School Art Class by Rodin

The shades fit light to medium skintones and are not too yellow-y, neither too pink, which I like especially. The powder is very light and transparent, especially once blended into the skin. I needed a couple of swatches to make the colors show properly on the back of my hand. In order to have a natural contouring effect it is important to have not too pigmented shades, because it makes it easier to blend in. Also, if you are a contouring newby like me, you can make less mistakes in that way.

Too Cool For School Art Class by Rodin

When I’m using the Too Cool For School Art Class By Rodin contouring powder I make use of all three shades. I use the darkest shades for accentuating the arch reaching from the beginning of the eyebrow to the bridge of my nose. I mix the darkest and the middle shade for contouring the nose and use the middle shade to blend it into the sides of my nose. I also mix the middle and the darkest shade for drawing a line at my cheekbones. For the hairline and trhe sides of my face and my jawline I mix all three shades and use them there. You can find some nice images on Too Cool For Schools official site were the areas you can use the powder are shown.

Too Cool For School Art Class by Rodin

I’m totally happy with  Too Cool For School Art Class By Rodin and my search for a contouring powder has finally ended! And I’m definitively recommending you this contouring powder, if you are looking for one and the shades in this palette suit your skintone. Too Cool For School Art Class By Rodin retails for 12800 Won at testerkorea, for 13.02 US$ at KoreaDepart, and for 21.01 US$ from W2Beauty.

Review: Etude House Dreaming Swan Veiling Pact Brush

27. April 2015

// KBEAUTY / MAKE UP //

It seems I’m addicted to buy at least one item per year from Etude Houses spring collections. This time I fell for the Etude House Dreaming Swan Veiling Pact Brush from the Dreaming Swan collection, a ballet inspired collection designed by Kerry Hess, a popular fashion illustrator.

Etude House Dreaming Swan Veiling Pact Brush

Some words about Etude House to start with: Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adoreable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging…The new Dreaming Swan collection is fully dedicted to the topic of ballerinas, with light colors and a beautifully designed packaging. You will find pretty illustrations of ballerinas, ballerina shoes, tutus…The collection consists of lipsticks, eye and cheek blushers, powder pact, nail polish, cushion cases, cream multi shadows, a pouch and a powder brush. The latter is the one I’m showing here! Unfortunately, there was no brush set.  would have totally loved that. The Etude House Dreaming Swan Veiling Pact Brush comes in a plastic packaging displaying one of the illustrations from the illustrator Kerry Hess. The backside of the packaging shows the Korean and English description.

Etude House Dreaming Swan Veiling Pact Brush

You’ll find the full description of the product on the official Etude House page, too. The description says that the Veiling Pact Brush helps powder particles to be absorbed evenly and prevents smudging. Moreover the slightly cutted edged help to reach curved areas as well and more easily than other brushes. The brush is designed for powdery textures and comes with a brush bristle protector, which looks like a ballerina tutu. I would lie if I told you that the brush tutu is not the main reason why I bought this brush :D I think it makes a simple brush look so much more lovely ♥

Etude House Dreaming Swan Veiling Pact Brush

The brush itself has a pink handle and a rosegold metal part. The bristles are super soft and pink colored, which a light coral hint at the tips. The bristles are cut slightly, which gives the brush a round shape. The bristles take up powder nicely, too. The pink design fits very good into the overall theme of the collection.

Etude House Dreaming Swan Veiling Pact Brush

As a lover of cute and girly packaging of any items you will love this brush. I do already, although the packaging might be considered super girly or corny by some. I’m definitively not an brush expert, but as far as I can say it also does a good job in taking up the powder and in the application aswell. I bought my brush from W2Beauty for 13.86 US$. For my last order, including this brush and a lipstick from the same collection, I received a whole bunch of samples like sheet masks and even a travel size jar of the Laneige Waterbank Sleeping Cream. I couldn’t have been more satisfied with my purchase! ♥

Review: Nailart with double-ended Dotting Pen from Born Pretty Store

23. April 2015

// PR SAMPLE / BEAUTY / AFFILIATE LINKS //

Is is quite some time since I posted any nailart related content on my blog. Most of the time I have been too lazy to do any special nailart and just painted my nails in my favourite red nail polish colors :D Today I will show you a quick and simple nailart I did with an double-ended Dotting Pen I received from Born Pretty Store. It is super simple cherry blossom nailart and I’ve seen a lot of people doing that kind of nailart recently. My Mom said she saw it even lately on TV. So let’s start of with the Dotting Pens I used:

double-ended Dotting Pen

As mentioned above, I received this set of double-ended dotting pens from Born Pretty Store. Born Pretty Store is an asian based online store selling very affordable products, reaching from accessoires to make-up and beauty products. They have a super huge amount of all kinds of nailart products and tools. I reviewed water decalls from their store in the past and I have some water decall reviews prepared for the future, too. This 5 piece set of double-ended Dotting Tools I received consists of 5 pens with an brush ending and an dotting tool ending. They are suitable for nail art painting.

double-ended Dotting Pen

The brushes have different sized from brush size 2-10. The dotting tool side is all the similar size. The middle part of the brushes is made of  the pens is in different colors and made of see-through hard plastic.All in all, these brushes look very cute and I like the fact that they have a brush ending and an dotting pen ending a lot.

double-ended Dotting Pen

How do these brushes perform? I used regular red, black, white and shiny pastel pink nailpolish. First I painted my nails red, than I used the brush for painting black branches across each nail. I used the dotting pen side to make white and pale pink dots around the branches representing the cherry blossoms….and here is the result:

double-ended Dotting Pen

What do you think? I’m not an expert at nailart but I liked these cherry blossom nails a lot. I finished off with an topcoat, so the nails looked nice for a couple of days. The dotting pen was also easy to use and gave nicer results as the bobby pin I usually took for making dots. And as I said before, I like how colorful the pens are :) You can get this 5Pcs/set Double-ended Dotting Pen for 7.52 US$ from Born Pretty Store. You can also use the promotional code KBX31 for 10 % discount on your order. They do offer free international shipping by the way.

Just as a short reminder: All products mentioned and reviewed on this blog are of my personal opinions. This product here was sent to me for reviewing purpose by http://www.bornprettystore.com/, which doesn’t influence me in providing my honest opinion on the products.

Review: COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch

16. April 2015

// KBEAUTY / SKINCARE / AFFILIATE LINKS //

Luckily, getting older also brings us a couple of advantages, like less pimples and acne. I had lots of them during my puberty, but times changed and my skin got better and today I’m really happy with my skin apart from having occasionally one or two pimples after eating too much unhealthy food or during the special time of the month. But still we all know the feeling of getting these red bumbs on our face and resisting as good as we can to touch it, or even worse, to squeeze it. I never tried anti-pimple patches before, but the COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch got so much worldwide attention within the beauty community (it was mentioned by “Cosmopolitan”), that I wanted to try them myself. During Wishtrend’s February promotions they gave one sachet of these for free on every order, and since these patches are quite cheap I bought a second one for me and one for my sister. By the way, during this month you can get a free ElishaCoy Sheet Mask from Wishtrend :)

COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch

COSRX is a affordable Korean brand “offering good quality beauty items for 10 years”. The brand name is composed of COS for cosmetics and RX for prescription. Brand like Ciracle and C20 (yes, the famous vitamin C serum) are also part of COSRX. One of the rather popular skincare lines from COSRX are the AHA/BHA skincare products. I’ve also bought the BHA Summer Pore Minish Serum and the AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner and I’m looking forward to write the reviews for these two. But let’s get back to the COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch first:

COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch

These anti-blemish patches come in a simple sachet packaging. COSRX products have usually very clean and simple packaging designs, reminding of prescription medicine. The sachet has a zip-lock opening, so you can easily store the remaining patches and keep them safe from dust and dirt. Each sachet contains one sheet of patches. There are 24 patches on each sheet (9 large patches (12 mm), 5 medium patches (10 mm) and 10 small patches (7 mm)). Apart from the patches you’ll find an instruction paper in Korean inside the sachet. The backside of the sachet also contains Korean description, but also shows a short English instruction.

COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch

All in all, these patches are very easy to use. You find some more English description on Wishtrend about the COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patches. The light yellow colored patches can be applied on a pimple oder blemish after the area has been cleaned and dried of course. It keeps dirt from getting on the inflammated are and also keept you from touching it. The patches are party transparant, so they are not too obvious. I read that some people also use makeup above the patch. So, the patch helps healing your targeted area, and what should I say more….it works. I tried it on a little pimple on my forehead. I applied the patch in the morning. In the evening I removed it, cleansed my skin again and went to sleep. The next morning the pimple was gone. You can see the pictures below:

COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch

For my low blemish concerns these patches work perfectly. I cannot speak for anyone with more severe skin troubles, but if you are looking for some good and effective anti-acne patches I would recommend these. There must be a reason that so many people seem to like these patches. It proved its effectiveness to me and mabe my before and after pictures encourage you to try it. A sachet of these COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patches containing 24 anti acne patches retails for 4.25 US$ at Wishtrend. and for 5 US$ at Beautytap. Check out my page for coupons and discounts for both shops >>here<<. And see my other reviews for COSRX products >>here<<.

Review: Aritaum Mono Eyes “Take That”

13. April 2015

// KBEAUTY / AFFILIATE LINKS / MAKE UP //

One of my favourite brands for Korean lip products is Aritaum! I loved their Wannabe Cushion Tints, their world Glam Tint and since I received the Water Sliding Tints I almost use these every single day (review upcoming). Apart from lip products I’ve always been curious about other Aritaum products, which is why I decided to try the Aritaum Mono Eyes eyeshadows starting off with a shade called “Take That”. This shade is supposed to be similar to MAC’s eyeshadow “Honey Lust”. Since I don’t have any Mac eyeshadows I cannot compare the two shades, but I can show you some swatches at least.

Aritaum Mono Eyes "Take That"

Aritaum is a Korean brand which belongs to the Amore Pacific family. First time I came into contact with this brand was through the Aritaum Wannabe Cushion Tints, which I fell in love with at first site. Their beautiful and colorful design was something special and new to me. Although Aritaum has quite some cute and girly designed packaging they also do have more mature looking products. The design of the Aritaum Mono Eyes for example is very simple and reminds of MAC packaging. These single eyeshadow pans can also be removed from their packaging and arranged into empty palettes, so you can create your own eyeshadow palette. There are more than 90 different shades available, so there is a huge variety. Apart from so many different colors the texture is also different. There are baked, wet processed, cream, pressed glitter, pressed satin glitter, and pressed matte eyeshadows. I selected Aritaum Mono Eyes eyeshadow No. 35 “Take That”, which is a pressed glitter eyeshadow.

Aritaum Mono Eyes "Take That"

This eyeshadow is a copper colored, shimmering eyeshadow with a warm undertone. It has a good pigmentation and looks nice even without an eyeshadow base. Although it is a glitter eyeshadow it doesn’t have any fallout and stays long on the lid. The container is made of plastic with a clear plastic window in the lid, so you see which color you are grabbing if you have more than one eyeshadow from this collection.

Aritaum Mono Eyes "Take That"

Although I do not wear eyeshadow often I discovered that I use this eyeshadow a lot. I love to combine it with the Innisfree Shadow Pencil in “Milk Tea” als base color and Aritaum Mono Eyes “Take That” for the crease. Since using the Innisfree Shadow Pencil is super easy and quick this look can be created fast, which is why I really like it.

Aritaum Mono Eyes "Take That"

I’m really happy with Aritaum Mono Eyes “Take That” eyeshadow. It is a beautiful copper shade and is not overly glittery, which makes it wearable on a daily basis as point color for example. Since there are so many different eyeshadow colors and types available for the Aritraum Mono Eyes I can recommend you to take a look at the full range. If you are looking for a specific color I’m sure you’ll find something due to the high variety. I also like the fact that you can build your own eyeshadow palette if you want. Moreover, the eyeshadows are quite affordable. They retail for 5000 Won at Aritaum. I bought my shade from W2Beauty for 6.49 US$, but it is also available on testerkorea for 4500-6300 Won depending on the shade you choose. Did you try any of the Aritaum Mono Eyes eyeshadows? Do you have a favourite color? I would like to try some of the matte shades in future.

Review: ElishaCoy Aloe & Lavender Mask Sheet

9. April 2015

// KBEAUTY / SKINCARE / SHEETMASK //

Usually, with every order for asian cosmetics there is a special amount of value to reach to get either free shipping or discount etc. Everytime I’m doing such a haul and I just have a bit leftover money to reach the aquired amount I end up buying sheet masks. My sheet mask stash seems to grow too fast, so it is time again for using them up and making some quick reviews on them. Here is the ElsihaCoy Aloe & Lavender Mask Sheet I bought from Wishtrend:

ElishaCoy Aloe & Lavender Mask Sheet

Wishtrend has quite a range of ElishaCoy products and I usually do like their products, too. The brand is a Korean company focussing on natural ingredients. They are quite popular for their “Always Nuddy” BB creams. They have also a couple of sheet masks and this Aloe & Lavender Mask Sheet is one of them. It is designed for moisturizing and soothing the skin with help of the two key ingredients lavender and aloe. The packaging is neat displaying aloe leaves. although it is not really special I like the design because you directly know what key ingredient you have in the mask from the first glance at the packaging.

ElishaCoy Aloe & Lavender Mask Sheet

The description of the product is written in English and Korean on the backside of the sheet mask packaging. Most of the description is in Korean, but you will find detailled English description on Wishtrend anyways. The ingredients are also listed there in English and you can find the product on COSDNA, too. Apart from PEG/PPG-17/6 copolymer listed in the ingredient list, all the other ingredients are safe to use. But don’t worry about the PEG/PPG-17/6 copolymer, the health concerns derived from this ingredient are low but if you know you react to it, then don’t use products including this ingredient. This eco-friendly pulp mask sheet is an essence type sheet mask, so the liquid the sheet mask is soaked with is a clear, watery one. When tearing the package open you will notice a pleasant lavender scent which is nice and not too overpowering. You apply the sheet mask on your clean skin. Eventually, put on toner before using the sheet mask. After 10-20 minutes you can take off the mask and pat the remaining essence into the skin. The material of the pulp sheet is soft and rather thin. It is soaked well with the essence and you will have some essence left in the sachet for using it on your neck, too. (btw.: You know how to you detect an old sheet mask?! I had a Missha Sea Kelp sheet mask in my sheet mask box for ages and I decided you use it finally. When I opened up the package I discovered the sheet mask wasn’t soaked with essence anymore and looked like a dry paper towel….oh no!XD).

ElishaCoy Aloe & Lavender Mask Sheet

The day I used this sheet mask my skin was irritated and itchy all day. I decided it is best to put on something soothing and my first thought was this sheet mask. The moment I put it on the hydrating and cooling effect of this mask relieved my skin finally. It was such a satisfying feeling for me! Moreover, I do like lavender scent because it makes me feel relaxed. This sheet mask fulfilled all my needs at that moment. It was moisturizing and soothing and the itchyness of my skin was stropped. Also, my skin looked less reddened after I took of the mask. I will put these sheet masks on my wishlist and buy a couple of these as soon as my sheet mask stash is getting smaller again, because they definitively fulfilled their purpose, smelled nicely and were hydrating. And they aren’t expansive either. One of these retails for 1.99 US$ on Wishtrend, for 5 sheet masks you pay 9.95 US$ and receive 2 additional masks, and if you buy 10 sheet masks for 19.90 US$ you receive 3 free sheet masks. Oh, and according to the Wishtrend promotions for April you’ll receive one free ElishaCoy Vitamin Collagen Mask Sheet on any order. You can check out my post about the promotions for April >>here<<.  Also, keep in mind their friend-referral program: You can receive a 5 Us$ referral coupon if you use my invitation code 17939205 upon registration and you’ll receive this voucher immediately. There will be a specific field in your registration form called “friends invitation program” where you can put the code mentioned above. This way new customers can safe 5 US$ which is a great possibility to safe some money.

Did you try any sheet masks from ElishaCoy, yet? What’s your favourite?

Review: It’s Skin Have A Pomegranate Cleansing Foam

1. April 2015

// KBEAUTY / SKINCARE / AFFILIATE LINKS //

Another cleansing product review, and this time it is my least favourite cleanser I’m using currently, the It’s Skin Have A Pomegranate Cleansing Foam (I still have two or three other foam cleansers to use up, a cleansing water and cleansing balms…I think I have enough supplies for this year :D).

It's Skin Have A Pomegranate Cleansing Foam

I think this is my first It’s Skin product I’m reviewing here on Berries In The Snow. Unfortunately, I do not really like it. It’s Skin is a Korean brand made by dermatologists at Seoul University and it was created to recover the natural power of the skin. The brand is not expansive, but on the same level like Etude House. They also have some cute designs for some of their products, so in general it is an interesting brand, especially their Power 10 Formula bottles intrigue me and I heard positive reviews about it. The It’s Skin Have A Pomegranate Cleansing Foam is part of 5 different cleansing foams in the It’s Skin Have A cleansing foam line, which are Orange, Banana, Greengrape and Eggshell.

It's Skin Have A Pomegranate Cleansing Foam

Each of the five cleansing foams comes in a packaging displaying a picture of the key ingredient. The It’s Skin Have A Pomegranate Cleansing Foam has- of course- a pomegranate displayed. The pink colored plastic tube looks kind of cute, too. The ingredients are listed on COSDNA and there are some irritating ingredients used as emulsifiers, but most of the ingredients are safe. Also, the plant extracts, like the key ingredients pomegranate is one of the last ingredients, which is a bit dissapointing. It smells of pomegranate though, but not heavily. The foam itself has a white, shimmery, cream texture. It foams up nice, but not as a super dense foam either. The PH of the cleanser lies at 8, which makes it quite drying for the skin. Below you can have a look how the cleanser performes on my arm with a couple of makeup products. As you can see, this foam cleanser is – similar to the Benton Honest Cleansing Foam I reviewed before- not suited to remover waterproof makeup. It can serve enough as second cleanser, if you remove your makeup previously with a cleansing oil or balm. Unfortunately, it leaves the skin dry and tense, which is the reason I do not like this cleanser.

It's Skin Have A Pomegranate Cleansing Foam

I would recommend the Benton Honest Cleansing Foam over this cleansing foam, because you can really feel a difference how the two cleansers leave your skin after cleansing. The Benton cleanser is really gentle and leaves the skin hydrated, but the It’s Skin Have A Pomegranate Cleanser makes my skin feel tight and dry. If you want to try it anyways you can find the It’s Skin Have A Foam Cleansers at W2Beauty for 13.14 US$.

What is your favourite foam cleanser? did you try any of the It’s Skin cleansing Foams?

Review: Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion

27. March 2015

// KBEAUTY / MAKE UP / AFFILIATE LINKS //

Apart from the Missha Magic Cushion Case this is actually the first CC cushion I’m trying, the Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion. This post is picture-heavy and the two larger images appear blurry, but when you click to enlarge you’ll be able to see everything in detail. Sorry for that ♥  I saw this cushion first time in one of Pony’s youtube videos and I knew I had to get this (again). Here are my impressions:

Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion

Innisfree is an eco-friendly Korean skincare and makeup brand focusing on natural ingredients and recycle packaging. The design of their products is simply and neat and nicely reflects the ideology of the brand. Innisfree products are ususally free from harmful ingredients. The Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion is supposed to be a “Long-lasting moisture cushion” that keeps your skin “hydrated for a long period by restoring moisture to your skin”, according to the description of the product. It contains jeju green tea and jeju mineral powder and since it is a CC cushion the finish delivered should look natural and brighten up the complexion. The cushion comes in a cardboard box made of recycled paper and printed with soy ink. I bought this cushion from innisfreeworld, and it was a special kit for the 15th anniversary. The cardboard box contains one filled cushion and one refill, and I received a second refill as part of the deal. I picked shade No.21, which fits nicely to my skin color, but I think that it will be too light for me once summer is starting. If you want to have a closer look at the descriptions on the cardboard box feel free to enlarge the image below. You’ll also find detailled description about this product in the Innisfree store.

Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion

The ingredients are listed on COSDNA and you can look them up >>here<<. They are safe to use :) Apart from niacinamide and some sunprotectors, like titanium dioxide and zinc oxide,  the cushion has also listed some plant extracts. The refill contained in the box is separately packed in a plastic bag as you can see below, and contains some short description, too. The Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion has SPF 34 PA++ and is available in three shades, #13, #21 and #23.

Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion

The Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion comes in a round plastic container. The lid of the container contains a mirror and you will also find a sponge (Eco air magic puff) inside the container. Everything together makes these cushion products really portable and handbag-friendly. The backside of the cushion container contains some description again and has the production date imprinted, too.

Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion

The product itself is separated from the container by a second  plastic pan, with a plastic lid on its own. For the first time use, when you open the lid you’ll find the cushion still sealed.

Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion

Removing the seal will reveal the cushion soaked with the CC cream. With help of the Eco air magic puff, which has a very soft and dense material the cushion can be applied. The touch of the CC cream feels very refreshing and moisturizing. It has a herbal scent, typical for most Innisfree products. You can see the swatch of the CC cream on my hand below and you can tell right away that it has a glowy finish. So the thing which intrigued me in first place about this product is the fact that it contains ampoule, that imeans that it has extra skincare benefits, especially for dull and dry skintypes.

Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion

The coverage of the CC cream is medium and the consistency of the CC cream is fluid and not so creamy as most CC/BB creams from tubes. If you have lightly reddened skin, like I do have below, the Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion will provide enough coverage. I usually apply one layer, and if I still see some red skin I add a second layer on top and it doesn’t look cakey at all. I also think that the glow is not too strong, but rather natural, when comparing my before image with the one on the right. In natural light the skin doesn’t look greasy or anything. I also used the Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder before applying the cushion and it makes the glow a bit more matte but yet visible. Applying loose powder afterwards will create a matte finish, but still makes your skin feel moist on the inside, which is great!

Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion

All in all, I’m very pleased with my first cushion product. The finish looks natural and it is really perfect for taking it along with you. And since it is hydrating it does not make my nose and chin flaky at the end of the day, and even when I think I need a touch up I can do without worries. For dry and combination skin people I would recommend to try the Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion!

Review: Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack and Lip Tint Cleanser

26. March 2015

At the end of last year I did a review for the Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack, a lip tint tattoo with plenty of popularity in Korea. I really enjoy using it, which made me decide to buy a second shade. There was a special promotion at this time, where you received a free Berrisom Lip Tint Cleanser with you purchase of the Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack, so I will review the Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack and Lip Tint Cleanser today. It will be a picture-heavy post, but you will see a comparison of the swatches of the shade I bought previously (No.3 “Sexy Red”) and the new shade I bought (No.8 “Virgin Red”).

Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack and Lip Tint Cleanser

Berrisom is one of the Korean brands available at Wishtrend. They are mostly known for the Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack I’m showing you here, but they offer some more products in the skincare range, too. The Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack (there was an old version called Berrisom Chu~ My Lip Tint Pack and now it is Oops~ My Lip Tint Pack) is available in 8 different shades. You can use these lip tint packs in order to give your lip a different tinted color. The packaging is designed with kissing lips all over. The color of each box is adjusted to the shade of the tint pack. The color I chose this time is called “Virgin Red” and is a real red color as opposed tob the cherry red color I bought last time. Apparently, there are some fake products from China on the market atm, but there are images on Wishtrend how to detect between the original and the fake product >>here<<.

The description on the cardboard box is in Korean, but you can look up a very detailled description in English on Wishtrend. There you will also find the ingredients of this lip tint pack, which are all safe according to COSDNA. Moreover, this product contains a lot of plant (fruit) extracts in order to give some care to your lips, too. This makes it a “mask function lip tint” according to the product description.

Below you can see the two tubes I own right now. On the left side you see No.3 “Sexy Red” and on the right No.8. “Virgin Red”. Both of them contain 15 g of lip tint pack. The new shade I bought has also the shelf life printed on the backside, which is 6 months after opening. Both have sealed caps, and as you can see I’ve used them already, which is why the seal is broken :D.

The applicator is made of plastic and with my last review I said that the application can be a bit tricky. As you can see below they have changed the applicator and made it thinner, which makes it easier to apply than before. Since it is a peel-off tint pack it is not too important to have precise outlines. For a gradiant lip tint look you’ll have to apply the product on the inner parts of your lips anyways. The lip tint pack has a jelly like constistency, which is a bit sticky (and it has to be), since you’ll have to peel it off afterwards.

The Berrisom Lip Tint Cleanser comes in the same tube packaging as the Berrisom My Lip Tint Packs. It has a white packaging color though.

Like the lip tint packs the cardboard packaging contains directions and description in Korean and in English. you can also read more about the cleanser on Wishtrend. Also here the ingredients are safe to use and can be looked up at COSDNA. The Berrisom Lip Tint Cleanser does not only clean your lips from the lip tint, but also contains scrub particles to exfoliate your lips and make them smooth again. Like the lip tint packs it contains 15 ml of product.

Now, let’s talk about the exciting part, namely the swatches: Below you can see the Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack in “Sexy Red” and “Virgin Red”. From the color of the pack itself you can already see the difference between the two shades. As advertised, “Sexy Red” is a cherry-toned red shade, whereas “Virgin Red” is a strawberry-toned red. After peeling the pack of you can see that both shades leave a visible stain on the back of my hand. And even more important, the shades look distinct. Below the two swatches I will show you the performance of the Berrisom Lip Tint Cleanser, which is a gel-like product with particles inside. When rubbing it over the swatches some of the particles agglomerate with the color of the tint. After rubbing for a while (it is suggested to scrub the lips 1-2 minutes with the cleanser), you can wipe of the product with a tissue or wash it of with water as you like. The image at the bottom shows the result and as you see, there are still some light traces of the lip stain on my hands. This describes how amazing the staying powder of the product is!

In order for the lip tint pack to work you have to apply a layer of the product on your lips. It doesn’t need to be too thick, just it has to cover your lips. Then, you’ll leave the pack to dry. As soon as the lip tint pack has dried you can peel off an edge and remove the rubber-like layer of the tint. Your lips will be stained from the pack in color you selected. Below, I will show you how the Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack in “Virgin Red” looks on my lips:

Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack and Lip Tint Cleanser

My verdict for this product is still the same as before: The Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack gives your lips a natural and yet visible color. The staying power of this stain is good, as long as you don’t eat do much oily and fatty food. It doesn’t transfer either. Keep in mind that the tint will look best on your lips, if you exfoliate your lips before, so your lips are not too dry or flaky. I didn’t have the feeling that the peeling off hurt my lips in any way. It is also best to start off with your upper lip, because it usually stains less than the lower lip. If you start with the upper lip and peel it off after the lower lip, too, it will have some more time to get stained. The only downside of this lip is, that it takes some time to dry, so it is not an easy to use product for a quick touch-up. You can select between 8 shades  and you will find that they come with a free Berrisom SOS! My Lip Patch at the moment. They also discounted the price from 15.99 US$ to 8.99 US$ at Wishtrend, which is pretty affordable in my eyes! I also made a post about the promotions Wishtrend offers for March >>here<<.
