I really love The Bodyshop’s Body Butters!♥ I was really addicted to the strawberry one in my teens. It smells so delicious. These two body butters are no exception. Both have an intense scent. The Moringa body butter smells really flowerly, like standing in a field of flowers which are in bloom. I would say this scent is not recommended to use before going outside in nature, otherwise bugs and bees will probably smell it and won’t leave you alone :D The scent really stays long! If you apply it in the evening the scent isn’t noticeable anymore, but the skin still feels smooth. Same for the Cocoa body butter. It smells divine, like chocolate, I really love this smell. And this one is really rich and recommended for dry skin (although I think body butters in general are always good for dry skin, because they are richer and have a thicker consistency). You have to wait a little for both butters to absorb into the skin, but afterwards your skin is smooth like silk *_*

They come in a jar and the full size one contains 200 ml and lasts a long time, since you don’t need much product (unless you get addicted and use it several times a day XD). these butters cost 16 € in Germany and 15 $ in US, sometimes there are specials, so you get them for less.

Review: The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream 01

18. April 2013
Here is a review for the All-In-One BB cream from The Body Shop in color 01. They provide three shades for this BB cream. I tested them all on my hand and decided that the other two shades were to dark for me and I chose the lightest one. Luckily I didn’t order it online because then I would have chosen the medium shade…
Here is the description of this product from the official web page:
Our new All-In-One BB cream transforms from a white cream to suit your skin tone. Pigment-filled capsules burst when applied to the skin, releasing the colour inside. Just blend for a perfect match and an even, undetectable finish. It’s make-up and skincare in one.
  • Adapts to your skin tone
  • Light to medium coverage
  • Even finish
  • 24-hour hydration
  • Non-clogging
Full Ingredients: Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Isohexadecane (Emollient/Solvent), Hydrogenated Polydecene (Skin Conditioning Agent), Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate (Skin Conditioning Agent/Emollient), Ethylhexyl Palmitate (Skin Conditioning Agent), Glycerin (Humectant), Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil (Skin Conditioning Agent), Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emollient), Mica (Opacifier), Phenethyl Alcohol (Fragrance Ingredient), Magnesium Sulfate (Absorbent/Bulking Agent), Sodium Chloride (Viscosity Modifier), Glyceryl Caprylate (Skin Conditioning Agent), Tocopheryl Acetate (Antioxidant), Polyester-1 (Film Former), Silica Dimethyl Silylate (Binder/Viscosity Modifier), Triethoxycaprylylsilane (Binder), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Skin Conditioning Agent), Tocopherol (Antioxidant), Glycine Soja Oil (Emollient/Skin Conditioner). [+/- CI 77891 (Colour), CI 77492 (Colour), CI 77491 (Colour), CI 77499 (Colour)].
Normally I use Asian BB creams and they always work a great deal for me. But I thought I could give western BB creams a second try (my first try was an instant fail, I bought the Dream Cream BB from Maybelline and it was so dark for me, my face was completely orange…I gave it to my sister because she is tanner than me) and since I love most of the products from The Body Shop why not?!
The BB cream comes in a simple designed tube with a screw cap and contains 25 ml. If you squeeze out the product it has a fluffy cconsistency and you get a white colored cream-mousse with little grains in it. The cream is practically scentless.

If you apply the cream on your skin and blend it in, these small grains are responsible for color. Below you will see an image of my face before and after applying the BB cream.

You will notice that my face looks a little bit darker, although I chose the brightest color they provided. It gives you light coverage, compared to Missha’s BB Cream which really gives you good coverage, but on the other side it feels very light on the skin. After an hour the color at least adapted well to my skin and it really looks natural and the skin feels soft and not sticky or oily. I think this cream could work well on oily skin. I would have liked a more moisturizing feeling for my dry skin, though. The Body Shops All-In-One BB Cream is more comparable to a tinted moisturizer cream. It doesn’t have any sunlight protection abilities unfortunately, otherwise I would have said it is a perfect alternative for hot summer days if you don’t want to wear to much on your face. This BB cream costs 14 € and I would suggest anyone who is looking for a real BB cream to invest this money instead on a BB cream from Asia.

Review: Alverde Powder Blush 07 Flamingo

17. April 2013

I have bought this blush a while ago in a local drugstore, since my old everyday blush is nearly done. Here is a little review for the blush I bought: Alverde Powder Blush in color 07 Flamingo.

You find the product description in German here. It says it “gives the skin a fresh, healthy glow and should not be missing in a perfect makeup finish. The soft texture of the powder helps to create beautiful accents on the temples or the cheekbones”. It contains 4.7 g and the ingredients are mainly organic.
Here is a list of the ingredients:
Talc, Tricaprylin, Magnesium Stearate, Olea Europaea Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis Oil*, Glycine Soja Oil*, Chamomilla Recutita Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana Extract*,Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Levulinic Acid, [+/- Mica, CI 75470, Silica, CI 77163, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 77891]
* ingredients from certified organic agriculture
The blush is available in 3 shades: Apricot, Pretty Terra and Flamingo. The blush comes in a green tin with a window inside the lid. There is an imprint with leaves on the blush which is quite nice.

Here is a light swatch for the color flamingo that I bought. A little bit already provides a nice color.

I like the intense red color. This powder is also very pigmented and you only need a little on your brush to create a nice color on your cheeks. It also lasts quite good and is not expansive at all (you can get this blush for around 4 €). The smell is not intense but nice and the green packaging fits to a natural cosmetic product. I like it ♥

Review: Etude House Color My Brows Rich Brown

14. April 2013
Here is a review for Etude House Color My Brows in color Rich Brown. I have pitch black eyebrows and they are naturally very dense. Since my hair is dark brown, and usually I’m coloring them in lighter brown shades I wanted to achieve a slightly brighter eyebrow color. I was eyeing this product from Etude House therefore since it is available in 3 shades: Rich Brown, Red Brown and Light Brown (EDIT: available in 5 shades by now).
Here is the product description and advertorial picture from Etude House:
What it is:
A mascara only for eyebrow to keep its layer neat and give natural but urbane colors.
What it does:
– Hide dark & black brow: Providing natural and clear brow colors by hiding its own dark color.
– Easy & Quick brow coloring: Quickly dried to make brow layer and color fixed even while re-applying.
– Brow care: Allantoin, Beeswax, Carnauba wax provide nutrition and moisture on skin and brow.

 Detail
#1 Rich Brown: For dark hair such as black or dark brown
#2 Light Brown: For bright hair such as blondie light brown
#3 Red Brown: For red-ish hair such as wine, red brown
#4 Natural Brown: For bright hair such as natural brown
#5 Blondie Brown: For very bright hair such as gold, blondie brown

 How to apply
– Lightly touch eyebrow in the opposite direction of eyebrow to layer color.
– Comb towards eyebrow layer to make them neat. Make brow head’s layer to stand.

Beauty Tip
– In case of lack of eyebrow hair, use eyebrow pencil to make eyebrow line first and use Color My Brow: It makes naturally clear eyebrow.

As you can see from the picture below it looks like a mascara brush. You can easily color your eyebrow hair using the brush. The packaging is simple, but yet feminine and girly with the scallops and pink. It does a good job in coloring my black hair to a dark brown.
Etude House Color My Brows
Etude House Color My Brows
The color is matte on the brows and I could create a discrete brighter color of my brows without looking too unnatural. At the beginning you have to be careful not to color the skin around your brows, but even if you do you can correct it easily with a Q-tip :D The only thing I have to remark (at least with my natural dark brows) that it wears of during the day. In the evening the brows look darker again. the bottle contains 4.5 g and costs around US$ 7.80 at the Etude House Official Store. You can find this product on W2Beauty for US$ 9.24. If you use my link or the sponsor code 088505 for registration at W2Beauty you’ll get a 5.00 $ voucher after registration.

NOTD: KIKO Mirror Nail Lacquer Golden Rose

13. April 2013
Honestly, I never went inside a KIKO store, although I have one near my place. But recently I heard about a mirror nail polish they have and I decided to have a look at their store, finally :D
I bought a bottle of KIKO’s Mirror Nail Lacquer in color No. 630 called “Golden Rose”.

Here is the description from http://www.kikocosmetics.co.uk:
Description:
Mirror Nail Lacquer, limited edition mirror effect nail polish with an ultra-radiant, metallic finish.
The special mirror formula is enriched with aluminum micro-pearls with a strong reflective power, creating a glossy metallic effect on the surface of the nail.
After application, the texture dries, leaving a chrome, ultra-radiant finish. Thanks to the metallic pigments, the nails are dressed in vibrant, chrome shades.
The flat shape of the brush ensures a perfect, smudge-free application. The length, flexibility and density of the bristles allow the ideal amount of polish to be released and applied evenly to the nail, reducing the risk of streaks.
Formulated without adding aggressive ingredients such as Toluene, Camphor, DBP or Formaldehyde.
Available in 15 metallic colours.
Hypoallergenic = formulated to ensure minimum instance of allergic reactions.
Results:
Chrome and glossy with a mirror effect. Thanks to the innovative Mirror Nail Lacquer formula, the nail is perfectly dressed in ultra-radiant, metallic colours.
Advice:
Before application, prepare the nail using the Nail File Glossing Buffer: use side 1 to smooth the surface of the nail and eliminate any irregularities, and side 2 to polish it.
Apply a base layer of nail polish to the nails, allow to dry and proceed with the first application of Mirror Nail Lacquer.
Once dry, apply the second layer of nail polish.
The perfect mirror effect can only be seen when the nail polish is completely dry.

I used a base coat and applied one layer of the nail polish. The consistency is a bit vicious, but it really opaque using only one stroke (although they recommend two stokes in the product description I think one is enough). due to the consistency it is not easy to achieve an eaven layer, at least I had some problems. It looks laso best on nails with a very smooth surface. I have some creases on a few nails from working and the nail polish doen’t look to nice on these parts. If you have healthy and smooth nails you won’t have a problem with it. The color is really nice and looks just like the color in the bottle. If you like the colors and you can get your hands on them, they are worth trying and a nice alternation to the glitter and sandstyle nail polishes ;)
A bottle contains 11 ml and costs 4,90 €.

Review: Etude House Collagen Moistful Cream

12. April 2013
Here is a review for Etude House Collagen Moistfull Cream. Like Etude House’s Flower Moistful Cream I got a whole bunch of samples from my previous ebay haul.
Here is what they write on Etude House’s web page for the full-size jar. They also provide a describing image which in Korean:

———————————————————————————————
Product Description
Fight for the dryness!! Firming moisture cream with baobab tree and collagen extract improving your dermal structure leaving tight and moist skin.
Baobab Tree + Collagen combination improves dermal structure and moisture retention.
Capacity
50ml
———————————————————————————————

Here is a picture from one of the samples I used. The texture is the same like Etude House Flower Moistful Cream, a gel-like structure that absorbs really quickly into the skin.

When I tested the Etude House Flower Moistful Cream I really liked the flowery smell of the cream. Personally, I don’t like the smell of the Collagen Moistful cream so much as I liked the other one. Except for this both products are similar. You don’t need a lot of product for covering your face and the face really feels soft afterwards and not sticky or greasy. It didn’t make any problems combined with a BB cream on top of it and it didn’t look greasy at all. I have dry skin and this cream works perfectly for me. I can’t say anything for the effect of the collagen, I think you have to use it on long-term to see any effects.

If I would decide between this one and Etude House Flower Moistful, I would buy the Flower Moistful Cream because I absolutely loved the scent, that’s why I only rate it 4/5. Nevertheless, in quality both creams are similar.
60 ml in a jar together with a 20 ml bottle of Etude House Collagen Moistful First Essence cost around US$16 at ebay (here).

Cold-days Favourites: Neutrogena Hand Cream and Smith’s Rosebud Salve

5. April 2013
Hey ♥
Winter doesn’t seem to end these days and the cold weather makes me and my body totally unhappy, dry skin all over :( Especially hands and lips (also the whole face) seem to suffer a lot. Nevertheless, I figured out a good “winter-combo” for my handbag, which is my constant friend in these times. This combo is made by Neutrogena Hand Cream and a jar of my beloved Smith’s Rosebud Salve.

Neutrogena’s Hand Cream is a concentrated cream based on glycerin, hence it has not a creamy consistency. It is concentrated, that means little goes a long way, and it has a soapy clean smell. There is also a perfume-free version of this cream, which I gave to my boyfriend, because he started to complain about dry hands, too. This might be an alternative for scent-sensitive people. The main ingredient is glycerin, which is supposed to permeate through several layers of the epidermis and prevent the loss of moisture through it. A 50 ml tube costs around US$5 and it lasts for ages…
Here is the description from Neutrogena’s US web page, the German web page gives more information,  though:
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Neutrogena® Hand Cream delivers effective relief for dry, chapped hands. This clinically proven, highly concentrated formula rapidly heals dry hands. It noticeably improves the look and feel of your skin.Hands feel soft and smooth after just one application.

  • Long-lasting
  • Glycerin-rich
  • Concentrated
  • Available in Original and Fragrance-free
Ingredients:
Aqua, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Dilauryl Thiodipropionate, Sodium Sulfate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Perfume

The second product I want to share with you is  Smith’s Rosebud Salve, a classic for most people, and I also really love it!♥ The one I own is the classic Rosebud Salve with it’s wonderful rose smell. It consists of a petrolatum base and has thus a similar effect to the Neutrogena hand cream by building a layer on the skin and preventing the loss of moisture. It is greasy as petrolatum is supposed to be, but it doesn’t feel sticky or unpleasant at all. The lips have a feel like velvet. The best about this product is, that you can use it for all other things, like for removing make-up, for putting it on rough and dry parts of your skin in general and it is good for nails and cuticle as well. It costs US$6 at sephora and contains 23 g in a retro style metal tin. This is quite a lot product and it will last you a while. At German stores you find Rosebud Salve sometimes, but it costs 12 €, which is way too much!

Here is the description from Rosebud’s web page:

Smith’s Rosebud Salve
A miracle in a can! Our world famous Rosebud Salve has been a family favorite since 1892. Celebrities love the consistency and emollient texture of this #1 selling lip balm and all purpose salve for chapped lips, dry skin, and minor burns. (0.8 oz)
Ingredients: Cotton Seed Oil and Aromol, with essential oils blended in a special petrolatum base.

Cosmetic Uses:

Outline lips with lip liner of your choice about ¼ inches from the outside of your lips toward the center. Then use a lip brush to blend the salve to achieve a “pouty look”.
Use Rosebud Salve alone or over your favorite hue of lipstick to moisturize and give a “dewy effect”.
Apply Rosebud Salve to eyebrows to tame an unruly brow line while also giving sheen.
Rosebud Salve is great on fly-away or frizzy hair. Dab a small amount on the palms of your hands and apply sparingly to tresses.
Use Rosebud Salve as a subtle accent to cheek bones, collar bones, shoulders, or any other body part that you want to moisturize or enhance.
Apply Rosebud Salve lightly to the skin above the eye as a base for powered eye shadow, and then add the desired colors you wish to dazzle your eyes with. The rich emollient properties of the Salve will help to hold that look all day.

All Purpose Uses
Rosebud Salve is perfect for travel as an eye make-up remover, cuticle softener, sunburn easier, dry skin healer, and frizzy fighter. Use Rosebud Salve around the eyes and on the throat for severely parched, dry, or wrinkled skin.

I really like both products a lot and they do a good job during these cold days and I recommend them a lot!♥

Review: Skin Food Salmon Brightening Eye Cream

3. April 2013
Hello everyone! ♥
How were your Easter holidays? After a relaxing long weekend it’s time to get back to work :/ Best time to give a review on Skin Food’s Salmon Brightening Eye Cream, especially for those of you waking up with dark under-the-eyes rings, horrified to take a step outside of the door ;D
I bought this cream last month with one of my ebay hauls and used it since then at least once a day, sometimes twice, and here is finally my review on it.
This cream promises to brighten dark circles under the eyes and brighten up the skin around the eyes.
The description from Skin Food’s webpage says:
Description
Containing arbutin and the extracts of Omega 3-rich salmon roe produced in Hokkaido Japan, this eye cream brightens and relieves dark circles around the eyes.

To Use
After using the toner, apply an appropriate amount around your eyes, and tap the area lightly to help the skin absorb it.
The cream has a thick consistency, you only need a little for covering your skin around your eyes. After applying with a few pats the cream melts into the skin and the consistency becomes liquid instantly. At first it looks a little bit oily, but after a while it absorbs into the skin. It has no strong scent at all. If it has smell at all I couldn’t recognize anything specific.

For the effects: it moisturizes and brightens the eye area for sure! Though, I did not see that my dark circles have vanished completely (I don’t think that this is so easily to achieve). But since it contains arburtin it has to have some kind of brightening effect. This is a very good cream for eyes and I would recommend it for everyone who wants to treat his tiered eyes with something good. My eyes are happy with it so far! Plus, the jar contains 30 g and since you only need a little this jar will last for ages :D
You can buy it at keautystore. A jar costs about US$ 34.00 and for the amount it’s a rather fair price. Also you can use the coupon code here that is provided for my readers :).Edit: I tried another eye cream from Skinfood here, for those who might be intersted. It’s a review abot the Royal Honey Eye Cream and I can conclude that I like the Samon Brightening Eye Cream more. Also, the Salmon Brightening Eye Cream (30 g) costs US$ 23.60 at W2Beauty. If you use my link or the sponsor code 088505 for registration at W2Beauty you’ll get a 5.00 $ voucher after registration, which saves you some money on this product.

Review: Laneige Water Sleeping Pack

26. March 2013
Hello ♥
As you might have read, I purchased a sample-sized jar of  Laneige Water Sleeping Pack with my previous ebay haul. I’m still looking for a good night cream and until now I just used the same moisturizing creams I used during daytime in the night. I have the feeling that I should change this habit soon and put on some more nourishing creams during the night.
Now, I tested  Laneige Water Sleeping Pack, a gel-cream to use one to two times a week during night.

Here is the description from the official site of Laneige:

Light gel-type texture provides intensive hydration, vitality, and brightening effect while restoring skin with deep relaxation.
Product benefits:
Night time skin transmission (permeability) shows higher rate than the one in the day time.
Applying it right before sleep time, the best state for the skin transmission according to the skin circadian rhythm, maximizes the efficiency of overnight water supply.
The function of skin remarkably declines in the night time. Enriched with Beta-glucan, Water Sleeping Pack_EX deeply hydrates fatigue and dry skin while Ceramide SLN formula strengthens the skin barrier.
With containing the Snow Water, it helps to keep your skin look more crystal clear and vitalized.
– Antioxidant effect of Hunza Apricot Extracts helps brighten skin tone evenly by removing harmful oxygen and purifying skin.
– Recovering from Chestnuts promotes turnovers of horny layers to remove dead cells away for vigorous water supply and sleek skin texture.
– An aromatic essence compound exclusively developed by AMOREPACIFIC, Sleepscent™(Patent application No. 10-2009-0043726), helps to relax your mind and body and derive for a good sleep. A good sleep effect allowing sufficient relaxation eventually reinforces skin restoration for healthier skin condition. Essential oils from Orange Flower, Rose, Ylang Ylang, Sandal Wood etc. are contained in the Sleepscent™.
– Light gel-type texture without stickiness but moisture leaves you a comfortable sleep.
How to use:
1. In the evening, follow the face relaxing massage after applying skin refiner and emulsion after face wash.
2. After taking appropriate amount(2.5cm in diameter recommended), mark on nose tip, cheeks, forehead, and chin areas, and feel the scent for about 3 seconds. * Relax your body and mind through the Sleepscent™.
3. Gently spread over the face from inner part to outer part along the skin texture.

4. Go to sleep after absorption without rinsing off. (Wash face in the next morning)* Use once or twice a week.
* Apply more than recommended amount when your skin is particularly dry.
* Open the cap and breathe in the scent of Water Sleeping Pac_EX about 5 seconds before use when you feel a heavy stress.
* Apply to neck area for neck care.
Ingredients:
Beta-Glusan, Hunza Apricot Extracts, Chestnuts Seed Extract, Sleepscent™, Himalaya Snow Water
Everybody sensitive to scents can stop reading here, because this pack has a noticable scent. Laneige calls it “Sleepscent”. It’s a flowery, calming scent that I personally like a lot. I got used to the fresh scent of Missha Super Aqua Marine Stem Cell Cream that I use day and night, but I like Laneige’s scent a lot better. The gel-cream structure of the pack cools the skin while applied and absorbs quickly into the skin without making it greasy or oily. That’s quite important for me, if I consider to use it during night, since I don’t want to have a greasy pillow next morning :D
Honestly, I’m not sure if the “Sleepscent” is the reason why I fell asleep soon, or it was just me being so tired XD but for me this scent is kind of calming. Nevertheless, I couldn’t see any skin brightening effects, just my skin felt moisturized and soft the next day. All together I would say it is a nice alternative in the night care routine. Anybody interested should consider buying a sample-sized jar containing 20 ml for about 5 to 6 US$. The full-sized jar contains 80 ml and costs US$26.99 at cosmetic-love for example.

I joined several blogger networking sites recently. Since GFC seems to end soon, I hope I provided enough alternatives for everybody interested in following my blog. Just have a look at my sidebars :) Or if you know any important networks I missed don’t hesitate and write a comment ♥

Review: Etude House Flower Moistfull Cream

25. March 2013
Here is a review for Etude House Flower Moistfull Cream. I got a whole bunch of samples from this products during my previous ebay haul and used 3 of the sachets till now and here is my impression I got:
First of all you don’t find much description for it. Here is what they write on cosmetic-love for the full-size jar. They also provide a describing image which isn’t written in English unfortunately:

———————————————————————————————
[Features]
Etude House Flower Moistfull Cream: Contain 83% flower water instead water for vital and moist skin.
[Direction]
Apply proper amount at the last step of skincare.
[Capacity]
50ml
———————————————————————————————

Here is a picture from one of the samples I used. also, you can see the gel-like structure the cream has.

The first thing to notice as soon as you tear open the sachet is the smell. It has a nice flowery smell. I’m not sensitive to smell, therefore for me it was really pleasant. If you are sensitive to smell I would not recommend buying this.

Second thing you notice is that you don’t need a lot of product for covering your face. That’s a plus. Then again, this cream moisturizes your skin and makes it feel really soft. I have dry skin and during wintertime it is even worse, but with this it didn’t feel dry during the day. I used it in the morning and waited for it to absorb into the skin and applied BB Cream above. This worked perfectly well for me. ♥ It absorbs quite fast, doesn’t make the skin greasy or oily (though I don’t know how it would be, if applied to oily skin types).
I recommend this cream to everyone looking for a good moisturizing cream. I have some samples of Etude House Collagen Moistfull Cream and I will test them . I could imagine buying one of those in future.
50 ml in a jar cost US$20.88 at cosmetic-love.
