Review: Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream

11. October 2017

We all know how delicate our skin around the eyes is, and it is also the first area where we will observe fine lines and wrinkles. Therefore, it is important to use moisturizer around your eyes, even in younger ages. My current eye cream is the Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream, which I heard many positive things about prior to my bought. After testing this cream for the past months I would like to share my impression with you.

Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream

Innisfree is an eco-friendly Korean skincare and makeup brand focusing on natural ingredients from Jeju island and recycle packaging. The design of their products is simple and neat and nicely reflects the ideology of the brand. Innisfree products are usually free from harmful ingredients. They belong to the Amore Pacific group.

Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream

Innisfree has different lines for their skincare products. The Orchid line with its purple packaging design is dedicated to total care. It contains Jeju Orchid as a key ingredient, which is rich in antioxidants and thereby acts anti-aging. The Jeju Orchid Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream makes your skin smoother, more healthy and elastic and also improves the skin tone.

Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream

The  Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream comes in a jar containing 30 ml, which is a lot! Although I’m already using this for months I’m still in the top quarter of the jar. Since the area around our eyes is not that large you only need a bit every day. It would be great if Innisfree comes up with a tube version of this product because it guarantees a more hygienic use of the product.

Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream

Ingredients of the Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream

The ingredients of the eye cream are listed on the cardboard box and also on the official Innisfree page. You can also find the ingredients listed on COSDNA and Skincarisma:

WATER, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, GLYCERIN, SQUALANE, CETYL ETHYLHEXANOATE, LIMNANTHES ALBA (MEADOWFOAM) SEED OIL, ARBUTIN, COPERNICIA CERIFERA (CARNAUBA) WAX, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER, GLYCERYL STEARATE, CYCLOHEXASILOXANE, ORCHID EXTRACT, CAFFEINE, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, CAMELLIA JAPONICA LEAF EXTRACT, OPUNTIA COCCINELLIFERA FRUIT EXTRACT, CITRUS UNSHIU PEEL EXTRACT, ADENOSINE, C12-20 ALKYL GLUCOSIDE, C14-22 ALCOHOLS, GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE, LAURIC ACID, MYRISTIC ACID, BEHENYL ALCOHOL, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, STEARIC ACID, ARACHIDYL GLUCOSIDE, ARACHIDYL ALCOHOL, XANTHAN GUM, PALMITIC ACID, POLYGLYCERYL-3 METHYLGLUCOSE DISTEARATE, POLYSORBATE 20, POLYACRYLATE-13, POLYISOBUTENE, PROPANEDIOL, PEG-100 STEARATE, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, DISODIUM EDTA, FRAGRANCE

The product is free from parabens, sulfates, alcohol, and EU allergens. It has brightening functions by using arbutin, and anti-aging properties due to the adenosine. Caffeine will revitalize and there are a bunch of plant-based ingredients included, too!

Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream

The Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream has a thick cream formula with a floral scent. It clings to the skin when you apply it and feels very nourishing, but also has a cooling feeling to it. It absorbs very quickly, once patted in and leaves a very light tackiness at first, but does not feel sticky. The tackiness disappears after some moments as well and leaves the skin with a more firm and elastic touch. It does not cause any problems with makeup applied on top once it is absorbed and feels lightweight, too.

Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream

I started to use this cream on my lids as well for some months because I had the feeling that the skin there was starting to lose its elasticity. At first, it was a strange feeling to have cream applied above the eyes, but once it dries down you will not feel it any longer. In my experience, the skin above my eyes now feels much better than it did before. Also in general, this eye cream provides enough nourishment and moisture to make the lines less visible and the skin more elastic. The skin feels very smooth after applying the cream.

Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream

If you are looking for a nourishing and anti-aging eye cream I can recommend you the Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream. I feel that it has improved my skins elasticity and gives it the right amount of hydration and moisture. If you are sensitive towards scents you won’t be liking this eye cream, though: the floral scent is noticeable and lingers for a while. I’m personally very happy with my purchase and I can only confirm the other positive reviews about this cream. I bought the Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream from Beautytap, but there are also other suppliers for this product:

Beautytap for 24US$ (check out my Coupons & Discount page for special deals and codes)

Beautytap for 24US$ (15% off coupon upon registration)

Beautytap for 24US$

Did you try any products from the Innisfree Orchid line? What is your favorite eye cream? I will definitely consider to try out more products from this skincare line.

Review: HICKAP Eyeshadow Palette & Brushes

20. April 2017

Here is my last review for the make-up products from the HICKAP. I’m very excited about these reviews since I was send so many products, which I didn’t except and also since some of the products have become part of my daily make-up, too. The last reviews were about the Lip Pencils and Lipstick, and the Blushes & Bronzer. Today, it is about the HICKAP Eyeshadow Palette & Brushes:

HICKAP Eyeshadow Palette

Let me start with an introduction to the brand: HICKAP is a Swedish clothing and make-up brand brought to life by Wilma and Emil Holmqvist. These two created a YouTube channel with the purpose to enspire people and they were successful with it. Wilmas Beauty is one of Swedens most popular YouTube channels for teenagers these days. Their newly released brand  and its first collection is based on the idea of affordable products boosted with confidence and class. Also, if you are familiar with the online Swedish retailer NA-KD you maybe came across HICKAP, too.

HICKAP Eyeshadow Palette

I was really surprised to find so many products reaching from all ranges of HICKAP’s make-up products. After taking all the pictures I knew that I couldn’t put all the pictures in one post, so I grouped them after all. I started with the HICKAP Lip Pencils & Lipstick, continuing with the Blushes and Bronzer yesterday, and today it is about the HICKAP Eyeshadow Palette and the HICKAP Brushes. But first let’s appreciate the minimalistic and very clean design of the HICKAP products. Black is the main color with a very simply white lettering. The design reminds me of timeless brands like MAC or in kbeauty terms Stylenanda’s 3CE.

HICKAP Eyeshadow Palette

HICKAP Eyeshadow Palette

“Simple to blend and simple to use. Regardless if you are going to a party or enjoying the everyday life.”

The HICKAP Eyesgadow palette comes in a black square shape with a sleek and simple design. It contains 4 different colors: white, light brown, dark brown and black. Two of the shades have a glowy finish (white and light brown), whereas the other two shades (dark brown and black) are matte. I love combinations of eyeshadows with matte and glowy finish. It makes the colors much more versatile to use. What makes this palette special is the magnetic lid. The lid is attached to the bottom part with four magnets on the corners and can be removed fully and separated from the eyeshadows. I never saw a palette with such a lid before, so I was more than amazed by this little extra feature.

HICKAP Eyeshadow Palette

As you can see all the four shades have a visible pigmentation, with the white shade being the most delicate and subtle shade. It is a super nice color as a base though in my opinion. I love the matte brown and black shade, that can be used perfectly for smokey eye make-up. The eyeshadows create fall-off when used and again it depends on the brushes how strong the pigmentation turns out. The colors are all in all neutral and can be used for most daily and evening eye make-up looks.

HICKAP Eyeshadow Palette

HICKAP Brush Collection

I also received 10 brushes from HICKAP of all sizes and shapes, making their Brush Collection. The HICKAP brush collection is a 100% Animal Cruely Free brush set using high quality synthetic hair bristles. These brushes were designed so powder, cream and liquid products are distributed directly to the skin without absorbing or wasting product. Also, the brushes are coated with an antibacterial solution for minimal brush cleansing that makes your brushes stay fresh and clean for longer periods of time.

“With its Vegan makeup qualities from bristles to ferrule this set is a must have in your makeup collection.”

I haven’t tested the brushes long enough to know, if their claim about the antibacterial solution for minimal brush cleansing is true or not, but I can confirm that their bristles are dense and super soft. The bronze metal part around the handle makes them appear high quality too, and also they seem to be sturdy and not easy to get damaged. For applying eyeshadows and blushes these brushes work very well and don’t dissapoint. I haven’t used them for foundations yet (because I mainly use cushions).

HICKAP Eyeshadow Palette

I’m almost sad that this is already my last review of the HICKAP products, but I’m also happy that I was able to introduce them to you. I’m definitely not an expert when it comes to eyeshadows and brushes, but I keep learning every day and I’m happy about a set of really high quality brushes to use for learning here. Also the eyeshadow palette contains all the basic shades a beginner needs to have. I like how there are two matte and two glowy shades and I love the special magnetic lid mechanism it has. The HICKAP Eyeshadow Palette is on sale at the moment, too!

The eyeshadow palette retails for 22.23 € instead of 33.40 €, the Brush collection retails for 50.50 €. Below you can find the links to each of the products:

Review: Sense of Care Hydrogel Eye Patches

5. March 2017

I love hydrogel eye patches! It has such an refreshing and cooling effect on tired eyes, be it in the mornings or in the evening. I received the Sense of Care Hydrogel Eye Patches awhile ago from StyleKorean, just in time when my SNP Bird’s Nest Aqua Eye Patches have been finished. Here is a quick review about these patches:

Sense of Care Hydrogel Eye Patches

The brand Sense of Care (SoC)  is distributed by RainbowBeauty. I didn’t know that brand previously, so actually I don’t know if the brand is called SoC or Sense of Beauty :D If anyone knows more, please let me know. The have a bunch of skincare products available on their site, mainly masks. There are three versions of the hydrogel eye patches available: SoC Gold Snail Hydrogel Eye Patch, SoC Black Pear-EGF Hydrogel Eye Patch, and the SoC Pearl-Diamond Hydrogel Eye Patch.

Sense of Care Hydrogel Eye Patches

I received the Sense of Care Black Pear-EGF Hydrogel Eye Patch and the Pearl-Diamond Hydrogel Eye Patch. All the eye patches come in jars containing 60 pieces of hydrogel patches. The patches are directed towards all skin types and are skin translucent, have moisturizing and nutritious properties. In order to use the patches you have to wash your face first, apply toner around your eyes and place the patches in a proper position onto the skin. Leave the patches for 20-30 minutes before you remove them.

Sense of Care Hydrogel Eye Patches

The SoC Black Pearl-EGF Hydrogel Eye Patch has a high level of amino acids and minerals. It contains Titanium Dioxide and hyaluronic acid as key ingredients. I also spotted Saccharomyces Ferment filtrate and Snail secretaion filtrate, aswell as collagen and EGF. The SoC Pearl-Diamond Hydrogel Eye Patch contains nano diamond for vitalizing and brightening. Most of the ingredients within the Pearl-Diamond Patches are identical to the Black Pearl-EGF Patches. To be honest the differences are so small that for me it appears that only the color of the hydrogel eye patch and the packaging is really the difference.

Sense of Care Hydrogel Eye Patches

Each jar comes with a plastic spoon to take out the patches. Since they are made from hydrogel it can be a bit tricky and slippery to take them out. As you can see both eye patches are made from a translucent hydrogel material. The jars are filled with the essence and keep the patches moist and nice. You have to be careful to seperate the patches and not to take out several eye patches that were stuck together.

Sense of Care Hydrogel Eye Patches

Applying hydrogel patches can be sometimes a hazzle. Depending on how much essence is on the patch it might slide around and not stay on its place as desired. There are days that the patches don’t stay at all and other days were they are stuck perfectly. By the way you can also use the patches on your smilelines. Below you see how the Pearl-Diamond Patch looks like when applied.

Sense of Care Hydrogel Eye Patches

The eye patches have a cooling effect and of course the essence will moisturize the area around your eyes perfectly. I always have the feeling that I look more awake and relaxed after applying eye patches in general and the SOC Hydrogel Eye Patches have the same effect on me. The skin looks refreshed and more healthy afterwards. I didn’t feel any specific differences between the two types though. For me the effect was similar in both cases.

Sense of Care Hydrogel Eye Patches

I’m not sure whether I would repurchase these hydrogel patches. They are good, but also not really much different than other patches I tried. These patches will also last me some while so I doubt that I will be buying other ones any soon. :D  It is a bit dissapointing though that there is no real difference between the two types of eye patches. At the moment they are not available at StyleKorean anymore but on the official site they retail for 19500 Won (~20 US$). I would say that the price seems fair for the amount of patches in each jar.

Did you try any products from this new Korean brand already?

Review: RdeL Young Fabulous Kit Eye Shadow & Lip Colour Palette

23. February 2017

I received these two beautiful RdeL Young Fabulous Kit Eye Shadow & Lip Colour Palettes in December and I feel really sad that I was not able to show these earlier on my blog. Unfortunatelly this limited edition is not available any longer, but still, because of the beautiful colors and packaging I wanted to make a quick review for it here:

RdeL Young Fabulous Kit

RdeL Young is a brand by the German drugstore branch Rossmann. They have affordable makeup products that target young girls and women. The limited edition “Fabulous Kit” consists of two palettes and a cute sequin makeup bag. The palettes are beautifully designed: they come in metal tins and have a vintage-y flower design in soft colors. I would say from the packaging design this collection is better suited for spring, because it definitely delivers some spring vibes, too!

RdeL Young Fabulous Kit

Both palettes contain nine different shades of either lipstick or eye shadow- On the backside of the tins you will find a short description of the product.

RdeL Young Fabulous Kit

The RdeL Young Fabulous Kit Lip Colour Palette contains nine shades of matte lipstick. The shades vary between pink, coral, berry and red and it really makes a nice selection of lip colours.

RdeL Young Fabulous Kit

The RdeL Young Fabulous Kit Eye Shadow Palette contains 9 shades of eye shadow with matte and shimmer textures. The colour range is taupe/mauve and the shades are really neutral and suited for every day.

RdeL Young Fabulous Kit

Here is a close-up of the RdeL Young Fabulous Kit Lip Colour Palette again. The metal tin comes with a mirror inside the lid, too. It doesn’t contain a lip brush though.

RdeL Young Fabulous Kit

Below you can see the swatches of the nine shades. The application is easy and the texture of the lipsticks is creamy. For the darkest shade called “lovely dark” you have to pay more attention on applying it on your lips because it can get uneven depending on the status of your lips (use lip scrub before). The pigmentation of all the shades is good and clearly visible.

RdeL Young Fabulous Kit

Also the RdeL Young Fabulous Kit Eye Shadow Palette comes with a mirror but no applicators.

RdeL Young Fabulous Kit

The color selection is really pretty and neutral and suited for some every day soft smoked out eye makeup. The colors on the left called “quit rise”, “smooth satin” and “gentle noise” are very light pigmented. “smooth satin” and “gentle noise” are very pretty highlighters though. “quiet rise” on the other hand can be used as base and blending eye shadow. “make me shy” is a matte shade in the selection and also together with “perfect sense” and “trembling dark” the darkest shades from the selection.

RdeL Young Fabulous Kit

All in all, I really love these RdeL Young Fabulous Kit Eye Shadow & Lip Colour Palettes and considering the price of 3.49 € they had they were really a steal! The color range of the lipstick palette is super versatile and the colors of the eye shadow palette are neutral and suited for an every day makeup, but also for a more smokey eye. The design of the metal tins with the vintage flower illustrations is super beautiful and therefore I just say: thumbs up! Did you get your hands on this limited edition? What do you think about these palettes? Let me know in the comments below :)

Review: Tonymoly Black Gel Eyeliner

17. January 2017

Eyeliner is the a product that I really use on a daily basis. I could leave the house without foundation, or mascara…but I always use eyeliner. Pen and pencil shaped eyeliner are easy to use, but still I love the depth and color that can be created by gel eyeliners. My current favorite here is the Tonymoly Black Gel Eyeliner, which I received by Korean cosmetics online shop Qdepot.

Tonymoly Black Gel Eyeliner

The Korean brand Tonymoly is best comparable to Etude House regarding its popularity. Unlike, Etude House though, the packaging is not princessy-cute, but offers other cute and fun designs, too. Especially fruit-shaped products (apples, bananas, mango, peach…) and other creative packaging shapes make this brand interesting for western consumers and therefore very popular. I remember that my first Korean makeup products were from Tonymoly actually.

Tonymoly Black Gel Eyeliner

The Tonymoly Black Gel Eyeliner comes in a 4 g jar. It looks like nothing special and has simply a black color, except for the bottom part of the container, which is made from clear see-through plastic, but the surprise lies in the cap, which includes a small eyeliner brush.

Tonymoly Black Gel Eyeliner

The Tonymoly Gel Eyeliners are available in 6 different shades: black, brown, pearl brown, khaki brown, pearl black, and choco brown. Wow, that’s a lot of shades to select from. I usually stick with my regular black color, but I could imagine to try the brown colors, too.

Tonymoly Black Gel Eyeliner

The brush included has a nice shape and is suited perfectly to create bold and fine lines and wings to your lid. I really like working with the brush and it is easy to use, too. The gel eyeliner itself is soft and can be easily spread. The color is a real matte black, which is the perfect classic color for eyeliner.

Tonymoly Black Gel Eyeliner

The formula of the Tonymoly Black Gel Eyeliner is made in a way that it creates a waterproof film and makes it long-lasting. I can only assure you, that the swatches that I did on my hand really were annoying in terms of removing. Of course the color gets less pigmented, but the stain did not vanish completely after several hand washes. On my lid the eyeliner has a great staying power too. Except from the wing which I tend to rub away during the day the eyeliner lasts all day until I remove my makeup.

Tonymoly Black Gel Eyeliner

I simply love the Tonymoly Black Gel Eyeliner! It has that deep black color that I want for my makeup and it is long- lasting too! And even more, the product comes with an included brush! You can buy the Tonymoly Black Gel Eyeliner from QDepot for 10.19 US$, which is a steal for such a great product in my eyes!

Q-depot is an online retailer for Korean cosmetics. They have already quite a variety of the most popular Korean brands and they keep adding products frequently. The site is easy to navigate, too. And they offer free samples for each order and free shipping for orders above US$ 49. They are committed to contributing 3% of their group’s net profit for social causes in different countries. So you can shop for your favorite Korean products and do something good, too. Also, Q-depot is having a promotion were you can get 5 US$ off your first order by using the code SW5OFF (orders +50 US$) or 10% off your first order using SW10OFF.

Review: Realash Pure Advanced Eye Renewal Serum

8. January 2017

Remember my review for the Realash Eyelash Enhancer, a serum for your eyelashes which promotes the growth of your lashes? After I reviewed this amazingly effective serum Realash was so kind as to send me a bunch of other products. Over the past 5 or 6 months I used the Realash Pure Advanaced Eye Renewal Serum until I finished the last drops of it and here is my final verdict about it:

Realash Pure Advanced Eye Renewal Serum

Some words about the brand: Realash Cosmetics is an international cosmetic brands available in 35 countries over the world. In US and UK it is distributed under the brand name Orphica, so please don’t be confused, it is the same brand and product after all. The Realash Pure Advanaced Eye Renewal Serum is dedicated to the area under your eyes. It is designed to hydrate, nourish and smoothen the thin skin we have around our eyes. It can also help to reduce puffiness and dark circles to make your eye area more glowy and refreshed.

Realash Pure Advanced Eye Renewal Serum

The Pure Advanaced Eye Renewal Serum comes in a 15 ml bottle with an attached dropper in the cap. The design of the product is sleek and simple with the characteristic white and pale blue colors of the brand. I like it when brands have a corperate design so you can directly see that the products belong to the same line or brand. The cardboard box of the Pure Advanaced Eye Renewal Serum lists the full ingredients of the product.

Realash Pure Advanced Eye Renewal Serum

Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Citrus Aurantium Amara Flower Extract, Snail Secretion Filtrate, Squalane, Propanediol, Soluble Collagen, Hydrolyzed Elastin, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Spilanthes Acmella Flower Extract, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Enteromorpha Compressa Extract, Carthamus Tincotorius Bud Extract, Tocopherol, Hydrolyzed Caesalpinia Spinosa Gum, Caesalpinia Spinosa Gum, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Niacinamide, Panthenol, Beta-Sitosterol, Retinyl Palmitate, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Squalene, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Isohexadecane, Polysorbate 60,Parfum

In the list there are a couple of ingredients that I want to point out: First of all I was surprised to spot snail secretion listed. I know that asian cosmetic brands use snail secretaion because of its superb nourishing and firming properties on the skin and that there are many people (including me) who love its effects (in my previous review I talked about snail secretion as well). Then we have abyssinian oil which reduces wrinkles, improves the overall condition of the skin and leaves it soft, smooth, and flexible. Sodium hyaluronate strengthens the hydro lipid barrier and collagen helps maintain skin hydration and eliminates wrinkles. It is known to be a great moisturizer in cosmetics products. You will also spot elastin in the list, that helps prevent wrinkles and adds elasticity. Algae thalli, orange flower extract, and pomegranate extract have anti-oxidative and anti-aging properties, and safflower improves skin firmness as well. Spilanthes Acmella flower extract boosts skin elasticity acting like a natural face lift. There are also a bunch of vitamins added to the serum: Vitamin A (promotes soft skin), Vitamin E (prevents inflammation and soothes the skin), and Vitamin B3 (eliminates fine surface wrinkles, smoothes and visibly improves skin tone and skin’s structure). Because of the vitamins the shelf-life of the product is only 6 months after opening and it is advised to not expose the product to sunlight and warm temperatures.

Realash Pure Advanced Eye Renewal Serum

I want to point out the Vitamin A here more detailled, because actually they use Retinyl Palmitate, an ester of retinol combined with palmitic acid and less irritating than retinol. Nevertheless, Retinyl Palmitate is controversly discussed of having hazardous side effects. The reason for its hazardous effects are that it is converted to retinol in the skin. Retinol, (along with tretinoin) can cause severe skin reactions, including peeling, redness, scaling, itching, and burning, and also increases the risk of sunburns and sun induced mutations. Although retinol is a great anti-aging ingredient you have to keep these points in mind and use sunscreen during the day to protect your skin from the UV rays to avoid its side effects. I used the serum during my night-time routine, but nevertheless, I always use sunscreen during day-time to prevent any side effects. I didn’t experience any irritations while using the serum. You can check the whole list via COSDNA, too.

Realash Pure Advanced Eye Renewal Serum

The serum itself has a milky, slightly jelly conistency. It has a clean and sopay scentand feels cooling and refeshing on thje skin. Once is is pat into the skin it absorbs qickly and makes the skin feel firmer and smoother with no sticky residues left. Below you can see images of my eye area before I started using the product and after I finished the bottle of the Pure Advanaced Eye Renewal Serum. You can first of all see that I was slightly tanned in the before picture because it was taken in summer. That’s the reason for my lighter skin tone in the right image, which was takein now in winter time. Apart from my general skin tone my eye area appears more glowy. I didn’t find any changes considering the wrinkles in my under eye area, but since I applied the serum also on my upper lid I feel that my skin is more tight and smoother in my upper eye area. The dark circles look slightly brightened, too. How would you evaluate the result?

Realash Pure Advanced Eye Renewal Serum

The Pure Advanaced Eye Renewal Serum is an awesome cocktail of great and beneficial ingredients and I was surprised about the amount of the key ingredients. The result of the serum convinced me in making my skin being moisturized and nourished in a great way. The visible changes as you can see from the before and after pictures were not vivible while using it daily, but after I compared the two images I could see the difference. I can recommend this serum to you, if you also know that you have the discipline to use sunscreen every day while using this product, since it contains a retinol derivate and you do not want to risk any UV induced irritations. The only downside is the high prize since the serum retails for 80 € or 90 US$ (this is also the main reason why I cannot repurchase it T_T). What do you think about this eye serum? Would you like to try it?

Final Review: Realash Eyelash Enhancer after more than 3 months

15. August 2016

Remember my two previous reviews on the famous eyelash growth serum Realash Eyelash Enhancer? It is time for my final review of this amazing lash growths serum after using it for more than 3 months. Be sure to check out my teaser post here and my review after 6 weeks >>here<<, too! So finally, I can show you my lash growths result for the whole testing period in one post, and I hope this will be helpful for you on deciding whether it is worth to try such an eyelash serum or not. Thanks again for Realash for giving me the opportunity to try out this product!

Realash Eyelash Enhancer
A short Recap: The Realash Eyelash Enhancer is a serum for your eyelashes which promotes the growth of your lashes. It promises not only longer but also thicker and denser lashes when applied regularly. As I said in my previous post there are many eyelash serum available and the prices range between super cheap drugstore brands to super expensive ones. I tried another affordable eyelash serum from Catrice previously, but it didn’t show any significant changes while using it. After reading many positive reviews about the Realash Eyelash Enhancer, which is definitely pricier than the drugstore versions, my expectations were quite high and I was doubtful whether the product lives up to its claims. After testing this serum for more than three months now, regularly at the beginning, and a bit less regularly this month (because of vacation etc.) I can truly say that I am amazed by the Realash Eyelash Enhancer.

Realash Eyelash Enhancer

I already saw the results of the Realash Eyelash Enhancer after 6 weeks more than clearly, and now after so many weeks the result is still visible moreover, I think some of my lashes have become longer than they were already after 6 weeks! Especially the comparison from my lashes at the beginning to how they look now is so amazing, I still cannot really believe it!

Realash Eyelash Enhancer

My lashes have grown longer and denser than they ever were and I’m really very happy that Realash Eyelash Enhancer lives up to its claims. Below you can see another comparison of my lashes during the past weeks and months. The last image shows how my lashes look right now, including makeup and mascara. The difference is really visible. And although I wasn’t using the serum very regularly in the last weeks it still did a great job. After using the serum for quite a time now I feel how the bottle is getting empty and there is not too much left of the Realash Eyelash Enhancer. I hope that some of the results will be visible for some more time, although usually you can expect that once the lashes fall out I will return to my former lashes with time passing…This is probably the hardest part about it!

Realash Eyelash Enhancer

I love the Realash Eyelash Enhancer! It  improved my lashes in every aspect, like length, volume and thickness. I have to point out still that the results vary from person to person and there are surely limits within each individuals genetic disposition, but for effective and visible results I can advise you to skip the super cheap drugstore serum and rather go for a mid-priced eyelash growth serum like this one from Realash! My only downsides for the Realash Eyelash Enhancer is still the price and secondly that I already fear the moment when the tiny bottle of this precious serum is empty and my lashes will start to grow as they did before. The Realash Eyelash Enhancer retails for 70 € and contains 3 ml of serum. So far it lasts for more than 3 months, but it is near to its end.

I hope my review was useful to you and I can advise you to check out the Realash wegpage and the before and after pictures of other testers they show on their show there. Also read my introduction post >>here<< and my thorough review after 6 weeks >>here<<!

Review: VDL Expert Color Primer For Eyes

26. July 2016

For someone who never uses eyeshadow and always has wondered how the eyeshadow of other people is looking good even after a long night out eyeshadow primers will reveal a whole new world. I had the same experience when I tried my first primer and suddenly all the world around eye makeup and eyeshadow made sense. I’m happy to be able to introduce to you the VDL Expert Color Primer For Eyes, which was offered to me by BBCOSMETIC for reviewing purpose. This primer is one of the most famous ones in Korea.

VDL Expert Color Primer For Eyes

VDL is a Korean brand by LG Household & Healthcare. The sleek and modern design of their products is unmistakable and is surely part of their popularity. Especially the primer from VDL have a very good reputation (I also bought the VDL Lumilayer Primer for the face, but I didn’t review it yet). The VDL Expert Color Primer For Eyes comes in a sleek cardboard packaging. Yet you will find reflective elements on the cardboard box and their colorful reflexions make it appear really modern and trendy. The primer itself comes in a square and simple tube, reminding me of brands like MAC and NARS.

On the cardboard box you will find the descriptions in Korean and English. The ingredients are also available on COSDNA (Thanks to Evelyn :*) if you are interested in looking them up. Using the VDL Expert Color Primer For Eyes is really simple, since it comes with a sponged applicator tip. The light beige fluid is applied thinly on the lid and blended in with the fingertip. You have to wait for a short time for the product to absorb before you can continue to apply the eyeshadow on top. It is advertised to be used on oil-free lids, so be sure to blot the skin.

VDL Expert Color Primer For Eyes

As you can see from the swatch above the VDL Expert Color Primer For Eyes has a glossy finish. Therefore, when applying eyeshadow they appear more vibrant and pigmented than without. Also it helps to make powdery eyeshadow containing shimmer or glitter to appear more prominent. The VDL Expert Color Primer For Eyes does a good job in that it really makes the eyeshadow colors pop. In terms of long-lasting it gives the eyeshadow a boost, too, but you have to be sure to apply on the dried primer. Also, for oily lids the lasting-power is reduced. I have the feeling that it is less lasting than the matte eyeshadow primers, like the one from essence cosmetics for example.

VDL Expert Color Primer For Eyes

The VDL Expert Color Primer For Eyes is a pretty descent eye shadow primer and I see why it is so popular. I really like how it brings out the colors of the eyeshadow and makes especially the shimmery ones look super great. It also helps to prevent the settling of the eyeshadow into the lines. In terms of long-livity of the used eyeshadow, it definitely does extend the wearability of eyeshadow, but not as much as other eye primers do. This might also be related on the grade of oiliness your eyelid has. I received this primer from BBCOSMETIC, but it is out of stock there at the moment. But they have a bunch of other products from VDL also worth a look. You can also use the voucher Q2C8JX9N45R3O  in order to get 10 % discount on BBCOSMETIC.

Etude House Play 101 Pencils No. 77 and 79| Pink Bird Box May 2016

20. June 2016

After last month’s pink bird box, which included all three Etude House Bubble Tea Sleeping Packs, this month’s pink bird box is packed with makeup products. Since I had so many pictures for this post I decided to make three reviews, each focussing on one of the three newly released products out of this box: The Etude House Dear My Dear Lip-Talk Chiffon, the Etude House Real Powder Cushion and new colors of the Etude House Play 101 Pencils. The last review will be about the Etude House Play 101 Pencils in No. 77 and 79. For my previous review on the Etude House Dear My Dear Lip-Talk Chiffon you can click >>here<< and for the Etude House Real Powder Cushion click >>here<<.

Etude House Play 101 Pencils

First of all, some words about the Korean brand Etude House: Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adorable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging… Etude House has a blogger program called Pink Bird. Selected blogger will receive a monthly box for a defined period of time packed with selected products for reviewing purpose. I’m really proud and happy to be part of their Pink Bird program!

Etude House Play 101 Pencils

I reviewed the Etude House Play 101 Pencils when they were released the first time. There were so many colors and different textures available that it was hard to select only a couple of these beautiful multifunctional pencils. Recently, Etude House released 4 new colors in addition to the existing ones, of which I will show you two:

Etude House Play 101 Pencils

The Etude House Play 101 Pencils in shade 77 and 79 come each packed in a cardboard box. Each pencil has a cap to protect the bullet and a tiny sharpener hidden on the end side of the pencil. I love the included sharpener since it is super handy to have one for each color.

Etude House Play 101 Pencils

The pencils have a creamy consistency and glide smoothly on the skin. Shade 77 is a golden-beige shade, very pretty for the inner corners of the eyes, but also a nice eyeshadow color. Shade 79 is a pink- rose, which is also wearable on the lips or cheeks. Both colors contain shimmer particles. Shade 79 has also a bit of a glossy effect in addition.

Etude House Play 101 Pencils

I was loving the versatility and color selection of the Etude House Play 101 Pencils before and I’m still on with my opinion about these multipurpose pencils. They are affordable and you will find almost any color and the four new shades are a perfect addition to the selection. They retail for 7.80 US $ on the official Etude House Global Store or all the four new colors in a set for 31.20 US $.

Review: Realash Eyelash Enhancer | Update after 6 Weeks

31. May 2016

Remember my teaser post for the Realash Eyelash Enhancer I received from Realash for reviewing purpose? I started using it back then and I promised to give updates on my eyelashes after 6 weeks of using this eyelash growth serum and another final conclusion after 3 months. The first 6 weeks passed so quickly and I was absolutely sure that the changes in my eyelash growth would be moderate or small, barely visible… But let’s take a look at the results so far using my before and after pictures:

Realash Eyelash Enhancer

The Realash Eyelash Enhancer is a serum for your eyelashes which promotes the growth of your lashes. It promises not only longer but also thicker and denser lashes when applied regularly. As I said in my previous post there are many eyelash serums available and the prices range between super cheap drugstore brands to super expensive ones.

Realash Eyelash Enhancer

The hardest part in using an eyelash serum is to get used to the additional step in my night-time routine. In order to see the effect of the serum you have to apply it regularly in the evenings on your lash line. It helps to remind yourself by some note in your calendar or by putting the serum on your bedside table. For sure I skipped 2 or 3 days during the last weeks because I either was not at home and forgot to take it with me or I simply was home to late and fell into my bed sleeping directly without even removing my makeup (don’t take this as an example please…this is one of my bad habits I’m trying to get rid off XD ). Nevertheless, I was more than surprised when I compared my before and after pictures of my lashes:

Realash Eyelash Enhancer

Looking at the picture above you already see that my lashes are definitely longer than 6 weeks ago! And I’m not using any mascara in the images!!! Wow….and even more amazed I was when I compared my lashes with closed eyes. The piece of paper helps to see if the lashes are thicker and denser. The result blew my mind!

Realash Eyelash Enhancer

I was especially curious about how the Realash Eyelash Enhancer affects the density and thickness of my lashes because it is the feature I love most about mascara. Seeing the picture above I would almost say that there is no need of mascara wouldn’t it be for curling and holding the curl of the lashes! Below you see an image of how the lashes differ without and with mascara. It really gives the eyes a more dramatic effect.

Realash Eyelash Enhancer

Below you see my simple daily eye makeup using eyeliner and mascara only and I’m so happy about my longer and denser lashes. My boyfriend even asked the other day if I’m wearing falsies! That’s a big compliment for Realash and the Realash Eyelash Enhancer since it is exactly what they claim to achieve with it.

Realash Eyelash Enhancer

For me the Realash Eyelash Enhancer did the trick and it really improved the length, volume and thickness of my eyelashes. The result seems to vary from person to person and there are surely limits within each individuals genetic disposition, but for effective and visible results I can advise you to skip the super cheap drugstore serums and rather go for a mid-priced eyelash enhancer. Your nightly invested time will have a more visible result with these. I will continue to use this serum and I will write a final conclusion about the Realash Eyelash Enhancer after 3 months of using it, but I’m sure that the lashes will stay bout the same as now as long as I apply it regularly. And here comes also my only downside about eyelash serums in general: Usually, when you stop the use of the serum and the lashes fall out after their growth period you will probably return to your good old lashes from before…The Realash Eyelash Enhancer retails for 70 € and contains 3 ml of serum. So far it lasts and I hope it will last for more than 3 months.

I hope my review was useful to you and I can advise you to check out the Realash wegpage and the before and after pictures of other testers they show on their show there. Also read my introduction post >>here<<!
