Review: Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion

7. January 2017

Happy new year! This is my first post in 2017 and I feel really relaxed after two weeks of vacation. As you noticed I was mostly unactive on my blog except for occasional Instagram pictures, but now I’m happy to be back with tons of reviews…starting with the Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion. So I know that many of you love sheet masking and even more love snail filtrate containing products. Keep reading to know more abot this sheet mask which combnines both:

Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion

Wish Formula is one of these Korean brands I know for quite, but didn’t try many products from them. My favorite product so far was Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad and I still have a couple of products from this brand waiting here to be reviewed. Wish Formula has two different versions of their Wish Formula The Mask Sheet Masks, one with Centella Honey Fermented Serum and the one shown here with Snail Milk Lotion.

Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion

Before I scare those of you off who never have heard of snail secretion filtrate as ingredient for skincare: Snail Mucus claims to be rich in hyaluronic acid and antioxidants and thus help our skin to regenerate stimulating the formation of collagen, elastin and dermal components that repair the signs of photoaging. Also, it claims to minimize the damage generated by free radicals that are responsible for premature skin aging (there is a wikipedia entry for snail mucus, too.). The snail mucus is not obtained by harming the snails, but it is collected is so-called snail farms.

Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion

The Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion is directed towards protecting and strengthening irritated skin. Furthermore ingredients like aloe and hyaluronic acid provide the skin with hydration and have a refreshing effect. The ingredients are listed in English on the backside of the sachet in which the sheet mask is packed. By the way, I’m in love with the delicate illustration of the sachet with the simple flowers and the snail, leaving it still quite minimalistic. The ingredients list is also short which I love, too:

Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Apricot Kernel Oil, Snail Secretaion Filtrate, Polyglutamic Acid, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Centella Asiatica Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Morus Alba Bark Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizae, Allantoin, Sodium Polyacrylate, Polyacrylate-13, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate 20, Chlorphenesin, Methylparaben, Parfum

I added the list to COSDNA here and you can check the single ingredients there. Mostly green labelled ingredients and the only potential acne irritant could be the apricot kernel oil.

Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion

The Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion is a thick cotton sheet mask soaked with a lotion-type milky essence. It is packed without any additional plastic in the sachet. There is plenty of essence in the sachet after taking out the mask, so your sheet mask won’t dry out while storing it for a longer period, and also you can use the left-over essence on your arms and neck, and so on. Don’t waste all these moisturizing ingredients! I personally like cotton sheet masks slightly better than hydro gel masks although hydrogel masks tend to have a better fit. Although this mask from Wish Formula doesn’t fit perfectly on my face, it stays on its place and doesn’t keep sliding and falling around while wearing it for the recommended 15-20 minutes. After the time the skin feels moisturized and refreshed and even calmed. And the sheet mask didn’t dry out at all!

Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion

Thumbs up for Wish Formula The Mask With Snail Milk Lotion! I love the essence of this sheet mask and I love the thick cotton fabric. Furthermore this ingredients list is perfect contining mainly the basic ingredients needed. Definitely a repurchase product for me and it provides a ot of hydration and moisture. I saw that they also sell the mask in a cardbox of 10 sachets, but also as big box containing 50 sheet masks (not packed separately). Did you try this mask from Wish Formula already? What is your opinion on snail mucus?

Review: Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad

25. August 2016

When I received the Wish Formula Fermented Oil.Free Dr. Mild Sunblock for testing I was surprised by a sachet of the Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad, too! I’ve been curious about this product since it launched, so it was nice to be able to test it before I could order it myself.

Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad

Wish Formula is one of these Korean brands I know for quite a while but apart from their Panda Eye Essence Patch, and recently their Wish Formula Fermented Oil-Free Dr. Mild Sunblock, I never tried many other products from this brand. They have a selection of skincare products and all appear very clean and dermatologically (?!) in a way. Also the Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad has a very scientific looking packaging, with a sachet shaped like a beaker from the lab. The Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad is  peeling pad infused with vitamin C and fermented botanical extracts. The pad has a dual side, one rough for exfoliating, the other for softly brightening up your skin. C200 means the pad contains 200 mg of Vitamin C. There is a second peeling pad called C450 which is larger and designed for the body, whereas C200 is designed to use on your face.

Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad

The ingredients of the pads are listed below and according to COSDNA we see that there are some red labbeled ingredients listed aswell. But before you panick, let’s take a closer look. The first ingredient with is red labelled is Cocamide DEA, also called Coconut Fatty Acid Diethanolamide. It is derived from Coconut oil as the name already says and it is used as surfactant and foam booster. If you check for this ingredient you will find that many well-known brands have products containing this inngredient. Even big brands like Lush/ L’Oreal/Boots…mostly it is used in shampoos oder body/face washes. There was a discussion that stated that Cocamide DEA is cancerous and depending on the concentration and the use it might be. Recent studies have shown though, that for rinse off products Cocamide DEA is safe to use and even if you leave it on the skin for a certain time it still depends on the concentration. Since this peeling pad is a product you will rinse off after all you should not be worried too much about this ingredient. The second red labbeled ingredient is the preservative DMDM Hydrantoin. Here again, the product is labbeled red because it can cause allergic reactions when used in high concentrations, which should not be the case here. Other ingredients worth to mention are lactid acid and glycolic acid for exfoliation and whitening, ascorbic acid of course for whitening and as antioxidant. Lactobacillus and Ferment Filtrate extracts and some other plant based extracts and oil. There is also Hyaluronic Acid for moisturization.
Ingredients: Water, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate, Coca midopropyl Betaine, Cocamide DEA, Lactid Acid, Glycolic Acid, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Ascorbic Acid, Polyglutamic Acid, Apium Graveolens (Celery) Extract, Brassia Oleracea Capitata (Cabbage) Leaf Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Solanum Lycoperisum (Tomato) Fruit/Leaf/Stem Extract, Brassica Rapa (Turnip) Leaf Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (carrot) Root Extract, Brassica Oleacea Italica (Brokkoli) Extract, Arginine, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, DMDM Hydantoin

Some words about ascorbic acid first:

Vitamin C is an antioxidant and thus can prevent our skin from aging too early. You have to know that a high concentration of Vitamin C doesn’t mean automatically that it is more effective concerning anti-aging. Normally, a high concentration of Vitamin C aims at a visible effect, because it tends to operate as a peeling by loosening dead and old cells. This is not a bad effect and stimulates the skin to regenerate itself, but keep in mind that it won’t affect the inner cell layers of your skin which have to be aimed if you really want an anti-aging effect.

Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad

Okay, apart from a bunch of promising exfoliating ingredients, how does the C200 Bubble Peeling Pad work? The pad comes packed in a sachet, upon opening it you will find a soaked pad inside. It feels quite heavy, because it is full of the peeling essence, and once you squeeze it a bit you will see that it foams up. The packaging states that one pad contains 15 ml of product. The pad has two sides: a rough, fiber side and a soft side. In order to use the peeling pad first cleanse you face and leave it damp. Then squeeze the pad a couple of times until it foams up. The rub the face with the fiber side for 2-3 minutes leaving out mouth and eye region. Depending on your skin do not be too forceful. Afterwards, flip the band of the pad to use the other soft side. Use it to pad the essence with the vitamin c into the skin. Afterwards rinse it off. The foam is super dense and soft and the product has a light lemon-y scent. The fiber side effeiciantly scrubs and peels the skin and if you have flaky skin it will help you to get rid of the flakes and make your skin feel smooth. I also discovered that my skin looks brighter directly  after using it and has a nice glow. I love how so many asian products are efficient with helping your skin to look more healthy and dull!

Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad

I really like the C200 Bubble Peeling Pad and I want to grab more of these in future! Not for using them too often though, but once in a while it is great to have an efficient facial peeling. I love how easily the pad creates a dense foam, even after using it the pad contained enough essence and foam for more useages – BUT, please be careful! According to Wish Formula a pad can be used 3 times. But you should not use such a harsher exfoliator more than 1-2 times a week. Since the sachet is opened I would not recommend you to store it for longer time than 2-3 days though, because it is not really hygienic! The second point is that Vitamin C oxidizes and you do not want to use oxidzed voitamin c on your skin. What I did with my pad after one time use? I used it on my body the next day while showering…a great body peel! By the way, if you have sensitive skin you can only use the soft side instead of using both sides of the pad. And don’t forget to use a rich or repairing cream afterwards, despite your skintype. Ahhh, and by the way, the PH is around 4 for this peeling pad!

Review: Wish Formula Fermented Oil-Free Dr. Mild Sunblock

22. June 2016

A while ago I received the Wish Formula Fermented Oil-Free Dr. Mild Sunblock from Wish Formula and here are my thoughts on this new product. Although you should wear sunscreen everyday most people only think about their skin and sunburns when the warm seasons approach. I just want to remind you that despite the weather you should care about your skin and the potential harm the UV radiation is capable of- even if you do not see sunburns directly. Usually, with asian sunscreens you have to differentiate between the sunscreens which are made for outdoor activities and your day on the beach and the everyday sunscreens. Since this sunblock has not stated that it is waterproof or sweat-resistant I would categorize this in the everyday section and not suited for taking a sunbath at the beach.

Wish Formula Fermented Oil-Free Dr. Mild Sunblock

Wish Formula is one of these Korean brands I know for quite a while but apart from their Panda Eye Essence Patch I never tried any other products from this brand. They have a selection of skincare products and all appear very clean and dermatologically (?!) in a way. Also the Wish Formula Fermented Oil-Free Dr. Mild Sunblock has a very simple and neat design. The key color is white and the sunblock comes in a regular tube containing 65 g of product.

Wish Formula Fermented Oil-Free Dr. Mild Sunblock

The Wish Formula Fermented Oil-Free Dr. Mild Sunblock is designed to give UV protection and be oil-free. Furthermore, it is hypoallergenic and has moisturizing properties.

Wish Formula Fermented Oil-Free Dr. Mild Sunblock

The cardboard box also has the English ingredients listed. It contains Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, 4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor, Titanium Dioxide, and Bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine as sun protection ingredients, giving the product SPF 50 +/ PA+++. 4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor is red labelled according to COSDNA. The other ingredients in the list are mostly safe to use, with some potential irritants and acne triggers included. I personally didn’t feel any negative influence on the condition of my skin while using this sunscreen. The fermented ingredients included are Clover Flower Ferment Extract by Lactobacillus and Peppermint Leaf Ferment Extract by Saccharomyces. Moreover it contains hyaluronic acid and aloe vera for moisturizing the skin. I did an collaboration interview on fermented cosmetics >>here<<, so if you are curious about my opinion on fermented products and why I love them head over :)

Wish Formula Fermented Oil-Free Dr. Mild Sunblock

The Wish Formula Fermented Oil-Free Dr. Mild Sunblock has a creme-type consistency. It is not as fluid as the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel or the Isehan Sunkiller Perfect Sun Plus. It contains Cetearyl Alcohol, too, which helps that the product absorbs quickly into the skin. When rubbed I to the skin it leaves a slight white cast first, which adapts quickly though. The sunscreen is not greasy or dewy. Despite containing Aloe Vera and hyaluronic acid it doesn’t feel moisturizing, but also not drying. I would describe it as well-balanced. Since it is not slippery or greasy on the skin it can be used with makeup on top and does not slide around.

Wish Formula Fermented Oil-Free Dr. Mild Sunblock

The Wish Formula Fermented Oil-Free Dr. Mild Sunblock is a good everyday sunblock which can be used below your makeup. It isn’t as hydrating as the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel, but other than that we’ll balanced and deserves the name addition “oil-free”. I didn’t see any significant changes of my skin’s quality because of the fermented ingredients, but still it is a nice plus for this sunblock. It would be nice if Wish Formula updates the formula of this sunscreen to contain even less potential irritants.

Review: Wish Formula Panda Eye Essence Mask

18. April 2014
I love using eye masks, when I feel my eyes are tired and I recognise puffiness around my eye area. The cooling sensation directly makes me feel relieved. Since there are a lot of those eye masks, I’m currently trying several different ones. That is how I stumbled upon Wish Formula Panda Eye Essence Mask from Wishtrend.

This eye mask comes in a black sachet with a cute panda bear on it smiling at you :D. The ingredients are written on the front directly, and in English, too. Each sachet contains two eye masks, one for each eye.
Here are the ingredients of the eye mask:
water, ascorbic acid, saccharomyces, Viscum Album (Mistletoe) Ferment extract, butylene glycol, saccharomyces/Imperata cylindrica Root ferment extract, sodium lactate, lactobacillus/soybean ferment extract, black strap powder, arbutin, 1,2-Hexanediol, bacillus ferment, centella asiatica extract, aspergillus/Saccharomyces/Glycyrrhiza uralensis root extract ferment filtrate, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, xanthan gum, arginine, tocopherylacetate, backhousia citriodora leaf oil, adenosine, honey, phenoxyethanol
The ingredients are really nice and no harmful ingredients are contained. Yeast fermented extracts are one of the main ingredients. Also, it contains Vitamin C and vitamin E. You can check the ingredients on COSDNA >>here<<. On the back side of the sachet the instructions are written on Korean only, but the image of how to wear the eye mask are sufficient enough for using the mask.
This eye mask is supposed to hydrate the skin around your eyes and provide nourishment with different extract in order to prevent the skin from aging effects. As soon as you open the package you should use it right away, so that the vitamin C does not oxidise. The color of the essence is yellow. The eye mask sheets are not separated by an additional plastic foil but stick together. The sachet also contains a quite amount of leftover essence. I used the leftover essence by its own the days after using the mask itself.
The eye mask delivers a proper amount of moisture for the skin around the eye area. Also, it gives you a cooling sensation, especially if you keep it in the refrigerator before. After using it my eyes look less tired and puffy. Since the ingredients are really nice and the effects of both vitamin C and yeast fermented extract are known, I’m sure, that these eye masks will show some kind of longterm effect (see my review on OST Vitamin C serum if you are interested >>here<<). I really want to try more of these eye masks. You can get these masks from Wishtrend for 2.99 US$ each or in a box with 10 sachets for 18.99 US$. If you are not yet registered on Wishtrend you can use the promo code 17939205 or my invite link to receive a 5 US$ coupon before making your first purchase.

As you can see I’ve changed my rating system. I’m using a scale of 10 points for the categories design, application, ingredients, hygiene, effect and price. The average points build total rating. Hope you like this way better than it was before :)
