Remember my review for the Realash Eyelash Enhancer, a serum for your eyelashes which promotes the growth of your lashes? After I reviewed this amazingly effective serum Realash was so kind as to send me a bunch of other products. Over the past 5 or 6 months I used the Realash Pure Advanaced Eye Renewal Serum until I finished the last drops of it and here is my final verdict about it:
Some words about the brand: Realash Cosmetics is an international cosmetic brands available in 35 countries over the world. In US and UK it is distributed under the brand name Orphica, so please don’t be confused, it is the same brand and product after all. The Realash Pure Advanaced Eye Renewal Serum is dedicated to the area under your eyes. It is designed to hydrate, nourish and smoothen the thin skin we have around our eyes. It can also help to reduce puffiness and dark circles to make your eye area more glowy and refreshed.
The Pure Advanaced Eye Renewal Serum comes in a 15 ml bottle with an attached dropper in the cap. The design of the product is sleek and simple with the characteristic white and pale blue colors of the brand. I like it when brands have a corperate design so you can directly see that the products belong to the same line or brand. The cardboard box of the Pure Advanaced Eye Renewal Serum lists the full ingredients of the product.
Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Citrus Aurantium Amara Flower Extract, Snail Secretion Filtrate, Squalane, Propanediol, Soluble Collagen, Hydrolyzed Elastin, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Spilanthes Acmella Flower Extract, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Enteromorpha Compressa Extract, Carthamus Tincotorius Bud Extract, Tocopherol, Hydrolyzed Caesalpinia Spinosa Gum, Caesalpinia Spinosa Gum, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Niacinamide, Panthenol, Beta-Sitosterol, Retinyl Palmitate, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Squalene, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Isohexadecane, Polysorbate 60,Parfum
In the list there are a couple of ingredients that I want to point out: First of all I was surprised to spot snail secretion listed. I know that asian cosmetic brands use snail secretaion because of its superb nourishing and firming properties on the skin and that there are many people (including me) who love its effects (in my previous review I talked about snail secretion as well). Then we have abyssinian oil which reduces wrinkles, improves the overall condition of the skin and leaves it soft, smooth, and flexible. Sodium hyaluronate strengthens the hydro lipid barrier and collagen helps maintain skin hydration and eliminates wrinkles. It is known to be a great moisturizer in cosmetics products. You will also spot elastin in the list, that helps prevent wrinkles and adds elasticity. Algae thalli, orange flower extract, and pomegranate extract have anti-oxidative and anti-aging properties, and safflower improves skin firmness as well. Spilanthes Acmella flower extract boosts skin elasticity acting like a natural face lift. There are also a bunch of vitamins added to the serum: Vitamin A (promotes soft skin), Vitamin E (prevents inflammation and soothes the skin), and Vitamin B3 (eliminates fine surface wrinkles, smoothes and visibly improves skin tone and skin’s structure). Because of the vitamins the shelf-life of the product is only 6 months after opening and it is advised to not expose the product to sunlight and warm temperatures.
I want to point out the Vitamin A here more detailled, because actually they use Retinyl Palmitate, an ester of retinol combined with palmitic acid and less irritating than retinol. Nevertheless, Retinyl Palmitate is controversly discussed of having hazardous side effects. The reason for its hazardous effects are that it is converted to retinol in the skin. Retinol, (along with tretinoin) can cause severe skin reactions, including peeling, redness, scaling, itching, and burning, and also increases the risk of sunburns and sun induced mutations. Although retinol is a great anti-aging ingredient you have to keep these points in mind and use sunscreen during the day to protect your skin from the UV rays to avoid its side effects. I used the serum during my night-time routine, but nevertheless, I always use sunscreen during day-time to prevent any side effects. I didn’t experience any irritations while using the serum. You can check the whole list via COSDNA, too.
The serum itself has a milky, slightly jelly conistency. It has a clean and sopay scentand feels cooling and refeshing on thje skin. Once is is pat into the skin it absorbs qickly and makes the skin feel firmer and smoother with no sticky residues left. Below you can see images of my eye area before I started using the product and after I finished the bottle of the Pure Advanaced Eye Renewal Serum. You can first of all see that I was slightly tanned in the before picture because it was taken in summer. That’s the reason for my lighter skin tone in the right image, which was takein now in winter time. Apart from my general skin tone my eye area appears more glowy. I didn’t find any changes considering the wrinkles in my under eye area, but since I applied the serum also on my upper lid I feel that my skin is more tight and smoother in my upper eye area. The dark circles look slightly brightened, too. How would you evaluate the result?
The Pure Advanaced Eye Renewal Serum is an awesome cocktail of great and beneficial ingredients and I was surprised about the amount of the key ingredients. The result of the serum convinced me in making my skin being moisturized and nourished in a great way. The visible changes as you can see from the before and after pictures were not vivible while using it daily, but after I compared the two images I could see the difference. I can recommend this serum to you, if you also know that you have the discipline to use sunscreen every day while using this product, since it contains a retinol derivate and you do not want to risk any UV induced irritations. The only downside is the high prize since the serum retails for 80 € or 90 US$ (this is also the main reason why I cannot repurchase it T_T). What do you think about this eye serum? Would you like to try it?
