Review: Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

27. February 2016

When I tried out the first product from the brand Klairs I would have never thought of that it becomes one of my favorite skincare brands. I’ve tried so many of their products and there wasn’t a single one which I despised. Now, I was able to try their newest product, the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream which will be launching on 10th of March. Another exciting news for you: Wishtrend is still looking for 20 beauty testers for the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream. Click >>here<< to see how to apply. Recruiting period will be until 1st of March!

Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

Klairs is a Korean brand sold on Wishtrend. It is eco-friendly, claiming to produce products which are animal-testing-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free, and artificial-color-free. Their products adress people with sensitive skin and people who want to moisturize their skin. I reviewed some of their products before, like the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum or the Klairs Gentle Black Cleansing Combo, which both convinced me in their effects. I also did like the Klairs Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner, which by the way has been updated and improved recently to a larger volume and more moisturizing ingredients. The new Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream was designed for those people loving the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing line, but still had concerns about irritated skin. Here is the explanation by Klairs:

“The KLAIRS’ Rich Moist Soothing line is loved for its excellent calming & moisturizing effects by many consumers. We believe the primary reason for the popularity of the Soothing line was due to the high satisfaction most of our customers felt from the powerful moisturizing effect. However, we wanted to design the optimal product for the few customers who were still experiencing irritations from external stimuli with additional skin concerns. After a long-term of researching with the R&D team, the KLAIRS’s Midnight Blue Calming Cream was created to go that extra mile.”

Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

So the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream is a comforting moisture cream that provides the skin with intense, soothing hydration. It is designed for targeting the irritated areas of the face and therefore is mainly used for smaller areas, but can be spread easily and also used on the full face. The cream comes in the typical Klairs design with simple packaging and vintage-esque appearance. The cardboard box has the English and the Korean description available and you can check the full ingredients >>here<<. The cream is formulated using guaiazulene combined with Centella asiatica extract and various peptides to recover damaged skin cells from stress and stimulation.

Guaiazulene: Guaiazulene is a herbal ingredient extracted from Chamomille. Due to its natural purple color the cream appears blue. It has soothing and cooling properties on inflammation and damaged skin and also affects skin regeneration. It is often used as ingredient for burn ointments.

Centella Asiatica Extract : This extract has healing properties and helps regenerating damaged skin and preventing scars. It is anti-inflammatory and has skin conditioning properties.

Other ingredients as Sodium Hyaluronate, Ceramide 3, Butyrospermum, Parkii (Shea Butter), Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil have moisturizing properties. Also, you will spot soybean ferment extract in the list. Unfortunately, the cream also contains Triethanol amine and a few potential irritants, so be sure to check whether you are allergic to any of the ingredients. The cream also contains three different peptides: SH-Polypeptide-1, SH-Polypeptide-9, and SH-Polypeptide-11. I talked about peptides in my review for the Proformula Skin Reset AHA 7 Lifting Pack.

Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

The directions for use are to apply a small amount on the affected area in the morning and evening after using toner and serum as last step of the skincare routine. Wait until it absorbs fully, so your makeup will not pile up. The cream is a blue cream, as described above and it has the classic facial cream consistency, except for the color. The Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream comes with a spoon/ spatula and you can take out the cream out of the jar without using your fingers. The blue color is gorgeous, but even more amazing is the herbal scent the cream has. It is not a bitter herbal-flowery scent, which I do not like, but it has the scent of fresh herbs from a meadow with wild flowers growing all over….that’s my imagination at least :D It does contain Ylang Ylang and Eucalyptus, too…and a Camomile of course. I love the scent! The cream is easy to spread and also doesn’t take to long to absorb. It dries off matte and doesn’t leave any greasy residues. It is not a deep moisturizer, but it doesn’t claim to be one, so if you have dry skin you can or should still keep using a moisturizer with this cream. I’m still not sure if it is best to apply the midnight blue cream before the moisturizer or after. I tried both, but I didn’t feel any differences between the two ways. I personally think it makes more sense to apply the calming cream first onto the desired areas and add a moisturizer on top. What are your suggestions?

Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream Vs. Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream

The first question I had in mind was how the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream compares to the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream? I used up my first jar of the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream super quickly, because I liked the texture and it was nicely spreadable onto the skin. I’ve started a second ja recently. The most obvious difference between the two cream is the color, which is resulting in the different key ingredients. The Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream has Glycerine and Hyaluronic Acid as main moisturizing ingredients, but also contains a lot of plant extracts. Moreover it contains yeast derived Beta-Glucan for soothing and also Ceramide 3. Unlike the Midnight Blue Cream it doesn’t come with a spatula. The spreadability of both creams is similar, but the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream absorbs few seconds more quickly than the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream. Unfortunately, I do not have any meassures to compare the amount of moisture each of these creams is providing, but once absorbed both creams are not greasy but dry off matte. I think that the two creams make a good duo for using on the skin on almost all skintypes (of course given the fact that your skin doesn’t have any allergies to any of the ingredients).

Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

I propapbly do not have to repeat myself and tell you how much I like the brand Klairs. Having tried almost all their products I can say that I like both the Klairs creams and I think that the new Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream is a great addition to the rich moist soothing line. I can recommend you to try the cream! Grab your chances and be one of the 20 testers for this cream or wait until it launches on March 10th. The cream retails for 24.50 US$ and has a volume of the jar is 30 ml. The cream is available at Wishtrend and you will find all the information about this new product >>here<<. Ah, and by the way, you can look up my other reviews on Klairs products >>here<<. Would you like to try this cream?

Review: Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop

7. December 2015

// PSR SAMPLE / SKINCARE / KBEAUTY //

I’ve mentioned a couple of times that I love including vitamin C serum in my skincare routine. I’ve tried a couple of them already, but Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop was not on my list yet. I was very happy, that Wishtrend asked me whether I wanted to try this rather newly launched vitamin C serum because I’ve been very happy with all of the Klairs products I tried so far. Let’s see how the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum performs!

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop

Klairs is a Korean brand sold on Wishtrend. It is eco-friendly, claiming to produce products which are animal-testing-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free, and artificial-color-free. Their products address people with sensitive skin and people who want to moisturize their skin. I reviewed some of their products before, like the Klairs Illuminating Supple BB Cream or the Klairs Gentle Black Cleansing Combo, which both convinced me in their effects. I also did like the Klairs Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner, which by the way has been updated and improved recently to a larger volume and more moisturizing ingredients. But let us return to the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop for this post.

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop

Klairs is known for very simple packaging design, reminding me of the brand Kiehl’s for example. compared to the other products the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum has not just a simple black and white packaging but has imprinted a holographic illustration of the bottle on the cardboard box. I really love how colorful the packaging is, depending on where the light shines on it. And yet, the packaging design is clean like we are used to from this brand. The vitamin C serum comes in a clear, thick plastic bottle with a dropper…WAIT?! What? A clear bottle for a vitamin C serum?! But we know that vitamin C oxidizes with sunlight exposure. This is the reason while a serum like C20 is packed in a brown glass bottle! A closer look at the bottle reveals the sentence: “Hybrid Stabilization Technology”. It seems the ascorbic acid used in this serum is stabilized and thus not so prone towards oxidization according to Klairs. I know that ways to stabilize vitamin C are ferulic acid or vitamin E. Both of these are not included in the ingredient list as far as I can tell. Another way to have stabilized vitamin C is to use derivates. I see that the ingredient list contains also Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, which is a stable and water-soluble derivate of ascorbic acid. Nevertheless, I still do not know how they manage to stabilize the ascorbic acid listed as the third ingredient in the list. The product description it is stated that you should keep the product cool, dry and avoid its exposure to sunlight.…okay, why don’t they just make the bottle darker then?! Maybe because of the content of only 5% of vitamin C the effect of whether vitamin C is still stable or already oxidized is too small to feel the difference? I don’t know to be honest. I would recommend you store it in a dark place or simply inside the cardboard box anyways…

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop

Compared to 20 % vitamin C which you can find in OST C20 Vitamin C serum 5 % sounds like nothing. So what is the advantage of using a higher dose of vitamin C in your serum? Vitamin C is an antioxidant and thus can prevent our skin from aging too early and from sun-damage. A high concentration of Vitamin C doesn’t mean automatically that it is more effective concerning anti-aging. Normally, a high concentration of Vitamin C aims at a visible effect, because it tends to operate as a chemical peeling by loosening dead and old cells. This is not a bad effect and stimulates the skin to regenerate itself, but keep in mind that it won’t affect the inner cell layers of your skin which have to be aimed if you really want an anti-aging effect. I know that for many the C20 Vitamin C serum with its high concentration is to harsh on the skin. With 5 % vitamin C serum you won’t have any problems with using it on sensitive skin, but you also won’t have the effect of regenerating skin. The benefit of the Klairs lies much more in the combination of all the ingredients together. You can check out the ingredients on COSDNA. The second key ingredient of Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop is that vitamin C is paired with Centella Asiatica extract. Centella Asiatica extract has various benefits since it has anti-bacterial, smoothing and soothing properties. Triterpenes are one of the key compounds within the Centella Asiatica extract. They stimulate the synthesis of collagen and fibronectin with the skin cells. One of the subgroups of the triterpenes (madesaddoside) has shown positive effects on wrinkles and sun-damaged skin in combination with vitamin C. Apart from these two key ingredients you will find a bunch of other plant extracts with different moisturizing and anti-bacterial properties, which round up the formula of this serum.

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop

The included dropper makes it easy to use the product. The serum has a clear color and is slightly runnier than oil. Unlike the C20 serums, this vitamin C serum doesn’t feel like water either but has a similarity to light oil or ampoule. When you distribute it on your face it has a smooth feeling. Additionally, the serum also has kind of a warming effect on the skin. I was really surprised about the formula, because it really reminded me of facial oil first, but didn’t make the face look greasy. It gives your skin a nice glow though. The scent is a citrus-herbal-lavender scent to me, but it is not overpowering.

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop

Since I didn’t use it for a long time yet, I cannot show you any long-term effects, but even if I could I think you would not see much of a difference because my skin has been in a good condition for quite a while now. I can say for sure that it is much milder than the C20 vitamin C serums, yet, on the other hand, I don’t think that you can call this a pure vitamin C serum because of the low concentration. The main reason why this serum is great and probably efficient for many is the combination of the ingredients and especially the combination of vitamin C with Centella Asiatica extract.

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop

I’m really fond of Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop because of the mild and pleasant formula and the benefits it combines by the combination of the two key ingredients vitamin C and Centella Asiatica. If you have sensitive skin I definitively recommend you this over the C20 serums, but if you are looking for a chemical peeling effect and quick renewing of your skin I still say that the C20 serums are better suited. I’d rather call the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum not a pure Vitamin C serum. It is more a great combination serum of a bunch of great ingredients with nice long-term effects. You could call it a cell-renew serum or something like this, but it is totally worth a try! You can get the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop on Wishtrend for 23.00 US$. Don’t forget to check out the Wishtrend monthly vouchers in order to save some money on your order and get freebies. Graveyard: March and April empties 2015

19. May 2015

Here are my product empties for March and April and a quick impression on each product. I’m a bit late for the post, but hopefully you like it anyways :) As usual, I didn’t include any sample sachets or sheet masks masks, because it is too messy to keep these.

Graveyard: March and April empties 2015

1. Rosemine Floral Remedy Foaming Cleanser. Repurchase? Maybe someday. I have to many cleansers right now.

You can read my review on this foaming cleanser >>here<<. I love the packaging and it had a nice scent. The foam was thick and soft and the cleanser contained rose petals.

2. Happy Bath Rose Essence. Repurchase? I would love to!

This bath and shower cream had the most lingering and nicest rose scent! If you are a lover you will love this…but I remember it was marked quite expensive, sadly.

3. Shib Jang Ceng Chun Ji Heang Hand Cream. Repurchase? Yes, please.

This moisturizing and nourishing hand cream has a long name, but nevertheless it does a great job as hand cream. It contains ginseng extracts, shea butter and olive oil and was not sticky, not greasy and I loved using it!

4. Lush Whoosh Shower Jelly. Repurchase? No.

I like the idea of shower jelly and it was quite fun. Nevertheless, this specific product scent was nbot my favourite, but I could imagine getting other versions of it.

5. Kerastase Elixir Ultime. Repurchase? Maybe.

I received this hair oil trial the last time I was giving my hair a cut. It is a nice and lightweight oil and I could imagine to try it again. Unfortunately, Kerastase products are quite expansive.

6. Boutique Bebe Hair Salon Concentrate Protein. Repurchse? Maybe.

You can read my review >>here<<. I enjoyed using these two hair treatments and I can imagine that I would repurchase them again from time to time.

7. Mise en scène Perfect Repair Treatment Pack. Repurchase? Yes!

This treatment was georgeous. It made the hair super soft and easy to comb after an instant. Although labelled for twice a week use I was using it almost every second day because I loved the effect. I would like to repurchase this again. Although I read in some that they think the scent is old-women scent, but I got used to it and even liked it after all. I still have the Mise en scène Perfect Serum and I’m planning to write a comparative post between a couple of hair oils.

8.Dewytree Real Collagen nutrition serum. Repurchase? Maybe.

There is still an upcoming review for this :D I enjoyed this serum and I love the pump bottle it has and the subtle rose/flower scent.

9. Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream. Repurchase? Maybe.

a hydrating cream which contains hyaluronic acid and is very nice on the skin. You can read my review >>here<<.

10. Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum. Repurchase? Maybe.

Another hydrating product from the Klairs Rich Moist soothing line. I was enjoying all the products, especially in winter. Read my review >>here<<.

11. Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil. Repurchase? Yes! As soon as I’ve finished my other cleansers.

This is the best cleansing oil I have tried so far and I can recommend you to try it! Read my review >>here<<. I love the scent, I love how it cleanses. A great product!

12. Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner. Repurchase? Yes!

Suprisingly, I fell in love with that toner, although I thought it will be my least favourite of the Klairs products. It has a nice pH of 5 and is really a good preparation facial toner. Read my review >>here<<.

13. Hanskin Bio Origin BB creams. Repruchase? Maybe the ampoule BB.

I wrote a comparison review on these two BB creams >>here<<. I liked the ampoule BB better than the other one, but both are descent products.

14. COSRX Natural BHA Skin Returning A-Sol. Repurchase? A good product to have in case of emergency!

I received this selfmade trial version of COSRX Natural BHA Skin Returning A-Sol in a giveaway by Sam Murakami from ColorCrush (check out her blog/videos). Thanks again for the lovely giveaway, dear ♥ I must say I had a positive impression on this product and I would love to try it for a longer time, if I have some more skin troubles (hopefully not). This treatment contains propolis, AHA/BHA and works great on troubled skin. It has an acid pH of 4 and should be used after a pH lowering toner and before your other moisturizing steps (including moisturizing toner/essences/serums/creams/ampoules etc). It is on sale at Wishtrend atm!

15. Yadah Vita-Whitening Aqua Gel and Puregreen Moisturizing Cream. Repurchase? No.

These two sample sized creams were a dissapointment. First: the lids were not closing properly, so I assume that some of the product either leaked out or evaporated/dried up after a while, although I didn’t open it before. Due to this my skin didn’t like the creams. One was to heavy balmtype and the other didn’t absorb either.

16. Tonymoly Eggpore Nose Pack Package. Repurchase? These, or other nosepacks.

I like to use nosepacks occasionally, although they say they are not good. But I love the feeling of seeing some dead skincells and dirt and babyhair pulled of by these kind of patches, although it is quite gross, especially when my bf does use these :D

Graveyard: March and April empties 2015

Do you know any of these and did you try them yourself? What is your opinion on these products I showed above? I’d be happy about your comments ♥

Review: Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

10. February 2015

A while ago Wishtrend send me the Klairs Moisture Rescue Set for reviewing purpose, which contained a skincare routine in form of four products from the brand Klairs. As you might have seen from my previous reviews of this brand I really do like their products and this is why I’m really happy to be able to review these items for you. I devided this post into two parts and they gonna be picture-heavy. Yesterday I posted Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 1 about the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner and the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum. Todays review will be on Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2 and I will talk about the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask and the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

Klairs is a Korean brand sold on Wishtrend. It is eco-friendly, claimimg to produce products which are animal-testing-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free, and articial-color-free. Their products adress people with sensitive skin and people who want to moisturize their skin. I reviewed the Klairs Illuminating Supple BB Cream and the Klairs Gentle Black Cleansing Combo before, which both convinced me in their effects. I was interested in this Rescue Moisture Set especially, because as you know, my skin tends to become drier in winter as it is right now. This set consists with everything you need for a solid skincare routine, starting with toner, serum and moisturizer. The mask sheets on top are a great addition for days you want to treat yourself with extra moisture.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

After the toner and the serum application I talked about yesterday we arrive at the most important step in your skincare routine. At least in my opinion a good daily and nighttime moisturizer is the important step I would never miss. The Klairs Rescue Moisture Kit comes also with a moisturizing cream for your skincare routine, the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream. This cream is available from Wishtrend for quite some time, and in contrast to the former versions, the new version of this moisturizing cream contains more product for the same price. The volume changed from 45 ml to 50 ml, which is nice. The Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream is a rich moisturizing cream for normal and dry skintypes. It is designed to give immediate and long-term hydration for a radiant complexion.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

The cream is targeting people who:

– need a moisturizer for your dry skin.
– want a moisturizer cream that reduce’s the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dry rough skin texture.
– want your skin to deliver a soft and glowing appearance
– want the best face moisturizer that will cure skin peeling and flaking.
– want to relieve the feeling of tight itchy dry skin.
– want a moisturizing that has a creamy texture that absorbs evenly into the skin, leaving the skin feeling smooth to touch.
– need a creamy moisturizer to serve as a better, more hydrating base for makeup.

Typically for Klairs products, the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream comes in a cardboard box made of recycled paper. The box contains a detailled description Korean, but it also mentions some of the points which are important for Klairs products in English, like that the product is alcohol-free, artificial color-free, artificial fragnance-free, paraben-free, no animal testing and respect the enviroment.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

The cream itself comes in a jar made of sturdy brown colored plastic. You can see the product through the jar. The design fits to the other Klairs products and I like its simplicity. Unfortunately, the cream doesn’t come with a spatula. The ingredients are listed on Wishtrend and according to COSDNA this cream doesn’t contain any red flagged ingredients. Most of them are green or yellow flagged. There are some ingredients which can be irritating to some people, so please be sure to check the ingredients if you know that you are sensitive to special ingredients. The cream contains Glycerine and Hyaluronic Acid as main moisturizing ingredients, but also a lot of plant extracts. Moreover it contains yeast derived Beta-Glucan, like the other Klairs products I described in the first part of the Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

The label of the jar contains some shorter description, mostly in Korean. Like the other products it also lists an official webpage and an email address for contacting in case of questions etc. I like this idea especially. It even lists a phone number!

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

Below the lid of the jar you’ll find a plastic cover protecting the product from dirt. The production and expiration date is printed on the bottom of the jar.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

The expiration date is in two years, but th shelf-life for the cream after opening is 12 months. The Klairs Rich Moist soothing cream is a cream type moisturizer. The cream has a rich and creamy structure, but melts easily into the skin once distributed. It has a herbal and refreshing scent and feels cooling upon application. Normally, I don’t like herbal scented product, but I must admit that I do like the scent here, maybe also because the product feels refreshing and cooling on the skin. After the cream absorbs it leaves the skin smooth and gives it a moisturizing glow, but no greasyness. I also would say, that despite the fact that the skin looks more glowy the finish of the cream is on the matte side, maybe a bit silky.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

All together, this cream is my favourite from all the products I tested in this Moisture Rescue Kit. I love the finish of the cream and I love the refreshing effect of it. It provides a good amount of moisture for my dry skin, but it is not too much and can also be combined with a second lighter moisturizer like an emulsion if you need more hydration. Also, makeup application afterwards is no problem, since this cream provides a good canvas for other products, too. The jar retails for 23.99 US$ on Wishtrend and I think that it is a normal price for a lot of Korean moisturizing creams. I would not mind a larger volume nevertheless and a spatula. :D

Blog_Rating_KlairsSoothingCream

So, apart from the regular skincare routine steps, like toner, serum and moisturizer, the Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit also came with a couple of sheet masks from Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask. I reviewed these sheet masks previously >>here<<. I think that this moisturizing sheet mask is a perfect masks for using multiple times a week, maybe some of your prefer even a daily use of hydrating masks and this one is definitively a good choice then.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

Similar to the other products of Klairs, the design is simple and contains a lot of text. Here, all the text is written in English on the front side of the sheet mask sachet. The back side contains the description in Korean, but the ingredients are listed in English. You can also check the ingredients on COSDNA. Similar to the toner and the serum it contains one red flagged ingredient, which is the preservative Methylisothiazolinone. The key ingredient of this mask is hyaluronic acid, which is the second ingredient in the list. Apart from this a couple of plant extracts are also part of the ingredients for this mask. It also shows in some images how to use the mask. This sheet mask is an essence type sheet mask made of 100% cotton. It feels very smooth upon application, is soaked well with the essence without being too dripping. It is a refreshing and hydrating mask and you can boost the effect by putting the sheet mask into the fridge before using it, so it has a cooling effect, too.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2

I think that this mask is a good every-day mask. It fullfils all the expectations you have for a moisturizing mask. The scent is pleasant and not too strong either. It is also affordable and retails for 1.99 US$ on Wishtrend. If you buy 10 masks you’ll even get 3 for free additionally, and if you buy 20 masks you will get 10 for free. So if you are a daily sheet mask user you can even safe some money here.

Blog_Rating_KlairsSheetMask

I hope you liked the two posts about the Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit. I tried to put as much helpful information as possible :) I made a post about the promotions from Wishtrend for February >>here<<. Also, keep in mind their friend-referral program: You can receive a 5 Us$ referral coupon if you use my invitation code 17939205 upon registration and you’ll receive this voucher immediately. Review: Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 1

I devided this post into two parts and they gonna be picture-heavyKlairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 1 will talk about the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner and the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing SerumKlairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 2 will be about the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask and the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 1

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 1

Usually, the first step after cleansing your face is to balance the pH of the skin and helping it to keep moisture by using a toner. This is different from western astringent toners, which tend to be an additional cleansing step here. By giving the skin moisture and an adequate pH it helps other products of your skincare routine to be more effective, too. The Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner claims exactly to have this fuction. It is supposed to be a good start for your facial skincare routine. According to the very throout description from Wishtrend this toner is designed for people who

– need a facial toner that re-hydrates and refreshes skin.
– prefer an alcohol free toner that neutralize skin surface impurities such as excess sebum.
– want a gentle yet effective toner for everyday use.
– have sensitive skin and need products that are free from chemicals and harsh ingredients.

It sounds like a good toner for almost everybody according to the description. The packaging of this toner fits perfectly to all the other products from the Klairs range. It is a simple and yet vintage-like design, focussing on few decorations but a lot of text on the packaging. If you have several Klairs products together they look quite pretty together in the bathroom. The Klairs Supple Facial Prepation Toner comes in a hard plastic bottle. The plastic is brown, but you can see through it in order to check the amount remaining in the bottle.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 1

The labels contain a clear description in Korean and English. The ingredients are also listed in English. You can also find the ingredients in the product description on Wishtrend. The ingredients can also be checked via COSDNA. Mostly they are green flagged, but there is also one red flagged preservative included (but in  a small quantity, as it is almost the last ingredient on the list). Apart from this it contains a couple of plant extracts and hyaluronic acid as moisturizing ingredient. Moreover the key ingredients are phyto-oligo and Betaglucan for antiinflammatory effects. The pH of the toner has a weak acidity and lies at 5.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 1

The bottle has a regular drop dispensing opening which is closed by a white plastic lid. Although the bottle is of hard plastic you can lightly press it and make the toner come out more easily. The toner itself is transparent and a bit less runny than water. It feels thicker than water, too, but I wouldn’t call it geltype, yet. It feels refreshing on the skin and has a light scent which is a mixture between herbal and flowery scent. After it absorbs the scent is not noticeable anymore. Also, it doesn’t leave stickyness or greasyness on your skin.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 1

All in all, I like this toner. The pH it provides is perfect for other products to be effective. It feels also quite moisturizing, refreshing and isn’t sticky or greasy. I would say it is a perfect toner for everyday use. What I don’t like about the toner is the higher price compared to other toners. The 150 ml bottle retails for 21.99 US$ on Wishtrend. It still lasts for quite some time I have to admit though (I’m using it for almost three weeks and I’ve only used 1/5ths of the amount). The opening is easy to use. I directly applied it on my hands, but you can also use it with a cotton pad. Alöl in all, I’m totally happy about having this toner in my skincare routine at the moment!

Blog_Rating_KlairsSupplePrepToner

The next step in my skincare routine using the Klairs Moisture Rescue set is the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum, a serum designed to boost the moisture level of your skin and give your skin a healthy and moisturized glow. This serum is designed for people who

– have sensitive skin that needs a calming, soothing serum lotion for sensitive skin.
– have dry, dehydrated skin that needs deep long-lasting moisturize.
– want to smooth and reduce redness and irritation on your skin.
– want to cure your skin constant flaking and peeling.
– want to smooth out fine dehydration lines.
– want to prevent the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

We have here a very basic serum focusing on moisturizing properties, perfect for dry skintypes. On the other hand this serum is designed to have soothing properties, too, so people with irritated skin are addressed aswell. Also here the design fits to all the Klairs products, having a lot of text on their packaging instead of cute or colorful illustration.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 1

The serum is delivered in a cardboard box, unlike the serum, which was only packed in plastic. The cardboard box made of recycled paper contains  descriptions in Korean and English. You can also find a detailled description on Wishtrend.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 1

The serum comes in a pump-type bottle made from brown see-through plastic. The pump comes with a protective cap, too. The serum is clear and more of a gel-type consistency than the toner. It has the same scent as the toner, which is a mix between herbal and flowery scents. The ingredients are listed on COSDNA and a lot of vegetable plant ingredients are part of it. also Hyaloronic Acid is the second ingredient in the list, providing moisture. Phyto-Oligo is also listed as main ingredients here. The lists also contains two red-flagged ingredients which are Triethanol amine and the same preservative used in the toner called Methylchloroisothiazolinone. If you know that you react to those two ingredients I would advice you to not use these two products or be careful and make a skin reaction test before. I didn’t have any negative reactions on my skin while using any of the products from the Klairs range yet. After using the serum on the skin it feels almost creamy rubbing it into the skin. It feels moist and hydrating, but it also leaves the skin noticably softer. Also here I didn’t experience any stickiness after it fully absorbed into the skin.

Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit Part 1

Also for the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum I can say that I was positively surprised how I liked the serum. The feeling of it on the skin was nice and also the point that it wasn’t sticky. This made the application of other products afterwards and of any makeup much easier. I also do like the pump -type bottle. What I don’t like is the small amount of only 50 ml. I used up more than 1/3rd of the bottle already within the three weeks of use. The price on the other hand is relatively normal for a serum. The bottle retails for 22.99 US$ on Wishtrend. The serum is available with free shipping right now!

Blog_Rating_KairsRichMoistSerum

Both these products are nice products. If I had to choose which one I would by myself from the two mentioned I would choose the toner propably, but only in order to buy a serum with other properties, like anti-aging, etc. I also made a post about the promotions from Wishtrend for February >>here<<. Also, keep in mind their friend-referral program: You can receive a 5 Us$ referral coupon if you use my invitation code 17939205 upon registration and you’ll receive this voucher immediately. Review: Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil and Sugar Facial Polish

23. November 2014

I never really included cleansing oils into my skincare routine, although I knew it would be better for my dry skin. But somehow all the samples of cleansing oils I tried felt somehow unconvenient to me or I disliked the scent of the oil in it, so I stayed with my foam cleansers. Now, I had the chance to try Klairs Gentle Black Cleansing Combination from Wishtrend, consisting of the Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil and the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish. Both products can be used on their own, but combining them is an additional possibility which especially people who love scrubs but have sensitive skin will like. Keep on reading for my impression on these two products :)

Klairs Gentle Black

Klairs is a Korean brand sold on Wishtrend. It is eco-friendly, claimimg to produce products which are animal-testing-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free, and articial-color-free. Their products adress people with sensitive skin and people who want to moisturize their skin. I reviewed the Klairs Illuminating Supple BB Cream and the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask before, which both convinced me in their effects. My expectations for these two products from the Klairs Gentle Black line were accordingly high. Moreover, I used and enjoyed Skinfood’s Black Sugar line, so the standards were set even higher. I will start with the Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil, since it was the product I was especially curious about:

Klairs Gentle Black

The design of all products from Klairs is similar andkind of simple and vintage on the same time. It reminds of cosmetic products from earlier centuries and looks quite neat. The cleansing oil comes in a pump bottle of brown see-through plastic. The dispenser is made from plastic, too. It looks sturdy and not easy to break. The bottle contains 150 ml and has English and Korean descriptions on the label. The Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil claims to be a “supple and lightweight cleansing oil”, which cleans skin in a gentle manner and is moisturizing, too. The main ingredients are Black Currant Seed Oil, Soybean Oil, Sesame Seed Oil and Jojoba Oil. The Soybean Oil controls the sebum production, increases the skin elasticity and provides a soothing effect. The Black Currant Seed Oil strengthens the skins protective layer to prevent the evaporation of moisture from the skin. It promotes skin cell regeneration and provides antioxidant effects by containing various minerals. Lastly, Sesame Oil prevents dehydration and skin aging while providing powerful antioxidant effects through various useful components such as Beta-carotene, Rinolenic acid, Sesamin, Sesaminol and Tocopherol.

Klairs Gentle Black

On Wishtrend you will find a detailled product description and also the full ingredients list. You can also check the ingredients on COSDNA >>here<<. Almost all ingredients are green flagged. There is one red flagged ingredient called PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, which is a solubulizer and surfactant, which is only a problem if in a high concentration and may lead to irritation of sensitive skin. I personally didn’t have any skin irritations caused by this ingreident, but if you know that you react to it, then you should test the oil previously. The expiration date is printed on the bottle, too. Since the product contains oil, the oil might get rancid if you keep it too long.

Klairs Gentle Black

The Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil is a clear and runny product with a very nice herbal scent which reminds me of sweetened black tea. I super love the scent! ♥ I even prefer this to the citrus scent which the Skinfood Black Sugar line has. I usually use around 2 pumps for cleansing my face with this cleanser. First, I’m using dry hands and massage it into my skin. Then I use wet hands and continue massaging it. The clear oil becomes milky in this way. After rinsing the oil away my skin looks clear and refreshed and the greatest part is, that it feels like freshly moisturized without being greasy! I’m super amazed!

Klairs Gentle Black

I used my arm for a makeup removal test, using different lip products, eyeliners, mascara, bb cream and foundation. After using the cleansing oil all the make up was removed. The mascara took a bit more of masaging then the other products, but this is quite normal and usually I use eye makeup remover for it anyways. The other products melted away almost instantly. By the way, the glowing skin you see on the right is caused because my arm is still wet, it is no greasisness caused by the oil cleanser. As I said, the skin doesn’t feel greasy at all, but feels super moist afterwards. The Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil convinced me absolutely! So what about the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish?

Klairs Gentle Black

This facial polish comes in a small jar, and if you know the Skinfood Black Sugar Scrub Pack you will first be a bit dissapointed because it looks much smaller. Actually this polish has only 60 g of product in the jar, whereas the Skinfood Black sugar Scrub contains 100 g. In contrast to the scrub from Skinfood you don’t need to leave it on your skin like a pact. It is a scrub in first place. The design of the jar is similar to the cleansing oil and the jar is made of the same see-through brown colored plastic with a lack srewing cap. It seems quite sturdy, too. The description is also written in English and in Korean, but you can also find a detailled description on Wishtrend.

Klairs Gentle Black

You can look up the ingredients on COSDNA >>here<<. again, all the ingredients are safe, except of the PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate. So again, if you react sensitively to this ingredient, you might want to test this somewhere else than your face first. It also contains Cetyl Alcohol, so if you know you are sensitive to this, be aware. Both the manufacture date and the expiration date are printed on the bottom of the jar. If you remove the lid, you’ll find a plastic separator between the lid and the product. Unfortunately, no spatula is included. So use either clean fingers or a spatula or spoon if you have one. The Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facila Polish is a brown, grainy paste. It has not a completelly solid consistence, but is quite buttery. The Skinfood Black Sugar Scrub is much more solid than this one. The scent of this facial polish is more herbal than the cleansing oil, but it is still nice. The polish can be spreaded easily, too, and contains tiny sugar particles for exfoliating your skin mechanically. It can be used either mixed with water, or for a more gentle exfoliation with the Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil. Below, you’ll see how the consistency of the polish changes when mixed with the cleansing oil.

Klairs Gentle Black

When used together with the Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil the polish glides super smoothly over the skin and doesn’t feel irritating at all. I also used it on its own, but the idea of mixing it with the cleansing oil is so great, that I started using it always together with the oil. The skin feels so super soft afterwards. Especially , since it is winter here now, I don’t have any flaky or dry skin after using these two products in combination.

Klairs Gentle Black

I can super recommend these two products. Although I had high expectations for this product line, the Klairs Gentle Black products could make me happy. I enjoy using these two a lot. The cleanser is used know daily and I mix the scrub with it everey second or third day. My skin feels super soft and I’m prepared for the colder weather now :D You can get both products from Wishtrend and the cleansing oil is available with free international shipping at the moment. I also made a post about the promotions they offer for November >>here<< (You can get free silk finger balls ;)). Also, keep in mind their friend-referral program: You can receive a 5 Us$ referral coupon if you use my invitation code 17939205 upon registration and you’ll receive this voucher immediately. This way new customers can safe 5 US$ which is a great possibility to safe some money. From 24th of November until end of the month Wishtrend will also have some Black Friday discounts, so keep an eye out for any special deals.

Review: Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask

17. August 2014

As you might have read in my post about Wishtrend’s latest promotions, they do offer Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask as special gift in this month. I’ve tried this moisturising sheet mask myself and here is my impression on how it works on my skin.

Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask

Klairs is a Korean brand sold on Wishtrend. It is eco-friendly, claimimg to produce products which are animal-testing-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free, and articial-color-free. Their products adress people with sensitive skin and people who want to moisturize their skin. I reviewed the Klairs Illuminating Supple BB cream, which is one of my favourite BB creams so far, apart from Missha’s Perfect Cover BB cream.

Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask

It seems that Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask is very popular if you are looking for a moisturizing sheet mask. Its description says, that it contains half a bottle of essence, which sounds really amazing. The sheet mask is produced from 100% cotton, too, and it feels really soft. It is not separated through any additional plastic or paper in order to make it easier to unfold, but since this produces less waste, it is probably part of being eco-friendly. The ingredients list can be found on Wishtrend and also their description is very detailled as usual. The ingredients are mostly green flagged and there is only one preservative included (see at COSDNA). The ingredients list contains fragnance, but you barely smell any scent. It also contains fermented fruit juice. The front of the packaging is written in English, the back side contains Korean description. The packaging design is clean and reminds a bit of Kiehl’s cosmetics. The mask is soaked very well with the essence, but it doesn’t drip at all. Your skin feels very nicely moisturized and refreshed after using and it also absorbs into the skin after a time. I even could use makeup on top, which is not possible with some other masks. This mask is very recommendable for everybody looking for a moisturizing and mild sheet mask for every day. It isn’t too heavy or to strong and people with sensitive skin will probably like it, too. If you put it into the fridge before using it, it will give you an extra cooling boost. This sheet masks costs 1.99 US$ and is available at Wishtrend. You can also get it in larger amounts and you’ll receive extra free masks then. For example, if you buy 10 masks you get 3 extra sheet masks, or if you buy 20 you even get 10 additional free sheet masks…I think these are great deals if you are a sheet mask user on a regular basis. Also, have a look at my post about the August promotions from Wishtrend. I’ll explain how you can get a 5 US$ coupon upon registration, how you can get a 10% discount coupon and most improtant, how you’ll receive one free Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask with your order! You can find all the coupon codes >>here<<.

Review: Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream

29. April 2014
I’m back with a BB cream review ^_^ Yeeiii! This time it is about Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream, which was kindly send to me for reviewing purpose by Wishtrend. This BB cream is a all-in-one product, combining sunscreen, primer, foundation, and finishing powder…Sounds amazing! Moreover, the Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream allows to create a very natural look, and yet gives a good coverage. Let’s see what my thought are on this product:

The Korean brand Klairs is an eco-friendly cosmetic brand. Their products are not tested on animals, don’t contain parabens, alcohol or artificial coloring. All their products have a simple, but vintage kind of design which I personally love. The Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream comes therefore in a sleek tube. The colors are restricted to black and cream-colored. I especially love the words written below the product’s name saying “You look so wonderful just the way you are”. Who doesn’t want to start the day reading these words in front of the mirror while still halfway asleep?!:D
It has SPF 40 PA++ by using ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, isoamyl p-methoxycinnamate, titanium dioxide, Bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine and zinc oxide within the ingredients, which makes it great for daily use. It also contains Hyaluronic Acid and Aloe extracts for providing moisture. According to COSDNA the ingredients are not harmful (click >>here<<). One preservative (Methylisothiazolinone) is mentioned to potentially cause allergic reactions, which wasn’t the case while I used the product. The ingredients list and descripton are written on the cardboardbox in Korean and English as well.
  Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream
The 40 ml soft plastic tube has a plastic cap which is easily to unlock and lock again. The application is not complicated in any ways. Although, sometimes I prefer a pump instead of a normal tube. Nevertheless, the cream is neither to fluid, nor to solid, which makes it easy to get out the perfect amount of BB cream needed for your face. I’ve been using this BB cream for a long time now and I’m pleased to say, that I didn’t react to it in any negative way.
The description says that this BB cream is suitable for all skin types, so I did the simple  “BBcream on blotting paper” test in order to see how oily the product is. I don’t think that this test is representative on how good it will work on your skin, but it could give you an idea, if you do the same test of your favourite BB cream and compare the oily circle around the BB cream droplet. As you can see, it definitively shows up some oiliness around, but I’ve seen worse BB creams after 4 hours. This one is still “okay” in my eyes, so it might also be suited for oily skintypes. According to the description the Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream contains sebum controll powder, which will help to keep the facial oil production at bay.
How does the BB cream perform on skin finally? As I said, I’ve tried this BB cream for a while now and I love the finish. Below you can see the cream on my hand. On the bottom right side of the image you see how it looks blended in. I would say that it blends in perfectly! Yet, it does give the skin some kind of illumination. The color looks very natural and the BB cream doesn’t look like being a heavy or thick layer.

It looks super natural on my skin and blends in perfectly with my natural skin color. It doesn’t have high coverage, but it gives your skin an airbrushed look. It reduces the appearance of redness (take a closer look at the skin around my nose and cheek. The differences might be small/not visible when you just take a quick look from afar, but I can ensure you that my skin looks perfect to go outside while only using this. It also has a semipowdery finish, doesn’t feel sticky and leaves the skin soft and smooth. It doesn’t make my (dry) skin look greasy at all, although it has a subtle glow…also, it did not flake around my nose the whole day, which I experience very rarely.
So far the Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream is my BB cream to go! It contains sunprotection, perfect for daily wear, gives you a natural look with an airbrushed effect and simply looks very nice on the skin. I can recommend you to try this product! I think it will convince you. If you are looking for coverage as main point, I wouldn’t go for this BB cream, though! Nevertheless, when paired up with the new Klairs Creamy & Natural Fit Concealer it might be also a nice daily BB cream for people with more troubled skin, looking for a light finish. You can get Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream from Wishtrend. If you use my invitation code 17939205 upon registration or use my invitation link >>here<< you’ll receive a 5 US$ voucher immediately. It retails normally at 24.99 US$  on Wishtrend and contains 40 ml. And you’ll find a more detailed product description on their web page, too.
