Review: Missha The Style Tinted Jelly Lips

// KBEAUTY / MAKE UP / AFFILIATe LINKS //

As soon as I knew that Missha had a German online shop I had to order some items, just to know how it feels not to wait 2 weeks or more for something you’ve ordered. I must say, it was awesome :D One of the products I bought is this Missha The Style Tinted Jelly Lips in “Sunny Coral”.

Missha The Style Tinted Jelly Lips

Missha is one of the worldwide famous Korean brands, especially their Missha M Perfect Cover BB cream is one of the most famous BB creams. They have a lot of online stores all over the world and are available in US/Canada, Australia and recently they even opened up an online store for Germany.  The products always come in a very luxurious looking packaging. Also here, the cardboard box is made of reflecting material. The design is very mature and elegant and I think that it can be liked by almost everyone. The packaging of Missha’s The Style Tinted Jelly Lips is also in a different color for each of the five colors available.

Apart from “Sunny Coral”, which I will review here, you can select between the shades “Pure Red”, “Swan Pink”, “Happy Pink” and “Fresh Mango”. The back side of the card box packaging contains the description of the product in English and Korean. This product is usable for 18 months after opening it.

The tint does contain beneficial ingredients like Shea Butter, Cupuacu Butter and Mango Extract. It is talc-free, mineral oil free, wax-free and phthalate-free, and does not contain ingredients derived from animals.  The tint itself comes in a soft plastic tube with a hard plastic cap. You have to twist the cap in order to open it, which makes it travel friendly, because it doesn’t accidentally get open in your purse (which occurred to me quite  often with other lip products :’D).

The applicator was new and unique to me. It is a brush with is hole in the middle. The product is squeezed out through that hole and dispenses itself on the brush. The brush itself is easy to use and allows to line your lips precisely. At the beginning it was hard to know how much product I had to squeeze out, but after a couple of times I got used to it and now I know how much pressure I need for preventing a mess :D

Missha The Style Tinted Jelly Lips

The tint itself is a jelly/glossy type of tint. It feels more like a gloss compared to other jelly type tints, like for example Witch’s Pouch Radiant Lolli Tint. The color is a nice and bright orange/coral color which is visible on nude skin tone/lips. You’ll also see below how it looks on my lips, which are more pigmented. The color isn’t visible so nicely anymore, but leaves a coral hue to the lips. It also makes the lips look a bit more plum. The feeling of the tint is very moisturizing. It doesn’t dry the lips out. But, since it is more a glossy type of product, it also feels a bit sticky. The staying power is on the shorter side, let’s say around two hours. The scent of the tint is fruity, but it has no taste.

Missha The Style Tinted Jelly Lips

Except of the fact that the color is only weak on my pigmented lips, I really like this product, especially the applicator was new for me. If you like lipgloss, you’ll like this one as well. I would like to try the darker colors of this range, perhaps they show off better on my lips. You can either buy this on Missha’s online shops. It is on sale for 8 US$ on the US Missha online store, or for 6.90 € on the German Missha online store. As much as I loved to order from a store located in Germany because of the fast delivery, the downside is, that they don’t give samples… Other than this you can get this tint at other korean cosmetics retaillers, like this from W2Bauty for 11.76 US$.

The packaging looks really nice and chic! I honestly was expecting a more orangey result on your lip but since they’re really pigmented it’s okay I guess hehe>.< I honestly don't like lipglosses that much because I always have this sticky feeling and I don't like the finish haha~ But thanks for this review ^-^

Same for me, I’m more a liptint/lipstick lover than lipgloss :D I thought it would be more orange, too…but it has a nice hue nevertheless. The brush is really nice though :)

Yes, I agree. I didn’t see an applicator like this before !

The color looks really nice on you! I’ve never seen an applicator like that before either for a lip product, it’s definitely interesting. I really don’t like even slightly sticky lip glosses though so I think I’ll pass on this one >__< Thanks for the review Fraulein~ ^^

I didn’t see such an applicator befor either, it is really unique…but about the stickiness I agree, that’s why I normally buy only liptints and lipsticks :D

I used to use a bonnie bell lip product with the same applicator when I was young! From what I remember it was more time consuming to put on. Anyway your lips look so deliciously glossy :D. Thank you for your awesome reviews!

Thanks dear ♥ I didn’t have the feeling that it was more time consuming..only the first time, because I didn’t know what to expect from the brush, haha…Nevertheless, it is really a special applicator

Ohh I think the colour looks great on you! I haven’t bought glosses in a while. I’ve taken a liking to lip sticks instead, but missha is one of the brands I want to try. I have a few other products from them, but I haven’t tried any of the lip products.
Sticky glosses aren’t really my thing either. But it’s a little difficult to not find a non sticky lip gloss isn’t it?
I likely won’t purchase this in the end, but I do want to try their lipsticks! Great review!

I agree, normally lipglosses are sticky, although some claim to have a not sticky formula…I never tried any lipsticks from Missha, but I would love to. Normally, I buy lipsticks and liptints and I pass glosses normally, too. Thanks for reading and commenting, Joann ♥
