Okay, I admit at that point that I LOVE the Kicho Sheep Oil Cream I reviewed previously and since then I’ve wanted to lay my hand on this Kicho Camellia Sleeping Pack. Can you imagine how I freaked out when I saw that I would receive the sleeping pack from BNTnews for reviewing purpose?! Oh yes, that big smile on my face the whole day! Expectations were high so let’s see if the sleeping pack hold up to them:
Kicho cosmetics is a Korean brand and has the saying “We provide pure nature greatness to your skin”. I read so many reviews on their products, especially about the sheep oil cream, and I was not dissapointed. First of all, I love the design of the packaging of the Kicho products. It was already unbelieveably pretty for the cream and here we go again with this breathtaking packaging design! It looks elegant and feminine on the same time with a beautiful flower printing. The cardboard box looks like a present and it is not only pretty from the outside, but even inside the box the beauty continues:
Inside you will find the tube of the sleeping pack and a brush. The tube has the same flower illustration as the cardboard box, and all of these flowers are combined with golden colors which makes everything even prettier. Inside the lid you will find the product description, which is written in Korean and at least with English ingredients list. The Kicho Camellia Sleeping Pack is an overnight mask containing Lanolin (“sheep oil”), rose water, fermented black ginseng extract and Camellia Japonica oil (1000mg) as main ingredients. It is also worth to mention that the sleeping pack contains Shea Butter and Hyaluronic Acid, and thus seems to be a great moisturizer already from the ingredients. You can check the full ingredients via COSDNA: Most of the ingredients are green labelled but there are a few potential irritants, too, but nothing really worth to mention.
Water, Glycerin, Lanolin Oil, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Dimenthicone, Petrolatum, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Sodium Hyaluronate, Camellia Japonica Seed OIl (1,000mg), Dimenthicone/Vinyl Dimenthicone Crosspolymer, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Sorbitan Stearate, Panaz Ginseng Root Extract, Zea Mays (Corn) Kernel Extract, Rosa Centifolia Flower Water, Ammonium Acryloyldimethylataurate/VP Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolyer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Allantoin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panthenol, Totarol, Decylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Parfum, Disodium EDTA, Magnolia Kobus Bark Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Propolis Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower/Leaf Extract, Thujopsis Dolabrata Branch Extract, BHT, CI 19140, CI 15985, CI 16185, CI 42090.
I want to let you know some more about Lanolin at this point, which is a superb ingredient for dry skintypes:
Lanolin
Lanolin is also called wool wax and is produced by the sebaceous glands of sheep to protect their wool from getting wet and protects the sheep from climate and weather. Actually, it is obtained by cleaning the obtained freshly shorn wool from sheep, so you do not need to fear that animals are harmed for obtaining lanolin and the name sheep oil is a bit misleading here because one thinks of horse oil directly. Also, as you might have thought first, Lanolin is not a new fancy ingredient but has been used for more than hundred years and cosmetics and pharmaceutical products. Also, thinking of Lanolin as fat is also not correct, because it lacks glycerides, but contains of sterol esters instead. By hydrolizing lanolin you will obtain lanolin alcohols, which are rich in cholesterol, and lanolin acids. 40 % of the lanolin acids are AHA’s (alpha hydroxy acids)! Also, studies have shown that Lanolin has chemical and physical similarities to human stratum corneum (the skin layer you actually see when looking at your skin) lipids. These lipids regulate the hydration state of your skin. So lanolin is great to protect your skin from water-loss and it also is a great skin softener. Also, since it has semiocclusive properties your skin can still breath. And on top of that the healing properties of lanolin are great and it helps to recover rough and dry, itching and cracking skin better than glycerin or petroleum. Nevertheless, it still might be that you react allergic to lanolin, so be sure to patch test products before using them.
The Kicho Camelia Sleeping Pack is an overnight mask that has to be applied before going to bed. In the next morning you wash your face with lukewarm water and will be able to see the results. The Kicho Camelia Sleeping Pack comes in a large tube containing 100 ml. This is quite a size and I guess it will last for a long time, until it is used up. If the product comes in a value set like here, it comes together with a brush to apply the pack on your face. I’m simply in love with the design of the tube already *_*
The brush is very soft and has the perfect size to use it for covering your face. I love the golden handle of the brush and how it seems to be a good quality brush. It makes it easy to apply a thin layer on the face, and since the bristles are so soft they won’t irritate your skin.
The sleeping pack itself is a thick yellow-ish colored cream with a flowery, rosy scent. It spreads nicely and builds a moist and glowy layer on the skin leaving the skin nourished. You will feel almost nothing of the cream because it is super light, despite containing so many nourishing ingredients.
The Kicho Camellia Sleeping Pack is designed to moistzurize, sooth and protect the skin from toxins. After applying it on my skin I discovered that my skin looked calm and smooth the next morning. What I love especially is, that the texture is not sticky. So it is super comfortable to sleep with. Also, it is surprising that a thin layer already does a super great job. It seems even though using a small amount there are plenty of nutrients inside this pack.
I’m SO happy that the Kicho Camelia Sleeping Pack is exactly how I imagined it to be: moisturizing, calming, nourishing…with a luxurious scent and beautiful packaging! Definitely recommend you to give it a try! You can get it as value pack like here, together with a brush, or only the pack. It retails for 53 US$ or 35 US$, respectively from the official Kicho web page. But it is also available on amazon here (it is also the official store from Kicho). Did you try any products from Kicho already? Do you use Lanolin containing skincare products?

The package and label design are superb... the fact the box contains a brush makes this Kicho sleeping pack a luxurious feeling! I've just tried one sleeping pack from Garnier but I had a bad reaction, plus I can't stand for the whole night a scented face cream.
Hi! This product looks very intriguing to me and l've alredy have it in my wish list. But the manufactur promises about no mineral oil or only natural preservatives are below any critics. Don't you see yourself? Petrolatum which is mineral oil is very close to beginning of ingredient list, and BHT which is quite harsh preservative in the end. I know they make good cosmetic products but why they should lie about ingredients?
Sorry, I see that this was my fault!!! It was still a part of the Kicho Sheep Oil Cream, which does not contain any Petrolatum and BHT. I forgot to delete that part when I copy/pasted the description about Lanolin. Thank you for being such a careful reader!:)
oh gott wie schön ist diese verpackung einfach? ich glaube ich würde es allein für die verpackung schon kaufen :D
