Review: Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner (Unscented Version)

21. May 2018

// KBEAUTY / SKINCARE / PR SAMPLE //

There are two Korean Toners that I absolutely love and recommend every time someone asks me: one is the Whamisa Organic Flowers Deep Rich Toner, and the other one is the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner! Even more was I excited the moment that Klairs announced that their toner will now be available in an unscented version, too. So, this is for everyone with sensitive skin who has been waiting for a version without essential oils, the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner Unscented Version:

Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner

Klairs is a Korean brand which is eco-friendly, producing products which are animal-testing-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free, artificial-color-free and recently they are vegan, too. Their products address people with sensitive skin and people who want to moisturize their skin. I reviewed some of their products before, like the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum (repurchased that one 4 times already!) or the Klairs Midnight Blue Cream, which both convinced me in their effects. Their saying “Simple but Enough” really nails it and I think that many people will agree in that point with me.

Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner

The Klairs Supple Preparation Toner is your first step to a moisturized and rejuvenated skin every day. It is non-irritant, balances the pH level of the skin, and acts calming and soothing. As all toners, this toner is designed to be used directly after cleansing the skin. It gives it first hydration and helps the skin to be prepared for the following skincare steps. The Klairs Supple Preparation Toner in both the regular version, and the unscented version, comes in a plastic bottle containing 180ml. The bottle is supposed to last for 1-2 month according to the description.

Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner

The only difference between the regular version and the unscented version is that the unscented version has all the essential oils removed from the ingredients. These essential oils give the regular version its signature scent, but there are people with sensitive skin types that react to the present of essential oils in skincare. The colors of the bottles and packaging are also different: the unscented version has a clear bottle with a purple label whereas the regular version comes in a brown colored bottle with beige label.

Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner

Here are the ingredients of the toner:

Water, Butylene Glycol, Dimethyl Sulfone, Betaine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Natto Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium EDTA, Centella Asiatica Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Polyquaternium-51, Chlorphenesin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carbomer, Panthenol, Arginine, Luffa Cylindrica Fruit/Leaf/Stem Extract, Beta-Glucan, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Portulaca, Oleracea Extract, Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Copper Tripeptide-1

You can spot some known plant-based ingredients like licorice root extract (brightening and acne fighting), centella asiatica and panthenol (wound-healing), but also hyaluronic acid (moisture), and aloe extract (soothing). You can check the ingredients via Skincarisma

Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner

The toner has a clear toner and has a jelly like formula, which is less runny than water. It tends to absorb very quickly and leaves the impression of the skin ‘drinking’ the product.

Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner

Despite absorbing quickly it leaves a nice and moist glow on the skin, but is not feeling sticky!

Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner

I can still confirm that I love the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner and I love how this unscented version of it also gives sensitive skintype people a chance to try this wonderful product by leaving out the essential oils. If you have not tried this toner yet I can totally recommend you to do so in future, especially if you are a Kbeauty lover. You can buy the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner in the regular and unscented version from Wishtrend for 21.99 US$. Also check out my page for Coupons and Discount, so safe some bucks o your order. I also have reviewed so many other products from the brand Klairs and I can say that this is one of my favourite Kbeauty brands with great products. Check out all my Klairs reviews >>here<<.

Review: Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks

10. May 2018

// PR SAMPLE / SKINCARE / KBEAUTY //

Do you know the Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks already? I have mentioned a couple of times that I really love using bio cellulose masks lately. I have tried them from a couple of brands, like Leaders or Moonlab, and everytime I’m very happy with the texture and feeling on the skin. Here is my review for the ones from Bliv:

Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks

Bliv or b.liv as it is written is a kbeauty brand that appears occasionally in my feed on Instagram. I never tried any of their products before, but their saying is “healthy pores, healthy skin, when you believe (b.liv), you shine with confidence” and you can check out their web page and their products on www.bliv.de. By the way, the name is pronounced as “believe” and was founded in 2009 derived from a cosmaceutical brand. According to their page they are the leading brand for pores management solution.

Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks

The masks that I kindly received from Bliv for reviewing purpose came in a cute yellow box. I received the Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks Hydrate Away, Age Eraser, and Soothe Me Now.

Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks

The packaging design of the masks is modern and a mix of geometric patterns and a specific color of the fonts for each type of mask.

Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks

Bliv Hydrate Away Moisturizing Bio Cellulose Mask

This mask is designed for moisturizing, revitalizing and hydrating made with key ingredients like organic algae, rice extract, and hyaluronic acid. Algae extract is laden with minerals and amino acids and helps to even out skin tone, clarify and repair the skin. In addition, it also helps to protect the skin from free radical damage. Rice extract is rich in amino acids and pro-vitamin b5 and has the property to keep hold of water molecules. Thereby, it contributes to the moisturization of the skin.Hyaluronic acid is a lubricate and keeps skin layers full of moisture It holds water and therby keeps collagen hydrated and promotes a youthful look.

Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Algin, Chlorphenesin, Olea Europeae Fruit Oil, Mannitol, Spirulina Platensis Extract, o-Cymen-5-Ol, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Leuconostoc/ Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Superoxide Dismutase, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15

Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks

Bliv Soothe Me Now Soothing Bio Cellulose Mask

This mask is designed for soothing, repair and rejuvenating the skin using key ingredients like organic immortelle flower, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15 (also called soothing peptide), and hyaluronic acid. Immortelle flower is a mediterranean plant that has remarkable longevity. It is known to be more soothing than chamomile, and more regenerating than lavender. Acetyl tetrapeptide-15 is a peptide that helps to increase the skin’s sensitivity tolerance threshold and effectively reduces the sensation of discomfort.

Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Algin, Oryza Sativa Extract, Chlorphenesin, Olea Europeae Fruit Oil, Mannitol, Helichrysum Italicum Flower Extract, o-Cymen-5-Ol, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Potassium Sorbate, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15

Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks

Bliv Age Eraser Youth Preserving Bio Cellulose Mask

This mask is designed for youth preserving, firming and reduction of fine lines. Key ingredients in this mask are Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, and hyaluronic acid. Palmitoyl hexapeptide-12 acts like botox, relaxing visible tension lines while relieving stinging sensation and discomfort. Thus it helps minimize the long-term formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 soothes and protects skin against oxidative stress.

Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Algin, Chlorphenesin, Olea Europeae Fruit Oil, Mannitol, o-Cymen-5-Ol, Sodium Citrate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Palitoyl Hexapeptide-12, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15

Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks

The mask sachets are filled with a lot of essence and you will find the folded bio cellulose mask inside. The mask is folded between two layers, but unlike most other masks it is NOT lying between two plastic foils.

Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks

One layer is a tulle fabric, and the second one os a cotton like fabric. It was really a unique experience for me to see that.

Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks

The bio cellulose mask is a specialized nano scale fiber structure with a pattern. It makes it adhere better to the shape of your face and allows to hold more moisture inside, too. Still the skin is supposed to be able to breathe through the bio cellulose layer. As you can see in the pic below the mask is thin and you can see through it. The bio cellulose has the texture of a gel and feels very cooling and refreshing when applied to the skin. It clings perfectly and doesn’t slide around.

Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks

That’s me wearing the Hydrate Me mask below. Hello :)

Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks

All the masks were very moist and hydrating while wearing them for 15-20 minutes. The skin feels more bouncy after wearing them. It is hard to say what the differences were between the single masks with only two masks from each type. According to the studies that are listed on the front of each mask there should be a difference when used for a longer period of 28 days. For the Hydrate Me mask the effects are even noticeable after a couple of hours. Since I don’t have any device to measure the moisture content I couldn’t make any studies for myself.

Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks

All in all, the Bliv Nano Bio Cellulose Masks were very comfortable to wear and they fitted perfectly and stayed on place as I expected from a bio cellulose mask. I loved the rich amount of essence inside each essence. Also, I think it is nice to point out that Bliv has a money-back guarantee. For the masks you can return the product within 14 days with receipt and left over portion. The masks come in boxes containing 4 masks each and they retail for 35 US$, which is a bit pricey in my eyes, but if you buy 2 boxes you will get 50% off, which is a nice offer for someone who wants to try the masks for a longer period of time.

You can get the masks here:

Review Reloaded: Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream & Instagram Giveaway

3. May 2018

// KBEAUTY / GIVEAWAY / MAKEUP //

In honor of my 5ths Blog Anniversary I want to redo my review on the one BB cream that started everything: the Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream!

Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream

Many years ago, I was looking for a BB cream that helps to give some natural coverage and yet was good for troubled skin. While searching the world-wide web I discovered a particular interesting review, and that is when I decided to by my first BB cream from the korean brand Missha. I ordered via ebay and waited eagerly for 2 weeks before I received my travel tube of the Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream. It came in a small cardboard box together with some samples of it and a cute note. Unfortunately, I don’t remember from which seller I bought this particular tube, but I was so wowed that I bought back-ups and up to today this is one of my favourite BB creams!

Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream

After trying some more products from Missha and other KBeauty brands like Liolele, Etude House, and Tonymoly, I discovered that it was not so easy to find reviews on the products. I decided to start a blog to write down my own experience and the first review I did was on this BB cream. It is a short and not very informative review that lacks proper images, but you will still find it somewhere buried here on my blog. Today, I want to re-do the review, and hopefully, this time it will be more informative compared to back then.

Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream

The Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream is probably the most famous product of the Korean brand Missha. Missha has a lot of online stores all over the world and they are available in US/Canada, Australia, and even in Germany. It is the first Korean brand with a physical store in Germany, too! Missha has always been and still is against animal testing. The products usually come in a very mature and luxurious packaging and the design is very elegant and timeless. I think, that it can be liked and appeals to almost everyone!

Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream

The classic Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream comes in signature dark red and golden colors. The tube with 50 ml content comes with a pump applicator, unlike the smaller versions of the BB cream, that come in a regular tube. Usually, one pump is enough for a light and natural makeup for me. The pump is also hygienic and keeps the product from drying out, especially compared to makeup products that come in jars for example.

Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream

The Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream is a multi functional BB cream. It combines skincare and makeup with sun protection. In the past I only used a moisturizer and the BB cream and I was ready to go. It did help my troubled skin so much, and after using it regularly my skin troubles improved and I was more than happy and convinced about asian beauty products.

Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream

The ingredients of the Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream are listed on the cardboard box:

Water(Aqua), Cyclomethicone, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide/Talc/Dimethicone, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Arbutin, Mineral Oil, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Phenyltrimethicone, Disodiium Edta, Adenosine, Caviar Extract, Algae Extract, Rosa Rubiginosa Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Squalane, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Micadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis(Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Fagus Sylvatica Bud Extract, Ceramide 3, Bees Wax (Cera Alba), Cetyl Peg/Ppg-10-1dimethicone, Dimethicone Copolyol, Polyethylene, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride, Iron Oxides (Yellow), Iron Oxides (Red), Iron Oxides (Black), Fragrance, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Salicylate, Hydroxycitronellal, Alpha – Isomethyl Lonone, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Citronellol.

The list is quite long, but you will see that it contains a bunch of plant-based ingredients, like algae extract, caviar extract, jojoba oil…but also hyaluronic acid, collagen, cermides, and adenosin. It also contains sun protection (zinc oxide/titanium dioxid/ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate), which gives it SPF 42 PA+++. It is not free from parabens, mineral oil, or silicones though. You can check all the ingredients on Skincarisma, too.

Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream

The BB cream is available in various shade options, and by now even more shades are available than they were in the past. But for me shade No. 23, natural beige, is the best suited for my skin tone and usually fits during all the year (except for vacations in very hot and sunny countries, but Germany is not that kind of country unfortunately :D).

Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream

The beige colored cream has a dewy finish and medium coverage. It appears a bit grey-ish at first, but once blended in it will gradually adapt to your skin tone. I have dry skin, and the dewy finish reduced over the day while wearing the BB cream. I heard that some people with oily skin types didn’t like the BB cream because it looks greasy on them. I can advise you to get your hands on a travel size or on single samples before buying the BB cream if you worry about the greasy-ness. After all, reviews are only a personal opinion and that doesn’t mean that you will make same experiences that I have made.

Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream

Below is the picture of the BB cream when blended in.

Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream

And here is how the BB cream looks when I apply it on my skin. It looks so natural and nice and still has a perfect amount of coverage for me.The skin looks evened out and clear! Of course, during the day, and depending on how often you tend to touch your face, blow your nose, etc, the BB cream will start to fade, but the process can be slowed down when using a primer before. The BB cream has a flowery scent, by the way. I like the scent, but if you are sensitive to scents you should keep that in mind.

Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream

After so many years I’m still convinced by the Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream, and though it might not seem perfect, especially regarding all the ingredients. It delivers what I expect from a BB cream: it gives me a natural, but clear finish, and it is not as heavy as a foundation is. Moreover, it contains some sun protection and also some beneficial ingredients for the skin. This BB cream is like a first love for me, it will stay in your memory and make you feel happy and comfortable.

I love coconut chips and they always make me feel like living on an exotic island and enjoying the sun. The coconut chips from Heimatgut are available in two versions, original and caramel fudge. InStyle Box Spring 2018

So far the InStyle Box never let me down. The products have a value that exceeds the price of the box and the products are nice choices for the warmer seasons . 3. April 2018

//PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / SKINCARE //

I have some exciting KBeauty news to share: You probably have heard of the beauty box and online beauty retailer lookfantastic. Despite having wonderfully curated boxes with products from all over the world, they also have an online beauty shop where you can buy products that they have introduced previously. But did you know that they have started to include KBeauty products there, too? I kindly received a bunch of products that will be available on lookfantastic.de starting from 5th of April! Let’s have a look at KBeauty by Lookfantastic!

KBeauty by Lookfantastic

The package I received was packed so densely and was really heavy, so I was really excited to open it in first place. First of all, I was surprised and happy to see many products from Holika Holika. This brand is among the first KBeauty brands that I learned about. The unique packaging design targeting younger women has changed so much throughout the years. While in the past their products were very princess-y, they design now appears young but modern. Also, Holika Holika offers good quality ingredients and products at an affordable price.

KBeauty by Lookfantastic

I received a couple of sheetmasks from Holika Holika, like the adorable Holika Holika Baby Pet Magic Mask Sheet Vitality Panda, which is a print-type sheet mask, with a panda face printed to the cotton sheet. It contains Bamboo Extract and Niacinamide for brightening and strengthening the skin.

KBeauty by Lookfantastic

Other sheet masks from Holika Holika that I received are the Holika Holika Pure Essence Sheet Masks. There are in total 10 different versions of this mask available, each dedicated to a key ingredient. Here I have the Rice Mask and the Green Tea Mask. Green tea is dedicated to soothing and anti-inflammatory benefits, while the rice mask has brightening and moisturizing properties.

KBeauty by Lookfantastic

But it is not only the face we care for, but also our lips and hands. The Holika Holika Golden Monkey Glamour Lip 3-Step Kit has  a colorful and adorable design, and helps to make our lips smooth and kiss-able. The 3 steps start with a peeling napkin, infused with gold particles and plant extracts to care for chapped and flaky lips. The second step is a hydrogel lip patch for moisturizing and smoothing the lips. The last step is a rich essence containing honey and royal jelly to provide your lips with nutrients.

KBeauty by Lookfantastic

For the hands we have the Holika Holika Baby Silky Hand Mask Sheet. You can wear these cotton sheet mask gloves and let your dry and tired hands absorb all the goodness resulting in baby-smooth hands.

Holika Holika Aloe Facial Cleansing Foam and Aloe 92% Shower Gel are optical highlights. These two Aloe products come in the cutest shaped bottles, that resemble the Aloe leaf. Moreover they contain Aloe extract, which is great in soothing and cooling properties, which makes it super great for warmer seasons and/or irritated skin.

KBeauty by Lookfantastic

My personal highlight is the Holika Holika Good Cera Super Ceramide Gift Set, containing the Good Cera Cream in full size, plus the toner, emulsion, and cream in travel size on top.

KBeauty by Lookfantastic

I wanted to try more ceramide products for a while now and here is a whole kit containing this super beneficial ingredient for dry and sensitive skintypes. Ceramides are lipid molecules that help to retain the moisture level in skin, being a major component of cell membrane. The application of ceramides on our skin helps to strengthen the moisture barrier of the skin.

KBeauty by Lookfantastic

Apart from Holika Holika there are also other brands I received from lookfantastic. Especially, with upcoming summer and vacations it is also important to have smooth and beautiful feet. I love peeling masks for feet! The idea may sound gross, and when I say peel, I mean it like that too. The PackAge Korea Monthly New Feet Mask contains soaked cotton sheet socks. While wearing these your feet will be immerse into a peeling essence. You let the essence work for 40 min. Then wash them off. After a few days, the dead skin of your feet will start to peel off, and you will be left with new and smooth feet. But keep in mind to wear socks during the following days while the skin peels off, or you will have dead skin flakes all over your house (NOT KIDDING!).

KBeauty by Lookfantastic

I heard many positive things about the A. by Bom products, and here I have finally my first to try. The A. by Bom Super Power Baby Ultra Night Leaf Mask, is a two-step mask has a wonderful design! It consists of two steps: the first step are cotton sheet patches, and the second step is a thick sleeping pack. I’m really excited to try this one!

KBeauty by Lookfantastic

Lastly, the J,One Jelly Pack Concentrated Multi Functional Primer Gel is another product that I haven’t used before, but have seen the brand on various other blogs and social media. This multi-purpose product has the properties of a mask, treatment and primer. It enhances firmness and elasticity of the skin, and on the same time combats dullness and uneven skin tone. Sounds promising!

KBeauty by Lookfantastic

That’s a bunch of products to start with. Do you know any of these? How do you like the selection of KBeauty by Lookfantastic? Which one would you be interested to be reviewed first? Also, keep an eye open and visit lookfantastic.de by any chance to see what products they will add in future.

5th Bloganniversary & Giveaway Day 1

2. April 2018

// GIVEAWAY / BLOG / BIRTHDAY //

It’s Berries in the Snow’s 5th Bloganniversary! I can’t believe that it is 5 years ago that I started this blog. Back then, I never thought that anyone will be reading my reviews. In first line, I wanted to have a space to write down my personal experience with asian beauty products and beauty products in general that I tested myself. Shortly before I wrote my first blog post I was looking for a BB cream that would suit my skin tone, without being too heavy and clogging on my troubled skin at that point. After some online research I read my first review about a Korean BB cream from the brand Missha. I was so intrigued that I looked up more reviews for the BB cream, and finally ordered my first asian beauty product on ebay.

5th Bloganniversary

This BB cream was exactly what I was looking for, and, driven by that positive experience, I started to look for other skin care products from Missha. But it was not easy to find many English reviews at that time…and even fewer German ones. And that was the time, when I decided to write down my own very first “review”. It was not a professional one, and neither a long one, simply a “here, look at this product, and this is my impression”. Some time later I added a few more sentences and an ingredients list to the post and some other of my first reviews. When looking back at these first posts (I haven’t deleted them), they are not very informative to be honest. If you are curious, here is a link to my first review on Berries in the Snow. I sometimes thought about deleting these old posts and simply redo the reviews, but on the other hand they have a personal value to me, and they reflect the way that my blog has changed over the past years. Apart from the text, that became more informative (I hope so at least), I was also trying to improve my poor photography skills over the years. I went from “simply take a picture of the product on your desk”, to “white background and product pictures only” first. Then, I started to pay attention to social media, especially Instagram, and my mind was blown...all these pretty pictures! Flatlays were getting big on Instagram, and since my pictures were basically boring flatlays already I tried and I am still trying to improve as much as I can.

5th Bloganniversary

What did change in the 5 years for bloggers generally? In my opinion, blogging became widely accepted and known in the past years. There are people who can make their living on it, and I’m happy to see that. But, this makes it harder for small bloggers, too. If you want to be noticed, and you want that your opinion on a certain product is read and spread, it takes so much more effort than some years ago. If you get paid for your effort, you probably are more happy to do so. But most bloggers are not paid for it. They spend their free-time on advertising their writings and work. Many bloggers are utilized by brands as a (mostly cheaper) way to advertise a product. I started blogging in order to spread my honest opinion and experience on a certain product, and until now I was able to hold up to it luckily, and many of the other asian beauty bloggers I discovered throughout the years are doing the same. But yet, the amount of people who start blogging and buying a ton of followers and likes on social media channels, simply to have a higher reach and be noticed by brands, has highly increased, too. After 5 years of blogging I still do not have reached these (insane) numbers, as some ‘newer’ ones have. This makes me feel demotivated sometimes, for all the work that it put into this blog, although I know on the other hand, these are only numbers.

5th Bloganniversary

Would I like to change something in future? Of course! I think it is human to need a change once in a while. I think that many things can still be improved. I would like to write more about the ingredients, and I would like to make more professional pictures, and make my blog design more modern, too…But, as with many things in life, time is my limiting factor. Working a full-time job makes it really hard to be motivated. There are times, when my free time is so limited, that I do not want to spend it on blogging, but rather on living my life and enjoying my family and friends, and also take time for my other hobbies. Blogging started as one of my hobbies, but the more professional and perfect you want to be, the more it feels like a second job, too. And it needs a lot of attention and time!

5th Bloganniversary

A glance into the nearer future…

First of all, I want to thank YOU! You are reading my blog, maybe only stumbled upon it by chance. Some have returned to read more, and even leave comments occasionally. I’m more that happy about every single one, and therefore many thanks to everyone! I’m also very grateful for all the interaction on my social media channels. Thank you for all the likes and comments there! Also, my apologies for being always so slow on responding, although I’m trying to improve myself! In order to show how much I appreciate all of your love, likes, remarks, and critics, I want to give something back in return. Therefore, I have planned some upcoming anniversary giveaways (all are international, btw!) and post for the following days. There will be a total of 5 giveaways, some will be on my blog, and some will be on my Instagram only.

asian cosmetics beauty PR Sample review Wishtrend

Review: By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

30. March 2018

// PR SAMPLE / SKINCRE / AFFILIATE LINKS //

One of the ingredients that you will stumble upon quite often in asian beauty industry is Centella asiatica extract. Especially its wound-healing capabilities have made it very popular in skin care. One of the newer products from Wishtrend is the By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream, containing Centella asiatica extract as key ingredient, and kindly, they send me their product for testing and reviewing.

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

Probably, you know that Wishtrend does not only sell other Korean brands but also has a step in the beauty industry itself. Apart from known brand names Klairs or Jungle Botanics they also have products named under the brand “By Wishtrend”. Well-known products from By Wishtrend are the Vitamin C 21.5 Advanced Serum, Natural Vitamin 21.5 Enhancing Vitamin Mask, the Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash, and the Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water. I reviewed the last two products not long ago. The latest addition to the By Wishtrend product family is the By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream.

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

By Wishtrend Teca 1% Barrier Cream is a spot treatment cream that creates a protective layer to keep moisture and active ingredients within the skin while strengthening, calming, and improving the skin’s overall health with help of Centella asiatica.  Although it is designed as spot treatment, I personally use it on my whole face when I feel that it is irritated.

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

The barrier cream comes in blue colored sleek tube. Its cardboard box contains all the information about how to use and what ingredients it contains in English and Korean. The full ingredients list isn’t long either:

Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Cyclopentasiloxane, Ethyl Hexanediol, Cyclohexasiloxane, Asiaticoside, Madecassic Acid, Asiatic Acid, Tromethamine, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum, Glyceryl Caprylate, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA

You can check for the ingredients on SkinCarisma.

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

Centella Asiatica

Centella asiatica extracts have been used in traditional medicine and are still used today, having beneficial properties like wound-healing. Scientific studies have shown that continuous application of the extract can promote collagen building, act anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidative. The purified extract of Centella asiatica is called TECA. It is a standardized extract composed of Asiaticoside, Asiatic acid and Madecassic acid. It is used in skin care targeting wound-healing, scarred skin, sensitive skin, but also seems to be effective on cellulite.

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

Besides Centella asiatica the cream also contains allantoin, which is soothing and skin protecting. And you will also spot silicons. Since it is a barrier cream, the silicons will help to form a barrier and reduce the loss of moisture of the skin. It is important to apply this cream as last step though, because it will also prevent other skin care steps to penetrate through the barrier. I personally love to use this cream on my full face as last step when it is irritated. I discovered that it always helped a lot with redness and reduced them after a few hours.

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

The TECA Barrier Cream has a balm type consistency and no scent at all. It even doesn’t have that specific non-scented cosmetics scent, which can be sometimes strange. It absorbs quickly, has a cooling touch, and doesn’t leave a sticky feeling nor any greasiness.

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

I’ve already used up 3/4 of the cream and you can guess that I enjoyed using it a lot. Especially, when I have the feeling that my skin is starting to feel irritated or redness is appearing I apply this cream at last step over my skin. I also didn’t have any problems to use it during daytime and apply makeup over it. It is really a nice barrier cream and works out great for my skin!

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

If you are curious about the By Wishtrend TECA 1% it retails for 27.50 US$ at Wishtrend. Keep in mind the friend-referral program from Wishtrend: You can receive a 5 Us$ referral coupon if you use my invitation code 17939205 upon registration and you’ll receive this voucher immediately. Review: Swanicoco Super Natural Hydrogel Brightening Mask

26. March 2018

// PR SAMPLE / SKINCARE / AFFILIATE LINKS //

I’m very slow with sheet mask reviews. On the one hand, I have so many that I forget to not my impressions while using them and forget about them. On the other hand, it is difficult to write a proper review from using a specific sheet mask only one time. Here is the Swanicoco Super Natural Hydrogel Brightening Mask provided by Swanicoco. I was able to try it a couple of times, and I hope that I can provide a descent opinion about this one.

Swanicoco Super Natural Hydrogel Brightening Mask

Swanicoco is a Korean brand that stared off its business by creating naturally fermented soaps. Now, they have a huge range of products including skin care and make up products, but still all the products share the same believe in natural ingredients excluding artificial and chemical components. Swanicoco uses grains, fruits, herbs and oriental medicine materials as raw materials for their fermentation. By fermenting the products they can be much more easily absorbed into the skin, help retaining moisture and improve damaged skin. They state that instead of using purified water like in most existing cosmetics, Swanicoco has replaced the water with ferment filtrate. Additionally, pigments, synthetic perfumes, chemical preservatives, alcohol, mineral oil, paraben and benzophenones have been excluded from their products. Oh, and they are also free from animal testing!

Swanicoco Super Natural Hydrogel Brightening Mask

The brand name Swanicoco is derived from the word “swan” and the term “coco”. “Swan” referrs to the elegance and feminine aspects of the bird we probably all know. “Coco” refers to the coconut, representing the natural ingredients. In the logo of the brand you will find the word “natural”, which refers to the brand as being a natural cosmetics brand. There is also a peony blossom in the middle of the logo  that stands for richness and splendor.

Swanicoco Super Natural Hydrogel Brightening Mask

This hydrogel sheet mask has brightening properties. It contains ingredients like Niacinamide and Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, which have brightening properties. Moreover, it contains ingredients that are hydrating and soothing, like Aloe extract, Peach fruit extract, Glycerin, and Sodium Hyaluronate. You can check for the ingredients on SkinCarisma*.

Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Ceratonia Siliqua Gum, Xanthan Gum, Aureobasidium Pullulans Ferment, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Prunus Persica (Peach) Fruit Extract, Algae Extract, Soy Isoflavones, Sodium Hyaluronate, Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Primula Veris Extract, Alchemilla Vulgaris Extract, Veronica Officinalis Extract, Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract, Calcium Carrageenan, Allantoin, Niacinamide, Calcium Pantothenate, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Pyridoxine HCl, Maltodextrin, Silica, Sodium Starch Octenylsuccinate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Bambusa Textilis Stem Extract, Pinus Palustris Leaf Extract, Calcium Lactate, Flavor

Swanicoco Super Natural Hydrogel Brightening Mask

The hydrogel is torn easily, although it isn’t very thin. It stays on the skin, and doesn’t fall off. But I always have some problems with hydrogels and applying them somehow. Is it only me? The fit depends on the shape of your face. For me it had a nice fit apart from the part for the nose, which was too much. The hydrogel mask has a cooling effect on the skin and feels very refreshing, also when not stored in the fridge. This cooling effect also results in a short-time brightening of the skin. I cannot say if it makes a big difference when used on a regular basis in terms of brightening though.

Swanicoco Super Natural Hydrogel Brightening Mask

Currently, I couldn’t find the Swanicoco Super Natural Hydrogel Brightening Mask anywhere. But Swanicoco has also a bunch of other masks and really nice products. You can also find Swanicoco products at Beautytap* (formerly W2Beauty). Check my Coupons & Discount page for a valid coupon to save some bucks, if you decide to buy something from them.

Top 5 Liptsticks & Lip Tints for Spring

23. March 2018

// AFFILIATE LINKS / KBEAUTY / MAKE-UP //

It’s spring officially! To be honest, it doesn’t feel like spring at all here were I live. We even had snow last weekend again, and at the moment all I wish for is some warm weather above 10° C. This is usually the time, when the dark toned clothes I wear are gradually replaced by flower prints, and also the lipsticks and tints I use have more vibrant and spring-like colors. Here is a selection of my Top 5 Liptsticks & Lip Tints for Spring. Affiliate links are marked with and asterisk*.

Top 5 Liptsticks & Lip Tints for Spring

The product here are my favorites at the moment. Although they are not the latest or brand-new products, but I love their vibrant colors and the way they feel on the lips. And there is nothing like a pretty color to make you feel like spring!

Top 5 Liptsticks & Lip Tints for Spring

Top 5 Liptsticks & Lip Tints for Spring

Labiotte Wine Lip Tint RD01

I’m obsessed with this lip tint! First of all, the packaging is perfect. A tiny wine bottle! Why not?! And while I was using lip tints very often in the past, the last months I neglected them. This one brought back my love for them. This shade has a cherry red shade and the stain lasts a long time. It is water-based lip tint, and there are 6 different shades available. And, by the way, it contains wine extract! They retail for 14.76 US$ from Beautytap* for example (check out the current coupons and discounts >>here<<).

Top 5 Liptsticks & Lip Tints for Spring

Heimish Dailism Serum Rouge Lipstick “All Night”

These are probably the most hydrating lipsticks I have. They glide so smoothly and the shades are so pretty, and I reviewed three of them back >>here<<.  But this vibrant pink shade is made for spring moods! I don’t wear a lot of pinks, but this one might be a pink shade that suits almost everyone. Also, I love the magnetic cap and the sleek design of these lipsticks. They retail for 14.99 US$ from Amazon.com* / Jolse.

Top 5 Liptsticks & Lip Tints for Spring

Missha Chiffon Painting Rouge CRD01

When I bought this I used it a couple of times and forgot about it. This was the time when matte and velvety lipsticks became very popular and I bought too many of them to really appreciate the single one. Recently, I rediscovered it in my stash, and what can I say, I love the mousse-like texture and that feel on the lips. If you are curious you can read my review >>here<. You can get this for around 5 US$ from RoseRoseShop.

Top 5 Liptsticks & Lip Tints for Spring

M.A.C. Retro Matte Lipstick “Ruby Woo”

This is probably my favorite lipstick ever and always! The most classic red shade together with that retro texture is my go-to-lipstick for nights out. It lasts a long time and is everything you expect from a lipstick. It retails for 23 US$ from Amazon*, or any MAC-store.

Top 5 Liptsticks & Lip Tints for Spring

Peri Pera Peri’s Ink Velvet No. 6 “Celeb Deep Rose”

I haven’t had time to review this one, but I’m using it very often. It has a lovely velvet texture and a semi-matte finish. Moreover, I love that dusty rose shade. There are 10 different shades available for these velvet inks. The texture is mousse-like, but feels super soft and velvet-y on the lips. And no need to say, that these ink-bottle shaped containers from Peri Pera are super cute! These retail for 10.42 US$ from Beautytap* (check out the current coupons and discounts >>here<<).
