Review: Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor

14. October 2017

// PR SAMPLE / MAKE UP / LIPS //

A while ago I received an amazing package containing all 15 colors of the new Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor by the German drugstore Rossmann. I want to share my impression and the swatches of all 15 shades with you today:

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor

I remember years ago that the brand Revlon was available in German drugstores. Then, suddenly, the brand was taken off the German market. Many people who loved that brand had to get the products from this brand during vacation in other countries or order from abroad. This year the German drugstore Rossmann announced the relaunch of Revlon in Germany. Welcome back, Revlon!

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor

As the name says, the Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor is a gel formula lipstick containing hyaluronic acid for moisturizing the lips. They glide on very smoothly and don’t feel drying on the lips, rather they feel very lightweight on the lips. Furthermore, they have a nice shine that they leave on the lips and yet have a good pigmentation. If you are scent sensitive I have to tell you though, that these lipsticks have a fruity and noticeable scent (mango nd whipped vanilla according to the description).

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor

I will start with the nude colors of the available shades from top to bottom:

700 “Sand”: a light beige shade and the nudest color of the lipsticks

705 “Dawn”: a dusty rose color

710 “Desert”: a pink-brown shade

715 “Arabica”: a brownish, rusty shade

720 “Pink Cloud”: a light girly pink color

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor

Despite being the nude colors from the range all colors show up nicely and look different from one another. My favourite here is Arabica since it fits perfectly for the autumn season.

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor

The next shades are in the bright reds and pinks from top to bottom:

725 “Sunset”: a dark coral shade with great pigmentation

730 “Tropical”: A vibrant ad bright pink

735 “Garden”: a darker, pigmented pink

740 “Coral”: a bright and vibrant coral shade

745 “Rhubarb”: a pigmented cherry red

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor

From these colors “Sunset” and “Rhubarb” are my favourite colors.

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor

The last 5 swatches are the darker berry shades from top to bottom:

750 “Lava”: a classy and beautiful red shade

755 “Adobe”: a dark red shade

760 “Vineyard”: a mauve color

765 “Blossom”: a vibrant purple shade

770 “Twilight”: a dark purple shade

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor

This is the color range I love the most shades from. Favourites are “Lava”, “Adobe”, and “Vineyard”.

As you can see there is so much versatility in the shades and despite the shiny and lightweight formula the color pay-off of all the shades is visible and shows up nicely. My personal favourites are from the darker shades, simply because pale pink colors don’t suit me much and the lighter shades don’t show up nicely because of my natural lip color. I really love the feeling when applying the lipsticks because they glide so nicely and leave a pretty sheen on the lips as well. They do not last forever though, but at least fade away nicely. The Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor comes in a slim pen-size and retails for 10.99€.

What do you think about the color selection? Which is your favourite color?

Unboxing: Barbara Box No. 3 / 2017

12. October 2017

// PR SAMPLE / UNBOXING / SUBSCRIPTION BOX //

The third box of the newly launched Barbara Box arrived at my doorsteps a while ago and I would love to share the content with you again. I loved the concept and the products in the boxes so far, and if you live in Germany and love subscription boxes with a good mix of products you might love this, too. If you missed my other unboxings you can head over >>here<<. The third Barbara Box is dedicated to cozy autumn moments to share with your best friends:

Barbara Box No. 3

The Barbara Box ambassador is also the donor of the name, a German celebrity called Barbara Schöneberger. The box is not only advertised by her, but also she selects the products. The topic of the boxes revolve around “Girls Night” with your best friend(s)and contain food, drinks, beauty, decoration, games…so as you see the Barbara Box seems to be very versatile.

Barbara Box No. 3

The box is not a monthly box but is released every three months and comes together with a print of the Barbara magazine, a magazine curated by Barbara Schöneberger aswell and addressing women in their 30s.

Barbara Box No. 3

All boxes I received so far were heavy and full of products. I’m always surprised about the weight when I receive the parcel from the post. This time the box contained 8 different products which I want to show you below:

Barbara Box No. 3

Baileys Iced Coffee Latte

This newly launched Iced Coffee Drink came twice, so you can share it with your best friend on the next occasion. It combines the taste of Baileys with Arabica- and Robusta Coffee and milk. Each can contains 200 ml and retails for 2.49 US$.

Barbara Box No. 3

Dr. Grandel Hyaluron Moisture Flash Ampoules

A deep and intense micro hyaluronic acid treatment, which supplies the deeper layers of the skin with hydration. The package contains 3 ampoules containing 3 ml each, which retail for 14.90€.

Barbara Box No. 3

Wilco Classic Jojoba Nailcare Pen

This pen is perfect to be taken along with you in your bag. It helps to nourish your nails with jojoba oil, vitamins and keratin. It is super easy to use and even has replacement tips included. The pen retails for 6.95€.

Barbara Box No. 3

Erwin Müller Walk-Frottier Guest-Towel “Tübingen”

What’s better than to be offered a soft and cozy towel when staying over at a friend’s place?! This towel is perfect, small and very soft. Perfect for your beauty routine, as well. It retails for 3.50€.

Barbara Box No. 3

Barbara Box Mug

Autumn and Winter are usually the seasons when people drink a lot of hot beverages like tea. So mugs are always very useful to have at hands. This mug retails for 11.90 US$.

Barbara Box No. 3

Messmer Cake Teas

And of course a mug would not be complete without some proper tea for it. My box contained the Messmer Cake Tea variation with Strawberry Cheesecake Taste. Perfect to share with your friends. One pack containing 18 tea bags retails for 2.19€.

Barbara Box No. 3

Ultrasun Overnight Summer Recovery Mask

This sleeping mask contains hyaluronic acid and brown algae for moisturizing and refreshing the skin after a sunny autumn walk…unfortunately our autumn has not been really sunny yet. Still this mask sounds nice to use. 50 ml retail for 39.00€.

Barbara Box No. 3

Tropicai coconut chips “Crispy Cacao”

These coconut chips are really addictive! ME and my boyfriend ate it right away and couldn’t stop. It is so delicious! The coconut flavour together with the cocoa and the coconut flower sugar is a perfect combination. 120g retail for 2.98€

Barbara Box No. 3

Another versatile box containing some beauty products, drinks, and snacks. My favourite items this time were the sleeping mask and the coconut chips. From the three boxes I received so far this is not my favourite (No.1 is still my favourite box so far), but it is still a good variety and the value is nice as well. Barbara Box is released every three months, which makes it even more appalling in my opinion. The box retails for 29.95 €, but there are also options for a yearly or half-year order with 4 or 2 boxes, respectively. Considering the prize of the included products in the boxes so far it makes up far the retail price definitely. I’m really curious how they will continue in the future.

How do you like the autumn edition of the Barbara Box?

Review: SanDaWha Camellia Flower Hydrating Mist

8. October 2017

// PR SAMPLE / AFFILIATE LINKS / KBEAUTY //

When it comes to mists I’m really more of the lazy type. I know how refreshing the feeling is when you spritz some good quality mist on your face and sometimes I use mists as replacement of my toner. I must admit that I was primarily intrigued by the packaging design of the SanDaWha Camellia Flower Hydrating Mist, which was provided to me for reviewing purpose from Beautytap. But it was also another chance for me to try to use mists more often in my skincare routine.

SanDaWha Camellia Flower Hydrating Mist

SanDaWha is a natural cosmetics brand from Korea. Its products are free from mineral oils, free from alcohol, free from animal based ingredients, synthetic perfume and fragrance free, and free from artificial pigments and artificial preservatives. From the high quality plant-based ingredients Camellia flower is their key ingredient. Camellia japonica is a member of the tea family and grows naturally in Korea and Japan, where it is also known by the name “Dongbaek” (Korean) or “Tsubaki” (Japanese). The oil from the Camellia flower is widely used in asian cosmetics and has moisturizing properties.

SanDaWha Camellia Flower Hydrating Mist

The SanDaWha Camellia Flower Hydrating Mist is a multi-purpose mist designed for refreshing and relaxing you, but also as replacement for toner, or even to be used as makeup-fixer. Also, if you need some glow and fresh-up throughout the day this mist does a good job.

SanDaWha Camellia Flower Hydrating Mist

The SanDaWha Camellia Flower Hydrating Mist comes in a beautiful pinkish-red spraying bottle made from hard plastic and a red metallic part around the cap. It contains 80 ml and is the size of my hand regarding its height. Maybe you would not consider it travel friendly in size, but it is definitely not heavy or too large either. The backside of the bottle contains English and Korean descriptions of how to use the product and what it is, but the ingredients are only listed in Korean. Yet, I found the English ingredients listed on Beautytap:

Camellia japonica Flower Extract (92.52%), Licorice root extract, Green tea extract, Pea protein, Pea extract

You can also check Skincarisma for the ingredients analysis. As you can see the list is short and to the point. Exactly what I want a mist to be like. The main part of the mist is the Camellia japonica flower extract, which gives the product also its name. The licorice, green tea and pea extracts are a plus.

SanDaWha Camellia Flower Hydrating Mist

Oh, and look at this little detail on the cap of the mist! A single Camellia flower! So beautiful, isn’t it?

SanDaWha Camellia Flower Hydrating Mist

The mist comes out very finely when you push down the nozzle. First, you will recognize a nice flowery scent of the Camellia flower, which is lightweight and not overpowering. A hint of the scent will remain, but it won’t be really noticeable too much any longer once the product is absorbed and dried down. It absorbs very fast and doesn’t leave a sticky scent, neither a film. Of course, a mist always feels refreshing and relaxing once you apply it on your face. I love to use them on hot summer days. In winter, a mist replaces either my toner, or I use it to fix my makeup, especially if it is very powdery or matte and I want some glow instead. This mist works well for that, since it is a very fine mist.

SanDaWha Camellia Flower Hydrating Mist

If you are one of those people who use mists very frequently and love that refreshing feeling throughout the day the SanDaWha Camellia Flower Hydrating Mist could be a nice choice. I love the fact that it contains only very few ingredients and all of them are plant-based. That means it is vegan and doesn’t contain any additives. Since it doesn’t contain any preservatives though, you have to keep in mind to use it up quickly before it gets bad. The mist is also very fine, which makes it suitable for fixing makeup.

At Beautytap the SanDaWha Camellia Flower Hydrating Mist retails for 16 US$.

You can also check out the Discounts & Coupon Page for saving some bucks.

Do you love mists? And are they part of your daily skincare routine?

Review: Olivarrier Dual Moist Hyaluron Essence

7. October 2017

// PR SAMPLE / SKINCARE / KBEAUTY //

Here is the last product I received from Olivarrier for reviewing purpose, the Olivarrier Dual Moist Hyaluron Essence. I already reviewed the Olivarrier Gentle Glow Seed Polishing Mask and the Emolient Extra Comfort Cream before, so if you are curious about the brand be sure to check these out as well. But first, let’s see what this essence is about:

Olivarrier Dual Moist Hyaluron Essence

Olivarrier is a new Korean beauty brand focusing on the key ingredient in their product, which is olive squalane. The name is a mix of “olive” and “barrier”, since the olive squalane in their skincare products is supposed to moisturize and penetrate the skin and helping to protect its natural moisture barrier.

Olivarrier Dual Moist Hyaluron Essence

Olive Squlane

What is olive squalane exactly? First of all, there is squalene and squalaneSqualene occurs widely within animals and plants, since it is part of the synthesis of sterols. It occurs in our sebum for example. But also in plant oils and in a high concentration it is also found in shark liver. Squalene is unsaturated and therefore it oxidizes easily. In order to prevent oxidization squalene is hydrogenated leading to saturated and stable squalaneOlive squalane is an animal friendly alternative of using squalane derived from sharks for example and has the same benefits for skin. Squalane is a great emollient, humectant and suited for sensitive skins by being non-irritating.

When I heard about the brand first time on Fiftly Shades of Snail I was attracted especially about the word “olive”, but also because of the simple and minimalistic design of the products. They have a beautiful skincare range that you can check out on their official web page. It consists of a cleansing bar, a toner, an essence, two different creams, a mask, and .

Olivarrier Dual Moist Hyaluron Essence

The Olivarrier Dual Moist Hyaluron Essence comes in a simple white cardboard box with descriptions in Korean and English. It is a highly moisturizing essence containing hyaluronic acid and panthenol. The essence comes in a grey colored, plastic pump bottle.

Olivarrier Dual Moist Hyaluron Essence

Below the ingredients of the essence are listed:

Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Squalane (Olive Squalane), Panthenol, Madecassoside, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Arginine, Allantonin, Olea Europaea (olive) Fruit Oil, Ceramide NP, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract, Carbomer, Octyldodecanol, Isohexadecane, Dodecane, Isoeicosane, Octadecane, Tetradecane, Potassium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Avena Sativa (Oat) Meal Extracts, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, PEG-60 hydrogenated Castor Oil, Hydrogenated LEcithin, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Linoleic Acid

You can also check the ingredients via COSDNA or check out the ingredients analysis by Skincarisma. Sodium Hyaluronate, Squalane,Panthenol, Olive oil, Ceramides…all those ingredients are contributing to moisturize and hydrate your skin. Additionally, the list contains Madecassoside, a triterpenoid compound found in Centella asiatica. Madecassoside has anti-inflammatory, wound healing, and anti-oxidant activities. It is supported by Allantoin, which also has wound-healing and cell-regenerating properties.

Olivarrier Dual Moist Hyaluron Essence

The essence itself has a gel-cream consistency. The milky essence is quite fluid and spreads to a moist and hydrating layer and absorbs quickly. The skin does feel hydrated after using it. The Olivarrier Dual Moist Hyaluron Essence is weak acid based (pH 5.5), free from chemical preservatives (parabens & phenoxyethanol), moreover, it is fragrance-free, coloring-agent free and dermatologically tested.

Olivarrier Dual Moist Hyaluron Essence

If you are looking for a cruelty-free, vegan hydrating essence, which is free from chemical preservatives you will do nothing wrong here. It does a descent job as essence and worked well with my skincare products. It didn’t break me out during the whole time I’ve been testing it and I’ve used it happily, but keep in mind that everyone may react in a different way.

You can buy the Olivarrier Dual Moist Hyaluron Essence from:

 RoseRoseShop for ~30 US$

Jolse for ~30 US$

Review: By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water

4. October 2017

// PR SAMPLE / AFFILIATE LINKS / KBEAUTY //

A while ago I received the new By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water for reviewing purpose by Wishtrend. I’ve tested it for quite some time and I’m almost through the bottle and I’m positive about this product so far.

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water

Probably, you know that Wishtrend does not only sell other Korean brands but also has a step in the beauty industry itself. Apart from known brand names Klairs or Jungle Botanics they also have products named under the brand “by Wishtrend”. Well-known products from By Wishtrend are the Vitamin C 21.5 Advanced Serum or the Natural Vitamin 21.5 Enhancing Vitamin Mask. The Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water is the newest addition to the By Wishtrend product family.

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water

Mandelic Acid

Is this a toner? Yes and no! It is a hydrating liquid to treat your skin after cleansing and acts as mild chemical exfoliant. This prep water uses a low concentration of mandelic acid for exfoliating your skin. In contrast to harsh AHAs and BHAs Mandelic Acid is a mild AHA with a large molecular size, so it is better suited for people with sensitive skin or people who want to start incorporate chemical exfoliant into their skincare. It has antibacterial properties and helps to reduce pigmention of the skin.

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water

Apart from the key ingredient, which is mandelic acid, this product contains some more beneficial ingredients:

Water, Mandelic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Beta-Glucan, Panthenol, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Centella Asiatica Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Sorbitol, Dimethyl Sulfone, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Citrate, Arginine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Carbomer

Panthonol, Beta Glucan, and Sodium Hyaluronate are acting moisturizing and hydrating. Centella Asiatica Extracta acts regenerating on damaged skin. Licorice extract helps to even up the skin tone and acts soothing. You can check out the ingredients analysis on Skincarisma, too.

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water

I use the By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water after cleansing my skin. I pour the clear and watery liquid on a cotton pad and swipe it over my face, especially over my T-zone. Afterwards I continue with the rest of my skincare routine. Sometimes, I also add a toner after using the Skin Prep Water to add some additional moisture.

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water

I discovered that this mild exfoliator doesn’t irritate the skin at all, but yet it makes the skin feel softer and smooth. When I started using this again after my vacation I felt that it made my freckles disappear really quickly. It doesn’t have any special scent to it and absorbs quickly, too, without any trace of stickiness. I use the By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water in the evening almost every day. During day I use a Vitamin C serum. I’m wearing sunscreen during day aswell.

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water

I came to like the By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water very much. It is a mild exfoliation and a perfect start to get your skin to like AHAs. It makes the skin soft and smooth and can be used along with my regular skincare routine without any problems (if you are interested in what products I’m using you might want to check out my Instagram account where I share my skincare from time to time.

If you are curious about the Mandelic Acid 5 % Skin Prep Water , too, it retails for 22.00 US$ and is available at Wishtrend. Also keep in mind the friend-referral program from Wishtrend: You can receive a 5 Us$ referral coupon if you use my invitation code 17939205 upon registration and you’ll receive this voucher immediately. There will be a specific field in your registration form called “friends invitation program” where you can put the code mentioned above. This way new customers can safe 5 US$ which is a great possibility to safe some money. Also, Wishtrend has a Free-Shipping Area, were you can find products that can be bought with free shipping. Check out my post on the current Wishtrend Coupons. Until end of October you can try out the Skinmiso Spot Repairing Serum worth 24.99 US$ for FREE (you only have to pay the shipping costs) with the code >> SPOTFREEOCT <<!

What is your opinion on chemical peeling of the skin? Do you use AHAs/BHAs? Would you consider Mandelic Acid as an alternative?

Review: Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact Black

29. September 2017

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / MAKEUP //

I love cushions! At first I never thought that I would be using cushions too often and now I’m neglecting all my other BB/CC creams/foundations in tubes for my easy-to-use cushion foundations/bb creams. Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact is not the first cushion I tried, but yet, after having it used to its end I can definitely say that it has been one of my favourites!

Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact

First of all, Swanicoco is a Korean brand that stared off its business by creating naturally fermented soaps. Now, they have a huge range of products including skincare and make up products, but still all the products share the same believe in natural ingredients excluding artificial and chemical components. Swanicoco uses grains, fruits, herbs and oriental medicine materials as raw materials for their fermentation. By fermenting the products they can be much more easily absorbed into the skin, help retaining moisture and improve damaged skin. They state that instead of using purified water like in most existing cosmetics, Swanicoco has replaced the water with ferment filtrate. Additionally, pigments, synthetic perfumes, chemical preservatives, alcohol, mineral oil, paraben and benzophenones have been excluded from their products. Oh, and they are also free from animal testing!

Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact

Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact is a multifunction make up product combined with ingredients which are beneficial for the skin. It also contains fermented ingredients and various fruit and plant-based ingredients. Also, the cushion has SPF30/ PA ++ and gives some sun protection, too. Usually, despite the sun protection stated on cushions or foundations I would still advise you to use regular sunscreen below your makeup. The layer of makeup you apply is usually very thin and that results in a weak sun protection – if at all.

Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact

The ingredients are listed on the cardboard box, but only in Korean. Here are the ingredients in English:

Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate, Titanium Dioxide, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Butylene Glycol, Octocrylene, Water, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Dimethicone, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Diisopropyl Dimer Dilinoleate, Arbutin, Glycerin, Bees wax, Sodium Chloride, Sorbitan Olivate, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, CI 77492, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Caprylyl Glycol, Dimethicone/Vinyldimethicone Crosspolymer, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, CI 77491, Mica, Aluminum Hydroxide, Propylene Carbonate, Pentylene Glycol, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugarcane) Extract, CI 77499, Allantoin, Glyceriyl Caprylate, Hexandiol, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Adenosine, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Glyceryl Laurate, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Polyglutamic Acid, Origanum Vulgare Leaf Extract, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Perilla Ocymoides Seed Oil, Tropolone, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Ethyl Ascorbyl Ether, Cordyceps militaris Extract

Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact

I always love the details of the cardboard boxes of Swanicoco products, with all those tiny symbols. Even the lash of the cardboard lid contains some of them.

Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact

The Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact itself comes in a black cushion compact. It looks pretty much like all cushion pacts look like, with a application puff and a mirror inside the lid. The product is available in two shades, 21 and 23, I decided to go for 23 which usually suits my skin tone best.

Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact

The difference to other cushions is the core of it: Unlike other cushions this one doesn’t have a make up soaked sponge inside, but a pressure plate with holes, that release a custom amount of the makeup by pressing it down.

Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact

Above you see how it looks like before pressing down the plate and below you see how the make up is released through the holes.

Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact

The Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact is designed for coverage. It is supposed to cover up freckles and darkness and can be used for troubled skin aswell. It has a formula with moisture balance, so it can be worn by oily skintypes, too. The formula is a creamy matte one containing moisture particles which make your skin glow. I would consider it a semi matte finish.

Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact

The swatch looks a bit more yellowish than my skin tone, but after applying it to my skin below you can see that it looks very naturally like my own skin color. Actually, I’m probably the wrong person to judge this cushion in terms of coverage, because I don’t have much of a troubled skin thanks to my thorough skincare. Yet, my skin tends to have some redness around the nose and cheeks and in summer I have some freckles. The cushion manages to cover up the redness and my freckles very nicely. Also, it helps to reduce the appearance of my pores on my nose as you can see below. The picture before was taken after my regular skincare, by the way. Usually my skin does not glow that much :D But you can also see that finish after applying the cushion keeps the glow and even adds some sparkles here and there despite its semi matte finish. Also, it doesn’t get cakey throughout the day and looks like freshly applied for several hours before it starts to fade out.

Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact

All in all, I’m very happy with the Swanicoco Vita Triple Cover Swan CC Pact Black. I probably never used up a cushion that fast either and I’m really sad that it is already finished. Also, I think it doesn’t have any refills. At leat I couldn’t figure out how to remove the core part of the cushion pact. I saw refills for it as well, and it is available in two shades, 21 and 23. There is also another version of the cushion available in white. The retail price lies around 30 US$. I received this cushion for reviewing purpose from Swanicoco. I also reviewed the Swanicoco Flower Silk Cream and Swan Cream Butter Edition >>here<<.

Review: Klairs Rich Moist Foaming Cleanser

27. September 2017

// PR SAMPLE / SKINCARE / KBEAUTY //

The last products I received from LoveMyCosmetics as part of their ambassador program for the Korean brand Klairs is the Klairs Rich Moist Foaming Cleanser. I talked about the Klairs Gentle Black Cleansing Oil and Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish previously, so be sure to check out these two reviews as well. By now those who are reading my blog for some time know how much I love the products from the brand Klairs. I almost tried all their products at least once and they never disappoint me. A good thing is also that Klairs frequently updates their products regarding their ingredients or their packaging and volume. And usually they listen to the recommendations and remarks made from their customer in reviews.

Klairs Rich Moist Foaming Cleanser

Klairs is a Korean brand which is eco-friendly, producing products which are animal-testing-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free, artificial-color-free and recently they are vegan, too. Their products address people with sensitive skin and people who want to moisturize their skin. I reviewed some of their products before, like the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum or the Klairs Midnight Blue Cream, which both convinced me in their effects. I also love the Klairs Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner, which by the way has been updated and improved, too. Their saying “Simple but Enough” really nails it and I think that many people will agree in that point with me.

Klairs Rich Moist Foaming Cleanser

The Klairs Rich Moist Foaming Cleanser is a hypoallergenic face wash containing low irritant amino acids instead of chemical detergents. Together with hyaluronic acid, olive oil and ceramide 3 in addition to a pH of 5-6 it keeps the skins moisture level and prevents it from feeling dry. The cleanser comes in a pumping bottle, which makes it very easy to use and you do not have to use an additional foaming net to foam up the cleanser.

Klairs Rich Moist Foaming Cleanser

The foam itself is very soft and not a thick solid foam like you would expect from shaving foam for example. There are visible bubbles and it has a herbal scent to it. I use the Klairs Rich Moist Cleansing Foam as second step of my cleansing routine after I have removed the makeup with another oil-based cleanser. This cleanser is also not made for removing make up. Instead it will make your skin feel clear and cared for after you already removed the layer of your makeup. I think it is a nice cleanser and it doesn’t dry out my skin, even after several cleansing steps.

Klairs Rich Moist Foaming Cleanser

If you are looking for a good and non-drying, easy to use second cleanser for your double cleansing routine you will like this cleanser. The pump application makes it so easy to use and saves you some time. The ingredients are great, too, and eco-friendly on top! It is made for all skintypes and comes with 100 ml in full-size. Hanse-Klunker Fashion Bracelet

24. September 2017

// PR SAMPLE / FASHION //

In Germany, especially in the north, many fashion brands are inspired by marine motifs and sea travel. A while ago I talked about a brand called Hanse-Klunker and their bracelets inspired by the tank treads look. I had the pleasure to try their new range of bracelets called Hanse-Klunker Fashion:

Hanse-Klunker Fashion

Hanse-Klunker is a German brand by the trend company Elbfreunde. It is a brand that origins from the hanseatic city of Hamburg in northern Germany. Hamburg is known for its large harbour, which is the second largest harbour in Europe. Here lies also the reason of using nautical motifs, because it can be identified with the town the brand originates from.

Hanse-Klunker Fashion

Hanse-Klunker offers a wide range of different necklaces and bracelets in the tank treads look. The bracelets are either made from silicon and premium steel, or they are made fully from steel.

Hanse-Klunker Fashion

The new Hanse-Klunker Fashion Bracelets are made from silicon and steel, but in contrast to the bracelet I introduced last time they are designed in the Venetian Style.

Hanse-Klunker Fashion

The bracelet I received is made from silicon in cobblestone grey and silver steel. It has a width of 0.7 cm, which is half the width of the previous bracelet. This makes it even more suitable for stacking it with other arm accessories.

Hanse-Klunker Fashion

The silicon part also makes it really flexible for wearing above or below your clothes. Especially with the colder weather now it is always nice to have accessories that can be worn on top of your sleeves.

Hanse-Klunker Fashion

The Hanse-Klunker bracelet has a unique design, and the combination of silicon with steel is has a modern vibe, yet it looks very elegant on its own.

Hanse-Klunker Fashion

If you like that kind of bracelets have a look at Hanse-Klunker here and all the color variations of their bracelets. There are also options for rosegold and golden steel part and various colours for the silicon part of the bracelet. The Hanse-Klunker Fashion Bracelet I’m showing you here retails for 34.90€ and is available in two sizes. I selected the smaller size of the two and it is a great fit. You can get 20% discount using the code “misslaven20” which is valdi until 30th Septmeber 2017.

Review: SanDaWha Camellia Shampoo and Conditioner

21. September 2017

/ PR SAMPLE / HAIR / AFFILIATE LINKS /

I love to try out hair care from other countries. Sometimes you find true gems, which you would never have found in the range of your regular drugstore haul. When I heard that the Korean brand SanDaWha also has a shampoo and conditioner containing Camellia Flower I was sure that I needed to try it. Thankfully, I was provided a set of the SanDaWha Camellia Shampoo and Conditioner from W2Beauty.

SanDaWha Camellia Shampoo and Conditioner

SanDaWha is a natural cosmetics brand from Korea. Its products are free from mineral oils, free from alcohol, free from animal based ingredients, synthetic perfume and fragrance free, and free from artificial pigments and artificial preservatives. From the high quality plant-based ingredients Camellia flower is their key ingredient. Camellia japonica is a member of the tea family and grows naturally in Korea and Japan, where it is also known by the name “Dongbaek” (Korean) or “Tsubaki” (Japanese). This flower is also the ingredient of the Shiseido Tsubaki hair care. The oil from the Camellia flower is widely used in asian cosmetics and has moisturizing properties.

SanDaWha Camellia Shampoo and Conditioner

My hair is frizzy and has natural waves and curls. I don’t have thick hair though, but rather fine one. My hair is also quite long (at the moment down to my waist) and therefore the ends are pretty damaged (time to visit the hair saloon…). When I look for hair care I usually look for straightening and hydrating properties and damage repair. My scalp is dry to normal depending on the season. These products from SanDaWha are directed towards sensitive & dry to normal scalp.

SanDaWha Camellia Shampoo and Conditioner

The SanDaWha Camellia Shampoo and Conditioner come in large pump bottles containing 400 g each. I love to have pump bottles for hair care since it makes it much easier to control how much product you need. The white colored bottles are decorated with a single red Camellia flower on the front. I love the design! Below the flower you will find a short text which describes the product. The pump of the bottles has to be unlocked upon the first use. This prevents the product to leak out during the shipping. Also, if you want to take the shampoo somewhere else, you could lock it again.

SanDaWha Camellia Shampoo and Conditioner

The ingredients of the SanDaWha Camellia Clear Moisturizing Shampoo are listed below. The shampoo contains almost 50% Camellia Japonica Flower Extract. Apart from that you will also find a bunch of other plant-based ingredients, like rosemary, lavender, rosewood, chamomile, licorice etc. The shampoo is supposed to cleanse your hair from impurities and yet act moisturizing on the hair. Also, the herbs should have a calming effect on the scalp. The conditioner also contains a bunch of plant-based ingredients. In contrast to the shampoo it contains 5 different oils to deeply moisturize and nourish the hair. The ingredients list states  for example shea butter, olive oil, and of course tsubaki oil...but also essential oils like mint, lavender, rosewood, etc.

SanDaWha Camellia Shampoo and Conditioner

The shampoo has a clear, slightly yellowish formulation with an herbal scent, which was actually not what I expected, but I loved the shampoo. It made the hair feel so clean and the scalp especially. The hair was fluffy and lightweight after washing the hair with the SanDaWha Camellia Shampoo. In terms of moisture I still needed to use the conditioner, because the moisturizing effect of the shampoo was not enough. The conditioner does a perfect job in that point. It has a creamy consistency and really makes the hair feel soft and hydrated. I tested these two products very thoroughly and the shampoo is already empty and the conditioner needs only some more days. I can definitely say that this combination doesn’t make your hair ultra sleek like the Tsubaki shampoo and conditioner from Shiseido. It makes them fluffy and light and clean...nevertheless, the conditioner really is a glow-booster for my hair. I see the difference in how the hair shines whether I use the conditioner together with the shampoo or I use the shampoo alone.

SanDaWha Camellia Shampoo and Conditioner

My final verdict is that I enjoyed the SanDaWha Camellia Shampoo and Conditioner. I already knew that Camellia really does the trick for my hair, but now I’ve been confirmed again. I love how the brand contains natural and eco certificated ingredients and so many plants and herbs, too. It is, in my eyes, a good alternative to the Shiseido Tsubaki Shampoo and worth a try, although it is also similarly expensive. At W2Beauty the set of shampoo and conditioner retails for 55 US$ (currently there is a SanDaWha brand sale of 40% and the set retails for only 33US$!).

You can also use these coupon codes until end of 2017 for a discount:

Review: Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers

19. September 2017

/ PR SAMPLE / NAILS / BEAUTY /

Since May Catrice released their new range of nail polishes: the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers! These newly formulated nail polishes come in 45 colours and promise to be staying up to 7 days without a top coat. I guess so far I never had a nail polish that really lasted for 7 days, so of course this calls for me to try my luck here:

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers

The Catrice ICONails are formulated with Acai Oil and give your nails a Gel Shine Finish and a long-lasting finish. The square bottles have a modern design with an edgy vibe. Below the main cap there is a second round cap with a brush attached. The length of the brush is very easy to handle and makes it easy to apply the nail polish in few strokes.

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers

I received 4 different and versatile colours from Catrice Cosmetics to try and test for their long-livity within the frame of their #ICONailsChallenge . Plus the one that I already had it makes 5 different colours from this line. Below you can see from left to right the following shades: #16 “Cloud Nine”, a light grey-blue, #05 “It’s All About That Red”, a classic red shade, #34 “The Berry First Time!”, a berry-pink shade, #11 “Go For Gold!”, a gold-metalic shade, and #21 “Want To Be My Bridesmaid?”, a white nail polish.

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers

For my test, I decided for the colour called “For The Berry First Time”, since I was on vacation during the test and pink was the perfect colour for the Caribbean vibes and beach.

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers

I applied only one layer of the nail polish and I was already amazed by the pigmentation of the colour. One coat is totally enough for this shade to look perfectly shiny and nice. I would say the colour looks exactly like out of the bottle. For the test I also didn’t use any top coat, since the nail polish is supposed to be long-lasting even without top coat. Below you can see an image of my nails on the first day:

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers

During the time I tested the nail polish I was in Mexico. This means I was wearing it through 30° C day and night, while I was at the beach, swimming, snorkeling, bicycling…etc. I really put this nail polish to its limits. And yet, below you can see the image after 5 days. Yes, there are some marks on the shiny coat of the nail polish, but still, altogether it looks still neat and has no chips. Starting from day 6 the heat and sand slowly started to make the polish fade after all.

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers

Despite the fact that the Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer started fading starting from day 6 I’m really amazed. My experience with nail polish and beach and sand is usually that it fades after 1-2 days. This nail polish lasted for 5 days perfectly neat and shiny on my nails without a top coat. Every other nail polish I own would have been melted away by that time. Also the pigmentation of the nail polish is really great for the pink colour I selected for the test. One layer of the nail polish was enough to make it look like a proper gel manicure.

The Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquers retail for 2.99€. For this affordable price I can only recommend you to grab the one or the other colour. Have you tried the ICONails already?
