Review: Skin Food Black Sugar Scrub Foam

Hey there ♥
How are you? This morning we had finally some sunshine in the morning. Hopefully spring arrives soon, I can’t stand this cold weather anymore. All this layers of clothes and dry skin…that’s awful!
In a previous post I showed you the first part of my ebay haul from February (the second part arrived and I will get the package today, yeah :D). One product I bought and tested a few days now is Skin Food’s Black Sugar Scrub Foam. I read several reviews on the Black Sugar Mask and also the scrub foam and most of them were really fond of these products, that is why I actually bought it.

The packaging is really adorable and somehow a little bit “shabby chic” you cold say. I like it a lot. The scrub foam comes in a tube standing on the cap. I would have preferred a pump, but it doesn’t make a big difference.

Here is the description of the product from Skin Foods website:
———————————————————————————————
The mineral-rich Brazilian black-sugar grains in the scrub foam smoothly cleanse off the old layer leaving your skin moist after washing.

* To Use
Take a moderate amount of the foam on a wet hand and lather it sufficiently. After massaging it over your face, rub gently, rinse off with tepid water then finish with cold water.
———————————————————————————————
The foam is not foamy when you push it out of the tube. It has a consistency like a mousse and contains peeling grains in it, which are probably the black sugar grains. It has no sweet smell as one would expect because of the word ‘sugar’ in the name, but it is fresh and somehow smells like lemons. If you apply it directly on your face and start scrubbing it will be very harsh on the face, so don’t forget to make your face and your hands wet before using.

The scrubbing is very efficient and generates foam on your skin. My skin is not very sensitive, so I can’t tell if it is too much irritating on sensitive skin, but in the end you can adjust the pressure by yourself if you want a more gentle massage instead of scrubbing. And now comes the part I liked most: after washing of the foam the skin does not feel smooth AND super dry, but it feels smooth and kind of moisturized. I didn’t have this kind of feeling with other scrubs I used and I was really happy about this!
A tube contains 160g and costs US$16.23 at W2Beauty. You’ll get a US$ 5 voucher upon registration using my link or the sponsor code 088505 and you can use it immediately for any purchase more than US$ 30.  Repurchase?Definitely ♥
