//PR SAMPLE/KBEAUTY/SKINCARE//

For all those Propolis lovers in skincare: today’s review is about the By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule. If you are curious about this product make sure to continue reading.

By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

Probably, you know that the Korean beauty retailer Wishtrend does not only sell other Korean brands but also has taken a step into the beauty industry itself. Apart from known brand names Klairs or Jungle Botanics they also have products named under the brand “By Wishtrend”. Well-known products from By Wishtrend are the Vitamin C 21.5 Advanced Serum, the TECA 1% Barrier Cream, the Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash, and the Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water. I reviewed all of the mentioned products before if you are interested in more details. The By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule is one of the products that I have used up most recently and enjoyed every bit of it.

By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

As the name of the By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule already states, propolis is the star ingredient of this ampoule. Propolis is a resinous mixture collected from barks of trees by bees to seal their chambers with the larvae. Propolis has antibacterial and antifungal properties and thus protects the larva, but this also makes it useful in skin care, especially for troubled skin, but it also has skin conditioning properties and makes your skin feel smooth. The propolis of this ampule is collected from the Auvergne volcanic region in France and it says to contain two types of polyphenols named Catchin and Quercetin. The polyphenols have antioxidative properties. The propolis makes 15% of the total ingredients. Other key ingredients are Houttuynia Cordata Extract (makes 59%), hyaluronic acid, and zinc PCA.

By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

The full ingredients are listed below:

Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Propolis Extract, Glycerin, Propanediol, Isopentyldiol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Panthenol, Perilla Frutescens Extract, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Lactobacillus Ferment, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Butylene Glycol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Betaine, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Zinc PCA, Pantolactone

The By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule is free from parabens, alcohol, sulfates, silicones, and EU allergens. Moreover, it is fungal acne safe. You can check the ingredients via Skincarisma, which I found always very helpful. Other noteworthy ingredients, apart from the ones I mentioned before, are witch hazel extract for soothing, panthenol, glycerin, and betaine for moisturizing and skin conditioning, and a bunch of plant-based ingredients. According to Wishtrend, the pH of the ampoule lies around 5.6 and the product is cruelty-free, too.

By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

This ampoule is perfectly suited for people with acne or irritations, or people with dry or aging skin. Propolis combines effects of anti-aging, soothing and hydration and is therefore perfectly suited for all of these concerns. The ampoule comes in a typical brown glass bottle with a dropper. The packaging design is simple but neat.

By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

The By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule has a light yellowish color and a consistency, that is characteristic of an ampoule. It is not runny as water, but thicker. It feels smooth when applying and absorbs nicely without stickiness. Moreover, it feels hydrating upon application. My skin drank up that ampoule fully and I loved it. I used it up so quickly and enjoyed it during day and night.

By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

I have tried other propolis serums before, like the COSRX Propolis Light Ampoule and the It’s Skin Power 10 Formula Propolis Ampoule. Out of these three, the By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule has been my favorite so far. It feels simply richer and more nourishing and I love the ingredients that are used here.

By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

The By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule retails for $32.00 from Wishtrend. This is the only downside I see since it is more expensive than the other propolis ampoules I tried. But Black Friday is almost here, and in general, Wishtrend has many specials and coupons all over the year for a proper discount. Check out my Coupons & Discount page for saving some bucks here. If you haven’t made any purchases on Wishtrend yet, you can also use my referral code C0D76CCE. You will get a 10% discount on your first purchase.

The By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule has my recommendation if you are looking for a good propolis ampoule. It has good ingredients, an enjoyable texture, and hydrating effect, and works well during the day and nighttime routines. Have you found your favorite propolis ampoule yet?

Review: Leaders Coconut Bio Mask

27. October 2019

//KBEAUTY/PR SAMPLE/SKINCARE//

This is my first review after a long time! I did take a long hiatus from blogging, but now I’m back with new energy and motivation. My review today is about the Leaders Coconut Bio Mask. Leaders Coconut Bio Masks

The Leaders Coconut Bio Mask comes in four versions, dedicated to various superfoods that are used as key ingredient. There are the versions with blueberry,  tomatoes, brokkoli, and orange. Each sheet mask is packed in a sachet with the key ingredient displayed . This makes the mask design very colorful and vibrant! I loved to take pictures of the sheet masks thanks to this beautiful design. If you go for the Coconut Bio Mask Special Set you will receive a box  that contains one of each kind. The masks are no cotton sheet masks, but instead they are naturally fermented coconut gel masks.

Orange is rich in Vitamin C, which has brightening effects and also acts as a mild exfoliator.  The mask is free from parabens, sulphates, alcohol, silicone and is EU allergen free (according to Skincarisma), too.

Leaders Coconut Bio Masks

I used all four Leaders Coconut Bio Masks very quickly because of several reasons: first of all, I love these biocellulose masks made from fermented coconut A LOT! they adhere perfectly to my skin and also fit greatly to my facial shape. In contrast to hydrogel masks that keep sliding off my face, and are torn very easily, these are so pleasant to use. You have to remove two layers of protective film though! The second reason why I loved these masks were that they make the skin feel smooth and hyddrated. It is hard to say which of these was my favorite though, because as you can see from comparing the ingredients, all the masks are similar, except of the key ingredient. I liked them all.  Also, it’s great that they are free from parabens, alcohol and sulphates. There are some fungal acne triggers though according to Skincarisma. I didn’t experience any irritations, but every person and skin type reacts in a different way. One downside for sensitive skin types is that the masks are not free from fragrances, and also the Orange mask can be too much for some skin types, because of the exfoliating effects of vitamin C. All in all, I’m very happy with my Leaders Coconut Bio Mask experience and I can definitely recommend you to try these. Especially, if you don’t like hydrogel masks, you can give these biocellulose masks a try instead!

Have you tried biocellulose masks, yet? What do think of these Leaders sheet masks?

Review: Dermalogica Prisma Protect

17. April 2019

//AD / PR SAMPLE / SKINCARE //

With summer approaching here in Europe, it is time to think about sun protection for many people. I’m a sunscreen believer, so I’m wearing sunscreen no matter what season it is. This is even more crucial if you have chemical exfoliants (AHA, BHA, PHA, Vitamin C…) in your skincare regimen. Here is one of my currently used sun protection products, the Dermalogica Prisma Protect SPF30.

Dermalogica Prisma Protect

Dermalogica is an American Personal Care company and their products are sold in more than 80 countries all over the world. This means that it is quite likely, that you have heard of this brand before. I have some of their products in my skincare rotation at the moment, and not so long ago I wrote a review for their Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum. So if you are looking for new Vitamin C serums by any chance, also take some time to stop by my review >>here<<.

Dermalogica Prisma Protect

Dermalogica Prisma Protect

The Dermalogica Prisma Protect is a light-activated multitasking product, combing moisturizer and sunscreen. It contains a broad spectrum high sun protection with SPF30. The product is designed for all skin types and helps to prevent damage and aging by protecting the skin from pollution and UV.

Dermalogica Prisma Protect

The sun protection ingredients used in this cream are Homosalate, Octocrylene, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, and Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane. Apart from these UV-Filters, the Dermalogica Prisma Protect also contains Vitamin E (Tocopherol and Tocopheryl acetate) for anti-aging properties. Other noteworthy ingredients are Ginger Root Oil, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract and Chlorella Vulgaris Extract.

Water/Aqua/Eau,  Homosalate, Octocrylene, Silica, Butylene Glycol, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane,  Coconut Alkanes,  Dimethicone, Glycerin, Dimethyl Capramide, Polyglyceryl-2 Stearate, VP/Eicosene  Copolymer, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Saccharide lsomerate, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Oil, Sclareolide, Tocopherol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Coco Caprylate/Caprate,  Glyceryl Stearate SE, PEG-100 Stearate, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Arachidyl Alcohol, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Behenyl Alcohol,  Benzyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Xanthan Gum, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Arachidyl Glucoside,  Ethylhexylglycerin,  Methicone, Sodium Hydroxide, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Caprylyl Glycol, Propanediol, Geraniol, Limonene, Citral, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate,  1,2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol.

The Dermalogica Prisma Protect is free from parabens, sulfates, and alcohol. Moreover, the product is cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny and PETA. It is vegan, no synthetic dyes or fragrances, and, if this isn’t enough, it is gluten-free, too.

Dermalogica Prisma Protect

Dermalogica Prisma Protect

The product itself comes in a plastic tube which was packed in a prism-shaped cardboard box. The signature design of the brand is typically white with the brand printed predominantly on the packaging. The Prima Protect Cream has a holographic cap and several holographic elements in addition to the simple design. This fits nicely to the idea of a light-activated product.

Dermalogica Prisma Protect

Dermalogica Prisma Protect

The tube contains 50 ml of product, which is a good size to start with. The tube squeezes easily and reveals a white cream. It is advised to apply the cream after your other skincare steps, and 30 minutes before sun exposure.

Dermalogica Prisma Protect

Dermalogica Prisma Protect

Dermalogica Prisma Protect

The cream has a herbal kind-of scent with a hint of ginger, which is not very dominant. The cream spreads well and leaves a subtle glow. It feels dry and not greasy, but still, it provides some moisture. I still need a moisturizer below this sunscreen though for my dry skin type, and I could not use this as moisturizer and sunscreen in one product. Moreover, SPF30 might not be high enough for summer, but for low sun exposure, it might be enough. I enjoy however the lightweight feeling on the skin and the way it absorbs quickly. Have you tried any products by Dermalogica? What do you think about the Dermalogica Prisma Protect? In my opinion, it’s a good product texturewise, but too expensive for the protection given and regarding daily use. For a multipurpose product, it does not give me enough hydration.

You can get the serum for 67€ from Dermalogica.

Review: Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

9. November 2018

//AD / PR SAMPLE / SKINCARE //

Long time, no Vitamin C Serum Review! But today it is time for a new Vitamin C Serum I have in use these days, the Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

Dermalogica is an American Personal Care company and their products are sold in more than 80 countries all over the world. that means that it is quite likely, that you have heard of this brand before.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

Vitamin C

Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) is always good to have in your skincare routine. I have tried a couple of serums in the past (check >>here<<). Vitamin C is an antioxidant and thus can prevent our skin from aging too early and from sun-damage. A high concentration of Vitamin C doesn’t mean automatically that it is more effective concerning anti-aging. Normally, a high concentration of Vitamin C aims at a visible effect, because it tends to operate as a chemical peeling by loosening dead and old cells. This is not a bad effect and stimulates the skin to regenerate itself, but keep in mind that it won’t affect the inner cell layers of your skin which have to be aimed if you really want an anti-aging effect. The thing about Vitamin C is, that it oxidizes with time, and you have to use it up very quickly. You will see as the color of some serums will get more yellowish with time. A possibility to prevent the vitamin C from oxidizing is to stabilize it with ferulic acid or vitamin E or use derivates. The Dermalogica Biolumin C Serum uses the approach of an ultra-stable Vitamin C Complex.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

According to the description that you find on the cardboard box of the product it says that the Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum is a high-performance serum that enhances the skin’s natural defense system. It acts brightening, firming and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Additionally, it is combined with AHA and peptide in enhancing its positive effects on the skin.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

The cardboard box also lists the ingredients of the serum on one side.

Water/Aqua/Eau, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Ethoxydiglycol, Lactic Acid, Salvia Hispanica (Chia) Seed Extract, Sodium PCA, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Sophora Japonica Flower Extract, Ascorbyl Methylsilanol Pectinate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopherol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Aminopropyl Ascorbyl Phosphate, Trehalose, Polyacrylate-13, Propanediol, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Polyisobutene, Methylpropanediol, Carrageenan, Pentylene Glycol, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Xanthan Gum, Polysorbate 20, Limonene, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol

The AHA used in the serum is Lactic Acid. You can also see how Vitamin C derivates have been combined with Vitamin E (Tocopherol). The product is free from paraben, sulfate, alcohol, and silicone. Also, it contains Hyaluronic Acid for hydration. Since it contains active ingredients that chemically peel your skin you should keep in mind to use sunscreen during day. This is also noted on the packaging information. I used the serum during my night routine, and yet I use sunscreen during the day.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

The serum comes in a bottle with a dropper as a cap. The bottle is opaque, which is great in case of Vitamin C. The bottle is made of glass by the way and seems to be sturdy.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

Upon opening you see that the serum has a milky texture with a light yellowish color. It has an orange scent, which is not very intense or heavy. The serum has a smooth feeling upon application and feels hydrating, too. It sinks quickly into the skin and leaves a tiny bit of tackiness.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

I used the serum every night for the last 3 weeks. I enjoyed using it and I had no negative experience regarding texture or irritated skin. The Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum works well with other products that are applied below or above the serum. I cannot say how it will work in combination with any makeup product though. What I definitely see is, that my skin is appearing more smooth and that my makeup gets less flakey these days. This is probably thanks to the combination of the AHA and VitaminC/E. I didn’t notice any big changes regarding wrinkles, but I don’t have very prominent ones either. I can confirm though, that the skin feels more glowy and plump.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

The Dermalogica Biolumon-C Serum was a positive surprise for me. It works nicely and combines some great and effective ingredients. I’m not sure, whether it will replace my all-time-favorite, the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop. Especially, since this serum is way pricier.

You can get the serum for 89€ from Dermalogica.

Review: Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

22. October 2018

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / AFFILIATE LINKS //

The search for good sunscreens that can be used on a daily basis and are also suited for the face and any follow-up makeup is always a big topic within the skincare community. Klairs, one of my favorite KBeauty brands had launched a sunscreen in the past, that was surprisingly disappointing, but now they released a new sunscreen, the Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence. You can imagine my curiosity for this product, and so I was more than happy to find this among my packages some weeks ago. Here is my opinion on this new product by Klairs:

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

Klairs is a Korean brand which is eco-friendly, producing products which are animal-testing-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free, artificial-color-free and recently they are vegan, too. Their products address people with sensitive skin and people who want to moisturize their skin. I reviewed some of their products before, like the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum (repurchased that one 4 times already!) or the Klairs Midnight Blue Cream, which both convinced me in their effects. Their saying “Simple but Enough” really nails it and I think that many people will agree on that point with me.

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

The Klairs Soft Airy UC Essence comes with SPF50+ PA ++++ and is a lightweight daily sunscreen that protects the skin from UVA and UVB. Thereby, it claims to leave no greasiness, nor a white cast. The broad spectrum sunscreen has a water-based gel-texture and comes in a (quite unusual) large tube containing 80ml. The design of the tube is simple, as expected for the brand. The tube is packed inside a cardboard box with the typical holographic design that you know from the Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask or the Vitamin C Drop.

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

As a general rule for sunscreens, you should apply the product ahead of sun exposure and reapply every now and then. There, every 3 hours is suggested for the Klairs Soft airy UV Essence.

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

The ingredients of the Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence are stated on the cardboard box, but you will also find the information on Wishtrend.

Water (Aqua), Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Butylene Glycol, Dibutyl Adipate, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Silica, Cetearyl Olivate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sorbitan Olivate, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Sorbitan Stearate, Panthenol, Beta-Glucan, Disodium EDTA, Citrus Junos Fruit Extract, Adenosine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopherol, Allantoin, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil

According to SkinCarisma, the product is free from parabens, sulfates, silicons, and alcohol. It is EU allergen free, too! The UV protection is realized by using Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate and Ethylhexyl Triazone. Moreover, there is Niacinamide for brightening and anti-aging included. Tocopherol (Vitamin E) and Adenosine have anti.aging properties, too. Panthenol and Hyaluronic Acid provide moisture and have soothing properties. The list of ingredients is neither very short, but not huge either.

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

For me personally, I love the larger size of the sunscreen. Usually, Korean sunscreens come with 50ml of volume. If you want to try out various sunscreens this is the perfect volume. But if you have found your current favorite you’ll have to repurchase very often. Also, the larger volume makes it suited to be used on the whole body, without emptying the tubes too quickly.

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

As you see below, the sunscreen has a milky-essence type texture and a slightly yellowish color. Upon application it is very watery and feels moisturizing and refreshing, on the other hand, it soaks in pretty quickly. Unlike other sunscreens, you need less time to pat it into the skin and there is definitely NO WHITE CAST! It feels so lightweight and no film or residue is left on the skin.

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

For me, the Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence has no specific scent, by the way. It has a cooling sensation when applied that lasts for a moment. I didn’t observe any tackiness or stickiness, and it was not irritating during the time I used the product.

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

I have a couple of sunscreens in my routine at the moment but there are only two that I really really love to use every day. The Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence is one of them, and I can only recommend it if you haven’t found your holy grail daily sun protection. You can buy the Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence from Wishtrend for 23 US$. Also, check out my page for Coupons and Discount, to save some bucks on your order. I have reviewed so many other products from the brand Klairs and I can say that this is one of my favorite Kbeauty brands with a great variety of products. Check out all my Klairs reviews >>here<<.

Have you tried any Klairs products? What do you think about this sunscreen?

Review: Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

10. October 2018

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / AFFILIATE LINKS //

Did you ever have any special opinion about Sea Buckthorn in skincare? Honestly, I never thought about it before I started trying the Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream. Usually, when I hear Sea Buckthorn I think about tea, winter, and herbal scents. But then I received this orange tube of facial cream from Purito and suddenly I was obsessed with it! Why? Let me explain!

Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

Purito is a rather young Korean brand with cruelty-free and 10-free skin care products. The products are free from paraben, ethanol, surfactants, artificial coloring, fragrance, triethanolamine, phthalein, triclosan, petrochemicals, and benzoyl peroxide. Moreover, the products gain a lot of popularity these days because of their short and yet effective ingredients list. I have reviewed the Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum and the Purito Snail Repair Advanced 91 Serum and my beloved Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pads before and there are more to come in future!

Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

The Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream is a nourishing moisturizer enriched with 70% Sea Buckthorn Fruit extract, highly concentrated with vitamins, and therefore the perfect brightening care for making dark and dull skin revitalized. The cream comes in a tube and contains 50ml of volume. Like all Purito skincare, the product comes packed in a cardboard box with all the relevant information. The design of Purito products is not especially cute or elaborate, but the products have a signature look and each skin care line has a defined color depending on the key ingredient. Here orange is the signature color.

Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

Sea Buckthorn

Hippophae Rhamnoides, also known as Sea Buckthorn or Sandthorn, is a plant commonly spread in Europe and Asia. It has been used in ancient Greek as an herbal remedy for skin diseases, digestive problems and as medicine. These days the plant is used and valued for many reasons. The Sea Buckthorn fruit is known to have a high content of vitamins, especially vitamin C. But it doesn’t end with vitamin C, the fruit extract also is rich in Vitamin E, D, E, and B. Additionally, it is rich in amino and fatty acids. All these components of the Sea Buckthorn Fruit extract act positively when applied topically on our skin. Vitamins prevent aging and have exfoliating properties. Fatty acids keep the skin hydrated, smooth, and resilient. This leads to glowy and brightened skin. With 70% Sea Buckthorn Fruit extracts this cream provides the skin with 2000mg Vitamin C, and that’s really amazing!

Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract (70%), Methlypropanediol, Glycerin, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Niacinamide, Polyglyceryl-3 Methyglucose Distearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Phenyl Trimethicone, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Citrus Unshiu Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Butylene Glycol, Adenosine, Panthenol, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Sorbitan Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, 1,2- Hexanedoil, Carbomer, Arginine, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA

When we look at the full list of ingredients of the Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream we will spot Orange Peel Oil and Satsuma Orange Extract as natural fragrances. The cream also has a wonderful fruity and orangy scent that is addictive and nothing like the artificial orange scents that remind you of bathroom cleansers. Then we have 4% Macadamia Seed Oil included in this cream for hydration. This is accompanied by glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and panthenol. Last, but not least, niacinamide for more brightening properties. According to SkinCarisma all the ingredients are safe to use according to EWG!

Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

The Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream has a mix between balm-type texture and gel texture. The color of the cream is light orange, and as I said before, it has a wonderful and very natural orange scent that reminds me of the moment you peel oranges. The cream spreads smoothly and feels nourishing and hydrating at the same time. I also feel like my skin feels moisturized all day and even after it is absorbed the skin will feel more bouncy. This cream doesn’t absorb fully and without a trace like for example the A;T Fox Tea Tock Water Cream, but will leave a feeling of a moisturized skin if you know how I mean the difference. I would describe the texture as suited better for dry skin types because it has a kind of richness to it.

Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

Inside of the cardboard box of the Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream, there is a cute comic describing the brightening effect of the cream with help of Snow White and the Evil Queen: the Queen wants to have smooth and bright skin like Snow White. According to the magical mirror of the Queen, this cream is supposed to be the solution for it. After having used half of the tube excessively I can confirm that this cream gives you the most wonderful glowy and bright skin! I’m so addicted to this moisturizer and it’s been a long time that I have used a cream so rigorously.

Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

Do you love orange scents? Are you looking for a cream that gives you ultra glow and bright skin, and is nourishing and hydrating at the same time? If yes, the Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream might be the perfect solution for you. Plus, a short ingredients list consisting mainly of Sea Buckthorn Fruit Extract and all EWG green level ingredients! Hands down, this is a perfect cream for me!

The tube retails for 19 US$ from the official page, but you can also get it from Beautytap for the same price (use the code BERRIES15 for 15% off non-sale products). Also, check out my discount and coupons page for the latest deals.

Review: Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

8. October 2018

// SKINCARE / KBEAUTY / AFFILIATE LINKS //

If you saw my latest empties post on Instagram you probably discovered the Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule in my picture there. Unfortunately, I used up the last drops of it and I’ve probably never been more sad about using up a serum or ampoule this time. This ampoule has probably been reviewed a lot of times before and there have been comparisons to another high-end brand night serum in the past. I have no comparison to other products here, only my honest review about using this serum in the last months.

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

The Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule is from the famous Korean brand Missha. Missha has a lot of online stores all over the world and are available in US/Canada, Australia and even in Germany. It was the first Korean brand with a physical store in Germany, too! The products always come in a very mature and luxurious packaging and the design is usually very elegant although simple. I think that it can be liked by almost everyone. The aim of Missha is to create quality products that are affordable.

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

The Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule is directed towards anti-aging and brightening, using purple botanical ingredients like blueberries, aronia, beets, red cabbage, and purple carrots and combining these with lactic acid fermentation ingredients. It’s a powerful ampoule designed for nighttime use, making the skin smoother, firmer, revitalized, and stronger.

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

The ampoule comes in a signature purple color that refers to the purple plant ingredients used. The elegant glass bottle with an attached dropper comes packed in a cardboard box of the same color and design. The packaging looks timeless and elegant!

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

The ingredients list of this highly concentrated ampoule might put you off at first glance, but don’t fear the long list. The ingredients are very beneficial and combine a lot of goodness!

Water, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Glycereth-26, Juniperus Chinensis Xylem Extract, Sorbus Commixta Extract, Bis-Peg-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Betaine, Leuconostoc Ferment Filtrate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Ethyl Hexanediol, Dimethicone, Grifola Frondosa (Maitake)/Ophioglossum Vulgatum Extract Ferment Filtrate, Peg-11 Methyl Ether Dimethicone, Peg-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ppg-26-Buteth-26, Polysorbate 20, Carbomer, Glyceryl Caprylate, Triethanolamine, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Hydrolyzed Rice Extract, Lactobacillus/Rice Ferment Filtrate, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Sea Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Octyldodecanol, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Oleosomes, Acacia Arabica Stem Bark Extract, Hydrolyzed Extensin, Adenosine, Xanthan Gum, Aronia Arbutifolia Extract, Beta Vulgaris (Beet) Root Extract, Brassica Oleracea Capitata (Cabbage) Leaf Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Dipropylene Glycol, Echium Plantagineum Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Cyclomethicone, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Disodium Edta, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Cassia Alata Leaf Extract, Dextrin, Lactobacillus Ferment, Lactococcus Ferment Lysate, Laminaria Digitata Extract, Manilkara Multinervis Leaf Extract, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Extract, Lauryl Methacrylate/Glycol Dimethacrylate Crosspolymer, Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate, Lactobacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Saccharomyces/Viscum Album (Mistletoe) Ferment Extract, Yeast Ferment Extract, Pogostemon Cablin Oil, Dimethiconol, Cardiospermum Halicacabum Flower/Leaf/Vine Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil Unsaponifiables, Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract, Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Beta-Sitosterol, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Propylene Glycol, Cholesterol, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Ceteth-24, Choleth-24, Glyceryl Arachidonate, Glyceryl Linoleate, Glyceryl Linolenate, Ubiquinone, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Maltodextrin Crosspolymer, Cetyl Phosphate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Retinol, Lecithin, Phenoxyethanol, Cucumis Melo (Melon) Fruit Extract, Amaranthus Caudatus Seed Extract, Biotin, Brassica Campestris (Rapeseed) Sterol, Peg-5 Rapeseed Sterol, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Tripeptide-10 Citrulline, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Bht, Ceteth-3, Ceteth-5, Copper Tripeptide-1, Silica, Tripeptide-1

First of all, according to SkinCarisma the Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule is free from parabens, sulfates, alcohol, and EU-allergens. The ingredients are safe to use, and there is only one ingredient that could be irritating for sensitive skin types. This ingredient is Retinol! So if you have been looking for effective anti-aging ingredients you will have stumbled upon Retinol. Retinol, or Vitamin A, can cause skin reactions, including peeling, redness, scaling, itching, and burning, and also increases the risk of sunburns and sun-induced mutations. Although retinol is a great anti-aging ingredient you have to keep these points in mind and use sunscreen during the day to protect your skin from the UV rays to avoid its side effects. I guess the percentage of retinol in this ampoule is very low, but still, you should keep in mind to use sunscreen during the day while using ingredients that have these kinds of chemical peeling properties.

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

Most of the ingredients of the Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule have moisturizing properties and are perfect for hydrating the skin. Panthenol, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or chamomile extract are some of these ingredients. The latter is also a great soothing ingredient, while panthenol and hyaluronic acid also have wound-healing properties. Other ingredients like niacinamide, vitamin C derivates, adenosine, and retinol have brightening and anti-aging properties. Additionally, there are four different kinds of ferments included, combining Lactobacillus, Bifida, Lactococcus, and Leuconostoc! I love Fermented ingredients! Ferment filtrates have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial activity when applied in concentrations of 5% or more. They have skin conditioning properties, are nutrient-rich, and contains many vitamins, amino acids, and proteins and helps to improve the moisture level of the skin.

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

In order to use the product you take out the ampoule and dispense the desired amount into your palms and apply it to your skin. The best way is, of course, working upwards and outwards along your facial features. The warmth of your hand will help the ampoule to sink into your skin. I used this product as the last step before my sleeping mask or night cream. In the next morning, I’ve always used a sunscreen. The attached dropper makes it easy to dispense the product. since it is a glass dropper you can see the slightly red/orange colored ampoule. The serum absorbs fast and glides easily across the skin. It doesn’t feel heavy, despite all the ingredients included.

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

 In my opinion, this ampoule really makes the skin feel smoother, hydrated, and more firm. I loved the effects in the next morning. The only downside is probably the price, sometimes 50ml are sold for around 40US$ or more. The second point is (I don’t know if that is a downside though) that Missha constantly has new formulations of their products, especially for this ampoule and the Missha Time Revolution First Essence. This can be irritating and makes it sometimes complicated to read the proper review for it. If you love to have one concentrated product that combines many beneficial ingredients in one you will love this ampoule. If you rather prefer a highly moisturizing serum, without any fuss, you can more likely switch to a serum or ampoule with a high concentration of hyaluronic acid and achieve satisfying results as well. I personally love the extra smoothness of the ferments here, and all these good anti-oxidants from the purple plants.

asian cosmetics beauty PR Sample Purito review

Review: Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad

9. August 2018

// PR SAMPLE / SKINCARE / KBEAUTY //

I’ve started to love these kinds of milder peeling pads, like the Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad here. I’ve received this wonderful product from Purito some while ago and I’ve been testing and including it in my skincare routine since then. This mild peeling pad, as the name already suggests, is perfectly suited if you are looking for something less irritating than AHA Peelings, but still effective enough to help to remove dead skin cells and make your skin clearer.

Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad

Purito is a rather young Korean brand with cruelty-free and 10-free skin care products. The products are free from paraben, ethanol, surfactants, artificial coloring, fragrance, triethanolamine, phthalein, triclosan, petrochemicals, and benzoyl peroxide. Moreover, the products gain a lot of popularity these days because of their short and yet effective ingredients list. I have reviewed the Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum and the Purito Snail Repair Advanced 91 Serum before and there are more to come in future!

Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad

The Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad is a product designed for removing excess dirt and dead cells from the face after cleansing. Using 10% Centella Asiatica Extract as a key ingredient. This rich extract contains Asiaticosides, Asiatic acid and Madecassic acid and acts as mild BHA (beta hydroxy acid). Other BHAs mostly used are salicylic acids, but they can be too harsh for people with sensitive skin types.

Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad

Like most peeling pads the Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad comes in a jar. The design is typical for Purito and kept simple, with signature colors of green for the Centella skincare range the brand offers. The plastic jar comes packed in a cardboard box, which provides you with the directions and ingredients. Additionally, there are plastic tweezers included, so you can take out the pads without contaminating the inside of the jar. Using the tweezers is a bit tricky though since the pads are sticking together due to the soaked essence.

Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad

Let’s take a look at our star ingredient first:

Centella Asiatica

Centella Asiatica extracts have been used in traditional medicine and are still used today, having beneficial properties like wound-healing. Scientific studies have shown that continuous application of the extract can promote collagen building, act anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidative. The purified extract of Centella Asiatica is called TECA. It is a standardized extract composed of Asiaticoside, Asiatic acid and Madecassic acid. It is used in skin care targeting wound-healing, scarred skin, sensitive skin, but also seems to be effective on cellulite. I’m not sure if TECA is used here, or only a high concentration of Centella Asiatica extract, but we find these three components in this pad here, too! Asiatic Acid strengthens the skin barrier, has anti-oxidative properties, and calms sensitive skin. Asiaticosides control the oil-water balance and help to build up collagen. Madecassic acid helps to repair damaged skin and reduces scars and marks due to its exfoliating effect.

Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad

The full ingredients list is not very long and you can check out information on all the components via SkinCarisma, too.

Ingredients: Water, Centella Asiatica Extract, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, 1,2- Hexanediol, Betaine, Betaine Salicylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Arginine, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Allantoin, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Panthenol, Polyglyceryl-10 Myristate, Caprylyl Glycol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Disodium EDTA, Melaleuca Alternifolia(Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid.

As you see, there are some more ingredients that I can mention: there are hyaluronic acid, panthenol and glycerin included, for providing moisture and wound-healing. Licorice Root Extract has a brightening and anti-inflammatory properties, and tea tree leaf oil and betaine salicylate also have acne-fighting properties.

Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad

The Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad are cotton-type pads with two sides. The jar contains 70 pieces in total.

Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad

One side of the pad is structured and the other side is smooth. The structured side is suitable for areas with a higher sebum secretion like T-Zone. It removes makeup residues, sebum, oil, and exfoliates the skin.

Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad

The smooth side is suitable for cheeks, neck, etc, where the skin is more fragile. It can be used to calm down the skin, provided moisture, and even can be used to remove smudged eye makeup carefully or to smooth lips.

Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad

How to use the pads?

I usually use them after cleansing my face on my dried skin. I first use the structured side of the pad, and you will directly see that it removes even more dirt, even though you cleansed properly. The I use the soft side of the pad. Another way, how I use this pad is in the mornings. Sometimes, when I did a very thorough cleansing the evening before I only use water to wash my face. After that, I use this pad and it works perfectly without stressing the skin too much. I must say, that I also really like the official Purito page, where they list all the ways how you can use the pad. It can even be used on your body, or before reapplying makeup!

Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad

The Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pad is definitely a great product. It works well in my skincare routine and helps to prevent irritations. Additionally, it cleans the skin even more thorough and smoothes it with mild exfoliation. The ingredients are really nice too, and 70 pads really last you some while, especially if you are using different products in a rotation like me. I try not to use any other exfoliating skincare products in combination with this pad. The jar retails for 22 US$ from the official page, but you can also get it from Beautytap for the same price. Also, check out my discount and coupons page for the latest deals.

If you are interested in another product using Centella Asiatica Extract I can recommend the By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream by the way. If you are curious about it you can head over to my review >>here<<.

Review: Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner (Unscented Version)

21. May 2018

// KBEAUTY / SKINCARE / PR SAMPLE //

There are two Korean Toners that I absolutely love and recommend every time someone asks me: one is the Whamisa Organic Flowers Deep Rich Toner, and the other one is the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner! Even more was I excited the moment that Klairs announced that their toner will now be available in an unscented version, too. So, this is for everyone with sensitive skin who has been waiting for a version without essential oils, the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner Unscented Version:

Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner

Klairs is a Korean brand which is eco-friendly, producing products which are animal-testing-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free, artificial-color-free and recently they are vegan, too. Their products address people with sensitive skin and people who want to moisturize their skin. I reviewed some of their products before, like the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum (repurchased that one 4 times already!) or the Klairs Midnight Blue Cream, which both convinced me in their effects. Their saying “Simple but Enough” really nails it and I think that many people will agree in that point with me.

Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner

The Klairs Supple Preparation Toner is your first step to a moisturized and rejuvenated skin every day. It is non-irritant, balances the pH level of the skin, and acts calming and soothing. As all toners, this toner is designed to be used directly after cleansing the skin. It gives it first hydration and helps the skin to be prepared for the following skincare steps. The Klairs Supple Preparation Toner in both the regular version, and the unscented version, comes in a plastic bottle containing 180ml. The bottle is supposed to last for 1-2 month according to the description.

Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner

The only difference between the regular version and the unscented version is that the unscented version has all the essential oils removed from the ingredients. These essential oils give the regular version its signature scent, but there are people with sensitive skin types that react to the present of essential oils in skincare. The colors of the bottles and packaging are also different: the unscented version has a clear bottle with a purple label whereas the regular version comes in a brown colored bottle with beige label.

Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner

Here are the ingredients of the toner:

Water, Butylene Glycol, Dimethyl Sulfone, Betaine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Natto Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium EDTA, Centella Asiatica Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Polyquaternium-51, Chlorphenesin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carbomer, Panthenol, Arginine, Luffa Cylindrica Fruit/Leaf/Stem Extract, Beta-Glucan, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Portulaca, Oleracea Extract, Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Copper Tripeptide-1

You can spot some known plant-based ingredients like licorice root extract (brightening and acne fighting), centella asiatica and panthenol (wound-healing), but also hyaluronic acid (moisture), and aloe extract (soothing). You can check the ingredients via Skincarisma

Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner

The toner has a clear toner and has a jelly like formula, which is less runny than water. It tends to absorb very quickly and leaves the impression of the skin ‘drinking’ the product.

Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner

Despite absorbing quickly it leaves a nice and moist glow on the skin, but is not feeling sticky!

Klairs Supple Preperation Facial Toner

I can still confirm that I love the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner and I love how this unscented version of it also gives sensitive skintype people a chance to try this wonderful product by leaving out the essential oils. If you have not tried this toner yet I can totally recommend you to do so in future, especially if you are a Kbeauty lover. You can buy the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner in the regular and unscented version from Wishtrend for 21.99 US$. Also check out my page for Coupons and Discount, so safe some bucks o your order. I also have reviewed so many other products from the brand Klairs and I can say that this is one of my favourite Kbeauty brands with great products. Check out all my Klairs reviews >>here<<.

//PR SAMPLE/ UNBOXING/ BEAUTY //

It’s spring, and this means it is time for another InStyle Box! The InStyle box has become one of my favourite subscription boxes, for several reasons: first, it is not a monthly box, so you have enough time to use up the products that you receive. I received the InStyle Box Spring 2018 for reviewing purpose and here is what’s inside:
