Review: Too Cool For School McGirly Good Morning Rice Wash

9. April 2014
It really took me long to write up a review on Too Cool For School’s McGirly Good Morning Rice Wash. First of all, it took me ages to start using it after I bought it. Then I finally did use it, took some pictures, but since then it remained unnoticed in my folder with the unreviewed photos.

The Too Cool For School McGirly Good Morning Rice Wash came in three sachets, each of them containing 2 g of the rice wash powder. I don’t know if it is available in larger quantities than three. For using it you have to pour the powder into a bowl with clean, lukewarm water. Mix it a bit until it is dissolved and the water will turn milky. This does sound a bit complicated for an application in the morning and this was also the reason why it took me so long to review it :D
Honestly speaking, I was a bit underwhelmed by this powder wash. It is not a real cleanser, and I would not recommend to try to clean makeup with it. I think this is nice for people with sensitive skin. If you have cleaned your face in the evening thoroughly, you could go for this face wash in the morning. It is mild, smells nice and feels refreshing. But other than that it does not really work for me. It is too complicated to use in the morning. Also, I don’t think that this will brighten up your skin tone anyway. On the other hand, if you are a person having a lot of time in the morning you might enjoy this step and look at it as a kind of pre-toning your skin.
You can buy 3 sachets at testerkorea.com for 1500 Won (around 1.5 US$). It is not that expensive if you wanna give it a try. The shipping costs depend on weight.

Review: Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Lost Identity Lip Crayon in Lost in Hawaii

12. March 2014
Another lip crayon I’ve tested in the last time. Actually, I wanted to review it looong time ago, but then I decided to review some skincare products first, because back then I was only reviewing lip products XD. This review will be about Too Cool For School’s Dinoplatz Lost Identity Lip Crayon No. 2 called “Lost in Hawaii”.

As you can see, it has a very special product design. I absolutely love the creativity of the packaging. The crayon is packed inside a paper roll with super nice illustrations all over. And it continues inside the paper roll as well. ♥

The TCFS Dinoplatz Lost Identity Lip Crayons are available in three shades. A pink shade called “Lost in You”, an orange shade called “Lost in Hawaii” (This is what I bought) and a mint colored one called “Lost in Dinoplatz”, which is a color changing lip crayon. You can look up the ingredients and the promotional pictures on TCFS’s web page >>here<<.

The lip crayon has a transparent plastic cap and works by twist-up mechanism. This is the most convenient way for lip crayons in my opinion, because you don’t need an extra sharpener. The design of the crayon shows the same illustrations as the paper packaging.
When swatched on the hand, you’ll see, that the color of the crayon is not as pigmented as the crayon itself looks like. It gives a nice orange glow and has a smooth feeling, comparable to a lip balm. If you are looking for a highly pigmented crayon these crayons won’t satisfy your needs, but if you are looking for a natural hint of color these might suit you. Since my lips are quite “dark” the color doesn’t show on my lips like in the promotional pictures. It just gives a hint of orange, which is nice nevertheless. I couldn’t capture the color on my lips unfortunately, so I will only show you a swatch on my hand:
It really glides smoothly on the skin and you can see the shine it provides. This is a very pleasant light crayon in my eyes. It has a very light fruity-citrus scent, but I could only smell it, if holding the crayon directly under my nose. The pros for this crayon are definitively the design, packaging and the natural look it creates. I love to use it when I’m in a hurry and I just want a tiny bit of orange color on my lips :D But unfortunately it also comes with one downside: Since the color is brighter than most of our lips naturally are, it will show off any dry patches or flakes on your lips, so you have to exfoliate your lips regularly, or live with that fact.
You can buy this crayon at www.testerkorea.com for around US$ 11 (shipping depends on weight).

Review: Too Cool For School Art Class Blusher Peach

24. May 2013
I recently started to have a closer look at “Too Cool For School” products and while doing I fell in love with one of their products directly: The Art Class Blusher! The design was totally appalling to me, since I love arts and I love lovely designed cosmetics. Now here I’ve got both: an individual design and art, somehow :D

I discovered twofacemall’s web store on the same time and I saw that they were running some Too Cool For School items, but this one wasn’t part of it. I wrote them an email and surprisingly I got an answer after 15 minutes :D and suddenly I could buy the art class blusher! I got two samples of Etude House Collagen Moistfull Eye Cream and one Jeju Volcanic Nose Pack from Innisfree. Also, shipping was reliable and took exactly 10 days!

Here is the description for my Art Class lusher in color peach taken from too cool for school’s web page:

#1 Pink] 9g

#2 Peach] 9g
Dimethicone Cyclopentasiloxane Cyclohexasiloxane Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer Tribehenin Mica (CI 77019) Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate Diisostearyl Malate Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891) C30-45 Alkyl Methicone C30-45 Olefin Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate Iron Oxides (CI 77492) Silica Iron Oxides (CI 77491) Red 6 (CI 15850) Caprylyl Glycol Squalane Sambucus Nigra Fruit Extract Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Fruit Extract Water Propylene Glycol Glycerin Arctostaphylos Uva Ursi Leaf Extract Sorbitol Phenoxyethanol PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil Hydroxyethylcellulose Methylparaben Propylparaben Butylparaben Isobutylparaben

The packaging is recycled paper and has a sketch of the blusher tube on it. It looks really neat in my eyes. I ordered the blush in peach, because my other two blushes I use at the moment are both pink/red shades. I was hoping for a nice everyday blush which is not too colorful…
Now, this blush comes in a little metal tube with a plastic screw cap.I was surprised, that it is so tiny, but after I discovered how much product you need (or should I say how few?!) I’m in the opinion that this tube will last for quite a long time despite it’s size.
The color resembles the color tag on the packaging perfectly. Also the consistency is smooth and like a mousse. The pigmentation is not too strong so you won’t end up like a clown if you put too much. It is nicely blendable and also the color is buildable. All in all, I really love it and I’m happy about my choice. I might even try out the other shade ♥
This one costs US$ 16.50 at twofacemall.
Since I have a presentation coming up on Tuesday I won’t be doing any posts until Wednesday or Thursday. Hope you don’t mind and keep on reading. You can still join my mini giveaway for the Avène Thermal Water Spray :) ♥ >>here<< ♥
