The Blush Addict Tag

I would never have considered myself as a blush addict since I have way more lip products than blushes, but after being nominated by KimKine (please do check out her wonderful blog!) I discovered that I have a bunch of blushes and for people with only one or two this might already be considered as an addict. Hopefully, you will enjoy my collection of blushes, although most of them are no high-end blushes and most shades are similar :’D

1. What colour blush suits you the most?

I like rose shades, but I think coral/peachy shades suit me most…

2. Pressed/cream/loose blush?

I like cream blushes because it is so easy to use them on the go. Most of my blushes are pressed blushes though.

3. Favourite shimmery blush?

Usually I don’t buy any shimmery blushes. But my favourite of the two I own is the Etude House Princess Happy Ending Rose Cheek Blusher.

4. Favourite matte blush?

At the moment it is Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher in shade #11, before it was Bellapiere Mineral Blush Desert Rose.

5. Favourite cream blush?

Skinfood Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher and 3CE Creamy Cheek Stick

6. Favourite drugstore blush?

I used to buy the Manhattan Cream Blusher regulary, when I only used and owned one single blush.

7. Favourite high-end blush?

My only higher-end blush is the Benefit Dandelion Blush which is part of my Benefit Feelin’ Dandy Kit.

8. Favourite bright blush?

I don’t have any bright blushes. the brightest would be 1028 Visual Therapy Muse Powder Blush.

9. Biggest blush disappointment/regret?

Holika Holika Love Fantasy Blusher. It is so pretty, but the lid doesn’t close properly and it largely depends on the brush you use whether the pigmentation is visible or not.

10. Best blush packaging?

Etude House usually does a great job in packaging, so I’m very easily tempted to buy them. I’m still lusting for Canmake blushes because they look super pretty, too, but I didn’t try any yet.

11. What’s on your blush wish list?

Canmake blushes are on my wishlist. And the famous NARS Orgasm Blush is something I would love to try. Kiko also launched a new ollection with some beatiful cream blush colors.

12. Number 1 holy grail blush?

I don’t have a real holy grail blush yet, but I was positively surprised by the Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher, because I didn’t expected it to be too good. It is one of my most used blushes at the moment.

Review: Max Factor Pastell Compact Blush

Today, I have a western makeup product review for you. I received the Max Faktor Pastell Compact Blush (or also known as Max Factor Cream Puff Blush) with the German drugstore beauty box “Schön Für Mich-Box” from Rossmann. I saw these blushes previously in various drugstores and since I don’t have a marbled blush yet I was especially intrigued to try them. The shade I received with the mentioned beauty box is “seductive pink”. Since this is my favourite and almost daily used blush at the moment I thought about a quick review here:

Max Factor Pastell Compact Blush

Most of you will know the brand Max Factor, a makeup brand by P&G. Max Factor, the founder of the brand, was a make-up artist who worked with former Hollywood icons like Ava Gardner, Jean Harlow and Marlene Dietrich back in the 10th century making the brand one of the oldest widely and worldwide known makeup brands. The Max Factor Pastell Compact Blush is available in 6 different shades. Each blush is composed of two colors and is pressed into a beautiful marbled blush as you can see for “seductive pink”. The marbled surface was the main reason I was attracted by this blush. It makes the tiny container look really beautiful. The golden and black packaging gives an elegant edge to the whole product.

Max Factor Pastell Compact Blush

The description from Max Factor says:

“Sometimes, a subtle flush of colour is the look you’re after; other times, a more striking contoured finish is what you want. New creme puff blush is perfect for creating both, and everything in between thanks to its easy-to-build formula.

  • Multi-tonal pigments work with your skintone
  • Finely milled, marbled finish
  • Controllable formula allows you to build colour as required.
  • Ultra blendable – no visible blush lines”

And I can confirm all the points mentioned above. By swirling a brush over the blush you will get a perfect mix of the two tines in the blush. The application is very easy and leaves a nice color with a slight sheen on your cheeks. The color is buildable, too, but I think a light brushing already gives you a nice a visible pop of color.

Max Factor Pastell Compact Blush

As I said at the beginning of this post: I’m in love with this blush and with the color. It is daily wearable and fits to my skintone. It is easy to use and longlasting, too, and the marbled appearance is beautiful! Most of all the prize lies at 8.50 € and it is available in most drugstores even here in Germany. If you have a chance to try them I can recommend you to do so! Did you try any marbled blushes? Do you have a favourite brand? I heard good things about the Hourglas mnarbled blushes, too.

Unboxing: Rossmann Schön für Mich Beauty Box May

A few days ago I posted on Instagram that I received the Rossmann Schön für Mich Beauty Box for May, which is a monthly beauty box by the German drugstore company Rossmann. The beauty box contains some of the Rossmann beauty brands, but also other known drugstore brands.

I must say that I love the beautiful packaging of the box. It fits nicely to the month and the feeling of spring and summer. I will definitively keep the box for storing some of my makeup products (I’m working hard to get rid of all the products I’ve hoarded, but somehow there are always new products I’m intrigued to try :’D).

Similar to other beauty boxes, you’ll find a product description card inside. It is beautifully wrapped with a pink ribbon.

I was surprised how heavy the box was, but a glance at the product description card revealed, that this beauty box was filled with really a lot of products! Considering the price of 5 € this is really amazing!

And even more surprising was, that all the items were fullsized products! The first thing I saw, were the two new Nivea creams I spotted during my last visit of a local drugstore. I even had the new Nivea Care Face and Body cream in my hand and was thinking about buying it that day. Luckily, I didn’t, since I can now try it anyways :D Another item I was thinking about buying recently was the Max Factor Pastell Compact Blush, which is included in this box, too!

Here are the products I received with the Rossmann Schön für Mich beauty box May:

Isana young cleansing line

Isana was named Synergen before. This is a drugstore brand by Rossmann. The box contained a cleansing water, a softpeeling, cleansing tissues and an eye makeup removing cleansing gel. The product line has a light pink color and reminds of Johnson & Johnson’s beauty products (called “bebe” in Germany). I’m looking forward to try the eye-makeup-removing cleansing gel especially.

Nivea Men cream

This is the men’s version of the widely known Nivea cream. It comes in a dark blue tin to look more appaling to men and has a more man- and aftershave-ish scent. The consistency is less thick than the Nivea cream and not that greasy.

Nivea Care face and body cream

This new version of the Nivea cream is a simple but effective moisturizing cream and suited for body and face. It absorbs faster and is less greasy than the standard Nivea cream. Is anyone interested in a comparison?

Essence perfume #mymessage-luck

There are different versions of this perfume in the may boxes. My version displays a clover and is called “luck”. A sweet-fresh but light scent.

bebe Young Care (Johnson’s) Smoothie Shower Gel

The card says the box contains a body lotion, but I received a shower gel. I think the boxes either contain the body lotion or the shower gel. Nevermind, the scent is amazing! And I was curious about this new line before anyways.

Palmolive Aroma Sensations Feel Glamorous Shower Gel Peeling

This is a shower gel and a peeling on the same time. The scent is fruity and really perfect for spring and summer. And peeling your body is important, too. I cannot wait to try this today :)

Max Factor Pastell Compact Blush

This pretty blush in shade “seductive pink” is my favourite blush at the moment. It looks like a natural warm pink color on my cheeks and is a perfect daily useable blush.

I’m super happy about this box and I think that it contains great value for a fair price. If you love drugstore brands, you will like the Rossmann Schön für Mich beauty boxes, too. The boxes each month are limited though and they are raffling each month to select the persons who will be able to get it. For more information check out facebook.
