Review: Etude House Color Lips-fit

8. January 2015

I showed you previously the products I received from the Honestskin Special Gift Event and the Etude House Color Lips-fit was one of the products I received. This liquid lipstick line from Etude House was released in summer 2014. I’ve been curious to try it since then, but I had too many lipsticks around and moreover I wasn’t sure if I would like the matte texture, which it is supposed to provide. Here is my impression on the Etude House Color Lips-fit:

EH_ColorLipsFit_1

Some words about Etude House to start with: Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover of cute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adoreable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging…Also here, the packaging design looks lovely. You’ll find dots and bows and stars all over the packaging. The color of the cardboard packaging is pink, of course. There are 7 shades available for the Color Lips-fot, plus a glossy top coat, if you prefer a glossy finish instead of a matte one. I received shade OR201 called “Dream Fit Coral”. I rarely buy light shades myself, because it usually lookd awkward on me, if it is not even and opaque enough, because my natural lip color is darker. I was especially curious, having received this shade, how it will turn out on my lips.

EH_ColorLipsFit_2

The cardboard packaging contains descriptions in Korean and English. Since Etude House has opened also an online worldwide store, you’ll also find the English description there, plus the ingredients for the products. According to COSDNA the ingredients of the product are safe. It even contains titanium dioxide as sunprotection.

EH_ColorLipsFit_3

The bottle itself has a beautiful design, too, with the same stars, bows and dots as the cardboard packaging. It is a see-through plastic bottle, so you see the color of your liquid lipstick. As you can see in my images, the color looks a bit uneven in the bottle. Keep in mind to shake the bottle before you use it. It contains 10 g of product and comes with a white cap with an attached angled applicator sponge.

EH_ColorLipsFit_4

The product itself feels soft and smooth while applying. It dries off to a matte product after a while and feels velvety on the lips. It is not transfer proof, unfortunately, and smears off easily, as you can see in my swatches below.

EH_ColorLipsFit_5

Since it is a bright color is is unforgivable to dry lips and it will settle in all your lip lines and make the product look patchy. This makes it difficult to apply an even and oaque layer. If you have pigmented lips the challenge will be harder. I’ll show you the Etude House Color Lips-fit on my lips below. It is a very bright coral shade, almost neonlike…definitively a summer color.

EH_ColorLipsFit_6

Since it is not smear or transfer proof it is also not long-lasting. It wears off very quickly and in the case of this shades also leaves a ugly stain on the borders of your lips, which I don’t like at all. If you have brighter lips naturally, the effect might be different on you, but if you have darker lips than this color it will not look very nice. I’d love to try a darker shade to compare, but for the moment I personally would not rebuy the Etude House Color Lips-fit. Apart from the color, the short staying power and the feeling of dry lips after half an hour puts me off. The velvet finish on the other site is a nice one and also the texture glides smoothly on the lips while applying. You can buy this product from honestskin for 6.71 US$, which is agood value. Shipping depends on the amount of products you buy. Oh, another thing, you will get some points when you register on their page, and you can also collect more points for doing reviews of the product on their. These points can be spent as money for your future order. Check out about this >>here<<.

Review: Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly Tint Bar

2. December 2014

I had pretty dry lips the last days and so I started to use my lip balms again. One of these is the Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly Tint Bar. This lip balm is supposed to give you lucious, jelly lips and moisturize and smoothen them on the same time.

Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly Tint Bar

Holika Holika is a korean brand with a magic like brand image. The products are designed to look pretty, and magical in their way. The Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly Tint Bar doesn’t look very magical, but rather simple. The color of the packaging is a pale blue and has pink lettering. Actually, there is nothing special about the packaging :D It is simple, but with some color. There are three shades available: Cherry Kiss (No.1), Orange Kiss (No.2) and Pink Plumping (No.3). I own the Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly Tint Bar in shade Cherry Kiss .

Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly Tint Bar

The color of the bullet is a cherry red shade with small shimmer particles within. It has a subtle fruity sweet scent. According to the description I hoped that it will give a super glossy and moist finish, but the bullet is really hard and I don’t have the feeling that it really melts on my lips in order to moisturize them. But on the other hand, it feels somehow cooling and gives them a slight shine. The color is not really visible or anything. Basically, it has a very pale pink color, almost clear. Luckily, the shimmer particles aren’t too obvious either. The ingredients are good according to COSDNA. It even contains a UV-A and UV-B protection which is always useful.

Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly Tint Bar

All in all, this lipbalm is nothing special. It doesn’t hold up to its claim to be a jelly tint bar, because the consistency of the product doesn’t melt away nicely. It gives a light sheen to your lips and has a cooling effect, but other than this, I don’t think that it is worth so much money (there are lip bars which are much cheaper and more creamy). The Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly Tint Bar contains 3.5 g and retails for around 11 US$. Did anybody try these?

Review: Rosemine Plumpy Tint Roseberry

19. November 2014

When I received my MeMeBox Rose Scentbox I was especially happy about two products from the brand Rosemine, one foam cleanser and the Rosemine Plumpy Tint I’ll show you here. Both have an adorable packaging and lovers of floral design will be more than happy about the appearance of these products. By the way, the Rosemine Foam Cleanser will be reviewed soon, too, which became a member of my daily skincare routine product family. :)

Rosemine Plumpy Tint Roseberry

The brand Rosemine is made by the Korean cosmetic manufacturing company called “EVAS”. The name is not chosen randomly, I think, because they stress the point, that their brand is wants to “give people clean & safe lifestyle (by Christian principle)”. I’m feeling a bit discomfortable if a cosmetic brand or company also makes religious remarks, since skincare and cosmetics should be reaching beyond religious aspects…Nevertheless, let’s have a closer look at the Rosemine Plumpy Tint: This is a jelly type lip tint available in two different shades, “Princess Coral” and “Roseberry”. I’m showing you the shade “Roseberry” here, a red berry shade. I remember that I saw this lip tint on one of Pony’s beauty turorials on youtube, too.

Rosemine Plumpy Tint Roseberry

As I already said, the packaging of the product line is inspired by roses and has a beautiful and girly cardboard box. The description of the tint is in Korean only, unfortunately, that is why I cannot provide you with more detailled information. The lip tint comes in a plastic tube with a plastic applicator. The only ingredient information comes on the frontside of the tube, because it says: “a very fresh french rose water and ginseng extract for irresistable and attractive lips”. The tint itself is a jelly type tint and smells very lightly of roses. Once applied I don’t smell it anymore.

Rosemine Plumpy Tint Roseberry

The application can be a bit tricky because it tends to get patchy and you have to apply quickly. I normally apply 2 layers and use a lip brush. I noticed that this gives the best results. I also noticed that the tint seems to separate into two phases if you don’t use it for some time. You’ll get an oily phase and a colored, jelly phase. Keep in mind to shake your tube in order to prevent this. The good thing is, that the oily phase makes your lips feel smooth and the lip tint doesn’t dry your lips in the end, but it looks kind of glossy.

Rosemine Plumpy Tint Roseberry

Rosemine Plumpy Tint Roseberry

Somehow I also did have my problems with the tube. It seemed liuke everytime I used this lip tint I pressed out too much of the product. It is quite hard to controll the amount you want to use. But on the other hand, once the color is appllied it leaves a great stain and looks very pretty and visible on the lips. The result makes me very happy and the packaging aswell…so if they update the difficult formula, it is be the perfect tint. The tube contains 13 g of product and the retail price on the company’s page is around 9 US$. I received mine with the MeMeBox Rose Scentbox, but it is also available in the MeMeShop for 11 US$. If you want to buy it from their shop keep in mind the various promotions they offer:

Review: Aritaum World Glam Coating Tint

31. August 2014

I was super excited when Ibuybeauti contacted me a while ago, in order to write some reviews for their Beautifan page. After having received my products, here is the first review I wrote :) You can also have a look at the review on Beautifan here and I would be happy if you would leave a comment or just have a look at it :) ♥

Aritaum World Glam Coating Tint

Aritaum is a Korean brand which belongs to the Amore Pacific family. The first time I came into contact with this brand was though another lip product, the Aritaum Wannabe Cushion Tints, which I fell in love at first site, because of the beautiful and colorful design. In case of the World Glam Coatint Tints, it was not because of the design of the product, that I chose this. The design here is simple and mature here. The World Glam Coatint Tint collection comprises ten different shades and each shade is named after a city. That is where the name World Glam comes from. The name of the city is written in capital letters around the cap of the lip tint, which also has the corresponding color of the tint. Apart from this the packaging is black. I chose the shade “Shanghai”, a classic red according to the promotional pictures.

Aritaum World Glam Coating Tint

Each lip tint bottle contains 9 ml of lip tint. The description printed on the bottle is written in Korean. On the bottom you’ll find the production date of the lip tint. The Aritaum World Glam Coating Tint is provided with a doe foot applicator, which feels soft upon application. It is easy to use and allows you to create nicely coated lips.

Aritaum World Glam Coating Tint

Below, you can see how the tint looks swatched on my hand and lips. The color of the tint is a bright red with an orange hue. The orange hue is stronger than I expected, but it is a nice red shade in total. The texture of this lip tint lies somewhere between lip gloss and the milky lip tints. It is not sticky like a gloss, which I’m really happy about. Moreover, it gives your lips a soft texture. The pigmentation is really nice and covers the natural lip color. The scent of the Aritaum World Glam Coating Tint is fruity and the taste is the same. Some lip tints tend to taste a bit bitter, but this is not the case here.

Aritaum World Glam Coating Tint

Last but not least, the most important part when talking about lip products: How long is the lasting power of the Aritaum World Glam Coatint Tint? This tint lasts for up to 4 hours. It is waterproof to a ceratin extend- if leaves a stain on your lips even when drinking. When I swatched the lip tint on my hands and washed it off, the stain was still visible, too. The glossyness of the tint fades away after 3-4 hours, that’s when the soft feeling on your lips disappears and your lips feel normal/dry again. Of cource, this tint doesn’t survive any fatty foods either, but for a lip tint it shows a descent lasting time.

Aritaum World Glam Coating Tint

All in all, I love this tint. It became one of my favourites, especially when I go to work I love using it, because it stays long enough and I can reapply once or twice and that’s it…and even if I don’t, it leaves a natural stain and doesn’t look ugly while fading. If you are a lip tint lover – or lip product lover- I can recommend you to try the Aritaum World Glam Coating Tint. I think I will make sure to grab one or two other shades from this collection. you can buy this product for 14.99 US$ at ibuybeauti.

Review: Etude House Rosy Tint Lips Baby Peony

15. May 2014

// KBEAUTY / MAKE UP / AFFILIATE LINKS //

One of the highlights of last autumn’s collection from Etude House were the Rosy Tint Lips. Back then I reviewed one of those tints. Today I’ll show you another one of Etude House’s Rosy Tint Lips called Baby Peony (No.5) and I will show you a comparative swatch between this and the previous one called Rose Petal (No.3). The “& Rose” collection was inspired by the fairytale “The Sleeping Beauty” and 8 different shades are available for this collection.

I really love the packaging and I was attracted to buy this in first place because of the beautiful rose pattern on the paper card box. The packaging is very girly and fairytale-ish and contains descriptions of the product in English and Korean.
The applicator for the Rosy Tint Lips consists of a cushion as tip for blending out the lip tint. The lip tint itself has a solid form and due to the body of the lip tint which is made from hard plastic, it is difficult to squeeze out the product. This was my concern with the previous shade and this one isn’t any different. Nevertheless, the consistency, the pigmentation and the staying power are satisfying.
Baby Peony is a light pink shade which shows up even on more pigmented lips like mine. I have often a problem with brighter shades to be visible, especially orange shades are not working, but here you can clearly see the color. But unfortunately, since it is a light color, you have to scrub your lips before, or the color will stick to the flakes of the lips.
Below you can see Baby Peony and Rose Petal together. As you can see, the plastic body of the tints represents the color inside the tube. Check out my review for the Rose Petal Tint >>here<<.
Although Rose Petal is a red shade when applied fully, it looks similar to Baby Peony when blended out. Both are nice colors though and I think that they can be also combined for gradient lips.

The sponge applicator is also something I have mixed feelings about, as I mentioned in my previous post. It can be unhygienic, but the sponge cap can be taken off and cleaned. It makes it easy to create gradient and soft effects with help of sponge applicators like this. If you don’t want a gradient effect, but clear lines, the applicator will probably mess around the borders of your lips. In this case I’d recommend you to use a lip brush.
The scent of the Rosy Lip Tints is nice. It has a soft scent of roses, so if you are not a fan of rose scented products, don’t buy this :D The staying power is okay, as long as you don’t drink or eat. I’ve definitively seen worse lip tints. Btw., the Rosy Tint Lips can be used as blush, too, which works nicely :)
All in all the main issue I have with the Rosy Tint Lips is the tube. The hard plastic makes it inconvenient for application. Other then this I love the product itself. It is a solid and good working lip product with every day usage potential.

You can buy the Etude House Rosy Lip Tints at:

W2Beauty for US$ 12.55 (free shipping option. You’ll get a 5$ voucher upon registration with the code 088505 , which is usable for orders of minimum 30$)

Review: Belleme Cosmetics Not the same Tint Cherry Bomb

28. November 2013
A while ago I read a blog post on Sweet Jelly Bean’s blog about a lip crayon from Belleme Cosmetics and I was so in love with the color that I really wanted to buy it. So, I went to Abbamart’s web store, where they sell Belleme Cosmetics and I was really tempted by all the lip products on their page. Unfortunately, their shipping costs for outside US and Canada were to expensive if you only want to buy one or two products and I left the web store at the end. Some time later I was browsing through www.testerkorea.com and I discovered, that they put some Belleme Cosmetics into their web store, which made me freak out a tiny bit and I ended up ordering Belleme Cosmetics Not the same Tint in Cherry Bomb – for the first XD. Keep reading, if you want to hear more about it!:)

Belleme Cosmetics Not the same Tint is a liquid lip tint which you can apply either on your cheeks or on your lips. You can create a gradient effect on you lips, too, if you want.

The product description taken from Abbamart’s web store says:

* Not The Same Tint in Cherry Bomb is a fruity, juicy cherry color stain for lips and cheeks

* Intense color is easy to blend and lasts for hours with just one application

* For lips, use the application tip to firmly press tint to the middle of lips, then quickly feather out with your fingertips for a lively bloom of color

* For cheeks, apply a single swipe across your cheekbone then quickly work in the color with your fingers

* Infuses a deep base color to your lips – top off with clear gloss or lip balm to add extra shine!

3.2 ml/ .11 oz

Ingredients: WATER Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer GLYCERIN PENTYLENE GLYCOL ALCOHOL PHENOXYETHANOL RED 227 (CI 17200) Betaine TREHALOSE PARFUM RED 40 (CI 16035)

The bottle consists of a clear bottom part containing the stint, and a cap with the applicator attached. The design of the bottle is simple, but nevertheless it has added some cuteness by the little illustration on the backside.
The color of the lip tint is a cherry red, which fits to the name of the product. The scent of it, nevertheless, isn’t the same like cherry or artificial cherry scent- luckily, because I really don’t like these artificial cherry scents- I was thinking of ripe strawberries rather…but perhaps my notion of scents is wrong XD
My first lip tint I used and I’m still using every since is benefit’s benetint. A lot of people already know it, that’s why I thought I might compare Belleme’s lip tint with it, to give you an idea abou this lip tint.
As you can see, benetints color is different than this one. Belleme’s lip tint is a cherry red color, whereas Benetint is a brighter red. The consistency of the two tints is different, too. Benetint is more watery, it may feel drying on the lips. Belleme’s tint is a bit thicker, also the color is more pigmented when applied first and it feels smoother on the lips. Both tints are water resistent to a degree. They both leave a color stain on my hand after washing with water (bottom right image above). But I must admit, that Benetint’s stain stayed on my hands even after taking a shower, although the color was bleached nearly completely. Belleme’s tint was not visible anymore, after taking a shower.
The downside of most tints seem to be the bitter taste and the fact that they are feathering and don’t leave you with clear borders in the worst case. Here: The taste of both lipsticks is not the nicest, but actually, I personally don’t care. The feathering effect is a point that I have to mention, though. Benetint has this problem, you can see on the left bottom picture above, how much it feathers. Belleme’s tint feathers, too, but the effect is not as drastic as with benetint.
Considering all these points, I would say, that Belleme Cosmetics Not the same Tint is on the same level as Benefit’s Benetint. It really depends, what type of color you like. If you want a more natural reddish shade on your lips, I would go for Benetint, if you prefer a more pigmented cherry red, you should go for Belleme’s Not the same Tint. Below, you’ll see how the tint looks on my lips when fully applied. It really gives a nice color and doesn’t have the heavy feeling of lipsticks or lip gloss.
You can by this tint (and other nice products) on Abbamart. The bottle contains 3.2 ml product and costs US$ 8.00. They have also some discounts at the moment, since it is the black friday weekend, and you can get off 30% of Belleme Cosmetics. If you live outside US and Canada and don’t want to make a bulk order to get rid of the shipping costs, you can have a look at www.testerkorea.com. They have some of the products as well. Their shipping costs depend on weight.

Review: Etude House Rosy Tint Lips

10. October 2013
I was super excited when I saw the first promotional pictures on Etude House’s Autumn Collection 2013 called “& Rose” and I picked up one of the new Rosy Tint Lips directly. I chose No. 3 “Rose Petal”. There are 8 different shades available in total. By the way, did you know that Etude House’s “& Rose” collection is inspired by the fairytale “The Sleeping Beauty”? I love fairytales and this collections color range fits perfectly to “The Sleeping Beauty” in my opinion.
Etude House Rosy Tint Lips
The Korean brand Etude House is one of the best known Korean brands for cute packaging. If you are a lover ofcute, girly and pink packaging, reminding you of being a child and the princess you always dreamt to be, THIS is your brand. Their packaging is usually so adorable that you cannot keep yourself from impuls-buys – only because you saw the packaging …As the name of the collection is “& Rose” the packaging is very beautifully covered with painted roses and fulfills all our expectations.
Etude House Rosy Tint Lips

The product description is written in English on the side of the cardboard box, too :D

With a tinge of red,
she blossoms like a rose in full bloom.
The story of her and the rose, &Rose…

The velvet type Tint Lips comes with a soft delicate texture and rich color to express lips of rosy petal.
Directions:
Tip 1) Delicate Petal Lip Gradiation: Dab a certain amount onto center of upper and lower lips and use tip to evenly spread.
Tip 2) Rose in Full Bloom Lip Cover: Smoothly glide onto lips, starting from the inner to outer direction.
Tip 3) Soft Petal Cheeks: Dispense a certain amount and dab lightly onto both cheeks, blending quickly with fingers.
Etude House Rosy Tint Lips

The tube of the tint has the color of the shade you pick and is very simply, displaying the name of it in a curly, cute font/ornament. The tip of the tint consists of a sponge applicator. The lip tint has to be squeezed out of the tube through the applicator. The applicator should help you to create either gradient lips or fully colored lips. And here is the major downside of this product: the tube is made from a really hard plastic and you have to squeeze very hard in order to get some product out of the tube. I read some reviews before and they all said that the plastic was hard to squeeze, but I didn’t imagine it would be like this…

Etude House Rosy Tint Lips
The sponge applicator is also something I have mixed feelings about. I know that some but think that I dislike it because it can be unhygienic, but that is not my main issue (the sponge cap can be taken off and cleaned). The Aritaum Cushion Tints I raved before (here and here) did have a sponge applicator, too. It is easy to create gradient and soft effects with help of sponge applicators like this. But, unlike the Aritaum Cushion Tints, here the product comes directly out of the sponge, so if you don’t want a gradient effect, but clear lines the applicator will probably mess around the borders of your lips. In this case I’d recommend you to use a lip brush.
Etude House Rosy Tint Lips
Now, what about the product itself: I thought Rose Petal would have a slightly different color, but it is more a pink tone. It is a very nice shade nevertheless. Also, I like the matte appearance of the color on the lips. You have to be a bit careful with dry lips though. The lasting power is not amazing, but it is okay, as long as you don’t eat and drink. But, what I really like is the scent of the lip tint, since it smells of roses ♥ You can also use it as blush, and I tried it as well. The color is really pigmented, so be careful not to put too much on your cheeks, normally the stain on the sponge after you used it on your lips is more than enough (germophobics should clean the sponge applicator afterwards, or simply use sanitized fingers).
I bought mine at W2Beauty. If you are not yet registered, you can receive a 5,00 € voucher after registration using my link or the sponsor code 088505 and you can use it immediately for any order from 30 $ onwards. You can also get it from various other shops:W2Beauty for US$ 11.29 (free shipping option)
Testerkorea for 8500 Won/ US$ ~8.50 (shipping costs depend on weight)
KollectionK for US$ 9.89 (shipping to Germany starts at US$ 4.99)
ebay fom US$ 9-19, depending on the seller (shipping depends on seller)For the lip tint itself, I like it very much. I really am disappointed about the design of the tube and the whole applicational discomfort caused by it. Nevertheless it is worth a try. I’m thinking of de-potting it or something like this…
