Review: HICKAP Eyeshadow Palette & Brushes

Here is my last review for the make-up products from the HICKAP. I’m very excited about these reviews since I was send so many products, which I didn’t except and also since some of the products have become part of my daily make-up, too. The last reviews were about the Lip Pencils and Lipstick, and the Blushes & Bronzer. Today, it is about the HICKAP Eyeshadow Palette & Brushes:

Let me start with an introduction to the brand: HICKAP is a Swedish clothing and make-up brand brought to life by Wilma and Emil Holmqvist. These two created a YouTube channel with the purpose to enspire people and they were successful with it. Wilmas Beauty is one of Swedens most popular YouTube channels for teenagers these days. Their newly released brand and its first collection is based on the idea of affordable products boosted with confidence and class. Also, if you are familiar with the online Swedish retailer NA-KD you maybe came across HICKAP, too.

I was really surprised to find so many products reaching from all ranges of HICKAP’s make-up products. After taking all the pictures I knew that I couldn’t put all the pictures in one post, so I grouped them after all. I started with the HICKAP Lip Pencils & Lipstick, continuing with the Blushes and Bronzer yesterday, and today it is about the HICKAP Eyeshadow Palette and the HICKAP Brushes. But first let’s appreciate the minimalistic and very clean design of the HICKAP products. Black is the main color with a very simply white lettering. The design reminds me of timeless brands like MAC or in kbeauty terms Stylenanda’s 3CE.

HICKAP Eyeshadow Palette

“Simple to blend and simple to use. Regardless if you are going to a party or enjoying the everyday life.”

The HICKAP Eyesgadow palette comes in a black square shape with a sleek and simple design. It contains 4 different colors: white, light brown, dark brown and black. Two of the shades have a glowy finish (white and light brown), whereas the other two shades (dark brown and black) are matte. I love combinations of eyeshadows with matte and glowy finish. It makes the colors much more versatile to use. What makes this palette special is the magnetic lid. The lid is attached to the bottom part with four magnets on the corners and can be removed fully and separated from the eyeshadows. I never saw a palette with such a lid before, so I was more than amazed by this little extra feature.

As you can see all the four shades have a visible pigmentation, with the white shade being the most delicate and subtle shade. It is a super nice color as a base though in my opinion. I love the matte brown and black shade, that can be used perfectly for smokey eye make-up. The eyeshadows create fall-off when used and again it depends on the brushes how strong the pigmentation turns out. The colors are all in all neutral and can be used for most daily and evening eye make-up looks.

HICKAP Brush Collection

I also received 10 brushes from HICKAP of all sizes and shapes, making their Brush Collection. The HICKAP brush collection is a 100% Animal Cruely Free brush set using high quality synthetic hair bristles. These brushes were designed so powder, cream and liquid products are distributed directly to the skin without absorbing or wasting product. Also, the brushes are coated with an antibacterial solution for minimal brush cleansing that makes your brushes stay fresh and clean for longer periods of time.

“With its Vegan makeup qualities from bristles to ferrule this set is a must have in your makeup collection.”

I haven’t tested the brushes long enough to know, if their claim about the antibacterial solution for minimal brush cleansing is true or not, but I can confirm that their bristles are dense and super soft. The bronze metal part around the handle makes them appear high quality too, and also they seem to be sturdy and not easy to get damaged. For applying eyeshadows and blushes these brushes work very well and don’t dissapoint. I haven’t used them for foundations yet (because I mainly use cushions).

I’m almost sad that this is already my last review of the HICKAP products, but I’m also happy that I was able to introduce them to you. I’m definitely not an expert when it comes to eyeshadows and brushes, but I keep learning every day and I’m happy about a set of really high quality brushes to use for learning here. Also the eyeshadow palette contains all the basic shades a beginner needs to have. I like how there are two matte and two glowy shades and I love the special magnetic lid mechanism it has. Review: HICKAP Blushes & Bronzer

Let’s continue my reviews for the make-up products from the HICKAP. I’m very excited about these reviews since I was send so many products, which I didn’t except and also since some of the products have become part of my daily make-up, too. Yesterday, I showed you the Lip Pencils and Lipstick, and today it is all about the HICKAP Blushes & Bronzer:

I was really surprised to find so many products reaching from all ranges of HICKAP’s make-up products. After taking all the pictures I knew that I couldn’t put all the pictures in one post, so I grouped them after all. I started with the HICKAP Lip Pencils & Lipstick yesterday, and continuing with the Blushes and Bronzer today. But first let’s appreciate the minimalistic and very clean design of the HICKAP products. Black is the main color with a very simply white lettering. The design reminds me of timeless brands like MAC or in kbeauty terms Stylenanda’s 3CE.

I received two blushes and one bronzer, which all come packed in square black & white cardboard boxes. Also the pans of the blushes and bronzer are squere shaped, perfect for organizing them in drawers :D.

HICKAP Blushes

“The Perfect shades for your blushy look. Blush!”

The HICKAP Blushes are available in two shades called “Passion” and “Caramel”. Both are powder blushes that are easily to apply and have just the right amount of pigmentation.

Both shades are rose toned, but “Passion” is a darker shade than “Caramel”. “Passion” gives you a nice rose blush that will give you the romantic look and add some glowy finish on top. “Caramel” is a matte shade, that slightly tends towards coral. Recently, I’ve been using “Caramel” pretty much every day, because the shade is so wearable.

HICKAP Bronzer

The HICKAP Bronzer in “Warm Matte” is a matte bronzer in a light beige color with a slightly glowing finish.

“This bronzer gives your face that perfect contour you just dying to have.”

Below you can see the swatches of all three products. All three shades are pigmented well enough to be used directly on the face, but they all can be blended in nicely, too, resulting in more delicate and natural pigmentations. The products cause some fall-off while using them, but it also depends on the density and stiffness of the brush bristles you use of course.

My final verdict of these HICKAP Blushes & Bronzer is positive. I love how blendable they are and I’m super in love with the blush in shade “Caramel”. It is my favorite blush color at the moment and I’m using it daily. The bronzer might be slightly to orange-shaded for my personal preference for contouring, but it can be used greatly to emphazise cheek bones and gives a nice sunkissed glow. All three products are also on sale at the moment, so I can definitely recommend you to give them a try.

Within the next days I’m going to share a couple of reviews introducing make-up products from the HICKAP I’m very excited about these reviews since I was send so many products, which I didn’t except and also since some of the products have become part of my daily make-up, too. Today, I will start with the HICKAP Lip Pencils & Lipstick:

I was really surprised to find so many products reaching from all ranges of HICKAP’s make-up products. I will start with the HICKAP Lip Pencils & Lipstick today, and continue with the Blushes and Bronzer, and the Eyeshadow Palette and Brushes. But first let’s appreciate the minimalistic and very clean design of the HICKAP products. Black is the main color with a very simply white lettering. As you know, I love lip products and one of my favourite lip colors is classy red. I was more than happy to spot a red lipstick. Additionally, three different lip pencils completed the set of lip products here.

HICKAP Lipstick “Red Carpet”

“Red Carpet”, the name already reveals the classy color of this lipstick: a vibrant red shade, like the beautful people in Hollywood would wear.

“A red lipstick that make your lips pop. Stand out from the crowd with lipstick from HICKAP. Here I am!”

Like all products from HICKAP the lipstick is cruelty-free. Also, it contains different plant based oils to provide your lips with moisture and create that creamy lipstick finish.

HICKAP Lip Pencils

I received the HICKAP lip pencils in three shades called “Sour”, “Plum”, and “Candy Apple”. All pencils come with a cap to protect the tip and have to be sharpened wih a regular sharpener, once blunt. And also here, all of them are cruelty-free.

“Sour” is a rose brown color for your lip shape. It has that classy nude shade that is quite liked by many people these days. “Plum” is a light plum color, that has a cool undertone. “Candy Apple” is an intensive red that also fits perfectly to the HICKAP lipstick in “Red Carpet”.

Below you can see the swatches for all four products starting with the lip pencils from the left in “Sour”, “Plum”, and “Candy Apple”. The lipstick is shown on the right. As you can see all the shades are vibrant and pigmented and even the nude shades show up on the skin.

But also on the lips all colors are distinct and show up even on my darker toned lips. The HICKAP Lip Pencils are harder to work with, because they are not very creamy. It is important to have scrubbed the lips before to avoid that flaky skin is emphasized. Especially shade “Sour” works best on perfctly smooth lips. The staying power of the red lip pencil is the best of these three shades, because the stain keeps staying on the lips until eating a proper meal. The nude shades dissapear quite qickly though. All the lip pencils have a matte finish. The lipstick is creamier and easier to apply compared to the lip pencils. It has a classy cream lipstick finish and is easier to work with than the lip pencils. It does not have the same long-staying stain as the red lip liner, but the lip liner and the lipstick in combination do the trick.

I’m always happy to get to know new make-up brands and especially new lip products. I love the three shades of the HICKAP and how pigmented they all are, despite their shade. Also, the staining power of the red lip liner was really convincing. I’d have loved if the bullet of the pencils would be slightly more creamy than it is now, because it would make it better suited for people with dry lips. The HICKAP lipstick is very classy and has a lovely and perfect consitency. You never can go wrong with red lips.

Nu3 Insider Box Summer Edition

Today's post will be about a PR Sample Box from Nu3. I decided to write the post in German since this shop is directed towards German customers. But if you want to know any details to any of the below products, please feel free to ask in the comments below. I'll be happy to answer your questions :)

Ich bin ziemlich spät dran für diesen Post, aber zum Glück ist es zumindest noch Sommer, entsprechend kam im Juni eine neue nu3 Insider Box eingetrudelt, dessen Inhalt ich euch heute hier vorstelle. Vielleicht kennen manche von euch den nu3 Online Shop für bessere Ernährung ja bereits. Sie bieten eine Reihe von Naturprodukten, Naturkost, Fitnessprodukte und vieles mehr an.

Die nu3 Insider Box ist keine reguläre Subscription Box, sondern eine fürBlogger kreierte PR-Sample Box vom online shop nu3. Man konnte unter verschiedenen Themen für die Nu3 Insider Box wählen und ich habe mich für die “Natural Beauty Box” entschieden. Die “Natural Beauty Box” enthält eine ausgewogene Mischung an Kosmetikprodukten und Naturkost bzw Beauty Foods. Schließlich kommt Schönheit ja bekanntermaßen von innen, von daher ist es auch wichtig gesunde Lebensmittel zu uns zu nehmen ;)

Die nu3 Insider Box Natural Beauty für den Sommer enthielt insgesamt 4 Produkte, die ich euch im weiteren näher vorstellen werde.

Zunächst einmal war die Box unglaublich schwer, worüber ich mich im ersten Moment sehr gewandert habe. Als ich dann das Paket öffnete erblickte ich gleich eine sehr große und schwere Flasche nu3 Bio Aloe Vera Saft. Wow! Und gefreut habe ich mich darüber auch noch, denn ich hatte vorher noch nie Aloe Vera Saft getrunken oder probiert. Ich hab mir auch direkt den ein oder anderen Erfrischungtrank gebraut und fand es auch sehr passend aber auch etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig im Geschmack. Allerdings braucht man immer nur sehr wenig vom Aloe Vera Saft, muss allerdings die Flasche innerhalb von zwei Wochen verbrauchen. Ich weiß nicht genau wie das funktioniert. Ich hatte noch sehr viel Saft übrig….Und bin noch unentschlossen ob ich es wegschmeißen oder mir noch ein paar Masken daraus machen soll…Abgesehen vom Aloe Vera Saft enthielt die Box noch ein weiteres Getränk: nu3 Bio Fasten-Tee. Ich faster zwar nicht, aber ich mag sehr gerne Tee und die Kräutermischung aus grünem Material, Brombeerblättern, Brennnessel, Hagebutte, Fenchelsamen, Anis, Birkenblättern und Süßholzwurzel hört sich perfekt an. Auch hier sind die Zutaten aus biologischem Anbau.

Das einzige Kosmetikprodukt dieser Box war die Weleda Mandel Sensitiv Pflegedusche. Ich liebe Mandelduft, oder Mandelblütenduft in der Körperpflege! Die Weleda Pflegedusche ist ph hautneutral und seifenfrei und außerdem frei von Konservierungs-, Farb-, und Duftstoffen und verzichtet auf Rohstoffe auf Mineralölbasis. Das einzige was mir aufgefallen ist, ist dass sie nicht so gut Aufschwung wie andere Duschgels. Trotzdem schätze ich die Marke Weleda und ihre zertifizierte Naturkosmetik sehr. Das letzte Produkt der nu3 Insider Box diesen Sommer ist auch mein Highlight gewesen: die Nutri-Kick Stevia Schokolade! Ich liebe Schokolade, allerdings hätte ich mir unter normalen Umständen nie Stevia Schokolade geholt und war auch entsprechend skeptisch. Trotzdem wurde sie als erstes probiert…Und von meinem Freund direkt innerhalb kurzer Zeit vernichtet- und ich muss sagen sie schmeckt sehr gut und schmilzt perfekt im Mund.

Alles zusammen eine schöne Box mit interessanten Produkten. Ich bin sehr froh, dass ich sie testen durfte.

Dupe Alert: Éclat Perfumes

The moment you receive a super luxurious and expensive perfume as a gift and you fall in love with it, only to discover that you cannot use it everyday because it is too painful for your wallet to repurchase it. Does this sound familiar to you?! I had this experience quite a lot so usually I have two kinds of perfumes: the everyday perfume, with an okay to nice scent, but affordable to repurchase, and the special occasions perfume, which are my favorite scents and super expensive…what a shame! Everyone should be able to afford their favourite scents for everyday use. And this is exactly what Éclat Perfumes make possible! I was totally amazed to hear that they create and offer the twins of known perfumes for a small price, but how similar would they be and how would they actually compare?! One of my favorite perfumes is Thierry Mugler’s Angel. I adore the sweet scent and the recognition of this perfume and it has been my favorite for years now. I got the chance to take a closer look at Éclat Perfumes No. Called “Blue Star”, which is a dupe for “Angel” according to other bloggers and by the hint through the name.

Éclat Perfumes is located in Germany and their perfumes are made in Germany too. Obviously, they also ship to Germany, but also within Europe. They have a variety of 330 different perfumes and if you just browse through the world-wide web you will find lists of the perfumes and their famous sisters and brothers. Yes, they also offer perfumes for men and not only for women!

The packaging of the Éclat Perfumes is simple and sleek and looks elegant. I think that a bunch of these will really look pretty together, but unlike their pricier idols they do not come with differently shaped bottles. All perfumes have the same shape and packaging. On the other hand this is probably also one of the reasons these perfumes are so much more affordable. The price for a bottle containing 55 ml is usually at 19.95 €!

Let’s see how the perfume performs, since this is the main reason why we buy our beloved perfumes: the scent! I’m showing you Éclat Perfume No. 16 called “Blue Star”. This oriental and sweet perfume has these notes:

top note: bergamot, jasmine, cassia, coconut, mandarin, melon, cotton candy

middle note: apricot, blackberry, honey, jasmine, lily of the valley, orchid, peach, plum, rose, red berries

base notes: amber, caramel, musk, patchouli, chocolate, tonka bean, vanilla

As I said, this perfume is the sibling of Thierry Mugler’s Angel. You will find that even the notes above are the same in both products! After applying it on my skin I was totally convinced by the Éclat Perfume: it is hard to tell which one is the perfume from Éclat and which one is the original. Even in terms of lasting power the Éclat Perfume is as strong as the perfume from Thierry Mugler. I’m amazed!

Would I recommend trying out Éclat Perfumes?! Definitely! If you have a chance to get your hands on one or the other perfume you will be amazed how similar this perfume is to your favorite brand- at least it works for No.16, which I tested and compared here. Some of the names of the perfumes make it easy to guess which is their sibling perfume, like “Blue Star”, but for others it is more hard to detect. You can try to give it a search first, or check out other blogs. This perfume has become my everyday perfume and I love it so much! I definitely plan on buying other perfumes from Éclat Perfumes. You can obtain this perfume from Éclat Perfumes for 19.96 €.

Review: Catrice Denim Divine Limited Edition

Summer and Spring are usually the seasons when denim returns to our focus in fashion. Therefore, Catrice released a new limited edition makeup collection called Catrice Denim Divine. I received some of their products for reviewing purpose and I wanted to share these products with you today.

“Jeans – a living fashion legend. From the robust worker’s trousers of the 19th century to today’s universal look. Jeans have consistently adapted to the contemporary movements over the past 50 years and have therefore become one of the social must-haves. No other fabric is as versatile and is used by designers as often as denim. The runway pictures of the summer collections confirm that jumpsuits, tight-fitting denim dresses combined with blue jeans are the trends of the season. The new Limited Edition “Denim Divine” by CATRICE completes the look with matching beauty products from mid April to mid May 2016. Denim Love – by CATRICE.”

Reading the description of this collection by Catrice already brings many fashion wishlists into my mind containing different jeans clothing. Catrice is a drugstore beauty brand available in many countries. Their products are inspired by the Fashion trends of the world’s capitals and have a good quality despite the affordable price. The brand is against animal testing for their cosmetics products, too.

The Catrice Denim Divine Collection is a Limited Edition. I don’t know how long the products will be available, but if you like them it is good to check out your local drugstore quickly. The collection consists of 6 different products and apart from the products I’m showing here there is also an eyeshadow palette and liquid eyeliner available.

Catrice Denim Divine Nail Lacquers

I will start with the nail polishes from this collection:

The formula of the nail lacquers stands for extraordinary coverage, long durability and a beautiful finish with or without effects. There are 5 different colors available C01 Dark Denim Blue, C02 Fabricot, C03 Women’s Cut, C04 Comfort Fit, and C05 Gold Miners. I didn’t receive the red nail polish C03 (unfortunately), but you can see the other colors below. I really like Gold Miners and Dark Denim Blue and I guess they fit together pretty nicely. The brush applicator is a short one, but still the nail polish can be applied easily. I still prferr the longer brushes though. Also, you have to be careful not to have too much of the polish on the brush to have an even coat. The nail polishes are pretty opaque already with one stroke, as you can see in the images.

Catrice Denim Divine Luminous Lip Gloss Comfort Fit

“For all Shapes. Smooth, glossy results are always a good thing. The semi-transparent, light texture provides the lips with a slight shimmer in a choice of fresh coral or subtle nude – ideal for a summery bronze look.”

There are two lip glosses available in the Catrice Denim Divine Collection, a coral and a nude shade (C01 Women’s Cut and C02 Comfort Fit). I received the nude one. It comes with the typical angled applicator and has a golden7nude shimmer.

Catrice Denim Divine Powder Blush Stone Blushed and Bronzer Hot TANts

“Icon meets Colour. Create a summer complexion with this powder blush in a fresh peach tone. Easy to apply and blend, it emphasizes the cheekbones beautifully. The natural-looking finish is silky matt. A fabulous eye-catcher: the attractive jeans embossment on the surface of the texture.”

The blush from this collection is a very pretty pink shaded blush. It says that it is peach, but I would call it rather pinkish. It has a matte finish and a good pigmentation, too! Also, I really like the packaging here, although it is really simple. Same for the Bronzer:

“Sand Washed. Fine bronzing powder with a matt finish for a naturally tanned look. Can also be used for contouring the facial features. Thanks to the unique jeans embossment and rosé-golden packaging, this bronzer is a true must-have that shouldn’t be missing in any beauty bag.”

A perfect bronzer for spring and summer with a nice glow and reddish brown shade. It fits nicely to blue colors and jeans. Also here, the pigmentation is really nice and I like the shade of this bronzer a lot.

All together, the Catrice Denim Divine Collection represents nicely the denim vibes and delivers a matching color range of makeup products. If you like any of the colors from the swatches I showed I can advice you to take a look at the collection in real, if this limited edition is available in your country. And since Catrice is really affordable in terms of prices (few Euros here), why not give them a try?! Review: KIKO Rebel Romantic Collection

Happy new year everyone! It is 2016! The best part about Christmas and new year are the massive sales everywhere! And that’s why I have a special review for you today. I’ve planned the review of the KIKO Rebel Romantic Collection weeks and months ago so it is a long overdue review, but now you can get all the items on sale mentioned below on sale, which makes it not to bad to post it now :D By the way, I found out about the sale by my fellow blogger at Cupcakes and Berries, who bought all the three shades of the Rebel Bouncy Blush. Had over to her blog to see the shades she has.

KIKO Milano is an Italian brand founded in 1997, with a broad range of make-up, skin care and body care. They are available in many different countries online and also with physical stores. It is always a pleasure to walk through their stores and the take a look at all the different colors they have for nail polish and eye make-up. The KIKO Rebel Romantic Collection was one of their collections which really caught my eye because of the beautiful packaging.

I have four different products from this collection to show you, which are the Rebel Bouncy Blush in shade 04 “Passion Red Wine”, the Intensely Lavish Lipstick in 03 “Luscious Red”, the Intensely Lavish Lip Pencil in 03 “Luscious Red” and the Color Definition Eyeliner and Kajal in Black.

The highlight of the collection are definitively the Rebel Bouncy Blushes, which have a super pretty packaging in a rosegold color and have a very interesting texture aswell. You might think from the first glance that this will be a cream blush but actually it is a blush with a cream to powder texture, which is super blendable and has a powdery and velvet-y finish. The colors are also very pretty!

The second highlight of the collection are the Intensely Lavish Lipsticks. Here again, we have a rose-gold and super elegant packaging and a classy red color in case of the shade “Luscious Red”. The lipstick has a creamy texture with a pigmented and vibrant color and a light glossy finish. It goes super well with the Intensely Lavish Lip Pencil in the same color, which applies soft and creamy aswell.

Unlike the Lip Pencil, the Color Definition Eyeliner and Kajal has a twist-up mechanism and an included tip sharpener attached at the end of the pencil. The color applies creamy and vibrant and is rub-proof.

Below you’ll find the swatches of all the products on the back of my hand starting with the eyeliner from left, then the lip liner and the lipstick, and on the right the blush. If you can get your hands on some of the discounted products I can advise you to grab your chance, especially for the beautiful blushes!

The blushes retail for 4.90 € (before they were 9.90 €), the lipstick retails for 3.40 € (from 6.90 €), and the lip liner for 2.40 € (from 4.90€). I didn’t find the eyeliner though. Sorry for the quick and also belated post, but hopefully it is useful to those of you who are on the hunt for some discounted products. August has passed too quickly :/ But it means, that I have a new empties post for you. Here you go:

1. Etude House Color My Brows – Repurchase? Yes.

This was the first eyebrow mascara I bought. I wanted my brows to have a lighter color than my natural dark eyebrows and it did a descent job. Considering the price I could imagine to repurchase it, too. See my old review >>here<<.

2. Bebe More (Johnson&Johnson) Fresh Eyes and Face – Repurchase? No.

This was in one of the Glossyboxes I received. It is a nice eye makeup remover and it did a good job. Moreover, it is a local drugstore brand so it is easily available here in Germany. But there are a lot of other cleansers in my stash which I would love to try first before I repurchase this.

3. Shiseido Perfect Whip Cleansing Foam and Watery Oil – Repurchase? Yes.

I really enjoyed using these two. They were part of the promotional set of the Shiseido Hada Senka Lotion. I loved especially the foam cleanser. It created such a lovely soft foam with a foaming net ♥ These cleansers are quite cheap in full size, so I’m thinking of buying the Perfect Whip Foam in future.

4. John Frida Frizz-Ease Daily Miracle Deep Conditioner – Repurchase? Maybe.

I still have a travel size version of this leave in deep conditioner. It’s easy to use and it tames your hair if your hair tends to be frizzy…At the moment I’m prefering hair oils… that’s the only reason I won’t repurchase it at the moment. (I don’t know if I translated the product name correctly).

5. Syoss Deep Repair Hair Treatment – Repurchase? Maybe.

Again, the same as for the above, I’m using mostly hairoils at the moment and very rarely deep conditioners…and my hair looks much better since that. But maybe I will repurchase this sometime, especially when my hair gets longer again :D

That’s it for my product empties from August. Not much, but still some :D I used a couple of samples and sheet masks, but I don’t want to list them :D Do you know any of the above? What’s your opinion about them? Leave a comment if you like ♥
