Unboxing: Japan Candy Box April 2018 & Giveaway

8. May 2018

// UNBOXING / FOOD / PR SAMPLE //

Japan Candy Box has made some changes in their boxes regarding design, booklet and pricing and that means it is time for a new unboxing for this Japanese sweets subscription box! This is the Japan Candy Box April 2018! As usual, there will be a giveaway at the end of this post where you have the chance to win a Japan Candy Box, so ikeep on continue reading! ;) Let’s see what delicious sweets I received this time:

Japan Candy Box April 2018

Japan Candy Box is a Japanese sweets subscription box by Blippo. Apart from the Japan Candy Box they also have the Kawaii Box, which contains cute toy items, stationary, tiny plushies and so on. I’m very happy to be able to show you the Japan Candy Box April 2018! I love to try out sweets and food from different countries and one thing I especially love about Japanese products is the cute packaging design and the little details they include to make the product most enjoyable. I knew some of the products already from other snack boxes, but there were some new and also delicious discoveries, too!

Japan Candy Box April 2018

The Japan Candy Box comes in a cardboard box with purple print. Everything here screams already “cute” just from looking at the box. The cute theme is continued inside and here we have the new description card. But instead of the usual card they have now changed it to a brochure.

Japan Candy Box April 2018

Now we see small illustrations to each of the products along with the description, which makes it so much easier to know what is what. Still, the box is filled with 10 different products, varying from sweet to salty. The topic of this month is of course the Sakura Season! Cherry blossoms are always am important thing in Japan, but the season is also about being together and havinf picknicks outside.

Japan Candy Box April 2018

Let’s see what we have inside this time:

Japan Candy Box April 2018

Kit Kat Dark Chocolate Mini Bar

Japanese dark chocolate version of Kit Kats. The flavor is written as ‘otona no amasa’ which translates to ‘adults’ sweetness’. This Kit Kat combined the crunchy waver with dark chocolate.

Japan Candy Box April 2018

Pocky Natural Strawberry Biscuit Sticks

Who loves Pocky Sticks? I do! I’m always looking for some when I’m in an asian grocery shop. These sweet strawberry Pocky sticks have no artificial colors or flavorings and the packaging design is so adorable!

Japan Candy Box April 2018

Kabaya Puchi Purin Pudding Chocolates

Another perfect packaging design! This cup looks even like a pudding cup, but inside are tiny mini chocolates shaped like traditional Japanese pudding.

Japan Candy Box April 2018

Kasugai Rose Aroma Ramune Candy

Love the packaging here again! Somehow it reminds me of a sheet mask or skincare packaging though! These are rose flavored ramune candy blended with catechin and rose petal extract.

Japan Candy Box April 2018

Meiji Fruit Gumi Peach Gummy Candy

One of the best selling soft candy in Japan! I had these in another box already and enjoyed them. They are made with concentrated, real peach juice preserving the real fruit taste.

Japan Candy Box April 2018

Koikeya Scorn Wafu BBQ Corn Snacks

Now on to some salty snacks. Here are salty and savory Japanese-style barbecue flavored corn puffs. Barbecue is always a good joice when it comes to snacks.

Japan Candy Box April 2018

Tohato Caramel Corn Snacks

The delicious taste of caramel and the crispiness of the corn puffs make these a perfect snack!

Japan Candy Box April 2018

Yaokin Umaibo Snack Natto Flavor

Umaibo or “delicious stick” in Japanese is a puffed corn snack. This one is flavored with Natto, fermented soya bean powder.

Japan Candy Box April 2018

Tomica Ramune Candy

Soda flavor ramune candies in the shapes of cars and other popular Tomica toys.

Japan Candy Box April 2018

Popin’ Cookin’ Kuru Kuru Takoyaki DIY Candy Kit

A japanese snack or candy subscription always needs a DIY Kit! This one is a set for making the popular Japanese street food snack Takoyaki (octopus balls) from candy ingredients.

Japan Candy Box April 2018

The Japan Candy Box April 2018 was full of versatile candy and snacks from Japan as always. I’m especially loving the japanese chocolates and I’m always excited to try new ones.  I love how they improved the brochure and illustrations! If you are interested in your own Japan Candy Box you can make a monthly subscription for this box. You can choose between several options: either to order only one box6 boxes (6 months subscription) or 12 boxes (1 year subscription). Each box retails at 19.90 US$. Unboxing: YumeTwins Box November 2016 “Breakfast”

2. December 2016

TokyoTreat also offers a subscription box for Japanese cute things called YumeTwins. I received the YumeTwins Box November 2016 a couple of days ago and I’m happy to share its content with you today. The topic of this months YumeTwins Box was “Breakfast”, the most important meal of the day, as it is said!

YumeTwins Box November 2016

YumeTwins Box is a monthly subscription box service located in Japan and delivering cute and kawaii stuff from Japan. They state that it centers around the terms Yume Kawaii, which is a new Kawaii movement that has developed, being a mix of cuteness, fairytale and darkness.

YumeTwins Box November 2016

Each YumeTwins box contains 8-10 items reaching from plushies, squiechies, collectible keychains and figures, stationary and accessories. The box can be either subscribed monthly, or in packages of 3, 6 or 12 months. The YumeTwins Box November 2016 contains exactly 8 items and revolves around the topic “Breakfast”, since breakfast has an important role in Japanese culture. Traditional Japanese breakfast is very hearty, serving fish, rice, eggs, pickles and miso soup. But of course there is also western breakfast available in Japan.

YumeTwins Box November 2016

The box was packed to the top, mainly because it contained a HUGE plushie this time: the Shinada Baby Nature Plushies are suuuper soft and fluffy and there were different types available in the boxes. My box contained a baby alpaca *_* Isn’t it adorable? The plushie is not really related to breakfast, but still it is so adorable..and maybe it can be part of a tea party instead ;)

YumeTwins Box November 2016

Another Hit-item in the YumeTwins Box November 2016 were the Re-ment’s Sailor Moon Sweets Mascot. These are blind boxes containing one out of 6 cute and tasty looking Sailor Moon themed charms. In my box the Tuxedo charm was included. Since the charms are designed as sweets this fits nicely into the breakfast topic.

YumeTwins Box November 2016

Another charm was also part of this month’s box: the Sumikko Gurashi Sushi Rubber Keychain Charm! In Japan you can have Sushi for breakfast at fish markets, although it is not really a typical breakfast food. Still, the key charms are so cute and I love the rubber material they have.

YumeTwins Box November 2016

Japan is known for their adoreable stationary and of course the box needed some notepads, too. My box contained a Obento Mate Mini-Notepad, illustrated with cute pandas/bears and typical food which is part of a japanese bento (onigiri, bunny-apple-slices, octopus sausages…). I love these kind of mini-notepads!

YumeTwins Box November 2016

More stationary of course: the Sanrio Kirimichan Post-Its and Sanrio Gudetama stickers! I know you guys love Gudetama and lately there have been so many fun beauty product collaborations with this egg mascot. Egg is the key breakfast product in most countries all over the world, so it is super fitting into the breakfast theme. Kirimichan is not so well-known as Gudetama, but it is also a food themed character from Sanrio, depicting a salmon piece. Fish is very important in traditional Japanese breakfast, so this one fits in perfect, too!

YumeTwins Box November 2016

I fell in love with the Rilakkuuma Tea Party Darjeeling Tea Bags at first sight. These adorable teabags have a cardboard Rilakkuuma illustration which acts as a holder for the teabag on the same time. So adorable and perfect for a tealover, especially for breakfast!

The last item of the YumeBox November 2016 is the Enogumasan 2-Way Marker. Enogumasan is a bear character from popular japanese stationary maker Kamio. The marker has two sides, a thicker and a thin side. And of course it is super cute. Not necessarily a breakfast themed products but still I love it!

YumeTwins Box November 2016

YumeTwins Box made me totally happy and I love the concept of this subscription box. If you are a Japan stationary and cute stuff lover you will adore this box. I love how they have a theme for it and try to find products that fit to the theme. In the magazine which is included in the box you will find the descriptions from the products but also some more information about the topic, which also gives you more insight about japanese culture. The YumeTwins Box retails for 29.99 US $ including worldwide shipping. The 3,6, and 12 month plans have a discounted price. EDIT: I just read the news that they made a Makeover for YumeTwins Box. The new YumeTwins Box will contain only 5 items, but they will include in EACH Box high Quality plushies, lifestyle goods and premium character goods worth over 50 US$. The new YumeTwins Box changes are based on a survey among their subscribers. For their launch there is a Grand Renewal Sale, where subscribers can get UP TO $60 DISCOUNT on the YumeTwins plans until Dec 8th, 2016 using coupon NEWYUMETWINS! Don’t miss your chance to try it!

Unboxing: TokyoTreat Box October 2016 | Autumn Flavors and Halloween

17. November 2016

While I’m writing these lines I’m already nibbling some chocolate from this Japanese candy and snack subscription box. I did an unboxing for TokyoTreat Box in the past and here is another one, this time for the TokyoTreat Box October 2016, which was themed “Autumn Flavors and Halloween”!

TokyoTreat Box October 2016

TokyoTreat is a monthly subscription box service located in Japan and delivering handpicked candies and snacks directly from Japan. The range of their snacks and treats reaches from sweet to savory and the best part is that they have free worldwide shipping for their subscription boxes.

TokyoTreat Box October 2016

They have differently priced and sized boxes for subscribing. The smallest and also cheapest retails for 14.99 US $ and contains 5-7 full-sized Japanese candies and snacks. The medium  (called regular) sized box contains 8-12 full-sized candies and snacks and a DIY Candy Kit for 24.99 US $. Lastly, there is the premium option for 34.99 US $ containing 13-17 candies and snacks , one DIY Candy Kit, 1 drink and one special item, which can be a drink, Gachapon Toy or Premium DIY Kit.

TokyoTreat Box October 2016

The TokyoTreat box I received is the one from October and it is the Premium box containing all the possible products you would have received (including the products from the small and regular box). Since October is mid of autumn and also the Halloween month the items in this box revolve around these two topics! I will divide the products into the box categories, so you will get a better overview of how the box is structured.

TokyoTreat Box October 2016

TokyoTreat Box Small

The SmallTokyoTreat Box for October contains 6 different products: Lotte Koala’s March Halloween Edition, Pipo Chocolate, Uncle Pierre’s Strawberry Cream Roll Cake, Hip Hop Berry Soft Candy Stick, O’Zack Hot Carnival Chili Lime Flavor, and Onion Taro. I love the Koala March Biscuits and every time I’m at the Asian super market I will grab one of these. The Halloween edition is most adorable and so cutely designed. If they had been available during Halloween here I would surely have bought a bunch of them for the Halloween Party! While writing this post I’m eating the Pipo Chocolate. These small balls of covered chocolate remind me of m&ms (without nuts) and are nice to eat in-between. The Uncle Pierre’s Strawberry Cream Roll Cake was a perfect desert to bring to work. Cute design and soft and fluffy cake. Despite being a chocolate and biscuit lover I also really liked the O’Zack Hot Carnival Chili Lime Flavor chips. I love the combination of chili and lime generally! Onion Taro are onion flavored corn puffs. I didn’t try them yet, but corn puffs are always popular with everyone. I also didn’t try the Hip Hop Berry Soft Candy Stick yet, but it is a soft candy stick with two flavors. Soda on the outside and berry flavor on the inside. Sounds nice!

TokyoTreat Box October 2016

TokyoTreat Box Regular

In addition to the products mentioned above the Regular TokyoTreat Box contains four more products: Nyoki Nyoki Corocon, Look Purple sweet Potato and Sweet Chestnut Chocolate, Premium Hi-Chew – Chardonnay White Grape Flavor, and Peppered Soybean Jerky! Nyoki Nyoki Cocoron is a DIY Candy Kit creating three different types of candy with grape, melon or orange taste. You only need to add some water. I didn’t try it yet, but those DIY candies are fun especially with kids. The Look Purple sweet Potato and Sweet Chestnut Chocolate was again my highlight and also a perfect Autumn themed product. these chocolate bites are either filled with a purple sweet potato filling or a chestnut filling and I loved both of them! And most of all I loved the idea of that kind of fillings! I didn’t try the Premium Hi-Chew – Chardonnay White Grape Flavor but they are chewy candies with a center made from Chardonnay Grape Juice. The outside coating is made with the juice of Muscat of Alexandria. I’m looking forward to try these, although grape flavor is usually not my favorite for candies – but Japanese love grape flavored candy! A completely new world for me was the Peppered Soybean Jerky! I tried beef jerky in the past, but I didn’t know that there was actually a vegetarian version for it! These are tasteful, salty and slightly spicy. Thumbs up!

TokyoTreat Box October 2016

TokyoTreat Box Premium

Last but not least, there were 6 more products and one Sticker for the TokyoTreat Premium Box in addition to all the products above: Tropicana Season’s Best – Mix Fruit Juice, Kinoko No Yama – Chestnut Chocolate Autumn Edition, Wasabi Nori Taro, Bubbly Salty Lemonade Puccho Gummy, Meiji Grape Wine Gums, Halloween Themed Chopsticks, and the TokyoTreat Original Halloween Sticker. The Tropicana Season’s Best – Mix Fruit Juice contains highly seasonal persimmons in addition to apple, pear, peach, grape and oranges. Unfortunately, the Persimmon taste was not really recognizable. For me it tasted like a typical multivitamin juice. I didn’t try the Wasabi Nori Taro and I’m a bit hesitating to do. It is a dried fish snack with wasabi flavoring. I also didn’t try the Bubbly Salty Lemonade Puccho Gummy yet. These lemonade flavored gummy have a pinch of salt added. I liked the Meiji Grape Wine Gums, a soft whine gum with grape flavor. As you can see from the sticker it was a bonus item! My favorite from these 6 prosucts were the Kinoko No Yama – Chestnut Chocolate Autumn Edition! I loved them and they were the first product to be opened and consumed from the whole box. Loved the chestnut taste in the chocolate filling and love the shape…tiny mushrooms, so adorable! Additionally to the sweets there were Halloween themed Chopsticks included and a Sticker from TokyoTreat! Really a lovely idea!

TokyoTreat Box October 2016

All in all they made a good themed box which fits perfectly into Autumn and Halloween mood. I loved that the box included chestnut flavors for example. I’m a sucker for chocolate and biscuits, so the Koala March and the Kinoko No Yama were the first to be eaten!

TokyoTreat Box October 2016

I love how the TokyoTreat Box October 2016 fits into its Autumn and Halloween theme. The products were also well balanced between sweet and savory. It is also super nice to have three sizes of the box to select. Of Course, if your taste is not open to everything food subscription boxes are not really the best option, but if you are curious for Japan’s typical snacks I can recommend this box. Ah, you can also check out my giveaway here, by the way.

If you are interested in TokyoTreat visit their webpage, their instagram, or their facebook page.

Unboxing: Japan Candy Box September 2016 and Giveaway

11. November 2016

The last Japan Candy Box unboxing has been months ago. Time for a new one for this Japanese sweets subscription box! This is the Japan Candy Box September 2016! And as usual, there will be a giveaway at the end of this post where you have the chance to win a Japan Candy Box, so it is worth continue reading! ;) Let’s see what delicious sweets I received this time:

Japan Candy Box September 2016

Japan Candy Box is a Japanese sweets subscription box by Blippo. Apart from the Japan Candy Box they also have the Kawaii Box, which contains cute toy items, stationary, tiny plushies and so on. I’m very happy to be able to show you the Japan Candy Box September 2016! I love to try out sweets and food from different countries and one thing I especially love about Japanese products is the cute packaging design and the little details they include to make the product most enjoyable. Some of the product I knew already, but there were some new and also delicious discoveries, too!

Japan Candy Box September 2016

Each Japan Candy Box comes with a cute card listing the items that were included in the box. There are a total of 10 items for this month including all kinds of Japanese sweets and snacks.

Japan Candy Box September 2016

You already see all the colorful packaging of the different sweets and snacks popping up in the picture below. And of course all the products are cute and funny regarding their design.

Japan Candy Box September 2016

Usually, there is one DIY kit per box but for this month there were even two DIY Kits: Popin’ Cookin’ Oekaki Animal Candy Land DIY Kit and Kracie Dodotto Octopus Eggs DIY Kit. With the Popin’ Cookin’ Oekaki Animal Candy Land DIY Kit set you can make your own sweets. There are molds with differently shaped animals which you can use to create muli-colored soda-flavored gummy animals. Kracie Dodotto Octopus Eggs DIY Kit sounds not really like something that I would love to eat, but seems that you can create soda-flavored bits of candy looking like octopus eggs that can be eaten with a fizzy candy powder on top. The DIY Kits are especially fun for children!

The box also contains some savory snacks, Calbee Vegetable Snacks and Tohato Caramel Corn. I love the idea by Calbee of making snacks with other vegetables as potatoes, but bell pepper, carrot and tomato. also, they have no extra oil or fat added. I love how the Tohato Caramel Corn has a face printed on the packaging.

Japan Candy Box September 2016

The majority of the box is candy like the Kanro Pure Mini Gummies, Coris Soft Centered Grape Gum, and Kabaya Mixed Fruit Bottle Candy. Love how all three of them have purple colors :D It seems also that Japanese people love grape and especially candies with grape taste. The Kanro Pure Mini Gummies are made from 100% fruit purée with no artificial colors or flavors. These soft fruit gummies are covered in sour powder. The Coris Soft Centered Grape Gums are the perfect Trick or Treat Candy! These soft grape flavoured gum balls have a soft cola paste center, but one of the three tasty bubble gum treats is actually a super sour flavour sweet in disguise :D Lastly, the Kabaya Mixed Fruit Bottle Candy are tiny, hard candy pieces with different fruity flavours (apple, grape and orange). I love the cute packaging design of this one!

Japan Candy Box September 2016

Japanese sweets are also known for anime themed packaging or other cute illustrations, like the Lotte Pokemon Ramune Candy, the Doraemon Ramune Squash Soda Bubble Gum and the Coris Berry Mix Soft Candy. They all have the most adorable packaging designs.

Japan Candy Box September 2016

I love the Lotte Pokemon Ramune Candy Design. It displays Pikachu and has Ananas flavour. These round candy start frizzing when you eat them. By the way, Ramune is quite popular these days in Japan and it is a citrus flavoured soda drink. The Doraemon Ramune Squash Soda Bubble Gum contains five stripes of bubble gum, each wrapped in a paper with a different Doraemon design.

Japan Candy Box September 2016

The Japan Candy Box for September 2016 was full of versatile candy and snacks from Japan. I knew some of the brands, but I didn’t try any of the products in one of the previous Japan Candy Boxes. I missed the biscuits or chocolate flavoured products in this box though.  I love how they added the messages into the cardboradbox, too! If you are interested in your own Japan Candy Box  you can make a monthly subscription for this box. You can choose between several options: either to order only one box, to order three boxes (3 months subscription), 6 boxes (6 months subscription) or 12 boxes (1 year subscription). Each box retails at 19.90 US$. For the 6 months and the 12 months subscription you pay a bit less per box. Now, if you have reading so far you’ll probably be curious for the giveaway. Nu3 Insider Box Summer Edition

10. August 2016
Today's post will be about a PR Sample Box from Nu3. I decided to write the post in German since this shop is directed towards German customers. But if you want to know any details to any of the below products, please feel free to ask in the comments below. I'll be happy to answer your questions :)

Nu3 Insider Box Summer Edition

Nu3 Insider Box Summer Edition

Nu3 Insider Box Summer Edition

Nu3 Insider Box Summer Edition

Nu3 Insider Box Summer Edition

nu3 Fasten-Tee

Weleda Mandel Sensitiv Pflegedusche

Nutri-Nick Stevia Chocolate

Was haltet ihr von den Produkten? Habt ihr irgendetwas davon schon einmal ausprobiert?  Wieder einmal eine schöne Box, wovon alle Produkte gut Verwendung finden. Was meint ihr?

Nu3 Insider Box Summer Edition

Just as a short reminder: All products mentioned and reviewed on this blog are of my personal opinions. This product here was sent to me for reviewing purpose by https://www.nu3.de which doesn’t influence me in providing my honest opinion on the products.

Unboxing: TokyoTreat – Japanese Candy Subscription Box

26. July 2016

I’m always curious about snacks and candy from different countries and I love trying them out. Japan is known for candy curiosities and especially fun packaging of their candies and snacks and therefore they are the ones I love most to try. There is a fairly new Japanese Candy Subscription Box around called TokyoTreat and I’m glad I was provided with one of their awesome boxes to share my opinion with you:

Tokyotreat - Japanese Candy Subscription Box

TokyoTreat is a monthly subscription box service located in Japan and delivering handpicked candies and snacks directly from Japan. The range of their snacks and treats reaches from sweet to savory and the best part is that they have free worldwide shipping for their subscription boxes.

Tokyotreat - Japanese Candy Subscription Box

They have differently priced and sized boxes for subscribing. The smallest and also cheapest retails for 14.99 US $ and contains 5-7 full-sized japanese candies and snacks. The medium  (called regular) sized box contains 8-12 full-sized candies and snacks and a DIY Candy Kit for 24.99 US $. Tokyotreat - Japanese Candy Subscription Box

The TokyoTreat box I received is the one from April and it is the Premium box containing all the possible products you would have received (including the products from the small and regular box). The box is also the first anniversary celebrations box on the same time containing a total amount of 15 products! I will divide the products into the box categories, so you will get a better overview of how the boxes are structured.

TokyoTreat Small

Let’s start with the 6 products which would have been included in the small-sized subscription box: Meiji’s Plum Pati-Chan, Crunchy Panda Z , Karamucho Hot Chili-Flavored Chips, Calbee BBQ Flavored Sapporo Potato Snacks, Raw Ramune Candies, and Meiji’s Pucca Chocolate. The variety reaches from sweet to sour and savory and shows a good variety in Japanese candy.

The Pucca Choco Biscuits by Meiji were the first product I tried. I love chocolate and biscuit! These biscuits are shaped like sea creatures. The inside of the biscuit is filled with smooth chocolate cream filling. I really enjoyed these because they were not overly sweetened, but nicely balanced in their taste.

I learned that Calbee are Japan’s leading makers of potato snacks. The BBQ Flavored Sapporo Potato Snacks are one of their newer releases. These fluffy potato chips remind me of potato chips from Germany called Pom-Bär, except for the additional BBQ flavor. The potatoes used here are from the Sapporo region of Japan though.

Have you heard of Ramune?! This drink gas been really popular in Japan these days. On the Japan day in Düsseldorf this year it was available everywhere. The Raw Ramune Candies are candies with the taste of this drink. They are supposed to be sweet, fizzy, refreshing cubes of candy and you can even freeze them in the fridge. I didn’t try the drink because I’m fearing that this will be to sweet and I didn’t try the candy either because of that fear…maybe I’m brave enough today XD…same for the Meiji’s Plum Pati-Chan…I didn’t try this Plum flavored candy yet, but they are supposed to be tiny candy crystals with a frizzy effect.

I did try the Crunchy Panda Z biscuits though! As I said, I love chocolate and biscuits and on top they are shaped like cute panda faces. And they are delicious, too! These biscuits are made by the famous Japanese snack manufacturer Kabaya.

Lastly, there is another bag of potato chips. These are Chili flavored and from the thin and crisp kind of chips: The Karamucho Hot Chilli Chips. These had a nice taste, too, and similar to the chips in the western world.

TokyoTreat Regular

For the Regular TokyoTreat box there is a DIY Green Tea Mochi Kit included. In addition to the products from above there are these products, too: Baby Star Bonito Kelp Udon, Carrot Chopped Rice Cake, Lotte’s Koala March (Seasonal): Custard Pudding Flavor, and Scissor-Cut Grilled Seaweed.

Tokyotreat - Japanese Candy Subscription Box

I didn’t try the DIY Green Tea Mochi Kit yet, although from all the DIY kits I received in the past I’m really curious about this one because it contains green tea! Maybe worth to spend some minutes on preparing it?!

One if the products is even a tiny meal: the Baby Star Bonito Kelp Udon! It us an instant noodle meal. It comes with a flavour sachet full of classic udon noodle soup seasonings (including bonito fish extract and seaweed extract) and vegetable garnishes that add extra flavour and texture. I planned to bring this to work with me, let’s see if I like Bonito and Kelp taste.

The Carrot Chopped Rice Cake are tiny crunchy rice crisps packed in a carrot shaped packaging. It doesn’t have any carrot taste though, simply sweetened Rice puffs- a nice snack.

If you have followed me for a while you will know that I love Lotte Koala March biscuits. The regular sized TokyoTreat box came with a limited edition of these adorable biscuits: Custard Pudding flavor! A nice and new taste, although the strawberry and chocolate flavours are still my favorite.

The last product for the regular box are the Scissor-Cut Grilled Seaweed Pieces. This is quite a snack with tradition. the bits of salted roasted seaweed have a wasabi flavour and are quite crisp. For seaweed lovers this snack is ideal.

TokyoTreat Premium

We are almost at the end. Here are the products which were included in the Premium Box in addition to the products above: Baby Star Yakisoba Sauce Flavor,  a Hello Kitty Purse, Chocolate Monaca, and as a special the limited Pepsi Sakura.

Tokyotreat - Japanese Candy Subscription Box

It seems there has been a real hype about the limited edition Pepsi Sakura. This pale pink colored drink has a sweet sakura taste and fits perfectly to spring. It was a bit to sweet for me, but still interesting to try.

I loved the Chocolate Monaca biscuits. The waffle biscuit was filled with a chocolate cream and rice crisps and it was quite filling and satisfying, too.

The Baby Star Yakisoba Sauce Flavor noodle snack is quite popular in Japan. It is a combination of bit sized ramen noodles and savory Yakisoba flavor and has a nice taste all in all. Perfect for an in-between snack.

The last one is the special item. My box included a Hello Kitty Purse.  A Doraemon purse was also included in some other boxes instead. A nice little extra merchandising add-on to complete this amazing TokyoTreat Box!

Tokyotreat - Japanese Candy Subscription Box

Phew, that was a lot of pictures and writing. I hope some of you made it through to the end XD. All in all, the TokyoTreat Subscription box is a versatile Japanese candy and snack box with a good variety of products. some of the products are even seasonal and limited and rarely available, even if the brand itself is known in western countries, too, like the Lotte Koala Biscuits and the Pepsi. I also do love the three options which are provided for the box. You can decide for yourself how many candy you want to try and whether you like to have a DIY kit and drinks included or not. There is also a members monthly roulette were you can win a lucky box filled with all kinds of japanese merchandising, which is really a nice add-on.

If you are interested in TokyoTreat visit their webpage, their instagram, or their facebook page.

What is your impression of the TokyoTreat subscription box?

DIY Coconut Matcha Body Butter with Indigo Nutrition Organic Virgin Coconut Oil

25. May 2016

// PR SAMPLE / DIY / BEAUTY //

Coconut oil is one of those household products you will be able to find easily available and very versatile and useful. Surely, the main purpose of coconut oil is cooking. It can be used with higher temperatures and gives an exotic flavour to the dish. Furthermore it is quite healthy, since it is more heat resistant than other oils for example. However, coconut oil also has many other uses, and especially a huge amount of beauty uses and it has become one of my favorite ingredients and must-have products.

DIY Coconut Matcha Body Butter

I received a huge jar Organic Virgin Coconut Oil from Indigo Nutrition for reviewing purpose and I decided to use this review to share one of my quickest DIY beauty recipes with you: an easy one-ingredient DIY Coconut Matcha Body Butter!…Okay, to be honest, I used two ingredients: Matcha powder and coconut oil, but mainly for the color :D The recipe works absolutely fine with only coconut oil.

DIY Coconut Matcha Body Butter

Coconut oil can be used for haircare, bodycare, makeupremover….there are so many options and you can really be creative with using it. When I do not use it for cooking I’m using a nut-sized bit of the oil as extra care for my dry ends of my hair. Another way I love using coconut oil is a s body moisturizer. That scent is simply amazing!

DIY Coconut Matcha Body Butter

Here is my recipe for a quick DIY Coconut Matcha Body Butter made from coconut oil. You can go with one ingredient only, which is the coconut oil, but if you want to you can add some vitamin E or essential oils. I tried one with matcha powder this time:

DIY Coconut Matcha Body Butter

Mainly you will need these things for making your own coconut body butter: a handmixer (or kitchenaid), coconut oil, a bowl, and a jar to store your product afterwards. The steps are super simple to follow:

  1. Put a desired amount of coconut oil into the bowl. It should not be too few, because you will want to use the mixer.
  2. Add whatever ingredient you want to combine, like Vitamin E, or essential oils. I went for some matcha powder.
  3. Warm up the bowl in a sauce pan with water until the coconut is melted and you can combine your ingredients nicely.
  4. When everything is combined put your bowl into the freezer for 20 minutes until the coconut oil has retained a more solid consistency, but still soft enough to be mixed.
  5. Start mixing your coconut oil mixture until it turns solid and creamy like butter. This might take some minutes (depending on your mixer)
  6. Fill the butter into a jar and keep it stored in the fridge until used.

DIY Coconut Matcha Body Butter

You will get the softest butter, which melts instantly into the skin and stays creamy and spreadable despite being in the fridge. Just have a look at the pretty green color the matcha powder gave it! On top, with a good quality virgin coconut oil you will smell of coconut all day! Get the Indigo Nutrition Organic Virgin Coconut Oil  from Indigo Nutrion and try your own simple coconut body butter!

Let me know if you try the recipe for the DIY Coconut Matcha Body Butter! :)

Nu3 Insider Box März 2016

7. April 2016
Today's post will be about a PR Sample Box from Nu3. I decided to write the post in German since this shop is directed towards German customers. But if you want to know any details to any of the below products, please feel free to ask in the comments below. I'll be happy to answer your questions :)

nu3 Acai Pulver

nu3 Berry Burst

Lavera Regenerierenden Bodymilk Bio-Cranberry & Arganöl

Organique Sensitive Haarmaske

Energizing Carrot Smoothie

10. March 2016

Only few of you might know that I actually love cooking. Occasionally you will find me post some pictures on my Instagram. And despite my love for food I never posted any recipes on my blog. I want to make Berries in the Snow more versatile, than writing one review followed by the next and maybe you saw some of my recent fashion posts for example. Yet, one of my ideas is to post some recipes from time to time. Please tell me what you think about it? I’ll start of with a very simple recipe, which is my favorite energizing carrot smoothie.

Energizing Carrot Smoothie

I love drinking a smoothie in the morning! I never have been much of a breakfast person. Mostly I’m satisfied with a bowl of cereals and for around 2 years I started to drink smoothies from time to time. I started with the regular green smoothies, made of leafy greens and fruits, but I discovered that this much simpler carrot smoothie just makes me feel more awake in the morning.

Energizing Carrot Smoothie

You only need three simple ingredients for this recipe: apple, ginger, and carrots! Since it can be difficult for a smoothie maker to use carrot you can go with 100% carrot juice, either using a juice extractor or by simply buying some carrot juice. You should try to find a juice without additives, just simple pure carrot juice. Optionally, you might want to add a teaspoon of olive oil or coconut oil.

Energizing Carrot Smoothie

Carrots are rich in provitamin A, but it is not so easy for our bodies to resorb it. Provitamin A is used to build up vitamin A. Vitamin A and provitamin A are both fat soluble, so adding some oil helps out body to absorb the vitamin. The oil already helps a lot, but also the smaller the pieces of carrots are, the easier it is for our body to resorb the provitamin A. So, a carrot smoothie with a bit of oil is perfect to get the most out of the carrots.

Energizing Carrot Smoothie

For preparing our energizing carrot smoothie we need to chop all the ingredients and toss them into our blender or smoothie maker. You do not need to peel the ginger, but wash it before use.

Energizing Carrot Smoothie

Start to blend up the ingredients. If you feel the juice is not enough add some more, until your blender has created a smooth and yet liquid consistency.

Energizing Carrot Smoothie

Et voilà, it’s as simple as this! If you like you might sweeten the smoothie with some honey, but I like it as it is. The spiciness of the ginger just gives me that energy I like for breakfast.

Energizing Carrot Smoothie

Do you love self-made smoothies? Hope you like my recipe and I hope to hear some feedback, too! Bon Appétit!
