Blogparade: Best of BeautyPress Goodiebags

17. November 2018

//PR SAMPLES / BEAUTY/ SKINCARE //

Today's post will be about my favorite products from the BeautyPress event I attended recently. I decided to write the post in German. But if you want to know any details to any of the products below, please feel free to ask in the comments below. I'll be happy to answer your questions :)

Blogparade: Best of BeautyPress Goodiebags

Blogparade: Best of BeautyPress Goodiebags

Fangen wir direkt mal mit meinen Lieblingen an. Es war ziemlich schwer sich auf eine überschaubare Anzahl an Produkten festzulegen, aber letztendlich haben es diese 5-6 Produkte geschafft mich zu überzeugen.

Dr.Grandel Hyaluron Love Edition

Blogparade: Best of BeautyPress Goodiebags

Gehwol Soft Feet Pflegebad

Blogparade: Best of BeautyPress Goodiebags

Blogparade: Best of BeautyPress Goodiebags

4ever Young by Asam beauty Black & Beautiful Lashes

Blogparade: Best of BeautyPress Goodiebags

Was sagt ihr dazu? Was hört sich für euch davon besonders interessant an? Vergesst nicht bei den anderen Mädels der Blogparade vorbei zu schauen und weitere Produkte zu entdecken.

Just as a short reminder: All products mentioned and reviewed on this blog are of my personal opinions. This product here was sent to me for reviewing purpose by https://www.beautypress.de/ which doesn’t influence me in providing my honest opinion on the products.

Review: Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

9. November 2018

//AD / PR SAMPLE / SKINCARE //

Long time, no Vitamin C Serum Review! But today it is time for a new Vitamin C Serum I have in use these days, the Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

Dermalogica is an American Personal Care company and their products are sold in more than 80 countries all over the world. that means that it is quite likely, that you have heard of this brand before.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

Vitamin C

Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) is always good to have in your skincare routine. I have tried a couple of serums in the past (check >>here<<). Vitamin C is an antioxidant and thus can prevent our skin from aging too early and from sun-damage. A high concentration of Vitamin C doesn’t mean automatically that it is more effective concerning anti-aging. Normally, a high concentration of Vitamin C aims at a visible effect, because it tends to operate as a chemical peeling by loosening dead and old cells. This is not a bad effect and stimulates the skin to regenerate itself, but keep in mind that it won’t affect the inner cell layers of your skin which have to be aimed if you really want an anti-aging effect. The thing about Vitamin C is, that it oxidizes with time, and you have to use it up very quickly. You will see as the color of some serums will get more yellowish with time. A possibility to prevent the vitamin C from oxidizing is to stabilize it with ferulic acid or vitamin E or use derivates. The Dermalogica Biolumin C Serum uses the approach of an ultra-stable Vitamin C Complex.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

According to the description that you find on the cardboard box of the product it says that the Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum is a high-performance serum that enhances the skin’s natural defense system. It acts brightening, firming and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Additionally, it is combined with AHA and peptide in enhancing its positive effects on the skin.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

The cardboard box also lists the ingredients of the serum on one side.

Water/Aqua/Eau, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Ethoxydiglycol, Lactic Acid, Salvia Hispanica (Chia) Seed Extract, Sodium PCA, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Sophora Japonica Flower Extract, Ascorbyl Methylsilanol Pectinate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopherol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Aminopropyl Ascorbyl Phosphate, Trehalose, Polyacrylate-13, Propanediol, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Polyisobutene, Methylpropanediol, Carrageenan, Pentylene Glycol, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Xanthan Gum, Polysorbate 20, Limonene, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol

The AHA used in the serum is Lactic Acid. You can also see how Vitamin C derivates have been combined with Vitamin E (Tocopherol). The product is free from paraben, sulfate, alcohol, and silicone. Also, it contains Hyaluronic Acid for hydration. Since it contains active ingredients that chemically peel your skin you should keep in mind to use sunscreen during day. This is also noted on the packaging information. I used the serum during my night routine, and yet I use sunscreen during the day.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

The serum comes in a bottle with a dropper as a cap. The bottle is opaque, which is great in case of Vitamin C. The bottle is made of glass by the way and seems to be sturdy.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

Upon opening you see that the serum has a milky texture with a light yellowish color. It has an orange scent, which is not very intense or heavy. The serum has a smooth feeling upon application and feels hydrating, too. It sinks quickly into the skin and leaves a tiny bit of tackiness.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

I used the serum every night for the last 3 weeks. I enjoyed using it and I had no negative experience regarding texture or irritated skin. The Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum works well with other products that are applied below or above the serum. I cannot say how it will work in combination with any makeup product though. What I definitely see is, that my skin is appearing more smooth and that my makeup gets less flakey these days. This is probably thanks to the combination of the AHA and VitaminC/E. I didn’t notice any big changes regarding wrinkles, but I don’t have very prominent ones either. I can confirm though, that the skin feels more glowy and plump.

Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum

The Dermalogica Biolumon-C Serum was a positive surprise for me. It works nicely and combines some great and effective ingredients. I’m not sure, whether it will replace my all-time-favorite, the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop. Especially, since this serum is way pricier.

You can get the serum for 89€ from Dermalogica.

Review: Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

22. October 2018

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / AFFILIATE LINKS //

The search for good sunscreens that can be used on a daily basis and are also suited for the face and any follow-up makeup is always a big topic within the skincare community. Klairs, one of my favorite KBeauty brands had launched a sunscreen in the past, that was surprisingly disappointing, but now they released a new sunscreen, the Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence. You can imagine my curiosity for this product, and so I was more than happy to find this among my packages some weeks ago. Here is my opinion on this new product by Klairs:

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

Klairs is a Korean brand which is eco-friendly, producing products which are animal-testing-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free, artificial-color-free and recently they are vegan, too. Their products address people with sensitive skin and people who want to moisturize their skin. I reviewed some of their products before, like the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum (repurchased that one 4 times already!) or the Klairs Midnight Blue Cream, which both convinced me in their effects. Their saying “Simple but Enough” really nails it and I think that many people will agree on that point with me.

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

The Klairs Soft Airy UC Essence comes with SPF50+ PA ++++ and is a lightweight daily sunscreen that protects the skin from UVA and UVB. Thereby, it claims to leave no greasiness, nor a white cast. The broad spectrum sunscreen has a water-based gel-texture and comes in a (quite unusual) large tube containing 80ml. The design of the tube is simple, as expected for the brand. The tube is packed inside a cardboard box with the typical holographic design that you know from the Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask or the Vitamin C Drop.

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

As a general rule for sunscreens, you should apply the product ahead of sun exposure and reapply every now and then. There, every 3 hours is suggested for the Klairs Soft airy UV Essence.

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

The ingredients of the Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence are stated on the cardboard box, but you will also find the information on Wishtrend.

Water (Aqua), Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Butylene Glycol, Dibutyl Adipate, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Silica, Cetearyl Olivate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sorbitan Olivate, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Sorbitan Stearate, Panthenol, Beta-Glucan, Disodium EDTA, Citrus Junos Fruit Extract, Adenosine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopherol, Allantoin, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil

According to SkinCarisma, the product is free from parabens, sulfates, silicons, and alcohol. It is EU allergen free, too! The UV protection is realized by using Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate and Ethylhexyl Triazone. Moreover, there is Niacinamide for brightening and anti-aging included. Tocopherol (Vitamin E) and Adenosine have anti.aging properties, too. Panthenol and Hyaluronic Acid provide moisture and have soothing properties. The list of ingredients is neither very short, but not huge either.

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

For me personally, I love the larger size of the sunscreen. Usually, Korean sunscreens come with 50ml of volume. If you want to try out various sunscreens this is the perfect volume. But if you have found your current favorite you’ll have to repurchase very often. Also, the larger volume makes it suited to be used on the whole body, without emptying the tubes too quickly.

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

As you see below, the sunscreen has a milky-essence type texture and a slightly yellowish color. Upon application it is very watery and feels moisturizing and refreshing, on the other hand, it soaks in pretty quickly. Unlike other sunscreens, you need less time to pat it into the skin and there is definitely NO WHITE CAST! It feels so lightweight and no film or residue is left on the skin.

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

For me, the Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence has no specific scent, by the way. It has a cooling sensation when applied that lasts for a moment. I didn’t observe any tackiness or stickiness, and it was not irritating during the time I used the product.

Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence

I have a couple of sunscreens in my routine at the moment but there are only two that I really really love to use every day. The Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence is one of them, and I can only recommend it if you haven’t found your holy grail daily sun protection. You can buy the Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence from Wishtrend for 23 US$. Also, check out my page for Coupons and Discount, to save some bucks on your order. I have reviewed so many other products from the brand Klairs and I can say that this is one of my favorite Kbeauty brands with a great variety of products. Check out all my Klairs reviews >>here<<.

Have you tried any Klairs products? What do you think about this sunscreen?

Review: Erborian Bamboo Skincare

17. October 2018

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / SKINCARE //

During this very hot summer, I discovered my love for the Erborian Bamboo Skincare. I already wrote about the Erborian Matte Cream some days ago, and during the same period, I also tested the Bamboo Skincare Line, specifically, the Erborian Bamboo Shot Mask, The Erborian Bamboo Pore Minimizing Powder Effect Essence, and the Erborian Bamboo Moisturizing Matte Effect Eye Contour Gel. Thank you, Erborian & YBPN for the opportunity and for providing me with these products as PR sample.

Erborian Bamboo

“Achieve perfect skin with simple and unique products, that’s Erborian’s mission.”

Erborian is a Kbeauty brand based in France and Korea. Co-founder Katalin Berenyi discovered during a visit in South Korea that Korean Women had a very clear and good skin and she learned about Korean beauty rituals and brought them to Europe, founding the brand Erborian together with Hojung Lee, a Korean scientist with a passion for beauty. Erborian adapts Asian skincare expertise to beauty rituals around the world, creating a variety of unique and effective skincare and makeup products.

Erborian Bamboo

Bamboo Waterlock Complex

The focus ingredient is bamboo. Here, Erborian combines bamboo sap and fiber to create its Bamboo Waterlock Complex. The sap contains amino acids for hydration, while the fiber contains proteins and lipids for maintaining the skin’s natural moisture retention.

Erborian Bamboo

Erborian Bamboo Pore Minimizing Powder Effect Essence

The Erborian Bamboo Pore Minimizing Powder Effect Essence helps to reduce the appearance of pores. At the same time, it is also helping to plump, smooth and energize your skin. It provides continuous hydration and absorbs excess sebum throughout the day. This makes the skin look smooth and silky, with a matte finish.

Erborian Bamboo

The Erborian Bamboo Pore Minimizing Powder Effect Essence comes in a glass bottle with a dropper for dispensing. In order to use the essence, it is recommended to apply three pearl-sized drops of the product on the face during morning and/or night. I only used the essence during my daytime routine, in order to switch to a richer skincare during the night.

Erborian Bamboo

The key ingredients of the essence are:

Bamboo Waterlock Complex for moisturizing
Ophiopogon Japonicus Root Extract as an antioxidant
Japanese persimmon leaf extract (Diospyros kaki) as antioxidant and astringent
Pumpkin seed oil for moisturizing, preventing skin dehydration, helping to maintain natural hydration

Erborian Bamboo

The full ingredients list is stated on the cardboard box, but you can also check for the ingredients on SkinCarisma, of course.

Water, Glycerin, Alcohol, Dipropylene Glycol, Silica, Dimethicone, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Phyllostachis Bambusoides Extract, Phyllostachis Bambusoides Juice, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Ophiopogon Japonicus Root Extract, Diospyros Kaki Leaf Extract, Fomes Officinalis (Mushroom) Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Phenoxyethanol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Lauryl PEG-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Zinc PCA, Allantoin, Panthenol, Propanediol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Isoceteth-10, Sclerotium Gum, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Beta-Glucan, 1,2-Hexanediol, Fragrance, Linalool, Geraniol, Limonene, CI 19140, CI 42090

The Erborian Bamboo Pore Minimizing Powder Effect Essence is free from paraben and sulfates, but it does contain alcohol and fragrance. It also contains silicones. Apart from the plant-based key ingredients stated above, there are some other great components here: Tocopherol (Vitamin E) for aids with skin regeneration and elasticity. Hyaluronic acid, Glycerin, and Panthenol are great for moisturizing. Allantoin has soothing properties.

Erborian Bamboo

This essence has a milky consistency and a light green color. It has a fresh scent and emulsifies to a water-like texture, once rubbed in. The Erborian Bamboo Pore Minimizing Powder Effect Essence absorbs quickly and leaves the skin slightly tightened and smooth. The texture also feels refreshing on the skin and has a cooling effect. This, of course, helps to make the pores appear smaller and blurred out. There is no sticky or greasy feeling once the serum is absorbed, by the way!

Erborian Bamboo

Erborian Bamboo Moisturizing Matte-Effect Eye Contour Gel

The Erborian Bamboo Moisturizing Matte-Effect Eye Contour Gel helps to visibly reduce the signs of fatigue: fine dehydration lines, under-eye bags, and skin dryness. The matte finish helps to soften the appearance of under-eye bags.

Erborian Bamboo

This eye gel comes in a sleek pumping bottle. I used one full pump for both eyes (under eyes and lids). Then I tap slightly with my ring finger until it is partially absorbed. I usually continue with my other skincare steps and by the time I’m done the eye gel is absorbed.

Erborian Bamboo

Here the key ingredients are:

Bamboo Waterlock Complex for moisturizing
Ophiopogon Japonicus Root Extract as an antioxidant
Japanese persimmon leaf extract (Diospyros kaki) as an antioxidant and astringent
Sodium Hyaluronate for moisturizing
Arginine for neutralizing irritating sensation

Erborian Bamboo

The full ingredients list of the product is stated on the cardboard box again:

Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Propanediol, Pentylene Glycol, Phyllostachis Bambusoides Extract, Diospyros Kaki Leaf Extract, Panthenol, Phyllostachis Bambusoides Juice, Ophiopogon Japonicus Root Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Arginine, Silica, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Sodium PCA, Phenoxyethanol, Xanthan Gum, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Ethylhexylglycerin, Glyceryl Caprylate, Isoceteth-25, Isoceteth-10

The Erborian Bamboo Moisturizing Matte-Effect Eye Contour Gel is free from paraben, sulfate, silicone, alcohol, and EU-allergens, according to SkinCarisma. It has panthenol and Sodium Hyaluronate for moisturizing and wound-healing, too, apart from the key ingredients stated above.

Erborian Bamboo

This eye gel was so lovely to use during the summer. It really had this cooling effect and thereby was perfect for refreshing your eyes and make you look less tired. You almost can see the moist and jelly consistency below in the pics!

Erborian Bamboo

Erborian Bamboo Shot Mask

Last, but not least, the Erboian Bamboo Shot Mask: Since I only have one piece of the mask, this will be more a description, rather than a full review. This sheet mask gives a burst of freshness thanks to a structure made from smooth cellulose fibers, which helps to diffuse its active ingredients. The Bamboo Waterlock complex, which was stated for the other products already is used here as well. It is supposed to deliver the skin with freshness, moisture, and soothing effect. The sheet mask is soaked in a highly concentrated liquid, and according to the description, the result should be like if you apply a serum. Below, you see the full ingredients list:

Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol, Phyllostachis Bambusoides Extract, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Pentylene Glycol, Phyllostachis Bambusoides Juice, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Ophiopogon Japonicus Root Extract, Diospyros Kaki Leaf Extract, Phenoxyethanol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Carbomer, Arginine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Polyglutamic Acid, Fragrance, Linalool, Geraniol

The sheet mask is free from paraben, silicones, and sulfates. It contains alcohol and fragrances. You can check the ingredients via SkinCarisma, too. The mask has a thin texture and is fully soaked. Despite the thin material, it is a bit “stiffer” and not easy to tear. I used my mask for 20 minutes and it wasn’t dried out yet. Even the sachet had some serum remained to use on your neck and arms, etc. Once the essence is absorbed the skin feels a bit tacky, but it feels moisturized and refreshed.

Erborian Bamboo

My favorite of these three products is definitely the eye gel! I used it up super quickly (yeah, it’s empty already…:(…), but the refreshing effect was so perfect for the season, that I couldn’t stop using it. What I also like about the eye gel is its ingredients. It is the only one out of the three products which is free from parabens, sulfates, silicones, alcohol and EU allergens. Especially, since the area around the eyes is so delicate and can be easily irritated. I still like the matte essence second best and use it very often. I can recommend it, especially for day-time use, because of the tightening feeling and the mattifying effect it has. The sheet mask gives a good moisturizing boost, but regarding the high price for one sheet, I personally would not repurchase it. Since sheet masks are a one-time useable product it is not very profitable, especially if you want to use a sheet mask 2 or 3 times a week…

Erborian Bamboo Shot Mask: US 7.50 US$EU 6.90 € (per piece)

Erborian Bamboo Eye Gel : US 34 US$ / EU 29 € (15 ml)

Erborian Bamboo Matte Essence: 45 US$ / EU 39 € (30 ml)

Which one do you like best?

Have you heard of the Erborian Bamboo Skincare Products? Do you agree that gel type formulations are the best for summer?

Review: Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

10. October 2018

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / AFFILIATE LINKS //

Did you ever have any special opinion about Sea Buckthorn in skincare? Honestly, I never thought about it before I started trying the Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream. Usually, when I hear Sea Buckthorn I think about tea, winter, and herbal scents. But then I received this orange tube of facial cream from Purito and suddenly I was obsessed with it! Why? Let me explain!

Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

Purito is a rather young Korean brand with cruelty-free and 10-free skin care products. The products are free from paraben, ethanol, surfactants, artificial coloring, fragrance, triethanolamine, phthalein, triclosan, petrochemicals, and benzoyl peroxide. Moreover, the products gain a lot of popularity these days because of their short and yet effective ingredients list. I have reviewed the Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum and the Purito Snail Repair Advanced 91 Serum and my beloved Purito Centella Green Level All In One Mild Pads before and there are more to come in future!

Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

The Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream is a nourishing moisturizer enriched with 70% Sea Buckthorn Fruit extract, highly concentrated with vitamins, and therefore the perfect brightening care for making dark and dull skin revitalized. The cream comes in a tube and contains 50ml of volume. Like all Purito skincare, the product comes packed in a cardboard box with all the relevant information. The design of Purito products is not especially cute or elaborate, but the products have a signature look and each skin care line has a defined color depending on the key ingredient. Here orange is the signature color.

Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

Sea Buckthorn

Hippophae Rhamnoides, also known as Sea Buckthorn or Sandthorn, is a plant commonly spread in Europe and Asia. It has been used in ancient Greek as an herbal remedy for skin diseases, digestive problems and as medicine. These days the plant is used and valued for many reasons. The Sea Buckthorn fruit is known to have a high content of vitamins, especially vitamin C. But it doesn’t end with vitamin C, the fruit extract also is rich in Vitamin E, D, E, and B. Additionally, it is rich in amino and fatty acids. All these components of the Sea Buckthorn Fruit extract act positively when applied topically on our skin. Vitamins prevent aging and have exfoliating properties. Fatty acids keep the skin hydrated, smooth, and resilient. This leads to glowy and brightened skin. With 70% Sea Buckthorn Fruit extracts this cream provides the skin with 2000mg Vitamin C, and that’s really amazing!

Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

Ingredients of the Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract (70%), Methlypropanediol, Glycerin, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Niacinamide, Polyglyceryl-3 Methyglucose Distearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Phenyl Trimethicone, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Citrus Unshiu Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Butylene Glycol, Adenosine, Panthenol, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Sorbitan Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, 1,2- Hexanedoil, Carbomer, Arginine, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA

When we look at the full list of ingredients of the Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream we will spot Orange Peel Oil and Satsuma Orange Extract as natural fragrances. The cream also has a wonderful fruity and orangy scent that is addictive and nothing like the artificial orange scents that remind you of bathroom cleansers. Then we have 4% Macadamia Seed Oil included in this cream for hydration. This is accompanied by glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and panthenol. Last, but not least, niacinamide for more brightening properties. According to SkinCarisma all the ingredients are safe to use according to EWG!

Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

The Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream has a mix between balm-type texture and gel texture. The color of the cream is light orange, and as I said before, it has a wonderful and very natural orange scent that reminds me of the moment you peel oranges. The cream spreads smoothly and feels nourishing and hydrating at the same time. I also feel like my skin feels moisturized all day and even after it is absorbed the skin will feel more bouncy. This cream doesn’t absorb fully and without a trace like for example the A;T Fox Tea Tock Water Cream, but will leave a feeling of a moisturized skin if you know how I mean the difference. I would describe the texture as suited better for dry skin types because it has a kind of richness to it.

Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

Inside of the cardboard box of the Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream, there is a cute comic describing the brightening effect of the cream with help of Snow White and the Evil Queen: the Queen wants to have smooth and bright skin like Snow White. According to the magical mirror of the Queen, this cream is supposed to be the solution for it. After having used half of the tube excessively I can confirm that this cream gives you the most wonderful glowy and bright skin! I’m so addicted to this moisturizer and it’s been a long time that I have used a cream so rigorously.

Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream

Do you love orange scents? Are you looking for a cream that gives you ultra glow and bright skin, and is nourishing and hydrating at the same time? If yes, the Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream might be the perfect solution for you. Plus, a short ingredients list consisting mainly of Sea Buckthorn Fruit Extract and all EWG green level ingredients! Hands down, this is a perfect cream for me!

The tube retails for 19 US$ from the official page, but you can also get it from Beautytap for the same price (use the code BERRIES15 for 15% off non-sale products). Also, check out my discount and coupons page for the latest deals.

Review: Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

8. October 2018

// SKINCARE / KBEAUTY / AFFILIATE LINKS //

If you saw my latest empties post on Instagram you probably discovered the Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule in my picture there. Unfortunately, I used up the last drops of it and I’ve probably never been more sad about using up a serum or ampoule this time. This ampoule has probably been reviewed a lot of times before and there have been comparisons to another high-end brand night serum in the past. I have no comparison to other products here, only my honest review about using this serum in the last months.

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

The Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule is from the famous Korean brand Missha. Missha has a lot of online stores all over the world and are available in US/Canada, Australia and even in Germany. It was the first Korean brand with a physical store in Germany, too! The products always come in a very mature and luxurious packaging and the design is usually very elegant although simple. I think that it can be liked by almost everyone. The aim of Missha is to create quality products that are affordable.

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

The Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule is directed towards anti-aging and brightening, using purple botanical ingredients like blueberries, aronia, beets, red cabbage, and purple carrots and combining these with lactic acid fermentation ingredients. It’s a powerful ampoule designed for nighttime use, making the skin smoother, firmer, revitalized, and stronger.

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

The ampoule comes in a signature purple color that refers to the purple plant ingredients used. The elegant glass bottle with an attached dropper comes packed in a cardboard box of the same color and design. The packaging looks timeless and elegant!

The ingredients list of this highly concentrated ampoule might put you off at first glance, but don’t fear the long list. The ingredients are very beneficial and combine a lot of goodness!

First of all, according to SkinCarisma the Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule is free from parabens, sulfates, alcohol, and EU-allergens. The ingredients are safe to use, and there is only one ingredient that could be irritating for sensitive skin types. This ingredient is Retinol! So if you have been looking for effective anti-aging ingredients you will have stumbled upon Retinol. Retinol, or Vitamin A, can cause skin reactions, including peeling, redness, scaling, itching, and burning, and also increases the risk of sunburns and sun-induced mutations. Although retinol is a great anti-aging ingredient you have to keep these points in mind and use sunscreen during the day to protect your skin from the UV rays to avoid its side effects. I guess the percentage of retinol in this ampoule is very low, but still, you should keep in mind to use sunscreen during the day while using ingredients that have these kinds of chemical peeling properties.

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

Most of the ingredients of the Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule have moisturizing properties and are perfect for hydrating the skin. Panthenol, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or chamomile extract are some of these ingredients. The latter is also a great soothing ingredient, while panthenol and hyaluronic acid also have wound-healing properties. Other ingredients like niacinamide, vitamin C derivates, adenosine, and retinol have brightening and anti-aging properties. Additionally, there are four different kinds of ferments included, combining Lactobacillus, Bifida, Lactococcus, and Leuconostoc! I love Fermented ingredients! Ferment filtrates have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial activity when applied in concentrations of 5% or more. They have skin conditioning properties, are nutrient-rich, and contains many vitamins, amino acids, and proteins and helps to improve the moisture level of the skin.

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

In order to use the product you take out the ampoule and dispense the desired amount into your palms and apply it to your skin. The best way is, of course, working upwards and outwards along your facial features. The warmth of your hand will help the ampoule to sink into your skin. I used this product as the last step before my sleeping mask or night cream. In the next morning, I’ve always used a sunscreen. The attached dropper makes it easy to dispense the product. since it is a glass dropper you can see the slightly red/orange colored ampoule. The serum absorbs fast and glides easily across the skin. It doesn’t feel heavy, despite all the ingredients included.

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule

In my opinion, this ampoule really makes the skin feel smoother, hydrated, and more firm. I loved the effects in the next morning. The only downside is probably the price, sometimes 50ml are sold for around 40US$ or more. The second point is (I don’t know if that is a downside though) that Missha constantly has new formulations of their products, especially for this ampoule and the Missha Time Revolution First Essence. This can be irritating and makes it sometimes complicated to read the proper review for it. If you love to have one concentrated product that combines many beneficial ingredients in one you will love this ampoule. If you rather prefer a highly moisturizing serum, without any fuss, you can more likely switch to a serum or ampoule with a high concentration of hyaluronic acid and achieve satisfying results as well. I personally love the extra smoothness of the ferments here, and all these good anti-oxidants from the purple plants.

Review: Mamonde High Cover Cushion Perfect Liquid | TesterKorea Beauty Tester

5. October 2018

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / MAKEUP //

Long time no cushion review! This Mamonde High Cover Cushion Perfect Liquid is the last product of the round-up by TesterKorea within the frame of their Beauty Tester Event. I love using cushion foundations, because of the natural finish and the convenience they have. You can take them along and touch up your makeup whenever needed. Let’s see how this cushion from the KBeauty brand Mamonde will perform:

Mamonde High Cover Cushion Perfect Liquid

First, some information about TesterKorea: if you know me and my blog for some time you will know that TesterKorea is my favorite online retailer for larger KBeauty hauls. I’ve purchased products from them many times and they never failed me. Also, they are quite popular for offering many free samples and having a LARGE variety of samples for sale as well. If you do not know a specific product and you want to test it I can recommend you TesterKorea. Also, they have a huge amount of different products from many brands, so you can be sure to find what you are looking for in most cases. Unlike other online retailers they do not offer free shipping, though, but their shipping is based on weight. The cheap prices of the products themselves totally balances out the shipping costs in my eyes – especially for larger hauls. They even have a specific topic where you can request a product if it is newly launched. They are also quite fast in listing the latest products from most brands. Considering the fact that I know they are a reliable retailer and have a good reputation makes me even more happy that I’m part of their new Beauty Tester round-up.

Mamonde High Cover Cushion Perfect Liquid

The funny thing about the brand Mamonde is that I have known it for ages, but I hardly ever reviewed their products…strangely enough! Mamonde is a brand by Amore Pacific and has been founded over 25 years ago. The brand’s motto is to believe in the power of flowers and use flower extracts in their cosmetic products. I’ve always been drawn to the rose skincare line of this brand because I love everything with roses!

Mamonde High Cover Cushion Perfect Liquid

Mamonde High Cover Cushion Perfect Liquid

The Mamonde High Cover Cushion Perfect Liquid Cushion is my first cushion from the brand and it is a cushion foundation that comes in three different shades. I have selected the darkest shade, which is No.23, a beige, but still quite a light tone. Sorry, for all the tanned people out there at this point! The cushion is a high coverage cushion with a matte finish and SPF 34/PA++. The cushion is perfectly suited for people with acne and skin irritations and for combination and oily skin types, but it also can be used on other skin types.

Mamonde High Cover Cushion Perfect Liquid

Mamonde High Cover Cushion Perfect Liquid

As all cushion foundations, the Mamonde High Cover Cushion Perfect Liquid comes in a compact pact with a mirror and an application puff. The liquid foundation is located inside an airtight packaging, unlike many “first generation” cushions, that had simply a soaked sponge as the cushion. Pressing the packaging releases the liquid foundation through the cushion. It is advised to apply the foundation first with a foundation brush ( or the so-called Mamonde Flower Petal Brush, which is sold separately) and use the included puff for touchups. This foundation has finer cover powder thanks to Mamonde’s Fine Pixel Cover Technology, which results in a flawless finish. Additionally, it has a reflecting effect due to the Volume Up Light Powder. Round-shaped silica powder and silicon gel fill the pores and gaps and make the skin look even and smooth. The puff also sticks very closely to the skin and helps to create this smooth effect.

Mamonde High Cover Cushion Perfect Liquid

I was very skeptical at first because usually high coverage cushion foundations with a matte effect tend to make dry skin types look even drier and flaky throughout the day. I loved the airtight cushion at first glance though and that fact that it wasn’t simply a soaked sponge, but the product was only released when needed. Then I was a bit shocked that the darkest shade I selected (23) was still a bit too light even for my skin tone. Usually, shade 23 fits my skin just right. I was almost hopeless and didn’t want to wear it, but after some consideration, I gave it a try anyway. Yes, it is still a bit too light for my summer skin, but I hope that it will adjust within the next months. But my fears regarding dryness have not been confirmed and I must say that this cushion has a great coverage and lasting power! Even though it was raining and windy throughout the day the skin looked smooth and good when I returned home. That was the biggest surprise of all!

Mamonde High Cover Cushion Perfect Liquid

Mamonde High Cover Cushion Perfect Liquid

The Mamonde High Cover Cushion Perfect Liquid has fulfilled all its claims and surprised me with a great coverage and long-lasting effect without making my skin flaky and dry. The airtight liquid cushion container is a great way to keep the foundation as fresh as possible, too! I would even love this more when it’s available in more shades for people with tanned skin and darker skin tones!

The Mamonde High Cover Cushion Perfect Liquid retails for 21250Won at TesterKorea, which makes around 22 US$.

Review: Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow | TesterKorea Beauty Tester

4. October 2018

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / MAKEUP //

I received a few items from TesterKorea within the frame of their Beauty Tester Event. Today, I want to talk about the Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow. When it comes to brow products I prefer pencils to be honest because they are precise and quick to use. Nevertheless, I give over brow products a try from time to time. This Double Proof Brow is a 2in1 product with brow ink and brow mascara combined.

Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow

First, some information about TesterKorea: if you know me and my blog for some time you will know that TesterKorea is my favorite online retailer for larger KBeauty hauls. I’ve purchased products from them many times and they never failed me. Also, they are quite popular for offering many free samples and having a LARGE variety of samples for sale as well. Considering the fact that I know they are a reliable retailer and have a good reputation makes me even more happy that I’m part of their new Beauty Tester round-up.

Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow

Too Cool For School is a Korean brand, known for a unique packaging design. Their products are in the mid-pricey region and slightly more expansive than Etude House, for example. I have reviewed a bunch of their products in the past and the Too Cool For School Artclass By Rodin Contour is my favorite compact pact when it comes to contouring. You can also find other reviews of the brand >>here<<.

Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow

Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow

The Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow is a double-lasting brow mascara and ink to create cleaner and more refined brows that last double-time according to the description. There are three different shades available called Natural Brown, Ash Brown, and Light Brown. I selected Ash Brown (02) because it seems to fit most with my black eyebrows according to the promotional pictures.

Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow

Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow

The Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow is designed with two caps, one for the brow ink, and one for the brow mascara. In a first step, the brow ink is used to define the shape of the brows and fill in the gaps. The applicator is a sponge-like applicator that reminds me of lip tint applicators. The brow mascara comes with a classic brush and is step 2 for adjusting the color of your own brow hair to the color of the brow ink.

Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow

Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow

The color is a nice ash brown, very light and natural. Its color is water- and smudge-proof once tried, too! Unfortunately, the brush applicator for the ink is not very precise and convenient to use for me, since I’m used to pencils. I couldn’t manage to create a decent brow look with it. Also, the ash brown shade of the mascara is too light to show off on my black brows.

Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow

Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow

Unfortunately, the color I picked for the Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow doesn’t show up on my brows visibly, so this one was a miss for me. I will try to apply the ink with another brush in future and see whether the result is more promising. Regarding the staying power this brow product is great and will last you all day! If you have lighter or less dense brows than I have you might want to check these out!

The Too Cool For School Glam Rock Double Proof Brow retails for 13600Won at TesterKorea, which makes around 14 US$.

Review: A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream | TesterKorea Beauty Tester

3. October 2018

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / SKINCARE //

I received a few items from TesterKorea within the frame of their Beauty Tester Event. This one was the only skincare related product within the bundle I received, the A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream! Tea and water sound definitely like my cup of tea XD ! This gel cream uses green tea extract and comes packed with a lot of moisture and can be used as a regular moisturizer or as a sleeping mask!

A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream

First, some information about TesterKorea: if you know me and my blog for some time you will know that TesterKorea is my favorite online retailer for larger KBeauty hauls. I’ve purchased products from them many times and they never failed me. Also, they are quite popular for offering many free samples and having a LARGE variety of samples for sale as well. If you do not know a specific product and you want to test it I can recommend you TesterKorea. Considering the fact that I know they are a reliable retailer and have a good reputation makes me even more happy that I’m part of their new Beauty Tester round-up.

A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream

A;T Fox is not the most famous KBeauty brand, but it has a good reputation and some really cute designs, too. I had 3 cupcake shaped creams back in the days of the MeMeBox craze, and I loved the tiny cute jars! The brand has a lot of products containing tea, btw!

A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream

The jar of A;T Foc Tea Toc Water Cream comes in a cardboard box. Both have a very cute design with leaves and green colors, which fit great with the key ingredient green tea. Also, look at the beautifully illustrated lid of the jar! It looks very pretty!

A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream  A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream

The ingredients of the  A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream are listed below:

Water, Isopentyldiol, Glycerin, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Butylene Glycol, Betaine, Allantoin, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Disodium EDTA, Benzyl Glycol, Butoxydiglycol, Raspberry Ketone, 1,2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance

According to SkinCarisma, the cream is paraben-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free and silicone-free! There are also a bunch of plant-based extracts, like green tea, Centella, licorice, aloe, rosemary, and chamomile! All these plant-based extracts come with notable properties for skin care. As you might know, Licorice is good for fighting acne because of its anti-inflammatory effects. Moreover, it has brightening properties. Centella has wound-healing properties and acts soothing and is one of my favorite ingredients atm (check out other products containing Centella Asiatica >>here<<). Aloe, chamomile, and allantoin all have soothing properties, too, and help with moisturizing the skin.

A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream  A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream

The A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream comes in a big jar containing 100ml of the gel-type moisturizer. It comes with a spatula for keeping the jar as hygienic as possible, which is important for big product sizes in my eyes. The gel texture feels cooling and refreshing, which I always love about products with that kind of texture. The plant-based extracts even promote this freshness and cooling effect!

A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream  A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream

The gel melts into water while applying it and has a pleasant fresh scent, that is not overpowering. It absorbs very quickly and soaks into the skin without leaving greasiness or a sticky after effect. I love the way that it feels like nothing on the skin! This makes the cream also a great sleeping mask! Usually, for daily use, I would use a good dollop of the cream to apply all over my face. When using this as a sleeping mask I simply take the double amount and apply it. It feels so refreshing! Since there is no trace or film I can imagine that the product is even great for all skin types. It may not be nourishing enough for very dehydrated skin types though who prefer heavy creams.

A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream  A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream

The A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream is a nice 2 in 1 product that can be used as a daily moisturizer, but also as a sleeping pack. It has refreshing and cooling properties and the soothing effects of the plant extracts make it great for sensitive and irritated skin types. It may be not rich enough for very dehydrated and dry skin types seeking more nourishment, but I can imagine that this is a great moisturizer for hot and humid weather. If you like lightweight moisturizers that don’t leave a film or trace and are simply absorbed you will love this!

The A;T Fox Tea Toc Water Cream retails for 14400Won at TesterKorea, which makes around 14 US$.

Do you prefer gel type ord cream type moisturizers? Are you familiar with A;T Fox?

Review: The Face Shop Gelato Tint | TesterKorea Beauty Tester

1. October 2018

// PR SAMPLE / KBEAUTY / MAKEUP //

I received a few items from TesterKorea within the frame of their Beauty Tester Event. The first item that got my attention was the The Face Shop Gelato Tint, which I want to show you today! Let’s face it: The packaging is so cute and unique, no wonder it screams “Buy Me!” into our faces. Moreover, I love Korean Lip Tints! It already seems like this one will be a hit for me.

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

The Face Shop is a Korean brand that “shares the benefits of nature”. It launched in 2003 in Korea and tries to bring together science and nature in their cosmetics products. They have a huge range of items and most of the items I tried from this brand I actually did like. Also, from time to time the brand comes up with unique packaging designs and it comparable to Tonymoly or Etude House. This The Face Shop Gelato Tint is a perfect example!

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

The Face Shop Gelato Tint is a creamy lip tint that comes in 6 different shades that come in ice cream shaped containers in pastel colors. The description says that these tints melt like soft ice cream on our lips with the melting mousse texture, long-lasting color, and 4 different plant oils, which are rose hip, safflower seed, apple, and mango oil. The color I selected is called Strawberry&Cream (No.02) and is a vibrant strawberry pink shade.

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

Let’s take a moment to look at the beautiful and perfect packaging design of The Face Shop Gelato Tint! Despite being made from plastic, the plastic has a soft touch and doesn’t feel cheap. Even look at these details: there are sprinkles on the ice cream and the cone has a typical waffle pattern, too!

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

When removing the lid you see the attached angled brush applicator. The lip tint is scented like strawberry bubble gum!

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

The product has a mousse texture, as stated in the description. The tint is thick and vibrant in color and applies smoothly.

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

The Face Shop Gelato Tint is not drying when applied to the lips. On the contrary, the mousse texture feels more like a lip butter. The color is pigmented and shows nicely even on my lips. It will not last a meal, but the stain stays on the lips some time and disappears in a nice and even way. The tint comes with 4.2g of volume.

The Face Shop Gelato Tint

I enjoy using the The Face Shop Gelato Tint, and although we have autumn now the cute ice cream shape reminds me of summer and makes me smile. I love the packaging design and the fact that it is not made from simple and cheap plastic but feels like a nice fabric and has all these tiny details. If you love mousse tints and cute packaging this one is for you! If you are sensitive to strawberry bubble gum scents in cosmetics products I would not recommend this tint though.

The Face Shop Gelato Tint retails for 9000Won at TesterKorea, which makes around 8 US$.
