Review: Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad

25. August 2016

When I received the Wish Formula Fermented Oil.Free Dr. Mild Sunblock for testing I was surprised by a sachet of the Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad, too! I’ve been curious about this product since it launched, so it was nice to be able to test it before I could order it myself.

Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad

Wish Formula is one of these Korean brands I know for quite a while but apart from their Panda Eye Essence Patch, and recently their Wish Formula Fermented Oil-Free Dr. Mild Sunblock, I never tried many other products from this brand. They have a selection of skincare products and all appear very clean and dermatologically (?!) in a way. Also the Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad has a very scientific looking packaging, with a sachet shaped like a beaker from the lab. The Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad is  peeling pad infused with vitamin C and fermented botanical extracts. The pad has a dual side, one rough for exfoliating, the other for softly brightening up your skin. C200 means the pad contains 200 mg of Vitamin C. There is a second peeling pad called C450 which is larger and designed for the body, whereas C200 is designed to use on your face.

Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad

The ingredients of the pads are listed below and according to COSDNA we see that there are some red labbeled ingredients listed aswell. But before you panick, let’s take a closer look. The first ingredient with is red labelled is Cocamide DEA, also called Coconut Fatty Acid Diethanolamide. It is derived from Coconut oil as the name already says and it is used as surfactant and foam booster. If you check for this ingredient you will find that many well-known brands have products containing this inngredient. Even big brands like Lush/ L’Oreal/Boots…mostly it is used in shampoos oder body/face washes. There was a discussion that stated that Cocamide DEA is cancerous and depending on the concentration and the use it might be. Recent studies have shown though, that for rinse off products Cocamide DEA is safe to use and even if you leave it on the skin for a certain time it still depends on the concentration. Since this peeling pad is a product you will rinse off after all you should not be worried too much about this ingredient. The second red labbeled ingredient is the preservative DMDM Hydrantoin. Here again, the product is labbeled red because it can cause allergic reactions when used in high concentrations, which should not be the case here. Other ingredients worth to mention are lactid acid and glycolic acid for exfoliation and whitening, ascorbic acid of course for whitening and as antioxidant. Lactobacillus and Ferment Filtrate extracts and some other plant based extracts and oil. There is also Hyaluronic Acid for moisturization.
Ingredients: Water, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate, Coca midopropyl Betaine, Cocamide DEA, Lactid Acid, Glycolic Acid, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Ascorbic Acid, Polyglutamic Acid, Apium Graveolens (Celery) Extract, Brassia Oleracea Capitata (Cabbage) Leaf Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Solanum Lycoperisum (Tomato) Fruit/Leaf/Stem Extract, Brassica Rapa (Turnip) Leaf Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (carrot) Root Extract, Brassica Oleacea Italica (Brokkoli) Extract, Arginine, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, DMDM Hydantoin

Some words about ascorbic acid first:

Vitamin C is an antioxidant and thus can prevent our skin from aging too early. You have to know that a high concentration of Vitamin C doesn’t mean automatically that it is more effective concerning anti-aging. Normally, a high concentration of Vitamin C aims at a visible effect, because it tends to operate as a peeling by loosening dead and old cells. This is not a bad effect and stimulates the skin to regenerate itself, but keep in mind that it won’t affect the inner cell layers of your skin which have to be aimed if you really want an anti-aging effect.

Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad

Okay, apart from a bunch of promising exfoliating ingredients, how does the C200 Bubble Peeling Pad work? The pad comes packed in a sachet, upon opening it you will find a soaked pad inside. It feels quite heavy, because it is full of the peeling essence, and once you squeeze it a bit you will see that it foams up. The packaging states that one pad contains 15 ml of product. The pad has two sides: a rough, fiber side and a soft side. In order to use the peeling pad first cleanse you face and leave it damp. Then squeeze the pad a couple of times until it foams up. The rub the face with the fiber side for 2-3 minutes leaving out mouth and eye region. Depending on your skin do not be too forceful. Afterwards, flip the band of the pad to use the other soft side. Use it to pad the essence with the vitamin c into the skin. Afterwards rinse it off. The foam is super dense and soft and the product has a light lemon-y scent. The fiber side effeiciantly scrubs and peels the skin and if you have flaky skin it will help you to get rid of the flakes and make your skin feel smooth. I also discovered that my skin looks brighter directly  after using it and has a nice glow. I love how so many asian products are efficient with helping your skin to look more healthy and dull!

Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad

I really like the C200 Bubble Peeling Pad and I want to grab more of these in future! Not for using them too often though, but once in a while it is great to have an efficient facial peeling. I love how easily the pad creates a dense foam, even after using it the pad contained enough essence and foam for more useages – BUT, please be careful! According to Wish Formula a pad can be used 3 times. But you should not use such a harsher exfoliator more than 1-2 times a week. Since the sachet is opened I would not recommend you to store it for longer time than 2-3 days though, because it is not really hygienic! The second point is that Vitamin C oxidizes and you do not want to use oxidzed voitamin c on your skin. What I did with my pad after one time use? I used it on my body the next day while showering…a great body peel! By the way, if you have sensitive skin you can only use the soft side instead of using both sides of the pad. And don’t forget to use a rich or repairing cream afterwards, despite your skintype. Ahhh, and by the way, the PH is around 4 for this peeling pad!

Review: OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum

18. March 2015

You may know that one of my favourite products from Wishtrend is the OST Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum. I reviewed it previously, but I didn’t have any before and after pictures. Nevertheless, I was really impressed how the serum changed my skin and made it so much better in various aspects. When I saw that there was a new version of this I was most excited to try this new OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum. And, as you might guess I had high expectations for this serum. Could it hold up to them?

OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum

The brand OST or C20 is best known for the popular OST Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum in it’s signature orange packaging and the brown bottle. This serum is highly effective in terms of using the peeling ability of ascorbic acid in order to improve the skin condition. Despite being effective, it had some minor cons, for example it was very sticky, it was too aggresive for people with sensitive skin and it contained some artificial ingredients. The new OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum has a completelly different ingredient list and as the name says, the amount of vitamin C serum has been increased, too. The original serum contained 20 % of Vitamin C whereas in the new formula you will have 21.5 %. Vitamin C is an antioxidant and thus can prevent our skin from aging too early. The content of Vitamin C in both serums compared to other vitamin C containing products is rather high. It contains 20 % (21.5 %) Vitamin C.

OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum

As with the previous serum the cardboard box comes with a lot of description in Korean and in English. It is very detailled in how to use it and what precautions to take. The new serum has even more details in English, than the previous packaging. The ingredient list of the new formula is very short. You can look them up on COSDNA and you’ll discover that the ingredients are safe to use and that there is no artificial ingredient either. The ingredients of the old serum were safe to use, too, but the list of substances is much longer as you can look up >>here<<. Since both products contain Vitamin C they have to be stored in a cool place. They also do have to be protected from sunlight, in order to prevent the vitamin C from oxidizing. When I received the product the manufacturing date was really fresh, which is important for vitamin c products, too, because they have a short shelf life. Usually, I would recommend you to use it up as quickly as possible after opening.

OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum

You will find more information and detailled description about the serum on Wishtrend, too. The signature orange cardboard box contains a brown glass bottle and a separately packed dropper. You can simply exchange the lid of the bottle with the dropper after opening.

OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum

The dropper makes it very easy to take out the watery and runny product. The OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum has a clear color, which is also a sign that the vitamin C serum is fresh. If it turns yellow the vitamin in the bottle has started to oxidize. The scent of the product reminds me a bit of oranges, but with a different scent combined, which I cannot figure out. The scent is not strong and doesn’t linger on the skin, so it doesn’t matter anyways.

OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum

I’ve been using the OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum for 3 weeks now in the evening and on most days in the morning, too. When used during daytime keep in mind to use a sunblock, too! Below you can see how the serum effected my skin.

OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum

I had some redness, when I started to use the serum. After 3 weeks the pictures show that the redness has decreased and I could feel that my skin is smoothened. Apart from this I didn’t experience any changes in my skin structure. I used this serum in combination with the Klairs Moisture Rescue Kit I reviewed previously. I used it after the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner and the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum and before putting the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream. Sometimes I mixed the cream with a few drops of the vitamin C serum instead. The Klairs products may have contributed in reducing redness, too. The OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum is definitively less sticky than the old formula, but it is still a bit sticky, which is why I still like it better mixed with some other product.

OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum

Did the new OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum fulfill my expectations? I’m not sure. Somehow I have the feeling that the old formula was more effective. I remember with the old formula, that I felt a stinging experience the first times I used it. I didn’t have any feeling like this for the new formula. Maybe, this new formula is better suited to sensitive skintypes than the old one. I could observe a decreased redness in my face, but I cannot assure that it is only due to the new vitamin C serum, but it will be a combination of my skincare routine as a whole. Maybe if I repurchased this serum I would go for the old version, just because I had the feeling it worked better for me (and to confirm my observation). I can recommend you to try this new formula of the C20 if you were unhappy with the previous ingredients. This formula is almost completely different and doesn’t contains any parabens or other artificial ingredients. It doesn’t contain alcohol either. The old formula does have some cons, like the extreme stickiness and the ingredients, but I would not claim that the new formula shows better results, even with a higher concentration of vitamin C. Both serum, the old and the new version can be purchased at Wishtrend. The old OST Original Pure Vitamin C20 comes with free shipping and retails for 14.99 US$ at the moment, which is really affordable for a vitamin C serum. The new OST C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum retails for 24.99 US$. Both bottles contain 30 ml. I made a post about the promotions from Wishtrend for March >>here<<. Also, keep in mind their friend-referral program: You can receive a 5 Us$ referral coupon if you use my invitation code 17939205 upon registration and you’ll receive this voucher immediately. Review: O.S.T Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum

23. October 2013

EDIT: A new version of the  O.S.T Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum has been released, which is called C21.1 Advanced Serum. If you have sensitive skin I can recommend you to check out the review on the new formula >>here<<.

A couple of month ago I took part in one of Wishtrend’s giveaways and I was very lucky to be chosen as one of the winners. Around two weeks later I got a package from Wishtrend containing the popular O.S.T. Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum. I’ve read a couple of reviews for this serum before and it did seem to work greatly on most of the reviewers, so I was especially curious for the effects.

O.S.T Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum

The brand O.S.T or C20 is best known for exactly this serum reviewed here. O.S.T or C20 belongs to the same manufacturer as COSRX and Ciracle and is a Korean brand. The signature packaging of the O.S.T Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum is the orange cardboard box containing a brown glass bottle with an orange label. Many people will ask themselves why to use a vitamin C serum in their skincare routine? Usually, Vitamin C serums help to keep your skin nourished. Vitamin C can help brighten your skin, it can act as chemical peeling when used in a high concentration and it has anti-aging properties. Sounds promising!

The O.S.T Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum  has a volume of 30 ml and a shelf-life of 12 months after opening, although, since it is a vitamin C serum which oxidizes by time, you should use it up as quickly as possible. The cardboard box shows the detailed Korean description of the packaging. You can find English description on Wishtrend.
O.S.T Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum Ingredients of the O.S.T Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum are:
Water, Ascorbic Acid, Ethanol, Sodium Lactate, Butylene Glycol, Glucose, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Rosa Davurica Bud Extract, Carthamus Tinctorius Flower Extract, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil. Sodium Hyaluronate, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Diethoxyethyl Succinate, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Xanthan, PEG-180, Gluconolactone, Beta-Glucan, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Zinc PCA, Panthenol, Niacinamide, Glycerin, Tocopherylacetate, Lecithin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Ubiquinone, Diisopropyladipate, phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben

O.S.T Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum

According to COSDNA the ingredients of this vitamin C serum are safe to use. There are some minor irritants though. Apart from vitamin C, the key ingredient, the O.S.T Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum contains a mostly different moisturizers, some plant extracts as antioxidants, but also alcohol (Ethanol). Methylparaben is also listed in the ingredients. Sodium lactate, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide are some of the positive ingredients here, acting as moisturizer and brightener. Vitamin C is an antioxidant and thus can prevent our skin from aging early. The content of Vitamin C in this serum is very high compared to other vitamin C serum. It contains 20 % vitamin C.

The orange color of the packaging may be simple, but it reminds people of orange fruits, especially oranges, which makes them think about vitamin C automatically. The bottle inside comes with a sealed cap and a separately packed pipette. The pipette is very useful for the application of the serum and makes it possible to apply the serum carefully. Since vitamin C can oxidize the brown bottle is a good choice to prevent this, but you are even more safe if you store it additionally in the fridge, because warm/high temperatures can degrade the vitamin C as well.
Also make sure to close the cap of the bottle always tightly! As you can see in the image above, the color of the serum is a very light yellow. The color becomes more pigmented the longer you keep the serum, so it is best to use it as soon as possible, once the bottle is opened. A strong yellow color only means your vitamin C serum has oxidized!
As to the structure of the serum: it is a bit less fluid than water, similar to oil and has a similar thick consistency. When applied on the skin it leaves the skin with stickiness. I had no problems with the stickiness as long as I applied it only before sleeping. During daytime I didn’t want to have the sticky feeling. Finally, I started mixing 2-3 drops of the serum with my toner or moisturizer in the morning, which worked great and was much less sticky than putting it on your skin alone. The scent reminds me a bit of oranges. So, what effects did this serum have on my skin? I tested it for around 2 months now and it does some nice work on the skin: my skin feels more even and smooth and appears cleaner. I didn’t see a whitening effect or any effects on my black-/whiteheads (but I really don’t have many of them to begin with…). It seems the peeling effect by the vitamin C works really nice and the skin regenerates itself a bit, resulting in the nice feeling of my skin which I had. Since I liked the effect of it I can recommend you to try O.S.T Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum by yourself. Perhaps it improves your skin, too and/or even helps with the other skin problems. One negative part I recognized was, that the serum stings the first few minutes after application. After a while this effect is not noticeable anymore though. If you tend to have dry skin like me, this serum can be a bit drying, but you can either mix the serum with a moisturizer or apply moisturizer afterwards.
I really like the O.S.T Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum! It is affordable compared to other concentrated vitamin C serums and it is effective in terms of smoothing your face and making it look healthier. EDIT, since I can know compare this Vitamin C serum to the reformulated O.S.T C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum: The O.S.T Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum is much more intense than the O.S.T C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum. On the other hand the C21.5 doesn’t contain any parabens or other artificial ingredients. It doesn’t contain alcohol either. Also, it is not as sticky and doesn’t sting as much as the C20. Nevertheless, I had the feeling that the C20 was more effective on my skin. I had more visible results on my skin. Which of the two is the better serum for your skin I cannot tell, but I can recommend you to try rather the C21.1 if your skin is very sensitive. Go for the cheaper C20 if you have quite normal skin. Both serum, the old and the new version can be purchased at Wishtrend. The old O.S.T Original Pure Vitamin C20 comes with free shipping and retails for 14.99 US$ at the moment, which is really affordable for a vitamin C serum. The new O.S.T C20 Pure Vitamin C21.5 Advanced Serum retails for 24.99 US$. Both bottles contain 30 ml. Check out my blog for the monthly coupon codes for your shopping experience at Wishtrend. Also, keep in mind their friend-referral program: You can receive a 5 Us$ referral coupon if you use my invitation code 17939205 upon registration and you’ll receive this voucher immediately. Currently, I’m using some products from Wishtrend in my regular skincare routine, and I enjoy them a lot. So, if you need some shopping inspiration, here are my current picks for you. Of course, all of these are cruelty-free:

Cruelty-free Skincare Favorites from Wishtrend

I’m from Rice Toner (currently on sale for 18.20$)

The number one pick, that I can recommend really a lot, is the I’m From Rice Toner. I will review it this week on my blog, too, because I’ve almost finished using it. This milky toner is a staple in my skincare routine, and I will probably repurchase it on the next occasion. It contains 77.78% of rice extract from Jeju which helps with your skin’s elasticity. Apart from rice extract, it contains Niacinamide and other plant-based ingredients like rice bran extract, Japanese elm bark extract, common purslane extract, and amaranthus caudatus seed extract. The texture differs from the typically watery toners, not only because of the milky appearance, but also it feels slightly creamy, too. I’m using it as the second toner in my morning routine.

Cruelty-free Skincare Favorites from Wishtrend

Klairs Fundamental Watery Oil Drop (currently on sale for 24.80$)

This oil-like moisturizing serum combines Jeju Green Tea Water, Bifida and Rice Ferment Extract and Peptide and feels rich and nourishing, without being greasy or sticky like a facial oil. I think, this is especially great for oily skin types, who have dehydrated skin, and don’t want to use facial oils. I think it is also great for the summer season for dry skin types, for additional hydration in the daytime routine. It gives a subtle but healthy glow, too.

Cruelty-free Skincare Favorites from Wishtrend

Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream (currently on sale for 20$)

This calming and soothing cream containing Guaiazulene is not only famous for the signature light blue color of the cream, but it is also a very thick and rich texture and can be greatly used as occlusive cream as the last step of your nighttime skincare. In the official instructions, it is said, that you can use it on the desired areas in a thick layer. I love using this cream all over my face. It has a wonderful effect and I also reviewed it previously on my blog >>here<<.

Cruelty-free Skincare Favorites from Wishtrend

By Wishtrend Natural Vitamin 21.5% Enhancing Sheet Mask (currently on sale for 2.25$ per mask)

Hands down, I love the by Wishtrend Vitamin C line. I’ve used 3-4 bottles of the serum already and you can find my (old) review >>here<<. But I can also recommend this Vitamin C mask from the same line as gentle in-between vitamin kick for your skin. It’s a very thin sheet mask soaked heavily in essence with 21.5% of a natural vitamin complex (Vitamin Tree Water & Boseong Green Tea Water) and provides a simple and gentle vitamin care for sensitive skin types, for those avoiding the highly concentrated vitamin C serum. The mask has only 12 ingredients, too, which I love.

I have used many more products from various brands sold on Wishtrend and you can also browse through my archives for more reviews and impressions. Also, although I use my affiliate links, which give me a small commission if any purchases are made through these links, I would not write this post, If I’m not really loving these products. Through my skincare journey within the last years, Wishtrend and the products they offer have always been really great for my skin and I enjoyed trying out new products from their brands. They have so many innovative ideas and have developed and improved so much through all the years, and they definitively deserve to be known all around the world. So head over to Wishtrend and have fun shopping!

Review: By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

30. October 2019

//PR SAMPLE/KBEAUTY/SKINCARE//

For all those Propolis lovers in skincare: today’s review is about the By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule. If you are curious about this product make sure to continue reading.

By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

Probably, you know that the Korean beauty retailer Wishtrend does not only sell other Korean brands but also has taken a step into the beauty industry itself. Apart from known brand names Klairs or Jungle Botanics they also have products named under the brand “By Wishtrend”. Well-known products from By Wishtrend are the Vitamin C 21.5 Advanced Serum, the TECA 1% Barrier Cream, the Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash, and the Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water. I reviewed all of the mentioned products before if you are interested in more details. The By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule is one of the products that I have used up most recently and enjoyed every bit of it.

By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

As the name of the By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule already states, propolis is the star ingredient of this ampoule. Propolis is a resinous mixture collected from barks of trees by bees to seal their chambers with the larvae. Propolis has antibacterial and antifungal properties and thus protects the larva, but this also makes it useful in skin care, especially for troubled skin, but it also has skin conditioning properties and makes your skin feel smooth. The propolis of this ampule is collected from the Auvergne volcanic region in France and it says to contain two types of polyphenols named Catchin and Quercetin. The polyphenols have antioxidative properties. The propolis makes 15% of the total ingredients. Other key ingredients are Houttuynia Cordata Extract (makes 59%), hyaluronic acid, and zinc PCA.

By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

The full ingredients are listed below:

Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Propolis Extract, Glycerin, Propanediol, Isopentyldiol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Panthenol, Perilla Frutescens Extract, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Lactobacillus Ferment, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Butylene Glycol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Betaine, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Zinc PCA, Pantolactone

The By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule is free from parabens, alcohol, sulfates, silicones, and EU allergens. Moreover, it is fungal acne safe. You can check the ingredients via Skincarisma, which I found always very helpful. Other noteworthy ingredients, apart from the ones I mentioned before, are witch hazel extract for soothing, panthenol, glycerin, and betaine for moisturizing and skin conditioning, and a bunch of plant-based ingredients. According to Wishtrend, the pH of the ampoule lies around 5.6 and the product is cruelty-free, too.

By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

This ampoule is perfectly suited for people with acne or irritations, or people with dry or aging skin. Propolis combines effects of anti-aging, soothing and hydration and is therefore perfectly suited for all of these concerns. The ampoule comes in a typical brown glass bottle with a dropper. The packaging design is simple but neat.

The By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule has a light yellowish color and a consistency, that is characteristic of an ampoule. It is not runny as water, but thicker. It feels smooth when applying and absorbs nicely without stickiness. Moreover, it feels hydrating upon application. My skin drank up that ampoule fully and I loved it. I used it up so quickly and enjoyed it during day and night.

By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

I have tried other propolis serums before, like the COSRX Propolis Light Ampoule and the It’s Skin Power 10 Formula Propolis Ampoule. Out of these three, the By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule has been my favorite so far. It feels simply richer and more nourishing and I love the ingredients that are used here.

By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule

The By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule retails for $32.00 from Wishtrend. This is the only downside I see since it is more expensive than the other propolis ampoules I tried. But Black Friday is almost here, and in general, Wishtrend has many specials and coupons all over the year for a proper discount. Check out my Coupons & Discount page for saving some bucks here. If you haven’t made any purchases on Wishtrend yet, you can also use my referral code C0D76CCE. You will get a 10% discount on your first purchase.

The By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule has my recommendation if you are looking for a good propolis ampoule. It has good ingredients, an enjoyable texture, and hydrating effect, and works well during the day and nighttime routines. Have you found your favorite propolis ampoule yet?

Review: By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

30. March 2018

// PR SAMPLE / SKINCRE / AFFILIATE LINKS //

One of the ingredients that you will stumble upon quite often in asian beauty industry is Centella asiatica extract. Especially its wound-healing capabilities have made it very popular in skin care. One of the newer products from Wishtrend is the By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream, containing Centella asiatica extract as key ingredient, and kindly, they send me their product for testing and reviewing.

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

Probably, you know that Wishtrend does not only sell other Korean brands but also has a step in the beauty industry itself. Apart from known brand names Klairs or Jungle Botanics they also have products named under the brand “By Wishtrend”. Well-known products from By Wishtrend are the Vitamin C 21.5 Advanced Serum, Natural Vitamin 21.5 Enhancing Vitamin Mask, the Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash, and the Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water. I reviewed the last two products not long ago. The latest addition to the By Wishtrend product family is the By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream.

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

By Wishtrend Teca 1% Barrier Cream is a spot treatment cream that creates a protective layer to keep moisture and active ingredients within the skin while strengthening, calming, and improving the skin’s overall health with help of Centella asiatica.  Although it is designed as spot treatment, I personally use it on my whole face when I feel that it is irritated.

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

The barrier cream comes in blue colored sleek tube. Its cardboard box contains all the information about how to use and what ingredients it contains in English and Korean. The full ingredients list isn’t long either:

Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Cyclopentasiloxane, Ethyl Hexanediol, Cyclohexasiloxane, Asiaticoside, Madecassic Acid, Asiatic Acid, Tromethamine, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum, Glyceryl Caprylate, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA

You can check for the ingredients on SkinCarisma.

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

Centella Asiatica

Centella asiatica extracts have been used in traditional medicine and are still used today, having beneficial properties like wound-healing. Scientific studies have shown that continuous application of the extract can promote collagen building, act anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidative. The purified extract of Centella asiatica is called TECA. It is a standardized extract composed of Asiaticoside, Asiatic acid and Madecassic acid. It is used in skin care targeting wound-healing, scarred skin, sensitive skin, but also seems to be effective on cellulite.

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

Besides Centella asiatica the cream also contains allantoin, which is soothing and skin protecting. And you will also spot silicons. Since it is a barrier cream, the silicons will help to form a barrier and reduce the loss of moisture of the skin. It is important to apply this cream as last step though, because it will also prevent other skin care steps to penetrate through the barrier. I personally love to use this cream on my full face as last step when it is irritated. I discovered that it always helped a lot with redness and reduced them after a few hours.

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

The TECA Barrier Cream has a balm type consistency and no scent at all. It even doesn’t have that specific non-scented cosmetics scent, which can be sometimes strange. It absorbs quickly, has a cooling touch, and doesn’t leave a sticky feeling nor any greasiness.

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

I’ve already used up 3/4 of the cream and you can guess that I enjoyed using it a lot. Especially, when I have the feeling that my skin is starting to feel irritated or redness is appearing I apply this cream at last step over my skin. I also didn’t have any problems to use it during daytime and apply makeup over it. It is really a nice barrier cream and works out great for my skin!

By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream

If you are curious about the By Wishtrend TECA 1% it retails for 27.50 US$ at Wishtrend. Keep in mind the friend-referral program from Wishtrend: You can receive a 5 Us$ referral coupon if you use my invitation code 17939205 upon registration and you’ll receive this voucher immediately. Review: Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum & Snail Repair Advanced 91 Serum

3. December 2017

// PR SAMPLE / SKINCARE / KBEAUTY //

I’m always up for new skin care products and I love especially trying new serums. Some of my favorite key ingredients are vitamin C and snail secretion filtrate. A while ago I received two serums containing exactly these two ingredients: the Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum and the Purito Snail Repair Advanced 91 Serum from Eopenmarket for reviewing purpose. I have tested these two products thoroughly the last weeks and here is my verdict regarding these two products. Additionally, there will be a giveaway on my Instagram account, where you can win both products!

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

Purito is a rather young Korean brand with cruelty-free and 10-free skin care products. The products are free from paraben, ethanol, surfactants, artificial coloring, fragrance, triethanolamine, phthalein, triclosan, petrochemicals, benzoyl peroxide.

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

The Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum is directed towards anti-aging and prevents the formation of new wrinkles as well. It is highly moisturizing containing almost 90% of hyaluronic acid. 10% of the serum is ascorbic acid (Vitamin C). Vitamin C is always good to have in your skincare routine. I have tried a couple of serums in the past (check >>here<<). Vitamin C is an antioxidant and thus can prevent our skin from aging too early and from sun-damage. A high concentration of Vitamin C doesn’t mean automatically that it is more effective concerning anti-aging. Normally, a high concentration of Vitamin C aims at a visible effect, because it tends to operate as a chemical peeling by loosening dead and old cells. This is not a bad effect and stimulates the skin to regenerate itself, but keep in mind that it won’t affect the inner cell layers of your skin which have to be aimed if you really want an anti-aging effect. With 10 % vitamin C in this serum this serum lies between the OST C20 serum and the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop. The thing about Vitamin C is, that it oxidizes with time, and you have to use it up very quickly. You will see as the color of the serum will get more yellowish with time. A possibility to prevent the vitamin C from oxidizing is to stabilize it with ferulic acid or vitamin E or use derivates.

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

If you look at the ingredients list of this serum you will see that the ascorbic acid is not stabilized, so the only way is, to store it in a dark and cool place and use it up quickly, once opened.

ingredients: Sodium Hyaluronate (84%), Ascorbic Acid (10%), 1,2-Hexanediol, Niacinamide, Arginine, Human-Oligopeptide-1, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Extract, Magnolia Liliflora Bude Extract, Lilium Tigrinum Extract, Paeonia Albiflora Root Extract, Tuber Magnatum Extract, Pyrus Malus Extract, Red Ginseng Extract, Sodium Polyacrylate, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA

You can check for the properties of the single ingredients via Skincarisma. Ascorbic Acid and Niacinamide have brightening and anti-aging properties, and also arginine is directed towards anti-aging. The ingredients are also listed on COSDNA.

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

As you can see my serum already started to get darker in color and it is time to throw it out. Yet when I opened it up newly it already had a light yellow tint. The serum is a quite runny formula despite being a serum and it feels very moist and hydrating on the skin. It has no specific fragranced scent either. Once applied it will dry down after a while. At first, it will still have a slightly tacky residue, which disappears after some time without a trace. I don’t have any before and after pictures of my skin, because I use a combination of many products which affect each other. But this serum definitely makes the skin feel softer!

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

Purito Snail Repair Advanced 91 Serum

The second serum from Purito is the Snail Repair Advanced 91 Serum and as the name says, this serum contains 91% of snail secretion ferment.  Snail Mucus claims to be rich in hyaluronic acid and antioxidants and thus help our skin to regenerate stimulating the formation of collagen, elastin and dermal components that repair the signs of photoaging. Also, it claims to minimize the damage generated by free radicals that are responsible for premature skin aging (there is a Wikipedia entry for snail mucus, too). The snail mucus is not obtained by harming the snails, but it is collected is so-called snail farms.

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

The ingredients are also listed on the cardboard packaging:

ingredients: Saccharomyces/Snail Secretaion Ferment Filtrate (91%), Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Niacinamide, Betaine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Polyacrylate, Allantonin, sh-Oligopeptide-1, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Pyrus Malus Fruit Extract, Cucumus Sativus Fruit Extract, Camelia Sinsensis LEaf Extract, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA, Lavandula Angustifolia Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Citrus Limon Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcus Oil, Cananga

You can check out the properties of the single ingredients via Skincarisma or COSDNA. The Purito Snail Repair Advanced 91 Serum contains more ingredients than the Vitamin C Serum, but mostly plant-based extracts and oils. Again, because of the oils added people with sensitive skintypes should be aware of potential reactions.

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

The serum has a clear color and feels a bit tackier upon application. But also here the product absorbs without traces after a while. This serum is free from any fragrance, too, and feels calming on the skin. I love using anything that contains snail secretion on irritated skin and troubles. I feel they help to reduce redness and irritations.

Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum

I’m really happy with both serums, although, I would wish that the Vitamin C in the first serum would be stabilized to make it last longer. I like the short and mainly plant-based ingredients lists and the fact that the products are free from 10 unwanted chemicals. Additionally, it is a plus that the brand is cruelty-free. On top, the price for the serums is super affordable with only 10.31US$!

If you are curious about these two serums you have the chance to win both of them on my Instagram account! Feel free to enter :)

Have you heard of Purito? And what serums are you using in your skincare routine?

Wishtrend Black Friday

Last but not least, if you do not know where to start and what to put in your card I have some recommendations for you: I selected 4 products that I enjoyed during this year, and I have reviewed all of them before and used them for a longer period of time without any regrets. Please keep in mind though, that every skin and skin type might react in a different way. My dry but yet very insensitive skin might react in another way as your skin, whether it may be dry, too, or any other skin type. If you have any questions to the products feel free to contact me (write me comments here or reach out to me via Instagram).

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water: If you do not know whether harsh chemical peelings like AHA and BHA are suited for your skin you should go for this mild chemical exfoliator containing mandelic acid. Mandelic Acid is a mild AHA, which is perfectly suited for sensitive skin types. It didn’t feel irritating at all and makes the skin texture so much more even. This is one of my favourite deals because you receive 2 bottles of this for the price of one! That makes a discount of 50%!

I’m from Ginseng Serum: This serum combines so many ingredients I love and is my favourite serum during the day. Ginseng extracts, Ginseng oil, green tea, licorice….so many great plant-based ingredients and that hanbang scent! So lovely! The serum retails for 18.72 US% instead of 28.80 US$.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash: I can only repeat myself and say how much I love the Matcha scent of this powder wash! It is a great exfoliator for every now and then and really great for travelling, since it comes as powder and has only to be mixed with water or toner for use. This cleanser retails for 17.20 US$ instead of 22 US$.

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum: I have used three bottles of this serum and it is – hands down – still one of my all-time favourites! I love the warming sensation and the oil-like consistency of the serum and it makes the skin look more healthy and smooth than before. LOVE! You can get this for 14.95 US$ instead of 23 US$ during the Black Friday Week. Or you can get this together with the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask (which is lovely and has a wonderful cream-to-liquid consistency and acts brightening) for 30 US$ instead of 50 US$.

I hope that these quick last minute-recommendations will help you to decide what to buy during Black Friday on Wishtrend. As promised at the beginning, here are finally the reviews for products available on Wishtrend that I did in the past. You might like to check these out, if you are interested in purchasing these. Review: By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

12. November 2017

// PR SAMPLE / AFFILIATE LINKS / KBEAUTY //

I love drinking tea and green tea is one of my favourites! The scent makes me feel awake in the mornings and also I tend to love skincare products containing green tea a lot regarding their scent. A new product from Wishtrend called By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash has just launched and I am so happy to be able to report to you about my experiences on testing this product for the last weeks.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

Probably, you know that Wishtrend does not only sell other Korean brands but also has a step in the beauty industry itself. Apart from known brand names Klairs or Jungle Botanics they also have products named under the brand “By Wishtrend”. Well-known products from By Wishtrend are the Vitamin C 21.5 Advanced Serum, Natural Vitamin 21.5 Enhancing Vitamin Mask, or the Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water which I reviewed not long ago. The latest addition to the By Wishtrend product family is the By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash is a cleanser that comes in powder form. In order to make the product ready for cleansing your skin you have to add water or your favourite watery toner to the powder and lather it up. Powder Wash are probably one of my favourite cleansing types for travelling, since the product will never leak and create a mess during transportation if it breaks. The powder wash comes in a pale green plastic bottle which makes it very lightweight and perfectly portable. The packaging is very simple and only shows the product name and some minor description on the backside. The cardboard box has the same green color and simple design, but it contains more thorough information on the sides in Korean and English.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

Green Tea

Green tea does not only have health benefits when consumed, but also has many benefits for the skin when applied topically. It contain polyphenols and Vitamins A,C, and E, which have anti-oxidant properties, and so it acts anti-aging and protects the skin from UV damage. Moreover, it also has moisturizing, soothing and smoothening properties on the skin. It is practically an all-rounder and has been used for many years in cosmetics products, especially in the asian region, where drinking green tea and tea in general is a major part of the culture.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

Other key ingredients of the By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash are Papain, Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Powder), and Amino Acid Surfactants derived from coconut. Papain is an enzyme that mildly exfoliates your skin and acts as skin conditioner. Baking powder has skin conditioning and exfoliating properties as well. It is more abrasive than papain and suited to help acne-prone skin to get rid of skin troubles. Last but not least, the amino acid surfactants have a weak acidity and moisture retaining properties. The ingredients list in total is not very long and you can find the full english ingredients listed on the cardboard box packaging:

Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder, Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Sorbitol, Papain, Betaine, Cellulose Gum, Citric Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate

You can check the ingredients via COSDNA or Skincarisma to see what the single ingredients are for. The product is free from alcohol, paraben and sulphates. It has mainly brighteing, exfoliating and  anti aging properties and is in generally suited for all skintypes, but it contains corn starch and citric acid. Corn starch can be irritating for acne-prone skintypes and citric acid has to be used with care for sensitive skintypes. I personally have dry skin and didn’t react in a negative way the Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

As I said before you have to mix this powder with lukewarm water (or your favourite toner) to lather it up. The Wishtrend description recommends lukewarm water to activate the enzyme properties of the cleanser. Also, it is recommended not to use AHAs/BHAs, highly concentrated Vitamin C, Retinol, etc. together with the product, because the cleanser already contains exfoliating ingredients and you do not want to over-exfoliate your skin. For sensitive skintypes it is recommended to use the cleanser only 2-3 times a week.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

First of all, the By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash smells amazing! It has the scent of fresh matcha tea or matcha latte and just is sooo yummy if you are a green tea lover like me. I feel directly refreshed by the scent when I’m using this cleanser. The foam that is created is not a lot, but only a very watery lather, but on the other hand it is not drying on the skin either. The pH I tested was at 7, but it largely depends on your tap water (or toner) in this case. Regarding it cleansing properties I can recommend it as second step cleanser. It won’t do the work as full makeup remover, so I would use an oil cleanser or balm cleanser to remove my makeup first and then use the powder wash. More often I preferred to use this wash in the mornings as only cleanser though! The powder wash will make the skin feel really refreshed, but not dried out. Moreover the skin feels super soft after application and you can feel that it really works with all these exfoliating ingredients.

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

For me the By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash is perfect as once in a while morning cleanser. Usually, I only use water or cleansing water in the mornings. This powder wash adds some nice exfoliating effects and has an amazing scent that makes you feel awake! Since it contains many exfoliating ingredients people with sensitive skin have to try it out slowly, using it only few times in the week. I can imagine that it will act very positively on people with acne prone skin and make the skin feel smoothened out.

If you are curious about the By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash, too, it usually retails for 22.00 US$ and is available at Wishtrend. But at the moment it is on launching sale until 16th November for only  17.60US$. Keep in mind the friend-referral program from Wishtrend: You can receive a 5 Us$ referral coupon if you use my invitation code 17939205 upon registration and you’ll receive this voucher immediately. There will be a specific field in your registration form called “friends invitation program” where you can put the code mentioned above. This way new customers can safe 5 US$ which is a great possibility to safe some money. Also, Wishtrend has a Free-Shipping Area, were you can find products that can be bought with free shipping. There won’t be any Wishtrend Coupons for this months because of the upcoming Black Friday sales. But there are special prices available for the powder wash in combination with the Vitamin 75 Maximizing Cream and 21.5 Enhancing mask.

What is your impression on the By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash? Have you tried powder washes before?

Review: By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water

4. October 2017

// PR SAMPLE / AFFILIATE LINKS / KBEAUTY //

A while ago I received the new By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water for reviewing purpose by Wishtrend. I’ve tested it for quite some time and I’m almost through the bottle and I’m positive about this product so far.

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water

Probably, you know that Wishtrend does not only sell other Korean brands but also has a step in the beauty industry itself. Apart from known brand names Klairs or Jungle Botanics they also have products named under the brand “by Wishtrend”. Well-known products from By Wishtrend are the Vitamin C 21.5 Advanced Serum or the Natural Vitamin 21.5 Enhancing Vitamin Mask. The Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water is the newest addition to the By Wishtrend product family.

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water

Mandelic Acid

Is this a toner? Yes and no! It is a hydrating liquid to treat your skin after cleansing and acts as mild chemical exfoliant. This prep water uses a low concentration of mandelic acid for exfoliating your skin. In contrast to harsh AHAs and BHAs Mandelic Acid is a mild AHA with a large molecular size, so it is better suited for people with sensitive skin or people who want to start incorporate chemical exfoliant into their skincare. It has antibacterial properties and helps to reduce pigmention of the skin.

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water

Apart from the key ingredient, which is mandelic acid, this product contains some more beneficial ingredients:

Water, Mandelic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Beta-Glucan, Panthenol, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Centella Asiatica Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Sorbitol, Dimethyl Sulfone, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Citrate, Arginine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Carbomer

Panthonol, Beta Glucan, and Sodium Hyaluronate are acting moisturizing and hydrating. Centella Asiatica Extracta acts regenerating on damaged skin. Licorice extract helps to even up the skin tone and acts soothing. You can check out the ingredients analysis on Skincarisma, too.

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water

I use the By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water after cleansing my skin. I pour the clear and watery liquid on a cotton pad and swipe it over my face, especially over my T-zone. Afterwards I continue with the rest of my skincare routine. Sometimes, I also add a toner after using the Skin Prep Water to add some additional moisture.

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water

I discovered that this mild exfoliator doesn’t irritate the skin at all, but yet it makes the skin feel softer and smooth. When I started using this again after my vacation I felt that it made my freckles disappear really quickly. It doesn’t have any special scent to it and absorbs quickly, too, without any trace of stickiness. I use the By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water in the evening almost every day. During day I use a Vitamin C serum. I’m wearing sunscreen during day aswell.

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water

I came to like the By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid %5 Skin Prep Water very much. It is a mild exfoliation and a perfect start to get your skin to like AHAs. It makes the skin soft and smooth and can be used along with my regular skincare routine without any problems (if you are interested in what products I’m using you might want to check out my Instagram account where I share my skincare from time to time.
